Yes indeed we do ;)
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? VC, would you mind producing the results from your most recent performance-enhancing drugs test? Thanks.
I sooo wish there was a baby in the White House. He’s so good with them.
CK, can you imagine that ‘poor’ overworked, caring man and his wife having to look after a baby at this point in time, at this point in the election, at this point in Sasha & Malia’s lives? Good as they both are with children I would not wish that for them now. The idea of it seems cool, but the reality of it just wouldn’t be, IMO.
Ha, they’re done with that, life moves on!
I know they’re done. I’m just saying..
I’m done too but now I have grand kids and guess what? They know who “President Obama” is and they stop whatever they are doing whenever they hear his voice on TV and they look at Grandpa and say, “that’s resident bama and he’s a good boy!” I tell them that he’s actually a “man” but they don’t quite have a grasp of that concept yet. ;-)
I just want President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama in the White House for four more years. Of course with Malia, Sasha, and Grandma. And don’t let me leave out Bo. OBAMA/ BIDEN 4 More Years
Hey! No fair Chips. I came in first and I only got one picture. How come I don’t get multiple prizes when I come in first? WAAAAAA! WAAAA!
But UT, it’s always a unique-ish occasion when VC is first, so it has to be marked in a very, very special kind of way.
See, UTAL, when you get one pic it’s packed full with a whole lot of emotion, like this one! Enjoy.
This one IS packed with emotion. Wow.
Look at that! Baby # 1 is looking at my president. Suhweet! Ooooh ….PBO & babies …and PBO and kids…and FLOTUS and kids! Aaawww! What a terrific start to my weekend!
I know they say not to look a gift horse in the mouth (not that *I* would ever look in any horse’s mouth), but I’m getting suspicious. Confess, Chips, you seem to have instigated a series of ‘heart’ test for the clientelle this afternoon/evening! So what is it you want to tell us that you want to be sure how hearts are sturdy enough to withstand? You and Newt have broken up? We realized THAT when you stopped showing off his manly form here. You have found a new love? Well just spit it out, as long as it’s not a ‘leader’ from the other side I will try to accustom myself to his taking up more of your time. Of course, you could try and hold him off until November 8th – the extra day is for you to rest after the election night party. So, what is it?
:D :D :D :D :D
You are definitely ‘pushing it,’ friend :D
    Well, Bobfr, don’t YOU wonder what’s going on, or are you too ‘chicken’ to wonder aloud?
You need to decode for me, vc, as I’m truly clueless that the ‘what’s going on’ refers :)
Then maybe you could ‘splain it to me, bobfr, I am out to lunch on this one! :)
Okay, I get it now.
By the way, those results you requested are being sent along with Mitt’s tax files. They should be there any time now.
What a day!
It is truly pathological behavior for anyone to be overjoyed that millions would be denied healthcare. We need to call out those sociopaths and this video is without a doubt a perfect, brief tool for doing so …

I am repairing the link and resending the above tweets. You can find them in my TL shortly. In case any of you missed the video, here it is:
Chips, everyone, can you imagine what Letterman, Colbert, Fallon, et al will do with this video!!!! I just hope @truthteam2012 etc make the most of it.
Jeez, why do these women would even want to work for that criminal ? And their disappointment over millions of people being saved is disgusting.
If you check my TL, you’ll see I’m doing everything I can to have this video go as viral as possible.
What is displayed in the video is the very core of evil in our society – a bunch of entitled sociopaths initially delighted at a ‘victory’ that would have imperiled literally MILLIONS of lives, would have meant anguish, pain, financial turmoil, … simply untold, incalculable human suffering.
When they realized their fondest wish to ‘defeat the you-know-what in the WH’ hadn’t happen, they pick up their toys and go and sulk and begin figuring how to ‘spin it.’
They are the polar opposites of each of us, of our President, and of the majority of Americans. They must be exposed for what they truly are – evil human beings, sociopaths of the first order.
How any person can derive joy in the face of another person suffering is beyond anything I can comprehend. But, we know some people do, and the least we can do is keep them out of any role in governing.
You, and others, who are skilled with graphics and video would be doing our fellow Americans a real service if you can find a way to capture the key frames in that 1:51 video and contrast them with the consequences had their wish come true – the devastating consequences on so many people’s lives. Rarely do you get a ‘raw’ view of just how deeply evil these people are – this video reveals it in a way that is unmistakable unless one is just as riveted to bigotry and inhumanity as Bondi, Scott, et al., are.
thanks a lot Bobfr!!!!!!
thank you for making all you can to make this video go viral. I will watch it multiple times and I will re-tweet it. people need to know what evil lies beneath the suits
this is one disgusting piece of eveil video!!! and they knew the cameras were rolling to capture what they expected tp be a defeat of Obamacares.
Thank you gclinda! for spreading the message. Yes, they were all ready to rejoice the vast pain and suffering that would have been wrought upon millions of our fellow citizens … and, they call themselves “christians” ….

