Thank you trini! I wasn’t aware that Bob was tied with me until you mentioned it
Glad to see Betty White at the Whitehouse. When you compare the starts who support President Obama with the ones for the other side it reminds you of the old westerns with the white hat vs the black hat hero. C’mon Kid Rock,Ted Nugent,Chuck Norris, Patricia Heaton, oh my.
Heck, look at these Tweets from Young Hollywood Supporters, and read the LOL at the end:
“The Avengers star Jeremy Renner, Glee actress Dianna Agron, Star Trek’s Zachary Quinto, Southland’s Ben McKenzie, Jessica Alba, Bryan Greenberg, Adam Rodriguez, Zach Braff, Brandon Routh, Tatyana Ali, Ian Somerhalder, Jared Leto, Kal Penn and Sophia Bush, among others. After, @PanteraSarah, an LA social butterfly/event planner, posted loads of photos to Instagram, and the stars weighed in on Twitter.
Penn’s pals got in on the Twitter action too, sending out Instagrams and Tweets documenting the event. (Above: Perhaps Quinto, who played Spock, compared notes with Mr. Obama)
Some of their Tweets:
Ali: “Had an amazing morning with President @BarackObama and some amazing surrogates. A major registration push is happening…
Alba: “Got up bright & early to hear @BarackObama speak w an awesome group”
Quinto: “all in all? not a bad way to start my morning. get fired up. now. it. is. ON!”
Agron: “Maybe the only man I truly get nervous around. Worth the early wake up call.”
Greenberg: “Truly inspirational talking with @BarackObama today”
Bush: “It was amazing to see @iansomerhalder @ZacharyQuinto @DiannaAgron and @BryanGreenberg with the POTUS today. Good peeps. #YoungAmericans.”
Somerhalder: “Totally surreal morning. Met up with some friends, had coffee with President Obama now tweeting. The 21st century… Let’s do this.”
Soon after, he followed up with, “Just spent my morning w/this man talking green energy,a better America&being a young American-wow”
THIS UPDATE HAD ME CRACKING UP:
With the Friday afternoon White House pool report, an addendum was included from Todd Gilliam of The Dallas Morning News, who was the pooler on duty with the President on Thursday morning. It read:
“One other addendum to Thursday’s pool coverage. A campaign official told the travel pool on background via email last night, two hours after we returned to Andrews, that “the President held a meeting with supporters at the Beverly Hilton at 8 am this am.”
That was before the motorcade left the hotel for the fund-raising breakfast at the home of Charles Quarles. At the time of the meeting (with “two dozen of Hollywood’s hottest young stars,” according to a report posted on hollywoodreporter.com Thursday afternoon, with many pictures of the president with stars), the pool was in vans outside the hotel. We were not apprised of this event. This campaign official assured the pool that the press corps will be told of such events in the future.
Awesome. Glad he didn’t tell the press about the event.
BobFr all count as one! Period!
One thing I have noticed and really admire about the Obama GOTV organization is that it trains people with skills that can be used in life/outside of politics. It’s not just about the campaign. I do not doubt that many of those trained have ended/will end up in positions of leadership once campaigning is over. That’s very forward-looking in my opinion.
First daughter is growing up. She will be entering HS in the fall I’m sure PBO shed a couple tears this afternoon.

What kind of wisdom is their in putting down people who love and work hard for this country. Policemen and Fire fighters put their lives on the line all the time. They can’t dodge their duty the way Mitt Romney dodge his duty by running to France so he could dodge the Vietnam draft.

I find it interesting that although the reporters were invited to the WH to interview the President they all felt it necessary to throw in some comment or other (positive) about Romney in order to be ‘balanced’. Do they usually throw in something positive about PBO when interviewing Mitt, when they can find him? I doubt it. What a crock, IMHO.
Here’s a fine video of Willard singing a nice Norwegian folk song. Get ready to feel real inspired folks!!

‘It was “YesWECan” not “YesHECan” !!!’
