That’s the way, Bob!!
Go on and speak TRUTH, Bob! I wish a media person would ask me that question because I am absolutely better off today than I was four years ago.
ahhh… missed it! But congrats Roberta!!
CBS has audio
THEY ARE SOOOOOOOOOOOOO FIRED UP!!! Chanting like crazy!!
O B A M A !!!
Damn it df. Where are the crowds and enthusiasm the MSM says we don’t have. I’m waiting? (snark)
NICE! We know how to do this thing!!!
It looks like we missed VP Biden’s speech in Detroit. It was not carried live anywhere.
Yep, the pattern continues — 1 hr earlier than posted.
Bringing this over from the previous post…

With the GOP lead SCOTUS weakening and trying to overturn every single one of these. GOP Governors with their “Right to Work for Less” states have weakened and put workers at risk and I wonder why these same workers would rather work in a non-union shop for less money baffles me.
Agreed jojo. There are many low information people out there voting against their own interest or not understanding the power of their vote. We’ve gotta keep beating the drums louder and more often. And we need more drummers.
“This election is about US”!!!!!!!
She is doing an excellent job introducing the President and framing the message perfectly!!!
who is she? AWESOME Intro!!
Union worker, I think UAW, and first name sounds like “Kenyata” … but we should be able to find it in CSPAN video of the introduction.
thank YOU Bob :)
Absolutely! Great job!!
Didn’t she also say she was third-generation union worker! Nice!
Yes and I loved the way that when she was laid off she started training others so that when the jobs opened they would be prepared …
Crowd says “I love you” and PBO responds “I love you back!” Crowd erupts into cheers :) :)
And I smile because that could be any crowd any day in America!
Me too!! :)
http://theimmoralminority.blogspot.fr/2012/09/chris-rock-sums-up-situation-quite.html Nice graphic of Chris Rock and table demonstrating how we are better off.
Dumb Romney bus is driving around Obama’s event again. So stupid. And I almost felt sorry for his few measly protesters—–they are holding up Hillary signs saying “Shame on you, Barack Obama!” Wrong election, people!
The Toledo Blade obviously liking the featured photo of PBO reading the Blade in the diner.
I missed the intro. It sounds as if it was pretty good. PBO said he was backstage and it sounded like preaching going on. This crowd is fired up, no wonder it looks hot there.
Oh chipstick check this video out. This fabulous http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_d9mntKvGM
Wonderful video!! You just made my day!!!!
I just love that ‘secret sauce of job creation’ he started using Saturday :D :D :D
Clearly trying to appeal to the spongebob demographic
Nick at Night! Ha ha, I think even the demographics of the Nick at Night audience know better than to believe anything R&R (Rong & Ronger) says.
*Rong & Ronger* = one of your best, cookemom, if that’s another original!
hmmm original, maybe I should copyright it……
I would! And all your other good stuff!
Football analogy! Ohio LOVES THEIR FOOTBALL!!
OH SNAP, unnecessary roughness. BAM……
You don’t need that coach … that’s a losing season … he just did the most perfect analogy using football … that will be a ‘classic’ YouTube video :D :D :D
Football analogy in OH is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely love that analogy also. :) He is to good.
I agree with you guys about the sports analogy.
As an advit Steelers Nation member someone please tell me what President Obama said about the sport of kings!
"The vanity of being known to be trusted with a secret is one of the chief motives to disclose it." Samuel Johnson http://t.co/qRyYOSFx— Edwina (@NJedwina) September 03, 2012
The crowd is on fire. Our President is telling it like it is. If Union doesn’t work to re-electhis man there is something really wrong with our country. then it will be because he is of a different color and then shame on them. HI Everyone.
I read somewhere that the Union is planning a massive “get-out-the vote” offensive for this election.
Happy Labor Day, Mr. President! You get it! Love your reference to the labor of “the bartender who knows what you’re drinking when you walk in” – that made me smile.
Happy Labor Day to all Americans and Canadians, who both celebrate today!
