Coming to the party late but I totally agree with you Carolyn about the Obamas and the Bidens and the joy they bring us. This time our country was very lucky to elect two incredible men who are married to two absolutely incredible women.

The President is staying over night, 1 City away from Me.
I have an appointment with Him in the Morning.
    I wish!

  10. September 7, 2012 at 9:39 pm

That was the best 3 days the Democrats have had in a long time. They put the “wood” to the republicans. Chips a weird question for you. When the President finishs his speech he hits the podium with his left hand. Why does he do this. Wonderful work.

    • September 7, 2012 at 9:46 pm

It’s just his way of punctuating the end of his speech with a spritz of energy and determination. Sometimes it’s a light pat, other times it’s a hard slap, depending on how fired up he is.

He is a southpaw, also, so a natural hand for him to use.

    • 49 nathkatun7
      September 8, 2012 at 1:36 am

I assume that since the President is left-handed, it’s his left hand that he uses all the time to make a point. At least that’s the way I’ve seen him perfectly shoot three points on the basketball court. Bottom line: I am totally guessing. But I absolutely love it when he hits the podium because it shows how passionate he is about what he believes in.

i cannot wait for nov 7, when we won’t have to see myth’s face or hear this voice again–ever!

        September 7, 2012 at 10:23 pm

Indeed, it’s good that there’s not much time left, because I’m almost starting to see both he and his wife as being not so much ‘mockable’ as out of their league in an I-feel-sorry-for-them underdog way. On CBS today the Romneys followed immediately after PBO’s speech so I watched for the first 5 minutes or so, Mitt looked and sounded like an inexperienced, poorly funded, out-of-his-depth operator trying to campaign against a more polished competitor. It looked tawdry. I did feel sad for them for a second or two because they seemed to be trying so hard to look like they knew what they were doing and to connect.

Exactly, Chips. They simply were lost in their freedom. That is an amazing achievement of President Obama and all of the millions of Americans who have stood with him to ensure that each person can have exactly that kind of moment in their life.

I’ve donated so much $$$ to the Obama campaign this cycle, lol. More than I’d ever planned to. And, this week, it seemed like I just couldn’t stop donating! Lol. Donated again before the “midnight deadline” tonight. Some of that may be a little guilt that I haven’t had the time to volunteer this time like I did in ’08, so hopefully I’m helping all you wonderful volunteers and staff doing the hard, great work out there have the resources you need.

We’re back from hearing POTUS at the University. That building he spoke in front of – that’s where I work! Anyhow, it was AWESOME! We weren’t very close – we were about 200 feet away, but still! I couldn’t believe that was him! Or VP Joe! Or FLOTUS or Jill! Wow. We took off while they were shaking hands and planned to go for dinner, but all the main roads were blocked for the entourage. So we took a back country road and decided to drive up to the airport and watch AF1 take off. We sped down the back roads about 25 miles and made it to the airport road not 3 minutes before the whole entourage of 34 cars (Ron counted) went by. We waved to all the limos – I saw the green dress in one of them. Then we waited around 15 more minutes to see AF1 – but it went west and banked around to the north, we weren’t expecting that. Anyhow – GREAT evening.

hi everyone. this might sound weird, but i’m feeling changed in a profound way after the democratic convention. i need to recommit in a serious way to the cause that president obama preaches. these next couple of months will be the last time i can ever campaign for him, and i feel i need to double or triple down on my efforts. i do some donating and work at the ofa office already, but in reality i can do more. i can forego a few more nights out the next couple a months and give that time and money to ofa and my local democrats who are running. i’m determined to do that now. after seeing gabby giffords give the pledge of allegiance, i know i can do more. i hope others feel similarly. we have got to give president obama a house and senate he can work with. forward!!!

  28. September 7, 2012 at 10:41 pm

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – Obama senior adviser David Plouffe downplayed any notion of a post-convention bounce for the president — much of it was punctured by Friday’s disappointing jobs report.

“Our belief is, we entered the convention with a small but important lead in most of those battleground states,” Plouffe said, according to a pool report. “We’ll see where we are at the end of next week, let’s say. But our suspicion is, the race is going to be about where it was. And that’s a problem for Mitt Romney.”

Plouffe maintained that while there may not be a bounce, per se, there is momentum.

“We come out of the convention with momentum,” he said. “That doesn’t mean the race is going to change significantly. But we think that we come out of here with some momentum in terms of putting together the electoral picture.”

He said Team Obam is still predicting a razor-thin election.