Very good. Time for those emoprogs to get useful, or get out of the way. Thank you. Retweeted.
It was Van Jones who used to be very good at reminding people of that….what happened to him? Its a shame because I think he has/had a lot of potential…the PL bs just alienates too many people who are tired of Dems not supporting this Pres.
I know many of you here don’t like Van Jones, but; he did an outstanding job yesterday on This Week (George Stanphonlos) Sunday show. The best sorrogate I’ve seen in a long time.
Here’s the problem with the emoprogs: first, they didn’t listen to what PBO actually said during the campaign. Second, they are all under the impression that if PBO had been the militant warrior they think he should have been coming out of the gate, that that would have instantly translated into perfect outcomes.
What would the Republican noise machine have done with a “my way or the highway” PBO in his first year? Cowered and buckled to his will? Seriously? They would have had yet another way of trying to destroy him.
These same emoprog assholes would have righteously sniffed that PBO had not fulfilled his campaign promises of working with people. You think they would have cheered a total defeat of ACA? My ass.
There is an institutional problem with the too-large number of conservadems who have no loyalty to the party or its agenda. That is a party problem, not PBO. Frankly, although Howard Dean’s 50-state strategy swelled our numbers, it was with a lot of congresspeople who couldn’t care less whether they were labeled dem’s or repubs — just who was going to help them get elected. We didn’t end up with a ‘big tent’ — we ended up with a bunch of saboteurs who were the real reason bills were watered down, and gave cover to the meme that we had ‘enormous majorities.’.
THX BOB! I HATE THOSE LAZY A$$ EMOSUCKERS.
Liberals want Obama to be a king, not a president
What’s clear is that the liberals speaking out don’t want a president, they want a king. Albeit a liberal king — but still a king, who would be unrestrained by Congress as well as the checks and balances enshrined in our Constitution.
These disenchanted liberals apparently wanted Obama — upon taking office — to have instantly transformed every campaign promise into law by the simple wave of a pen. Or maybe they would have preferred Obama to have walked out onto a White House balcony where, in a scene reminiscent of the musical “Evita,” he would be greeted by adoring throngs waiting below, and on the spot, declare that all his ideas were now the law of the land.
But here’s the problem. Barack Obama is not a king, he’s the president of the United States. For those who may have forgotten the “Schoolhouse Rock” cartoon of “How a bill becomes a law,” Congress needs to first pass the bill before it has any chance of becoming a law.
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius praised the healthcare reform law Monday for bolstering Medicare and appeared to criticize GOP proposals that would partially privatize the program.
“Before the [healthcare] law passed, there were gaps in Medicare coverage,” Sebelius said at a town hall on seniors’ health sponsored by the White House.
“When you add all the savings in the law up, the average Medicare beneficiary will save $4,200 over the next nine years. And those seniors with high drug costs will see even greater benefits.”
She added that the law will “maintain all the guaranteed Medicare benefits” seniors now enjoy — ”unlike some recent proposals.”
“What all of this means is that Medicare is now going to be stronger than ever. Seniors will have better benefits, lower prescription costs and more affordable preventive care. And their children and grandchildren will have a stronger Medicare in the future,” Sebelius said.
I go on Medicare next year.So thank you, Pres. Obama!
We should hear from her every week. Where has she been, or a staff of experts who are passionate about this and speaking up regularly?
I have to tell you folks, I am not a happy camper tonight. Came home from work and pulled the mail out of the mailbox. Big envelope from Michelle. And it was addressed to my wife. What the heck is that all about? Here I am, one of her biggest supporters and she writes to my wife and asks her for money. I gotta tell you, I may be done with her from now on (FLOTUS, not my wife).
Be a man. Suck it up.
LOL! Look on the bright side japa. FLOTUS has your address! Isn’t that fascinating?
Now there is a thought. A little misdirection on her part. That makes sense.
I think one of her aides must have gotten the name labels mixed up. Instead of the label with “Japa21″ they selected the one with “Mrs. Japa21″ I’m certain that aide must be fired by now.