In Romney’s 1% family, “child labor” means his grandkids might have to wash the car or something (as if).
In my grandfather’s 99% family, back in 1896 when he was 11 years old, he had to go into the coal mines of Western Pennsylvania to help support his family. During his lifetime (cut short because of the condition of his lungs in the 1950s), he’d say of the President of the United Mine Workers (who helped get them out of what happened to him personally as a young boy – coincidentally the age of my grandson today), and my grandfather was a peaceable man, “If anybody says anything bad about John L. Lewis, I’ll kill him!”
We all need to thank and support the unions, on behalf of all of our grandfathers and all of our children and grandchildren and great grandchildren!
Hey Jacqueline, nicely said… my grandfather too was a coalminer, here in ND.
Thanks, sherijr – a lot of our grandfathers were! I’ve repeated his John L. Lewis story a gazillion times, but it says it all to me.
POTUS is bringing it on home. He’s making the choice in this election clear. The football analogy is freaking awesome. That’s going to be a classic. Everybody gets it. It just makes sense.
Wish I hadn’t missed the analogy. Sounds like it was a stupendous put down of Robme’s claim that with 22million losses (I assume referring to unemployent) the US needs a new coach. Maybe Chips will capture it??????
PBO is cranking this up…BIG TIME
Yep his convention speech is going to be amazing.. I do believe he is going to blow the entire country (in a good way) away with it~ cannot wait.
I agree, sherjr! Dots will be connected and the plan for the future laid out for the American people. I feel a sea change coming on….a tsunami!!!
tsunami indeed… right there with you feeling the fire :)
i just saw this — I suppose all of you already have. It’s a GREAT article in Rolling Stone about how Mitt is the “debt-creator-in-chief.” That that THAT is what his whole campaign is really about. No spoof. It’s a must-read (unless you already have).
President Obama: “I said we’d take out Bin Laden – we did!” Crowd erupts into cheers/applause.
I love this speech. Fantastic!!
It was a beaut!!!!
New stuff and he was on fire. Wooot!!!!
Mr. President – I’m not sure I could love you any more than I do today, because I’m already ready to burst with pride and admiration hearing your Labor Day speech in Ohio. I don’t know why you’re willing to give us four more years, we don’t deserve it, but we will do our best to get you re-elected in November!
I watched the speech on C-Span TV. Like to mute the garbage that follows and just watch the President meet the crowd. He looks so happy when he’s out with people. What a dynamite smile and genuine awesomeness we see in him!!!!! A real person with a real heart. I think he just blew a kiss to somebody?
Gotta get my old self calmed down. Ha!
Thanks JO for expressing so well the way I felt after listening to his speech today. By the way, VP Biden was just as great! This country is so blessed by having these incredible human beings leading it.
Obviously, I totally agree!!!! :)
YOU GOTTA REGISTER.
——- YOU GOTTA VOTE.
—————BECAUSE WE GOTTA LOT OF WORK TO DO.
Loved this line so hard.
tweeting that Ladyhawke!
Nancy Smash is on w Andrea right now.
Nancy Smash is on Andrea Mitchell Reports on MSNBC now!
Nancy is awesome, AM is a disaster. Makes watching tough.
Thank you Nancy Pelosi for reminding Mrsl Greenspan – let’s deal with one election at a time. She’s is so bent on stirring up controversy. Already trying to imply that VP Biden has not done any interviews since he spoke about same sex marriage. Already looking out to 2016 about whether VP Biden or Hillary Clinton will run. Mitchell is just disgusting.
Agreed. Changed the channel once Nancy was done.
PBO is in the zone! Fantastic speech – football analogy an absolute classic.
PBO was on fire!!! in Toledo, OH. AWESOME speech. Closing with Bruce Springsteen’s We Take Care of Our own.
ok was it just me? When talking about vets coming home did PBO say one of the things he’d do is make sure they had a roof over their heads? I could have sworn he said a roof over a different body part. I got so discombobulated, I jumped up and ran from the room.
