@MarkKnoller Bravo to #PresObama for defending tax breaks to 97 % of US Job Creators from Congressional GOP efforts to raise their taxes.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) August 03, 2012
Hope all of you are enjoying the day. It’s a special one for sure as demonstrated by our President. He knows just how strong and cogent his message of support for the middle class is and that message now contains undeniable evidence that he, not the GOP, is the champion of tax breaks for the middle class and for the vast majority of businesses that are essential to sustain our economy.
Just love ‘taking it’ to folk like Knoller, Halperin, Crowley, Blitzer, etc And, we sure have ample stuff to counter all their deception and outright lying on behalf #BainMitt and their corporate bosses.

h/t to Steve Benen ..President Obama appeared via video to the BlogHer Conference yesterday and spoke at some length about his commitment to women’s health. His remarks caused a bit of a stir on the right, but they really shouldn’t have.
Awesome. I guess the stir that was created on the right was from the realization that their candidate could never have spoken so eloquently and passionately directly to the women of BlogHer. Unfortunately for the right, President Obama has a solid record of accomplishments that benefit all women. President Obama has a story to tell. All Mitt has is “Romneyspeak” aka gibberish.
Thanks to you who responded to my Romney campaign mail inquiry. I decided to fill out the survey with my snarky comments and send it back postage not paid. Good Suggestions!
OG, as mentioned in the other thread, I always strip away any contact info, and drop their stuff in the mail if they provide return postage because it’s a two-fer – the USPS gets the $ and #BainMitt gets the bill.
I know, because they are OUR guys, and we know they are so well trained. I cannot help but think of those people who are in a war zone, on hearing those jets would have an utterly different and terrifying meaning.
It should be obvious to everyone now that #BainMitt is in a lose, lose situation – those tax returns must be so toxic that he knows if they are released his finished. And, if he doesn’t release them, he’s going to lose and lose big time
Just love bringing this fact to various #NEWSTAINERS …
@CrowleyCNN It's obviously Lose, Lose for career campaigner #BainMitt. If he had nothing to hide his tax returns would already be public.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) August 03, 2012
Oh, remember well, and we gave them a very hard time, via Twitter, for their lameness! The Obama Team know precisely what they are doing and when to do it.
And, that # is not going to improve when those folk either see his tax returns or, the more likely situation, he continues to refuse to release them and everyone realizes he’s definitely got something to hide

Randi is so spot on…she says whenever you come across a RWNJ that goes on and on about PBO, just say…very positively…”What are you going to do when he wins, because he WILL win?” Watch their head’s explode because they don’t know what to say to that….and she says, they always like a winner….you can’t fight the hate and ignorance..don’t even try.
df, this is exactly what I do, 100 % of the time. Never argue with them. Just state, nonchalantly, ‘suggest you begin planning on how to make the best of it, because he will be President four more years.’
Mitt spouts out these erroneous statements all the time. For a person who got an MBA and a law degree from Harvard, Romney comes across as a very ignorant person. I suppose Romney does not include the period between 1929 and 1940′s as part of American history. I am sure Romney knows better. But he is so cynical that he thinks he can fool and lie to the American people because they are too dumb.
The six members of the Walton family featured on Forbes’ list of the 400 wealthiest Americans have a combined net worth today of $102.7 billion—more than the bottom 40 percent of American families combined.
Wrap your head around that. This is only ONE of those family’s…..
That’s mind blowing. What gets me, is the fact that people like; Mitt, the Waltons, the Kochs, etc….feel that they don’t have enough, these SOBs want more.
DF, remember “you people” that is the world they want us in. Like Mitt saying to Leader Reid,”Harry, put up or shut up.” That is how they think. It is sad to see and hear because it is a ‘play’ on putting people down. Those actions, to me are very ugly.
That is why I love POB and VP Biden. They are with all of us, not matter where we hail from in this country.HZ