You poor thing! I can imagine your disappointment, you being such a faithful fan and all. FLOTUS didn’t send Mrs. Japa a picture too, did she? THAT would be too much! However, I think FLOTUS was just doing the diplomatic thing approaching the wife first. Give her another chance. Next time it will be your turn.
Well, she did include a picture. Only problem is it included some guy with big ears.
See, I was right, she’s appeasing the wife first; big ears for her eyes , and FLOTUS for yours – another marriage held together. Our FLOTUS is brilliant too.
LOL. “another marriage held together.”
japa21, you are so funny. It included a picture of some guy with big ears.
Chill japa. She’s a married woman. You don’t need the SS to come visit. Do you?
Come on japa21, FLOTUS meant no harm, she knows the wife is usually the boss, so she wrote to the boss. I have a feeling if FLOTUS were to give you one of those hugs of hers all will be forgiven.
Love this one …
@chrislhayes @ezraklein So, the two smart guys finally agree. #GOP obstruction is deliberate destruction of USA…Now we ALL know the #TRUTH— Bathe4me (@Blogsiren) June 12, 2012
Just my own random thoughts. Isn’t it about time we called the GOP what they really are? They can no longer hide behind the dysfuncion of the Tea Party. They are for dictatorship. Let’s not parse around that term. That’s what they’re advocating. My question: Are all members of the GOP enabling this dictatorship? If not, where are their spines? I’m tired of hearing about their woes of this not being the party of … whatever anymore. WTF are they doing about it? They have allowed a coup d’etat, and then proceed to not “Country First.” Screw the slogans and crap. We need to be asking them who they are. Every single day. Are you for democracy, your country? Or are you going to drive our country into financial obliviion as you wear the garb of dictators.
OK, LL, AMK, VC, where’s that drink you were talking about earlier?

One of my favorite hair bloggers got to meet POTUS and FLOTUS.
What an amazing experience this must have been for her. Has she been able to sleep since?
A few days ago, I suggested that supporters of PBO must include in their defense of POTUS, the role of big money in politics.
Some here did not agree that this is not a as important because they pointed out that people do not seem to care as much as they should.
I believe that with this tweet from Axe, he is signaling that a discussion of the role of money in politics will be critical in PBO’s messages before we have the election.
From gobrooklyn in a prior comment, Mr David Axelrod tweeted that: “We are back to the robber barons trying to take over government.”
Yes, last month’s numbers indicate that the right-wingers are going to put as much money into the campaign and super-pacs as they can.
While it may be that Dems are indeed out-raised, we can turn that into an advantage by :
(i) Wearing the less money as a badge of political indicator that Dems will not be beholden to big money interests – we are beholden to ordinary people who made the small data-base;
(ii) promising to pass a law over-tuning Citizens United as one of the major achievements of the new Democratic Majority in 2013;
Can you imagine if each of the Dems signed a “pledge to ordinary people power” which would be drawn up by middle-class people instead of the norquist no-tax pledge?
Pledge to work for ordinary people….We’re extraordinary people! Great idea!

Yep, ditto. It’s just marvelous for McCain. At this point, Cookemom, I couldn’t care which McCain!
So Tally in eleventeenth heaven yet ? Kings win !!!
In my car today I caught a little bit of info re Bush’s military career in part of an interview with Dan Rather. It was on a programme called ‘The Current’. Did you know that young Bush got accepted as a member of a special champagne unit of the Texas national guard, then disappeared from service for a year? Anyway, of greater note to me was some of what Rather had to say about the ‘politics’ of the MSM. It’s audio only, but I tracked down the link. The first 50 secs is garbage, but the rest is worth listening to (if you have nothing better to do )
And CNN had a special on the Bush family Saturday, and come to find out, HBO has a new Movie Bush 41.
