President Obama has selected Colin Powell to lead a presidential delegation to Jamaica to attend a celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence.
Powell, who served as secretary of state during the Bush administration, is the child of Jamaican immigrants. He endorsed Obama in 2008 but has yet to support him in 2012. He said in May that he has known Mitt Romney “for many years, good man.”

In this election season, the Democrats have become something they haven’t been in decades: disciplined. Harry Reid does nothing without careful thought. His bringing up the idea that Romney didn’t pay taxes for ten years wasn’t done cavalierly. Barack Obama, obviously, does nothing without careful consideration. You have to be pretty talented to defeat both Hillary Clinton and John McCain, all while being black. His campaign’s attacks have unfolded methodically, at times of his choosing, dealing the most severe blows. The pundits and Democratic “insiders” like James Carville may whine; but they do so because they’re no longer insiders. This is Obama’s show now, and he gets to choose the cast. And the show’s synopsis is neutering the GOP for a generation.
I have no doubt about it. Yes, money is important and keeps thousands of advertising people in their jobs but it is not everything. The crowds are a BIG clue. PBO draws huge, ecstatic crowds. Mittens makes very, very few public appearances — or at least appearances that aren’t heavily scripted. So far, PBO’s people are running a campaign that will be studied in future poly sci classes. The timing is exquisite. The announcing of the keynote speaker at the DNC, just when Mittens was making teeny-tiny appeals to hispanics. I look forward to whatever they still have up their sleeves.

Just saw on twitter that President Obama and I are exactly alike. We both worked at Dairy Queen in high school! Footlongs and hot fudge sundaes were big at my Queen. My daughter was at the campaign in Orlando today. This event was scheduled prior to the Colorado shooting which was cancelled. She was waited a little over three hours before she got in. While waiting she kept texting me.
She had a wonderful time and was close enough to see the President and take pictures. Unfortunately she did not get a chance to shake his hand as everyone wanted to.
About the baby above, she said she saw this baby being passed overhead and people was actually lifting the baby toward the President. The parents were two to three feet behind her and they were shouting “pass the baby to the President” . . . it was hilarious.
She said the President is very handsome and that smile really is addictive!

President Obama has selected Colin Powell to lead a presidential delegation to Jamaica to attend a celebration marking the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence.
Powell, who served as secretary of state during the Bush administration, is the child of Jamaican immigrants. He endorsed Obama in 2008 but has yet to support him in 2012. He said in May that he has known Mitt Romney “for many years, good man.”
Other members named to the delegation to Jamaica are Pamela Bridgewater, U.S. ambassador to Jamaica; and Rep. Yvette D. Clarke, (D-N.Y.). The anniversary celebration will be held in Kingston on Monday.

I have no doubt about it. Yes, money is important and keeps thousands of advertising people in their jobs but it is not everything. The crowds are a BIG clue. PBO draws huge, ecstatic crowds. Mittens makes very, very few public appearances — or at least appearances that aren’t heavily scripted. So far, PBO’s people are running a campaign that will be studied in future poly sci classes. The timing is exquisite. The announcing of the keynote speaker at the DNC, just when Mittens was making teeny-tiny appeals to hispanics. I look forward to whatever they still have up their sleeves.

My daughter was at the campaign in Orlando today. This event was scheduled prior to the Colorado shooting which was cancelled. She was waited a little over three hours before she got in. While waiting she kept texting me.
She had a wonderful time and was close enough to see the President and take pictures. Unfortunately she did not get a chance to shake his hand as everyone wanted to.
About the baby above, she said she saw this baby being passed overhead and people was actually lifting the baby toward the President. The parents were two to three feet behind her and they were shouting “pass the baby to the President” . . . it was hilarious.
She said the President is very handsome and that smile really is addictive!

I know, and I see a few fellow TODObots who need to come on over at least to silver, then all of us on to Gold! But I just read through the official rules, and am kinda sad, coz I don’t have Twitter and it says PBO will send out 3 Tweets to 3 people on Twitter… Then it goes on to say how the final winners will be picked, and notified. But I read it all 2x, and still don’t see what the prize is! Am I just too tired or something? (I don’t really care, actually, what the prize is, but it would be cool to have my image used in the campaign if they want!)
I think the prize is a signed tweet from PBO! LOLz.

So, how fun! OFA just launched a medal placing for FR pages, and I am delighted to see TOD (YOU CHIPSTICKS) is leading by a wide margin with 29 gold, not far behind her is our own DD4O, with 17 gold… Very proud to say, I have placed (lower) in silver, with 4 donations, but we all know that will change, right?! I only need three more to get into the Gold Medal winners column! Anyone like to give me a hand up!? WooHoo!

Now Sam stein of HP, and Anderson Cooper are all super outraged that Reid could make a wild accusation without first proving anything….Sam Stein that has pushed so many nasty and false rumors about our President from “unnamed sources” or “anonymous WH officials” in the course of the last 3 years…now he’s so concerned about Reid’s statement?
What’s so wild about the accusation? It’s perfectly credible! The fact that they’d rather shoot the messenger speaks to their own crass commitments.
