Back in a while
ready to go!
Ready to go!!!
Yikes, WordPress does it again, denies me from being first. Oh, well.
thanks, but it was a surprise to me, too–i kept thinking all the other ‘first’ responders would eventually load ahead of me!
I. Am. Speechless
Pro life my ass
I’m sorry. How could FL elect the biggest Medicare cheat in history? What the hell is the matter with these people?
Depraved indifference to human life.
Low turn out.
How much longer do the people in Florida have to endure this monster? I hope the Dems have got somebody all lined up to wipe him out.
SON OF A BITCH
I agree 57andfemale. He is just evil. It takes the breath away. I hope I never get that senile that I would vote for a person like that. I hate tosay it, but those people in FL deserve what they get, those that voted for this pc of dung. Except all the one that voted for our great POTUS. Jovie that’s yo right.
Totally disgraceful! And these teabaggers go around bragging about how Christian they are.
Evil bastards. This needs to be plastered all over the national news.
So good to see the fired up love for our PBO. R and R has nothing!!
R&R reciting the Pledge of Allegiance Today, and His whole stump speech was making fun of the President, going line by line of the Pledge of Allegiance.
I am not kidding. That is now His stump speech-
No thanks. I’m in no mood for juvenile stunts. That man has one foot in the grave and he’s still acting like a 16 year old hoodlum. Character matters, some things never change.
Desperate. Mitt the liar Romney is getting desperate.
Will someone please tell me why Robney continue to campaign at military venues? He had a rally today at the Military Aviation Museum.
Because he has corporate media to lie for him. Many older veterans believe what they see on CNN, which by the way, is spewing the same bullshit as FOX – the President’s speech at the Convention didn’t have many specifics. I have tweeted many times about CNN’s lies. Please, if you watch CNN, STOP. They are FOX lite. FOX runs a story and the next you know CNN is repeating the same crap.
The only worry I have about the debates is the moderators and one is Candy Crowley.
I’m not worry about Candy Crowley one bit.
I stopped watching CNN sporadically about three and half years ago. I have trouble with “news journalists” who repeat the lies of the GOP without refuting them. That’s not reporting. That’s marketing. I watch Rev Al, Big Ed, Rachel Maddow, and Lawrence O’Donnell. I also watch Martin Bashir. On the weekends, I watch Up with Chris and Melissa Harris Perry. Now sometimes, I have to turn sista off because I don’t watch her show to see GOP spew.
After they maligned Ms. Sherrod by swallowing Breitbart’s edited video, I was done with CNN. They’re useless as a news organization.
I don’t watch TeaNN either.
Me either; I stopped right after the Inauguration, when John King got his new show “the State of the Union” or Nation, or whatever it was called and he interviewed Cheney who sat there and lied and lied and lied. Sunday morning, I’m getting ready for church and I hear Cheney lying and lying (I had been looking forward to the show at first); the worst part: John King sat there and just nodded his head affirmatively and did not call Cheney on anything. I turned the show off and now I cannot remember what number CNN is on my cable.
Older Veterans are 75-80% Republican!
Good question, so I just asked –
.@GOP – Why does draft-dodger .@MittRomney campaign @ military museums? This retired Marine sees right thru you! #UnfitMitt— Alycee (@jazziz2) September 09, 2012
For the same reason Michael Dukakis wore a army helmet and rode in a tank. That strategy sunk his campaign. It made him look stupid. He was trying too hard. The same will happen to Romney. He can’t say shit like “When you– when you give a speech, you don’t go through a laundry list, you talk about the things you think are important.”
That quote will sink him.
WILL ANN ROMNEY BE READY FOR THAT 4 AM CALL?
Love, just retweeted
Hahahahahahahahaha….who knows? What with Mitt hiding behind her skirt and weighing her down. Luckily, we’ll never find out because they’re not going to win the white house.
Hey fam. All the crowds were fired up and ready to go today.
I’m doing phonebanking right now for VA, and I just called a senior. She leans Republican but she supports PBO. What struck me as odd (and kinda sad) was when I asked her if she wanted to volunteer with OFA she said “hmmm no not in my area.”
“Not in my area?” I’m assuming she keeps her support for PBO on the down-low. There are probably a lot of other people like her.
Hey collegekay, I had a similar response when calling Colorado. The woman talking to me was very covert about what she was saying to me. I caught on that she didn’t want people to hear her. She did say she was interested in volunteering, so I got her e-mail address so that someone could contact her.
I’m in northern Nevada and you do not see any PBO signs. But when u talk to people, there’s overwhelming support for him. If you are not a student or young person, peeps r on the down low in supporting PBO.
That is interesting. See I’m from Maryland (deep blue) so I’m not used to that.
Also live in MD. Rarely see Romney car stickers at all.
I know this is anectdotal, but I live in Omaha, NE. Nebraska is a red state (obviously), but Omaha is 50/50. Nebraska is one of the two states that splits its electoral votes. Pres. Obama won the 2nd district (that would encompass Omaha) in 2008. After the 2010 elections, they did some “re-districting”–and, you would know why, obviously. I’ve seen several Obama bumper stickers and signs and no Romney. The one Romney sign I saw during their primaries was taken down months ago. Lee Terry is our republican congressman and has been forever, but never does anything worthwhile. He almost lost four years ago. We have a strong democratic candidate running against him this time–a brotha named John Ewing. Bob Kerry moved back here to run for the senate seat vacated by Ben Nelson. Wish us luck I think we’ve got a fightin chance. We have a democratic mayor who they tried to recall last year, but were unsuccessful (he won the recall by pretty much the same percentage vote that he won his original election by–51% to 49%). By the way, I was in Colorado over the Labor Day holiday. From what I picked up there (again, I understand it’s only anectdotal), but plenty of Obama support in Denver. However, it seemed like more Romney than Obama between Denver and Colorado Springs, and slightly more Obama support right in Colorado Springs (although still tilting a little more towards Romney there too). On our way to Colorado Springs, we stopped in this small town named Monument, Co. They were having a little festival. I saw a couple Obama bumper stickers even there. There was a Romney table at the festival and some people were carrying out Romney signs (remember, this was immediately after their convention though and before the democratic convention). There was a democrats/Obama table there too. I was wearing an Obama shirt that day and we smiled and waved at each other. I feel a kinship with Obama supporters in “red” areas.
