Analysis: This Just In, Romney is Trending…Downward

    BY MICHAEL WOLFE

    ————————-

But when you look at Romney, you can see him working. Working so very hard to come across as a leader. You can see him weighing the advice of his handlers who have, over the course of the last year, pushed him further to the right and further outside his comfort zone; presumably because that is the only way Republicans could possibly stomach him.

Look at him. And listen to him. You can see him forcefully and unnaturally pandering to the religious right even though he is an abashed Mormon who, previously in his political career, defended abortion rights. You can see him coughing out a poorly executed joke about Obama’s birth certificate in a desperate plea for Tea Party Birther affection.

Look closely and you can see him struggling to portray himself as a normal guy every time he sings in public or clumsily negotiates a rope line.
You can see and feel him working so hard to sound like he is relatable and that he genuinely cares about the middle class. But he fails miserably at accomplishing this every time he claims that earning $375,00 a year in speaking fees is ‘not much money’ or that people earning $250,000 a year are part of the middle class

I looked up the definition of “sedition” and this seems to fit in perfectly.

From Wiki: “In law, sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that is deemed by the legal authority to tend toward insurrection against the established order. Sedition often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent (or resistance) to lawful authority. Sedition may include any commotion, though not aimed at direct and open violence against the laws. Seditious words in writing are seditious libel. A seditionist is one who engages in or promotes the interests of sedition.”

          And

“Sedition laws somewhat equate to terrorism and public order law”.

So Mitt’s put out some video of PBO making a remark 14 years ago. MSNBC is not airing it, cause they haven’t confirmed its authenticity. Evidently, Jay Carney addressed it today as PBO referring to governmental agencies that were not as efficient as they should be. LeBolt said it was a feeble attempt by Mitt to resurrect an issue that was tried and didn’t work already. I haven’t seen, nor heard the video, but if Mitt has to reach 14 years into the past to get a dig in, then stay tuned for some Rev Wright.

This came out last night. I saw the video. PBO is consistent in his belief that government can give people a hand up. He believes in some redistribution. Republicans believe in redistribution as well just in the upward direction.

PBO is consistent in his beliefs unlike Romney who changes depending on who the audience is.

I can see that as well. Last evening during my tired and painful session with my body, I was trying to replenish my soul’s well, so I decided to watch some videos that would put me in a very presidential mode.

As I was choosing, I ran into some very interesting ones on our beautiful SOS, Hillary R. Clinton. It was so uplifting to see her in motion and to see the grind that her security team goes through in order to protect her every move. What can I say, but POTUS knew what he was doing when he asked her to come on his team as SOS. She also should always , in fact, POB’s entire Cabinet) be in our thoughts, prayers, and meditative moments.

I can see her as one of the SCOTUS for sure, if that is where she wants to be.However, I can see her resting for a year and then pulling off the first female president. I wish her the very best. She is and
has been very great serving as POB’s SOS. They are a team.HZ

As expected? Not sure I agree with that but GREAT NEWS from Lyin’ Ryan’s state:

    • 36 cookemom
      September 19, 2012 at 1:40 pm

I think it was very expected that PBO would carry Wisc. It became a false talking point of uncertainty when Ryan was added to the ticket. Now Ryan will be lucky to hang onto his House seat. If he does, it’s because the Dem is not as well known. Ryan has never won a statewide office in Wisc. and there’s a reason he feels he has to campaign for his House seat there, while running for VP.

      • 37 forus50
        September 19, 2012 at 1:47 pm

Yeah I thought POTUS would win it too but the “as expected” stmt seemed to refer to the huge lead. Maybe he meant “still leading as expected”.

      • 39 theo67
        September 19, 2012 at 4:12 pm

        • 40 cookemom
          September 19, 2012 at 4:44 pm

I’m referring to those who vote name recognition or lean republican. You know, those folks in Wisc who helped keep Walker in place. Not all of them were RWNJ, rather status quo type voters. They may vote Ryan just because. Let’s just hope that’s not the case.

Theo67, I was thinking some of the same thoughts. I also notice that she looks very elegant in a very fashionable way when she is in the presence of the president, especially being the hostess of the evening here. I also thinks that having her lovely baby girl has given her that lovely ” motherly special look.”

