Oh, Mitt: those Romney gaffes in full

Boobs, blunders, clangers – whatever you call them, Romney likes to drop them. And he’s really outdone himself in London

    ———————————————————————-

From criticising the biggest sporting event Britain has held in over 40 years, to “looking out of the backside of 10 Downing Street”, Mitt Romney’s first foreign trip of his presidential candidacy hasn’t gone quite as well as he might have hoped. As the former Massachusetts governor continues to gaffe his way across London, here’s a round-up of Romney’s red-facers. So far.

    Bringing this over:

ESPECIALLY for PA voters…but maybe EVERYONE should check this out just so it WON’T be an issue! Pass this along!

    http://www.balloon-juice.com/2012/07/27/jump-thru-this-hoop/

When states put in a voter ID law in a big hurry, one really common problem voters and poll workers encounter is “address mismatch”. This is where your voter registration address does not match the address on your driver’s license (or other photo ID). People generally don’t update the address on their driver’s license until it’s time to renew the driver’s license, which didn’t matter prior to the voter ID law but does matter now. You must fix this mismatch if you hope to vote a first class ballot in Pennsylvania. If you go to the PA site for voter ID info, you will find this, under “person who has recently moved”:

If you read this link…there are LOTS OF HOOPS to jump through if you’ve recently moved…please know the voting rules and changes for your state! Find out NOW, so you can take care of anything that may be a question.

Additionally, establish a relationship with your county voter registration office, the ID issuing office, and your state rep’s office. The employees in the voter registration office and PennDOT are facing a lot of the same frustrations that we the people are — a new law where they are tweeking the rules daily and NO increase in personnel to handle the increased workload; treating these folks with repect and common courtesy will create allies rather than enemies. If a worker can’t fullly answer your inquiry, ask for the supervisor/manager/director. These things are working for me…

Here’s how Crossroads GPS has spent nearly $86 million in dark money

    Kevin Koehler – July 27, 2012, 9:15 a.m.

    —————————————–

Since the start of this election cycle in 2011, Crossroads GPS has put out dozens of press releases about its ad buys. We have compiled the dollar figures from its website and totaled up $85,683,000 in announced spending so far. Of that, over $64.9 million has gone or will soon go to ads exclusively targeting Barack Obama and more than $13.7 million was directed at Congressional candidates. (For $7 million, the proportions spent were not disclosed.) See the table below to explore the data.

Reveille O Os!!!! Up and at ‘em this great getting up day!!! Well, it looks like Mitttwit the Pitiful has left quite the Saxony stain on the little island that makes stuff nobody wants with his attempt to paint PBO as just another blah person. Couldn’t have happened to a better Anglo. Don’t mess with Karma, she’s a real B when angered.

My political take today is PBO can save some of his arsenal until later in August. Pittiful has sucked up the oxygen on his own for awhile. Then, he has to relive the trip when he comes back. Then he still has those tax returns. That’ll take care of August. By September, he’ll be running from his own shadow.

  16. July 27, 2012 at 10:44 am

I just came across this strange article about how one of the U.S. Olympian female wrestlers actually picked up FLOTUS and they took a photo of it: http://www.press-citizen.com/usatoday/article/56528798?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|NationWorld|s.

I’m not sure how I feel about that – seems pretty strange. It does show that FLOTUS is always a good sport.

    • 49 isonprize
      July 27, 2012 at 11:08 am

I’m sure the rightwing crazies will have something to say about it. You’re right, FLOTUS is a good sport. And the lady wrestler isn’t crazy– she asked permission. Permission was granted and she did her thing. I’m sure if FLOTUS had said no, Lady wrestler would have laughed and still had a moment to remember her entire life.

    • 50 lamh35
      July 27, 2012 at 11:21 am

I read the story and it was very nice what the wrestler said and as Isonprize said RWNJ will say what they want. I say FUCK ‘EM.

