“Understand Your Power: Don’t Give It Away”

****

Thursday:

3:30 ET: President Obama delivers remarks at a campaign event in Charlottesville, Virgina

****

I watched some of the GOP convention today …. mainly with the sound switched off. Seriously. I have zero interest in hearing what those execrable race-baiting bigots have to say.

But what struck me – and it’s hardly a surprise – was the sea of mean, hate-filled faces, the ugliest sample of humanity I’ve had the misfortune to witness in a very long time.

They’re not even there to support Romney, they’re just there to oppose the black guy, and are emboldened in Tampa to spew their bile because they’re surrounded by their fellow bigots. A communal spirit.

We joke sometimes about the GOP’s lack of diversity, but today’s scene really was something else, if the aliens landed and assumed this audience was representative of America in 2012, they’d have assumed the country was populated by nothing but angry, bitter whites. And I’m white, so I know an angry, bitter one when I see one.

And they might have wondered about the crusty old guys yee-hawing in delight at declarations that a woman should have absolutely no rights over her own body, even when she’s raped or the victim of incest.

It was stunning.

As Greg Sargent said today, Romney will, most probably, get a boost in the polls from this obnoxious charade …. but then there’ll be the Democratic convention. And, soon enough, there’ll be the debates.

That’s why we should grit our teeth and let this week go, painful as it is to see these pitiful excuses for human beings dominate the news cycle and the MSM giving them a pass each and every time they spit their hate.

Our time will come.

Stay strong.

Register. Volunteer. Donate. Vote.

PS I just watched Ann Romney. I’m going to be polite, for once, even if I now feel physically ill. But I give you this:

I rest my case.

      Thanks Mary :)

Chips, fantastic pictures, as always – so uplifting.

Agree with the ‘angry white folk’ assessment. I’ll be surprised if we see much of a ‘bump’ what with the considerable negativity toward one another happening live and on YouTube in the RNC audience, itself. The Party of Lincoln is dead, for sure. The John Birch Party is already on life support.

The Romneys are liars and fakes. The Republican leadership is desperately clinging to their last gasp. They know NOTHING about what it means to struggle as so many Americans do and they don’t care about those who do. They have no interest in helping to solve the problems of the poor or middle class or easing anyone’s suffering. Their message is mean-sprited and small. We see right through them and so does the rest of America!

    We’re moving FORWARD, NOT BACK! Obama-Biden 2012!

    The Living Proof

(from the Motion Picture “The Help”)
    Sung by Mary J. Blige

It’s gonna be a long long journey
It’s gonna be enough hill climb
    It’s gonna be though
It’s gonna be some lonely nights
But I am ready to carry on
I am so glad the worst is over
    I can start living now
I feel like I can do anything
And finally I am not afraid to breath
    Anything you said to me
    And everything you do
    You can’t deny the truth
Cause I am the living proof
    So many thoughts fight
They just can’t make it through
    But look at me
    I am the living proof
    Oh yes I am

    Thinking about life been painful
    Yes it was
Took a lot to learn how to smile
So now I am gonna talk to my people about the storm
Oh so glad the worst is over
    I can start flying now
My best days are in front of me
    I am almost there
    Cause now I am free
    Everything you say to me
    And everything you do
    You can’t deny the truth
Cause I am the living proof
    So many those who fight
They just can’t make it through
    But look at me
    I am the living proof

I know where I am going
Cause I know where I have been
I am gonna feel starts that showing
    I am gonna keep rolling
That’s the way that I will
    Everything you say to me
    And everything you do
    You can’t deny the truth
Cause I am the living proof
    So many those who fight
They just can’t make it through
    But look at me
    I am the living proof

Nothing about my life has been easy
But nothing is gonna keep me down
Cause I know a lot about today
    And I know yesterday
So I am ready to carry on
    Oh Lord

Thank you so much for all you tweets. I’m so angry the pundits are just letting the RepubliCONs lie. This convention is just one big political ad for the GOP/T-Bangers. But of course, the media’s sponsors are the Koch bros and ALEC; therefore, the truth would be a conflict of interest.

