Hi! It’s only me testing the waters.
I’m home early, BUT I haven’t done tomorrow’s prep yet; was just sneaking a peAk and got lucky.
“sneaking a peak” You made me laugh,vc! Shout out to Romney poor spellers……every day, new spelling issue.
Hi there, Df! I notice you’ve been enjoying your well-earned break, by working hard tracking down info.
I am enjoying my new found freedom! Too hot to be outside now, so here I sit…sleuthing and talking to my TOD family……trying to be 1st again…..:) Listening to Al Green on the radio….just, hanging. Hugs, and congrats!
congratulations VCPREZ on #1
Thanks, my dear! Any time I get near the podium this month I’m considering it a miracle. Now I’m off to complete tomorrow’s plans so that I can feel ‘free’ to check out what the Pres and you guys had to say today. It’s not much tonight, so if I do the bare necessities it hopefully won’t take longer than 30-45 minutes. See ya all a little later!
2nd! (hey, what am I doing here?)
Protecting the first position in the hope I might have dropped by? Well it worked, THANKS!
Wooooooot! Helloooooooooooo VC!
Hellooo, Chips, PBO, VPJoe, and whoever you are there smiling at me too! Always feel sweet to be welcomed home warmly.
Hey Chipsticks! you forgot me on the last thread. Do I have to report this international incident to my new BFF POTUS????
Beverly Hills, last night
My have guys.
Nope. VC has it!!
I was just a whisper ahead of you, Derbingle, so I hope you’ll share the smiles from OUR GUYS . One of them is wide enough to encompass quite a few of us TOBobots.

You should get a twitter account Jovie and have at it
I don’t have the AP. But you the Man!
the picture of robme in the white car is hilarious! that should be a tee shirt.
And let’s see the 2 opposing clips, a recent one where Willard said his funds are in a blind trust and he has no way of knowing his investments, and then a past clip where Willard calls a blind trust “a ruse”, that of course people know where their money is and asserted that anyone claiming differently was lying.
YES! Side by side….
That’s a good idea I think, with the contrast up close and right there in the viewer’s face.
HA! That one’s good.
Wow, another amazing Airforce 1 photo with PBO!!!!!!!!!!! I loved the one I saw just the other day and now this one in this post is equally as cool! Pete Souza I am your biggest fan!
Amazing pictures. Locally, the press is great. Nationally, not so much. Because, having a hands on Predident going in and out of Colleges, and Communities, is good for Business.
It just is…
Text from Campaign-
For the first time in this campaign, we got beat in fundraising by Romney and the GOP. Help close the gap right now: http://txt.bo/3t/he749
I put myself on auto donate until November…..I hope it helps.
What are all these tweets about “giving up”? “You can’t win if you give up” etc. Who is talking about “giving up”????????? No one I know. How ridiculous to even put that out there.
Who said that? Ezra Klein and Jonathan Alter, are the only Two I have Heard…
We know who said that : Team Romney. Gotta find a way to close that enthusiam gap b4 November gets here.
Help if you are able! These are the good guys, for sure.
I’ve just been lurking since Walker wasn’t recalled. I didn’t want to bring my mood here. I think aside from Walker, I was just tired of all the lies Repubs tell. Anyway, I’m much better now. Fired up!!! Ready to go!!!
Again, the President was not on Ballot, so nobody voted.
Btw- where has DWS been? I hope her Health is well, has me wondering?
Now that you mention it, Jovie, the last time I heard from DWS (personally, VC?? ) it was when she averred she was going to Wisconsin. Hopefully all is well healthwise. It’s sure harder to keep track of folks when you’re only dropping in yourself. I’m already planning to not accept any long term work in early November.
I read somewhere that the youth and AAs turned out better than they did in 2010.
ROMNEY DODGED THE DRAFT
First he didn’t “desire” to serve, but didn’t evade it. Then he “longed” to go. The truth: he got four deferments
By Joan Walsh
Mitt Romney changed his story on poverty in St. Louis Thursday. Where in February, during the GOP primary, he said “I’m not concerned about the very poor,” today he called rising poverty rates “a moral failure” – and blamed it on President Obama. But Romney supports Paul Ryan’s budget, which would slash food stamps, Head Start, Medicaid, nutrition programs for pregnant women and their children, and his tax plan would raise taxes on the poor and working class while giving himself an extra five million or so. Mitt, you got it right the first time: You’re not concerned about the very poor.