“We are not expecting huge movement in this race all the way out to the next 60 days… but there is a chance we might have increased our turnout dynamics,” he said.

      Love to see this.

By the end of the 2008 campaign, I had lost all respect for McCain. But I never felt the intensity of negative emotion I feel toward the Romneys – both of them. I’m not proud of it. I hate the way the Obamas have been treated and take it personally.

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) – After managing a winning campaign on the hit NBC sitcom “Parks and Recreation,” the actors Rashida Jones and Adam Scott will be in Iowa this weekend to stump for President Barack Obama.

The Obama campaign announced Tuesday that Jones and Scott will appear at events on Saturday and Sunday at Drake University, Iowa State University, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa.

Other details haven’t been released. The campaign says they will speak with students about Obama’s plans to make college more affordable, expand health care and create jobs.

On the show, Scott played the campaign manager for Leslie Knope, who won a small-town Indiana city council race by 21 votes after a recount. Jones also was a top adviser to Knope, played by actress Amy Poehler.

Vandehei/Politico—–worthless, dishonest and wrong about everything

    • September 7, 2012 at 11:23 pm

Thank God Katrina and Maher said something!
This guy Van Dehei is like Rush Limp alls.
He said, that Day 2 of the convention was an abortion-palooza.
      A Hack!

    • September 8, 2012 at 12:46 am

I had one of my conservative FB “friends” try to pull the same trick on me that VandeHei is trying to pull now. He claimed that PBO is a liar as a response to my early posts about Romney being an habitual liar. He didn’t believe that Romney is a blatant, practiced, and very accomplished liar. I ignored his comments and kept posting articles with links proving that Romney will lie about anything. As the MSM began to slowly call Romney out on his lies, this particular FB “friend” stopped calling PBO a liar. PBO may not always get every fact right, but he makes an effort to avoid deliberately lying to us. Where lying is concerned, there is no comparison that can be made between Romney and PBO where an honest person would conclude that they both lie as boldly and easily as Romney lies. VandeHei is upset that republican politicians are being exposed as the liars, vile, do/know nothing individuals they’ve always been. She has a sad because she’s disillusioned that the fact checks of the dems’ speeches showed that the truth was being spoken to the American people, and that the fact checkers revealed that the speakers at the GOP convention lied in every speech. She and other journalists like her are largely responsible for the American people not knowing that republicans have been lying to them for over 30 years! What do people who can’t win unless they lie and cheat do when confronted with the truth? They lie some more. These *itches are so jealous of the Obamas and the Bidens. They’ve lied about the president since before he took office. They’ve ridiculed ever word that came out of VP Biden’s mouth in their effort to try painting him as a perpetually gaffe-prone individual. They know the prez and VP are very smart, and that’s one of the things that scares the wits out of them. They also know that they stand by their principles and that they can’t offer them any amount of money to neglect their sworn duties to work in the best interest the American people (unlike Romney/Ryan.) These things make them a serious threat. I have thought for quite some time now that these have been the major reasons for GOP opposition to the president, and to a degree, his race. They know he’s way smarter than they are, and they know the vp has his back. They know he and the vp pride themselves on doing the right things, getting things right, doing their jobs, and telling the American people the truth. The prez & vp are everything the republicans only wish they were. IMO, there is no one in the GOP that is equal to our prez and our vp. No one. VandeHei can go suck on a rotten egg. The republicans are liars. She may not want to face it, but nothing can change the fact that when we say they’re liars, we’re 100% correct, and we can prove it!

I would love to tell that guy, don’t claim it, prove it. Show us where the Obama camp have put out lies, lying ads, knew they weren’t true, but keep on running those ads.

yep, we’re better off 4 years later–article in us news:

‘ Obama’s stimulus is one of the most misunderstood pieces of legislation in U.S. history, says Time journalist Michael Grunwald. The author of The New New Deal: The Hidden Story of Change in the Obama Era recently spoke to U.S. News about why Republicans were so successful in their campaign against the bill, and why Americans don’t understand how truly transformative it was. ‘

‘ Why should Mitt Romney read this book?

What Republicans can learn from this is that a lot of the things they’ve been trashing as big government nonsense have actually had an effect.

Are Americans better off than they were four years ago?

I think the answer is yes. What people forget is just how catastrophic our situation was four years ago. Gaining 150,000 jobs isn’t that great, but it’s way better than losing 800,000. And that’s always going to be the difficulty for Obama: selling the notion that things could have been worse, and that things were worse. ‘