Hey ck, I canvassed in VA today..actually we were in a purple area, with certain blocks lean Repub/strong Repub. The folks who claim to be voting for Willard can barely mention his name. They’re “voting Republican” this year. On the other hand, the Obama supporters have no trouble saying “I’m voting for Barack Obama/President Obama/Obama” this year.
LOL nobody likes Willard. I’ll be canvassing next week and the week after that.
Yeah, hopefruit, the Obama campaign is brilliantly masterful at that–pinpointing all of their voters, even in the “red” areas. I remember doing that four years ago in northwest Indiana (I was living in a southeast suburb of Chicago at the time). Haven’t been able to volunteer like that this year, but am donating as much as I can to help so that those like you doing the real hard work where it counts have the resources you need.
This election cycle is extremely nasty and many peeps have a sense could get very ugly. We have, for example, the Secretary of State of Ohio telling news reporters he will follow a federal court order to re-instate the last three days of early voting in Ohio. I was a teenager when Gov. George Wallace refused to follow the SCOTUS order to desegregate the schools in Alabama and across the nation. People in their sixties (like me), seventies, and eighties remember watching TV in horror as white people yelled racial slurs at two African American students as they attempted to enter the main doors of the University of Alabama escorted by a US attorney and federalized Alabama national guard, while Gov. Wallace tried to physically block their entry. http://www.archives.state.al.us/govs_list/schooldoor.html It seems the GOP is forcing us to relive this VERY ugly period in American history. I think this is why many people want to keep their preference for PBO on the down low.
This should read “We have, for example, the Secretary of State of Ohio telling news reporters he WILL NOT follow a federal court order to re-instate the last three days of early voting in Ohio.”
That is the way Farmington, New Mexico was during the 2008 campaign. People did not want to share who they were voting for. I living in the red/purple state of Arizona, and I am not shyabout supporting PBO.
POTUS stops by Gator's Dockside http://t.co/TG7d6v1N— Jen Psaki (@jrpsaki) September 08, 2012
Wow—some gal really took advantage of PBO appearing within her hugging distance! I keep thinking of whomever said that Romney supporters are in an arranged marriage with their candidate, and Obama supporters are IN LOVE with theirs.
It always surprises me that people just throw their arms around President Obama, even with the Secret Service on the job. They just feel that he cares.
I love this section written about PBO at Gator’s dockside.
“He goes to a huge table of ten, five kids, and one woman points to a blond boy at the opposite end and says “he was born in Hawaii.”
POTUS lights up and does some presumably Hawaii sign with his hand, which the boy returned.
Then Potus says: “You were born in Hawaii? You have a birth certificate?” The table busted out laughing.”
PBO sure seem to be having fun.
That’s a great story. I love the way he can laugh at this stuff. It’s such a healthy attitude. I tweeted the too cute to not share story.
First! Third! Twelfth! Here!
47th, VC, it looks like to me, if we are even still on this thread! Waddle and crump, so hoping to catch uo with y’all today, or tonight, I may be!
Tornadoes in freaking Brooklyn! We didn’t have those when I was growing up in NYC.
Remember, LL..there is NO global warming:) Pay no attention to that tornado in BROOKLYN!
And in L.A. we’ve had the hottest and most humid summer I can remember since we moved here in 86. Humid. In L.A. In summer. There were days when I felt like I was in, well, NYC.
Well, summer’s in AZ are always like living on the surface of the Sun…but this year, July, August, Sept have been VERY humid…and then if you throw in the 3 haboobs (love that word, not the actual thing)…it’s been a nasty mess. I want Fall. Now!
I can’t wait til autumn. Cool weather. Rain. Weekends spent watching footy. Sighs. Heaven.
I hear you! Me too!!!
Patience DF its coming. We had so much rain yesterday that there are still puddles all over. Looking forward to getting out in the evening and riding my bicycle.
No. Only in remote parts of NYC — like Staten Island.
yeah, Staten Island never counts.
HI TOD family, our Preezy was a little embarrassed with the crowd don’t you know? It is kinda cute to see that. They love them some POTUS. Long day today.
Any I am just rying to catch up from the last couple of days. probably never happen. I want to thank all of your for your prayers, Brenda was trasnferred to a rehab center today and will be there for at least a week or more. She still has no control or feeling in her left foot, they are hoping that with rehab she will get the use of that foot back. Touch and go for that. My grandkids were glad to see Mom doing well. They went to see her today and took her for a walk. I guess my Son is coming up to snuff. (terrible thing to say huh) he has disappointed me in the past, maybe this is a rude awakening for him. I love him but could really give him a boot in the hindend like I did when he was a kid and acting like a jerk. Anyway, that is what is happening on that front. (((((((hugs to you all))))))
Glad to hear things are progressing for Brenda…I must have missed the son issues…
OH, that was the first time I posted anything on him. sometimes Ihave to sit back and take a breath where he is concerned. I must have done something wrong in the bringing up dept.
Roberta – I often think that about my daughter – sometimes I think she must have belonged to someone else – but no she is mine – we do as best we can & underneath it all our values are there – sometimes hiding until needed – prayers for your DIL’s full recovery – and how lucky she is to have you nearby.
Roberta, glad to hear D-i-L is improving. You and your family continue to be in my prayers. You sound like an old school parent who’s son has departed from the ways of his teaching. Don’t beat yourself up about being frank and honest. I speak from personal experience…