More good pictures from The President’s arrival in Toledo here:
Can’t get enough of the cute kids!!
No wonder Chuckie is hazing a major sad….
New poll finds Mitt Romney's convention speech was the worst since Bob Dole in 1996… pwire.at/PX8Lqw— Taegan Goddard (@politicalwire) September 03, 2012
Anddrea is just doing another lie about having 2 years of total control in the congress. Jesus these people are just awful.
ok…here is my e-mail
Please have Mrs Greenspan
correct the lie she just told on National television….that the Democrats had
” Total Control of Congress for the first two years ”
When was Al Franken seated ?
When Did Scott Brown get sworn in ?
In case you all don’t know how to use google….
Franken was sworn in on July 7, 2009
Scott Brown was sworn in on February 4, 2010.
Now , I am no math wizard…but even counting on my fingers, that equals about 7 months of the Democrats having 60 votes in the Senate .
She still has time to make the correction before the end of what she laughably calls a news show.
Thanks, and remember…we are watching and listening to what is said.
Thank you Linda for correcting Mrs. Greenspan. She’s knows that is BS. I get so tired of hearing this nonsense. The other thing that burns my arse is when they say liberals are angry with President Obama for not closing GITMO as he promised. When we all know that the reason GITMO has not been closed is because of Republicans AND Democrats in congress blocking it. Facts are stubborn things.
My pleasure……I will NOT be silent when they lie.
Can this help for twitter?
Does .@MitchellReports not have access to Google? Franken seated 7/7/09. Brown 2/4/10. A sick senator 2. 2 years? .News or GOP propaganda?— Vick C. (@sonamie) September 03, 2012
thanks vc !
Don’t mention it. TODobots have them in our sights specifically and SEVERELY this week.
I just had my fix of this – never too much in my opinion. Enjoy again, I’m sure
I seem to remember 2 of the Dem count were Independents. Ted Kennedy was out due to his cancer a lot as well as another Dem they brought in on stretcher to vote. Not even mentioning the DINOs that were included in the number in the party.
Thank you Linda for exposing these liars in the MSM!
Thnak you Nany Pelosi.
PBO called GOP policies “unnecessary roughness” PBO is on fire. He brought it to Toledo!!
Please don’t forget to dig deep and donate what you can before President Obama accepts the nomination on Thursday. All primary funds must be submitted before he accepts the donation – then you go into the General Election fund. If you have any of the Primary $2500 maximum still available, and you can afford it, please donate. Early voting starts on Sept 27. The campaign needs to be able to respond to the SuperPAC dollars and the attack ads that will start flowing from the GOP donors, and there will be plenty to refute. We can’t wait until October. Dig deep! Thanks!
PBO can counter the GOPKKK KarlaRove attack ads if everyone votes early. PBO has asked that we vote early, which me and my husband will do on October 20th – the first day of early voting in Nevada. I will donate to the DNC for the next three months. I have very little but I did donate $3 a month donation for each family member; my husband, my dog peep, Caleb, and myself. I call Caleb a dog peep because to us, he is a person, a family member. We could never ever strap our baby to the top of a car.
I was on the phone call last night and I got an email that I could donate $83 more to reach my limit. I decided I didn’t have a choice if I want my children and this country to have a brighter, more equal, more secure future that President Obama started and will continue to do so in the next four years.
Pres. Obama was fantastic. The football analogy cracked me up!
BO: "I need you to make phone calls! I need you to knock on doors! I need you to talk to your neighbors! Ohio, I need you to stand with me!"— (@utaustinliberal) September 03, 2012
POTUS: "We've got more good 2 jobs to create, more cars 2 build, more teachers 2 hire, more veterans 2 take care of. That's whats at stake!"— (@utaustinliberal) September 03, 2012
Pres. Obama: "I'm counting on something different. I'm counting on you. I'm counting on you!" Crowd cheers. #OH— (@utaustinliberal) September 03, 2012

Pres. Obama: I think we need to refresh his (Gov. Kasich) memory because the jobs that are helping Ohio's economy are auto jobs!" #OH— (@utaustinliberal) September 03, 2012
Crowd boos at mention of John Kasich. Pres. Obama: "Don't boo…" Crowd responds: "Vote!" #OH— (@utaustinliberal) September 03, 2012
Thanks ut for these valuable livetweets. Mark Knoller could use some lessons from you.