Well that’s every “This and That” that we’ve ever had :)
For your Friday Night TOD Party Jam I give you…
Our World Famous Maryland Crab Cakes
•1 pound backfin Blue crab meat or other lump crab meat
•8 saltine crackers
•1 egg beaten
•2 tbsp mayonnaise
•1 tsp mustard
•1/4 tsp Worcestershire
•1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
•salt to taste
•2 tbsp vegetable oil
1.Carefully check the crab meat for any cartilage. Put meat in a bowl and set it aside.
2.Crush the saltine crackers very fine and mix with all the other ingredients. Gently fold in the crab. Only mix enough to combine ingredients. You don’t want to break up the crab into fine shreds. Shape into 6 crab cakes, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
3.Heat about 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a non-stick frying pan. Sauté until golden brown on each side. This will only take about 3-5 minutes per side.
Garnish with tartar sauce, remoulade, or simply with a squeeze of lemon.
Donna, what is Old Bay seasoning?…
You’ll find it in most supermarkets. It’s a type of seafood seasoning. Goes great with crab. How I wish I had some. Crab, that is.
I’ve put my order in for the 4th of July. You just cannot have a 4th celebration here in the MD area without steamed crabs. Yummmyyyyyy!!!!
Thanks for the recipe! Now I’m starving! And craving crabcakes:)
Ahhh that’s our speciality season salt that “makes” our crab cakes.
Here you go http://www.oldbay.com/Products/Old-Bay-Seasoning.aspx
Thanks :)….I just did a quick search and it’s sold in Canada since 2007….I will look for it…….
Old Bay is a seasoning manufactured by McCormick and sold just about everywhere in the DC, Maryland, VA area. It is generally used in seafood recipes, although the label says use in poultry, salads and meat. I don’t know if it’s sold in other places. I live in Maryland and Old Bay seasoning is a staple in my seafood recipes.
All across the South! I know it well! :~)
Old Bay is everywhere:)
yummy! Crab Cakes! I love ‘em! I’m makin’ these :D

Are you flirting with me Chips?
PBO is off to Camp David until next Tuesday. I hope he gets some great R & R.
Isn’t Malia’s birthday coming up next Thursday? Hope they have some away-from-media time for a good family party this weekend.
Yes, July the 4th, our sweet “little” beauty Malia will be 14 years old! I see a couple more gray hairs in PBO’s future.
I think Malia birthday is Wednesday July 4th. 14 years old Miss Malia Obama will be.
So the First Family will be going to Camp David for the week-end. Dam it. How much tax dollars is that costing us? Another vacation. I hope they enjoy themselves.
GREAT post, love all the photos and videos… thanks Ms Chips!
My pleasure andogriff ;-)
PBO can talk to that Incident Commander for as LOOOOOOOOOOONNG as he wants.
From our VP Joe
Yesterday I shared an emotional moment with Barack in the Oval Office after he learned health reform had been upheld.
Barack Obama is a man who refused to give up. No matter how politically unpopular it was, he knew it was the right thing to do.
Tomorrow is the biggest fundraising deadline of this election so far. Romney and the Republicans may outraise us again — you can bet they’ll have a whole slew of special interests who want to see Romney make good on his promise to repeal Obamacare on Day One.
But they can’t beat us if we pull together. Our grassroots movement is unstoppable when we put our minds to it.
Please donate before the critical deadline.
Well who can resist VP Joe… I’m on my way to put a little in some of those FR Thermometers.
Thank you DD4O! Ka-Ching! Obama~Biden 2012! Because I said so!
I’m from Canada and sure wish I could help out the Obama/Biden campaign. :-(
I feel strongly that you guys are going to prevail in November…it seems you have a great campaign going on there. :)
I love Ottawa and the Canadians I have met.
although you may not be able to donate money you can help out PBO in a number of non-cash ways such as:
-creating a visual aid to show your support,
-highlighting PBO’s policies and combating anti-obama lies and rants using the internet,
– contacting Americans you know and remind them to register to vote or convincing them to vote for POTUS,
-sending suggestions to the campaign about ideas that will win
– Praying (if prayers are your kind of thing)