But Romney’s shifting stories on his Vietnam status could have real political consequences, as an Associated Press expose revealing that he sought and got four deferments from military service during the Vietnam War gets more play. It’s not the deferments that will hurt – Dick Cheney got five. It’s the fact that over the years, Romney has lied about it.
@markknoller Oh, so that totally explains why crowds go wild whenever Obama is around! They're fired up about that pretty presidential seal!— (@aspirational12) June 07, 2012

Our President likes to get love from the crowds
The only people talking about giving up on President Obama are either out-and-out Rightwingers or secret Repubs. There’s no way that any sensible Dem would advocate anything but fighting, organizing and donating time and money to keep our President in the White House for another 4 years.
I have a feeling that Romneybot 2.0 will mess up many times between now and the elections. He’s not likable. He’s a liar. He’s a 1%. There is nothing presidential about him at all.
Love this website — the pictures cheer me up and make me smile. Thanks to the people who keep it going.
Evening TOD. The young lady who sang the national anthem at the UNLV event was a high school classmate of mine and a current friend from facebook. She was over the moon 2 days ago when the white house called to get her phone number and background information since she would be on the same podium as POTUS. She was on cloud nine since then and she took a picture with him that she posted to FB. She described her experience and said much of the same thing you all who have met him have said. He’s peronable, and so nice and makes you feel like you are the only person in the room worth talking to…lol.
Hmmm. Matthews and other pundits say he doesn’t connect with people. Who should I believe; my own eyes or their lies???
“The eyes don’t lie..amen” (Smiling Faces/Edwin Starr)
White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters aboard Air Force One on Thursday that President Barack Obama is committed to preventing leaks of sensitive and classified information but opposes an independent investigation into recent suspected White House leaks.
From the transcript:
Reporter: There have been calls from Congress for an independent counsel to investigate that. Is that something the President would agree to?
MR. CARNEY: No. As I said, the President takes this very seriously. I refer you to agencies that are tasked with investigating these kinds of matter. And, again, this is something that the President insists that his administration take all appropriate and necessary steps to prevent leaks of classified information or sensitive information that could risk our counterterrorism operations.

@markknoller: Not sure why the need to 'report' dessert purchase, the type & number. Are you REQUIRED to keep financial tabs on the family?— Vick C. (@sonamie) June 07, 2012
Knoller, not Snark, is obsessed with the pie purchase, tweeting Michelle quotes from the pie purchase, and her selections. I think he wishes she was buying them for him. I think he’s hungry for pie. He’s having a pie breakdown.
Yup, he wants every morsel of what she bought. He must be drooling all over that IPAD/cellphone/computer key board, which will have to replaced soon from the damage.
I told him that PBO has already claimed both pies.
maybe he wants us to know that their dessert does indeed include fruit? touching concern for the first family’s health.
p.s.–actually, now i’m hungry for pie too.
Sounds good but I can beat it as I stopped by a fruit veggie stand on my way home and bought fresh local grown strawberries and sugar free vanilla ice cream for tonight!
Do Mark Knoller call himself a journalists? What kind of self respecting journalists reports that the First Lady bought two pies?
LOL! And CBS even has video footage of this historic event…our grandchildren will be required to LEARN all about this First Lady’s Pie Pilgrimage for their history classes.

Romney to NFIB ‘make it very clear’ to your employees how to vote
“I hope you make it very clear to your employees what you believe is in the best interest of your enterprise and therefore their job and their future in the upcoming elections,
Romney laughed, saying “nothing illegal” about informing your employees, even if it may be inferred as a threat to losing their jobs.
Ok I know anything goes for them but if THAT is not illegal, I don’t know what is
I knew I heard that somewhere else…LOOK WHAT I FOUND!
Whooaaa is right! This needs to get around! Sounds like a threat to me…
The Attack on Pensions and The End of the American Dream
By Bob Cesca
Thanks Ladyhawke for sharing this. Many of us in San Diego are devastated about this. The Republican campaign of more than 30 years against public employees is finally paying off. Sadly, the side calling for elimination of pensions for San Diego’s public employees had all the money and blanketed television and radio with non-stop demonization of public employees. People really have short attention span. They’ve quickly forgotten how the financial collapse of 2008 decimated 401Ks!
Is PBO losing his hair on the sides? God I hope not. Michelle looks like a Queen with her handbag and outfit.
He’s 50+, not 20. Some hair loss is to be expected. No biggie.