    Mrs. money’s break-out speech

Hers was the only speech I wanted to see. As she talked I remember feeling nervous because I thought that perhaps in my all consuming hatred of Mrs. Money and her Sackless Wonder of a husband, I had somehow overlooked some startling and bright intelligence or some intensely charming glimmer of personality. As I watched, I kept waiting for one of the two options, or even both, to become unveiled right there on national tv, right in front of our very own eyes. I didn’t breath a sigh of relief till the end. She was BAD! Yes she can read above a 5th grade level, but that was all she was doing. Reading words off a Prompter! There was no real emotional connection to the words. She wasn’t talking to the audience, she was reading to them and every once in a while, she’d add a little valley girl rah rah into the speech. My goodness that woman was bad. You could tell her kids were nervous for her. I’m glad she was able to read the words placed in front of her this morning to the idiots in that convention hall, but she’s no game changer. If they were looking for a miracle, they should have called in the Tiny Tundra.

I so agree with you. I can’t believe that Ezra Klein & Jonathan Caphart were on Twitter talking about how wonder she was. Of course the entire right wing universe on twitter was singing her praises. At first, I thought I must not have heard the same speech as Ezra and Jonathan. The speech was boring as hell. The only thing I got out of it was that she loves her lying husband.

I don’t trust Ezra Klein, who I believe is harboring some deep-seated jealousy of our President, and I’m not really impressed by Jonathan Capehart who is another dime-a-dozen pundiot with not a whole lot of insight.

Jonathan Capeheart often does this sadly embarrassing suck up to the GOP/flip flop crap to keep his job which he doesn’t seem to realize only serves to cheapen and discredit him all the more and makes him look glib and weak…

Ezra Klein does appear to have bought into his own hype…Ezra somehow believes he is President Obama’s equal…And yes, Ezra seems to be nursing a bitter grudge against the President…

I suspect Ezra feels ‘ignored’ by the President and hell hath no fury like a scorned petty, inconsequential but deluded guy like Ezra Klein…

He never stops telling how he single-handedly elected President Obama in 2008…

And like so many others who feel this President ‘owes’ them, they won’t let up their petty, bitter attacks and will not be appeased until President and Mrs Obama invite them to move into the White House with them…

“I don’t know about you, but I don’t want my children and grandchildren to have to read in a history book what it was like to live in an American Century.” Whaaaat? That’s what he said. Maybe he should be more concerned that his grandchildren don’t find out what a dummy he is. Not to worry he won’t be too much longer. He got tired from just walking to the stage. There’s not much wind left, and the canapes are calling from the back room.

Then he says he doesn’t want them to have enormous debt. Too bad he doesn’t realize that they don’t want an enormous unhealthy grandpa. they should tell him, Let’s Move.

Still waiting for the attack dog in him. He was sent to take on PBO, nothing so far. He’s talking to the moderate voters for 2016, not buying into the nuttery that Mitt succumbed to.

that was strange, he didn’t mention PBO.

2600 word speech 1800 in before mention of Mitt. Rachel calls it totally shocking and selfish and awful. Gee, I could be a pundit, I’ve called the same thing as they did. At one point Mitt went to gesture that Ann sit down, after she stood for something Crispy said. He grabbed at her skirt. LOL, Tweety back on to Mitt being a stiff non-earthling. Texas grassroots folks were in the hallway, not inside where the speeches were given. Something about what Mitt did in Texas primary. So far to a person on MSNBC (except the Steve guy, McCain’s guy), no one is giving any of the speakers a good grade.

The two proudest moments mentioned by the keynotes tonight were by Ann who admired her hubby’s giving of the education funds. They of course were government backed scholarship. Then Crispy, talks about his dad’s use of the GI bill to advance the family.

Recap – you can rest easy now, move along, nothing to see here. Don’t even worry about the MSM tomorrow, try as they may, ainn’t enough lipstick for tonight’s pig of a convention.

I believe Churchill’s mother was an American. The reference to Churchill doesn’t matter, because Christie is no Churchill. Chris Matthews likes to be acknowledged and apparently Chris Christie telephones him every so often to chat…

In the end for these media types, it’s really all about their egos getting massaged…

It doesn’t matter that Chris Christie is one one of the most negative and most obnoxious politicians out there, as long as he occasionally chums around with the various personalities in the media, they’ll willingly market and promote him as ‘likeable’, ‘strong’ and the ‘consummate politician’…

All while tsk, tsking at the ‘tone’ of politics today…

They all lack self-awareness and are not simply disingenuous, but blatantly dishonest…they only hope the American people don’t notice…

All I can say, again, with so much relief and gratitude is that IT’S SO MUCH BETTER BEING US THAN THEM. If they weren’t so hateful, I’d feel sorry for them. Their unreasonable rage, their ignorance, their meanness, their small-mindedness, their pettiness, their greed, their selfishness — it all must be so exhausting and self-destructive. They have nothing to believe in besides their hate. How pitiful.