Nope! This is part of rehabing the Bush image! For possible VP nod???
i can only imagine the motive is to give some repugs, any repugs, a cheery image right now. and the older they are, the easier it is to pretend they were always charmers. read this column from esquire’s charles pierce. excellent reminder that we have ‘poppy’ to thank for cheney, and furthermore, darling poppy was complicit in the iran/contra outrage.
Add this to the fact that Jeb is distancing himself from the Grover Norquist hostage situation, in order to spend the next four years building back the GOP into a more sane version of today – even though they’ll still be espousing the same failed policies. Unhinging Grover’s snake-lips from the GOP will take time. I’m sure Mitt can see the writing on the wall that even if he wins (heaven forbid), he’s going to be primaried after his first term. Maybe winning is enough for him – even if everyone hates him and he does a lot of damage. Hopefully, we’ll never find out!
Damn! “What was the corporate point? It was messing with their profits.” This story really puts the dog corps in bed w/ fleas of MSM. No surprise, MSM absconded the 4th Estate long ago. It’s up to We The People — interwebs, twitter. Us. We should not get bothered by their reportage, because it’s BS. Don’t lose focus because that’s their tactic, precisely that! A lot of these shysters are dealing w/ the idea that they can control the entire media. They cannot control social media. Not enough time for them to be bought. Someone tell me that Facebook’s IPO debacle wasn’t a little bit weird?

The LA Kings WIN the Stanley Cup!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great hockey series, great final game! YIPPEEEEEEEE
First time the Kings have EVER won!!! I’m so proud of them.
My husband is a very happy camper with L.A.’s Stanley Cup win. He’s been waiting for this ever since the NHL put a team in L.A. He’s the rare Southern Californian who has followed hockey for most of his life……before they ever had an NHL team, he liked hockey. So glad L.A. beat New Jersey!!!
I’m so happy for him. I’m from Canada, so I’ve watched hockey all my life, but since I’m American now, and living in LA, I had no choice but to root for the Kings. I am a Canadians fan first and foremost, but have no problem rejoicing in this KINGS win!!!!!
I am, at best, a casual hockey fan. I grew up in NYC with no particular love for hockey — not a big sport in the barrio. And when I moved to L.A., the Lakers became my team. But I’m glad the Kings won.

Here are the details — can you join the call?
RSVP NOW: http://www.barackobama.com/maestro/afam-nia-long
State voting laws have changed a lot in the past two years — so this weekend’s voter registration drives are important.
As a member of African Americans for Obama, you’re one of the leading voices for the President in your community. It’s up to each of us to make sure our friends and neighbors know exactly what they have to do to cast their ballot.
We’ll talk about all this and more with Nia Long on Wednesday. RSVP now:
Thanks, and talk to you soon.
National African American Vote Director
Obama for America
This is why I’m not overly concerned about GOP governors’ voter suppression efforts. Team Obama is on it.
it is also not unusual for the voter suppression efforts to backfire and make potential voters into real voters by registering in droves as a signal to pushback against those who are trying to take away their rights
I liked the spunky nun, Sister Simone Campbell, on Colbert. She is leading a group of nuns on her Nuns on the Bus tour, taking their fight against the Ryan budget which cuts programs for the poor to the people. They will be touring in a bunch of states and visiting congressional offices. Go sister!
Damn, Dotster3, I missed that! For real? Well, there go those damn bishops!
Unbelievably Necessary! Love The Sisters!
Chips, I hope you find a way to highlight this Nuns on the Bus Tour if your very busy schedule allows.
I am thinking of highlighting their stops at locations and encouraging people to wave or stand and show real visible support as they move along.
I heard about it some days ago and I understand that they are determined to defy all the “otherwise-uterus-engaged bishops” and stand up for the poor who are threatened by proposed cuts in the romney-ryan budget. we see the difference in the two religious groups and each is trying to make catholic voters to take a stand – you can guess which side I am on
I was just reading an article in Mediaite from Noah Rothman…..what a joke.
”Dylan Ratigan’s Departure Signals MSNBC’s Leftward Drift Complete”
”This past weekend’s announcement, that MSNBC’s host Dylan Ratigan will leave MSNBC near the end of June, signals that the left-leaning cable news network has fully embraced its liberal identity.”