FYI To Our MSM — Those Doom Obama polls come from a GOP Public Relations Spin Firm, Purple Strategies led by Alex Castellanos #LookItUp— Jeff Gauvin (@JeffersonObama) June 07, 2012
Alex Castellanos is the GOP person that would not let Rachel Maddow talk on the Sunday Meet the Press a few weeks ago.
Okay TOD I need to express something that has been bothering me of late and seeing the fundraising numbers from both camps today has brought this to a head for me.
In the 2007/2008 campaign we all worked really hard to elect PBO President. He had a formidable opponent in Hillary Rodham Clinton. The campaign dragged on into June of 2008 even though PBO had technically won the nomination in March of that year. We raised tons of money and when he was ready to go up against McCain he had more than enough in his coffers to apply the knockout punch.
We turned every adversity that was endured into a pot of gold for the campaign. When Hillary surprisingly won the NH primary people donated to O in droves. When she refused to concede the campaign even when it was hopeless we kept out raising her every month. As we were subjected to that hideous “Celebrity” ad the entire month of August we just kept giving the money. When that witch gave that lipstick speech at the Republican National Convention the Obama Campaign raised 10 million in 24 hours.
Where is that same drive that PBO’s supporters had in 2007/2008? What happened to that overwhelming need to always out do our opponent and turn lemons into lemonade for the campaign? I realize that times are tougher. We are coming out of one of the worse economic crisis in more than 50 years and unemployment is still relatively high and folks are hurting but the reality is that 80% of this country is still gainfully employed. I don’t mean to trivialize unemployment because I know its real but these are the facts.
I know that Citizens United changed some of this so I’m not speaking to the PAC money. I am exclusively talking about the direct campaign donations.
PBO is doing way more fundraisers in California and NY (big money) than he did at this stage in 2008. I followed his campaign back then as closely as I do today. I can recall getting emails from the campaign saying if we can raise X dollars in the next 72 hours, he won’t have to do a fundraiser in X city and instead he will be able to do a rally at XYZ. We always came through. There was no challenge that we wouldn’t meet and exceed.
I see him flying across country doing 3 or 4 fundraisers a day on back to back days and it makes me think, “Why does he have to do it all”?
I know that PBO still has a tremendous amount of support out there but I also think that many, many people are asleep at the wheel. Waiting for the debates or Labor Day to come out and show their support will be a mistake IMO. Romney’s Gazzillionare PAC’s will have filled the airwaves by that point.
So my request to all of you is to please talk to your neighbors, friends, co-workers and family that support PBO and ask them if they would be willing to make a small donation to ensure that he is re-elected this fall. If they can’t donate then ask if they can spare an hour volunteering at a local OFA office.
We need all hands on deck NOW!
We need all hands on deck now!!
i had the same thought: the man has the hardest day job in the world. then he has to fly around the country shaking hands to raise funds to make it possible that he continue to do the hard job for us?
i know everybody wants to see him, touch him, and feel they’re a real part of his presidency. but if you love the man, send money without demanding he sit at your table, or give you an after-dinner speech. we need to do our job, so he can do his job.
and thanks, donna, for reminding us.
I fear that Dems are really demoralized now. I hope this will change no later than the convention.
I don’t think that Dems are demoralized. I think that they did take for granted that once they got him elected their job was done. Most all will come out and vote in November but we need them doing far more than just waiting to vote in November. We need them super-engaged in this re-election similar to the way they were in 2008.
As I said above, I don’t feel like I have been able to sit back, relax and take this Presidency for granted at all … not even for one day, due to the GOP, Congress, the “noise” (as Michelle calls it) prior to the 2010 elections, the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Fox News ….. I want to be able to enjoy this Presidency and what this great man has done. When will I get to?
I don’t think Dems are demoralized either, but there sure are plenty of people attempting to demoralize. The media is a huge problem, more interested in stirring up controversy and double alarm alerts than anything resembling honest reporting. I see many who should be on our side “off message” or talking pessimistically every chance they get. I see pastors on twitter saying “don’t give up” and people responding they won’t, but that plants that negative flavor. I see Eldridge Cleaver on Rev. Al talking about a lame duck session “if Romney should win”, planting that possibility. Not helpful. I hate the Cit. United decision—it’s thrown our democracy and elections into turmoil and a big money game. It’s forcing PBO to spend most of his time chasing fundraisers as that is the reality and he has to to try to remain competitive with the Kochs and other billionaire contributors to Willard. Many have noted it is time for the big money Dems to step up to the plate. There are many in the entertainment and sports world, as well as others in the bsns. community, who have more money than their great great great great great great great great granchildren will ever need. Do something patriotic, unselfish and useful with your money. Help save our country. And in the meantime President Obama has an army of determined supporters and volunteers who are not demoralized, who would never even consider the possibility, who will donate as much as they possibly can and work as hard as they possibly can to ensure the re-election of this most gifted president.