Mitt Romney Must Be Losing Sleep Over These 7 Charts
By Joe Weisenthal
————————————
A few weeks ago, it definitely looked like the wheels could come off. And they still might. But a host of charts suggest that that’s not what’s going on right now. The US macro situation appears to be stabilizing, and some signals actually look good.
Let’s quickly go to the charts.
First is today’s jobs report. The monthly gain was clearly the best in several months. Sure it wasn’t great, but the best in 4 months is a nice turnaround and a relief for The President.
- CHARTS -
There’s still plenty of time left in the election, but at the moment, the data is not going in Mitt Romney’s direction.
Brace yourselves for openly racist ads against President Obama. Just saw one on Little Green Footballs accusing Obama of racism.
Keep fighting for President Obama and opposing the lies. The only way Romney can win is to scam people into voting for him, suppress Democratic voters, and hope the economy tanks. It won’t be as easy as the 2008, but YES WE CAN!
The racist accusations are by a superPAC ironically named “fightbigotry.com” and which accuses the president of “tacitly defending Black racism” whatever the hell that is. Of course, Rev Wright, Black Panthers, Skip Gates, and Eric Holder are heavily featured on their website as all perpetrators of the “Black racism” that PBO so “tacitly defends.”
This is VILE, and if Mitt Romney has to rely on explicitly racist superPACs for winning him votes, then he’s already lost the election.
saw that!!! said the private Willard is more personable than he’s shown to the public! what an ass! can’t believe he still has a job. dirty scum bucket!
Romney’s not running for “private office”. He’s running for “public office”. We want someone who is what he appears to be – in public and in private. With President Obama, you get what you see!
@Markhalperin – You say willard is more personable in private than in public. But he isn't running for a 'private' office, you douchebag.— (@amk4obama) August 04, 2012
Well said, theo67. If Romney wanted to preserve his privacy he should not have ran for president. By the way, these business people who clamor for privacy are total hypocrites. They are the first to invade people’s privacy. Last year, I took my niece around to look for an apartment. The property owner who finally rented her an apartment had to do a credit check on her, as I am sure happens to all the people who rent or try to buy property. initially, she had a problem because she had no credit history. She had never applied for credit cards or took out a loan. I had to co-sign for her because she had no credit history. I also understand that there are many employers who now require credit checks for all their new hires–something that never happened to me when I got a job, almost forty years ago.
As far as I am concerned, Romney is applying for a job as President; the American people, who have to hire him, deserve to know if he has been an upstanding citizens who honestly paid his taxes without trying to game the system. President Obama and Vice President Biden have both released 12 years of their Tax returns. Why doesn’t Romney do the same? If we had a legitimate media, they would be forcefully asking Mitt Romney to release twelve years of tax returns.
There is no law that says that a prospective renters must submit to a credit check before the landlord rents them an apartment. Yet if you want to rent an Apt. you go ahead and agree to the credit check. Likewise, job seekers have no choice but to submit to credit checks if they hope to get a job. The least Romney could do is release his tax tax returns for 12 years, just as the President and the VP have done.
Could you believe that swill??? Unbelievable. So according to gasbag Mark Halperin Romney’s been dinged up pretty good but if he nails his VP pick and has a good convention he can win. What utter bullshale. And could you believe the clip of Romney standing in front of a sign that said “For A Stronger Middle Class”. Ha! Don’t make me laugh. I have never seen such phoniness. Romney is shameless. He doesn’t give a rats arse about the middle class. The only reason he is even mentioning the middle class is because he knows that President Obama never fails to mention the middle class in any speech he gives. Romney is just doing what he always does – following and copying everything that President Obama does.
My favorite part,: “if he harnesses a convention speech like 1988 H.W. Bush, had a VP pick like Gore 2000″……and…. what was that third one?……..um…… I think it was showing some personality or something…… I stopped listening after I realized his mouth was moving. I kept waiting for him to call WIllard a dick….. but unsurprisingly, that bit of truth didn’t materialize.
Hi TOD… Went to a meeting two nights ago that was put on by OFA and the DNC combined.
What was so thrilling was just seeing all the people attending. The room was packed. We were
there for a kick-off rally for both OFA/DNC in my neck of the woods in New Jersey.
I know if you listen to the news media you would think hardly anyone is supporting our Prez. WRONG!
Big enthusiastic crowd all fired up. After a period of socializing, there were speakers from both organizations
as well as local politicians all giving rallying talks and a roadmap for what we will be doing in our county.
Keep the faith, the grassroots is alive and well. Will be going for phonebanking tomorrow which is one
of the things I love to do. This is in honor of PBO’s birthday. Hope we all can find an event to honor
our Prez. Forward!.
Hi Hope44, where in New Jersey do you live? I live near Cherry Hill and we have a large group, Sj Citizens for Change/OFA, there.
They’re having a phone bank there calling PA tomorrow. I will be going with some others from there to Media, PA to help with canvassing. Thanks for phonebanking. That’s what I usually do. I also joined the National Team where you can make calls from home.
I hope to make calls tomorrow evening and Sunday.
Alycee, if you see this, I hope I will see you there! Were supposed to get there by 10:00.
Did @MittRomney pay his fair share for our military, our veterans, our roads & bridges? There’s only one way to know. #taxreturns— Barbara Boxer (@BarbaraBoxer) August 03, 2012
I love my feisty Senator, Barbara Boxer. She is one of the most fearless members of Congress. Along with Nancy Pelosi, Pat Murray, and Harry Reid, she always has the President’s back.
so according to that Slate article posted by Hopefruit, Willard is deciding to reprise his title of Gov of the Great State of Mass. Yeah, Mittipoo. Come on! remind everyone that you used to be gov of Mass. the only good thing you did there was Romneycare, father of ObamaCare and according to T-Paw: ObamneyCare. Otherwise, you kept raising taxes– pardon me, you increased fines– and took Mass from 35th in job creation to 47th out of 50. Yeah, boy!! Yeah! Let’s talk about you being gov of Mass!!!! I’m giggling with glee!!! Thanks, HF!!!!!!!
of course!!!! especially when they’re on their way up to The Big House…. and I don’t mean the big White one. I’m talking about the ones with armed guards, snarling dogs and the words ‘maximum security’ slapped on the front door.
Yeah – good luck with that. I heard Paul Begala speak about Mitt’s time as Mass Gov – particularly as it pertained to education and the case he made against Mitt in just a couple of minutes on Bill Maher (from memory) was so damning. He exposed Romney for the greedy, selfish, entitled creep he is. I bet they have PLENTY of dark stuff on Romney despite the fact that he ran off with the hard drives…
So, in addition to the corruption of destroying his records as Governor (does he expect us to just take his word for everything?), we can also hammer him on his failure to include cost-cutting measures in RomneyCare – and leaving Gov Deval Patrick to clean up that mess.
Yo @MittRomney suggest you not mention your MA Gov stint – especially since you destroyed all the records as well as the State's economy.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) August 04, 2012
Here is a problem for Mitt Romney if he tries to run on his his record as Governor of Massachusetts: If he was such a great Governor how come the vast majority of the people in Massachusetts, from the opinion polls, say that they are not voting for him? It seems to me that the voters in Massachusetts are sending a powerful message to the rest of the country: We know Mitt Romney and we urge you to to vote against him.
Four years ago, the people of Illinois, where President Obama served 8 years in the State Senate, and 4 years as U.S. Senator from IL, sent a different message to the country: they said vote YES for Senator Obama. The 2012 presidential elections is quite interesting because we have two candidates who can legitimately claim two home states. For Mitt Romney he can claim Michigan (where he was born) and Massachusetts (where he held public office). I suppose Romney might also claim Utah as his his spiritual home state. In the case of President Obama, he can claim Hawaii (where he was born) and Illinois (where he held public office before he was elected President). As it stands today, Mitt Romney is likely to loose two of his home states (Massachusetts and Michigan) while President is going to win both of his home states (Illinois and Hawaii). If the people who know you and have seen you up close are not going to vote for you that should send a powerful message to the people in other states who don’t know you that well.
I know I heard somewhere that Mitt did not run for a second term cuz he knew he couldn’t win. There must be poll results out there somewhere of his approval ratings at the end of his governorship?
This was in my email from Barbara Boxer…good questions:)
The burden is on presidential candidate Mitt Romney to end his secrecy and release his tax returns.
The American people deserve to know if Mitt Romney paid his fair share to help the country that gave him so much — including the opportunity for enormous wealth.
Did he pay his fair share to support our military? Did he pay his fair share for our veterans, roads, and bridges? Or did he ship his money overseas to avoid taxes along with the American jobs he shipped overseas?
There is only one way to know. Mitt Romney should release his tax returns.
Dessertflower, that’s exactly how his tax avidance should be framed – bravo! People have to think of him not supporting the military, veterans, roads, bridges etc – all the things that the ‘little people’ pay to help keep the country going. He doesn’t think he should fully contribute but thinks it’s ‘his turn’ to lead the country. PBO has opened his taxes to Republican scrutiny – I don’t see him shaking in his boots about what the “republicans’ are doing with his records!
