Chips you have been touching my tender spots lately.
This campaign is so amazing, so very inclusive of everyone. I am thankful for Mr. Abram’s brother who took the time to teach him sign language which allowed him to be independently productive in his community. The auto bailed out also saved pensions. WOW.
I totally second every thing you said, Susanne! Chips is doing a wonderful job and so are all the people working hard to re-elect President Obama. Mr. Powell seems to be such a warm and delightful human being.

I love this ad! Once again it highlights that PBO is the president for all Americans. The outreach and the inclusiveness of his campaign and his administration is one of the many reasons that I admire him so much.
Love the video, too. In DC the school for the deaf is Gallaudet University, As a teen, I had a very good friend who attended and I got the chance to visit the school several times. It was amazing.
BTW, Ms. Chips where’s my picture? Pretty, pretty please. I’ll love whatever you choose.

Oops – I missed the new post! Talking to myself back there.
Now I have a sad. On my way back from lunch, I went out of my way to drive past the Romney Victory Center in our town in hopes of seeing the Romney bus and Gov. Jindahl emerging. Nope – didn’t see a thing. There were a lot of cars around there, but it was probably for the 2 restaurants lunch specials.
They aren’t getting any live press coverage either – becaue they picked the day when 10,000+ bike riders arrive in our part of the state and we Iowans are way more interested in that. Way to check the local schedule for conflicts, dudes. Of course, there was no coverage of them from the earlier visit east of here in Davenport either. I’m sure they’ll get a mention on the back page of the paper tomorrow.
I totally stand with President Obama. I wish I had a lot of money to donate!! Heard an interesting comment a couple of weeks ago about all the polls. The ones to watch are the individual purple states. Obama is still leading in all of them! I live in Georgia which couldn’t be any redder but I will still go out and vote for him.
As Ann Richards said of George W. Bush, Mitt Romney was born with a silver foot in his mouth. Team Mitt is in the middle of major damage control after the Trip Laughed At Around The World.
Here’s the diplomatic triumph that his handlers emailed to reporters:
“…Mr. Romney’s campaign was trying to keep press accounts of the candidate’s visit on the positive side. On Thursday, for instance, Mr. Romney toured an exhibit with Foreign Secretary William Hague, his campaign shared in an e-mail that their conversation was “broad and wide ranging,” and included issues like the importance of free trade, and the situations in Syria and Egypt and the Arab Spring.
“Also worth noting,” the e-mail read, “they both discussed their mutual love of Kit Kat bars.”
In the past I have said when it comes to having any positive rationale to be President, Mitt Romney has got nothing. I now humbly and publicly eat my words. Mitt Romney has Kit Kat bars, people. Kit Kit bars.

After watching the above inspiring video of Mr. Powell, I see another reason Robme wanted GM to fail…..Robme hates when people who worked hard for their pensions loose them. Just think of the millions of people – Black and White – who would have losted or had their pensions reduced and the American people would have had to foot the bill. Thank You Mr. President!

It has been soooo interesting here this morning that I totally missed going to lunch with my elder friends. I sat here on this blog missing spaghetti and garlic bread you could die for to keep reading about Mitt’s blunders in London. I will need to dig up something special in my frig to offset the spaghetti I missed. LOL
It was worth it today, to read about Mitt’s incompetency being revealed on the world stage. There’s a reason the job he’s seeking is referred to as the “Leader of the Free World”. I hope the idiots who support him take another look at Mitt’s claim that President Obama is the one who is in over his head.
But the surprising thing is that Romney didn’t even have that, or any other handy answer to the question. This is a pretty bad political messaging slip-up, but it also indicates a larger problem: Republicans haven’t really internalized the degree to which Bush’s policies truly failed to produce strong economic growth. They blame him for letting spending grow too high, and they recognize that the crash was a bad thing, but conservative rhetoric almost uniformly fails to acknowledge that even pre-crash growth under Bush was absolutely miserable.

Fareed Zakharia says Willard is “strangely amateurish” on foreign policy, said he seems to not have been briefed, not prepared. As in, someone should have reminded Willard that you don’t insult a host country. And, by the way, isn’t that just common sense, common courtesy? Willard is so lacking in decency standards, an embarrassment. He’s taken “these cookies look terrible, must have come from 7-11″ to another level, to a larger, brighter stage, making his serious deficiencies painfully obvious to all.
@FareedZakaria Doesn't take any preparation to know you don't saunter into your #AngloSaxon buddies home, insult them & blabber about M16.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) July 26, 2012
Not common sense for willard. Common sense for mittard is to throw out $10,000 bets, his wife has a couple of cadillacs, lie his ass off about PObama, whine when he’s called on his lies, etc etc etc.