You can’t make sense of crazy people, so why live your life is constant worry over what they say (which I’m not saying you are doing, btw)

In fact, it’s because the pic is a cell pick and not a professional pic like from Peter Sousa that it probably looks weird, but I bet at a different official angle it was a nice pic.

    • 51 anniebella
      July 27, 2012 at 12:10 pm

What’s strange about it. We know we have a First Lady who is like no other, she is herself, she is down to earth, she is about fun, being real. No you would not see Laura Bush doing that, but that’s because Laura Bush is not like our FLOTUS. The female wrestle said she didn’t just want a hug, so she asked if she could pick her up, FLOTUS said yes, no big deal. And since when did we care what the right wing have to say? FLOTUS can act like a angel and they still will fine fault. So to hell with what they think.

    • July 27, 2012 at 1:23 pm

I love that she felt comfortable enough to even think about lifting up the First Lady, and that she asked for permission before she tried anything. Sweet story!

Annie Oakley is more prone than the Mittwit to make a gaffe. They should never be interviewed at the same time. Neither knows how to talk off script. She’s worse than him imo. However, they do make for some entertaining kerfunkles (sp).

      • July 27, 2012 at 11:11 am

One of the things that depressed me most about a Dem friend’s recent conversation is that she said she found Ann Romney to be a very strong and charming woman. Oh, and now she thinks Dems lie as much as Republicans. UGH.

        • 68 hopefruit2
          July 27, 2012 at 11:13 am

I would put that friend in the “used to be DEM” category. Just sayin’

No true Democrat talks such nonsense. She probably voted for McCain/Palin in ’08.

        • 69 cookemom
          July 27, 2012 at 11:24 am

Bet her $10,000.00 that she can’t name one thing Annie Oakley has done that makes her strong and charming. Her physical impairment doesn’t count, nor the ability to dressage and dance with a horse whose purpose is another tax sheltered write-off.

          • July 27, 2012 at 12:08 pm

I asked her that and she said that Ann raised 5 children – with lots of help, but still. She’s a worrier and her main gripe is the economy and she’s scared to death about it even though she’s very safe financially. I ended the convo because I was very shocked and taken aback, she’s been a friend for 15 years, I was getting too emotional and I was an overnight guest in her house. I’m fairly certain she’ll still vote for PBO but will see what happens the next time we talk and take it from there.

            • July 27, 2012 at 1:29 pm

You should ask her some specifics. Which lies does she think the Dems have told? Which lies does she think the GOP have told? And then both of you research to find out who’s actually telling the truth. If you have the energy for all that. There are some friends whom I’ve just written off, and left to their delusions. I’d rather focus on those who still have a chance to be moved to reason.

I’m sorry but Rasmussen can’t be correct about Romney’s lead, it’s not matching what the state by state polls are saying at all. If anything the polls should be showing president Obama’s lead by 4 to 5 and that’s being very lenient given that polls can be inaccurate.

She along with Eleanor Roosevelt are the only two FLOTUSes who vested themselves in the interest of the people in the country. They don’t hide behind some tea set with their pinky fingers placed ever so delicately in the air among their well coiffed ladies a calling. Rearranging the furniture in the WH is noble (I guess somebody has to do it). Having reading as an initiative is admirable as well, especially when you do it about once a quarter as a photo-op. I wonder who is the Embarrassment to America now? Yeah, one, Willard Mitterrand Romney.

The question is, had this been then sen Obama in 2008 in this kind of predicament, the press alone would have started asking if the Senator was ready to be president. Why are We Not hearing that question asked of Mitt the Twit?

  47. July 27, 2012 at 12:22 pm

LOL! Fox News is just irate with the British Press. They are losing it with the coverage of Robney, over there!

This is funny as heck. :-)

How bad was Romney’s first day in London?

“It has been widely reported already in the US that Mitt Romney’s first foreign trip as a US Presidential candidate… did not go well.

But my suspicion is that a lot of my friends in America who are accustomed to “he said, she said” news coverage might suspect that this disaster is being blown out of proportion by the schadenfreude of delighted Obama supporters.

