Dudette, yes,”perfect.” Everytime that I see them together, I think of Uncle Teddy and Vickie. I do believe that Sen. Kennedy would be so happy to see PBO and Bo together in the Oval Office and just hanging out together. There is a photo where Uncle Teddy and Vickie are at the WhiteHouse visiting and Uncle Teddy is touching Bo so beautifully just like PBO is doing in this photo.

Cantor: House will continue attacking health law if Supreme Court doesn’t kill it

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said the House would continue to press for repeal of the 2010 healthcare law if the Supreme Court allows it to live on.
“If the court does not strike down the bill in its entirely, the gentleman knows, our conference is fully committed to repeal — total repeal — of the ObamaCare bill,” Cantor said on the House floor in a discussion with House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.). “In July, we will continue to focus on that bill and its impact on employers.”

Hello everyone, I was sitting here a few minutes ago doing some work and vaguely listening to Mitt on the maddow show. Mitt’s speech at the Latino event today. Please listen carefully and you will hear Mitt pick up some words using some words from PBO speech at the Dems convention in 2004 where he talked about his parents. Maybe I am just nuts, but I hope someone else will listen and see if you pick up what I picked up.
I really wish I could, but my ears start bleeding when I hear him speak. Hopefully others who do not suffer this affliction can let us know what they find.

However, Romney clearly believes that Latino voters either weren’t paying attention or will believe him when he makes his “conversion” to a more moderate stance on immigration. She wasn’t doom and gloom, she said we should be cautious of possible headwinds over summer, but barring that, PBO and the campaign are doing a good job with immigration and Willbot and that though some swing states have unemployment going Dow, people are gonna also look at national numbers. She said PBO and campaign will Taylor their message to each swing state. She was fine in my opinion, just being realistic. If there are no economic headwinds over summer, PBO will be fine. If the opposite happens, this will make it a touch harder.

6-1-2012: Another day, another abortion bill. This time the “Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act.” Which was designed to stop abortions based on sex or race. Seriously. It failed. Apart from that bit of nonsense the day was one long last-minute rush to pass bills that pay the bills. No jobs were created.
6-4-2012: Last Friday three Democratic (Hahn, Kaptur, Tonko) amendments to increase funding for energy efficiency and renewable energy failed, while three Republican (Hultgren, Chaffetz, McClintock) amendments to reduce funding of energy efficiency and renewable energy also failed. No jobs were created.
6-6-2012: The House was not in session on Monday but on Tuesday it spent the day amending water and energy bills, mostly shuffling money from one account to another. It was not a job creating event.
6-8-2012: The House passed a bill to repeal a new exise tax on medical devices. The GOP refers to this as a “jobs bill”. Another waste of time as the Senate will not consider the bill.
In the meantime the GOP is still losing its shit over lightbulbs, voting to restrict funding for the application of energy-efficient lighting (Which the GOP evidently believes are manufactured in Hell itself.) Job creation was not in evidence.
6-11-2012: On Friday the House voted to cut funding for Open World Leadership Center, the Congressional Research Service, and the Washington Botanic Garden. But, on the bright side, they voted themselves funds to print some snazzy new pocket-sized editions of the U.S. Constitution to hand out to constituents. As always, no jobs were created.
The House is in recess until the 18th of June.

Twitter’s statements came after UgNazi – an emerging hacker outfit that recently gained publicity for breaking into Cloudflare chief executive Matthew Prince’s personal Google email account – claimed credit for the service disruption in an email to Reuters, saying it launched a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack against Twitter because of the company’s support for the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act.
One security professional said the group probably used a DDoS-for-hire site to launch an attack against Twitter on Thursday, but downplayed the likelihood the group was solely responsible for bringing down the social media network.
“It was mere coincidence,” the security professional said. “The backend of Twitter is having issues, which is unrelated to the very small attack.”

Personally, the fact that Willard is now saying he’s too busy campaigning to head to the Olympics sounds like someone got a talking to about upstaging the First Lady (either David Cameron was forced to withdraw the invitation to Willard and promise him some dedicated alone time later on, or Willard himself was told it would be uncouth to try and hog the spotlight when the spotlight should be on the US Team).
Perhaps the President’s statement in Los Cabos about there being “one administration at a time” reminded his operatives about some protocol……I doubt it, but someone, somewhere told him this is not right, because he could never figure that out on his own. Neither President Obama nor McCain or their wives attended the Beijing Olympics in 2008. They, very smartly, let GWB have all the publicity himself! Remember?

