Thank you Bob and Drunken Irishman!!
God bless him.
Thank you, PBO. Thank you.
As a cancer survivor, this is personal for me. I’m so relieved that the ACA was upheld today.
God bless you and the millions of other survivors, Hachiko!
Chips, this is a keeper!!!!
h/t to our dear ‘drunken irishman’
Btw, the tweet from Speaker Pelosi really turned on the sprinkler system in my library …
Yes We Can
A complete gem Bob, added it to the post!! Thank you!
Thank you, Chips!!
fyi, this is the touching tweet referenced above … just about have the place mopped up
.@NancyPelosi on Ted Kennedy & his goal of health care reform "I knew when he left us he would go to work..now he can rest in peace."— Kelly O'Donnell (@KellyO) June 28, 2012
Ok….Now I’m all choked up. Nancy Smash is the best. Ted Kennedy is smiling up in heaven because the dream goes on.
Ya gotta see this photoshopped “Dewey beats Truman” moment with CNN: http://yfrog.com/hw7ozrfj
I have to say that I was really pleased that Huff Post screwed this up too.
I LOVE MY PRESIDENT!!!!!!
Speaker Pelosi is on now…
Holy shit! Sarah Palin done lost what little brain she had to begin with!
Obama thinks he can just waltz around providing healthcare for poors? What next, food & clothing? I mean is this a Bible story or something?— Sarah PaIin (@SarahPaIinUSA) June 28, 2012
Hachiko, is this for real??? If so…. OMG, the woman is completely insane!
Is this real?
People need to RT this….this just about nails the ugly ignorance once and for all…. Jesus would be So proud , SP…NOT
Don’t you love it when Rethugs wear their (fake) “Christianity” on their sleeves?
Turns out this is a fake Palin account. Whew! My brain wouldn’t accept that even Palin could be that incredibly dumb.
Oh. My. God. She is actually beyond deranged.
It’s a fake account. The handle is the same as hers. There must be a hidden character in there somewhere.
But the telling thing is, I actually believed it was her – just like something the turd would say!
I know, right?
I believed it too…. terrifying.
Chips, it’s a ‘satire’ account One of my favorites & all of you should read some of the comment tweets in response to that one and many others – really funny stuff!!!!
If the half term governor tweeted that she is more of a moron than anyone imagined.
Hachiko, Sarah Palin never had any brain.
A fake Palin account, well maybe I shouldn’t have said what I said.
Obama lied to the American people. Again. He said it wasn't a tax. Obama lies; freedom dies.— Sarah Palin (@SarahPalinUSA) June 28, 2012
her real account …not any smarter
I just deleted my response to this lunatic, ex-governor, loser of the last election. It was just too rude (however truthful) and I will not go that low.
I don’t think that’s her.
Was her account hacked? I believe that is her actual twitter handle.
it looks just like it, but apparently, it’s a parody account.
I don’t give a rat’s patootie what Palin thinks-real or fake.
The speech was brilliant, if only CNN International hadn’t gone on to Candy Crowley and Jessica Yellin for commentary afterwards…. UGH!
Again, why this is a BFD – comment over at Booman’s place:
Re: How Are You Feeling? (none / 1)
Very relieved. I’m one of those people who would have likely lost his health coverage this week. I run a small company with my partner, who suffered a massive stroke in 2009. He has probably cost UHC $2 million since then and it will continue forever this way. Had the law been struck down and rescission and pre-existing conditions been made legal again, there’s no doubt that UHC would drop us today. And then I’d be out on the individual market and my wife has a pre-existing condition so we’d be screwed, my partner and his family would go bankrupt, and a very sick guy could lose this battle.
Bravo, Obama! I’m proud to have you as our president!

Re: How Are You Feeling? (none / 1)
I’m actually hopeful that I won’t be watching any more of my friends die too young from diseases that could have been treatable if caught early. I’ve buried too many too close to my heart from late-stage cancers in the last couple years – they had no insurance coverage and got the diagnoses too late. It will be good to enjoy what the rest of the civilized world has enjoyed for ages – universal healthcare. Time to breathe a few sighs of relief.

Okay, that graphic of CNN’s Obama-Dewey-Truman moment is PRICELESS! That channel is absolute garbage.
It is hilarious that during the “Dewey Defeats Truman” time the spin was that the mandate being struck down was a huge blow for the Obama administration, and now the spin is that leaving ACA alive as an issue for the election is a huge blow for the Obama administration.
They suck at reality.
CNN might as well just go on home!
Regarding the contemptous actions of @CongressmanIssa, we have the following ….

