This is actually a good thing. A week ago, they may well have called it for Walker by now. But the race tightened up a great deal. This is going to be a rocky ride, specially with a lot of precincts, I am sure, having to stay open.

Meta, let me join you in expressing my happiness and pride in voting for President Obama today, here in San Diego. This is the third time I’ve voted for President Obama. I just can’t wait for November 6, to do it again. Today the weather was gorgeous in San Diego. Sadly, not many people were at my polling place. I am so elated to hear that folks in Wisconsin turned up in record numbers. No matter what happens tonight, the people in Wisconsin, and all the people who volunteered from other states to get out the vote, must be commended for a job well done. I forgot who said this on an earlier thread, but no matter how things turn out in Wisconsin, we must not be discouraged or loose our fighting spirit.
A million fewer Dems voted in ’10 in Wi. than voted in ’08? (Rachel) That’s shameful. Handed the state to the Repubs on a silver platter. Every vote, every election matters.
Let us also remember to monitor closely the 4 state senate seat recalls and the lieutenant governor. Flipping one senate seat gives control to theDems, meaning they can block anything Walker tries to do. Flipping the Lt Gov means if Walker does get arrested, if he were to win, we still would have a Dem gov. Of course, the best would be to have Barrett win, the Lt Gov flip and at least one senate seat flip.

And exits are usually pretty accurate. Which makes me wonder why they have it 50/50, when all the other numbers point to a significant win for Barrett.

Trying to stay up to date with updates on WI, but don’t want to obsess about it, so I’m watching Tron: Legacy. I’m not big on electronica, but the soundtrack by Daf Punk is pretty damn slick. I’m telling ya if ya want a good wordk out playlist, this soundtrack might be it.
Also, it pretty cool the way they used old footage of Jeff Bridges to create his “younger self” as Clu. I’ve read that they used CG to create the “head” of Jeff Bridges 30 years ago, and used footage from back then to create Clu’s personal expressions and movement in his face when he spoke. They then had a real “body” that they used and placed the Clu head on the actor’s body and viola…Jeff Bridges in the flesh only 30 years younger.
With less than 1% Walker 57%, Barrett 42%. Obviously meaningless. I fully expect this to be a recount either way. We may not know the winner for weeks.
9:07 PM: RNC chair and former Wisconsin GOP Chair Reince Priebus is on CNN talking about the results. He’s putting on a good show but pretty clearly he doesn’t feel like he knows what the results are going to be. Republicans and frankly most Democrats (at least outside the state) thought Walker was winning.

I’m sorry but I just don’t trust anything that comes from Politico at this point. I will wait until all the actual results are counted and tabulated. People are still in lines waiting to vote.
Milwaukee county includes s suburbs which would be Walker territory. Looking at some of the county results, which for most are still fairly early, I am somewhat optimistic. A lot of these Walker should be pulling in 70% and he isn’t.
My system is really slow tonight so please pardon me. Jumping in at end, will scroll back to read. But, would like to comment on last thread. I don’t see it as a “Defeat” of the Paycheck bill, but a total call to ALL women to get out there and vote these bums out. Hey, wear lipstick while you do that if you want to! What the heck, just get up, get off the tushies, the fence, the whatever ails you. If they want to take us back a couple of centuries, well, let’s suffragette-2012 the crap out of them. Totally made up that “Suffragette-2012″ thingy!
Meanwhile, on a funnier note, did I hear Ed ( I don’t usually watch his show, but am caught up w/ WI so it’s on background) say that he thinks PBO knows that it was WI fight, and they know what they’re doing and had to do it on their own? Totally paraphrasing, but thought I heard something to that effect.
You did after one of the guests said they preferred PBO stayed away cause it was there fight. Ed then goes, ‘yeah that’s just what I’ve always said. PBO should stay in DC. All politics are local. Why, just last election of 2010, I was on the front lines encouraging everyone to GOTV!’
Don’t like the early results. Can’t figure out why Madison and Milwaukee results are so close. Walker said to have lost ground with women—-minus 3 to minus 12 this time. Lost ground with independents too. Huge turnout favors Dems. Hopefully numbers will improve.
I don’t buy ANY of those results. If something looks fishy to be nearly impossible – it probably is. The MSM is pushing misleading early data to discourage the remaining DEM voters who are still waiting in line to vote.
Madison and Milwaukee aren’t close. Dane and Milwaukee counties may be close, but there are a lot of other cities in those countie. Until we get a better look at which precincts are reporting and about 70% of the vote is in, we won’t really know anything.

