Hope everyone’s doing well? Haven’t been able to be around today, but life should get back to normal soon! Chat away
@maddow When will US corporate media & their #NEWSTAINER minions inform all Americans that .@MittRomney is a proven pathological liar?— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) August 04, 2012
Bob..see the post @ #9
Check that! # 10!!!
Made sure this turkey gets the message …
@Reince We cannot risk Our Security to a pathological liar. Is #Mitt Compromised? NO security clearance until IRS audits his returns.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) August 05, 2012
And, tweeted to the other folk who will be on the Sunday morning, ever smaller viewership, yak yak shows …
Congratulations Bob and PFWHI on #1
There you are, CC! Finished your PBO Birthday celebrations? Did you happen to save a slice of cake for each of us?
Remember the last time you mentioned ‘cake’ …
Chips has been so busy I’m sure SHE has forgotten.
Now, you’re just taunting her and you know it, vc
Yes, but sssh.
Wow! So Ryan Lochte poses with his “USA Flag” grill after winning his Gold (he even wanted to wear it on the damn podium) and the announcers and sports people just thought that was soo cute.
But Serena Williams does a little 20sec dance (yeah it was the “crip walk” but who the hell really knew that) and all of a sudden ….scandal!!!
Hmm wonder what makes Serena’s lil celebration different?
I could care less who those people are and what they think. Bunch of racists. I don’t know their names, and I don’t want to.
Right On theo67
I wonder what the comments would have been if she had done a few steps of an Irish jig? Just sayin’.
My President looks happy and excited as he boards Marine 1 en route to Camp David…
Well, you can imagine all the women in his life were waiting with a nice celebration for him when he arrived, hf!!
Well, in the pic above it looks like he’s thinking of one in particular…
I was actually thinking he looked sexay. Love him in a polo shirt and khakis.
He could make a paperbag look sexy.
Remember way back when he was interviewed in a black turtleneck? Too cool. I think that’s the inner BO.
Gotta photo? Oh, sorry, down girl.
Hot weather hormones, eh?
More like two nights in a row breakin’ out the white wine! But thanks for askin’. And glad to see nobody’s trying to be blog police tonight, Mr. Yardarm.
Check him out in jeans and black turtleneck!
Starts at about the 6:56 minute mark.
And again at 9:22 minutes.
meta – What a beautiful video! Thanks so much for sharing the ol’ ’07 memories. And boy did he look young, then! He’s aged just a little bit.
I always knew I loved you, meta!
Talk about HOT. That whole video was too much!!
yes, and I loved it. Then I got caught up in just watching the interview and listening to this man who is so REAL, and was reminded, as I am virtually every day that I see or hear him act as my President, why we believed in him and why we elected him, and why we love him. I pray fervently for him, his safety, and his happiness and our country in his benevolent care, and for Michelle, and his whole family.
What an elegant and fitting prayer. I, too, got caught up in watching the whole video and it reminded me so much of those days, all those days, when we fought so hard for his improbable victory, each week breathing a sigh of relief and hope. He is the same man with the same consistent values, but much wiser now, more determined and always circumspect. Love him dearly.
Really, a paperbag. I think I’ll ask Michelle.
It’s starting to sound like ‘naughty mat’ time ’round here.
wimmin, huh, ya ?
Et tu, amk? (Sorry – I slip into Latin when I’m having the wine.)
Hot to trot with no place to race!
Hop aboard! Unless you truly do want to be blog police, then nobody will invite you aboard. That’s just the way it is, Sailor (I hear).
Mind yer helm Missy. You might wind up getting dunked a time or two in some North Atlantic sea water.
How do you say double-dog-dare-you, maritimely? ‘Cause I’m thinkin’ you and amk need to see some flags waving at YOU. You know, before the great dunking of 2012.
Will save my comment for a later date. :-p
Brought this over. MUST READ AND PASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great Read!! http://www.thepragmaticpundit.com/2012/05/i-didnt-vote-for-obama-in-2008-but-ill.html

Chips…somehow you should highlight this…really, really wonderful post of reasons why they will be voting for this President in 2012
************************************************************** Add to blogroll?????
Just one example:
1. I’ll vote for Obama because I like the idea that Wall Street has soured on the president. It tells me they didn’t get from him what they wanted and more importantly, because they’re withholding their support, he won’t be obligated to them. Besides, I have a problem with a group of grown men who have the nerve to feel sensitive after nearly toppling the entire economy.