Fox News contributor Elaine Chao has recently appeared on Fox Business to criticize Obama over the economy and push the falsehood that he stripped the work requirement from welfare. During these appearances, Fox didn’t disclose that Chao is a national chair of Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign. Fox News has made it a regular practice to not disclose some of its frequent guests’ ties to the Romney campaign.
In an August 2 press release announcing her appointment, Chao stated that she is “honored that Governor Mitt Romney asked me to serve as the national chair of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders for Romney” and that “it will take new leadership to put this country on a path to prosperity and full employment.”
News Corp., the parent company of Fox News, recently nominated Chao to join its Board of Directors. Chao is married to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).

THERE IS A DIFFERENCE
BY NANCEGREGGS, ON SEPTEMBER 5TH, 2012
There is a difference between questioning your opponent’s record, and questioning his citizenship.
There is a difference between presenting the facts of your opponent’s tenure in office, and presenting totally fabricated bullshit as fact.
There is a difference between leading voters to your way of thinking, and misleading them with outright lies.
There is a difference between seeing the citizenry as your fellow Americans, and seeing them as you people.
There is a difference between demanding transparency from your opponent, and claiming privilege when it comes to disclosing your own affairs.
OMG – LOVE THATSO MUCH!!!
I posted this to Dashboard…
Great Post! Thanks Ladyhawke for sharing it with us.
Had to tweet that!! Thanks LH!

ORLANDO, Fla – Now it’s President Obama’s turn to ask: Where’s the birth certificate?
At an unscheduled stop at an Orlando sports bar, Obama came across a football-watching table of five adults and five children.
One of the adult women pointed out a blond boy, Andre Wupperman of Orlando, to Obama and said, “He was born in Hawaii.”
Obama and the boy then each made the international sign for “hang loose” with one hand.
Obama then asked Wupperman, who will turn 7 years old next week, the question that was so often asked of him: “You were born in Hawaii? You have a birth certificate?”
The table laughed. The pool was led out of the bar.
Between Aug. 26-28 and Sept. 5-7, the Gallup economic confidence index rose by 17 points — from -33 to -16 — a remarkable jump in just over a week.
It’s the highest level of economic confidence in the Gallup tracker since earlier this year when jobs were growing more quickly.
The measure could be an outlier as there’s little other evidence to suggest a spike in economic confidence. But if it’s accurate, changing views on the economy could have a major impact on the election.
Oh god. At NASCAR event, fan asks Romney who his favorite driver is. He says: "I've got a lot of drivers I like."— Richard Adams (@RichardA) September 09, 2012
That has to be the 2012 version of Katie Couric asking Sarah Palin which papers she reads and she said ALL OF THEM KATIE.
Shades of Sarah Palin, “I read lots of newspapers.”
@lawalazu "all of them" was the actual reply but yes. He couldn't even remember Danica Patrick or is he so unwilling to offend?— Richard Adams (@RichardA) September 09, 2012
In other words he doesn’t know anything about NASCAR drivers. I bet you President Obama could have named at least one driver.
And even if he didn’t, before going to a NASCAR event he would make sure to find out one!
The President is always prepared. (This is why I think Robney hired his staff based on something other than experience/intelligence.)
This of course is part of the problem. No one can be expected to remember every name or place, but it shows a measure of respect, that you take the time to find out. Romney doesn’t care to learn.
This is also true for Foreign Policy, Domestic Policy, Everything about Governance. He doesn’t care enough to learn. If he were president, he would outsource everything. In the case of Military Issues, he would outsource to former Bushies.
I agree, ZL, and that’s probably what scares me the most about him. Having all those neo-con Cheney-ites right back in there, itchin’ to start up more wars all over the world in order to line their pockets (as if they’re not rich enough already).