NBC news just called it for walker.
Not even close!
It’s over! Wisconsin, the President was right to stay out of there. They knew!!!
Ed Schutz is mad as hell!
No, the voters didn’t. The Dem turnout was as high or in some areas higher than 08. Obama supporters showed +12 over Romney supporters. Something stinks, and it stinks real bad.
Money wins. The one thing some reporter noted was that the Dems needed a huger than huge turnout to snag the middle who just didn’t like the idea of overturning an election. I thought they might have done it, but no dice. Sad because this will just really accelerate the big money boys and give them confidence that they can indeed buy an election.
Barrett had zero money. Not so with this president, but I do think congress will forever be in republicans hands! Just cannot compete with all that money.
isonprize this is not about Citizens United. The turnout was as high as one could reasonably expect for Democrats and PBO supporters. We are going to find out that this election was stolen. Probably that will be revealed at some point AFTER the Nov 2012 election. Mark my words.
I’m predicting that we’re gonna find out that this election was stolen – maybe not tonight, maybe not next week, or even next month, but in time we will learn exactly what happened. And I’m telling you that the WI results tonight are among the fishiest set of election results I’ve ever seen in the last 3 years.
Hopefruit2, I’m with you on this issue!!! Wisconsin was a test case for Rove, Koch & Co. in more ways than one. If this total stands, they will think that they can buy elections. SERIOUSLY. But silly me, I still think JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL.
WE JUST HAVE TO WORK EVEN HARDER. America, THIS IS NOT A TEST!
If this result stands, then the WI voters get exactly what they deserve. I can’t feel any sympathy for them because it’s time people take responsibility for how they vote. I’ll say the same thing in Nov if people pull this same shit in the general. I’m sick of hearing about ‘low information voters’, that is absolute bullshit. Since they don’t care about how they vote, they need to reap the benefits of their stupidity. I’m not making any more excuses for laziness and ignorance. It is what it is. This has nothing to do with the president, it has nothing to do with campaigns, it’s about the American people who have for the last 50 years or more participated in the dumbing down voters. They constantly vote against their own interest, I believe it’s time they feel the consequences of that. I mean, it sucks that other people who weren’t complicit with this have to suffer too, but when will people learn? When will they make connections between their own lives and politics? WI is in for a tough slog if Walker really did win tonight, but I believe it’s a lesson they should have and they should learn from it. It sounds mean but it is what it is. I’m glad PBO didn’t go there to bail their asses out. This election was about them and what they believe in. Yeah CU was horrible and made things worse, but if the voters weren’t already predisposed to laziness and ignorance, I honestly don’t believe the election would have been so easily won by Walker( if he did indeed win given how quickly the MediaWhores called it for him). CU is only partly to blame, the WI voters should not be exempt from blame either. This was their fight to win or lose and they decided to lose.
Don’t forget “the sun shines on the good as well as the evil”. So we all will suffer if folks vote for Romney over President Obama in November.
IMO, the President should not have gone to WI. I’ll bet money that the Obama administration had a gazillion polls showing what was likely to happen in WI. Also, this was about WI and their decision. President Obama went around the country in 2010 and told people not to give the keys back to these jackasses and they gave them back anyway. We had emoprogs telling Dems to sit home. Well tonight the Dems came out, but from what I’ve read there were indies and others who believed a recall should never have happened. So be it. WI will have to deal with their decision. Their only hope about Walker is if he gets indicted.
I know that Sabreen, which is why I said “it sucks that other people who werent complicit with this”—-voting against their own interest—-”have to suffer too.” —- but such is life, people as a whole get out what they put in. Like you said, so be it. The people of WI have spoken.
Barrett is way ahead in Dane —-Madison— and it is even in Milwaukee now—–and I expect Barrett to win there by a comfortable margin when all is counted.

And the media is partially to blame!
Hahaha even Walker supporters just admitted they thought the call was a "mistake." Something's strange in Wisconsonland.— Shit Sexists Say (@shitsexistssay3) June 06, 2012
How could the exit polls once again be so off—–a predicted extremely close race, a 50-50 type election they said, told news anchors to prepare for a very long night, all the reported responses from exit polls sounded encouraging for the Dems. And then BAM! Election called. And I guess the Milwaukee vote wasn’t important—-only 7% vote in—the most populous city in the state. Sigh. Money, money, money. and Triple sigh—-just heard the first blame placed on Obama for not campaigning in the state—-on LOD.
I thought the enthusiasm was off the charts. What could PBO have done to up the enthusiasm? I knew we would hear that meme sooner or later. Ed really seemed shocked when Rachel told him that Walker was the projected winner. I smell a dead rat somewhere.
Huffmymuffwithpost is callin it too. I KNOW, WTF am I doing lookg at THAT? I’m sure Arrogantianna is winding up with a bunch of crap, gettin HER muff all wound up. Ok, if I made anyone PUKE I apologize.
I’m at the point in my life that if PBO loses 2012 I will feel nothing about this country and will have no pride it in anymore. Our democracy is a joke.

Also, on this blog, days ago, a comment in effect said they did it to themselves and had to fix it for themselves, even tho they were warned. You reap what you sow.