Ah well. History, the present moment, and the future will pass them right on by.

Republican National Convention: Night 1 — @LOLGOP Liveblog

    August 28th, 2012 6:07 pm
    @LOLGOP

    ——————————-

    10:34 PM EST

Now presenting the man the GOP wishes Mitt Romney was — Chris Christie!

If I were Mitt, I would have let Ann finish out the night. There’s not going to be a better case made for him. Everything else will be a stale attack on the president.

Christie says his speech is about choosing respect over love. It’s almost as if he’s rebutting Ann Romney.

He keeps saying over and over “They said…” he couldn’t do what he did. But apparently he did it. Unfortunately the result of his efforts is that New Jersey has a higher unemployment rate than Michigan. He blasts politicians who pander, failing to mention he refused to take a stand on marriage equality, sending the issue to a popular vote.

He says that Democrats ideas have failed America. He’s the perfect example of a Republican who believes history began the day Obama took office.

Several minutes into his speech, he hasn’t mentioned the name Mitt Romney once. Instead, he’s described what Democrats believe in the most demeaning, simple-minded manner possible.

He finally gets to Mitt Romney late, late in his speech, quickly linking him with Paul Ryan. Ann Romney was the lede you wanted for this night, and Chris Christie has buried it.

Christie’s build up of Mitt Romney includes the first very specific attack on ObamaCare of the night.

“This moment is real,” Christie says. He takes on the skeptics and the naysayers. “I have faith in us.”

“Real leaders don’t follow polls,” Christie says. This is an attack that makes more sense against Mitt Romney than against the president who staked his presidency for policies that haven’t polled well.

Christie’s conclusion is calling for a “Second American Century.” “Let us choose a path that will be remembered for generations to come.” This is the most articulate explication of the “We Did Built This!” theme — calling for difficult decisions that will build the future. It’s vague but compelling. However, it does more for Chris Christie than it does for Mitt Romney who was briefly humanized by his wife.

So, rather than wasting my time even reading tweets about Lady Ann’s speech, I had a productive evening. Went and got some groceries. Bought a new toilet and scheduled an installation. Mother made us dinner. And, thanks to a very hot little bartender, made the perfect gin gimlet from her instructions: 2.5 oz of GOOD gin, one squeezed lime, and a splash of simple syrup. That’s going to be all sorts of dangerous. Cheers!

I had so much fun on twitter tweeting about the RNC convention. Twitter was hilarious. Liberals have the BEST wit. Ann Romney’s speech was hilarious. She’s even more awkward than Mitt. She kept yakking about Pasta and Tuna Fish and yadi yada yah. Michelle Obama she is not. Christie forgot that his speech was supposed to be about Romney and only remembered Romney when the camera panned to Romney. Mitt looked pissed off.

The audience was full of people who were either bored or who were doing a perfect imitation of the white man’s overbite. If this is all they have then BWAHAHAHAHA.

Chips, how come you always know exactly what is needed? Do you, like candidate Obama did, walk on water? That video of FLOTUS was just the thing needed. I have this habit of first checking the length of a video BEFORE deciding if I will watch it, especially if I’ve already seen it. So since I watched FLOTUS when she was first presenting this I decided to watch 5 minutes to wash the comments made about AnnD out of my mind. Man, that was a looong 5 minutes! It worked though. I don’t have to hear that other person to know her speec won’t compare.

MormAnn was absolutely horrid. i caught it right when she was talking about touring the country and meeting families who are struggling to put food on their families (sic), and she ends with some screechy and phoney yell, “i know you!!” they probably had to work with her all day to make sure she didn’t throw in a “…people.” at the end…”i know you people!!” couldn’t stand it any longer after tom brokaw compared MormAnn to FIRST LADY michelle obama as falsely equivalent, and thus, mittbot and PRESIDENT obama as being inferior “campaigners” to their wives. yes, tom, barack obama is so bad on the stump! what freaking planet is this guy on?!? david gregory started salivating over MormAnn before i could hit the off button, so i heard a few seconds of that twit too. not sure i’ll be able to stomach any of that bilge this week.