“The end of law is not to abolish or restrain, but to preserve and enlarge freedom. For in all the states of created beings capable of law, where there is no law, there is no freedom.”
~ John Locke, physician and philosopher (1632-1704)
Democracy works because of law. When Party A wins a majority, Party B is bound to abide by the decision. They don’t have to like it but they have to abide until the next lawful election. This is why consensus works only in small groups. In larger groups, a decision can be postponed forever. It’s government by the stubbornest one in the group, not by the majority of the group.
Larry Flynt Offers $1 Million for Information on Romney’s Taxes
I tell ya what, I have family and friends I know would sell me out for a cool $1mill
I heard that the FBI is investigating the claim that someone apparently had “stolen” them from the accounting firm that does Rmoney’s taxes.
I don’t agree with Wikileaks at all, particularly when it leaks sensitive information that can compromise security or that lets our friends or foes into our secrets. But where is Wikileaks where its expertise is most needed?
I really think that is a hoax.
Price Waterhouse (where Romney’s tax records are stored) has already reported that there is no evidence of theft. Methinks this was a Karl Rove ploy to take media attention away from the DNC. That ploy clearly failed.
Yeah. I agree. It was a NIXONIAN inside job.
I agree. I think it was a headfake to gain sympathy for Romney and get people to back off. NOT THIS TIME.
Book of Mormon is AWESOME!
Yes, that’s what I heard! I want to go see it when I visit the NYC area.
Good Evening Everyone,
While I don’t write regularly, I am faithful reader of this precious blog. I am very grateful for the hard work and particularly for the awesome pictures. That being said, what a wonderful week we had! There is not a spirit that is not lifted up. I am so grateful to the First Family, its campaign, its army of volunteers, President Bill Clinton who said everything that needed to be said about the Republican obstructionists that can be found in Congress and that are now running around as presidential candidates.
We need to and will work hard in the remaining days to re-elect our dear President Obama.
Have a great weekend.
No Child Left Behind
from al giordano’s facebook page:
“Please don’t feel offended by what I am about to say, but it is the truth as I know it. Too many white people in the USA are made stupid by watching too much media. Barack Obama is like the defrocked nun, Maria Ranier, hired by the Von Trapp family in The Sound of Music, to babysit these children. And he has to teach them the Do Re Mi of “citizenship” all over again… Something he is doing generations ahead of when I thought somebody could do it… All empires in history have happened because the population got infantilized. Once in a generation comes a nanny who makes them grow up…”
11,000 Show Up for Obama in Florida While Romney Draws Hundreds in Virginia
By: Jason Easley
As 11,000 enthusiastic supporters crammed into St. Petersburg to hear President Obama, Mitt Romney spoke to gathering of several hundred Republicans in an aircraft hanger in Virginia Beach.
The Washington Post reported, “Hoping to blunt any momentum his rival has picked up in Florida since the GOP convention, Obama opened his bus trip in the Interstate 4 corridor, which cuts through the center of the the state from the Gulf Coast to the Atlantic, with a rally for 11,000 in St. Petersburg, not far from Tampa. Obama’s 30-minute speech closely tracked his nomination acceptance speech Thursday in Charlotte.”
The Virginian-Pilot had this to say about attendance at Mitt Romney’s rally, “He spoke to several hundred people who had gathered hours earlier in an aircraft hangar to hear the Republican presidential nominee.”
See the difference for yourself.
And I’m still trying to find a picture of a “crowd” at a Romney event. VP Joe draws the numbers of Mitt – if not more, and Joe’s folks look happy to be alive, happy to be seeing Joe – and we see them all. Why do Romney supporters look so damn miserable?
Romney at NASCAR today

maybe he was talking about his chaffeur?
He’s a moron.
is anybody keeping track of all the groups he’s offended during the campaign? maybe the guinness world record folks?
Will Gregory ask if the Romney’s are better off today than they were 4 years ago? If the answer is yes, then that just blew his whole campaign slogan. If no, then we certainly wouldn’t want him as an economic adviser. The truthful answer has to be yes, unless he could manage to lose money in a market that have doubled within the last four years.
Thank you for that brilliant thought cookemom. I decided to send it to Gregory:
.@davidgregory Ask Romney if he is better off today than he was four years ago. If not, he would be a terrible economic adviser. #askromney— Walking on Sunshine (@moontartan) September 09, 2012