Like the corporations that park their profits (profits they earned in America, from Americans) offshore because they want to be unregulated and untaxed, they’re holding the nation hostage. I’ll vote for Obama because I don’t want to pay the ransom.
From: CNN Money
Companies seek tax break for overseas profits
The tax holiday would lower the corporate tax rate to 5.25% for big companies such as the bill’s proponents — including Google, Oracle and Cisco — if they move their overseas profits to the United States.
Note: Generally, the U.S. corporate tax rate stands at 35%. I challenge anyone to name a corporation that pays 35% after all the tax cuts, tax credits, loopholes, deductions and subsidies. Costs are rising to do offshore business. Corporations are people…let them behave like all other American people and pay their taxes!
If you believe Obama’s policies are crippling, how do you account for the fact that the stock market is at an all-time high and corporations are enjoying greater profits than in decades?
@truthteam2012 "I’ll vote for Obama because I don’t want to pay the ransom." Good tag line for your next vid tinyurl.com/8bcgqfp— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) August 05, 2012
more in my TL ….
Thanks df that was a good read…..many very good reasons to vote for this president. I just came from the Pasadena DEM HQ grand opening. It was very festive and there were lots of Obama Birthday bashes throughout the area today.
You’re welcome:) Great site…and one that I will refer back to
Just read both of them and posted one on FB.
Once again, desertflower, I want to thank you for the amazing research you do to bring us important information. This article, which has a clip of Rachel Maddow, is really a must read. I’ve bookmarked it to share it with some of the holier than thou progressives who are always telling me how President Obama has disappointed them. Again, thank you so much for the wonderful job you are doing to keep the TOD family well informed,
My pleasure:) We’re all in this together!
@MittRomney took the profits he made in America – from Americans – offshore so he wouldn't have to pay the taxes that make our nation great.— meta (@metaquest) August 05, 2012
Oh goodie. It was getting hard to view the posts. Thanks Chips.
@KrystalBall1 Canadians are not brainwashed by the GOP propaganda machine that exists in our media. They're better informed than us.— (@aspirational12) August 05, 2012
And have a law that their media CAN NOT LIE TO THE CITIZENS!!
funny how refusing fucks news a broadcasting license creates a more informed public.
Not just Canada. The whole freaking world thinks the part of America who support Romney and want to replace the superior Pres. Obama who has multiple legislative historical accomplishments with a subpar asshole who lies every friggin time are nuts.
You could have added so much more to that second sentence, UT, but I don’t blame ya for stoppin’. We don’t want to be gagging about Romney anymore than necessary.
Krystal Ball it’s not just the people of Canada who feels that way.
Our election cycle doesn’t really start until the election is called and lasts only six weeks. Politicians have a very short period of time to make their case to the Canadian people. It feels like Pres Obama has been in campaign mode since he was elected.
BTW, among the few in the ‘media’ who have a clue what is happening in Syria, and happen to have their butt on the line informing us, is Ms Jenan Moussa ….
Syrians I spoke to here in #Syria all believe regime will fall. All argue about timing. Question is when it falls, not if it falls. @akhbar— Jenan Moussa (@jenanmoussa) August 04, 2012
… whom at the moment may be a bit to close to the reality of war … for those of you who pray, please keep her in your thoughts.
People like she is…are the hero journos….to put their own lives on the line to get the truth out…no words. Be safe.
This is a real journalist.
df, theo – yes she is the real deal, and, at the moment in a ‘place’ you’d not ever want to find yourself ….
Amen to that. She is a brave warrior for the truth. I commend her for doing this difficult job in a dangerous situation. I pray for her safety
@jenanmoussa Lots of folk thinking of you and hoping you are safe.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) August 05, 2012
ugh “too” not “to” ^^^
but, you get the drift, I’m sure … thank you
What a handsome 51 year old President.
Mark Knoller is jealous of that aspect, and many, many other things about our President.
Have you ever seen a man look so damn good in a pair of sunglasses?
And we know df wasn’t talkin’ about Knoller!
No, jac…I WASN’T talking about Knoller!! You’re right about that:) he should WEAR a paper bag!
As the Pres winds down his special day I’m sharing the original wishes I sent him. We can all reread Kipling’s poem and be reminded how closely the author described PBO years before his birth.