yep. that’s right. that’s exactly what they are doing. “Oh it’s all over we might as well give up and go home” That’s what our buddies at the-mouth-piece-for-the-GOP want. They want people to just give up and go home. Screw these guys. I hope those ppl that are standing in line do not give up and leave. every vote counts.
Calling an election when people are still in line is disrespectful to those voters and to Democracy itself. It should be illegal and the media should not be allowed to do this. They think they are running the damn country.
I had to leave and heard in the car that the race was called for Walker. Does anyone know if the Dems took over the Senate there? Other than him being elected in the first place, I don’t think Wisconsinites have anything to be ashamed of. It was a valiant effort and they should hold their heads high. There’s going to be gloating and strutting by the repubs for a few days. If you can’t stand the heat, it’s best to stay out of the kitchen. Leave the MSM alone for a few days, don’t subject yourself to the crazy. Don’t subject each other to the crazy. Let’s redouble our efforts to GOTV in November.
Remember PBO will handle this probably better than we can. Never too high, never too low, day at a time, and don’t forget to exhale.
I know that and I’m hoping that the results are other than we’ve been told. I’ve yet to see a time when a called race was incorrect. they have been too close to call, or challenged, but I don’t know of one time that they were wrong. So whether conceded or not ( I hope Barrett fights it to the bitter end), that doesn’t change the fact that we should take deep breaths and not get pulled into defeatism. Ain’t gonna let nobody turn me ’round.
AP: Barrett spokes not conceding-citing voting in Milwaukee/Madison/Racine. "We feel confident when those come in, Barrett is going to win"— Ed Schultz (@edshow) June 06, 2012
I have to admit after hearing reports about the outstanding turnout, I thought it meant good things for Tom Barrett. I am so totally depressed right now, I can’t stand it. After my own high about voting for PBO, I just can’t believe this Wisconsin result. So awful
AP: Barrett spokes not conceding-citing voting in Milwaukee/Madison/Racine. "We feel confident when those come in, Barrett is going to win"— Ed Schultz (@edshow) June 06, 2012
I was so wondering about M/M/R — it just didn’t make sense that they called it before all those votes were counted. I’ll hope for the best. I just don’t want to hear “concede” before all votes are in.
The explanation I am getting is exit polling. They have polled these areas and Walker must be leading and even with people still in line there are not enough votes to overtake Walkers lead. Therefore they can project based on these assumptions.
Jovie, not that I give a flying f**k about CNN, but you claimed “CNN said that exit polls way off, that to discount the President winning there.” Then you admitted it was Ari f**king Fleisher who said PBO couldn’t win in Wisconsin. Come on Jovie, this night is shitty enough without misreporting this stuff!!!!
Unions and collective bargaining rights are ESSENTIAL and must remind strong!! But (PLEASE push back if this is unfair) the OPTICS of union leadership ARE NOT GOOD. Too many post-middle-age WHITE MEN. No doubt most of them are hardworking, committed fighters that had to spend a long time working their way up. I mean to cast no aspersions (I’m an ole middle aged white dude myself )! But unions need a younger more DIVERSE leadership NOW in my opinion.
Can someone please explain to me how can the exit polls show President Obama with a twelve point lead over Romney, but yet shoot themselves in the head by voting for Walker?
that’s right Ison – we sure do. And this isn’t over yet – I’m glad to see that Barrett is taking the pragmatic approach and not conceding – he shouldn’t not when there’s still votes to be counted.
Everybody take a big deep breath and breath out. It’s not over till the fat lady sings.
Perplexing election——more union households voted than in ’10, fewer conservatives, Walker lost ground with independents and women. Obama had the support of 18% of Walker voters, 92% of Barrett voters; Willard had the support of 5% of Barrett voters and 67% of Walker voters. http://ht.ly/bo2OV
I heard from more than one OFA volunteer on FB this weekend that they were getting Dems and Indies that didn’t like the idea of a recall. One person told me that 20% of the people she was contacting was complaining about voting to recall a “duly elected” governor. I think a good portion of that 20% voted Walker for this reason. Just Crazy!!!
I agree dotser. I have been drilling into these numbers ever since they called this race and it doesn’t add up. Combine this with the fact that 400 precincts have still not reported in Milwaukee. I guess the exit polls in these precincts must be showing that they went heavy for Walker.
Frustrating to hear about WI results. I guess I’m gonna stay away from pol shows for the rest of the week.
Right now, I’m watching “Push Girls” on Sundance Channel. It’s about 4 girls who are in wheelchairs and all they want is to be treated as normal people. They are frustrated about being in a chair, but they are not letting being wheelchair-bound limit their lives. they wanna live life as normal as possible.
It’s inspiring and let’s you see what real frustration is.
I still say that it is the candidate. I truly believe that deep down the unions didn’t like barrett and they were kinda lukewarm to him. They really wanted feingold and one of barretts opponents. Also you have to consider that most students who voted in 2008 were not in school now. A lot of the student will be back in 2012 to vote for obama. Also you have a almost 20% of scott walker voters saying they will vote for obama. Also barrett was outspent 7-1. Obama will not be outspend by that much.
I guess I’m in denial because I just find it fascinating that this race has been called with over 400 counties that haven’t reported in the most populated area in the State (Milwaukee). Only 68 counties reported out of 479. Odd!!!
Claire, it wasn’t the media that was “going on and on” about turnout. It was actual voters who reported their personal experiences from the ground. That’s why people are having a hard time with this MSM calling for Walker – it just doesn’t ring true.
I will add further that the MSM was curiously silent about the WI election for much of the day. I still maintain my original position – that there is something fraudulent about this election.
The turnout is way down! All those phone calls and canvassing? Must have sandbagged!
Your right it is odd!
Did the media do this, to make it seem close?
Because, the President seemed to know not to go any where near this State for Barett! Just saying! The President was right, again!
So what polling stations running out of ballots, and all the extra ballots and extra poll workers that were needed due to heavier than expected turnout – this wasn’t reported by the MSM, it was reported and tweeted by people who were actually there. Something is amiss, VERY amiss.
NBainC called it for Walker to steal this thing. They did it to discourage those still waiting in line so they would leave and go home. And they did it to make Walker appear to be the rightful Governor is this thing goes to recount. Don’t believe the hype. This thing was STOLEN. They saw how bleak it looked for Walker this morning, with some Dem areas reporting over 100 percent turnout early in the day. And they say it’s close, that it’s 50-50, and that it’s going to be a long night. And then suddenly, it’s called for Walker within an hour? Bullshit. This was STOLEN.
Of course the election was stolen. The media was strangely silent about the WI election up until about 8PM this evening. I got the feeling that something was amiss since early morning. Now according to some posters here, they’re saying that turnout was actually LOW? What was all the reports about polling stations running out of ballots, etc?
Why are you implicating Barrett and not the people of WI who are complicit in this stupidity? Seriously, Jovie? I love you, but this is a bit much. You can get offended if you want to but this comment was so weird I had to respond. The next connection I could make is, if PBO loses–heaven forfend– in November, are you gonna compare his numbers in 2008 to his numbers in 2012 and ask whether he should retire? This was the WI peoples election to win or lose. They decided to lose. That’s all.
that wasn’t the problem in this election. the election in WI was already set up, it wouldn’t have mattered who the D was. All the WI people had to do was go vote with common sense and common purpose, somehow, a plurality of voters didn’t get that memo.
Goodnite Os. It’ll still be a great getting up day in TOD town in the morning. I’m looking forward to an MSM free day tomorrow. Gonna recharge my O batteries and get back on the horse. Me and Sasha have birthdays coming up within the week and no way Imma let this hiccup ruin it. I Ain’t No Ways Tired.
eh.. I’m gonna wait for every vote to be counted. Didn’t they get 1 million signatures for recall? shouldn’t that translate to a million or so votes? The media had no business calling this so early- whether the call was rightly for Walker or not.. when folks are still voting this is bs.. they pulled this crap years ago when Reagan ran. Anyhoo.. should Walker truly win, then my sincere condolences to Wisconsin and all of America as he has proven himself to already be willing to hurt workers with his policies. I don’t blame anyone except the true culprits.. the money that came from outside Wisconsin to tilt the spin and pull the wool over folks eyes.. many folks do not watch politics as we do.. they believe what they hear/ see on tv.. and they too often vote the way they purchase ice cream- how good is the ‘commercial/ad’.
I believe everyone who could- did their best to get Walker out.. and they’re going to be hurting, I feel for them. Eff the media, they are not and never will be our ‘friends’. Ignore their BS- or call them out on it.
TODville, educate me. Don’t all votes have to be counted? I’m confused by the fact that we encourage people to vote, complain (rightfully so) when turnout is low, yet refuse to acknowledge all and every vote? If media or whomever is going to call en election early in the count, why not just have a handful of people vote and base everything on that result? And why is the media calling an election taken as gospel? Do they have a special election power/mandate, written in the constitution maybe? It seemed to me that as soon as they called the election the majority accepted this as status quo. Haven’t they ever been wrong? I am truly confused by it all. Who is going to clarify this very weird IMO practice?
Thank you for that, hopefruit2! How do they delete these areas & just plain declare?! So basically they declared a winner minus the Dem areas? How f-upped is that? Just like Willard won IA? The MSM & the R’s are just plain untrustworthy. I will wait for all votes. Tomorrow or the next day. Do Not Concede!