Especially with all the talk about “you didn’t build that”, with no regard at all for the common good. These people on the right have absolutely no idea what their government really is, and what it does for them. That stupid argument is just that – stupid. And lazy.
Mr. Obama’s probability of winning the Electoral College increased slightly on the economic news, to 71.1 percent from 70.2 percent. [...]
Meanwhile, the comparatively encouraging economic reports of the past week make it less likely that there is another shoe to drop on Mr. Obama in the form of a further economic downturn.
Van Jones on the Ed show polluting the airways. saying that PBO has one guy in his administration who won’t let Freddie and Mannie solve the housing crisis(which they apparently are desperate to do, they’re begging PBO to let them solve the housing problems– so says Van Ass) Apparently, if PBO would only fire this guy, everything would be alright!! Housing would be booming and the economy would be fantastic!!!! You hear that PBO? Van Jones Asshat extraordinaire says that all you have to do to solve the economy is fire that guy in your administration. What a fucking idiot. Emo-freak.
I can’t stand him. I seriously can’t stand the guy – he’s like a fucking seesaw
I think the only way he knows to get some type of attention is to criticize something the president has done/does.
you are so right! seriously he went from all positive PBO to PBO needs to fire this guy because he’s getting in the way of Freddie and Fannie’s desperate desire to fix the housing crisis. he’s a total ass. we know who writes his pay check. he’s so transparent.
That man is named DeMarco and is an appointee of GWB, and there is something strange about his appointment that makes it nearly impossible for the president to get rid of him. I just remember reading something about that in the last couple of weeks. Sorry, no link, no reference.
I’ve read that too…I think he refuses to step aside..he IS toxic…on that, I have to agree with Van Jones. He is standing in the way of helping so many homeowners…like he WANTS them to fail and lose their homes…I’ll see if I can find the article
Jones didn’t say that. He didn’t go into details, just said that PBO needs to fire him, implying that PBO just wont fire the guy, not that there is some trickery going on that makes it impossible to get rid of the guy. That’s why I can’t stand emoprogs, they oversimplify things and when that doesn’t work, they obfuscate. Thanks for clarifying.
it’s that Michael Eric Dyson guy. at least with Ed if he doesn’t agree with you he’ll shout you down. Instead, MED just let’s them steam roll him. He’s all vocabulary, little common sense.
We are having HORRIBLE fires around Oklahoma City today. Our temp hit 113, tied the record from August 1936. Three towns are in terrible trouble. We are so dry, and so hot, and grass and cedar trees are just tinder for the fire. So many homes have already been lost. It’s terribly sad.
desertflower, I wish these people would wake up to those facts. Our governor who HATES the feds, will be the first to declare us a disaster area and call for fed help. They always do this…..they don’t want to be part of the health care exchange, and help our citizens, but they operate on this disaster to disaster mentality. Always call on the feds, then slap them.
They will never put any blame on our absolutely stupid congressional delegation. Of course Inhofe is a big climate change denier too, and all Coburn wants to do is cut funds for everything. My own Representative is a bible thumper who is so in thrall to the tea party he is absolutely no good. His only job before this was manager of a church camp in the Arbuckle mountains (hills). He is totally useless, but sounds like a preacher when he talks, so people fall all over him.
And she was at Romney’s event yesterday crowing about how Oklahoma is 4th in the nation in exports. Didn’t give President Obama any credit for all the hard work his administration has done to improve the picture for exports. Or for increasing oil production which is likely a source for the exports.
In other words, they take more from the Feds than the state pays in taxes. I feel your pain…I live in AZ. I don’t think I really need to explain anymore:)
Rachel is doing a kick ass job on Romney and his tax issues tonight…and his lies….this would be awesome to post when she has it up….he’s doing the exact same thing he did in MA 10 years ago….
We are so on the same page. I totally agree this segment was kick ass awesome. This is what “real” journalism looks like. I have to believe that the OFA folks watched this segment with a big smile on their faces. It was brutal.
We think alike a LOT of times! This segment should have been required viewing for everyone…especially those other folks that like to call themselves journalists, and don’t even come close
I don’t have cable. What exactly did Rachel expose about Romney’s taxes! I also don’t have the latest adobe flash player so I can’t even watch it on my computer.
For those of you who tweet, maybe you outta tweet Anderson Cooper to watch Rachel Maddow’s opening segments this week. She has detailed brilliantly THE LIES Willard told during the 2002 Governor’s race and that this TAX ISSUE isn’t new for him.
Rachel Maddow shows how it’s done. Maybe Anderson Cooper can take notes and learn something. He should feel ashamed watching this segment on Mitt Romney’s tax returns.
I hope you guys were listening to Rachel Maddow talking about Mitt Romney and his refusing to release his tax returns. This guy is one lying bastard, and the Republicans deserve Mitt.
Yes, I was riveted. And not only did she raise serious questions about Romney’s credibility, she also called out the MSM (including Jon Stewart) for going along with his bullshit. Yes, this “Romney Tax” episode of Rachel Maddow is required viewing for ANYONE who plans to vote in this election. I hope Chips can post the video when it becomes available.
Rachel Maddow is at it again. She is doing some serious reporting tonight. She is pulling back the curtain on Mitt Romney and his tax returns problem. At the same time, she is making her colleagues in the mainstream media look like gossip columnists at a coffee klatch. She is making some very good points that the feckless media stenographers just couldn’t imagine on their own.
1) Mitt Romney made the same kind of allegations (that Harry Reid is making about him) about Shannon O’Brien when he was running for governor. He demanded her husbands tax returns. He said her hands were not clear. He asked what is she hiding. He also demanded that Senator Kennedy provide his tax returns and said he would not release his until Senator Kennedy released his.
2) Mitt values his privacy so he refuses to provide more than one year tax returns so far. He makes statements about what is in the undisclosed tax returns as if that should be sufficient. He pretends there is detailed information about his finances on his website, but that’s poppycock. The American people are just supposed to believe what he says. We all know that Mitt Romney is a pathological liar so there is no reason to believe anything he says about anything.
Watching Willard (sort of and silently) while waiting for Michelle. His gestures and facial expressions are absolutely ridiculous. He needs to sit down with someone who knows something about this to straighten him out. But he is probably not teachable.
He’s not teachable. The naturalness President Obama has cannot be taught. It comes from the inside. If you have it on the inside, it can be refined and made more expressive. But Myth just doesn’t have the wherewithall inside. He will always look ridiculous and awkward.
Let people see him for what he is…..he is an awkward Nixon!
Remember that drama coach from “Inside the Actor’s Studio” recorded an tutorial for Mitt, telling him he is not human enough in his actions, and that his eyes look dead. Here you go:
How can someone so smart in some areas of creativity and talented be suck A FUCKING IDIOT?
I’m pretty sure he endorsed PObama the last time. Yeah, Clint, let’s have a SOCIOPATHIC, PATHOLOGICAL LIAR WHO’S A FUCKING DUMBSHIT FOR OUR PREZ. YA THINK?
Yes, but so is Bob Weinstein, Steve Speilberg, Jeffery Katzenberg, George Soros, Jim Sinegal, etc, etc..
Here’s a Forbes article on Billionaire Bundlers for PObama!.. Meet this cutie!..
” Marc Benioff, billionaire CEO of tech giant Salesforce.com, has been fighting for Obama since the second the president kicked off his 2012 re-election bid. In April 2011, he hosted a fundraising dinner at his San Francisco home. Guests paid up to $35,800 per plate, $5000 of which went directly to Obama’s campaign and the rest to the Democratic National Committee. To date, the web entrepreneur — worth $2 billion per Forbes’ most recent estimate – has raised over $500,000 from his network of friends, acquaintances and colleagues. Benioff, his wife Lynne and his mother Joelle have each given the maximum two $2,500 donations to Obama’s”
Funny since the Super Bowl halftime commercial featured Clint Eastwood I would have thought he was an Obama supporter. The car commercial almost thanked PBO for saving them.
Yeah, it is! As the Negative talk should have Spiked after willard’s London trip. Except Clint Eastwood was so Impressed he endorsed the Twit. Poor Eastwood..what a dumb move to mess with your legacy like that.
df, I know you are embarrassed about AZ politicians. You must know I feel the same about TN. I knew when Rachel teased that story about crazy Democrats, it would be about TN. I knew nothing about this Mark Clayton. Never heard his name until this morning when I heard he won the Dem primary. Remember how we all raved about Park Overall’s speech and how we felt she could beat Corker. Never saw or heard ONE ad for her. Went to her website–it was dinky……nothing really on it. I will write-in her name when I vote and will have my daughter do the same. Will also tell my friends to do that. figure it helps send a message, if nothing else.
Good! And yes…AZ politicians are worse than awful. They are the scourge of humankind…in fact, I’m not even sure they’re human at all…humans have feelings and higher level thinking
tnmtngirl, I wondered about Park. She seemed serious. The video that I saw of her, she was a dynamic speaker. Did she just not campaign at all? I live nowhere Tennesee, but I liked her. She could have gotten some ‘out of state’ support. Or did she just do it for ‘something to do’?