Brokaw basically said in terms of the intent of key note speeches, Christie and PBO 2004 were basically the same as both speeches were less about the presidential candidates ie:Kerry 2004 and Willard 2012, and more about Christie and PBO. WHAT THE FUCK?! I seriously can. Not. Stand that asshat! Now he’s building Christie up as the man of the people, being a repuke but working with a dem legislature. I hate Brokaw. The CNN official declined to confirm specific details of the incident to TPM but generally confirmed an account posted on Twitter by former MSNBC and Current anchor David Shuster: “GOP attendee ejected for throwing nuts at African American CNN camera woman + saying ‘This is how we feed animals.’”

It is not clear whether the alleged culprit was a delegate or attending the convention in some other capacity.

I went. He was in the office with the behavior Coach. Very angry and lashing out. I asked to take him to another room.

After hearing him out, I talked to him about harnessing his control and to “never allow people to take his power away.” I do believe it has worked in some way and it warms my heart. So, hearing this from PBO tonight, just made my day. Thank you, Chips.

“Our government should work for us, not against us. It should help us, not hurt us. It should ensure opportunity not just for those with the most money and influence, but for every American who’s willing to work. That’s the promise of America, the idea that we are responsible for ourselves, but that we also rise or fall as one nation; the fundamental belief that I am my brother’s keeper, I am my sister’s keeper. That’s the promise we need to keep.”

Poll: Romney Faces Lowest Favorability Rating For Major Party Nominee Since Reagan Years

    http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/poll-romney-faces-lowest-favorability-rating-for-major

The Republican nomination officially his and the party’s base seemingly coalescing behind him, Mitt Romney remains hamstrung by a historically low favorability rating, the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll released Tuesday night shows.

According to the poll, only 40 percent of registered voters nationwide have a favorable view of Romney — the lowest level of popularity for a major party’s presidential nominee since the presidency of Ronald Reagan. Fifty-one percent view Romney unfavorably, a problem the former Massachusetts governor has been unable to shake throughout the campaign. It also marks only the second time last fall in ABC/WaPo’s polling that a candidate has been viewed unfavorably by a majority of respondents.

Compounding matters for Romney: his incumbent opponent remains widely liked by the American public. The poll shows that 50 percent of voters have a favorable view of President Barack Obama, compared with 47 percent who hold an unfavorable view…

    • 218 COS
      August 29, 2012 at 12:27 am

And they keep telling us that the polls are close. I would never vote for someone who I did not like.

      • August 29, 2012 at 12:49 am

It tells you why they’re close in the #s…

While Romney’s numbers are low, Obama’s are low for an incumbent.

Romney’s favorability rating is the lowest of any major-party nominee at roughly the time of his
convention in available data back to 1984; indeed he’s the first, at this stage of the campaign, to
be rated more unfavorably than favorably by a significant margin. On the other hand, Obama’s
net favorable rating is substantially lower than the four previous incumbents’ (Reagan, both
Bushes and Bill Clinton) at this point.

One previous candidate in this period had a favorability rating as low as Obama’s and went on to
win the presidency – George H.W. Bush in 1988. (Bush’s unfavorability rating was lower than
Obama’s, with more undecided.) None has won with favorability as low as Romney’s, increasing
the pressure for him to develop more of a personal connection with the electorate, perhaps
starting with his acceptance speech Thursday night.

        Obama’s favorability rating is 50%. In ’08, it was 62%. In ’04, Bush’s was 54%. In ’00, Gore’s was 53% and Bush’s was 61%. Bill Clinton’s was 56% in ’96 and Bush’s was 57% in ’92 (fun fact, Clinton’s was worse … at 53%).

So, only Kerry (48%), Dole (50%) and Mondale (47%) had either equal or worse overall ratings than Obama.

WITH that said, the margins are comparable to past elections – if not better for Obama.

He has a +10 margin over Romney and only had a +3 margin over McCain in ’08.

Bush had a +6 margin over Kerry and a +8 margin over Gore in ’00.

Clinton had a +6 margin over Dole in ’96.

H.W. Bush had a +4 margin over Clinton in ’92.

Dukakis had a +7 margin over H.W. Bush in ’88.

Reagan had a +13 margin over Mondale in ’84.

So, only Reagan had a better margin than Obama currently.

The H.W. Bush numbers on both account are misleading, though. The ’88 numbers are from July, ’88, which was at the height of Dukakis’ popularity. I’m guessing that by October, those numbers were vastly different. His ’92 numbers are from July too, when he was leading Clinton in the polls.