I don’t think DEMS are demoralized. In Winter/Spring of 2008, PBO was engaged in an extremely heated battle with HRC, and so people were highly attuned and engaged. I saw a tweet that in May of ’08, PBO/DNC had raised a total of $21M and McCain had raised roughly the same amount. Now he has raised almost three times that, so I’m not sure how this compares unfavorably to 2008 – especially seeing that he’s currently not in a heated battle as he will be in the last few months of the election.
I don’t sense Democrats are demoralized! Most People don’t even know who Walker is and don’t watch Cable News.
Really,why would Democrats be demoralized?
Everyone I talk to want to see President Obama re-elected, we don’t have time to be demoralized.
So maybe it’s just people who watch too much TV and spend too much time on Twitter. (Who? Me?? ).
And that my friend is why when you volunteer at an OFA office one of the first things they suggest is that you turn off cable tv.
We need our supporters inspired and engaged to fight the good fight for our President.
Donna dem4obama – God bless you! You say everything I want to say and you say it so well.
Demoralized? Who? What for?
Ask youself…Are you doing your part and reading and thinking for yourself or just being led by the nose by puppet masters?
ARE YOU IN?
Wake up people and stop the drama!
Come January 2013, we won’t have the chance for a “do-over”. As Bobfr says “America, this is NOT a Test”!
For the networks and cable and the entire pundit class, this isn’t an election, it’s a soap opera. They are pushing their BS to the limits and they are selling it morning, noon and night. They stand to profit big by the constant jerking of emotions and their doing their damnedest to get people to buy it. The only thing you’re learning from them is we are doomed. It’s all BUNK.
Why would Dems be demoralized now? On the contrary I think we are doing ok. Like Messina said the other day “I’d rather be us than them” on the way things are going. As long as we don’t take anything for granted we will be fine.
That was a historic primary. That kind of excitement that we saw in the Obama/Clinton showdown won’t happen again for a decades. The last campaign to match the excitement of ’08 was when JFK was running in ’68. So it’s not fair to measure 2012 against 2008. Secondly, all of this will pick up once the campaign really starts. I’m talking about when POTUS and Romney really start traveling and having rallies all around the country. That’s when things will get real. Right now, it’s still just us Obots and political junkies paying attention to this stuff. This thing hasn’t even really started yet. Remember, you can’t compare this to ’08. We won’t see that kind of excitement again for probably 40 years.
You mean RFK in 68?
donna dem 4 obama: I did not follow the fundraising aspects of the 2008 campaign and am not following them now, except I do note that at this early stage President Obama is doing more big fundraisers, many with celebrities. I think the re-election may be more crucial than the election was. I also think that people know him now (including the stars) and they want to do a fundraiser for him and have him speak. I too wish that his schedule was not so packed; I hope his energy level can sustain. I would love to give more; but I have already given several times (as a matter of fact, and this too makes me feel like our 2008 campaign has never ended) I have given (small amounts, it is all I can do) for 5 years. I belong to and give to the DNC; I give when I get a letter in the mail from Michelle Obama, Nancy Pelosi. I am on every conceivable Democratic Party list I suppose. I have given to Democratic senatorial or gubernatorial candidates in other states. So right now, unless the plea is especially urgent, I am biding my time and monies. Are there other commenters here who feel the same way and have done the same thing, given, and given …
This article about “frustrated liberals” at the Netroots Nation conference kind of gets at why some of the donations may not be as big and as frequent as last time. I hate the “disappointed liberal” meme but these folks do exist. They thought PBO was going to solve all their problems and all the worlds problems and that hasn’t been done. Anyway this is a potential component to what donna dem is expressing about “supporters.”
Huffington Post? Nuff Said.
The article is originally from the AP. Huffpo just reposts everything from different media outlets.
AP – even worse. Not credible in my honest opinion.
If this were the only time I’d heard it, I might say its a one off. Unfortunately hearing with my own ears, I know that there is some truth. Donna dem made a salient point; there are lots of people still sitting on their hands and wallets. I think things will pick up as the article indicates and even people who may not donate will indeed vote for PBO.