“YES WE CAN CAN” OBAMA 2012
Truly, these people are ****ing deranged:
House Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) attorneys on Friday formally appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court an appeals court decision determining the Defense of Marriage Act was unconstitutional, according to a Democratic aide.
Sorry for not linking, but it’s from GOPolitico’s loathsome Donovan Slack ….. who is now severely struggling to hide her contempt for PBO, it’s one pathetic hit piece after another, usually taken straight from an RNC or Romney campaign press release.
They truly are doing everything the can to ensure that all but a tiny fringe of totally frightened and similarly deranged people are even willing to consider voting on 6 Nov let alone actually make the effort to cast a vote.
Hi ho what do you say? Barack Obama all the way! Hi ho whaddya say? Obama/Biden are here to stay!
Chips, I watched every video and now I can’t stop sobbing. I know this sounds silly – heck maybe even crazy – but I love this man so much. My support for him has never waned and it never will. I wish I was still in a position to give this election my all the way I did back in 2008.
I’m so thankful for this place where I can come and feel safe and comfortable knowing the people here also supports our President. It’s what binds us together today and will bind us tomorrow. It’s what makes us a family.
Bless everyone. Have a lovely weekend!
Oh Hachikō, you’re lovely. I come from a family where showing your emotions was never deemed a good thing, usually mocked as a weakness. Weird shit. So I tend only to let it all go when temper gets the better of me. But since his inauguration, PBO has filled me with a joy I have never known before. As I keep saying, I feel blessed to be alive in his time. His achievements, in the face of all this venom, are spectacular, but what restores my faith more than anything: a thoroughly decent human being occupies the Oval Office. Little wonder the world – and us – loves the fella. Look after yourself.

I didn’t start out that way, but I have made a 180 degree turn and am so very, very proud of how PBO has conducted himself. I love his intelligence, compassion and use of history in his speeches..you can’t imagine how thankful I am everyday, that this amazing man is running this wonderful country.
I’m tellin ya’ll – Obama is superman. lol
No, President Obama is not superman, he is a human being. lol No matter how much we like and respect this man we must remember that.

A bus filled with politicians was driving through the countryside one day, on the campaign trail. The bus driver, caught up in the beautiful scenery, loses control and crashes into the ditch. A farmer living nearby hears the horrible crash and rushes out to discover the wreckage. Finding the politicians, he buries them.
The next day, the police come to the farm to question the man. “So you buried all the politicians?” asked the police officer. “Were they all dead?”
The farmer answered, “Some said they weren’t, but you know how politicians lie.”

Scott Walker Gets Smacked Down by the Constitution and Told to Implement Obamacare politicususa.com/scott-walker-s… via @politicususa— Jan Burch (@LiberallyJan) June 30, 2012
Scott Walker got schooled today by the Wisconsin Republican AG. Van Hollen told Walker that actually, Governor Walker has to comply with federal law and implement Obamacares.
Two days ago I told you how Scott Walker had announced he was going to violate federal law by not implementing the Affordable Care Act even if the Supreme Court upheld it. His plan was to just wait until the “next president” repealed it.
After they upheld it, the cheese state cowboy who acts like Bush but is really more Nixon sans the smarts doubled down, flaunting his lawless defiance of the law:
It turns out that even the Republican Wisconsin AG Van Hollen agrees that yes, Walker has to comply with federal law. You might recall Van Hollen, he was the lawyer for Wisconsin in the lawsuit filed against ObamaCares, so it’s not as if he’s pro-ACA. In 2008, Van Hollen sued the Wisconsin state elections agency to force the Government Accountability Board to check voter registrations for accuracy (his suit was thrown out for lack of standing). But even Van Hollen’s partisan prejudice can’t stop him from acknowledging that there are some laws even Republicans must follow.
What a treasonous a-hole.
Four US students who gained infamy after a video of their verbal abuse towards a bus monitor went viral have been suspended from school for a year.
Footage of the 12- and 13-year-olds taunting Karen Klein has been viewed some 8 million times.
The school system in the New York state town of Greece says the students must also complete 50 hours of community service with senior citizens.
Mrs Klein, 68, said she did not want the boys to face criminal charges.
She told the Associated Press last week that others should not harass or threaten the students.
“That’s not the way to go about things,” she said. “They’re just kids.”
A classy lady.
Yes she is. She had the patience of Job on that bus. I probably would have been a lot less kinder than she was.
Yay, Fedex in 4th round (From two sets down…. phew)
OK, so I think we can expect some sort of brouhaha when the report on Scott Gration comes out, especially since he was a very early PBO supporter since way back when. Oh well, another week, another RWNJ obsession.