So, Obama is in a good position – but the race remains tight because he’s not as popular as past incumbents. That could change, though, after the DNC Convention.

” because he’s not as popular as past incumbents”

I can tell you right now that this FALSE. PBO is one of the most popular incumbents if not the most popular since Ronald Reagan, and poll numbers in the Obama era do not reflect the same thing that they reflected before he became elected.

Just to give you an example: Gallup polled Clinton, Bush, Reagan, etc 4-7 times during their first 3 years. Gallup polled PBO 84 TIMES!!!! When you poll excessively to remind people they MUST be dissatisfied about SOMETHING, you end up with your desired result.

And that’s what polling data reflects. It does not reflect on President Obama, it reflects on the corporate media and polling oufits’ nefarious agenda and manipulations.

    Suck on this Bobby Jindal!
    —————-
Jindal takes credit for stimulus, presents constituents with jumbo-sized stimulus check.

    http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2009/07/21/51962/jindal-stimulus-check/

Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) reemerged on the national stage yesterday, penning an op-ed in the Politico to slam efforts to reform health care and declaring the Economic Recovery Act a failure. Jindal declared the Recovery Act “a nearly trillion-dollar stimulus that has not stimulated.” However, less than 24 hours before Jindal published his op-ed, Jindal traveled to Anacoco, Louisiana to present a jumbo-sized check to residents of Vernon Parish. The funds included hundreds of thousands of dollars directly from the Recovery Act — at least $157,848 in Community Block Grant money authorized by the Recovery Act and $138,611 for Byrne/JAG job training programs created by the Recovery Act. Rather than credit the federal government or the Recovery Act he opposed, Jindal printed his own name on the corner of the massive check…

Jindal was one of the GOP governors who opposed the Recovery Act and he succeeded in blocking money for unemployment compensation.

    • 248 FiredUpInCA
      August 29, 2012 at 1:29 am

Bobby Jindal is working overtime as a fraud. He also demanded more money from the Federal government for Isaac. As is the custom, the President provided 75% of direct assistance while the state is expected to provide 25%. Bobby want the Federal government to reimburse his state for the 25%.

Inquiring minds want to know, why Bobby would want this socialist handout? What is his obligation to his state? Merely to wait for disasters to strike, give a press conference about how he’s spending on relief and then ask the government to pick up the tab, followed by another press conference where he says the Federal government is spending too much.

Somebody elected this fool and both Bobby and his voting bloc have convinced themselves that when Federal tax dollars are spent on them it is necessary and righteous, but when it’s spent on others it’s hastening the end of United States of America as we know it.

Some Faux News viewers are apparently mad at Juan Williams. [I haz a sad for him… NOT! ]

    Here’s why:
    ——————–
    Juan Williams calling Ann Romney

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0812/80330.html?hp=l7

Fox News contributor Juan Williams took some ribbing from his colleagues Tuesday night after saying Ann Romney looked “like a corporate wife” who hasn’t struggled in her life.

“Mitt Romney’s wife, Ann Romney, on the other hand looked to me like a corporate wife,” Williams said, speaking on a panel after the Republican National Convention’s speeches wrapped for the night. “And you know the stories she told about struggle, eh, it’s hard for me to believe. She’s a very rich woman and I know that and America knows that.”

Fox News hosts Bret Baier replied, “Wow, OK,” and Megyn Kelly asked Williams, “What does that mean, corporate wife?”

“What does it mean?” Williams replied. “It looks like a woman whose husband takes care of her and she’s been very lucky and blessed in this life. She’s not speaking, I think, for the tremendous number of single women in this country, or married women or separated — actually she did not convince me that you know what, ‘I understand the struggles of American women in general.’”

“Is that the same speech you heard Brit?” Baier asked Fox News commentator Brit Hume.

“Uh no. I think that was the single most effective political speech I’ve ever heard given by a political wife,” Hume said.

Later, the panel reconvened — but without Williams. Wall Street Journal columnist and former presidential speechwriter Peggy Noonan joined to offer commentary in Williams’s place.

“I want to point out that we did not kick Juan off the panel because of the corporate wife comment, we wanted to get a speechwriter’s perspective,” Baier said, to laughter.

“Although we considered it,” Kelly said…

Poor Juan Williams! He still doesn’t know that as a black person he was not hired to think on his own. He is supposed to be seen but not heard.

