SeaCoastOnline: Folks were as optimistic as the sunny day as they left Strawbery Banke Museum after President Barack Obama’s remarks to a crowd of an estimated 6,000 people.
“You really got the feeling that this was about you,” said Jude Flynn of Kittery, Maine. …. “He needs to finish the job he began on turning around the economy,” he said. “I also agree on his principles of allowing people to make choices on marriage and other things. I feel safe with him. The other side is scary to me.”
“We definitely need to go forward with the president’s plans,” said Pat Dunnell of Manchester, who was accompanied by her husband, Bud. “I don’t want Medicare vouchers,” she said.
….. “I’m also for women’s choice,” Corinne Baker of Hampton said. “If you’re a woman, you have to vote for him.”
Lilly Ramos-Spooner of Manchester was with two friends and her 9-year-old granddaughter, Sophia Victoria Spooner. “I am so motivated right now,” she said. “There were a lot of young people surrounding us and they all said they were signing up to vote after today.”

NYT Editorial: Coming two months before Election Day, the employment report for August is a problem for President Obama…..
But properly understood, the report should not encourage voters to support Mitt Romney. That’s because boosting tepid job growth requires stimulative fiscal policy — including spending to rehire teachers and to rebuild schools, roads and other infrastructure, as well as loan modifications for underwater homeowners. Mr. Obama has proposed all of that, while Republicans have blocked such measures and the Republican agenda rejects them.
…. Worse, the Republican agenda misdiagnoses the cause of slow job growth, blaming taxes and regulation, while championing more tax cuts for the rich and deregulation of the banks and other businesses as a cure. Those policies, however, are precisely the ones that were in place as the bubble economy of the Bush years inflated, and then crashed, with disastrous consequences. They are the problem, yet they are all that Mr. Romney and his party have to offer.

Eugene Robinson: ….Coming to Charlotte, I expected to see a party on the defensive. Instead, Democrats orchestrated a convention that felt strikingly focused and spirited. Speakers relentlessly emphasized the “Reelect Obama” side of the equation, relegating “Defeat Romney” to second billing. The oratory was superior, the visuals were more telegenic and there were no Clint Eastwood moments.
…. there was a meandering quality to the Tampa convention. In large part, this was due to the decision by some of the marquee speakers to spend more time talking about themselves and their accomplishments than about Romney.
…. In Charlotte, by contrast, there has been practically no freelancing. Every speech has centered on one of two clear themes: why voting for Obama and the Democrats is right, and why voting for Romney and the Republicans is wrong. Self-indulgence and self-promotion have not been allowed.
…. And for all the talk of an “enthusiasm gap” favoring Republicans, the energy levels inside the two arenas tell a different story. It’s not that the Tampa hall lacked enthusiasm; it’s that the Charlotte hall seemed absolutely on fire…..
Conventions don’t win or lose elections, but they can help or hurt. This tale of two cities says that President Obama has had a very good couple of weeks.

Mark Warren (Esquire): …. say this for him: Joe Biden is real, right down to his plugs … The memes and the stupid conventional wisdom machine and the SNL caricatures and the subjugation of the vice presidency itself have picked Joe Biden up and carried him a great distance from who he actually is…
…. it is Biden’s most important legislative accomplishment that deserves special mention here this week, just as a campaign into which the actual words “legitimate rape” have been introduced gets underway in earnest. Because it was Crazy Joe that held the hearings, collected the data, wrote the bill, made the case, tilted hard against the Bible thumpers who said that his proposed law “promoted divorce and… hatred of men” and passed into law 1994′s Violence Against Women Act.
That law alone would signify a major career, and that law alone cleaves our political culture in two in a way that likely won’t be discussed this fall, so desperate are the Republicans to stay far away from having to explain the efforts by its vice presidential nominee to pass laws that redefine rape.
Even as Republicans in uniform chorus excoriated Todd Akin for accidentally saying what many of them believe to be true, Joe Biden’s Violence Against Women Act remains stuck in Todd Akin and Paul Ryan’s House and is today in danger of extinction …. If Senator Biden had held those hearings and written that bill today, it would not pass the radical House of Representatives.