The odds of Republicans keeping the House are getting even better, Speaker John Boehner told reporters Thursday. [...]
“Our members have made a real difference in changing the direction of the country in creating jobs and fixing our economy,” Boehner said.
The fact that Speaker In Name Only John Boehner can make such a statement is an indictment of the media. He is not being held accountable for such outlandish statements. Anyone hearing that statement should crack up laughing hysterically. The media continues to treat the GOP as if they are a credible opposition party. That could not be further from the truth. I would submit that John Boehner is exhibit A. He morally bankrupt and a total disgrace. He has done a whole lot of nothing for two years. The fact that this man is in a leadership position is horrifying. The American people deserve better.
really–i was drinking wine, and that is no fun up the nose!
but truly, this statement of boner’s is preposterous. he says this stuff with a straight face, when even fucks news reports the congress did nothing but name post offices.

why couldn’t reid just ask?? the robme camp never answers questions! ever! ‘we’ll get back to you’ is their most forthcoming response. and it isn’t rank speculation if he knows what he’s talking about. it’s a leak, people, and it’s just the beginning.
Hopefruit2, you are incredible! I am very proud of you for busting Jonathan Alter’s bubble from which he pretends to be a detached journalist. Although he accepted the point you made he is still the one who is “Dumb de dumb dum.” and not Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Since Alter pretends to be a journalist he should have dug deep about what Senator Reid said before disrespecting him. It’s quite obvious to me that Alter is one of Mitt Romney’s water carrier. He has lost all semblance of objectivity.
ROMNEY’S TAX POLICY IS “MATHEMATICALLY IMPOSSIBLE”
Romney Tax Plan on Table. Debt Collapses Table.
By Ezra Klein
—————————–
I can describe Mitt Romney’s tax policy promises in two words: mathematically impossible.
Those aren’t my words. They’re the words of the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, which has conducted the most comprehensive analysis to date of Romney’s tax plan and which bent over backward to make his promises add up. They’re perhaps the two most important words that have been written during this U.S. presidential election.
.
.
This is not a surprise. Even some Republican policy experts admit in private that Romney’s promises simply don’t add up. To twist Abraham Lincoln’s famous formulation, the Romney campaign has decided it’s better to remain silent and be thought evasive than to reveal your plan and remove all doubt that you’re cutting taxes on the rich while increasing the deficit, raising taxes on the middle class and cutting programs for the poor.
Unfortunately for the Romney campaign, the Tax Policy Center’s analysis has removed all doubt. Romney needs to come up with a way to make his promises mathematically possible — and quick.
Pssst @Reince your boy #BainMitt is going to do enormous down-ticket damage, besides losing big time. Just thought you should know, we know— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) August 04, 2012