My husband got tickets to president Obama’s town-hall event for my birthday! It starts at 2:30.. What time should we get there? Want to get
as close to the stage as i can. Any suggestions?
Maybe spend the night in a tent?
Seriously, after driving 2 hours I arrived at 8:00 in the AM for a 12:30 campaign event in 2008. Was about 5 rows back.
CONGRATS eyecandi!! Now THAT’S a Happy Birthday!! What a fantastic opportunity to be at town hall. You’re going to relish the experience.
Yes, unfortunately, it is a very, very long wait. I would be tempted to leave at the crack of dawn but there would probably already be a long line. That’s why it’s super important to bring water and something to eat.
Thanks meta, it really is the best Birthday present!
I told my husband the same thing! lol
Get there as early as possible. Several weeks ago, FLOTUS spoke at an event – Doors Opened 12:30, Event Start – 3:30; when I arrived for 9:30 am Volunteer Training, there were at least 150 in line 3 hours BEFORE the doors opened!
Thanks Alycee, I think we will get there 4 hours before doors open.
If you want to be “ON THE FRONT LINE” you need to get there as early as they will let you in. Ask your local campaign office, if you haveto. Not that I’m a pro or anything, but I’ve shaken his hand 7 times now, and I’m going for at least 8 before Nov 6, 2012. Sometimes there are different color tickets to be closer. I don’t know how your town hall event is set up. Sometimes, town halls have chairs, but don’t be surprised if they don’t.
You don’t have to be rude, but you do have to be determined and not be afraid to be ‘close up on people’ that you don’t know… Wear COMFORTABLE clothes, definitely comfortable closed-toe shoes. NO POCKETBOOK! “Minimalist” is the key word. keys, ID, some cash, charged up phone and NEW batteries in the camera (if your phone takes great pics, ditch the camera) was all I took in a ‘waistpack’ – some folks call them ‘fanny packs.’ Check the weather and find out if you can take water, but then you’ll also have to pee. sometimes they have bottled water on site (with recylce bins for the bottles!!) I’m lucky that I don’t dehydrate easily, and that all my experiences were either inside or not on blazing hot days.
GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN and remember to ‘take it all in’ It’s GREAT experience!! Don’t be surprised if you scream like a school girl if you get to shake his hand! I know I did!!
” but I’ve shaken his hand 7 times now, and I’m going for at least 8 before Nov 6, 2012.”
Bless you, ison!
oh yeah, like others have mentioned, know that IT WILL be a long wait. Easy snacks, nothing messy (like peanuts in the shells.) Usually, once you go in thru security, you can’t go back out. (Or if you leave, and only if there is still time, you will have to get in the end of the line, to go thru again. Otherwise, once they shut down Security screening, that’s it. YOU WILL NOT BE LET BACK IN. NO EXCEPTIONS) I’ve seen people crying. Security is Security. PERIOD.
Even having said all of that, people are usually very nice. I’ve waited for hours, and afterward, I didn’t care. It was SO WORTH IT!!
Paul Ryan And A Republican Paradox
September 8, 2012
By Damon Wallace
Further demonstrating Paul Ryan’s manic hypocrisy, earlier this week the Nation revealed that while voting against “Obamacare” over 30 times, Ryan requested Obamacare funds for his district in 2010. Ryan refuted the claims, insisting the funds were requested from a grant program initiated by President Bush, which also proved to be false (the funds essentially came out of Obamacare).
In addition to other examples demonstrating Paul Ryan’s hypocrisy with voting against (and later requesting) stimulus dollars, the Obamacare example exposes a Paul Ryan and Republican paradox – Spending is perfectly acceptable when it’s money allocated by a Republican like Bush, yet the same dollars are somehow toxic when associated with Obama.
Paul Ryan is the poster boy for the modern GOP, but he symbolizes all that is wrong and corrupt with the Republican Party this election: refuse to accept accountability, blame your opponent for all that is wrong, incite fear and panic, and pray that voters don’t evaluate your record, won’t notice that you are a manic hypocrite hellbent on power.
Mitt must be proud.
Arriving late – I read Jovie’s comment
“R&R reciting the Pledge of Allegiance Today, and His whole stump speech was making fun of the President, going line by line of the Pledge of Allegiance.”
The very first thing I thought of was Gabby Giffords saying the Pledge of allegiance and the hatred that generated all that has happened to Gabby and those who were with her. All that line of attack will do is make people think of GOP hatred
R&R are the leading lights in a negative campaign & if you can’t win fair – all you have left are lies.
The media would be looping criticism of PBO 24/7 if he mocked the Pledge of Allegiance like that.
All of the above AND the skill set for the positions? Set aside that little ryan is obviously unqualified to step into that job. willard has a VERY NARROW skill set he’s standing on. As a MERCENARY FINANCIER at Bain he had a VERY NARROW SKILL SET. Was he good at that narrow discipline of identifying vulnerable businesses with a chance at a future or with NO CHANCE AT A FUTURE that Bain could leech onto and suck millions? Yep! He was particulaly accomplished at that narrow speciality that provides close to ZERObenefit to our society and our nation. Governor of MA?? Other than his singular achievment that he now runs away from he was a FAILURE. He knew he would probably lose his election so he pulled out. The SLC Olyimpics? $1.3MM in federal support he lobbied for made the difference. What else? WHAT ELSE?? That’s right. Craven, shameless dishonesty and ambition.