will tweet that gn, thank you!
Bringing this over: This is excellent, and well…what we always instinctively do!
Republicans, complain all you want to about the President moving his acceptance speech Friday indoors due to storms, what the Democrats did afterwards for Charlotte is outstanding. The logistics for the event move included deciding what to do with all the food for the 65,000 people expected to be on hand, and when the event was moved, the DNC absolutely did the right thing.
All the fancy catered food intended for the VIP suites and club rooms at the stadium – and perhaps even for the president himself – was redistributed Friday to local soup kitchens and shelters, via Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.
On the menu: thousands of pounds of pecan-fried chicken, baked orzo, fresh crudités, three-bean bake, fresh-cut fruit and something called short rib cobbler.
And that’s only a partial list.
It had all been prepared in advance by chef Jon Morey and the kitchen staff of Delaware North Inc., the official food provider for the stadium. A dollar value for the food was not immediately available.
“It’s really a wonderful order,” said Kay Carter of Second Harvest, which got 7,500 pounds of the food.
“None of this food will go to waste. We contacted every shelter and soup kitchen in town and asked them how much refrigeration capacity they have and how many are they feeding. It will all be gone at the end of the day.”
Spread the word!!!
I love that.
Done. Thanks for sharing this, DF. You always bring such inspirational infomration to our family here.(((((((((((( I love you sweet loving angel))))))))))HZ
and just think…if we get president obama a democratic house and senate, those food banks won’t be needing to feed so many people as millions of more jobs are created across the country. thanks for sharing that story.
I am so proud of the DNC
That’s wonderful! I am really proud of my Democrats.

You got it!
Have fun Jovie… and the stage looks wonderful! Good job ‘building that’
It looks like – maybe – PBO’s first Florida event might start a little earlier than originally listed, CBS streaming has started. I’ve added links to the post
Anything for a Mobil phone linky?
Oh yikes Jovie, I don’t know where to find one – will the CBS ‘widget’ link not work? http://www.cbsnews.com/liveFeed/widget.shtml

Good morning Chips and everyone,
Chips, I had posted this tweet late yesterday evening:
nathkatun7, posted a very, very fine comment and I hope you consider featuring it, because it IS the message all Americans need to hear:
http://theobamadiary.com/2012/09/08/one-more-time-a-good-sport/#comment-482025
Thank you
Thank you Bob for your kind words. I especially thank you for the way you use twitter not only to champion the re-election of President but also (and more importantly) to inform people about the TRUTHS not covered by the media.
I understand that she must be nervous…but if this woman starts to say “President Romney” one more time…I will SCREAM!!
Chips,
Awesome job this week! You’ve got the bestest Obama supporting blog on the internet.
Ah now Donna, you have me blushing
Thanks a million, you’re very kind – although these sites are way better: http://www.barackobama.com/ and http://www.whitehouse.gov/
Couldn’t agree more, especially after that downer GOP convention last week — all sarcasm and unrelenting bashing of PBO, relief provided by WJ Clinton (it takes brass…).

Thanks for the heads up Chips!
My pleasure UT, mooooooooooooooooooorning!

OMG…he is gorgeous…….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m in search of a naughty mat, myself. He’s really something.
Wow there is something really sexy about his smile in that picture. He really loves being with FLOTUS. His smile is usually good but it becomes great when she is by his side.
it is because he bit that bottom lip.
POTUS is so wrong for that
Re-posting because I am just so proud of Michelle Obama, as we all are:
I did a double take at first glance at the picture. For a moment I thought that was Paul Lyin’ at the podium. I thought, “My god, even he is for the President!”