@maddow For #BainMitt to obtain a security clearance shouldn't his tax records be investigated? We already know he perjured himself in MA.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) August 04, 2012
@SenatorReid For #BainMitt to obtain security clearance shouldn't his tax records be investigated? We already know he perjured himself in MA— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) August 04, 2012
Borowitz is hilarious! Poor Mitt Romney. Satirists and Comedians are having such a good time at his expense. I wonder how Mitt Romney is going to be able to form a coalition that includes a porn Star, a drug addict, a deranged rock and roll has been, and members o fFocus on the Family?
I don’t know if anyone is still here…all you’re all tucked in…but I think that the “Bain investor” that Reid talked about…could be McCain. They have been in the Senate together for eons. In 2008, after McCain lost…and picked SP…it wouldn’t be a stretch to see the two of them just shooting the breeze and have that come out in private conversation…I have no idea, I’m just saying it’s not all that far fetched. Reid said that we would all understand that who his source was would have had this credible info. We wouldn’t all know some rich Joe Moneybags and deem him as a credible source…but we all know that McCain saw his taxes and picked the moron from the tundra. I really don’t care what McCain says in public now about choosing SP over Romney..it’s for show. It’s fake. I don’t think I’m far off the mark….and Mrs McCain has the kind of money that would qualify them to use Bain investment services…Budweiser has done well for her.
Still here, Df! It’s not yet bed time in Southern California. Your speculation about McCain makes a great deal of sense! Otherwise, why is McCain so quiet? He is the only one who looked at Mitt Romney’s 23 years tax returns. Why isn’t he out there defending the Republican nominee. All he has to say is that he looked at Romney’s 23 years tax returns and that it’s absolutely untrue to say that Romney did not pay taxes for ten years. Why is McCain silent? McCain and his inner team are the only people, (besides the Romneys and their accountants) who know exactly what Romney may be hiding in his tax returns.
Hi there, nathkatun:) McCain is very quiet…he spoke to Piers Morgan, but was just putting on a show, saying what the Republican line is…no straying off the reservation with his message..perfect little RW robot. Just a hunch..but some good investigative journo should start here….just sayin’
You are absolutely right, df! The media have totally failed this country. A smart and dedicated investigative journalist would have, by now , shed light on Mitt’s taxes. What we have is a bunch of lazy journalists who engage in trivia, or take delight in amplifying GOP talking points to attack the President.
berry intervesting….and mccain might be trying to get mitt out while they can still salvage some downticket races. they must be horrified seeing how poorly mittbot is doing even with the media in full prop-up mode for mittbot. seems like this reid thing happened right after mittbot’s disaster of a foreign trip. maybe that was last straw for mccain? good sluething, df!
Well, it’s more like deducing…I really didn’t hunt around. I just think about this stuff until it begins to make sense to me.This makes perfect sense. And by the way…this is McCain’s last term as Senator…he’s retiring after this term runs out. No strings attached.
“and mccain might be trying to get mitt out while they can still salvage some down ticket races” …. one suspects lots of folk are focused on just that issue.
As tweeted to @Reince earlier this evening, just to let him know, we know …

“What the hell President has ever had to wind down 2 wars fought simultaneously? Has that EVER happened?”
I know of no other President in American history, desertflower! Yet no one ever gives President Obama credit for the way he is responsibly ending two wars he didn’t start. Add to that the fact that ending these wars means the end of billions of tax payers money spent on these wars. What annoys me the most is utter failure of the MSM to challenge Republicans about the billions (actually trillions now) spent on these wars that contributed to the ballooning of deficits that they entirely blame on President Obama.
I’ve said it before, but I will say it again, President Obama has ran the most responsible and the most competent government in my life time. Despite Mitt Romney’s ignorance, It took FDR three terms (more than 12 years), and the massive government spending for mobilization to fight World War II, to finally break the grip of the Depression and end high unemployment. FDR presided over 25% unemployment, but no body blamed him for it because every one knew he inherited it from Herbert Hoover. Somehow the high unemployment President Obama inherited from the Bush economic policies is entirely blamed on him.
I guess Truman? You could make the claim the war in Europe was altogether different from the war in the Pacific, even though they were blanketed under a ‘World War’.
The touting of Tim Pawlenty as potential running-mate for Mitt Romney has reignited questions over his refusal as governor of Minnesota to release tax returns during a scandal over payments from a company owned by a close political ally.
Democrats have been digging into a web of allegations from nine years ago which involved Pawlenty’s use of a shell corporation to shield $60,000 in payments from a telecommunications group during his election campaign that were not declared to the state’s campaign finance board. The money came from a firm run by a prominent Republican strategist. Pawlenty had until recently been a board member.
This isn’t even the HALF of it!! Pawlenty won’t stand the test. He’s out. My prediction. too much trash and questionable baggage as you will see if you read this link
desertflower, you are amazing! How are you able to read all these incredibly valuable sources that you share with us everyday? It’s ironic that the article about the shady deals by Tim Pawlenty are covered by the U.K. Guardian and not by any of our mainstream media. I think you are right that Pawlenty won’t be the VP. Besides the “questionable baggage” I don’t see what he brings to Romney. I don’t even think he can help Romney win Minnesota.
How do you know when Mitt is lying? He's holding a microphone, standing behind a podium, and/ or there's a camera present. @maddow— Goldie Taylor (@goldietaylor) August 04, 2012
RT @DavidShuster: . @jonkarl I'm going on @CNN this morning to discuss your inaccurate reporting on Benghazi emails. Still no apology from… 25 minutes ago

Sheesh! I’m walking to the nearest pub which is usually outside of the main gate.