I really think it is a personality disorder. Romney is just disconnected. He did the same thing when he went to the NAACP, same thing when he sat down with some voters and he turned up his nose at the cookies because they looked like it came from “7-11″ and then with the same disgusted expression asked the woman next to him if she made it/was it home made.
I hear you. Still his behavior seems to be linked to a disorder. He has absolutely no empathy. Another example — Like that recent story about the dinner when one woman had problems in her pregnancy and another woman had cancer. The pregnant woman was not feeling well and he turns to her and says “buck up” you could be like “her” and points to the woman that has cancer. That is not normal. It isn’t.
My son had similar traits in lack of empathy when he was younger. We saw it , recognized it as a potential long term behavioral issue, addressed it and was able to correct it. That is what I am saying.
Romney sees nothing wrong with any of this. This behavior clearly was never addressed. It is not natural and can be dangerous if unchecked. No way would I want him as POTUS.
‘his behavior seems to be linked to a disorder. He has absolutely no empathy.’
I said way back when and still do believe that Willard is on the autism spectrum. His social skills meter is virtually non-existent, he is often lacking in expression, is very robotic, is tactlessly blunt, changes his personal ‘truth’ to match the moment, lacks nuance, lacks empathy and doesn’t know when to shut up. Now I have no medical/clinical or whatever expertise to say this, but IMO Mitt has a lot of similarities with the handful of Asperger Syndrome folk with whom I have had dealings. These guys/gals have one outstanding area of strength while displaying the traits I mentioned in varying degrees. These guys also got nervous or anxious in ‘new’ environments and functioned much better with a routine. Mitt seems to need AnnD by his side to quell his anxieties. I think Mitt might not have been diagnosed because of the cushion his wealth provided, or if he was identified his wealth has kept it under wraps. There you go, that’s Dr. VC’s considered decision on the subject.
I agree with you 100% vcprezofan2. My son is also on the autism spectrum and thankfully his isn’t bad as it could be. I am grateful we got him help right away and so he is learning to work through his deficits. I have seen kids that are highly functional and are just as robotic and have similar behavior as Romney (lacking in expression, is very robotic, is tactlessly blunt, changes his personal ‘truth’ to match the moment, lacks nuance) All that.
You are also on point when you talk about the lack of empathy, kids on the spectrum can usually participate in social groups for years and other programs to help them through all that. The results vary for each child but it makes a difference. I am not sure if his parents got him help or not, but that deficit is apparent.
You are also right when you talk about his anxiety levels in new environments and the need for him to have order and to know what to expect to allow him to prepare before he can perform.
You may not be a doctor but you are exactly right in your assessment. Just my opinion.
his behavior is very like that of a person with a mental health problem, and i’m so glad your family was able to help your son. but i think r’money’s problem stems from being a spoiled rich kid, whose family encouraged him to feel and act superior. making lots of money just added to his sense of entitlement and now the rethugs and rw press are fanning the flames. maybe if he’d had to suffer the consequences of his early antics, he’d have been able to make a shift toward humanity. right now, i think, he’s a fixed personality, and it’s only functional inside his rich bubble.
worst presidential candidate imaginable!!
We also have an Autism Spectrum child (Asberger)! I am completely convinced Myth has a similiar disorder. It is unfortunate that he had a father who gave him all the money he needed to start “his business” but without the requisite social development he needed! Every thought he has comes right out of his mouth! I could not get over how he dissed Ann’s participation in the Olympics, WOW!
Funny, but I don’t recall that the Prime Minister of a foreign country, or the mayor of the largest city (and capital) of that country, etc. were insulted and answered any of the above gaffes in the press, before the citizens of their country (and the world), do you? God only knows what will happen when he gets to Israel. I think any of the above and all of them added together does not equal insulting our mother country, his host right now, and the host to the Olympic Summer Games to the point that several public statements have been issued in answer to his “gaffes.”
Mitt stated his foreign policy in one of the primary debates. He said he would call his “good friend Bibi and ask him what he should do and what he should say.
What dismays me is that 45% of Americans are just fine with this.
There are typos. There are slips of the tongue. Then there’s Mitt insulting the host country, its running of the Olympics, their weather. There’s a campaign operative making racist statements about the sitting POTUS. There’s a staff that STILL doesn’t know that the Soviet Union no longer exists and you don’t blurt away about MI 6.
The “issue” about DVDs is about President Obama’s gift to Gordon Brown….25 DVDs,,,and an Ipad, I think. The press laughed, but those DVDs were movies which Gordon Brown had wanted, and the President knew that. He gave a gift which was useful and enjoyable, instead of another engraved pen or crystal paper weight. The press as a group are ignorant!
I’m enjoying the #RomneyShambles on Twitter – but can somebody explain why it’s a pun? I saw that on some of them and others saying how hilarious that is. What does it mean in subcontext, please? I know it’s about Romney and how his trip is a shambles, but what special British interpretation is there?
If they are referring to his use of the word “backside” it’s a slur, a dirty word. In America we would say, maybe, “from the back porch.” Backside means ass or ‘ harse’ depending on where in the UK you live. It’s never used in a compilmentary tone when it’s intended to be an insult. For example in Jamaica, we add a R to th e ass and that’s a big insult. So Mitt messed up. Poor Mitt or poor Willard.
This is a very informative blog but when you post a very inspiring video and nobody acknowledges it until 15 comments down it’s a jaw dropper. I found this video so inspiring and got me to making a few more calls for Pres Obama. Seems more people are worried about being “first” than actually watching and acknowledging the video.
Sorry….guess all the bullshit coming from the media about Romney’s gaffe being “no big deal” set my hair on fire.