Oh boy. It’s going to be a poutrage fest next week.
Yep, you know it.

one more lie joke.
A lady calls the police to report her husband is missing. The police arrive and ask for a description. She tells them he’s 6 feet 2 inches tall, blonde wavy hair and has a smile that makes everybody love him.
The police then go to the next door neighbor to verify this report and the lady next door tells the police, “You can’t believe her. He’s 5 feet 4 inches tall, has no hair and he wears a perpetual frown on his face.”
The neighbor then goes and asks the lady why she gave the police such a false report. She replies, “Just because I reported him missing, doesn’t mean I wanted him back!”
Ok, that was not a lie joke. It’s a wimmin!!! joke.
Am I the only freak excited by http://www.letour.fr/indexTDF_us.html ???
Ah Tally, I used to LOVE the Tour, until I learnt it was the Chemical Olympics, dominated by drug-fuelled con artists like Stephen Roche, Lance Armstrong, Alberto Contador, Floyd Landis and the like. Couldn’t give a flying **** who wins the charade now.
These two books brought me to my senses:
Rough Ride: Behind the Wheel With a Pro Cyclist (Yellow Jersey Cycling Classics)
From Lance to Landis: Inside the American Doping Controversy at the Tour de France
I love you, and I agree that many are drugged. Lance is clean, and I’ll believe that until a negative test comes back. Not only is he the most tested human on planet Earth (blood, urine, HAIR), has had zero positive tests, and even a two-year federal grand jury investigation found NOTHING, – talk to anyone who has gone through Chemo – there is NO WAY he’d dope.
He’s also the human version of Secretariat. He’s a freak: enlarged heart, processes lactic acid better, and rebuilt his body on a BIKE coming off chemo, not in a gym. He has muscles most humans don’t have – kind of like ballet dancers have different muscles.
That said – It’s FRANCE in HD!!! It’s go beyond gorgeous!!! Once upon a time my dream of what to do when I win the lotto was to take he QEII to Southampton, then fly the Concord home. Now that that’s a bust, I’d like to VIP chase Le Tour. :D :D :D
Tally, I love you back, intensely, but – from the pit of my heart – I regard Armstrong as the greatest sporting fraud in history. I can’t begin to describe how much I despise him, particularly his Livestrong bullshit, giving false hope to cancer sufferers in an effort to cast himself as heroic. He is NOTHING of the sort, he is the dregs of humanity, a worthless, fraudulent cheat.
He HAS failed tests, repeatedly, France’s L’Equipe proved that, but he was way too valuable a product for the cycling world for them ever to reveal the truth – just like the Olympic people covered up all the failed drug tests at the 1984 LA Games.
David Walsh’s book (the second link I posted) is simply astonishing, Armstrong is not only a fraud, he dragged others down with him, mercilessly. Walsh is one of the very great sports journalists of our time, his unveiling of Armstrong his finest hour.
Please, read the book. Armstrong is not only a fraud, he’s a sinister, nasty piece of work. I ****ing HATE him.
Well – perhaps the USADA has proof of his positive tests.
He also drove his girlfriend Sheryl Crow crazy in their relationship. He was starting to really piss off her band and crew while touring, trying to tell them all what to do and trying to take charge. I think that was when she said…”you’re outta here you nut job” She dumped him fast.
Yes, TDF is full — or was full — of drug cheats. But I just can’t quit it. It’s a spectacle. And it’s France!
PRECISELY!!! I can’t WAIT!!!
A great book is, It’s Not About The Bike – Lance Armstrong (especially if you or anyone you love has or has gone through cancer.) So amazing.
Tally, a depressing number of my family and friends have gone through cancer, some of them are still battling it. But none of them is inspired by Armstrong, they all know he’s a fraud.
FUCK. I had all this stuff written, and it disappeared. wah. I’ve had several friends helped by Luvestrong. One wouldn’t have made it without. Cancer is ugly – whatever gets you through it.
I hope your loved ones win their battle. Cancer scares me beyone imagining. Especially with our burn/poison/profit industry we have in place here in the US to treat it. But that is another discussion entirely.