TY Meta – that is so perfect – maybe I will learn to tweet before November – but in the meanwhile you and BobFr are my heros
Oh, thank you, 99ts. I think twitter isn’t so much a learning as it is a diving in and just swimming with the current! It’s fun if you figure out how to float.
Thanks Meta for posting this of Gabby and Debbie. I cried so hard last and with much thanksgivingseeing and hearing Gabby say the pledge. This is truly a miracle to see Gabby walk, speak, move her hands, and have that beautiful and loving smile on her beautiful face.
What a dear friend she has in Debbie and in all of of who love her so dearly. We just saw goodness come out of darkness, and hope win over fear. This is why I keep moving and doing every little effort that I can to make all of the goodness come forth from within. ((((((( We Love You, Gabby and Mark))))))))
I can still see President Barack Obama standing there by Gabby’s bedside, and now to have Gabby walk out there on that stage with her best friend, and lead us in the ‘Pledge of Allegience’ at the Nomination of President Obama’s second term for president is so Awesome, indeed. Now, this is the Miracle of Love and Strength of Love spread around for the world to behold. I am so full watching this. HZ
prez in kissimmee today’s video
Actor and former White House staffer Kal Penn is asking Obama supporters to commit to vote for President Obama using a new web tool.
“This is me asking you to commit to vote now — and to pass it on,” Penn wrote in an email to supporters.
“Since the campaign launched its new website, Commit to Vote, 93,000 people have said they’ll cast a ballot this fall,” the star of the Harold and Kumar movies wrote. “You know why? People are talking to their friends and their families, and they’re not shy about using my favorite four-letter word: Vote.”
The Obama campaign web portal Commit to Vote allows people to check their voter registration status, register and make a promise to vote. It also is integrated with Facebook.
“Don’t make me do this alone. If you think President Obama is the right guy for this job, reach out to people you know to make sure they’re registered and ready to vote,” Penn wrote.
The tool is another attempt by the campaign to organize supporters and ensure that they are properly registered and able to vote on election day. A raft of new voter ID laws and registration requirements have been enacted in dozens of states — and Democrats are worried that some of their core constituencies will not be able to vote.
I committed to vote. It’s http://www.commit.barackobama.com

If you’ve been watching Nate’s tweets, he’s become very, very bullish on PBO.
HE's BRINGIN' IT!! RT @FORUS50: Did someone over serve Nate Silver tonight? Tweeting all kinds of truths.— Jeff Gauvin (@JeffersonObama) September 09, 2012
I have been noticing the change in Nate’s tweets. He is back to the Nate we came to count on in the 2008 campaign, before he went to the NYT. I wonder what happened. Hope its real.
I just think it’s the math. He can’t spin anymore. There are lots of indicators, both statistical and anecdotal, that show that PBO has tremendous momentum right now. I think Nate sees the handwriting on the wall. A lot can happen, to be sure, but I think the very stark contrast between the RNC and the DNC was HUGE.
I agree – Nate is a stats nerd – his commentaries are rubbish since he left his blog and joined the NYT – but all the stats point to PBO winning
Obama is Apparently a Tougher Negotiator Than You Think mojo.ly/QqzzBn— Kevin Drum (@kdrum) September 09, 2012
I don’t really trust Bob Woodward.
It has been ‘obvious’ to most Obama supporters, that he got the best out of almost every deal with Rethugs. They brag about getting the upper hand-’I got 98% of what I wanted-Boehner–and the MSM goes along with every thing they say. Except, history reveals that PBO played the more complex strategy, and, even though it’s not widely reported, he won the day.
The American public is ignorant of these victories, because the MSM never does a mea culpa. People are left with the ‘first impression’ of PBO ‘caving’. MSM has very selective memory, as do many ‘liberal democrats’.
PBO has often said he is playing on 3 levels–The short, medium, and long game. Our sound-bite media can’t or won’t keep up. PBO and his Administration have always had to battle on several fronts: Republican Lies, support by the lies of Faux News, MSM misinformation and downright stupidity, Public ignorance and lack of attention, Lefty betrayal, Democrats fear and ambivalence.
All of this brings us to our awesome convention. Finally, a public platform, directly to the public, which allowed us to layout the truth, and define our party ambitions. I am still feeling the afterglow.
This same MSM refusal to re-assess, happened during the Democratic Primaries in 2008. They played up the ‘wins’ by Hillary in California, Texas, Nevada, etc. But, PBO got as many actual delegates. In California, where I live, Hillary would not have won if not for the early voting. As many as 500,000 people voted before they really knew who Obama was, and what he had to say.
Even now, they front for Faux News. They attack Dems using FauxNews and Republican talking point. It sickens me. I like to know what the opposition is say, but I can barely watch 5 minutes of CNN. They are a joke.
I agree. PBO is one of the greatest chess players of all time. In November, PBO will have both the House (300) and the Senate (65-70 Dems). PBO will win his second term by 85%. This was the same prediction I tweeted back during the GOP primaries. It has not changed. When PBO is re-elected and does his second stimulus, it will be for at least a trillion dollars. PBO will tell the newsmedia, the American people have waited long enough and the people will agree. He will be able to get all his bills passed because it will be fresh in the mind of the people how the GOP almost took the American economy and it’s culture, (e.g. federal and state attempts to repeal Roe v Wade, Obamacare, and the Voting Rights Act) over the cliff. I have no doubt PBO is also concerned about the deficit but his FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS will be getting the American peoples back to work. This is why everyone who wants a stimulus equal to the damage Bush and the GOP did needs to vote for every DEMOCRAT Representatiive and/or Senate candidate up for election or re-election. This is the most critical issue in the election. You must vote the STRAIGHT DEM slate even if you love your GOP US or state representative . You cannot vote for him or her if they are GOP because we will have a repeat of the last two years.
Zskke, I’m with the one comment that said the article from Woodward was “Way too self-serving to be believed.”
Hey @davidgregory How about surprising everyone and ask #BainMitt if he'll honor his dad's legacy and release the past 12 yr of tax returns.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) September 09, 2012

