“Never in modern American history has a presidential candidate tried so hard to hide himself from the people he hopes to serve,” Reid said during his evening speech here at the Democratic National Convention. “When you look at the one tax return he has released, it’s obvious why. It’s obvious why there’s only been one. We learned that he pays a lower tax rate than middle class families. We learned he chose Swiss bank accounts and Cayman Islands tax shelters over American institutions. And we can only imagine what new secrets would be revealed if he showed the American people a dozen years of tax returns — like his father did.”

CNN Pundits are pretty good, I am fairly satisfied, thus far with their Coverage.
Except, Jon King, who interrupts every praise of the Democrat, with jealous contention.
A few Obama Bumper stickers here in Asheville, and one already went to Charlotte.

Honestly I just don’t have a clue as to what on earth Chuck Todd was talking about when he said that Dems lack diversity in our Party. I have seen some of the most charismatic, good-looking, eloquent speaking people come on this stage tonight and we haven’t even gotten to most of the political heavy hitter yet.

  40. 88 lamh35
    September 4, 2012 at 8:56 pm

I also love the “real” people who they are bringing out.

Unlike with Romney’s people, the DNC people are talking about how Obama’s POLICIES will/has/would affect their lives.

All Romney’s “real” people talked about were how “human” Romney was…nothing on how his policies (if he ever articulated them) would affect them.

  41. 90 purpleshoesla

Okay I am going to be crude. To the MEE-DEE-YA and the GOP Klowns who said that our illustrious Pres could not run on his record. That is exactly what speaker after speaker is showing tonight at the DNC–the accomplishments of our President’s record. So SUCK IT!!!!!! Crudeness concluded.

  46. September 4, 2012 at 8:59 pm

It has been great so far. Ken Salazar and Tammy Duckworth were tops. Loved Cory Booker. He brought tears to my eyes. Kennedy’s tribute was awesome. Jimmy Cater continues to inspire. What a difference from last week.

    September 4, 2012 at 9:00 pm

I’m in tears right now. The family from AZ with the little girl that needs a third heart surgery was the topic. It was a heart rendering speech and video. So glad they did that one. That is my number one reason for wanting PBO to get 4 more years. That is so Romney cannot repeal Obamacare.

  48. September 4, 2012 at 9:01 pm

Democrats are not wasting one minute on mindless crap. Every speaker and every video is about something important, something real.

  49. 108 Cman
    September 4, 2012 at 9:03 pm

Wow, that Zoe story was like an arrow straight to the heart. Next time I hear someone say Obama is not running on his record, I will have to backhand slap the taste out of their mouth.

  50. 109 dotster3
    September 4, 2012 at 9:03 pm

The family with the child who was born with the serious heart defect and requiring multiple surgeries made the undeniable case for Obamacare, didn’t they? Repubs are so heartless and don’t consider or care about these type of families where it is literally a matter of life and death and total financial ruin.

You know, listening to these speeches, what stands out for me, time and again, is the political risks President Obama took. The stimulus, the auto industry rescue, healthcare, Osama Bin Laden. Each of these could have gone horribly wrong, but he made the hard decisions, in the face of tremendous pushback, with no thought to his political future. Now that is true leadership.