Well, there are many things that we hear repeatedly about President Obama that are just MSM memes – not based in fact. The polling and fundraising numbers do not support the idea that “Liberals are demoralized” PBO has ALWAYS maintained a remarkably solid approval among “liberal DEMS” even when his approvals were low elsewhere.
AP is right-leaning and latches on to any “doom n gloom for Obama” narrative like white on rice.
I will also add that over the last 3 years, the media has repeatedly pushed false memes about Obama losing damn near every group under the sun – Blacks, youth, women, Liberals, Independents, Catholics, Black preachers, Jews, Latinos, Blue-collar white men, LGBT, college students, you name it. The “liberals” who now claim to be disappointed never supported PBO in the first place.
Some people are not particularly engaged in the elections at this time of year, not because they are demoralized or disappointed, but because it is still relatively early and the President has been in an uncontested primary. By the time the DNC convention rolls around, you will note the difference.
No No No…I’m not saying that you should give any more than you can give. My point is that we need to pull some of those people who are sitting on the sidelines waiting until the “campaign gets exciting” to give NOW if they can. Once a person donates they feel invested and therefore become more engaged in the process which helps to ensure success.
Daisydem, I have been doing the same thing for years. Except I don’t usually give money when I receive letters from Michelle Obama and Nancy Pelosi, because I give a small amount monthly to OFA and the DNC. I also give to the DCCC and the DSCC, and I’ve been giving money to Senator Menendez’s campaign. I usually wind up giving again to OFA so I could help reach their fundraising goal. In fact I just got an E-mail from Jim Messina and gave again today.
If every eligible voter on his FB and twitter donated $1/day it would be more than $2 billion. We need to expand pool of donors.
Timeline: How Obama Dug America Out of a Depression
By: Sarah Jones
What is clear though is that Obama has gotten the country moving in the right direction again. Republicans will continue to argue that the country is falling apart and all is going wrong, but look at the chart. The numbers don’t lie.
Obama’s argument will be that there is lots of room for improvement, and if given four more years, the economy continue to grow. What is clear is that a country on the verge of total collapse was saved by this president. His reelection may hinge on whether or not voters are convinced that he is the man to lead the country into the next phase of recovery.
Bain bashing working!!!
Notice, the GOP is trying to rough up Holder on Fast and Furious, with 4 hour Hearings today.
They want Him to be pre occupied and not Go after the Florida voting Purge!

This latest media lie about POTUS making an oral sex joke abt FLOTUS shows the media has a sick, sexual obsession with the Obamas.— PragmaticObotsUnite (@PragObots) June 07, 2012
What ? What the heck is that about ?
It was so stupid and sophomoric, you don’t EVEN want to know.
Ashleigh Banfield is like Nancy Grace…..
She came from Court TV…
BTW… I didn’t even bother listening……
hopefruit2 who is the media which made that lie up?
I’m with you Linda, what is this B.S. about?
At the LGBT fundraiser President Obama made a joke about FLOTUS’s pushups on the Ellen Show, and said that she doesn’t go all the way down when she’s doing push ups with him. Now anyone who does push ups knows exactly what the President meant – in fact when I saw the video of FLOTUS and Ellen, the first thing I noticed was that Ellen’s pushups were lower than FLOTUS. But the perverted media jumped on PBO’s joke as a “double entendre” with a sexual reference to a blow job, and they’ve been at it since, including Troll Poll Knoll.
And now, Sherman Fredrick a Las Vegas Review columnist tweeted a disgusting remark about AF1 going down lower than FLOTUS and thankfully he’s been getting a LOT of pushback on Twitter.
I wanted to vomit when I read his tweet…..I’ve never seen so much disrespect in my life,………
This is much to do about nothing. Except for those whose mind are in the filthy gutter.
How do I contact that bastard Sherman Frederick? And why did TeaNN feel it deserve there attention?
The first place I saw this was on Politico. Byron Tau suggested that PBO had some “naughty” intentions with the comment. Now that I’ve seen the tape for myself, it’s clear that he was caught off guard by the way the crowd reacted to the comment.
these people in the media are sick!
The Caninet Secretaries are going on fundraisers and policy events, across battleground States. Starting this Month.
I guess, all hands on Deck!
I thought they weren’t allowed to campaign. Is Hillary campaigning?
Hillary and Panetta- No!