This is OT, but IMO, I really hate it when Rachel does these reports like the one she did on Palistan tonight. I don’t think it helps our security abroad for these type of stories to be done especially when we already have a rocky relation with Pakistan.
COS, I agree with you. Rachel is selling her book. She enjoys being a ‘smart-ass.’ She enjoys being contrarian, Sometimes that’s good, sometimes that’s bad. In the Pakistan story, I think it was bad. But her book is on how the US gets into war, so she was proud of herself with that story.
For me, most times, it just gets on my nerves. Something about her voice that drips sarcasm, even when she’s serious. I guess I just don’t like her as a host. I opened a link that someone shared, so it was on for the Pakistan story. Plus, I did enjoy the short piece she did on the Staff Sgt who was drafted, at 27, into the NBA. I usually just watch Rev Al and Martin Bashir.
Agree with everything you said.
By refusing to implement O'care exchange, Bobby Jindal is only ensuring that feds do it w/o his input: wapo.st/LK55bL— Greg Sargent (@ThePlumLineGS) June 29, 2012
I am ashamed that this punk is from India.
ol’ Piyush Jindal is a real piece of hateful work.
I fucking hate indians who ‘anglicize’ their names in ‘murka just to ‘fit in’ on the first name basis. I mock at my own friends who did that to their great annoyance. When I studied in US, I found many of the white americans who were my classmates made it a point to get my name pronounced though it’s full of vowels.
We love vowels in TODville!! Especially O.
I too have two A’s and one O in my first name. :)
My last name is just a scramble of three U’s and two A’s.
I think Indian names are gorgeous. But I have a thing for foreign things. I’m strange that way.
Everytime I respond to ANYTHING about him, I call him by his given name. He is, using the most derisive terms that his fellow Re-thug-licans use, an “anchor baby” in that his mother was pregnant with him, when his parents emigrated from Punjab, India to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Same with Nimrata Randhawa Haley (that would be “Nikki” Haley, Re-thug-lican Governor of South Carolina.) She went so far as to change her race. As far as she’s concerned, she’s white. That’s how she registered herself to vote, even though both of her (biological) parents and her siblings identify as South Asians. (Can you say voter fraud, anyone??? )
Isonprize, I had forgotten that Piyush was his real name. He is a total turd and a fraud. The only thing that I can see is how he was holding that huge stimulus check taking credit for it. Are all republicans dishonest?
Don’t feel bad amk, me being an Irish gal …. I won’t repeat what I muttered to myself about the Supreme Court Kennedy chap yesterday, all I can reveal is that I’d like him to have to eat toe-jam for the rest of his days.
OMG, RIGHT??? WTF??? That was my BIG SHOCK.
You know what amk, every family has it’s own misfits. As an AA, I am ashamed of Justice Thomas, Allan West, Allan Keys and Michael Steele.

FTMFW! | World’s media really wanted to believe our very fake Cristiano Ronaldo story | Dirty Tackle – Yahoo! Sports sports.yahoo.com/blogs/soccer-d…— Liberal Librarian (@Lib_Librarian) June 30, 2012
Yahoo’s Dirty Tackle blog falls in to the “do not miss” category, its story on Cristiano Ronaldo missing his flight home to Portugal from Euro 2012 one of its biggest scoops ever.
He was, they reported, “left shaking his head and pulling up the legs of his shorts as he watched the plane fly off without him”.
“It was just a question of me speaking with the travel planner,” said a clearly distraught Ronaldo. “She said to me, ‘Do you want to sit in the fifth zone – in the back of the plane?’ and I said ‘yes’. Sometimes I sit in the first, the second or the third. I agreed to take the fifth. And then I went to get a Cinnabon and the plane took off without me.”
The flight’s captain, Ted Mendes, had no sympathy for the fella, though.
“If he wanted to be sure he was on the plane, he should have boarded sooner. Maybe if he did, he would’ve sat next to the emergency exit and Bruno Alves wouldn’t haven’t knocked the door open mid-flight.”
By mid-day Twitter was aflutter over the news. “OMG, how can they have missed him,” wrote one distressed Ronaldo fan.
On being informed by, oh, several thousand Twitterers than the story was a joke, the gist of the response from the Ronaldo fans was: “OMG! IT’S NOT FUNNY.”
You had to laugh, though.
I adore DT. And I love the comments from people who say: “This isn’t news”. No, it’s humor!
It’s brilliant LL, love it – it’s mindboggling how many of the people commenting there don’t get the giggles!
So – who are you guys picking for Sunday? I say Spain.
Good evening, TOD family! First I want to thank everyone who has contributed to my fundraising page. You are awesome! And I know that every contribution adds to the total and represents a tiny piece of the campaign. Our President may be outspent, but he will never be “outloved”. There – I have just invented a new word.
It has been a big week for me. Monday I had the great honor of making a pitch for OFA and encouraging 1800 people to get more involved in the campaign to make sure that our outstanding President will have four more years. This was at Boston’s Symphony Hall. My little speech came right after a passionate address by our Governor Deval Patrick (really an incredibly tough act to follow). Then Elizabeth Warren introduced the President. He was great and he had an enthusiastic crowd. People stood up and applauded at least a dozen times. Of course, the President also had a little fun with the Red Sox fans.
Tuesday, I spent a lot of time on 1:1 meetings with potential volunteers in a community where we are just begining to organize.
Wednesday there was a team meeting with one of my more established teams. We set up a summer program for voter registration, door-to-door canvassing and trips to New Hampshire. Thursday was phone bank day and, of course, the topic of the day was the ACA and the Supreme Court’s decision. I am so happy that the ACA will stand and I believe that people will soon realize what a blessing this new law really is for so many. I can’t wait for the rebate checks to arrrive at people’s homes to remind them that their health care is now more important than the insurance company’s profits. Cost control is the real difference between Obamacare and Romneycare – but then Mr. Romney does not want to be reminded how persuasively he once argued for the individual mandate- without those cost controls.
Today I am trying to catch up with the paperwork and confirm everyone going to New Hampshire tomorrow. Three of my teams are participating and I will be going as well. I am looking forward to it – canvassing is my favorite activity. Tomorrow night I will be pet-sitting and telling a very intelligent little dog all about it. And, of course, I’ll be checking out the latest on TOD.
Thank you so much for ALL that you’re Doing, hgerhard! I take it you were able to breathe your way through your “little speech” following Gov Patrick? Congrats on your Fundraising!
Standnig ovation for you, hgerhard! Well done! I would have been a puddle!
Everyone like you working their tails off in OFA will even the playing field for our President against the billionaires trying to buy this election and bamboozle the low-information voters. I am so buoyed by the good news this week. Thank you, Hgerhard and everyone else working in the trenches and donating whatever you can spare!
Bravo hgerhard! You ARE the Change! Thank you for your work, thank you for your service, thank you for your heart!
Something from our neck of the woods..
“Hawaii bets right on SCOTUS health care ruling”
HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaii bet correctly that the Supreme Court would uphold the bulk of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, but the state plans a full analysis to see how the lengthy ruling affects plans to implement the law.
The Thursday ruling upheld the law’s key provisions — including its hotly-debated requirement that nearly every American carry health insurance — and kept Hawaii largely in line with legislation it supported since its passage.
Hawaii Gov. Neil Abercrombie, a Democrat, said that the politics around the issue won’t go away, but the state is keeping its priority of making sure Hawaii residents have a high quality system with sustainable costs.”
“The Affordable Care Act is our ally in Hawaii to provide health care for everyone,” Abercrombie said Thursday. “We’re pioneers in it.”