@politico: Obama heads out of the conventions w/much clearer path to winning, top Romney advisers privately concede: http://politi.co/Q6xI2F
Mocking the media can be very effective. However, you don’t necessarily mock them to their faces. Direct the comment to one of their peers (one you think has integrity). When you use the name .@davidgregory, use in the context of telling someone else what he said. They get very upset when you complain/mock them to others in the news business. You don’t give them the ‘respect’ of acknowledging them personally.
I do the same with .@MittRomney and .@PaulRyanVP. I talk about them to others, but instead of just the name, I use the tweet handle so they will know what is being said about them, but not have the satisfaction of ignoring the ‘Direct’ insult. It is very satisfying.
When I do direct mocking/questioning, I also send the tweet to their peers. I have actually gotten aggrieved responses, because they are angry someone else was brought into it. Many newspeople are very thin-skinned. Funny. This tweeting stuff is a science. I am just learning how to use it in a more effective way.
That is very educational. Thank you for sharing this.
Yes, it’s an effective approach. Perhaps you’ve noticed in many of my tweets how I include a “cc” and, be assured, much thought goes into who is selected for that cc
Yeah. Ali Velshi actually whined to me about my ‘cc’ to JohnFugelsang.

Guess what I just finish doing? One guess. Tuesday night at the Democratic Convention, listening to our First Lady speech. I can never get enough of listening to her speech. WOW!!!!!!!!!
I think I read you did this a few times earlier yes, no getting past a great speech, and hers was great (so many at that convention were). I have read PBOs acceptance speech a couple of times and told my husband who to read it in full also. He took a couple of the excerpts and tweeted them out. We’re all in this together.
I watched the whole MSNBC broadcast of the 3rd night, even though I watch C-span live when it was happening. Didn’t go to bed until 6pm the next morning.
When this video played during the convention Thursday night just before FLOTUS introduced the President, the narrator’s voice sounded so familiar to me, but I could not recall who it was… Well it just watched it again and IT CAME TO ME! It’s none other than George Clooney!
I was hoping they’d show the video that Tom Hanks narrated. The entire country needed to see that one.
in 2008, Comcast had every speech and every video, on a special On-Demand section under news & information. NO screen graphics. It was great. They even put up stuff from other years. I taped every thing I wanted. Both Conventions.
FANTASTIC VIDEO!!! Clooney is WONDERFUL!
Now genius .@MittRomney is down to polishing the word "God" on American coins. Clown question, bro.— meta (@metaquest) September 08, 2012

remember, this is the guy who dressed up in a police uniform so he could scare girls driving at night. he also likes to push children’s faces into plates of food, for a laugh. another brilliant idea of his: hose down the sick family dog, then tie him to the car roof for a long drive. ‘is this man mentally challenged?’–yes, or maybe he’s just a creep.
If any dem had done such a thing, he would have been hounded out of politics. They would have been calling for an investigation and retroactive punishment.

They always underestimate Democrats. They especially underestimate our ‘enthusiasums’. Ha Ha.