Bullshit! Nothing has been counted yet. I smell a rat and the MSM is definitely in the tank for the thugs. ugh!
But Little Nate showed Walker winning with a solid 6 Pt lead.
Nate so changed when he moved to the NY Times – sad – he used to be independent.
Yay! To close to call! Phew! That means it is 3 or less points!
Wolf Blitzer on that 50%-50% exit poll: “It doesn’t get much closer than that.”
No Wolf, it doesn’t.
Fucking idjit.
Very astute!
I like listening to Wolf, Jovie, because he makes me feel like Einstein
lol he’s so stupid
“Wolf Blitzer” sounds like a name from James Bond.
True! Although I kind of prefer Blitz Wolfer, sounds a little bit more awesome.
Hmmmm… maybe he exists… and maybe, perhaps, he needs a Twitter account. Should we ask Snark?
He gets paid LOTS of $$$ to say that. Wow. What a brainiac.
WOOOOOTTTT!!!!
Yay! Go meta!
AWESOME!!
Oh Happy Day, meta!!!!
I just voted for PBO in Berkeley! Four more: I am fired up. Wisconsin just shows that we cannot let up: money doesn’t talk it swears.
A million fewer Dems voted in ’10 in Wi. than voted in ’08? (Rachel) That’s shameful. Handed the state to the Repubs on a silver platter. Every vote, every election matters.
Hope to the God of your choice that Dems are starting to learn that lesson. When we vote, we win. Simple as that.
Lord, I hope they learned their lesson and came out to vote today.
who is this asshole trivdei on the ballot ? A fucking firebagger ?
Let us also remember to monitor closely the 4 state senate seat recalls and the lieutenant governor. Flipping one senate seat gives control to theDems, meaning they can block anything Walker tries to do. Flipping the Lt Gov means if Walker does get arrested, if he were to win, we still would have a Dem gov. Of course, the best would be to have Barrett win, the Lt Gov flip and at least one senate seat flip.
Ok, if Barrett wins, I may have to pull out my clip from “Excalibur”. I hope that I have to.
Bam!!!
KAAAA … BOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM
#AmericaThisIsNotATest
#PRESSON
BTW, with that type of exit spread, no way Walker wins and no way is it as close as they are currently claiming ….
What do you think? Changing of the polling methodology, say, TOMORROW?
As noted above, LL, with type of spread no way Walker wins and no way is it as close as currently being portrayed …
And exits are usually pretty accurate. Which makes me wonder why they have it 50/50, when all the other numbers point to a significant win for Barrett.
Well, you know the folk at the moment touting those exits
Priebus knows the internals folk are commenting that he looks like he’s gonna puke …
#PRESSON
And, given how deeply involved in WI OFA has been, you know they’re feeding their internals to Barrett (and probably have been for weeks)
#PRESSON
Check this ….