Oh good:)
I want to give a heartfelt thanks Chips and the rest of the crew here. I was resisting but you inspired me to go to the grassroot fundraising ticker meta posted in the previous post and make my donations weekly until electon.
THANK YOU so much, chitra. You’re a star donor!
I hear you Chitra, between TOD and the DNC convention I’m so fired up I can’t stand still. Lol
.Coming to Charlotte, I expected to see a party on the defensive
you’re an effing idjit, eugene.
I remember on Sundays, Jimmy The Greek used to tell us who would win the Football games and why! He was most often Wrong.
It seems, Eugene has a little -Jimmy the Greek, in Him! LOL!
He’s in that beltway bubble and they believe their own press. That Van Jones guy said the same thing. They think they know it all because they listen to these pundits and handful of emoprogs who tell them what to think. That convention was a reality check for all of them. We love our President. We never thought he would be perfect and we can see the games that the Republicans played these four years to obstruct this man. The media was complicit in not informing the public. They still are. So it makes sense that Eugene thought this. That small side of Emoprogs that the so-called progessives go and get to come on their shows all whine about things that won’t be fixed with a Romney Presidency because somehow they feel this keeps them relevant.
After seeing what they saw this week at our Convention they had better all shut up and fall in line because the reality is they don’t know jack!!!
Well said Donna! Thanks also for the wonderful work you are doing to help re-elect the President.
these billionaire-paid pundits always fill their writings with false premises like and act like those are factual statement, even when they’re supposed trying to say nice things about a democrat. i noticed this one too: “It’s not that the Tampa hall lacked enthusiasm;” uh, yes it did! big time!!! i watched mcain’s from 2008 after mittbot’s this year, and it’s laughable how different the enthusiasm was between the 2008 rnc and the 2012 rnc. night and day how much more animated the crowd was in 2008, even with mccain fumbling freakish utterances called a “speech.” they’re both on youtube if one feels the need to see the truth, and have strong stomachs.
Gotta agree, amk. On the defensive against what? It’s the Repugs who are on the defensive because they’ve got nothing but hot air and hatred to peddle. Every body at that convention was in love with our president and willing to do everything possible to elect him.
I think Jessica’s performance was when I really felt that this was going to be a great conference.
She was TERRIFFIC! (miss-spelled on purpose).
Go on, Jessica!
Romney mentions The Word MIlitary= business, no mention of The Troops = labor. Its all about the business never about the people that make up the business.
Yes…he just left out the words “industrial complex”…..troops, not so much.
BTW Chips, the last thread of O, the good sport, was ‘O’wesome.
Good Morning TOD, thanks for the very warm reception. I live in a solid blue state, so thought what difference could I make, but because of TOD I checked my local OFA office and found they are very focused on PA. I signed up. Thanks for the inspo.
Welcome and glad you have de-lurked but most of all I am grateful that you have signed on to volunteer at OFA. The campaign needs you badly so Thanks Again!!!!
Yes! Every State, has a local OFA office in your Area. They all need help for Battleground States.
Good job!
You are AWESOME.
Thank you, Rin!!! So glad that you have volunteered to focus on PA…part of the deal here at TOD is that we don’t just post our thoughts here, but we become actively involved in this campaign and moving this President and our country Forward! Thank you for stepping up and doing this….:) Welcome to TOD:)
Rin, come on down. We can use all the help we can get. WE LOVE out of town visitors!! I don’t know what state you are in, but New Yorkers roll into PA pretty frequently. We’ve had at least 2 bus loads on voter registration days of action. And that was just one section of Phila. I’m sure there were others around the city and the rest of the state.