Joe gets about the same amount of People Willard does, but Willard is at the top of the ticket.
And Joe’s smiling people are much more diverse than Mitt’s group – the latter look sad and angry – no heart for their option.
Joe Biden has a wonderful smile. Julian Castro also has a beautiful smile. When they smile, it makes you smile. I loved it when the convention chanted Julian’s mother’s name ‘Rosie’. I can only imagine what she must have been feeling at that moment. It was awesome. I keep using that word, but I can’t think of another word suitable to describe that Convention.
My daughter is of the awesome generation – it is a word that has no equal – she makes me smile whenever it is used – it well suits the “Obama years” (all of them, any of them) in every possible way.

Is that for real???
Yup, it’s for real! Lamer than lame.
Unreal & incompetent – the man and his staff – Mitt is obviously running his own campaign and “you, the people” are his employees – he sure doesn’t understand that the President works for the people, rather than the reverse.
If PBO doesn’t win in a landslide, money and voter suppression will have overtaken democracy.
It sounds about right, yeah. I recall at least 7 instances in the last few months alone, so over the course of 3+ years, I can believe 17.
Oh, whoops, didn’t realize what you were asking. Yes, the sign is for real.
The measure could be an outlier as there’s little other evidence to suggest a spike in economic confidence. But if it’s accurate, changing views on the economy could have a major impact on the election.
Nate has updated the odds of PBO winning with the new polls and it is now up to 79.8%! http://fivethirtyeight.blogs.nytimes.com/

As they are wont to say, check your local listings. He’s on Face the Nation.
Is Michelle sitting by his side? Mitt acts like he can’t do anything without Ann there. I just she will keep him from sticking his foot in his mouth.
Joe Scarborough is freaking OUT.
I looked at his timeline and chuckled. He is so upset he’s trying to drive the conversation to College football to avoid talking about how bad things are.
What’s he upset about?
I never watch the Sunday shows but will make exception for PBO on FTN. I will have to read about mentalmitt ‘s interview
with Gregory as stomach not strong enough for visuals.
Where in the world do they get this aloof stuff? He is the least aloof President I’ve ever seen….he’s so cool and fun and funny and fun-loving. It’s so obvious that he loves to laugh and have fun. That dynamite smile of his is just electric and he is just so down to earth. He reminds me of my family, of people that I know. I feel like I could absolutely have a great time with him. It’s like Jon Stewart said, “there is this imaginary Obama that only they can see.” The man I see is someone I dream of meeting and is the President I have always waited for.
Alisa, he’s black. Sometimes, I really do think it’s as simple as that. They don’t see him as a ‘normal’ person, They’ve got to make something different about him. Foreign, other, elitist, etc. All different ways of pointing out the obvious. He’s black and they don’t want him in the White House.
Good Night Chips and my TOD Family. It has been a week to remember from so many levels. We are here to witness history in our nation. We are here as a family who came together in support of a wonderful human being, our president. We are here to be able to one day say to our younger family members that some of us had the opportunity to take them to see POB speak, and some even got a hug from their president.
We are here to witness the making history of another beautiful First Lady, and IMO the most giving, kind, beautiful, smart, great Mom-In-Chief, most fashionable FLOTUS along with a few others, and the most loving arms to reach out to the smallest and youngest to the oldest and most grand in stature.
I am so full because I just realized that I had the historical honor to see the first AA President of the United States who stood tall, with grace, and intellect to fight off the most hateful group of people who call themselves “Americans.” Oh, what reactions will my great nieces and great nephews have when years from now read about what their loving great auntie wrote in her journals. How will these years show them the measure of this president and the measure of their great auntie as she soaked in all of this history.
I cry with tears that are bitter and sweet because I lived long before my great nieces and nephews lived all of the bitterness that would rip their very skin off of their bodies with severe portions of poison, but yet leave them standing tall with pride to share with the next generation. That makes my heart sing.
Then I hope, pray, meditate on how we all will get through these next 58 days of anticipation of hope, love, and greatness for this president whom we all love so much. I only pray that I will be given the gift of the precious gift of life to witness seeing POB reach all that he can ever dream of being as he continues to be our 44th President of these United States. What will Michelle want him to do and be for their beautiful daughters? What will he want to be for the love of his gentle spirit of his Mother, his steadfastness of his grandparents, and his unwavering love of his sisters, Maya and Auma. What? Then there is his loving mother-in-law? What she saw in her son-in-law during his first term, and now, what will she see in him as he moves into his second term?
All of us have such expectations for POB. But wait, what does the world want to see? What will the most beautiful spirits all over this globe want to see? I only hope and pray that they will want to put on their walking shoes, hard and tough working gloves, and put their hands and feet to the plow and work for all of the little ones all across this nation who can’t yet work for themselves. Yes, our eyes and ears of hearing his “calling for our best.,” will be tremendous, but we must be ready for the call.
Then we can all move FORWARD with him to take our hearts to the most pure and just places within our souls. Let us make it happen for and with our 44th President, Barack H. Obama in his second term as our great president. HZ