This seems to further validate that Dems really showed up. OMG, this is wild.
As Venus is making her transit across the sun, she’s waving hello to all DEMS/PBO supporters and telling us don’t let Scott Walker remain in office. Thanks Venus for your kind words of support!!
you’re quite welcome.
Sincerely,
Cook e ‘the venus’ mom
She’s saying “Lets Go Wisconsin, Lets Defeat Scott Walker”
Well then!
What about the people still in line ? Are they staying or the thugs driving them away saying the poll is closed ?
From what I gather from the Twittertubes, they’re still in line. The People united can never be defeated!
Good. Hope they don’t fall for thugs’ lies.
DITTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
So Walker outspent Barrett 8 to 1 to have a result that is “too close to call?”
If you’re gonna spend that kind of money, you better have some solid, definitive, WIDE MARGIN results.
I’m watching the game. God, can the Heat and Celtics both lose? That would make this Laker fan very happy.
I’m watching Fairly Odd Parents and Pokemon.
Crowd gathered around capitol bldg. in Madison said to be singing “This Land is Your Land”——–
And here’s a good doggie:

LOVE that pic!!!!
Snark doesn’t:
Ha! Love the Snark. A very clever and witty twit peep. Agree?
Excuse me while I plotz.
With less than 1% Walker 57%, Barrett 42%. Obviously meaningless. I fully expect this to be a recount either way. We may not know the winner for weeks.
Be of good cheer, japa. I think we’re in for a pleasant surprise.
Japa, check the spread on Obama, Romney … have a nice glass of wine and prepare to celebrate …
Don’t they always count the GOP smaller areas first?
Here is a map of the polls and the numbers for each county.
http://m.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/152346265.html
9:07 PM: RNC chair and former Wisconsin GOP Chair Reince Priebus is on CNN talking about the results. He’s putting on a good show but pretty clearly he doesn’t feel like he knows what the results are going to be. Republicans and frankly most Democrats (at least outside the state) thought Walker was winning.
TPM-
I just heard him Jovie, he looked pretty shellshocked to me – he clearly thought this would be a stroll. Poor man.
One of those senate races is Compas, Dem against the Senate Rep leader, Fitzgerald. With 2% reproting Compas is leading 52% to 47%.
Now that’s a BFD.
Ah, you have to love CNN’s framing of this:
If Walker wins, it’s all PBO’s fault.
If Walker loses, it has NOTHING to do with PBO.
Okay, I get it.
If Walker loses it’s because of Clinton doncha know.
WOW!!
It’s gonna be a long night!
Do I allow myself to hope?
At first they said PBO up 6 in the exit polls, but those were preliminary numbers.
It’s up to …..PBO +12.
I’m so hoping for a Barrett win tonight………
Lots of reports of students being turned away from the polls b/c of GOP voter residency changes in WI
http://electionawareness.appspot.com/reports
with 2.2% walker leading by 5K. He is killing it in jefferson, fond du lac, forest, ocanto etc. There are deep red ?
CNN has walker up by 20k!!!
CNN also told us that a boy had gone up in a balloon.
CNN-
W 94k
B. 66k
That is…
Is Barett areas not being counted?
Stop watching CNN. That’s the answer to your question.
Now,
99-69
102-79 now!
And climbing.
I smell a rat!
Yeah the balloon looks kinda empty…somehow I doubt the little boy is really in there….
Dem areas are probably counted last so Kathy can work her magic.
As a side note, to show how much interest there is in this election. The Chicago Cubs are in Milwaukee playing my beloved Brewers. Normally this results in a close to sell out. I am watching it, unfortunatelyy as the Cubs are winning, and the ball park is about half full. I have a hunch people are glued to their TV sets.
I detest these people:
walker is leading in milwaukee ? This is not looking good.
Where are you getting this info from?
http://www.politico.com/2012-election/map/#/Governor/2012/Primary/WI
They have county by county.
I’m sorry but I just don’t trust anything that comes from Politico at this point. I will wait until all the actual results are counted and tabulated. People are still in lines waiting to vote.
AP total tallies with gopolitico. It’s 61-39% with 11% in. Also, the state senates, goopers are leading by double digits.
I think this is over.
????? I don’t know where this data is coming from, but it’s not correct, and will be likely adjusted sooner or later.
Milwaukee county includes s suburbs which would be Walker territory. Looking at some of the county results, which for most are still fairly early, I am somewhat optimistic. A lot of these Walker should be pulling in 70% and he isn’t.
And as I said, Milwaukee is only 4% in. Way too early still.
Yep. Lets keep calm, there are still Madison and the rest of Milwaukee.
Not going to happen, amk ….
Check the exit poll on Obama, Romney noted above … corporate media is in full denial …
#PRESSON
Only 4% reporting in Milwaukee so far.
I stilll can’t twatter, but here’s one from over there:
Andrew Kaczynski @BuzzFeedAndrew
RT @Bencjacobs: Barrett won 95% of the African American vote according to exits, up from 87% in 2010
My system is really slow tonight so please pardon me.
Cookemom, a few times I saw comments here saying that Ed was pushing PBO to go to WI, etc., etc. Did he change his tune tonight?
Huff n Puff 58-40 Walker, 8% reporting
Do you know why the MSM is first reporting heavy “Walker” areas?
To discourage the remaining DEM voters who are standing in line waiting to vote.
I mean it’s all red counties on the map. Not even close.
60-39%. Gross!
Go People of Wisconsin!!
Look at the map! They have counted way more rural areas. Also, absentee ballots get counted first.
Walker 163
Barrett. 104
Snark has the press beguiled:
Aw, Ed Henry’s being mean to Snark
CNN just updated the exit polls walker is leading by 4 points!!!
Uh huh, uh huh!
Uh huh..the balloon is slowing down..soon we will find out that the little boy is not inside as reported…
LOL
Where did u see that update? On the TV walker still leading by 23 pts
Definitely not good news for Walker …. and even worse for Romney and all Republicans given their #WarOnWomen …
#FORWARD
Sorry about the duplicate … the other was supposed to be this ….