I was about to send that little joker a tweet.
Yea soooo to the left with Morning Joe, 3 hours every morning spend bashing the President…………Daily rundown with Republican hack Chuck Todd….Andrea Mitchell…no comment….Alex Witt….libertarian Chris Hayes, MHP……regular ”analysts” like Howard Fineman and Ed Rendell.
Liberal identity?? ha good one,….
I was about to send him a tweet and what do I see on his TL
Glenn Greenwald @ggreenwald
”With Dylan Ratigan gone, now maybe MSNBC can find a litlte time to talk about all the reasons the Dems are great & the GOP horrible”…
Speaking of the hateful loser..here’s a good read..I skipped the part where the author praises Greenwald…..ewwww…but the rest is good.
Is Glenn Greenwald Aware of How Smug he Sounds?
Interesting tweet here:
Andrea Hackett @andreafed
”@Kahsai President Obama is very much like FDR. FDR also faced an industry led coup led by (are ya ready?) Prescott Bush.”…….
First of all, I didn’t know Prescott Bush was the grandfather.
I’m going to read about that….it’s interesting.
Thanks Christi, I didn’t know the FDR/Prescott connection. Very interesting. Would be interested to read what you find.
You will also want to be familiar, deeply, with Gen Smedley Butler ….
“In November 1934, Butler told the committee that a group of businessmen, saying they were backed by a private army of 500,000 ex-soldiers and others, intended to establish a fascist dictatorship. Butler had been asked to lead it, he said, by Gerald P. MacGuire, a bond salesman with Grayson M–P Murphy & Co. The New York Times reported that Butler had told friends that General Hugh S. Johnson, a former official with the National Recovery Administration, was to be installed as dictator. Butler said MacGuire had told him the attempted coup was backed by three million dollars, and that the 500,000 men were probably to be assembled in Washington, D.C. the following year. All the parties alleged to be involved, including Johnson, said there was no truth in the story, calling it a joke and a fantasy.
In its report, the committee stated that it was unable to confirm Butler’s statements other than the proposal from MacGuire, which it considered more or less confirmed by MacGuire’s European reports. No prosecutions or further investigations followed, and historians have questioned whether or not a coup was actually close to execution, although most agree that some sort of “wild scheme” was contemplated and discussed. The news media initially dismissed the plot, with a New York Times editorial characterizing it as a “gigantic hoax”. When the committee’s final report was released, the Times said the committee “purported to report that a two-month investigation had convinced it that General Butler’s story of a Fascist march on Washington was alarmingly true” and “… also alleged that definite proof had been found that the much publicized Fascist march on Washington, which was to have been led by Major. Gen. Smedley D. Butler, retired, according to testimony at a hearing, was actually contemplated”.
The McCormack-Dickstein Committee confirmed some of Butler’s accusations in its final report. “In the last few weeks of the committee’s official life it received evidence showing that certain persons had made an attempt to establish a fascist organization in this country…There is no question that these attempts were discussed, were planned, and might have been placed in execution when and if the financial backers deemed it expedient.”"
And, “WAR IS A RACKET” ….
This time around we have comprehensive evidence of the intent to destroy a President irrespective of the damage to America:
This is NOT A TEST America. This the REAL DEAL.
Follow this story and be prepared to retch. Prescott Bush was doing business with the Nazis and should have been tried for treason. I think there is some question as to whether or not he was an actual Nazi sympathizer or just a money-hungry bastard, but he was BAD.

NICOSIA, June 11 (Reuters) – Euro zone member Cyprus strongly hinted on Monday it may have to apply for an international bailout before the end of this month, both for its banks and its general coffers.
“The issue is urgent. We know the recapitalisation of the (island’s) banks must be completed by June 30, and there are a few days left,” Finance Minister Vassos Shiarly told journalists
Goodnight Chips. Thank you for another beautiful day in our home here. And may all of my TOD family members have a restful and peaceful evening.