I just heard that Rev. Al had a blueberry pie stand at the DNC. Hysterical!!
That’s too funny
Jessica killed! She can sing any type of songs! World Idol!
GAH!!!!
Guess who’s going to be on MTP with Mitt Romney?
ANN ROMNEY.
JHC, can’t he ever do anything on his own?
He seems to be so insecure, he needs her to hold his hand in tense situations. Wonder if she’ll shout “I love you women!” but again refuse to answer the question whether women should have access to birth control. Maybe a little finger pointing and jabbing would be helpful also when she warns, “You women better wake up!” Yes, they better, as they could find themselves in a nightmare world where all their health care choices have been taken away.
That is so David Gregory is Not tough, hard to do with your Wife looking you in the Eye.
Thus, expect a Lovefest, with every question aimed at the job the President is doing.
Sadly, what a Joke!
I won’t be watching because it’s to hype Robme and boost his failed campagin. David Gregory’s ratings have been in the toilet since he took over and the Bosses won’t fire him like they would fire a woman. If it was turned over to Rachel or even Chris Matthews at least the ratings would be higher only the Rethugs might not go on because they won’t be able to say whatever they want.
As a female, it’s insulting to me that he can’t even stand up for his erroneous policies instead he trots his wife out like some shiny object. How old is he? What a pathetic coward.
He is clearly insecure. Just look into his eyes when he is speaking – there is an emptiness there. Ann doesn’t help him any, IMO.
“JHC, can’t he ever do anything on his own?”
no
Chicago is gearing up for a Teachers Union Strike, with an Election 2 months away???
Brilliant!
I’m a huge union supporter but let me tell you, as a Chicagoan, it’s SOME of our public unions that give unions a bad name. If the CTU President had spent as much time actually working to improve the schools as she has crafting a message to end Rahm’s career, we might actually get somewhere. It has been despicable.
I have to agree. I am a public employee too and there are things unions are excellent at and it’s when management tramples on employees rights. I had to go to my union for that reason and I was glad they were there. I am not a teacher but I have met many and they have their students’ interest always at the forefront. I hate it when politicians focus on the “bad” teachers and not the excellent teachers.
I will say up front: We are DOOMED without unions and I support them wholeheartedly. But they have to be responsive to realities as well. I have friends and family in the Chicago teachers union, streets and sanitation, police, firefighters and librarians. all Rahm wants is a more responsive system, a little better accountability and a decent days’ work. I have a friend teaching third grade in Hyde Park — she is a model of teachers everywhere. I wish they were all like her. Hey I wish I had the courage and commitment she has. But when our schools are a disaster, the teachers union and the school board need to work more effectively together. Seriously, it’s been like watching a cheap political campaign instead of honest efforts to FIX THE SCHOOLS. my husband’s a senior citizen and I’m just a few years away (I’m 62). Our property taxes, in the housing slump, went up 50% – $1,100. $950 of that increase went to the schools. I would pay quadruple if the Chicago public schools were decent. Our schools are a mess. It’s hard for seniors to see this increase in their property taxes, hear about a new strike that is really about compensation and nothing else. Even for union-supporting me, it’s just a mess.
For mobile devices, if you have the CNN app, they are livestreaming the event there.
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE…HAVE A BLESSED AND BEAUTIFUL SATURDAY….FORWARD!
Blessings to you, dear Sue.
I think it’s too early in the morning to be on a naughty mat…but for crying out loud…the pic that meta brought here….oh my! Thank you, meta! Thank you, Chips!
I know right? That’s one sexy man!!!
Not too early for my heart to skip a beat!! OH, MY.
I’m glad I’m not the only thinking naughty mat. Between the lip biting pics and the “wet” pic, all hotness. Lol
I know!!