What happened? Did the TOD Family tell everybody to stop watching that $h!t?

It was the tee that caught my eye, anniebella, these people are beyond disgusting.
yep, that’s a head scratcher. so, if you’re pro-god and pro-life, i kinda get that. but where does pro-gun fit in? aren’t most guns designed and sold for killing people? and isn’t god against that? you know, taking life and all? maybe that’s why the message is on the back of her shirt–she can’t face people who might ask what the heck her tee shirt means.
Guns are about violence and guns are about hatred and fear.
That t-shirt tells you all you want about right wingers. They are absolutely immune to irony.
Looks like Rush…
He sure does, DF!
I would bet you 10k that pig is voting against his own interest because he hate PBO.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) made a new offer to Republicans Thursday to break an impasse over legislation to prevent interest rates on student loans from doubling.
Reid, in a letter to GOP leaders on Thursday, forwarded on a pair of pension-related proposals that he said could cover the roughly $6 billion cost of extending the current loan rates for a year, at 3.4 percent, and also help finance surface transportation programs.
Good thing Obama's plane, unlike wife, goes all the way down. RT @KTNV "Air Force One is landing now."— Sherman Frederick (@shermfrederick) June 07, 2012
This vile tweet belongs to a Las Vegas Review Journal columnist by the name of Sherman Frederick.
Ok, TOD family. Time to show and prove. This is disgusting and we cannot let this stand. This man would never write such a nasty tweet about Ann Romney. And if he did, he’d be fired. Some of us are already making calls and now all of us need to be making calls.
First off, if you are on Twitter, retweet this so as many people as possible can see.
Secondly, call the Las Vegas Review Journal. Their number is 702-383-0264. They will try to pass the buck and say that Sherman is simply a freelancer and they have nothing to do with him. Let them know that you are boycotting the LVRJ, calling the NAACP and women’s organizations on them, and that you are disgusted that they approve of such hateful sexist language against the First Lady.
The LVRJ journal people will try to pass you off to a company called Stephens Media, which they claim employs Sherman. Their number is 702- 383-0211. I haven’t been able to get through to them, but keep calling.
Lastly, there’s a man by the name of Bob Brown who is Sherman Frederick’s boss. I’m about to call him in the next few minutes. His number is 702-387-5287. Let him know Sherman’s disgusting and that you won’t stand for it.
If you don’t do anything else for the First Family today, please to this. The media took an innocent comment by the President, twisted it, and is using it to denigrate his wife and his marraige. This was done ON PURPOSE. We talk about the campaign needing to fight the media, but we need to do our part first. If we stand by and let the MSM get away with this, we’re useless.
Do your part and get this fool fired.

Bob Brown (Sherman Frederick’s boss) 702-387-5287
I agree itgurl. I’m going to call the numbers you provided. I read on Twitter that they are already receiving lots of calls. And the story has been Chirpified.
This is the President of the United States, not some random pop star, athlete or low-level politician. The first family deserves a minimum amount of respect.
He doesn’t care, here is his latest comment……he knows it was a joke about pushups, lying POS.
Sherman Frederick @shermfrederick
Riiight. “@AVD911: @shermfrederick @SINDERELA702 It wasn’t intended to be a Joke … He was clearly distressed!”
So his reply is….Riiight……
Man, they are nasty.
Keep calling. This asshole needs to be fired. Not suspended or put on probation. FIRED!
And here’s Bob Brown’s email address: email@example.com
Here’s the contact page if anyone wants to write a scathing letter!
Here’s his paper:
OMG, he is being very rude right now to ChristiMtl
Oh, no, sorry. Christi only RT’d.
It was a retweet meta………typical ugly racist
Why would you post that vile pos here? I don’t get it. I could have gone my whole life w/o seeing it. Why do we insist on carrying their perverted messages?
I just called the first number, The lady answered newroom. I said I am calling about the Sherman Frederick Tweet. she said “and”? I said well if you guys don’tg put out a statement we are going to bombard you with these calls because we don’t appreciate it.
Well Donald Dork Trump said that no one remembered President Obama from school in America (not Amercia) so this must be a fake. Just PBO trying to get street cred with his “liberal, leftist, base”.//Snark.
What do @MittRomney & Muhammad Ali have in common? Exactly 1 thing. Answer @TheLastWord at 10pm @msnbc— Lawrence O'Donnell (@Lawrence) June 08, 2012
@aspirational12 Ok 2 things.— Lawrence O'Donnell (@Lawrence) June 08, 2012
They did not go to fight in the Vietnam War. Mr Ali because of religious and moral objection and I think he went to jail.