Oh, I loved the video, watched it three times. I even shed a tear because I was hearing impaired as a child and got teased a lot. But people are enjoying Mitt’s visiit to the UK. Forgive them.
That video is very moving. It does indeed underline that President Obama is president of ALL the people. Remember when a girl signed to him from the stands, and he signed back? This is a class ad, with a class man doing it.
I immediately thought of that and the one where the young man at a rally did the same thing and POTUS stopped directly in front of him and signed back.
Hi Kari, actually I viewed it, tweeted it bacause it was wonderful, then saw Bob’s tweet, & I put it out there again. Some of us don’t speak up as much as others….too busy reading all the info. But yes…being FIRST is awsome also.
Hey Kari. I’m glad that you enjoyed Abram’s inspiring video.
Being 1st at TOD is just some of the fun that folks have who have become ‘cyber-friends’ over the time that they’ve spent here. Is it silly? Of course it is. But it’s also a bit of the ‘personality’ of this blog. You are free to scroll down past the fun. Sometimes, being ’1st’ is ‘rewarded’ with a picture of president Obama or FLOTUS. The pictures and videos in this blog are amazing. That’s what it’s known for.
I think I’m more surprised at everyone’s reaction to Mitt fucking on up his first trip overseas, I’m mean really; did anyone expect Mitt not to fuck up?
Certain folks in the media are trying to fluff up Mitt Romney and pretend that his intemperate remarks about the London Olympics are no big deal. But while they are glossing over Mitt Romney’s lack of political acumen, there would be 24X7 coverage if President Obama dropped a COMMA from a speech. Romney steps in it, backtracks like crazy and all is forgiven. No big deal. Nothing to see here folks. Move along. The double standard is breathtaking, but par for the course.
Maybe Mitt should have just stuck to insulting the President, since thinking people aren’t paying attention to his lies anymore. Insulting foreign countries has far-reaching consequences.
I don’t think he’ll get a pass on this one. Chucky boy is mad that he didn’t acknowledge any questions from American press, and you don’t bit Chucky. Also, with social media everywhere, he can’t get by with anything. I bet Lawrence does a number on him tonight! I can just see Lawrence’s big grin while he does it.
You make good points, Ladyhawke. The problem, of course, is that you are still expecting U.S. media, and especially broadcast media, to practice real journalism. My take is: most of the people in the media want to see President Obama defeated; and they are doing everything in their power to help Mitt Romney. I am absolutely convinced that if then Candidate Obama (or even for that matter President Obama) did what Mitt Romney did, all the big guns in the media, plus all the Republican leaders, plus Democratic leaders loved by the media, like Ed Randell, would all be out in force denouncing him. They would all be chiming in in unison that Obama has irreparably damaged relations with the number one ally of the United States. You just don’t go to a country hosting you and publicly criticize its governing institutions. This was not a gaffe! This was an absolute display of arrogance! Essentially Romney was trying to gloat about how well he run the Salt Lake winter olympics, as compared to what’s going in London. He was trying to display his superior skills that qualifies him to be President of the United States. His was aiming his remarks to the U.S. audience. The problem, of course, is that he was so arrogant not consider that he was making those self-serving remarks on British soil. That is why the British Prime Minister and the Mayor of London swiftly and angrily responded. If Romney’s only mistake was forgetting the name of the leader of Britain’s opposition party, then I would say that was an embarrassing though minor transgression. Mitt is about my age, and I can sympathize with him because I have those moments when my mind goes blank; especially when it comes to remembering names.
“Essentially Romney was trying to gloat about how well he run the Salt Lake winter olympics, as compared to what’s going in London. He was trying to display his superior skills that qualifies him to be President of the United States. His was aiming his remarks to the U.S. audience.”
Hi nathkatun, and TOD. Been in lurk mode. This is exactly what I was just telling my son. He wants to be seen as the “expert” in all things Romney, tooting his itty bitty horn. What a toad !! As it stands, I shall never, ever forgive America for the way it has treated its first president of African descent. When America disdains PBO, it disdains me. As someone recently said, 2008 was historic; 2012 is personal.
In Romney’s defense, he is accustomed to dealing with an American press corps so used to his gaffes that he can’t get its attention unless he does something like declare that he’s not concerned about the tens of millions of Americans who, almost by definition, are most in need of concern. But this very hypersensitivity was the premise for Romney’s whole trip to London. The chosen message of the trip was supposed to have been a restoration of the “special relationship,” a goal that nestled comfortably into the general right-wing accusation that Obama spits in the faces of our friends even as he comforts our enemies. Romney’s plans to “abandon Mr Obama’s ‘Left-wing’ coolness towards London” was the theme of a story in the conservative Telegraph, which attracted attention for quoting an anonymous Romney adviser suggesting that Obama didn’t understand the “Anglo-Saxon heritage.”
“The extent of Romney’s buffoonery will be clear this Sunday when Mark Halperin goes on a talk show and declares that this week will be remembered as a very bad week … for Barack Obama.”
very interesting comments here.
one said, this was not a gaffe–myth was making the point that ‘his’ olympics were well-run, and he was willing to intentionally insult his u.k. hosts to draw the u.s. press’ attention to that meme.
Ten Republican-controlled state legislatures have voted to defund Planned Parenthood since the 2010 midterm elections, but the clinics affected by the cuts will not have to shut their doors any time soon. The Obama administration so far has awarded hefty new federal family planning grants to Planned Parenthood clinics in three states that have cut the providers’ funding: New Jersey, Tennessee and North Carolina.
A Planned Parenthood clinic in Durham, N.C., was awarded a $426,000 Title X grant on Wednesday, just weeks after the state legislature overrode Gov. Bev Perdue’s (D) veto and cut $343,000 in state money from the provider’s budget. Anti-abortion lawmakers and advocacy groups are furious that the Department of Health and Human Services seems to have circumvented state legislatures to continue funding an organization they oppose.