Feels good to live in a State where the Leaders appreciate the ACA being UPHELD ’cause it’s CONSTITUTIONAL!
Aloha and mahalo!!!
Well well well..look who’s not as popular as Lifetime thought she would be..
“Lifetime Buries Its Bristol Palin Bomb Out Back and Hopes We Don’t Notice”
“There are numerous reasons why Bristol Palin’s reality show failed, but the biggest one is that the show is awful. I mean really, really awful. Like bad mockumentary awful. It may be most unwatchable 60 minutes on television. Somebody at Lifetime was fooled into thinking that Bristol Palin’s Dancing With The Stars appearance meant that she was popular. What they might not have known was that Palinbots rigged the vote for Bristol because they thought that it would help resurrect their Joan of Noah’s Ark, Sarah Palin, back from the political dead.
Lifetime got suckered, and like every other individual or organization that has either paid or voted for a Palin, they are now left holding the bag. It looks like the grifting gravy train may finally be coming to an end. Sarah PAC can’t raise money, Mama Grizzle has been reduced to giving speeches for free, and Bristol Palin got the boot off prime time after just two episodes.”
I hope this is the last of these wasilla hillbillies that America will have to deal with. When the hell does the grizzled momma’s contract end with Fox News? What a effing embarrassment John McCain put on the people of the U.S.
ZOMFG!!!! Here is the BEST THING [OT] TODAY!!!! Enjoy!
OMG! I saw this last night! I thought I’d post it here, then I thought “no one here would be weird enough to love this as much as I do. They’ll think I’m nuts! ” Ha ha hahaha ha ha ha! :-) :-) :-)
I LOVE YOU TALLY! I LOVE MY TOD FAMILY!!! :-D
By the way, Goyte’s Smoke and Mirrors is in my car right now on continuous loop. I love him too!
Greeting TODers from beautiful New Zealand where I’ve been the past 10 days, logging in multiple times (adding to those all important “hits”) to get my dose of good news, love and laughter from this amazing community (thx Chips!). Wanted to pass along this email from Lt. Governor Elizabeth Roberts of RI. She’s been moving ahead assuming a positive outcome all along!
Supreme Court Upholds Affordable Care Act
Yesterday, the Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act, ruling the law constitutional with some restriction. Here is what the ruling means to Rhode Islanders…
Yesterday’s Supreme Court decision was received as positive news for Rhode Island’s ongoing efforts to implement the federal health reform law. Governor Chafee expressed his full commitment to ensuring Rhode Island is a national leader in implementing tLt. Gov Roberts at press conferencehe law no matter how the Supreme Court ruled, however, the Governor said the decision just reinforced that commitment.
Rhode Island has been implementing the federal health reform law for over two years, beginning with Lt. Governor Roberts’ early efforts in 2010 to ensure Rhode Island had a clear path ahead toward achieving universal coverage for Rhode Islanders. With the Supreme Court’s ruling, that path has been cleared for the state to move forward in partnership with the federal government and continue to benefit from its support and funding.
The Supreme Court decision means up to 120,000 uninsured Rhode Islanders will be able to enroll in healthcare coverage starting October 1, 2013 and will have access to the coverage by January 1, 2014. Rhode Island families and small businesses soon will have an online marketplace known as the RI Health Benefits Exchange where they can easily buy and compare health insurance options. Some residents will even qualify for free or low-cost insurance depending on their income. Rhode Islanders will begin to hear more about this marketplace in the coming months.
There are many popular health reforms offered through the law that are already in place in Rhode Island and making a difference for people throughout the state. These benefits include providing new coverage options for young adults; making prescription drugs affordable for seniors; covering preventive services with no deductible or co-pay; scrutinizing unreasonable premium increases; removing lifetime limits on health benefits; creating new coverage options for individuals with pre-existing conditions; creating tax credits for premiuims paid by small businesses and non-profits; and preventing illness and promoting health. These are just a few of the ways Rhode Islanders will continue to benefit from the law, and a complete list can be found here: http://www.healthcare.gov/law/resources/index.html.
Thank you for that email from your Lt Gov, Susan. It’s seems eventually the people who live in the states with Gov and Leaders who care about their population will be most noticeably Better Off than those like Wis and Louisianna where the govs are Scrooges except when it comes to giving tax cuts to their billionaire donors.
How Lucky to be in New Zealand for a visit..I hear from my daugther it’s Grand!
Hi Cha, it IS grand! Your daughter lives here. Lucky her – although food prices are astronomical by U.S. standards.
Yup, we’re quite lucky compared to states with repub govs and Elizabeth is a terrific Lt. Governer. Hope you aren’t suffering in one of those Repub states.
Hey Susan..I live on Kaua’i.. and we have a wonderful Democratic Gov Abercrombie but the food prices for what I eat(organic) are pretty astronomical if ya ask me!
My daughter and her Fam have only visited NZ to see her sister-in-law. Her husband is Australian but they live in Portland, Ore. She’s just a little world traveler!
That is AWESOME!! And NEW ZEALAND!!! Go crash the Hobbit set!! :D :D :D
WALDO CANYON FIRE: Obama brings laughter back to city