Oh, one last thought. Has anyone heard from Sue? Fred? Joan? Just asking. Thinking of them. ((((((( Lots of Love To All ))))))))) HZ
Hello HZ, I believe that Joan posted here yesterday, Fred posted on the weekend or last week and Sue appears to have stopped posting here since our President came out in support of same-sex marriage. She expressed her disagreement with that position and I haven’t seen her post since. I hope she is okay otherwise and decides to join us at some point in the not too distant future.
hawaii is considered a blue state, but we had rethug linda lingle as governor for 8 years, and now she wants a senate seat. just announced, she has her own cable channel to promote her agenda–according to the article, the first candidate in the nation to create a cable channel. she couldn’t comment in person for the article, because she was in california at a fund-raiser.
Good Mrning TOD….
McCain’s attack on the President’s credability as it relates to the security leaks is attempt by the GOP to tarnish the President…his statement that Eric Holder is incomepetent and cannpt be trusted to lead an investigation into such a matter is offensive…racist and a new low for McCain and the GOP…this is just the latest attempt to diminish the President’s likability and the shake the trust that the American People have in the President…
The President does not need to bolster his ratings on foreign policy…the President has a stellar record…and the President would not put at risk the national security of this country and its allies…
On another note the President will be here today…i will not be in the area that he will be…but it will feel good to have him in my city….smilin….
McCain is a twice failed Presidential candidate, why he gets teevee time beats me.
With strong support from women and independent voters, President Barack Obama leads Gov. Mitt Romney 46 – 40 among Pennsylvania voters, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today. Romney would do a better job on the economy, voters say 49 – 41 percent.
The matchup compares to a 47 – 39 percent Obama lead in a May 3 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University.
In today’s survey, women back President Obama 51 – 36 percent, while men tip to Romney 44 – 40 percent. Obama leads 83 – 10 percent among Democrats and 43 – 35 percent among independent voters, while Republican voters back Romney 80 – 7 percent.
Pennsylvania voters say 77 – 18 percent that Obama is a likable person, compared to 58 – 29 percent for Romney. The Republican would create more jobs, voters say 45 percent, while 43 percent say Obama would create more jobs.
This is excellent news. And I still continue to ask, if PBO leads among women by 15 pts, and trails among men by 4 pts, shouldn’t his overall lead be more like 11 pts, rather than the 6 pts that Quinnipiac is claiming???
1. There are already more women than men of voting age living in the US, and since 2000, more women than men have consistently turned out to vote.
2. Even if we ignore the first point and assume that it’s going to be ~ 50-50, that would still give PBO an 11 Pt lead.
The only way this result is valid is if a large number of respondents are failing to report what gender they are or lying about their genders, or if the pollsters have reason to believe that women are lying about their support for PBO, or that men support Romney even more than they claim. But if their is no basis for lying then why would the pollsters want to make such inferences on their own??
The Republican would create more jobs, voters say 45 percent, while 43 percent say Obama would create more jobs.
The stupidity of americans in face of exactly opposite facts is amazing.
If a poll was taken today after that we don’t need more teachers, policemen, fire fighters comment I wonder what people would say about creating jobs?
I would love to see these polls ask these people how would Mitt Romney create more jobs, when he has not laid out one plan as to what he would do. Except cut more government jobs. I am not into all these polls coming out right now, in fact I’m sick of them all.
Is Quinnipac one of those right wing leading polls?

Now this new ad hits Robney right in the Teeth-
The ads are getting much better!
I had to check to see if this was actually Halperin:
“The media has yet to do much adjudicating on Romney’s actual record on these issues as governor and/but these are not new charges for the press, so for now, I suspect the earned media echo chamber on this won’t be very intense. However, as with the Bain assault, Chicago surely has research suggesting that real voters watching real TV will be influenced by the message.