As their former PM was reaching out for his own handshake, the police officer was already looking away with a grin and missed it. It looked to be the genuine article who reached out to shake hands, followed by the great pretender who couldn’t quite connect! Kinda like PBO vs. Romney.
no need to run. Found the opportunity to help shape Mitt as not ready for prime time on the national stage and wanted to do my part in helping to cement that perception. Gift horse and all. Figured I would get back to PO tomorrow or later tonight after it was a wrap for Mitt.

President Obama suggested Thursday that he isn’t backing away from talking about gun policy.
“I’m sure we’ll have more opportunity to talk about this,” he said to a reporter’s question after he made brief remarks pressuring the House of Representatives to pass the middle class tax cut extension that cleared the Senate on Wednesday.
The president’s response came to a question about whether last week’s shooting in Aurora, Colo., has prompted him to consider whether new gun control laws are needed if it’s found that everything the shooter did up until the shooting was legal.
Obama spoke about guns and the country’s culture of violence in the speech he gave Wednesday night to the National Urban League’s conference in New Orleans. He discussed wanting to improve enforcement of existing gun laws but didn’t say whether new legislation is necessary.
Earlier Thursday, White House press secretary Jay Carney said the president was focused on gun control measures ”short of legislation.”
Okay heres a couple of laughs for you all today: My 79 year old Obama loving mother called just to tell me “Romney is an Asshole” then informed me that she mailed $25. to our fine President.
And
This is where my brain damage paid off for the DNC today… they called asking for $$$ and I told them I have to save every penny right now to move, but have been donating monthly to OFA and give when I can to the Senate & House. When the caller told me they’d double my donation today, I agree to give $20., then he says: “we’re giving in 12s today.. for 2012- so silly me I add 12.00 & end up donating $32. I only realized an hour later that he wanted $20.12 lol… smart guy, didn’t even correct my mistake
She arrives in London in the evening but her itinerary says it’s closed press so I’m not sure we’ll see photos, depending on how her landing is handled there.
Her first event is tomorrow morning.
Breakfast: 9:00 am BST (4:00 am ET; 1AM Pacific), U.S. Olympic Training Facility, University of East London
Mrs. Obama and the Presidential Delegation will greet members of the 2012 Team USA at an informal breakfast in honor of the Olympians. Mrs. Obama will deliver brief remarks at the event.
They will take very good care of her, I have no doubt. By custom, no one touches Her Majesty the Queen, but not only did our lovely FLOTUS touch her, but hugged her and was hugged in return! I have no doubt she is under full protection by order of HMQEII!
Reading about @MittRomney today in London is great reminder about what a truly unique and accomplished statesman President @BarackObama is— meta (@metaquest) July 26, 2012
Here’s a touching summary of the journey of the Olympic flag – gave me goosebumps. I can’t believe Romney didn’t have enough tact to observe this city’s moment to shine. Thankfully – it seems to have fired them up quite a bit!
USA/Today Gallup polls are all Propaganda.
They have one just released saying only 39% of Democrats want to Vote.
I can tell you, I have made more calls every month, than this pollster did. Everybody is on board and wants to volunteer.
Just look at the Volunteers that Show up at all the Office openings and the Army of daily volunteers.
Thus, I take this particular poll? offensively!
CNN has been pushing that theme all day—–no reg. programming on msnbc so checked CNN, which is terrible. Made it seem like no Dems are going to vote. And an anti-Obama ad is airing there every 15 minutes, appealing to Obama voters about what a disappointment the president has been and it’s ok to vote for the other guy this time.
I am absolutely convinced that the mainstream U.S. media are using every means necessary to make sure President Obama is not re-elected. Thankfully, the mainstream media — though still powerful — are no longer the only source of information. From all the smart people who post on this blog, people like me see no need of depending on the mainstream media for information and political analysis. I also think that social media is doing wonders in undermining the power of mainstream media. I am still technologically challenged, but I truly appreciate the magnificent works of our twitter warriors. such as Bobfr, utaustinliberal, amk, meta, Tally, Liberal Librarian, a4alice and many others.
“The White House rubbed salt in Romney’s wounds by pointing out that President Obama has full confidence in Britain’s ability to provide a secure Olympics. White House Spokesman Jay Carney said, “In keeping with our special relationship, the president also made it clear that he has the utmost confidence in our close friend and ally, the United Kingdom, as they finalize preparations to host the London Olympics.”
it’s so delicious. That was an easy one. It makes me so happy to think of the Administration huddled in the Oval Office this morning, chuckling over Mitt’s misadventures in the UK.
No matter how much corporate media in the US spin this mess, pretend that it was no big deal….the UK press won’t let it go.
It’s not only the comment about the Olympics….the meeting with the head of MI6…..the backside…etc….who knows what the heck he’s going to say next.
Amazing that President Obama was attack constantly back then for his ”lack of experience”….millions of Americans and millions around the world recognized very quickly how gifted he was, how knowledgeable he was, how intelligent, how classy, diplomatic, etc…..