Issa SPECIFICALLY asked AG Holder to break the law. He has insisted that Holder turn over things that would be ILLEGAL for AG Holder to reveal, just to give Issa what he wants.
My question: Does anyone see anything here that would show that Issa, as a sworn member of Congress, has broken the law himself and therefore constitutes a dereliction of his sworn duties and oath? HE should be the one getting the book thrown at him, and the one that shold step down from the head of this committee.

LunarSea! How coincidental, but I’ve been listening to Stevie Nicks, and Fleetwood Mac plus other videos all evening. I’ve seen 2 or 3 versions with Stievie, Dixie Chicks and Glee. These kids sing it more like Stevie Nicks and less upbeat like Dixie Chicks or Glee. I have always loved this song. Music is truly the universal language which connects us all. It was great to see a version live with Stevie on the Today show from 2005. The audience outside the studio was mixed with all ages, colors and I suspect folks from all spectrums of the musical universe. Most knew the words and looked so moved. Anyway beddie time now, but thank for this version. I saved it because these kids did a wonderful job!
Goodness we need to keep (get back) the arts in our schools. Heck we need to save public education!

New polling released June 22, 2012 by Latino Decisions and America’s Voice finds President Obama maintaining a wide lead over Republican Mitt Romney among Latino registered voters in five key battleground states. The poll interviewed 400 Latinos each in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Nevada and Virginia – all states expected to be very competitive in 2012 where Latino voters could decide the outcome. In Florida, the poll found Obama leading Romney by a margin of 53% to 37%, a slight increase from a 50% to 40% lead Obama held over Romney in a January 2012 Latino Decisions/Univision News poll in Florida. In the five states combined Obama lead Romney 63% to 27%, however in southwestern battlegrounds of Arizona, Colorado and Nevada Obama performed even better. In Arizona Obama received 74% to 18% for Romney, in Colorado he was favored by 70% to 22% and in Nevada 69% to 20%. In Virginia, Obama lead 59% to 28% over Romney among Latino registered voters.

During the nearly 15 years that Romney was actively involved in running Bain, a private equity firm that he founded, it owned companies that were pioneers in the practice of shipping work from the United States to overseas call centers and factories making computer components, according to filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
While economists debate whether the massive outsourcing of American jobs over the last generation was inevitable, Romney in recent months has lamented the toll it’s taken on the U.S. economy. He has repeatedly pledged he would protect American employment by getting tough on China. …
[A] Washington Post examination of securities filings shows the extent of Bain’s investment in firms that specialized in helping other companies move or expand operations overseas. While Bain was not the largest player in the outsourcing field, the private equity firm was involved early on, at a time when the departure of jobs from the United States was beginning to accelerate and new companies were emerging as handmaidens to this outflow of employment.

Question——I see UT’s excellent tweets, and I caught a bit of it myself—–re. Gov. O’Malley on MJ saying the Repubs are trying to buy the election (with 15-20 billionaires) and the big money Dems are whining and punishing Obama for whatever—–not making everything perfect and Repubs agreeable sweetie pies, I guess—–and that they need to step up to the plate—-NOW—–need to fight fire with fire.
Who are these big money Dems who have donated in the past who are holding back now? Who are the targets of this message from O’Malley and other Dem strategists? Who are these people who have the means to make a diff and are willing to jeopardize this country for some self-interested gripe???

Last month Soros gave $1M each to two Dem Super Pacs, American Bridge and American Votes. Says he’s focused on giving to grassroots organizing orgs so we probably won’t see anything directly to PBO.

Today Show saying we are hearing about first daughters more and more—–that President Obama and First Lady are mentioning daughters more and more in their appearances. Asking if it is a political calculation, appealing to women voters. Someone saying his daughters “humanize” President Obama as the media continues to try to make Obama cold and aloof, blocking out all the warmth in his appearances from their minds. Balanced out report by showing the 5 Willard progeny on Conan and Palin using her kids, especially the baby, as props. As if the Obamas had any commonality with those 2 families.