@BarackObama: Every time I think of 'If' by Rudyard Kipling I think of you. HAVE A WONDERFUL 51st BIRTH YEAR! We LOVE U kipling.org.uk/poems_if.htm— Vick C. (@sonamie) August 04, 2012
And my son, but, anyway, I agree with you and will RT that!
‘And my son’ – Niiiice! You are undoubtedly proud of him. I’m of the opinion that men of this calibre are in short supply, so it’s nice to hear that rare doesn’t mean extinct.
Well, I’m a mom! And I’ll tell my son what you wrote!
Gives me the chills every time I read it.
I know the feeling WoS. So much of Kipling’s imagery seem expressly to describe the path PBO is walking. I can’t stop reiterating the fact that ‘we got lucky’.
Evening all!! I’ve spent today, recharging, relaxing, and watching TV while I twitter.
I’m so sick of idiots out there! Why people are so stupid to believe anything on FoxNews is really incomprehensible for me. And I’m sick of RWNJs saying that they’re not against President Obama out of Racism, when CLEARLY they are big fat racists! Ugh!!!
pinkbunny92, I agree with you 100%.
Oh so TWEETABLE! http://www.thepragmaticpundit.com/2012/05/democrats-v-republicans-debt-and.html
Chips:) This is an AWESOME site……
By the way. for those of you who don’t know yet, I am an Aunt!
Wonder if my sister will let me borrow her baby? I'm pretty sure I can get photo w/ #PresObama! He's so good w/babies! http://t.co/7SuvXjVE— PB for Obama 2012 (@pinkbunny70) August 04, 2012
congrats, pb! what a cutie!
I feel even more so the need to fight hard for her future!!!
So alert! So beautiful!!!
She’s adorable! What a cutie pie.
Awww, how precious! Congrats, pinkbunny! (from a fellow auntie ;-))
What a cute lil’ angel!
Wow, what a beauty!! Congrats to your family.
Alright, I’ma seriously need to get me a pair of those neon NIKES that the USA Track & Field athletes are wearing. Maybe they will motivate me…naw nevermind. I do like ‘em though…lol
USA Team Track and Field Neon NIKES
Let’s go Sanya Richards-Ross!
Hell no. Those neon Nikes are atrocious. Whoever came up with the design needs to be fired, rehired, and fired again. They’re an eyesore.
Wow, I guess you don’t like ‘em, UT? I must say, there a wee bit bright for my tastes…
The milk carton I would like to see http://t.co/Jripayo2— Gary Hussein York (@GareBearEsq) August 05, 2012
That’s a good one!
Yesterday at the library I noticed a book Twisted Truths of Modern Dressage by Philippe Karl. His states that modern training methods are ruining horses and many of the training methods are barbaric. I noticed a article not long ago about Ann Romney selling a dressage horse for $125,000. After it was purchased the new owners found it couldn’t perform. A vet said the horse was completely shot up with pain killers. They brought a lawsuit and it was settled out of court. The trainer for that horse is the same one that is riding the Romney horse in the Olympics. When asked about how the Olympic showing of her horse, Ann said, “He didn’t disappoint”. Who talks like that in the USA? Selling a ruined horse, doping it, and passing it off as sound indicates a total lack of ethics.
Yes. Obviously ethics isn’t their strong suit
One of the experts in the lawsuit said it was the worst case of fraud he’d ever seen.
Love this! For those people who are against same sex marriage because the Bible says so… http://t.co/rjq8VI4Q— Eileen (@taboo1099) August 05, 2012
This is excellent. Let’s see those bigoted “family values” hypocrites defend this!
Thanks for sharing this, UT! Eileen is spot-on. My nephew who is a lawyer and a devout Christian always tells me that most the holier than thou Christians have not read the Bible. This especially true of those who are rabidly anti-gay people.
Someone should send this to those AA pastors that are bashing PBO
Today is also Louis Armstrong’s BD!! I remember his smiling face growing up!

Heavenly! This is one of the first songs I downloaded when I first got iTunes. I loved it since I was a kid.
Now there’s a graphic that’s captured the essence of willard, “I lie because the US corporatemediawhores let me”, romney.

Speaking of pie, maybe PBO had birthday pie himself!
I hope someone’s baking him a pie for his birthday time..maybe next week in Chicago when he’s at home to celebrate with Lucky Supporters!.