Yea apparently he was very impressed with Romney, anyone who believe a word coming out of that pathological liar has no business reporting anything…..it’s embarrassing.
Jovie you might have said this in jest, but you may be on to something. I remember way back wondering about some of Jack Cafferty’s bizarre behavior. Some of his commentaries were often all over the map.
RWNJ's the best you have is '57 states'? PBO knows how many states in the US. Mitt & his entire team don't know there isn't a Soviet Union.— (@FlowerInFaith) July 26, 2012
This probably wasn’t the warm welcome Mitt Romney was hoping for.
At a boisterous pre-Olympics rally on Thursday, London’s mayor, Boris Johnson, ridiculed the presumptive Republican presidential nominee for his remarks questioning the city’s readiness for the games.
“People are coming from around the world and they’re seeing us,” Johnson told the estimated 60,000-person crowd, who had gathered to mark the end of the Olympic Torch relay. “They are seeing the greatest city in the world!”
He then turned his comments to Romney.
“There are some people who are coming from around the world who don’t yet know about all the preprations we’ve done to get London ready in the last seven years,” he said. “I heard there’s a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we’re ready. Are we ready? Yes we are!”
To top it off, Johnson finished his appearance by leading the crowd in a chant of ‘Yes We Can,’ President Barack Obama’s famous campaign slogan from 2008.
“Can we put on the greatest Olympics games that have ever been held?” he asked. “Can we beat France? Yes we can! Can we beat Australia? Yes we can!”
I don’t understand what he’s saying. Theoretically, the First World is the United States and its NATO allies, the Second World is Russia, China and their communist allies. The Third World are the neutral and non-aligned countries.
That’s the way I was brought up to view the world divisions. I suppose Romney’s formulation is based on which country has the most money. If that’s the case, the United States, even with its current economic problems, is far from ever becoming a so called “second-tier” nation. Besides, although the U.K. is not as wealthy as the U.S., It is till regarded, in economics/technology, as part of the first-tier countries, hence it’s membership in the G8! For a guy who is out to restore “Anglo-Saxon heritage,” Mitt has been very severe in the way he denigrates Great Britain!
Apparently CNN just had a whole segment bashing the President……I can imagine the panic,…..nobody watching them anyway……they’ve been exposed with their affiliation with the Tea Party….their monumental gaffe on the SC ruling was a bonus.
Well Piers has been on all day promoting his Willard interview tonight, saying how impressed he was with Willard accusing Obama of “attacking success”.
Then Wolf interviewed Admiral McRaven and introduced him as the man who made the decision to go after Bin Laden, a sneaky way of trying to take that accomplishment away from President Obama. The admiral put a stop to that before he even finished his distorted intro. The admiral said it wasn’t him who made the decision, it was President Obama who made the decision, he alone. The admiral told about his role, and while trying to remain neutral on the subject of politics, made clear of his admiration for President Obama. I actually saw Wolf swallow in sad response.
Senate advances bill to bolster cybersecurity defenses in 84-11 vote
By Jennifer Martinez and Ramsey Cox
The Senate agreed on Thursday to move forward with Sen. Joe Lieberman’s cybersecurity bill after months of contentious negotiations.
I thought the max donation at a fundraiser was $30,800, and a max of $2500 to an individual federal candidate? How come Romney’s tickets for his shindig are up to $75K? Are they donating via the SuperPACs?
I am more interested in the Muchigan poll that has Robney up 1. These polls in Michigan are razor thin, and unfortunately, this State is a battleground State.
I don’t get it!
“I remember him [Romney] for sure, but I don’t think we had any particular connections, I knew him and he knew me, I suppose.”
~Bibi Netanyahu, July 2012 in Vanity Fair Interview, (middle of Page 4)
But, to hear the pathological liar, Mitt Romney, tell it the two were as thick as thieves (no pun intended) while they both worked at Bain Consulting Group in the 1970s (not to be confused with Bain Capital.)
Romney to the New York Times:
ROMNEY: “We [Mitt & Netanyahu] can almost speak in shorthand. We share common experiences and have a perspective and underpinning which is similar.”
Yep. Mitt’s showin’ Europe he’s a bonafide loser, in the same column W was, and an embarrassment to our country.
Maybe there will be announcement of another military draft here, this time for 60-somethings who were for it (for others) before they were against it (for themselves), and he’ll just stay there.
Why is Mitt in Europe? Hasn’t he been out there on the campaign trail accusing President Obama for espousing European economic values? Why is he is now all of a sudden into Europe? This man. Mitt, is shameless! His supporters should be ashamed of themselves too. Mitt has fooled them not once, or twice, but over and over again– over so many issues.
I’ve been so slammed lately, so I have no idea if this as been already posted a thousand times…. if so, apologies.
I just found an AMAZING blog – it’s about a woman, who was raised in an überChristian home. Kept in the dark through homeschooling, married, had 4 kids, lived in Canada, and eventually discovered she was human. It’s like reading a story of a cult member. Her writing is so compelling. It also makes you realize why the US is so FUCKED UP…. She’s not alone in the brainwashing.
Why do we allow this? It’s a form of slavery for your own children.
It’s the American Christian equivalent of a Madrasa.

