    Evening guys.

I spent half today in bed and the other half cleaning the house. I never had a chance to so “summer” cleaning since I’ve been back and forth travelling every other week, so I finally just bit the bullet and got to cleaning. So I guess you can call this “fall” cleaning. Let’s see how long I can keep it clean…LOL.

Hope everyone had a nice day today.

Lamb35, I do hope that your day turned out to be a very good one. Taking the rest first is important. Now that you have accomplished some of the “summer” “fall” cleaning, relax, rest for sure, and enjoy the beauty of the fruits of your labor.

I was down physically with some heavy-duty gut pain yesterday along with some personaly painful thoughts about the ugly games that are being played against out POTUS, and a beautiful, sweet and lovingspirit within our TOD Family gave me some uplifting words to hold dear to my heart.. It gave me so much hope after hearing those words.

We have so much work to do, and so we must keep lifting each other up daily. Today was a better day. I had some business to take care of via phone today, and the young lady and I had a great conversation about why vote for POB. It was wonderful. We must remember that we can be used in such a positive manner no matter where we are in our life. I am moving FORWARD.

I love this beautiful haven which I call my second home.((((((((((((((( I love you all so much))))))))))HZ

    Putin ‘Grateful’ To Romney

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday said he was “grateful” to Mitt Romney for saying Russia remained the United States’ “No. 1 geopolitical foe” because the remark actually helped Putin in missile defense negotiations, reports ABC News:

“I’m grateful to him (Romney) for formulating his stance so clearly because he has once again proven the correctness of our approach to missile defense problems,” Putin told reporters, according to the Russian news agency RIA Novosti.

“The most important thing for us is that even if he doesn’t win now, he or a person with similar views may come to power in four years. We must take that into consideration while dealing with security issues for a long perspective,” he said, speaking after a meeting with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, according to Interfax news agency.

NeoCon Puppet Boy/Stenographer Byron Tau writes

… “Former Vice President Dick Cheney took aim at President Obama’s national security record in a late Monday statement.

“If President Obama were participating in his intelligence briefings on a regular basis then perhaps he would understand why people are so offended at his efforts to take sole credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden,” Cheney told the Daily Caller in a statement.

A conservative group reported that Obama did not hold a daily intelligence briefing more than 50 percent of the time — prompting accusations that he is not taking national security seriously. White House press secretary Jay Carney called the report “hilarious” and noted that Obama is briefed every day either by memo or in person.

Cheney went on to say that the military and intelligence community deserve credit for bin Laden’s death.

“Those who deserve the credit are the men and women in our military and intelligence communities who worked for many years to track him down. They are the ones who deserve the thanks of a grateful nation,” Cheney said… “

      • September 11, 2012 at 8:15 pm

So, when his new heart gives out, hopefully he’ll die before being able to get a replacement. Yeah, said that, don’t care.

Cheney pulls stunts like this in an effort to make people forget that 9/11 happened on HIS watch. His comment about PBO not reading daily security briefings is pure deflection of Bush and Co. ignoring the “Bin Laden is determined to strike in the U.S.” memo in 2001. Republicans love to deflect their weaknesses and deficiencies onto their opponents. Nobody is falling for his crap.

How do I get this message to Dick Cheney? Mr. Cheney, you will probably never ever see the inside of the White House again in your life (which I hope is not too long, it is true) so you don’t know what goes on inside it or on AF1 or Camp David, do you? Our President, President Barack Obama probably reads and really heeds intelligence reports, unlike you who chose to ignore them and go on vacation and shoot someone in the face. So please sit down, rest your ailing hearts and shut up because we have work to do to repair the damages you caused. Sincerely, not a fan of yours.

It’s interesting that Cheney and Bush attended THEIR intelligence briefings religiously and DAILY, had ‘the men and women in our military and intelligence communities who worked for many years to track him down.’ and yet THEY were not able to give the men and women credit for locating bin Laden under their watch.

Here’s what the President REALLY said:
Tonight, we give thanks to the countless intelligence and counterterrorism professionals who’ve worked tirelessly to achieve this outcome. The American people do not see their work, nor know their names. But tonight, they feel the satisfaction of their work and the result of their pursuit of justice.

We give thanks for the men who carried out this operation, for they exemplify the professionalism, patriotism, and unparalleled courage of those who serve our country. And they are part of a generation that has borne the heaviest share of the burden since that September day.

Finally, let me say to the families who lost loved ones on 9/11 that we have never forgotten your loss, nor wavered in our commitment to see that we do whatever it takes to prevent another attack on our shores.