Caller on CSPAN after the speech makes a good point. Says the last businessman to runt he country was Herbert Hoover and look what happened. It took Roosevelt 4 consecutive terms to get us out of the mess Hoover created.
That sounds like something that should be in somebody’s speech on the podium this week.
Plus FDR had super majorities of 80+ DEMS in the senate!!! PBO only had marginal fillibuster-proof marginal majority for two years (and that majority including a whole bunch of blue dogs), and a small majority for the remainder of his term.
yep, I like this analogy of it taking the Dem Roosevelt 4 terms to fix the mess of the Repub businessman. It’s a clear contrast that seniors can relate to.
Exactly! But even with super majorities in Congress, it still took FDR three terms to finally arrest high unemployment. A great deal of FDR’s success in creating jobs had to do with the massive government mobilization and spending for World War II. One of my biggest disappointment with the pundits and reporters in the MSM is their ignorance of history. Sadly, the same is true of the holier than thou progressives who are in love with FDR and LBJ but constantly disparage President Obama.
That is correct nathkatun7. Thanks for your commentary on this blog – you are an excellent historian! :)
GW Bush had an MBA so he would count as a businessman too and look where that got us!
George Bush was a businessman. He actually emphasized that when he ran for Governor and President.
Pres. Obama: "On first down, Gov. Romney will hike taxes on the middle-class. I call that unnecessary roughness." #OH— (@utaustinliberal) September 03, 2012

Pres. Obama: "Medicare, social security, workers rights; these are the things hardworking people and unions fought for!" Crowd: "Yes!" #OH— (@utaustinliberal) September 03, 2012
Leader Pelosi was just on Andrea Mitchell’s show. She ended the interview with an amazing comment regarding reelecting President Obama, Chips; please post that video.
Dear Chips Darlin’,
It is so great to have you back and firing on all cylinders! No hateful interloper will ever shake our love, respect and support for all you do and continue to do for President Obama and for us. TOD is an oasis and refuge each and every day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I had posted this in the last thread but then noticed a new one was up so bringing it over here.
Hi Chips, I have just caught up with some of the comments on the last threads and realised that there was an issue.
Just want to say that I am so glad it was sorted and you are back in all your pomp.
Please know that like so many expressed , you are loved , admired and respected greatly for your brilliant blog and steadfast ,phenomenal support of PBO.
As long as you are here so will we be.
Thanks for staying the course and all you do. PBO would be proud too!
The Dems calling in and tweeting to CSPAN’s call-in show after PBO’s speech are on fire. The Repubs calling in are reduced to talking points. The Dems are responding with facts, good show.
I saw a tweet from one of our own, Kate Hussein Obama on C-Span after the speech. :) I listened for awhile and was pleasently surprised at the Dems telling it like it is.
Can someone tweet Mrs Greenspan and publicly shame her with the fact that PBO only had 4 months of a majority in the senate by the time Franken was seated and then Scott Browns’ win. Everybody knows that so stop with the ‘two year’ majority malarkey.
Off-topic: U.S. Open — Serena is on the court now against Hlavackova — really just getting started.

New post everyone:
I think I am all straightened out and back able to post again. Whew!
Woooooot!!!! So sorry about the trouble you had OSG, I hadn’t a clue what was causing the problem for you. Great to see you back ;-)
I have a hunch Google Chrome cache is becoming a bigger and bigger problem lately. The old lady nap I took reminded me about dusting that cache out.
Ah, okay OSG, I don’t use Chrome at all so know less than nothing about its problems, thrilled you’re back!
CNN is also pimping the Charlotte observer poll, while ignoring the PPP poll.
I am not surprised.