Romney got an exemption saying he was doing missionary work for his Church and went to France and stayed in a mansion with a butler and all the amenities. Romney had supported the draft but dodged. OK for others not for me entitlement attitude.
Criquet, Muhammad Ali paid a heavy price for courageously standing up for his beliefs. He was stripped of his boxing title. He was banned from boxing for more than five years, which meant that he couldn’t practice his profession, and as a result he lost his economic livelihood — essentially millions of dollars. It wasn’t until the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in his favor that Mr. Ali was able to return to the ring. And, although he left the ring as the World’s Heavy Weight Champion, once his title was taken away from him he had to fight hard to regain it. Bottom line, Muhammad Ali paid a very heavy price for his religious beliefs while Mitt Romney was in France enjoying himself as a Mormon missionary.
I didn’t watch LO’s Last Word to see where he was going with this; but I am with hopefruit2. The only thing Mitt Romney and Muhammad Ali have in common is that “they are both men” who were of draft age during the Vietnam war. One chose to stand courageously for his conscience and paid a heavy price; the other pretended to support the war while cowardly getting deferments to avoid going to fight in a war he supported. This same cowardly man, like Dick Cheney, is pumping his chest, calling for a war on Iran. He can afford to do that because he knows that his sons will not be in harms way while he sends other parents’ sons and daughters to war.
hmmm-but are they? robme lies about everything else, maybe his gender identity is a lie, too? remember those mom jeans?
I just call Bob Brown and spoke to him and told him what I thought of Sherman Frederick’s comment, and how it was disgusting. I told him it was disrespectful to the First Lady. Mr Brown apologize, but I told him the apology should come from Sherman Frederick. I told Mr. Brown that you expect behavior like that from some teenager, but not from some grown man like Frederick. I told Brown that Frederick should be fired.
Thank you. Everyone single person here needs to call and demand an apology and firing over this.
I spoke to the lady at LVRJ who told me that the guy was not affiliated with them -he’s affiliated with Stephen’s Media. I called stephen’s media and the lady there told me that they are receiving lots of calls and are “looking into it.” She also apologized to me and to those who saw the the tweet. She took my name/number and said they would get back to me with an update on steps taken. She also said that Sherman tweeted it from his personal account, so I told her that he has his professional role and News Media company fully identified on his Twitter account, so he’s representing the company. She said, “oh I see, hmm..”
Meanwhile, Sherman is busy defending himself on Twitter – he has since responded both my tweets, none of them expressing any remorse…I won’t even bother posting his crap here.
I just spoke with a woman at the LVRJ……got right through. She told me SF is the employee of Bob Brown and she would give me that info…..told her I have it. She said his blog has already been taken down….said I could write a letter to express myself further. The point I made to her (three times) was that blog taken down or not and even if he apologizes or ends up getting fired: THE VILE, DISRESPECTFUL, HATEFUL, UGLY comment go out there and that can never be taken back.
I just sent a email also. Now I need to email TeaNN and ask them about what they were trying to imply the President was saying?
All the news outlets that are making these crude jokes need to be attacked and shamed – why just stop at this vile one

PBO had $115 million cash on hand to Romney’s $9 million as of April 30. So while PBO and the DNC didn’t raise as much in May hopefully they still have a big coh advantage.
Romney’s burn rate is off the charts.
The Big Lies of Mitt Romney V: Obama Had A Super-Majority In Congress For Two Years
A reader writes:
This stood out to me in “The Lies of Mitt Romney III”:
“we remember the president’s own party had a super majority in both houses for his first two years”
I’m not sure how Romney defines a super majority, but my recollection was that the Dems only had a filibuster-proof majority (including two independents) from the time that Al Franken was finally seated (July 7, 2009) until the point that Teddy Kennedy passed away (August 25, 2009). That’s only seven weeks, not two years.
And there was never a supermajority in the House as Romney claims. The balance at the start of the Congress was 257 – 178, which is a Democratic share of only 59 percent, not 67. So again, Romney simply lied. Obama never had a super majority in both Houses, let alone for two years. In the Senate, his super-majority lasted seven weeks.