As your woman on the ground here in the UK, I want to assure you: IT REALLY IS THAT BAD. Here below are the Romney headlines in every British Newspaper this morning.”

Just had to share this. The following is a letter to the editor in mty loacl paper. This is the entirety of the letter (other than the writer’s name):

“Interesting that the same media that is consumed with Romney and Bain had no interest in Obama and Wright.”

The writer is getting reamed in the comments.

Love you all. Have fun at the opening!

Willard has told a right wing Israeli newspaper, Israel Hayom, that if PBO had followed George W.’s “freedom agenda” the Arab Spring might never have happened. He said the reforms would have been more peaceful under W.’s policies. The interview took place in Reno but was released today, therefore he was not criticizing PBO while abroad. I am speechless.

Mitt Romney: Arab Spring Could’ve Been Avoided By Bush’s ‘Freedom Agenda’

In an interview with the right-wing Israeli daily newspaper Israel Hayom, Mitt Romney said that the Arab Spring might never have happened had Bush’s “freedom agenda” not been prematurely halted by President Barack Obama.

“President [George W.] Bush urged [deposed Egyptian President] Hosni Mubarak to move toward a more democratic posture, but President Obama abandoned the freedom agenda and we are seeing today a whirlwind of tumult in the Middle East in part because these nations did not embrace the reforms that could have changed the course of their history, in a more peaceful manner,” Romney said.

Romney argued that with the rise of democratically elected Islamist governments in some of the countries undergoing revolutions — Egypt and Tunisia in particular — the Arab Spring has turned out to be less of a boon for Western interests than it initially appeared.

“Clearly we’re disappointed in seeing Tunisia and Morocco elect Islamist governments. We’re very concerned in seeing the new leader in Egypt as an Islamist leader. It is our hope to move these nations toward a more modern view of the world and to not present a threat to their neighbors and to the other nations of the world,” he said.

“Clearly we’re disappointed in seeing Tunisia and Morocco elect Islamist governments. We’re very concerned in seeing the new leader in Egypt as an Islamist leader. It is our hope to move these nations toward a more modern view of the world …”.

What disgusting comments about Islam. Democracy is only good when it elects the guys you like, hey Willard? Bigoted twat.

It shows that he really doesn’t care about people, just “Western interests.” The Arab Spring is a bad thing? People, on their own, overthrowing dictators is a bad thing? I guess he wanted a bunch of Christian leaders in Arab countries. While the Ann Coulters of the world may agree, responsible people can see how bad this thinking is.

PBO has gone a long way towards having America more respected in the ME. There is still a long way to go, but talk like this can set us bad. I guess he forgot all the US flags being waved in Libya.

This guy is more than an embarrassment, he is becoming dangerous to our national security.

        • July 27, 2012 at 1:08 pm

I agree Japa, this guy is hugely dangerous, I used to laugh at him but not so much anymore. That kind of inflammatory language is extraordinary, all in the interests of gaining a few hardline Jewish votes – never mind the wider cost.

Um, excuse me… that’s “Mitt the Twit”.

      • July 27, 2012 at 1:47 pm

Indeed – why wouldn’t an Islamic nation elect an Islamic leader? It’s the height of arrogance to think anything else about someone else’s country, especially all the while the GOP proclaim the United States to be a “Christian Nation”, when that just isn’t true.

If I get this right, since he didn’t do this interview on foreign soil, it’s ok?….but it’s publish today?…so he’s getting his message across just the same…I read the article and I can’t believe how dangerous and ignorant he is…he doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about….neocon on steroids…..

    • July 27, 2012 at 1:45 pm

One of the most significant wins for PBO this week in addition to the total implosion of Willard in his clown trip abroad is the announcement from the President of the European Central Bank that the Euro will be supported at all cost. That means stabilization of European and World economy and support for continued growth in U.S. economy. The Dow has skyrocketed on expected economic gains long term.