Aye,aye!
Do my eyes deceive me?
Could BobFR possibly be first?
Congrats!
Just love ‘taking it’ to folk like Knoller, Halperin, Crowley, Blitzer, etc
And, we sure have ample stuff to counter all their deception and outright lying on behalf #BainMitt and their corporate bosses.
Bravo for first place – with a cogent message, no less!
Thank you, theo! We try
Here’s something fresh off the ‘wire’ (21st Century style)
Thanks for the updates, Bob. It’s hard to find objective news on these developments.

OOPS Congrats Bobfr on 1st
I was talking to myself again…………………..:) Not good…I don’t need to feel crazy…….
h/t to Steve Benen ..President Obama appeared via video to the BlogHer Conference yesterday and spoke at some length about his commitment to women’s health. His remarks caused a bit of a stir on the right, but they really shouldn’t have.
This is actually a MUST SEE:)
Thanks DF. It was great.
Good job, OG:)
I’m curious as to how so many of us who are LOYAL Obamabots got on the Rethug mailing list! However, they will hear the truth from us.
They purchase mailing lists based on all kinds of parameters so it’s not unusual to receive junk mail from them.
I got the Romney mails too. About thrice now. In my fury I threw them in the recycling bin. don’t wanna even open to look at them
OG, as mentioned in the other thread, I always strip away any contact info, and drop their stuff in the mail if they provide return postage because it’s a two-fer – the USPS gets the $ and #BainMitt gets the bill.
I do the same. Plus it’s fun to share my thoughts with them.
Love it when the Blue Angels set off all the car alarms in the neighborhood, when they fly over!
Used to live in Coronado, CA…I loved when those jets shook my house….strange, but I felt safe
LA Times headline “In northern Ohio, Obama ads effectively define Romney”
Remember when Cory Booker, Bill Clinton Ed Rendell, Howard Feinman, and lots of “liberal” pols and pundits said that going after Bain was a bad idea?
Couldn’t figure out how it was a losing proposition then, and now it looks like maybe Axelrod and Plouffe know what they’re doing!
Go Team. Obama-Biden 2012.
Oh, remember well, and we gave them a very hard time, via Twitter, for their lameness! The Obama Team know precisely what they are doing and when to do it.
Further evidence of how badly #BainMitt sucks …
And, that # is not going to improve when those folk either see his tax returns or, the more likely situation, he continues to refuse to release them and everyone realizes he’s definitely got something to hide

Miss Chips, please delete my posts above…done in error.
Wow! I hope he gets to come home real soon!

Some guy just called in and said that he always asks them “What was so awful about your life under President Clinton?” That shuts them up, too:)
WTH? Did wacky Mitt Romney just say that the UE rate has stayed at 8% longer that it ever has in American history?
If he did, and he’s delusional enough to do so, #truthteam2012 will have an ad mocking him ready to go in the next few hours
Despite the 1930s, I wonder what the UE rate was during the Civil War and WWI!
I don’t know about anyone here but that Erin person gets my side eyed. She doesn’t make me feel warm and fuzzy. Anybody correct me?
Erin who?
The talking head on CNN in the 2nd video.
Erin Burnett, I agree completely.

She did “Squawk on the Street” with Mark Haines, who is dead now.
I can’t stand her…although I found Mark Haines very engaging. and animated in the morning:) I had forgotten that he died…to young.
He was one of the few good guys on CNBC.
Thanks Bill. At least I’m not alone.
I completely agree Yardarm – she’s … icky and … smug
CNN has not been able to fill that time slot with anyone of substance. She’s uptight or appears so.
Yeah. CNN has a lot of dead weight and ballast.
STUNNING income inequality. http://www.truthdig.com/eartotheground/item/walmart_heirs_own_more_wealth_than_bottom_40_percent_of_americans_20120803/
They want to control the entire world….we are just the pawns in their game