Romney `I Built This’ supporter benefits from taxpayer dollars
By Greg Sargent
————————
The Romney campaign held another one of its “I Built This” events yesterday in Florida to draw public attention to Obama’s “didn’t build that” quote. One of the small business owners the Romeny campaign showcased as an example of someone Obama had insulted was an owner of A.D. Morgan, a construction firm.
Michael Van Sickler of the Tampa Bay Times did a little digging, however, and look what he found:
According to its website, A.D. Morgan — a construction firm — has received at least $150 million since 1999 for work on government buildings, prisons, schools and libraries. The figure represents only the total from the fraction of news releases that included a dollar figure. The company lists more than 130 projects that it has completed; nearly all of them are in the public sector.
Hey TOD we have a campaign deadline coming up tonight!
You might be the winner to wish President Obama a Happy Birthday, face to face.
Chip in before midnight, and you’ll be automatically entered for the chance to join President Obama for his birthday celebration—airfare and hotel are on us.

Uh oh….Robme will need to shake that etch-a-skitch or retroactivate the trip he didn’t take to England…..”it was just a dream. He wanted to go to England for the Olympics but he was too busy runing his campaign in America…remember?”
“President Obama sought to pressure congressional Republicans over taxes today, saying they will be held responsible if the middle class gets hit with a big hike in 2013.”

Thanks for sharing this, vcprezofan2. Stephen Colbert is genius! I think the Obama campaign could use some satire and humor to expose Mitt Romney’s idiocy. For example: show Romney attacking Obama out of context while he is agreeing with him when the entire segment of what the President said is not chopped and diced so as to lie to to the American people.
First?
Yes!
Thanks Chips, our haven we love so dearly!
Chips you have been touching my tender spots lately.
This campaign is so amazing, so very inclusive of everyone. I am thankful for Mr. Abram’s brother who took the time to teach him sign language which allowed him to be independently productive in his community. The auto bailed out also saved pensions. WOW.
what a wonderful video! thanks for posting, chips, and thanks to all the wonderful people working to re-elect the president.
I totally second every thing you said, Susanne! Chips is doing a wonderful job and so are all the people working hard to re-elect President Obama. Mr. Powell seems to be such a warm and delightful human being.
Why are there 60,000 people in Hyde Park ?

I love this ad! Once again it highlights that PBO is the president for all Americans. The outreach and the inclusiveness of his campaign and his administration is one of the many reasons that I admire him so much.
Congrats on being first sabreen60.
Chips, that is an exceptional video … maybe even one of these jerks will get it …
Loved that video too Bob, powerful and beautiful.
It is at that…I loved it!
Love the video, too. In DC the school for the deaf is Gallaudet University, As a teen, I had a very good friend who attended and I got the chance to visit the school several times. It was amazing.

Thank goodness for President Obama. I am proud with him in charge.
Just a mention: My son is in that race with his Air Force team from San Antonio!
Ha ha ha, this video is too delicious. Enjoy!
Will the real mitt romney please stand up?? ft eminem lol
Or, will the real mitt romney please stfu?
Link? I must tweet.

Hey is it true that Obama tallked about gun control last night?

Excellent LL, you’re a great librarian
I said the same thing earlier at BJ.
Mitt Romney’s incredible shrinking resume.
yes, now he’s talking about kitkat bars–until he insults them, too.
I too, am behind President Obama. This Sunday is 100 days before the November Presidential Election….IF YOU CAN contact OFA and volunteer…or KEEP TWEETING, Talking to People about what a GREAT JOB PBO IS DOING.
Mitt: My Plan Differs From Bush’s Because … Uh
By Jonathan Chait
——————————————————–

MI-6 – not M1 (that’s a road)
Not common sense for willard. Common sense for mittard is to throw out $10,000 bets, his wife has a couple of cadillacs, lie his ass off about PObama, whine when he’s called on his lies, etc etc etc.
I was at TPM and a wingnut actually posted that the more Mitt insults foreigners, the more support from them he’ll get.
I kid you not.
Methinks them furriners might prefer a leader of the free world who knows the Soviet Union no longer exists.