Sounds yummy! I’m pretty sure he’ll get his pie!
i’m off to new mexico for a family wedding, and so will be missing all you tods for a couple of weeks! it’s so good to know our president is always cared for and supported by such a brilliant, energetic, devoted, and hilarious group!
hasta la vista!
Safe travels, susanne! Have fun…we’ll be here when you return:)
Hasta La Vista to you too, susanne! How fun to go to New Mexico and for a family wedding. I miss much about the Mainland already after being back on Kaua’i for two years.
Have a wonderful time. Safe travels.

OMG, that’s hilarious! SO fitting.
Yeah, shite like this is what must have gotten Clint Eastwood and Jenna Jameson so gushy behind willard.
Who are most of Mitt ‘the liar” Romney supporters? Old white men, fit Eastwood perfectly. As far as the porn star, i really don’t know who she is. But it speaks volume as to their character when they support a pathological liar, who won’t release his tax returns.
Just ‘cuz it’s been in my head…Big supporter of PBO:) Happy Birthday, President Obama!
Maybe some liberals don’t want to jinx things. But I don’t care. My job, as I see it, it to tell people what is going to happen. Obama is going to kick Mitt Romney’s ass.
No Backing off though! No complacency! No apathy! Reid method…GO FOR THE JUGULAR! I’m so over all this bs…I want to crush them to irrelevance. So there is NO MISTAKE WE MEAN BUSINESS!
Zero, as in ZERO chance we are going to let up in any way. It is mega-acceleration from now until 6 Nov. These corrupt anti-American, anti-democracy hateful thugs are going to witness an event that will make them wish for 1936.
Amen, df, Amen. You said it. I don’t want anything “close” in this election. I want “crushed.”

Tying shoelaces is probably too Complicated for this bought and paid for “press”. All the evidence is there..they’re stenographers for the rw and whiny bully/cowards towards the Dems. There, I’ve simplified it for them.
http://drspud44.com/president-obama-defeat-results.html Just a taste….and why we won’t let this happen.
The opinions have been voiced thousands of times in blogs, television soundbites, and newspaper editorials concerning the performance of President Barack Obama. Today, I present a scenario of the implications of his defeat in the form of a list. Some are opinions; others are based on facts.
The Racists will declare victory—It will go like this. In the future, some other young leader with Black, Native or Latino blood will emerge on the political scene. He or she will immediately be met with the statement: “Sounds like another Obama.” (This was done after Jimmy Carter). President Obama’s defeat will be a severe blow to any future minority candidates which is why racists are so opposed to him. Many, many people do not like the fact that people of color will be the majority in a few decades.
The Tea Party Movement will be vindicated as valid—You can imagine it, can’t you? The Tea Party fraud will become a “movement” when all it has ever been is a collection of confused people, mostly racists, who are being provoked by fear. President’s Obama defeat will be advertised as a Tea Party movement victory. The media, especially television, will repeat this over and over until it becomes fact.
The Rich will continue their take-over of the entire world with no opposition-It is my opinion that the Rich are sitting on billions and billions of dollars so the economy will remain bad and ensure President Obama’s defeat. Then, they can complete the take-over of most of the rest of the world’s wealth without any opposition.
The Next Supreme Court Justices will be named by a Republican-The modern Supreme Court is already a travesty and would only get worse if one or two other Republican nominees were in power for life.
The War on Women will accelerate-Planned Parenthood is on the run. Woman’s rights in the workplace and the basic control of their bodies are already at risk as Republicans have assumed control of the state governments. Can you imagine if these same beliefs were put into action on the Federal level?
More on the link…..
We should be so LUCKY to have another one like PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA! F**** the stupid brainwashed haters..they tried to make “Liberal” a dirty word but turns out they made “conservative” to mean vile race teabaggin’ Liar.
I agreed with some of his/her dire projections, but passionately disagreed with much of it. Interesting read. President Obama isn’t the “lesser of two evils” – absolutely not! He is not deserving of most of the criticisms that are thrown his way by unreasonable people, or those who have never worked to make things happen in real life – especially those who are paid to spew their uninformed opinions. I could go on.
But, if this little article causes some of the emoprogs to stop their whining and start working for President Obama’s re-election, and think about the consequences if he doesn’t win – then I’m all for it.