Please stay vigilant. Your eyes are as good as ours. Scan Romney’s statements for factual untruths – not embellishments or exaggerations, but empirically false statements. Update from a reader:
Not to let Mitt Romney off the hook, because his “two years supermajority” claim is still blatantly false, but there was an interim Senator from Massachusetts who was, in fact, the 60th vote for healthcare reform after Ted Kennedy died. Paul Kirk served as interim Senator from Massachusetts from September 24, 2009 to February 4, 2010. Therefore, the Democrats had a Senate supermajority for seven weeks with Kennedy and nineteen weeks with Paul Kirk, for a total of 26 weeks, or half a year.
And not even then because Ted was in the hospital.
And I’m not sure the interim was there all the time, but it’s still a LIE.

It’s wrong to count the Independents as Dems, even though they may caucus with Dems, especially when you consider they are Sanders and that freak Lieberman.
Ok, I’m delurking tonight. Now, it seems that some people are hyperventilating about the election results in Wisconsin and are baying at the heat of the media doom and gloom spook narrative that has taken hold of the media. To the people above who are now hyperventilating about this, turn it off. They want ratings. It is June 7th. People who are at home or having summer vacations, dealing with children at home out of school, summer camp, Vacation Bible School, Book Club meetings, Church picnics, etc. aren’t looking all day at what those folks are saying. Its obvious as it was the previous summers, THEY NEED VIEWERS. And doom and gloom gets butts into the seats. So right now, the narrative is Barack Obama can’t do anything right and shit is not going well and he’s doomed. You see it with them throwing out the jobs numbers, the selected polls showing “BAD” results, Willard’s camp putting out their artificially inflated campaign haul numbers. All that shit. Turn it off, go to O.F.A., sign up and volunteer. To give you a recap of why I’m not worried…….
Election 2008-Democratic Nominee Senator Barack Obama
Election 2012-Democratic Nominee President Barack Obama
The one lesson you should always learn, pundits don’t really know shit. Thats why you have that jerkass Chris Matthews spewing asinine nonsense. Push on folks.
Thank you. As I said earlier…they talk out their collective asses. You were MUCH nicer than I.
Its one of the reasons I haven’t posted in a while. I’m pretty blunt and sometimes bluntness ain’t pretty or nice.
It’s all good. Speaking only for me, I usually engage my mouth first….especially on issues I’m passionate about. You are absolutely correct though. Nice to see you back here, by the way:)
anotherslyfox, I understand how you feel about being blunt, but at this stage we all need to be disciplined. We have an election to win. Thanks for for the comparative data. I hope this calms people down. I actually feel blessed because since the gulf war I’ve been boycotting the 24-7 Cable tv news. Now and then I looked in during the 2008 elections. However, I went back to my boycott in 2009. As a result my blood pressure is way down. Now I rely for my news mainly on print media and on coming to blogs like this one. Frankly, I just can’t stand Chris Matthews. I have a long memory. Matthews turned me completely off during the Monica Lewinsky/Bill Clinton scandal. He was so over the top in attacking President Clinton. When it comes to flip flopping, and being able to switch sides at the flip of the coin, Chris Matthews is one of the masters.

New post everyone:
I am so mad I’m shaking. I was listening to Ian Masters (Progressive dude) on KPCC on my way home.
First he and his guest started yammering on about Romney raising more money in May and not bothering to give one single reference that it’s from ÜBER-CORPS not people… THEN they whined about how President Obama needs to talk about JOBS and WALL STREET, and how it’s tragic that he isn’t….
WHAT FUCKING PLANENT ARE THEY ON? The LAZY DEAF HEAD-IN-THE-SAND MOON? Forfucksake!!

Tally, they have lost their minds since Tuesday night. They are in a Chris Matthews brain colon blast right now. Don’t get mad, just turn it off. Summer heat does this to the Professional Left.
Seriously! This is unbelievable! I’ve been around for sometime but I never experienced the kind of garbage that is being spewed by the media. Every speech President Obama gives he is always talking about JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! Obviously, Ian Masters must have been asleep, drunk or high on something when, in September 2011, President Obama sent to Congress the American Jobs Bill and urged all of us to put pressure on Congress to pass it. Whatever state he was in must have lasted not just days but months. Otherwise, how could he have missed the President trips all across the country to promote the American Jobs Bill. I think most of the the media think that we are either all stupid or we are all afflicted with amnesia.
Tally, may be all you gifted people can send this guy videos, posted by Chips at TOD, of the President talking about JOBS! JOBS! JOBS! during the joint session of Congress and in his trips to states like Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, etc., etc.