Thanks 57. I’m an old dog and it takes some time.
Hey if this old dog can figure it out I’m happy to divulge my secrets.
He has no empathy. Has to be a disorder.
sorry–i’m not convinced he has an illness. i think he’s a jerk, and an arrogant, lying, snob.
Maybe Scott Brown can get him an audience with the Queen …since he meets with Royalty all the time.
Willard would pinch the Queen on her butt.
Over at HuffPuff the right is countering this mess with
1. 57 States
2. PBO writing down the wrong year in a book.
3. Something about an ipad and DVD’s
Poor pitiful right wingers, if they weren’t fill with such hate, they would be embarrass by Mitt Romney too.
and one RWNJ on Twitter is all upset over us returning a borrowed bust. It’s funny to see them grasping at straws. Their candidate is a complete fail.
Actually it is still here at the British Embassy…..
Technically, the British Embassy is British soil.
Astonishing.
Well said, 57andfemale!
I found something called Omni-shambles, that must be it. “A prodigiously inept individual, typically involved in the political domain” per http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Omni-shambles
Oh, thanks for that muscat
That should now be changed to Romni-shambles.
I watched it and facebooked it. I saw several links to it on Twitter. So although it wasn’t mentioned until 15 lines down, it did the job.
Love it.
Hi Kari, actually I viewed it, tweeted it bacause it was wonderful, then saw Bob’s tweet, & I put it out there again. Some of us don’t speak up as much as others….too busy reading all the info. But yes…being FIRST is awsome also.
LOL!
This badly? No. Not this badly. And he doesn’t have the cover of the msm to filter over how unfit he is a candidate for POTUS.
that’s key, i think. the british press is not in his pocket, so we’re getting unfiltered ‘facts’ about myth, in a way we don’t usually.
Mayor of city calls out the GOP nominee:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19006480
The mayor said “some guy called Mitt Romney”…..hahahahaha!
And the mayor is a member of the Conservative Party.
Ladyhawke, I agree with what you said.
To think, just this morning the US press was mad at him for snubbing them. Now they are trying to cover for him.
I hope Chucky is really mad, since he’s the one who pops up on the evening news all the time.
Brilliant, Bob!
bingo!
ANOTHER RIGHT WING NARRATIVE GOES UP IN SMOKE
Brits Hit Mitt Etiquette
By Jonathan Chait
——————————–

Great link. Thanks Ladyhawke
This comment after the article was priceless

Where’s the respect? Sooo many issues our President has spoken out on, but with this Boehner/Obstructors….give me a break.
Believe me I was hooting this morning with the rest of you. I looked out on twitter and saw a lot of negative Romney but thought, hmmmm. where’s the positive president? So here’s some tweets for you guys to consider retweeting. That I of course made on my BREAK at work…….(runs)
a4alice – That was one of my favorite handshakes of all time! Thanks for the reminder. Better was what I believe happened next. As their former PM was reaching out for his own handshake, the police officer was already looking away with a grin and missed it. It looked to be the genuine article who reached out to shake hands, followed by the great pretender who couldn’t quite connect! Kinda like PBO vs. Romney.
Great job alice! Retweeted!!
Me too!
no need to run.