Love that writer and his honest decent take here.
Excellent article on making the best of a dire situation, JER, ,THANK YOU! A snip..
When a couple drunks stumbled up and started trash talking about Obama, several in the crowd quickly confronted them.
“Show some respect,” demanded Jack Martinez, who waited, camera in hand, to see the president of the United States.
Martinez explained Obama’s visit wasn’t about politics or his re-election campaign. He believed Obama simply wanted to convey to victims the sympathies of the nation.
Obama also came to thank the hundreds of firefighters risking their lives to save Colorado. And he tried to assure the entire city that every resource available would be put into the fight against the wildfire.
Martinez was angry that a couple barflies wanted to use the tragedy to launch personal attacks against Obama.
“I’m glad he’s in town,” Martinez said as heads around him nodded agreement. “He should be here.”,/strong>

Forgive me for mangling the snip..
Because nothing says “Normal Americans” like this!
Morgan Stanley employees have been invited to a fundraising event with Mitt Romney, to take place next month at the firm’s corporate headquarters in New York City.
In an email sent to employees on June 11, with the subject line “an invitation to meet with Mitt Romney,” a group of Morgan Stanley executives said they were “writing to invite you to a breakfast on July 9 in support of Mitt Romney, former Governor of Massachusetts and Republican nominee for President of the united states.” The event is scheduled for 8 a.m. on the 41st floor of the the Morgan Stanley building in midtown Manhattan.
uh-oh,it’s at 8 am, and that means coffee, and that means those round thingies with the brown icing ! of course, this is a venture capitalist meeting, so maybe they have fois gras and champagne, which robme can easily pronounce.
Anyone see this good news even if it is from Nate Silver?