All together now: IT DIDN’T WORK THEN AND IT WON’T WORK NOW. That slogan sums up the 2012 campaign better than anything I have seen. Been there, done that. Every Democrat who gets near a microphone should be saying those words. As Robert Gibbs so aptly put it back in April on Meet The Republicans, the GOP slogan should be – Vote for us because President Obama didn’t clean up the mess WE CREATED fast enough while we were obstructing his every move. That’s the simple message that the GOP and the media can’t bring themselves to report to the American people.
Mr. Obama’s address in Cleveland, described by his aides as a “framing” speech, isn’t expected to include any major new proposals. While some of his political advisers had pushed for that, his economic team made clear they don’t see many fresh options, particularly when Congress hasn’t passed the bulk of a jobs bill that the president unveiled nine months ago …
Recent signs that the economy could be faltering spawned an intense internal debate among the president’s aides over the contents of the speech, people familiar with the discussions said, and put its details in flux.
One option was for Mr. Obama to draw a sharper picture of what he would concentrate on if he won a second term, said people familiar with the discussions. It is unclear if Mr. Obama’s speech will include such a focus.
Unfortunately, I have a hard time believing Politico’s “framing” of anything team Obama says or does. In fact I don’t believe a word of this.
Hf, I agree. They make it up. No member of the president’s team would “leak” to a hostile site and Politico is HOSTILE.
Well, Thusday is a big speech, so they did leak that!
Where is your evidence that they leaked it – besides Politico’s words? And even if they did “leak” something, how can you be certain that it’s what Politico has reported here?
Not sticking up fir politico, way to early in the morning to get into a gotcha conversation with you.
Try me in about 4 hours.
I’m not playing silly games with you. Yesterday you falsely accused me of wanting to “out” you and never retracted even after I clarified my comment and someone else pointed out your error.
Today I’m asking you a straightforward question based on your claim that the Obama team leaked information to Politico – and you refuse to give me an answer but instead start up with these bullshit accusations about “gotcha” conversations or whatever the hell that means.
Relax! Take a Xanax!
I don’t wake up looking for arguments.
In other news!
Congressman Aaron Schtock was just asked if he would accept Ten to one spending cuts to revenue increases, he proudly-arrogantly said NO.
Carvilles pollster, which has done nothing but Troll, is at it again.
He says to can all the messaging and get a new message, because Democracy Corps(which has skewed polling to the right) says that the President message is not working.
And we should believe that Troll Carville?
Jovie, are you talking about that James Carville ? The ugly creature from Clinton land who is married to that Republican.
Carville and Rendell have very little credibility with the bulk of PBO supporter base. I mean look at whom Carville’s married to. I don’t think we should be concerned too much with him.
And Yet, CNN and Wolfe will talk about this, given credence to, Obama is in over His Head philosophy.
It’s why they do it, to undermine Him.
Do you follow?
Yes I follow. That’s why my response to CNN and Wolfe is this: *CLICK*
Exactly! Their you go.
Dem groups lean on each other
By ALEXANDER BURNS | 6/12/12 6:55 AM EDT
In my story on the homepage this morning, a look at how Democratic-aligned outside groups are teaming up and forming tactical partnerships in an attempt to mitigate their vast financial disadvantage:
There’s been cooperation in past cycles between outside groups on both the left and right. Operatives involved in these organizations’ 2012 efforts say there’s a new level of intensity this time, and fresh urgency for liberal advocacy groups trying to protect their interests against a Republican air war that could total $1 billion.
So for the heavily outgunned collection of allies attempting to keep Obama in the White House, there’s some strength in numbers.
“The partnerships are a critical part of our strategy here. We have no doubt that the Koch brothers and Karl Rove are going to have more dollars than us. We knew we could leverage every dollar we have three or four times if we team up,” said Bill Burton, the former White House spokesman now helping steer the pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA Action. “It’s a lot more deliberate this time, definitely.” …
They can’t compete for dominance on television and radio with the GOP groups, but Democratic organizations hope to limit their financial disadvantage in the most urgent campaigns by divvying up the tab.