Theo67, I totally cosign your excellent comment!
given the incredibly complex conditions he’s had to operate within, i really don’t see how president obama, or any human, could perform any better than he has. not only is he not the “lesser or two evils,” he’s the most perfect president for this time. president obama has done so much for the entire world…not just america. having this man become president at this point in world history is almost turning me into a religious person!
Great drawing of the President as a young man was posted on Facebook today. The drawing was done in honor of his birthday.
Sweet – I love the title, too. Lots of talented people on Team Obama!
I recommend anyone who is on Facebook to look up and “like” “I love it when I wake up in the morning and Barack Obama is President”. It’s a great page with lots of good stuff and also if something important is happening, news gets posted there that you may need to know in a hurry.
Michael Phelps got an official congratulations from the president after his record-breaking gold medal win Tuesday night. “You’ve made your country proud,” President Obama tweeted at the swimmer. “Thank you Mr. President!! It’s an honor representing the #USA!! The best country in the world!!” Phelps replied.
I watched Phelps swim in the medley relay tonight. His last Olympic swim. A great high note to finish on! Amazing achievement. I can’t wait till these medal winners go to the White House. I’m really enjoying these games more than usual.
It’s also great to know that the President is really enjoying this. I like the thought of him eating popcorn and watching like the rest of us.
I got such a kick out of seeing Michelle get into the games while she was there. They are just so natural and normal.
Agreed. I was looking so forward to these Olympics, and I have to say…aside from the opening ceremony…I’ve barely watched any of them…maybe it’s because the results aren’t a surprise. I am surprised at myself that I missed the swimming events….I LOVE them…as my daughter was a competitive swimmer and had an Olympian as a coach:)
I’ve been watching the events on TV and also following twitter and the Obama Diary on my laptop in the commercial breaks. The gymnastics have been great with Gabby Douglas winning the all-around. What a wonderful thing for your daughter to have an Olympic competitor as a coach.
Both male and female swim teams have been outstanding. It’s not too late to start watching df. You’ll need to know what’s what when they show up at the Whitehouse! Track and field is looking really good and Serena Williams was amazing today in the tennis. And the basketball, well that’s a lot of cuteness.
I also have to give a shout out to the Brits who got six golds today. Jessica Ennis was amazing!!
The paraplegic runner from SA qualified to go on to the next stage so history was made there.
Funny! But I’m more into it this time than I have been before.
Me, too. I’ve been hooked for four hours each night watching the recaps from 8 to midnight! These athletes are amazing. Simply amazing!
Thanks for all the comments. I don’t know how I would stay up all night if it wasn’t for the TOD late birds chatting about everything and anything. So many great links to fun stuff. I can so appreciate all the great achievements of Michael Phelps, Serena Williams, and Gabby Douglas and the US teams in swimming and gymnastics but I gotta root for the athletes who are competing under the Maple Leaf. I loved what the President said about these Olympic sports bringing the people of a country together and that is so true. He is such an inspirational man. Many leaders could take lessons from him.
I’m with you, Alma. I’ve been most proud of the Canadian team – even though I’ve cheered on the American team and some of the other athletes with really interesting stories. They really are truly inspirational and unifying. I loved hearing the British crowd singing their national anthem with Jessica Ennis’ win. Very touching.
Didn’t know you came from up this way. Nice….I also admit to cheering on the team from my Jamaican homeland. They are second on my list.
I’ve lived in California for over a decade, but Canada will always be my real home – my family is there…

@cspanwj #TCOT EXILES – > Catholic Bishops slam Rubio's DREAM act alternative for creating permanent underclass. bit.ly/OCSBzU— Sasha (@sasha2000) August 05, 2012
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is harshly criticizing Sen. Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) potential alternative to the DREAM Act — an idea that has yet to be proposed in a bill, but has provided the Republican Party with a perceived method for appeasing Latino voters — because Rubio won’t support a full path to citizenship. Without providing a path to citizenship and access to higher education for qualified undocumented youth, the USCCB believes that young immigrants will be “at risk of living as second class citizens in our society.”
Another Florida Republican, Rep. David Rivera, has also introduced an alternative to the DREAM Act — however, Rep. Rivera’s bill also fails to live up to the Catholic Bishop’s standards, since it severely complicates and limits the path to citizenship for young immigrants. As the Bishops point out, “Senator Rubio’s and Representative Rivera’s proposals would not serve the best interest of our nation. The vast majority of DREAM-eligible youth are, for practical purposes, Americans.”