yeah, what else is new ?
Hope they didn’t PAY anyone to find that out.
Bobfr, Chips or anyone of you creative TOD family,
After watching the video that Bobfr has been tweeting which shows gov scott and other rightwingers’ angry reaction to the SCOTUS ruling on ACA, I believe that this clip could be combined with the clip of the rightwingers celebrating the US loss of the Chicago Olympic bid.
this video could be entitled : malice of the republicans.
some of the comments it could include in this combined video are:
“who side are these republicans on?”
“maliciously and gleefully routing for the failure of the US and fellow Americans”
and it could end with the question: “would you put your future in these malicious republican hands?”
Agree, gclinda, that the juxtaposition of the two threads would drive the message, as you suggest. I also think the fact that Bondi was using an iPad offers the opportunity for a major contrast – EtchASketch 20th Century tech vs iPad 21st Century tech. No matter how hard she might want to shake it, that YouTube video, and all it reveals in less than 2 min, is for posterity.
But, the best I can offer are tweets, we need to leave the multimedia to folk with talents I don’t have – though everything I’m currently building is certainly going to extend the infrastructure for those whom do have it to thrive, persist and be present way more efficiently and effectively.
Have added a series of this tweet to my TL:
@davidaxelrod #Bondi & #GovScott will never be able to #EtchASketch the disdain for millions of Americans revealed here youtube.com/watch?v=0V0p-v…— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) June 30, 2012
Who is Bondi? The blondie? And if she is the blondie, what the hell does she do?
I forgot to add, they seemed happy and had to take a recess, but then while the blond girl and the other guy looked again at the i-pad things looked they changed into the real decision of the scotus. ???
Fl. AG. She was the first to file the challenge to ACA. And she’s just a heartless hater.
Attorney general? What a heartless bitch. I’m not sure why I am wondering why she is the Attourney General. I’ve got presumptions going on in my head right now about this team, Scott and her. hmmmmm…
Must read from ABL:
Thx for that, df! That was irritating me that malkin was trying to use these people in the path of Colorado’s fierce fires as her excuse to spread her propganda filth.
You’re welcome, Cha.. she did a really good job with this. Funny how these people want “small govt” until they don’t. What a farce.
Any questions? MSNBC…..WTH are you thinking??????????????
Given a brand new show with a relatively inexperienced and young cast, there are bound to be clumsy moments. But S.E. Cupp’s revelation today that the well-researched months long investigation of Fast and Furious by Fortune Magazine had been debunked, was something special.
Touré: Who did the debunking?
S.E. Cupp: Oh, you can read about it at Townhall.
My “gift” to all you footballers out there…I am not, but I found this for you:)
A 5 year old decides to give her her 3 year old sister a hair-cut. And their dad 'interrogates' them. Cute audio :) prx.org/pieces/73865-t…— (@amk4obama) June 30, 2012
You gotta listen to this audio clip. Cute overdose.
Adorable and priceless! Loved it!
So cute, I hate it when my hair makes my hips itch. I wish my mom was as understanding when I cut my bangs at 9yrs old. I guess when she asked what happened and I lied that some “boy” cut my hair. I got a whipping for lying.
I shall be posting pictures tomorrow on Twitter from my night at Hollywood Park race track. For now, I’m bushed. Night all. Oh, and I won 16 bucks! On my very first horse! Yay me!
Way to go LL. Sounds like you are one of the “big betters” like my son and I!
The Republicans have started their lying about the ACA all ready. The White House and Democrats have to put the truth out there and not let these lying bastards get away with it.
paul krugman says here that what’s most striking about the aca-haters is, yes, their ‘dishonesty’, but even more shockingly, their ‘cruelty’. they have no plan and no interest in assuring health care for all americans. so ugly and bizarre. so, yes, anniebella, the educating of reasonable people must continue. as for the crazies, let them self-deport to romnesia!
p.s. this article is in the salt lake tribune, and it is completely pro-pbo! beautiful!

Morning everyone ;-)
Here are a couple of good articles from PBO’s visit yesterday
WALDO CANYON FIRE: Obama brings laughter back to city
“I’m glad he’s in town,” Martinez said as heads around him nodded agreement. “He should be here.”
After about 40 minutes, the chatter stopped as the motorcade stirred. The press corps was hustled into vans. The doors of the black SUV with the presidential seal opened and Obama hopped inside.
The crowd around me roared. Cheered. Hollered words of support.
Some in the crowd said Obama waved as he sped off. They were thrilled.
I saw a soldier in camouflage on the curb snap to attention and salute as Obama drove past.
It was good to see the community smile again. No doubt, there will be more tears before this is over.
But I sensed the crowd was comforted to know we’re not alone. That our president cares. Our nation cares.

The mayor of this beleaguered city told reporters after President Barack Obama departed on Air Force One that he was thankful for the visit and described his two-and-a-half hours with the president during the tour of the Waldo Canyon Fire damage.
Air Force One was wheels up from Colorado Springs airport at 2:42 p.m. Afterward Colorado Springs Mayor Steve Bach said the firefighting effort “shows the power of federal, state and local governments working together.”
Bach was in the limo with Obama, Gov. John Hickenlooper and others for about 2 1/2 hours. He said the president was “very down to earth, very straightforward, smart, and wants to help.”
In the limo, they talked about the fire as well as the economy. Bach told the president unemployment is high here, and “our people need jobs.”
“I told him we need his help to get the economy going again,” Bach said.
They also talked about basketball and golf, their families, and — the theme that kept coming up — the importance of community.
“We can provide resources at federal level but we can’t provide courage,” Bach said.
Bach said the mood in the limo was somber as they drove through Mountain Shadows. Obama was “very taken by what he saw.”
He described the president as “very engaging.” Bach said his most poignant memory of the visit will be that on several occasions Obama got out of car, came right up to engage the people and hugged them, thanking them.
“I think he was very sincere in that,” he said.
“It was more than a photo op for him. He clearly wanted to say to the people, the firefighters, ‘this matters and the country has your back.’ That means a lot.”