The internet and 24-hour news networks make it flatly impossible to say different things to different audiences. You can take a slightly different tone with different audiences, but that’s it. And even winking and nodding to insiders is dangerous. There’s simply no tacit agreement to keep this stuff private anymore, so your best bet is maintain iron self-discipline and never give anyone a peek behind the curtain. You stay on your talking points at all times and in all places.
And Barack Obama, whatever else you think about him, seems to have cast iron self-discipline. In that sense, he really does represent the future of politics. You can decide for yourself whether you like that future much.

OMG PBO riffing on his tax cuts to improve your lovelife. Someone in audience yells out “it doesnt’ help” and he picked up on it. Check it out on video later. CSPAN has them after the speeches
Tax cuts for your love life? It doesn’t help. LOL!
Oh no—please no—-my only thing Obama says that just drives me nuts—-or whenever anyone does it—–this “marrying up” business. Agghgghghghgh! I have only heard powerful men do it—-at mtgs., banquets, speeches, conventions, political or otherwise, W did it at EVERY appearance. It’s pandering and condescending and fakey sounding—-even if there is any hint of sincerity in the intention—– It’s my most hated thing.
lol it would be hard to like 100% of any person. However I would say that he is 100% sincere and not condescending because his reference to “marrying up” is about Michelle being a strong, smart woman – whereas the traditional meaning generally is about looks and money.
Whatever the reason, it’s all cringeworthy to me. I don’t think the “little woman” has to be complimented (pandered to) in that way—-in order to enhance to largesse of the man making such comments. I like men and women on equal footing, equal partnerships, no one “marrying up”. Ewwwwwww.
And I love every other tidbit about Obama.
Hey dotster, I get you totally. Only thing is, I think PBO is saying that he married ‘UP” when he married Michelle.
I’m still with you, thought. I just don’t like it. Ann Romney and her ilk definitely understand it. I think they are raised to embody the concept. Even in her video, she talked about women looking for a man to pull them ‘out of the weeds’ as if women are hopeless and helpless without a man. Utter nonsense!!
Don’t bother me when POTUS says that. The thing I get from him saying that is he has found him a special woman, a good woman and he is mighty bless to have found, and married her.
I think the same thing. When Barack Obama talks of “marrying up” it means “being the chosen” by the right woman that has ALL her priorities right. She was in TOTAL control of selecting HIM, he saw a geniune woman who was raised right and who had the same shared values and he wanted that for himself.
You know what? This is the only President I have regularly emailed at the contact on wh.gov and spoke all my thoughts concerning governing. It works. I wrote way before any news media or any topic was out there discussing what would happen to the soldiers who came home from Iraq with the job situation so bad. I got a nice email back that was different than the normal email response and it was a very short time before the jobs plan for the soldiers was announced. He probably already had all that in mind or others wrote too but I have the feeling I helped bring up an important topic that was not being discussed. Tell him how you feel. Someone reads it and notes it. It may make a difference.
I was shocked to get an email from President Obama recently generally thanking me for mine. The only email I ever sent was about the schedule that suffered for awhile with inaccuracies and incompleteness. It still comes out really late in the day but it does seem to be accurate now.
OG, Your story is absolute reassurance to me that your president speaks the truth. PBO said at the convention that it was the poeple who made change happen and what you did, writing to the WH, is exactly how change happens. No one can expect leaders to make changes unless they are committed to serving the constituents who elected them and the constituents tell the elected officials what they want.
That’s why when he said this is “OUR” presidency, that this is about “US” and has never been about HIM. I believe it because there is NOTHING that President Obama does that will benefit him personally, in fact his tax increase on the wealthy is a tax increase on HIM and he’s OK with it….that’s the kind of president I want.
I am on that naughty mat with you Meta!
It’s getting crowded. Good morning, Jackie!
That is My Hometown Crowd. See? We love Him down here. I told you!
Look at that crowd!!!!!!!!! Thank you Squarepeg!!!!!!