And tonight, let us think back to the sense of unity that prevailed on 9/11. I know that it has, at times, frayed. Yet today’s achievement is a testament to the greatness of our country and the determination of the American people.

I love how our brilliant President refuses to walk into Netanyahu’s trap. Bibi has already cozied up to Romney and now he wants to meet with POTUS so he can have a presser and express his disappointment and have Romney jump on the bandwagon. No, PBO isn’t playing.

    • 53 hopefruit2
      September 11, 2012 at 8:22 pm

As someone said earlier, they’re trying to create a distraction for PBO and a distraction from Romney’s dismal performance during the Presidential debates. But like all the other dirty tricks they’ve tried, and plan on trying, this attempt will fail, and backfire. Just like the Eastwood-empty chair routine.

Bibi and Romney had better be careful what they wish for…

      • September 11, 2012 at 8:28 pm

It is absolutely horrifying to even think of Mitt Romney on the world stage. He’s like a bull in a china shop. It’s one gaffe after another. I have never seen a campaign so incompetent and devoid of a moral compass. On top of that, they just seem to be making it up as they go along. Anyone watching the performance of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan on the Sunday shows this weekend should be very alarmed. All we get from Mitt Romney is word salads. Soundbites and canned talking points dispensed in no particular order. I watched Paul Ryan talking loud and saying nothing. I was astonished that Norah O’Donnell actually challenged his outlandish claims in real time. I got a headache listening to his doublespeak. Paul Ryan is not qualified to be a vp candidate. He is just an overrated numbers cruncher with a six pack and a devotion to Ayn Rand. OFA has demolished Mitt Romney’s resume. Bain is toxic. His time as governor of MA is an embarrassment. And running the Olympics is not the same as running a country. smdh

HF, this is their stupid effort to create a gaffe on the president’s part that will change the conversation. Remember that was their goal for September? They still don’t know who they’re running against because they’ve been deluded into thinking it’s the imaginary Obama of their dreams. The real president is so many light years smarter than they are, he leaves them in the dust.

Agree Kathryn, there’s something so dark and malevolent about Cheney that you can almost smell the sulfur when you see and hear him. He may have got a new ticker, but he’s still heartless SOB. And by the way, no other man his age would ever have been given a new heart–ever. His getting that heart meant that someone younger and with a chance at a productive life lost his or her turn. I find that infuriating.

  18. September 11, 2012 at 8:23 pm

UPDATE: In an email, OFA spokesman Adam Fetcher confirmed that the Obama campaign is going on the air in Wisconsin and argued that they’ve laid the groundwork to contest the state:

“For the past year and a half, we’ve built an aggressive organization across the state to ensure Wisconsin votes for President Obama in November.  Now that the Romney campaign has gone on the air – in addition to its super PAC allies – we are adding broadcast advertising to our campaign efforts in the state.  This is another opportunity to have a conversation with the people of Wisconsin about the crystal clear choice in this election between President Obama’s plans to grow the economy from the middle class out and the Romney-Ryan plan to return to the failed top down economic theories that created the economic mess in the first place.  We continue to believe that ultimately this contest will be won or lost on the ground – which is why we’ve built an extraordinary grassroots campaign across Wisconsin that will ensure neighbors are talking to neighbors about President Obama’s bold leadership and vision for the future in the closing weeks of this campaign.”

the rethugs never liked robmey, but they’re stuck with him for now. (see below–rlyin is starting to run ads in an attempt to retain his house seat.)

What planet does the 5% of democrats who think Mitt will have upper hand in debate against PBO live on? I think Mitt will have a breakdown during the debates and will exhibit some bizarre/childish behavior. Ann won’t be there to hold his hand and he will be confronted with his many flip flops and he will crack. He doesn’t handle being challenged very well. Did you see the clip of his debate with Teddy Kennedy, I know PBO has.

these are the folks robme and his buddies would represent and promote:

‘ Globalization has concentrated economic power within a group of large companies who are now able to change the world at a scale historically reserved for nations. Just 1,000 businesses are responsible for half of the total market value of the world’s more than 60,000 publicly traded companies. They virtually control the global economy.

This vast concentration of influence should be the starting point for any strategy of institutional change toward a sustainable society. ‘
    ~
‘ Major investors are also a powerful constituency demanding change. Wealth is even more concentrated within asset management than it is among companies. The top 500 fund managers have over $42 trillion in assets under management. The top 10 fund managers account for one-third of this amount; the top 50 for two-thirds. ‘

    not rumblings, music !