But but but Michael Bloomberg said…
Okay heres a couple of laughs for you all today: My 79 year old Obama loving mother called just to tell me “Romney is an Asshole”
then informed me that she mailed $25. to our fine President.
And
This is where my brain damage paid off for the DNC today… they called asking for $$$ and I told them I have to save every penny right now to move, but have been donating monthly to OFA and give when I can to the Senate & House.
I’m getting bored with Mitt – when does FLOTUS arrive for the festivities? That’s what I wanna see!
Good question muscatinegal. When does our FLOTUS arrive?
She arrives in London in the evening but her itinerary says it’s closed press so I’m not sure we’ll see photos, depending on how her landing is handled there.
Her first event is tomorrow morning.
Breakfast: 9:00 am BST (4:00 am ET; 1AM Pacific), U.S. Olympic Training Facility, University of East London
Mrs. Obama and the Presidential Delegation will greet members of the 2012 Team USA at an informal breakfast in honor of the Olympians. Mrs. Obama will deliver brief remarks at the event.
Does anyone know if it will be live streamed anywhere.. no cable here & I so don’t want to miss her, or the opening ceremonies.
Try NBC website!
Here you go:
http://www.nbcolympics.com/liveextra/help/index.html
DAMN! You have to be a cable subscriber. If I had cable, why would I watch it on my laptop? ARGH.
oooh thank you meta & thanks jovie!!
They will take very good care of her, I have no doubt. By custom, no one touches Her Majesty the Queen, but not only did our lovely FLOTUS touch her, but hugged her and was hugged in return! I have no doubt she is under full protection by order of HMQEII!
This enrages be beyond beyond.
Our CIA Director needs to give him a call….
Does it occur to anyone that the only who claims this meeting occured is a serial liar? Just sayin’.
I’m waiting for the Home Office to issue a denial of the meeting.
So true meta.
Here’s a touching summary of the journey of the Olympic flag – gave me goosebumps. I can’t believe Romney didn’t have enough tact to observe this city’s moment to shine. Thankfully – it seems to have fired them up quite a bit!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18996243
PBO’s remarks at Cabinet meeting today.
Unfreakinbelievable and moronic:
MORE stupid things Romney says!
lord have mercy!!!
everybody check this out right now!!
‘bad judgement’ is not even close to the term i’d use. look at the dudley doright manly jaw, the handsome manly figure, the fucking dimples!!!!!
the man is besotted with himself. disgusting.
Creepy.
“The White House rubbed salt in Romney’s wounds by pointing out that President Obama has full confidence in Britain’s ability to provide a secure Olympics. White House Spokesman Jay Carney said, “In keeping with our special relationship, the president also made it clear that he has the utmost confidence in our close friend and ally, the United Kingdom, as they finalize preparations to host the London Olympics.”
http://www.politicususa.com/romney-shambles-britain-proclaims-worse-sarah-palin.html
BAM!!!!!!!
it’s so delicious. That was an easy one. It makes me so happy to think of the Administration huddled in the Oval Office this morning, chuckling over Mitt’s misadventures in the UK.
Yes, theo67. Absolutely delicious!
Do you think 007 cares about Robney?
‘why?’
my guess is: money.
myth’s rich british friends are undoubtedly contributors to the conservative campaigns there.
He has a Softball interview with Piers tonight, to take focus off those remarks.
Gotta love CNN!
Yea apparently he was very impressed with Romney, anyone who believe a word coming out of that pathological liar has no business reporting anything…..it’s embarrassing.
You know, these Men on CNN?
I am pretty sure, that one of these Days they will come out, and divulge that they are all about Willard. Seriously!
I hope President Obama never sits for an interview with this loser!
Carole King supports President Obama
We interrupt this Program to give you a special News bulletin- Jack Cafferty is smoking Crack!
That is all!
Jovie you might have said this in jest, but you may be on to something. I remember way back wondering about some of Jack Cafferty’s bizarre behavior. Some of his commentaries were often all over the map.
Willard will be known as “There is a guy called Mitt Romney” for a long time.
I like the “Tin Man.” It fits him perfectly.
YES! Love it.
I loved the “yes we can”, intentional or not!
so rich–very dry wit.
hello everyone….
what an awesome awesome video….i plan to use this video to help with my Fundraising page…..
and indeed….smartypants’ essay today about the President’s words on healing the heart of our children just filled my own heart up with emotion…
thank you chips for bringing this to us….
Forwarddddddddddddd>>>
Can someone tell me what a second third nation means?…..It’s out on kos, comments Romney made in 2007.
Romney: Don’t let US become a second-tier nation. Like Britain
How many times as he insulted Europe in this campaign only?…..
Bashing him on what ?
I don’t know Linda, I don’t watch TeaNN…I just read it on Twitter, people were complaining………they’re so far to the right now that it’s not surprising.
See? They are something else! Sometimes, even further right than Fox!
Wolf haz a sad?
Senate advances bill to bolster cybersecurity defenses in 84-11 vote
By Jennifer Martinez and Ramsey Cox
The Senate agreed on Thursday to move forward with Sen. Joe Lieberman’s cybersecurity bill after months of contentious negotiations.
–
At least it’s on the Floor!
Good Grief…. I had tweety on for 5 seconds…..
Ed Rendell and that odd Taylor guy….
The American press has hired Joseph Goebels to run the Show.
I thought the max donation at a fundraiser was $30,800, and a max of $2500 to an individual federal candidate? How come Romney’s tickets for his shindig are up to $75K? Are they donating via the SuperPACs?
To all his Committees he is in charge of!
It has to be…..another SuperPac
I am more interested in the Muchigan poll that has Robney up 1. These polls in Michigan are razor thin, and unfortunately, this State is a battleground State.
I don’t get it!
You should not worry about the polls Jovie……
I saw that one pollster was We Ask America ….it’s right wing…..
Jovie they said the same things in 2008. They use polls to keep people from discussing issues and policy.
Some of the polls are put out for the purpose of indoctrinating the voters
There are no limits on bundling campaign contributions.
Netanyahu: Romney Lying About Their Friendship
Bibi Netanyahu told Vanity Fair
We share common experiences and have a perspective and underpinning which is similar.”
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/07/26/1113809/-Netanyahu-Romney-Lying-About-Their-Friendship
Oh Mitt…Bibi’s just not that into you:)
Fail.
Obama/Biden 2012
bloomberg’s not that into myth, either.
“Netanyahu should carefully consider Obama’s many strengths before wishing for a Romney victory. ”
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-07-26/in-israel-iran-conflict-don-t-rely-on-romney.html
But folks, Mitt is in Europe to get his foreign policy bona-fides. How’s that working out for you Willard?
Yep. Mitt’s showin’ Europe he’s a bonafide loser, in the same column W was, and an embarrassment to our country.
Maybe there will be announcement of another military draft here, this time for 60-somethings who were for it (for others) before they were against it (for themselves), and he’ll just stay there.
Ha! That would be too much like justice.

I love this LL. Cheerfully retweeting.
Oh, it’s raining again!Hope it keeps on pouring down! Going back to read your story Tally
More flubs! http://thinkprogress.org/security/2012/07/26/593261/johnson-romney-olympics/
British media has also reacted harshly to Romney. “Mr Romney is credited with rescuing the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, now he’s appeared to question London’s readiness to host a successful olympics,” the BBC’s George Alagiah said, adding “If [Romney is] here to make friends, he’s got a funny way of showing it.”
And this:
The Daily Kos finds Romney in 2007 calling the U.K. a “second tier” nation. Holy crap.
that picture is so awkward I can’t really look at it. embarassing
nospin, makes you wonder what the Prime Minister was lecturing/educating Mitt Romney about. Look at that artificial Mitt smile!

Some of you guys probably didn’t see this Colbert segment… Stephen being successful all on his own without help
http://videocafe.crooksandliars.com/heather/stephen-colbert-makes-mockery-romneys-dece
I saw it last night. HILARIOUS!