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think people are especially excited to see PBO after the success and energy of the Convention. Woohoo!
Excellent speech:) It never gets old for me…
Yowzer he is on Fire!! loved how he put it alll together today
I missed it – dang. How did he put it all together? Did he address Medicare and Medicade? What did Christ say in his intro?
Don’t remember exactly…..some from what he said at the convention, shorter, of course. Just know he did a super job. I hope he goes all over FL for the next two months and works his heart out for PO.
He connected the things he said in the convention speech w/ the campaign speech he’s been giving… it just flowed so nicely… yes he did talk about medicare & the vouchers Romney plans.
Crist’s intro was short, & more about the character of POTUS, his good nature, his decency.. I rather liked it. I’m suspicious of repubs generally, but I get a good feeling about Crist’s loyalty to President Obama. We’ll see how he is down the long road.
Thanks, both.
you’re welcome pickle
also whats nice is when he talks to the audience members.. in this case a soldier shouted thank you when POTUS talked about bringing home the troops.. & POTUS yelled back – you’re welcome, thank you for serving.. it was a lovely exchange and off the cuff. I like when folks speak out from the crowds – respectfully- and he responds to them.. because it’s clear he’s not just trying to get the speech out, he’s having an exchange with us. I love him even more for that.
They shared another good hug. I think PBO is looking for ways to leverage Crist and I’m sure Crist is all too happy to comply. He must be running for Gov in the next election as a Democrat.
I was thinking, there might be a possibility of a place in the administration? its the vibe I was getting.
Not sure of his reputation in Florida but he is clearly leaning toward being a Democrat. Hopefully not another Blue Dog.
yes we need to keep our eye on him. Maybe another Ray LaHood type.
Tampa Democratic mayor slammed him as a fake. Also got slammed by the GOP. There is an expectation by them that he wants to run for governor again. Political games can get complicated. I’m just grateful that he is out there publicly saying good things about President Obama.
Interesting. I was thinking exactly that!
he sounds sincere in his loyalty… I like how he called POTUS “my President” during his dnc speech.. and today in his intro: “our President”. that makes me pay attn to him – we’ll see how he pans out.
I agree sherijr. He seems like a pragmatic politician, not an ideologue. He took flack for taking stimulus money when he was Gov. of Florida. He will help PBO in Florida, imho.
When Crist was the GOP Governor of FL and met PBO when he came to FL respectfully he was cast out of his party. He was demeaned and lost his support due to his favorable treatment of PBO.
MSNBainC does not give us any updates in what the President is doing, instead they are talking about Prisons.
It seems, MSNBainC is obsessed with Prisons.
Really, I’ve never understood why the majority of MSNBC’s weekend schedule is devoted to prison shows.
Finding shows to fill the hours and getting sponsor support is difficult. They are still building. Remember when it was mostly Chris M. and Keith and blah news. Anyway, the folk who produce the documentary about prisons have an important message to share with someone else. As they fill the time slots with more capable news folks I think we will see less and less of the prison documentaries.
Actually they covered a good chunk of Pres. Obama’s speech. So your statement is half wrong.
Hmmmm….
Wow !
As if there were ever any real doubt.
I think after the 2010 election and prior to the recent POTUS executive order on failed Dream Act, his support for gay marriage and a dead bin Laden it might have been possible but very, very difficult to get those who are not the base to turn out.
I’m hoping it’s 2008 in every respect, including House and Senate.
I hope so too – am worried that Elizabeth Warren and Claire McCaskill are struggling as well as a few others. Both of them need to up their game but I’m not sure how they can. I think Pelosi and Reid are going to need Obamaa’s coattails to be there again for their weak incumbents and candidates.
Just took a baby and Pete was snapping away. Hope we get to see that pic.
The old saying: you can’t judge a book by its cover… couldn’t be more true when seeing the folks that support POTUS. I watch those people waiting to shake his hand, hug him… and some of them I would never in a million years suspect they support President Obama. I tear up everytime I watch the end of his speeches and all the many people that wait to give him a hug, wish him well- tell him thank you. I would be so honored to shake his hand some day & thank him.
The excitement of all those thrusting out their hands, anxious for a touch and a glimpse of this great man is palpable everywhere he goes. His sheer magnetism is without any match.
yes! I just think most of know greatness & goodness when we see it/ hear it. This is why others try so hard to diminish him- & will never be successful.
I have been noticing change in Steve Schmidt, the GOP pundit on MSNBC. He was the campaign manager of the McCain campaign and co-author of Game Change. i think he is embarrassed he gave us Sarah Palin. He is quiet and respectful responding when asked like an older version of Republicans. He compliments PBO’s speeches and says he does not agree with what Romney’s campaign has done from time to time. Wonder if he is rethinking his party affiliation? I, of course no longer trust Republicans so time will tell about him.
Others I still dislike (trying to not use the term hate). I really put Ron Christie at the top of my list for despising. I hate when Chris Matthews gives him uncontested time to spew his talking points.
Interesting on Schmidt… he certainly needs some humility after shoving Palin onto us.. we’ll see how these folks behave when POTUS gets a mandate
Hi, I could not agree with you more. Just a minor correction Game Change was written by John Heilemann and Mark Halperin. While it is true Halperin is a right-wing jerk, he is not Schmidt.
I agree! As much as they talk about the over 55 white male group being his weakest supporters, there will be millions and millions of them voting for Obama in 2012!
absolutely. The thing is many people do not share their politics.. but they do vote.. and they often show up to listen to the politicians- in order to make a decision. We’ll see how it all pans out, but I think some in this country may be in for a huge surprise come election night.
I love it when I hear men shout out, WE LOVE YOU!
I do too, I always think, how bold that is, how honest.. and what is so nice is that POTUS responds back with a resounding “I love you back”.
The town hall debate on Oct. 16 in Hempstead NY will focus on both domestic/foreign issues with questions from a Gallup-selected audience of undecideds.