‘ As indicated by the rumblings, Team Romney is now trying to avoid discussing the possibility of panic. But the sense is unmistakable on the right that the Presidency is slipping away. Indeed, Paul Ryan is starting to run television ads to keep his current House seat. ‘

      “THE TRUTH MATTERS”

      Chronicling Mitt’s Mendacity, Vol. XXXIII

      By Steve Benen

      ——————————–

First Lady Michelle Obama delivered a beautiful speech at the Democratic National Convention this week, which was very well received. There were a few phrases in particular, though, that seemed to strike a chord.

Referencing her and President Obama’s families, she said, almost in passing, “We learned about honesty and integrity — that the truth matters, that you don’t take shortcuts or play by your own set of rules, and success doesn’t count unless you earn it fair and square.”

Those three words — “the truth matters” — drew a hearty response. In context, the First Lady wasn’t going after anyone in particular, and she didn’t accuse anyone, even indirectly, of dishonesty. But I suspect people applauded not just because it’s worthwhile maxim, but because this year, it seems clear there are some who believe the truth doesn’t matter.

Consider, for example, the 33rd installment of my weekly series, chronicling Mitt’s mendacity. This week’s list is considerably shorter than usual because Mitt Romney spent several days out of the public eye, preparing for next month’s debates. It does not include the media availability he did this morning (I haven’t seen the transcript yet).

I just HAD TO POST this twitter conversation in my timeline. I nearly choked upon reading that Jennifer Rubin, an even bigger delusional hack than Mark Halperin and Peggy Noonan combined, is going TO DO THE MATH! Yes, Jennifer, we can’t wait for the “math”.

Greg Sargent :Voters taking far more nuanced view of economy/Obama presidency than Romney camp wants,

ByronYork :Key to Obama victory in your analysis is hope voters have ‘downgraded their expectations’ about pres performance on econ, no?

Greg Sargent ‏:if Romney loses (he very well may win) I think it will be b/c they developed too simplistic view of how voters see economy/Obama

ByronYork: Bottom line: If voters lower their standards, Obama wins. If they don’t, Romney wins. Right?

Greg Sargent :You assume voters automatically decide Romney has the answers to their problems. Why this assumption? (serious question)

Jennifer Rubin ‏(Psycho Romney Flack): key is % of people who think Obama policies are wrong, it is not just a matter of time .. More later

Greg Sargent :the vast majority of those voters already in Romney camp. the key is what is motivating the tiny group of true undecideds

Jennifer Rubin: I will do a post with the math – it explains content of Obama DNC speech as well

Greg Sargent : two other numbers: 63% say Romney hasn’t detailed plans and 57% say economy wouldn’t be better today if Romney had been prez

    Jennifer Rubin ‏:stay tuned!

Fox News To Issue Correction For Misleading ‘Fox & Friends’ Graphic On Unemployment

    ———————————–

Fox News will air a correction for a misleading graphic that appeared on Tuesday’s “Fox & Friends,” Mediaite reported.

The program ran into some mathematical difficulty when it threw up a graphic about changes in the unemployment rate during President Obama’s tenure.

Liberal watchdog Media Matters noticed a discrepancy in the figures:

The stupidity of the Republicans: they keep assuming that Voters will turn to them cuz of slowed economic growth. Do they even consider the fact the same voters might develop that logic FURTHER and also ask WHICH party’s actions led to the recession? As Pres. Obama says GOP count on selective amnesia.

You cannot decode for people where their thinking should start and end. If you want people to determine causality for their current non-optimal situation, they are going to trace said causes to their logical root. Very simple.

Yet wingnuts want voters to weave a drunkard’s path to the polling booth to vote for them?

from paul krugman, who describes robmey’s plans another strong word, like ‘lie’–‘fraud':

‘ Hmm. So even on the right, people are complaining that Romney isn’t providing enough details about his plans. And I’ve spoken to journalists who are sure that Romney will be forced to say more before Election Day.

No he won’t. He might lose for lack of detail, but no detail will be provided, for a very simple reason: his proposals don’t add up.
    ~
Another way of saying this, of course, is that his alleged budget plan is actually a fraud. ‘

paul ryan’s competition in the congressional race is ron zerban–let’s give him some love!

  45. September 11, 2012 at 11:46 pm

We noted recently that the latest PPP poll of New Hampshire showed libertarian candidate Gary Johnson taking 7 percent of the vote, and the new numbers from the Democratic polling firm out of Arizona show something similar.