——————————————
http://www.businessinsider.com/charts-that-should-terrify-mitt-romney-2012-8
These people are desperate.
Racist vile pigslop wallowing in their racism.
Perfectly stated.
But Ed Rendell, Moanin’ Joke, Halperin, all told me that the ads were not working.
Cory Booker must be Extremely Nauseous by now. Poor thing.
Cory who? ……..
I’m with you on this Lisa…Cory who? Just because our godd President can forgive does not mean I will.
AMEN!!! I don’t forgive or forget, especially when it comes to turncoat, lilly livered, yellow bellied Democrats.
And there is Halperin, pinch hitting for his BFF Willard again.
saw that!!! said the private Willard is more personable than he’s shown to the public! what an ass! can’t believe he still has a job. dirty scum bucket!
Romney’s not running for “private office”. He’s running for “public office”. We want someone who is what he appears to be – in public and in private. With President Obama, you get what you see!
THIS!!!!!
Romney should be a private person in his own quiet room.
Amk…I copied and retweeted your message but put a “period” in front of dick’s name so everyone can see it…
Hi Sankofa. Long time, no see. How are you?
Excellent, amk – thanks for tweeting this out! **Team Obama**
Big Question for Dick…Does Romney Lie in Private?
His refusal is like shining a spotlight on those tax returns. Now we have to know what could be worth this much pain!
I kept waiting for him to call WIllard a dick….. but unsurprisingly, that bit of truth didn’t materialize.
i think the third one is, ‘and if the fix we did on the voting machines doesn’t get noticed…’
Bringing over from last thread.
Hope we all can find an event to honor
our Prez. Forward!.
Bless you for loving phone-banking!
I’ll see you there!
Great!
I’m looking forward to seeing you again.
Loved this! Posted below…didn’t see this dotster:)
I love my feisty Senator, Barbara Boxer. She is one of the most fearless members of Congress. Along with Nancy Pelosi, Pat Murray, and Harry Reid, she always has the President’s back.
Tomorrow our President will be 51 years old. I’m early, but Happy Birthday to President Barack Obama.
51 and still sex on a stick! More men should be so lucky!!!
so according to that Slate article posted by Hopefruit, Willard is deciding to reprise his title of Gov of the Great State of Mass.
Thanks, HF!!!!!!!
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/frame_game/2012/08/romney_s_accountability_scorecard_bain_s_ceo_becomes_governor_of_massachusetts_again_.html
Don’t forget…his records of his Gov. years were destroyed too! Do most governors destroy their records?
of course!!!! especially when they’re on their way up to The Big House…. and I don’t mean the big White one.
Please let him be that stupid ….
And don’t forget r’money’s vaca states — California and New Hampshire. Dude is set to loose 4 of his 5 “home states”
MITT RELEASE YOUR TAX RETURNS!!!!!!!!!!

He is standing in the way of helping so many homeowners…like he WANTS them to fail and lose their homes…I’ll see if I can find the article
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/03/opinion/krugman-debt-depression-demarco.html. Here’s the link. Read it this morning. By Krugman. He does talk about this DeMarco guy, how he is a holdover, how Congress won’t confirm his replacement, etc.
That’s not the one…I’ve read this, but there was one that I read with more explanation WHY DeMarco wouldn’t leave his post…
Why does Ed let these types on his show? What is the purpose? Like Cory…Ed who?
it’s that Michael Eric Dyson guy. at least with Ed if he doesn’t agree with you he’ll shout you down. Instead, MED just let’s them steam roll him. He’s all vocabulary, little common sense.
OMFG. EVERYONE MUST SEE THIS VIDEO:
That’s been around for a little bit…maybe a month ago someone posted this here….still important and needs to make the rounds, for sure!
gah! Apparently I’ve been living under a bigger rock than I thought.
And the Congress wanted to go home and not address the drought issues in the states. I hope that OK knows this….just sayin’
Stay safe!
desertflower, I wish these people would wake up to those facts.
Ok falls into this : http://forums.contracostatimes.com/topic/most-red-states-take-more-federal-money-than-they-pay
http://www.economist.com/comment/1324975
In other words, they take more from the Feds than the state pays in taxes. I feel your pain…I live in AZ. I don’t think I really need to explain anymore:)
Michelle Obama on C-Span One at 9:50 ET. Not sure what event it will be.
First Lady Michelle Obama Speaks to Manchester Grassroots Supporters – on Thursday, August 2.
She’s on c-Span1 right now and kicking some serious butt. Go FLOTUS .
Can definitely see why people keep pushing the Michelle Obama 2016 stuff. She’s a fire cracker and she’s totally IN!!
Rough and tuff and can’t be bluffed!
Rachel going in on Romney’s lies again. Should be required watching for every American.
Willard is a piece of work. He has lied about everything. He’s a con artist and a conniver and may be the biggest political liar of all time.
Rachel is doing a kick ass job on Romney and his tax issues tonight…and his lies….this would be awesome to post when she has it up….he’s doing the exact same thing he did in MA 10 years ago….
DF,
We are so on the same page. I totally agree this segment was kick ass awesome. This is what “real” journalism looks like. I have to believe that the OFA folks watched this segment with a big smile on their faces. It was brutal.
I don’t tweet, but I just sent A Cooper a email.
Rachel Maddow shows how it’s done. Maybe Anderson Cooper can take notes and learn something. He should feel ashamed watching this segment on Mitt Romney’s tax returns.
She is simply the best. But isn’t Cooper go up against her show? Or is that the Brit? Either way, they all could learn something from Rachel.
Bravo to Rachel for doing her job.
stew-rat was sucking up to mittbot again ?
Yes he was. And I’m glad Rachel singled his ass out.
This is the way journalism used to be done.
May be Stewart has off-shore accounts in Swiss banks and the Cayman Islands.
RACHEL MADDOW’S OPENING SEGMENT S/B REQUIRED VIEWING FOR THE MSM
===================================================================

Good Evening TOD
Thank you Jacqueline for keeping the Fundraising Challenge alive today
7 days down and 93 to go!!
Looking good!
Wow, Rachel Maddow really did it again. Willard needs professional help for his lying.
Rachel was awesome in her reporting tonight on Willard M. Romney. It is a must see.HZ

twitter sez that clint eastwood endorsed mittbot. Is it true ?
I wouldn’t be surprised.
Yep.
Guess once a rethug, always a rethug. Wish fucking dems were loyal like them.
YA THINK?
i think clint is very rich…..