Two fresh examples debuted this week, as Priorities USA Action and the labor giant SEIU announced they would jointly commit $4 million to Spanish-language television ads blasting Mitt Romney as hostile to working people.
As those ads are hitting the air, a coalition of five environmental groups is preparing to launch an almost two-month campaign to boost Democratic Rep. Martin Heinrich in the New Mexico Senate race. So far, the organizations involved — the League of Conservation Voters, the Sierra Club, Defenders of Wildlife, the National Wildlife Federation and the Natural Resources Defense Council Action Fund — are splitting the cost evenly, according to a strategist familiar with the campaign. …
“Because resources are tight and we’re up against just an avalanche on the Republican side, we knew right away that none of us had resources that we could waste, nor could we in any way duplicate efforts at all,” said [EMILY’s List president Stephanie] Schriock, who said EMILY’s List would “move money into whatever vehicle” appears most effective in a given race.
Poll: 49 Percent Believe GOP Stalling Economic Recovery In Order To Beat Obama livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entries/poll-4… v @TPMLivewire @morningMika @Morning_Joe— Cyn Hussein Obama (@Wary12) June 12, 2012
That poll might be why “smart” Chris Hayes and Ezra Klein both suddenly realized that that’s the case. Funny how these smart boys never noticed that for the last two years even as we were saying it.
I picture both of them going home and talking to the mirror——and giving a big thumbs up to that brilliant guy talking to them from the reflection.
LOL – true.
I want someone to call it what it is–treason and sabotage. Any group that actively undermines the strength and economic security of the United States is acting as a traitor to their country. I’m tired of pussyfooting around, let’s call it what it is.
Yesterday, Thom Hartmann was talking GOP treason and sedition on his show.
PPP Nat. poll: Obama +8 50-42 . June 7- 10 @BarackObama doing “fine”.
Indeed. And if ~50% of Independents now believe that the GOP is stalling the economy just to hurt PBO, then his messaging about the GOP’s antics is also effective.
Helloooo O O O O Os!!!!! Wunnerful getting up day on TOD earth again! So I caught some of the Moanin’ show (they’re in Chicago for some reason) and poor Joke had to just sit there, cause the Repub message is getting a beatdown. That’s why I don’t get bunched undies over the media, they are trying everything, and nothing’s sticking.
My political take today: All the hoopla about PBO’s surrogates going off message. Well, did you hear what Jeb said about Robme? It’s gotten wide coverage, and it ain’t pretty. Sounds almost as if they’re throwing in the towel and setting the stage for 2016.

I’m mad at what Republicans (with the help of alleged Democrats like Bill Clinton) have done to decent commerce in this country. I live in Chicago and I have the choice of creaky old AT&T for my internet. Why creaky? because shareholders and CEO’s come before the customers and dividends are paid instead of improving their infrastructure for the 21st century.
My only other choice — literally — is Comcast. They screwed up the order. They screwed up appointments. And now they tell me I have to wait a month for a return of my $100 deposit. Get your brain around it: I gave them $100 which they have had use of and I have no product that I bought. I cancel because I cannot get them to get anything right, and I have to wait for the return of my money.
It’s the great City of Chicago, for God’s sake. The ‘free’ market doesn’t give you ‘choices’. Public utilities used to have to operate in the public interest. In fact, Alexander Hamilton’s original vision of what would become the modern corporation included a provision that corporations had to behave in the public interest in addition to making profits. That has been destroyed by 100 years of Supreme Court decisions — every time there’s a new regulation it is litigated based on this body of law that a corporation’s fiduciary responsibility is to the stockholder, NOT the customer.
Starting with Reagan, there is no longer any enforcement of the anti-trust laws. So what we’re left with a recombination of mega corporations who can fight every regulation based on the ‘fiduciary responsibility’ of the corporation to the shareholders (read: deregulation of the banks and the media — thanks Bill Clinton). There is no longer any public interest activity on the part of corporations. Any consumer protections are fought by Republicans.
And. There. Is. NO choice.
Okay. My rant for today.