Look at the video and tweets of the major “media” outlets that GOT THIS STRAIGHT WRONG!!! (Think Progress linky)
In A Rush To Be First, CNN, Fox, Huffington Post and TIME Get Supreme Court Story Exactly Wrong
ALL BOUGHT AND PAID FOR!!!
I’m so shocked that NPR got it wrong.
I’ve been telling everyone the SCOTUS would uphold the entire ACA and so it is. Congratulations to our nation, President Obama and Nancy Pelosi. As Craig Ferguson says, “It’s a great day for America.”
Craigie is my man! You’ve reminded me that I haven’t watched him in a while — have to check him out again.
AG Holder about to address League of United Latino American Citizens National Convention
Great music while we wait.
Dang they turned off the audio. Ain’t that a blip?
PBO did a beautiful job and once again, put the focus on people who”ll be helped. I’m getting sick of political analysis. This is not about Myth Romney. It’s about all of us who have a right to a decent health care system. The GOP and their sycophants on tv are looking small and petty today.

So sweet! I love my Nancy Smash! (Can’t remember how she got to be called that, but I like it!)
On the day of the vote to pass HCR, Rep. Dingell, whose father attempted to pass national health-insurance legislation in 1943, lent her a super-sized gavel from his family, which she carried when House leaders made a very public walk to the House chamber before the historic vote:
If you remember, it was a very contentious walk as people from the opposition were yelling and even spitting at the Dem Caucus as they made their way to the chamber. Nancy wielded that gavel with force on the vote and got the nickname, Nancy Smash.
Awesome! I love it! Thanks meta!

I just realized one thing. This ruling on ACA changes the political context for the contempt vote in the House this afternoon. To a great majority of americans, the vote against Holder will now look like the act of sore losers who want revenge. Mark my words, the republicans will pay for this outrageous vote.
My thoughts exactly! The Republicans are a complete embarassment!
I concur. After the big expose from Fortune Magazine regarding the lies about ‘fast & furious’, the rethugs better step lightly, which is something they have never been able to do. They will step in shit so deep, they will be stuck for the next 4 months.
I predict a landslide victory for PBO in November. The case against Robme is building. I don’t see a way back for him. This is going to be so ugly. I believe many Teabaggers will be so demoralized by the time the election rolls around, most will stay home. Dems may win super majority. Good Times.

‘nite amk! Your work here is outstanding!
Good night, amk!
Yeah, I need one of those kind of “bad months”. The coporatemedia in the US puts Pravda to shame.

MSNBC is the only cable network to not report mandate struck down:
I’m sitting here crying like a baby. Truthfully, the ACA has minimal effect on me personally; as a military retiree, I have premium healthcare courtesy of you the taxpayer. I’m crying tears of joy for my neighbors who now have peace of mind knowing they will have access to affordable healthcare.
Thank you President Obama. This song is dedicated to you!

Good Morning TOD family
I am so grateful for this decision. A tremendous weight has been lifted and I am fired up to do whatever it takes to re-elect every Democrat in the country. Seriously.
Chips thanks so much for providing this wonderful place to find accurate information and support.
CALL TO COMPLIMENT
I will be contacting these 3 folks today and sharing the story of my daughter, her illness and how much it means to our family to know that for the next 4 years she is covered by my insurance. I would suggest that as folks send tweets, email or make calls you follo the President’s lead and talk about how the law average Americans, not discuss the politics.
Nancy Pelosi – I have to tell you Nancy’s teets were all that kept me going some days, she was confident from the start, and I am grateful for her leadership.

Now this last suggestion probably has some of you scratching your heads or thinking I am a bit crazy, but I would respectfully suggest we thank Justice Roberts. I am hopeful that when he learns about how his actions are helping my family and millions of other families, he will feel a small portion of the happiness I feel today. Even if it does not end up mattering to him, it will matter to me, it will add to the joy of this day.