I thought it would be a lot closer than this shit.

Can we just have a Presidential debate NOW, vote right after, hold the inauguration on July 4th and let the President keep LEADING and working?
Yep, I’m all for that! And fireworks will have a whole new meaning!
Oh no—NBC calls for Walker. Boooooooooooo!
It was not even close! Look at the numbers. Old Nate was right!
According to Rachel Maddow, NBC is calling it for Scott Walker. I wonder how many people are still standing in line?
NBC news just called it for walker.
Not even close!
It’s over! Wisconsin, the President was right to stay out of there. They knew!!!
Ed Schutz is mad as hell!
I am floored. Walker projected winner.
NBC calls it for Walker with 21% in. Hmmmmmmm…..sorry folks, but I still am VERY suspicious of this result.
VERY suspicious……extra turnout for Walker? AA for Walker?? NO way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess all the extra turnout was for walker …wow
on to the next…
Wisconsin loves their Governor. Good for you Guys.
Now, onto the Boisterous MSM calls for national Austerity.
Yuck!
Jesus.
WI fucked up. Yet again. Disgusting.
No, the voters didn’t. The Dem turnout was as high or in some areas higher than 08. Obama supporters showed +12 over Romney supporters. Something stinks, and it stinks real bad.
They just love Walker! How about the state senate?
We need just one!
Per AP, all the thugs, except one where counting hasn’t started, are leading by double digit blowouts, just like walker.
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/files/elections/2012/by_state/WI_Page_0605.html?SITE=CSPANELN&SECTION=POLITICS
I don’t think WI dems & labor didn’t think through this recall that well.
The only good thing today is that Obama still leads mittbot there per exit polls.
My heart can’t take this evening.
Now the koch brothers and Rove are really going to be full of themselves. This is frightening.
nor mine Claire.
Glad to see that I’m not the only one…my BS alarm is ringing loudly, and I have an extremely fine-tuned BS regulator…
Folk need to chill, hf. It’s an election, and no one wins until the votes are counted.
#PRESSON
This is unbelievable. How could so many exit polls be wrong??
UNBELIEVABLE!!! I am just speechless! We HAVE to get the vote out in November.
Good job Wisconsin, thanks for not keeping up all night in suspense.
Wow, that CITIZENS UNITED ruling is devastating. The money buys the message. WOW!!!
The outside $$ was ridiculous, shady, sneaky, and nasty. We have to organize EVEN MORE NOW!!!
Now, Wisconsin needs to indict SCOTT WALKER. I’m sure they will blame this one on PBO.
I DON’T CARE.
OBAMA/BIDEN 2012!!!
What happened in the Senate races? Anyone know?
isonprize this is not about Citizens United. The turnout was as high as one could reasonably expect for Democrats and PBO supporters. We are going to find out that this election was stolen. Probably that will be revealed at some point AFTER the Nov 2012 election. Mark my words.
I only mention Citizens United because of all of the “outside” “unidentified” SUPERPAC money that is being raised by Re-thugs.
Only 8% of Milwaukee is counted—-with Walker up by about 500 votes. Don’t get it.
Hi everyone, I am very upset about WI, as we watch this….it’s called already….unbelievable, ALREADY?
Is this anoterh Iowa? Remeber Iowa.
OOps, meant “another” and “Remember”.
how can the election be called with only 21% in? that’s stupid.
I’m predicting that we’re gonna find out that this election was stolen – maybe not tonight, maybe not next week, or even next month, but in time we will learn exactly what happened. And I’m telling you that the WI results tonight are among the fishiest set of election results I’ve ever seen in the last 3 years.
how can they call it already when it’s barely been an hour?
Hopefruit2, I’m with you on this issue!!! Wisconsin was a test case for Rove, Koch & Co. in more ways than one. If this total stands, they will think that they can buy elections. SERIOUSLY. But silly me, I still think JUSTICE WILL PREVAIL.
WE JUST HAVE TO WORK EVEN HARDER. America, THIS IS NOT A TEST!
Obama/Biden 2012
I’m donating again to Obama Victory Fund.
It was all crap! They said 50-50 exit polls. Within one half hour and walker ahead by 150k votes they changed the exit polls!
Amazing!
This reminds me of Ohio and Kerry.
They can’t blame PBO for this. They wanted their gov. so they got him. Over 100,000+ vote spread at this point.
Yup. They’ll get the
governmentausterity they wanted. They Luv Walker in Wisconsin! How cute! Aww! Jeesh! Stupid is as stupid does.
I am with you lisa. You get the government you voted for.
Milwaukee only 8% reporting; Dane 25%. I’m waiting.
They see Walker leading in those counties, which is why they called it!
Barrett’s leading in Dane, and Milwaukee is only 8%. I’m just gonna settle in for a long night.
Barrett is way ahead in Dane —-Madison— and it is even in Milwaukee now—–and I expect Barrett to win there by a comfortable margin when all is counted.
And people in those DEM areas are STILL voting right now as we post!!
Madison and Milwaukee remain largely uncounted at this point …
#PRESSON
Projections with 40% reporting. It ain’t over yet!
Um, it’s starting to get closer — 59 to 41.
Yes, and people are STILL in line waiting to vote -how can the media call the election when folks haven’t voted yet?!?!?
THIS, THIS, and THIS. There should be no reports until actual votes are counted. SERIOUSLY. In my opinion, “exit polls” should be illegal.
#PRESSON
How are projections made?
He is 180k votes behind! MSNBainC fooled us all.
I still don’t think they can beat the President, but if I were them I would throw 1 billion into congressional races and try to get a veto proof congress.
This is what happened to Germany in 1930!
And the media is partially to blame!
I’ve been talking about the parallels to the 1930s ever since the TP was astroturfed. Time to square our shoulders and work harder.
Sick
That was an email from the RNC then, because CNN just said the same thing!
Here is a pic of a line in downtown in Milwaukee just a few minutes ago: people are still voting