In Arizona, Johnson gets 9 percent of the vote, compared with 45 percent for Mitt Romney and 41 percent for President Obama. Another 6 percent are undecided. In a straight head-to-head, the state is less in play than Democrats had hoped, with Romney getting 50 percent to Obama’s 43 percent.

    But, PPP pollsters note:

One thing that could make the race more competitive in Arizona, perhaps more so than other states, is Gary Johnson’s presence on the ballot as the Libertarian candidate.  He pulls 9% in Arizona and he takes a lot more support away from Romney than he does Obama, narrowing Romney’s lead in the state to 45-41. History suggests it’s quite unlikely Johnson would really pull 9% in the end but it shows how many voters are unhappy with their main choices in this race.

That last point can’t be ignored — in a close race in which voters are not in love with either of the main candidates, what if a number of people decide to go for Door No. 3?

      September 11, 2012 at 11:54 pm

i read recently that johnson is pushing to get his name on the ballot in all 50 states. we think of him as running to the right of robmey, and therefore pulling votes from the rethugs, but i lived in new mexico when he was governor, and his appeal is more general. he’s an avid outdoorsman, and he’s pro marijuana legalization. so he appeals to some young voters, who might otherwise see pbo as their candidate. except are folks who are out camping and smoking pot really going to vote?

what’s the chance jones and his buddy bacile are being encouraged and funded by the rethug machine?

‘ U.S. pastor Terry Jones, who had inflamed anger in the Muslim world in 2010 with plans to burn the Koran, said he had promoted “Innocence of Muslims”, which U.S. media said was produced by an Israeli-American property developer; but clips of another film called “Mohammad, Prophet of Muslims”, had been circulating for weeks before the protest.

That film portrayed Mohammad as a fool, a philanderer and a religious fake. In one clip posted on YouTube Mohammad was shown in a sexual act with a woman.

Jones, a pastor in Florida whose latest stunt fell on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, triggered riots in Afghanistan in 2010 with his threat to burn the Koran. ‘

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/09/12/us-libya-usa-attack-idUSBRE88B0EI20120912

‘ An Israeli filmmaker based in California went into hiding Tuesday after his movie attacking Islam’s prophet Muhammad sparked angry assaults by ultra-conservative Muslims on U.S. missions in Egypt and Libya, where one American was killed.

Speaking by phone from an undisclosed location, writer and director Sam Bacile remained defiant, saying Islam is a cancer and that the 56-year-old intended his film to be a provocative political statement condemning the religion. ‘

Mitt Romney and his team are the scum of the earth. Before the attacks took place, the State Dept. released a statement condemning the movie. At no point did Pres. Obama ever apologize on behalf of the protesters before and after the attacks had taken place but what does Mitt Romney do? His campaign releases a disgusting statement politically attacking Pres. Obama on 9/11. They sent this crass statement to the media and requested the statement be embargoed until 12:01AM on 9/12.

“I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi,” Romney said in the statement. “It’s disgraceful that the Obama Administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”

They then requested the media release the statement on 9/11 and the Obama campaign replied back at like 12:01AM. For a presidential candidate to use the death of an American ambassador killed in a violent attack to launch a crude, vile attack on Pres. Obama on 9/11 says a lot about that person as a human being. Mitt Romney has no character and no moral values. This is beyond the pale.

Pres. Obama has released a statement on the death of the ambassador and the violent attacks.

I strongly condemn the outrageous attack on our diplomatic facility in Benghazi, which took the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. Right now, the American people have the families of those we lost in our thoughts and prayers. They exemplified America’s commitment to freedom, justice, and partnership with nations and people around the globe, and stand in stark contrast to those who callously took their lives.
I have directed my Administration to provide all necessary resources to support the security of our personnel in Libya, and to increase security at our diplomatic posts around the globe. While the United States rejects efforts to denigrate the religious beliefs of others, we must all unequivocally oppose the kind of senseless violence that took the lives of these public servants.
On a personal note, Chris was a courageous and exemplary representative of the United States. Throughout the Libyan revolution, he selflessly served our country and the Libyan people at our mission in Benghazi. As Ambassador in Tripoli, he has supported Libya’s transition to democracy. His legacy will endure wherever human beings reach for liberty and justice. I am profoundly grateful for his service to my Administration, and deeply saddened by this loss.
The brave Americans we lost represent the extraordinary service and sacrifices that our civilians make every day around the globe. As we stand united with their families, let us now redouble our own efforts to carry their work forward.