I have so much respect for Jay-Z after reading his beautiful book, “Decoded.” He is a very bright young man with a great business mind. I like this couple in this photo and what can I say about that tall handsome brilliant man, I think it is the 44th President of the United States, President Barack Obama.!

Oh hell, we did a great job and will do even greater as we re-elect him in Nov. 2012. Great things will be happening as I am sure they did at this FR last evening. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Carter.HZ

President Obama has an 8-point lead over Mitt Romney among likely voters, bolstered by renewed Democratic enthusiasm in the wake of the Democratic National Convention, according to a new poll from the Pew Research Center.

“At this stage in the campaign, Barack Obama is in a strong position compared with past victorious presidential candidates,” said Pew President Andrew Kohut. “Obama holds a bigger September lead than the last three candidates who went on to win in November, including Obama four years ago. In elections since 1988, only Bill Clinton, in 1992 and 1996, entered the fall with a larger advantage.”

Obama leads Romney 51 percent to 43 percent. A poll from NBC News and the Wall Street Journal released Tuesday night showed a 5-point Obama advantage.

WASHINGTON — The Justice Department’s internal watchdog is faulting the agency for misguided strategies, errors in judgment and management failures during a bungled gun-trafficking probe in Arizona that resulted in hundreds of weapons turning up at crime scenes in the U.S. and Mexico.

In a 471-page report, Inspector General Michael Horowitz referred over a dozen people for possible disciplinary action for their roles in Operation Fast and Furious. The report did not criticize Attorney General Eric Holder.

The report found no evidence that Holder was informed about the operation before Jan. 31, 2011, or that the attorney general was told about the controversial gun-walking tactic employed by the department’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

In other good news, oil is plimmeting. Down over 4% today alone. Gas prices should start going down. If this continues, Noveember 6 looks even better. On the not so good side, Congress left town without renewing the wind energy tax credit (well the Senate did with Republicans favoring it) which is already resulting in layoffs.

The House really sucks and we need to pick up at least 25 seats and preferably 30.

    • September 19, 2012 at 3:12 pm

Japa, I am more than confident that we’ll hold the Senate — maybe even pick up a net of 1 seat — and retake the House. Then we can start to undo the policies of 40 years of conservative dominance.

      • 82 japa21
        September 19, 2012 at 3:18 pm

I agree with you on the Senate. The GOP shot itself in the foot again in some states (MO, IN) and what should have been easy wins (with one a pickup for them) now looks like a possible pickup for the Dems. Plus Warren is pulling ahead in MA which would be a pickup, Baldwin is pulling ahead in WI, which would be a hold the GOP thought it was going to win, Tester leads in MT 9though barely), so the Senate does look good.
If the elections were held today, I doubt the Dems would win the 25 seats necessary. But again the trends are going the Dems way, so I expect somewhere between 25-35 pickups.

The House hasn’t done themselves any favors, because the stuff they left undone is all stuff that will help the “white, working class” voters. Veterans. Farmers. Energy workers. Jobs Bill. And they are only back after the election. It’s a pretty stupid move, and hopefully, the Democrats will be able to capitalize on the do-nothing Congress. I heard Ezra Klein saying that this is the earliest recess in an election years in decades. Only eight days worked in September. Lame duck should be interesting – given the fiscal cliff is just around the corner and all their defense contractors will be quivering – along with the rich muckety-mucks.

Romney’s 47% Rant is Direct Attack on His Own Base

    BY KAREN Y.

    ——————————-

The states with the fewest filers having no tax liability are mostly those that support President Obama. In other words, Obama supporters are the least likely to be counted among the group that Mitt Romney so callously disdains. In his fundraising rant, Romney ostensibly flipped the bird at the very people he hopes will vote for him on November 6th. As Ezra Klein points out “Mitt Romney will probably get 95 electoral votes from moocher states; President Obama will probably get 5.”

In line with a comment up above, the Dem candidate;s internal polling in IN shows a major pickup opportunity as Donnelly (D) is leading Mourdock (TP) by 3. PBO is down, but only by 6 and Romney is at 47%, not at the 50% he will need to be. If you have extra bucks, think about Donelly as an option. http://hotlineoncall.nationaljournal.com/archives/2012/09/donnelly-mourdo-1.php