OK folks. Let Wisconsinites stab their eyes with sharp forks repeatedly.
Let’s put this nightmare behind us and redouble our efforts for November across the board in all districts.
Seriously guys, you HAVE to see this…live Venus transit of the SUN not going to see it again for 105 years: http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/
I do not believe it! Period. Something isn’t right.
Congress is a big fat target now!
Wisconsin results county by county: It’s all over folks and it really sucks. http://www.jsonline.com/
The votes are not all counted in and people are still in line to vote. It’s NOT OVER yet.
Jeff: I’m with you.
Jeff…I feel the same way. How can Americans be bought so easily. I’m sick..heart sick…
Someone else said, on LOD, that he was right not to go,
Also, on this blog, days ago, a comment in effect said they did it to themselves and had to fix it for themselves, even tho they were warned. You reap what you sow.
True! Remind me never to go to Wisconsin! Jeesh!
CNN said that exit polls way off, that to discount the President winning there.
Lol!
Hold on Jovie, CNN, for all their gazillion faults, said nothing of the sort!! They talked about exit poll that showed PBO way ahead of Romney!!
Quoting what Ari said. You know, Ari fleisher?
Ah jeez Jovie, Ari Fleisher?!?! Gimme a break!!!!!
For real!
I’m seeing a lot of tweets of “suspicion” and when increasing numbers of people are uncomfortable with a result…something is probably brewing…
I won’t believe it until every last vote is counted.
Correct and ….
#PRESSON
Exactly. I thought people are still voting?.are they trying to discourage people?
are they trying to discourage people?
Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding!! YOU WIN THE PRIZE, Smoothscotch
yep. that’s right. that’s exactly what they are doing. “Oh it’s all over we might as well give up and go home” That’s what our buddies at the-mouth-piece-for-the-GOP want. They want people to just give up and go home. Screw these guys. I hope those ppl that are standing in line do not give up and leave. every vote counts.
oh and when I say buddies? I mean the MSM
I’m with you Bob I’m gonna wait until this is over. I’m glad to see that Barrett is not conceding.
W_O_S, and therein lies the problem. I really don’t think every vote will get counted. These are some lyin’ thievin’ stealin’ ratbastards.
I know. I wonder if this really is a democracy anymore? It’s a sick joke.
I think the most of double digit margin came from dems themselves. Otherwise a 17% point spread is unthinkable.
Center left country. My foot.
No way WI! Is this it? Really? Have they finished counting?
No they haven’t finished counting and people haven’t finished voting yet.
OK. Why are the media sending this shit out now. Barrett don’t concede. DO NOT! Every vote counts. This whole thing could change in another hour.
I saw a tweet that said the Republicans held the Senate as well. Is that true? UGH.
Yes. Devastating.
Exit polls have gone from 50-50 prediction to a “late adjustment” of 52-48. hmmmm.
Calling an election when people are still in line is disrespectful to those voters and to Democracy itself. It should be illegal and the media should not be allowed to do this. They think they are running the damn country.
#PRESSON
thank you. RT’d
Just so you aware, no one on the DEM side has conceded this race. All the votes aren’t in yet. This is STILL not over.
Gore was the projected winner of Florida and the presidency in 2000.
Gore WAS the winner of Florida and the Presidency in 2000.
Agreed.
and the call was correct, gore was the winner. It took the SCOTUS to overturn the result.
HF….you have said this multiple times…………..Right on Right on…..
well,
I need to puke!!!!
simply disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow. I have just gotten home. What the hell happened? Isn’t it illegal to post results when people are voting?
I have to admit after hearing reports about the outstanding turnout, I thought it meant good things for Tom Barrett. I am so totally depressed right now, I can’t stand it. After my own high about voting for PBO, I just can’t believe this Wisconsin result. So awful
I need th through up now.
err throw up..can’t think I’m shaking!!
@Barrett4WI hanging in …. correctly ….
This is not over folk.
#PRESSON
I was so wondering about M/M/R — it just didn’t make sense that they called it before all those votes were counted. I’ll hope for the best. I just don’t want to hear “concede” before all votes are in.
Now, this is a funny tweet!
Are those areas big DEM areas?
Enormous Dem
Then if there is a large population there, how can they call the race?, did walker get more than 50% of what’s already in?
The explanation I am getting is exit polling. They have polled these areas and Walker must be leading and even with people still in line there are not enough votes to overtake Walkers lead. Therefore they can project based on these assumptions.
So far there are just over 1/2 million votes for Barrett. He got over a million votes in the 2010 election.
any one know what is REALLY going on in WI???
Something stinks!
Tweet that to Ari!
I mean to cast no aspersions (I’m an ole middle aged white dude myself
)! But unions need a younger more DIVERSE leadership NOW in my opinion.
AS HF HAS SAID…THIS IS NOT OVER…FOLKS ARE STILL VOTING ….STILL IN LINE….SOMETHING IS FISHY ABOUT THIS…….
I saw that from WP “Most stunning number tonight: 17 percent of Obama supporters say they backed Walker. ”
I just tweeted it……I don’t even know what to say……I’ve never seen anything like this, calling an elections when people are still voting.
Can someone please explain to me how can the exit polls show President Obama with a twelve point lead over Romney, but yet shoot themselves in the head by voting for Walker?
Wow, ya’ll who are retching. Please, please, feel better. We have a LONG WAY UNTIL NOVEMBER. This is just a tune-up.
WE NEED EVERYONE STRONG, and READY FOR THE FIGHT!!! We all must be ready to STAND!!!
that’s right Ison – we sure do.