Sorry, Linda..it’s petty…but I think you meant “Nancy’s Tweets” LOL…I needed that:)
Nope. Not thanking Roberts. He didn’t uphold the law for atruistic reasons. It does benefit the insurance industry with millions of new customers. And he handed the Repubs that “increase in taxes” talking point that we’d better refute, and refute with grand outrage.
His job is not to be a lying, corporatist-whoring justice. He doesn’t get us fawning all over him because he did something right, for once.
The Oath for the Justices: I do solemnly swear that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich; and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge all the duties incumbent on me as according to the best of my abilities and understanding, agreeably to the constitution and laws of the United States.
That oath, with only minor changes, is the same one taken by Supreme Court justices to this day. Thankfully, Chief Justice John Roberts upheld this oath today. Thank you for your compassion for the American People

I don’t understand why the need to inch… just call a lie a lie.

How about impeaching Thomas since his wife works actively for anti-ACA?
How about impeaching Scalia for being a hunting buddy of Cheney during Bush v. Gore? And let’s impeach Thomas AGAIN since his wife was working on Bush’s transition team.

Health Care Decision A Victory For Everyone, Except Millions Of Poor People Maybe
by Josh Fruhlinger
Good news, liberal-arts majors with Internet connections! Now even though you don’t have a “real job” but are making a livable amount of money by cobbling together three blogging gigs and so don’t have health insurance, starting in 2014 you will be able to (and also required) to stone-cold buy health insurance from whoever you want — even if you have a pre-existing condition (i.e., herpes, we are going to guess that herpes is what you have). But wait, do you only have one blogging job, or maybe no blogging job and you work in a Wal-Mart, or as one of Newt Gingrich’s janitors or something, and so you can’t even afford to buy insurance through the subsidized exchanges and you were kind of counting on the expansion of the Medicaid to cover you? Well, we’ve got good news! Oh, do you live in a state with a Republican governor and/or legislature? Then we mean “bad news…”

These bastards needs some serious internet flames thrown their way. And by the way, come November, they should also be FIRED!!
Just a quick note and something we dfo have to be ready to counteract. Many headlines say the Justices call mandate a tax. It is important to not that only one Justice, Roberts, did that. The other four said it qualified under the Commerce Clause. That is why it was so important that Ginsburg write the other majority opinion. Keep reminding people of that if they complain about it being a tax.
It was upheld under the taxing authority. It actually lost under the Commerce Clause.
OMG! I don’t know whether to roll over laughing or throw up… (you decide for yourself)

Money bomb time! Last day is Friday to donate for the month of June.
This will also take away the- Uncertainty in the Markets- talking point!
The Romney campaign has raised over $375,000, as of 12:15 p.m., a spokeswoman tweets.
Jovie, I don’t think you should take this seriously, it’s likely just one or two R-money money men. Hell it’s probably a donation from Tag, Trip, Tiger, Tool Jr. and Tool Jr Jr.— or whatever the fuck those 5 mini pods’ names are.
Ha! Right on!
Jovie, do you believe everything those guys say? Remember their headman is a liar, and they are too. Now it could be true, I don’t know, but we got what we wanted right.
Yes! Let’s outraise them!
It’s up to a cool million now. yep, at this rate by nightfall he’ll have raised 4,173,585,875,153 gazillion, gabillion, tranillion dollars.
does anyone have the link for MSNBC’s live stream? I’d like to see what the fools are saying. I’ll be away from tv for the next 7 hours so I’d really like to see what’s going on.
I don’t know if they live stream at all. It usually takes a couple of hours before they put stuff up on the tubes. Here’s the link I have http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/8004316/

That is a very good point!
Cantor just said ACA prevents people from getting the health insurance they desire. I have heard Republicans say this often, but the lie is never addressed.
New post everyone:
Interesting, and faulty, take at CNN Money, talking about sharp sell off after ACA upheld. Earlier it was stocks lower due to uncertainty in Europe. The market opened almost 100 points down, currently 137 down. That is hardly a sharp selloff post the ruling. They are trying to say the market drop (which is really rather small) is due to the ruling. However, most of the drop was before the ruling. But this is your librul media at work.
Kinda dumb. Insurance companies stand to make huge profits off ACA.
Look at it this way, Crybabies Can’tor, Boner, McConnell, the dynamic #notsomuch trio: More reason to hit the pub after “work”! Order some milk and cookies, maybe, instead of your usual? Start workin’ up your resumes for Bain?
So true, Betty!
The Democrats need to get on tv and defend this Law.
I saw Deval Patrick in CNN just now, but mostly Republicans all over the Teevee.
Come on Democrats, fight these lying bastards.