Well, it was an interesting day/night. I’ve seen more of the the Weather Channel in the last 24 hours than ever before. But they do like “our President” there which is great to see! Ann Romney is no Michelle but there are other contrasts far more striking. I didn’t see much of any of it, could only stomach a few minutes. But I really wondered who the Stepford barbie doll was talking to with this speech, or the last few minutes that I saw. I am around her age, maybe a few years younger but my youth was filled with fighting for women’s issues, reproductive rights and equal pay. She concluded with we should trust him and he’d be fine, the same way he took her home from the dance and kept her safe? Give me a break! That sounds like my mother’s generation, certainly not mine or any of the working/career women who have grown up since that time. I flipped to Christy’s speech for less than 5 seconds, saw his angry, yelling, unsmiling face and went back to the WC. Then there is the race incident. While it nauseates me to hear of it in this day and age, in one way I am happy. I hope it is spead far and wide for all of those undecided voters to see/hear what this group truly is about. Anger, bitterness, hate, divisiveness. Is this really who you want in your lives the next four years? The contrast between the hope, optimism and joy with the Dems couldn’t be more striking and is EXACTLY what the country needs to see. I do not believe that the majority of people in this country would sign on for this ugliness if they see it for what it is. Rather, I believe most want the best for their families, their communities and their country. From the little bit I saw tonight, I’d say the RNC convention is a huge success for us and a huge fail for them in that it showed their true colors rather than the rose colored version Romney was hoping for during these three days.

Goodnight Chips and TOD Family. I have see and lived through a lot of hateful situations in our nation as a very young child, young teenager, a young lady, and as an adult which brought me to my golden age years. I saw hate, vile persons posing as loving their country, but I saw few in their midst who are of their country. Tonight did not represent America, but an Ugly America, and that is so sad. I cried after I got mad.

I am like Chips, I cried. I am one who did watch while speaking long distance with my best friend who has watched these conventions since John F. Kennedy. This is sad that so many gave their blood for the right to practice democracy in a nation that should be out of the dirty diapers stage. When will we grow up as loving people for all the world to see.

Mrs. Ann was sad to me. She was awful. Mitt was angry when Christie threw him under the bus and then ran over him over and over again. Plus the ugly people in the audience was sad. What a photo for the world to see the ugly side of our country.

It hurts like hell because so much is at stake and so many have giving their lives for us to be in a better place than what was presented to the world tonight.

But we have next week. We still have hope, and change, and love, and inspiration coming, and a president and vice-president who both have compassion and a plan for this America that we here want. So we will not give up, give in, or give out, but move together, Pressing On and surely moving FORWARD.

So let us wake up tomorrow, be it grace from the angels of the precious gift of breath, and donate, phone calls, tweets to make, emails to send, and get people registered to VOTE. We need POB!!!!!

This will wipe away the tears from my eyes, Chips’, and so many, many more of us all over this nation. We Are Better Than This. This, that we heard, saw, and felt tonight. It was too ugly.

Do not forget those who have FR pages. We have to give POB and VP Biden every instrument they will need to win this. This is all I ask of each of us. Let us not give up ,because so many are depending on us to show who we really can be as decent, honest, and gentle people in this nation. People can’t heal with this type of hate. We Really Are Better Than This, America.

((((((((((((((( I love our beautiful Chips and my TOD Family.)))))))))))))))))))) HZ

Interesting that the GOP is unable to find any female other than Miss Ann to speak to the wonders of Mitt. Does this tell us something about Mitt – or Ann – or both?

Oh great! Levee over topped, 12 feet of water in New Orleans!

He will speak in prime time, shortly before Obama and Vice President Joe Biden accept their respective nominations during an outdoor session of the convention at the football stadium used by the Carolina Panthers. It will be the main national security speech of the convention.

“Senator Kerry will speak to how the president has restored America’s leadership in the world, has taken the fight to our enemies, and has a plan to bring our troops home from Afghanistan just like he did from Iraq,” said an Obama campaign official who demanded anonymity to speak about the speech before it was officially announced.

“He will contrast the president’s strong leadership in this area with Mitt Romney, who has embraced the go-it-alone, reckless policies of the past that weakened America’s place in the world and made us less secure here at home,” the official added.

MSNBainC is ignoring New Orleans. They give 30 second updates, just like Brownie did in 2005. Morning Joke, his reputation precedes Him.