But but but Nate said…
I just do not understand how you can support PBO AND vote for Walker. Makes ZERO sense. ZERO.
Okay, so they don’t mind living under corporate rule? I get it now. Just hope none of them move to my state.
I agree dotser. I have been drilling into these numbers ever since they called this race and it doesn’t add up. Combine this with the fact that 400 precincts have still not reported in Milwaukee. I guess the exit polls in these precincts must be showing that they went heavy for Walker.
These results are pretty disappointing.
Good night guys. Going back to work tomorrow.
Thats the difference between D’s and R’s. D’s fall in love and R’s fall in line.
I guess I’m in denial because I just find it fascinating that this race has been called with over 400 counties that haven’t reported in the most populated area in the State (Milwaukee). Only 68 counties reported out of 479. Odd!!!

Look at this map?-

The turn out numbers so far are are low. The media kept going on and on about the large turn out. This is odd.
I’ve been thinking the same thoughts
In 2010, barrett lost by 124k, today he is losing by 250k votes.
Maybe Barett should retire?
Why are you implicating Barrett and not the people of WI who are complicit in this stupidity? Seriously, Jovie? I love you, but this is a bit much. You can get offended if you want to but this comment was so weird I had to respond. The next connection I could make is, if PBO loses–heaven forfend– in November, are you gonna compare his numbers in 2008 to his numbers in 2012 and ask whether he should retire? This was the WI peoples election to win or lose. They decided to lose. That’s all.
Oh! It has nothing to do with the Person running? Gotcha!
that wasn’t the problem in this election. the election in WI was already set up, it wouldn’t have mattered who the D was.
Ignore their BS- or call them out on it.
my two cents.
I second your rant.
It is not over till the fat lady sings. I am going to bed. If the fools voted for Walker I hope a Katrina comes and wash them all away.
Barrett already conceded. But I continue to maintain my original position that this election was stolen.