VP Biden is LIVE NOW in Zanesville, Ohio.
http://edition.cnn.com/video/flashLive/live.html?stream=stream4
I am posting these kinds of media pushback tweets, not to raise our collective blood pressure but to publically call the GOP media enablers out:
President Obama is about to make history a second time, I can feel it in the air. His re-election to the highest political position in the land as an African-American, the first President to get re-elected despite unemployment figures, and the first President to be elected despite millions of dollars being spent against him. Bottomline, God doesn’t like ugly and Republicans are truly reaping what they unjustly sow.
THIS. He is extraordinary in many, many ways and the history of his presidency will be without equal.
Spot on!
FTW
Love that Tally, retweeted.
Absolutely brilliant, Tally.
One of your best EVER. Retweeted, of course.
From a pic I ran into on the interwebs. Just had to share.
They need to do an ad about this meeting from 1-20-2009
Attending the dinner were House members Eric Cantor, Jeb Hensarling, Pete Hoekstra, Dan Lungren, Kevin McCarthy, Paul Ryan and Pete Sessions. From the Senate were Tom Coburn, Bob Corker, Jim DeMint, John Ensign and Jon Kyl. Others present were former House Speaker and future – and failed – presidential candidate Newt Gingrich and the Republican strategist Frank Luntz, who organised the dinner and sent out the invitations.

CBS’s hiring of Luntz is very disturbing.
whoa, CBS hired Luntz? when please?
It was reported a couple days ago…. ( I think it is short term )

thank you for the link Linda
I agree….very disturbing. I also agree that an ad needs to run NATIONWIDE about Jan. 20, 2009 meeting. HOW to get that suggestion to the campaign? Tweet, you folks who do. I love, love that idea.
I sent them a suggestion back in July to do ads showing Americans getting refund checks from their insurance companies……but never received a response.

That Obama 2012 – Romney 1954 cartoon is perfect in every way, including Mitt’s flip-flops.

Hell to the effing yes!
Think of how the money spent to try to buy the election could instead offset the deficit and help create infrastructure jobs.
Joe doing what he does best.. talking up close & personal w/ teachers right now.. he’s a great connector w/ folks I think.
OT-DANGER-DANGER. I urge everyone to look at this vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYpj6_C1j-M&feature=related
This needs to be promulgated eveywhere.
I watched a few minutes. Don’t have time to finish now, but WILL go back and watch it.
…….he took too long to make point that they tried to steal the 2008 elections and they’re gonna try to STEAL this one too.

Guess Which President Has Been Best for Stocks? [Let's just cut the suspense... it's PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA! That's right!!]
http://www.cnbc.com/id/48940520
The U.S. economy may not be recovering as fast as President Obama likes, but at least he can make one claim: The stock market has done better under his watch than with any other recent president. Since Obama’s inauguration on Jan. 20 2009, all three major U.S. stock indexes are up more than 60 percent… [snip]
…Even so, the market has performed better during Obama’s 43 1/2 months in office than in any of the five prior administrations. In fact, the S&P 500 has outperformed most of the major world indexes during his presidency.
—————————-
S&P 500 Performance During (President’s) First 43.5 Months (graphic in the article)
Barack Obama 68%
George W. Bush -17%
Bill Clinton 51%
George H.W. Bush 45%
Ronald Reagan 23%
Jimmy Carter 20%
Fantastic. Tweeted.
why the fuck isn’t the campaign tom-toming this ?
Let’s tweet it to them.
Paging Tweetanator BobFr.
Double edged sword! World events are a major influence of the stock market that PBO has no control over. The stock market can plummet unexpectantly without warning.

52-42 Approval on gallup tracking today — is that better than yesterday?
His disapproval rating dropped by 1 point. But he gained another point in his overall lead, 49-45. The bounce continues. Forward!
I’m hoping the MSM efforts about his speech and the jobs numbers don’t undo this momentum.
I remember reading somewhere yesterday that for the last decade, all Augusts suck and I THINK I read that this August was the best in a decade but I can’t find where I read that and won’t tweet it unless I’m sure I read it correctly.
To Eugene Robinson…indeed great leaders inspire their followers to rise to the occasion not fall. I expected nothing less from the DNC convention.
All tweeters—–Tweet this and tweet it some more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azatvvRHsLY. You may want to have tissue ready. Let me know if any of you have seen this. It showed up on my FB.
Beautiful
Hi Dudette, how did your Thursday turn out? Did I miss your comment?
Thanks. I only know how to do the link. Appreciate your doing this.
This family shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the levers of power. they are despicable:

wow. you’d think they support a free market, profit-making enterprise to exploit that land. guess not when it’s in their backyard though, huh.
Guess what I get to do on today??? See a little play by Matt & Trey.
Book of Mormon?!
Holy schmoly, the tickets are crazy expensive.
Got a deal with AmEx – and it’s a preview today. They don’t open until the 12th