Poor Clint Eastwood…exposing that his greed is more powerful than his brain.
Another snippet on that page.. “These Americans Have Made The Most Billions Under Obama” And then it show their pics and their story.
No, Clint Eastwood endorsed John Mcain last time around so no loss here…
And having seen previews of his wife and daughters reality show, I have even less faith in Clint Eastwood’s judgement…
Funny since the Super Bowl halftime commercial featured Clint Eastwood I would have thought he was an Obama supporter. The car commercial almost thanked PBO for saving them.
This is interesting…………..http://nationaljournal.com/conversation-nation
Yeah, it is! As the Negative talk should have Spiked after willard’s London trip. Except Clint Eastwood was so Impressed he endorsed the Twit. Poor Eastwood..what a dumb move to mess with your legacy like that.
Fedex-Murray & Serene-Shrapova olympic finals.
Two of my favs in finals.
Go USA. Go USA. I guess that mean go Serena.
df, I know you are embarrassed about AZ politicians.
It’s really a shame what has happened to politicians in AZ! I long for the days of congressman Mo Udall!
tnmtngirl, I wondered about Park. She seemed serious. The video that I saw of her, she was a dynamic speaker. Did she just not campaign at all? I live nowhere Tennesee, but I liked her. She could have gotten some ‘out of state’ support. Or did she just do it for ‘something to do’?
See link I posted down thread. I didn’t know anything about her illness until I read this article few minutes ago.

Friday Night Funnies!
Let’s just say Happy Birthday to President Obama:) We love you, Mr President! Celebrate and do whatever brings happiness to your heart and a smile to your lips.
I heard that Stevie Wonder and his wife are getting a divorce, sorry to hear that.
yeah, I think they’ve been separated for awhile now, since 2009. I’m sorry to hear that also.
Guess who it is ?
It may be his personal opinion but perhaps he also sees the women’s vote as important in November – I am cynical about anything any right wing politician says in regard’s to women’s rights.
Just so these tools know we know …
This is an unconscionable move by Romney. He should leave the troops out of his lies.
I see an Amazingly Good Ad in this! Take it to the Troops..ask them if they’re being “Restricted” like the gop is trying to do in PA, FL, and anywhere else there’s a GOP gov?
Or are the Troops off limits so willard TELLS BIG WHOPPING UGLY LIES ABOUT THEIR ABILITY TO VOTE?
Put your food and drinks down************** I want no choking, snorting, gasping…or peeing when you laugh! HAHAHAHA
Heeeeeerrrrrrrreeeeee’sssssss BONER!
Thanks for the warning! LOL!
really–i was drinking wine, and that is no fun up the nose!
but truly, this statement of boner’s is preposterous. he says this stuff with a straight face, when even fucks news reports the congress did nothing but name post offices.
They are insane.
boner’s a FUCKing BALD FACED LIAR. IS THERE NO PUNISHMENT FOR TELLING LIES THAT EVERYONE KNOWS ARE LIES? US CORPORATEMEDIAWHORE$$…DO YOUR JOB, RFs.
I see a beautiful AD in there.. having boner Lying on one side of the screen and the FACTS that Include all the Job Measures from PObama that they’ve Blocked on the other SIDE OF THE SCREEN.
http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2012/jun/19/chattano-illness-stalls-senate-bid-of-park-overall/?print. Just found this article. Also, the chair of Knox County Dems just shared a story on FB about her and nearly all the commenters are saying they will write-in her name. All encouraging her to file as a write-in.
Forget Harry Reid, the question is What is Mitt Romney hiding in his tax returns?
Bob…ask Alter to check out Rachel Maddow’s show tonight..must see for any so called journalist.
I think there are alot of so call journalists who need to watch tonight Rachel Maddow show.
It’s ashame what the MSM have allow Mitt Romney to get away with.
why couldn’t reid just ask?? the robme camp never answers questions! ever! ‘we’ll get back to you’ is their most forthcoming response. and it isn’t rank speculation if he knows what he’s talking about. it’s a leak, people, and it’s just the beginning.
If Alter calls it “dumb” ..it must be the opposite of dumb. As in REALLY SMART.
Well done hf. Beautiful jujitsu.
I regret buying his book. A lot of unworthy people have made money off President Obama’s very worthy life.
Romney needs to come up with a way to make his promises mathematically possible — and quick.

i donated to your campaign, pamela, and thanks for all you do for your president and our country!
aloha oe~
Done!
Oooooh, That’s cold!!
And, delicious
Thanks Bobfr for making me laugh with this tweet from Wolfrum.
Mitt fit right in with the sex, drugs, and rock and roll gang. Sex, drugs, rock ‘n roll and liar.
I absolutely love this tweet, Bobfr! William K. Wolfrum has an exquisitely devilish sense of humor!
incredibly lame, and also disgusting.
Hilarious borowitz piece.
http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/borowitzreport/2012/08/jenna-jameson-clarifies-her-endorsement-of-romney.html?mbid=social_retweet
If you’re on Eastern time, it’s officially President Obama’s birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our dear President!!!
Happy Birthday President Obama. Thank you for all you’ve done and continue to do for our great nation. God Bless you.
Good analysis – I hadn’t thought of that option. You could be right!
berry intervesting….and mccain might be trying to get mitt out while they can still salvage some downticket races. they must be horrified seeing how poorly mittbot is doing even with the media in full prop-up mode for mittbot. seems like this reid thing happened right after mittbot’s disaster of a foreign trip. maybe that was last straw for mccain? good sluething, df!
As tweeted to @Reince earlier this evening, just to let him know, we know …
It’s past midnight on the east coast, so Happy Birthday, Mr. President! Four more years will not be enough!!
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/04/world/asia/in-afghanistan-us-packs-war-gear-for-the-movers.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all
Yes. War #2 on the way to being done. What the hell President has ever had to wind down 2 wars fought simultaneously? Has that EVER happened?
Here, here!
I guess Truman? You could make the claim the war in Europe was altogether different from the war in the Pacific, even though they were blanketed under a ‘World War’.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2012/aug/03/tim-pawlenty-tax-vice-presidential
The GreedyOPs are all so damn Greedy.
Yes…:) Some things never change. Since they have ALWAYS been that way, you’d think more people would have a clue by now:)
I have to go to sleep…up early for voter registration in the morning…..duty calls!
Thanks for what you’re doing there in AZ, ,DF! Have a great registration drive on POBAMA’S BIRTHDAY!
desertflower, you are amazing!
A very happy birthday, President Obama. The world loves you.
VERY RETWEETABLE FACT! THX MELANIE~
Morning everyone:
