Reflector.com: First lady Michelle Obama electrified a crowd of 6,000 supporters on Wednesday with the message that every vote will count on Nov. 6.
Obama urged the audience in a 30-minute speech at Minges Coliseum to get family and friends to vote and to visit gottavote.com to register. Her visit was part of a campaign swing through Greenville and Durham.
“This election will be even closer than the last one. It could all come down to what happens in a few key battleground states like North Carolina,” Obama said.

Since Mittens said in that video that The View would not be a could place for him to go because of the 4 “sharp tongued women,” The President and First Lady will be on The View on Tuesday. The show will be pre-taped on Monday. I love it! Mitt walked right into that. He is a coward and wimp, and we don’t need anybody like that as CIC.

One thing they didn’t say about what Mitt said, was that he singled out Whoopi by name, who in the past had told him his respected him for his healthcare plan in Mass. I don’t know why The View felt it necessary to omit that part of his quote. He purposely singled her out and they should have let everyone know that he did so. They also didn’t say anything about her response to what he said. I wish they would have rallied around Whoopi in her absence, instead of just letting it stand.

I heard the quote about Whoopi on MSNBC, but as you say I don’t know why they omitted that yesterday. I was upset with how even Barbara Walters said that it was “true” that 47% of people do not pay taxes. I am glad PBO will be there to set the record straight. He puts EH in her place everytime but in a respectful manner.
The media has successfully spun Willard’s claim that the 47% who “don’t pay taxes” (including the military, who are legally exempted from paying taxes while earning combat pay putting their lives at risk on the battlefield) are comprised totally of those who support President Obama. Even if that entire statement were true (and it’s totally untrue) – would that mean that the 47% don’t deserve to be protected or have clean air or chances at education and jobs? Willard said that Obama supporters are those people who don’t pay taxes, and so he doesn’t care about them because they don’t care about themselves. Period.
Plus theo67, the part that hit my heart so deeply was thinking about the military when Mitt said that. In her interview with Access, FLOTUS said she told POTUS when she found out that the first debate was going to be on October the 3rd, she said at least they will be together.

i never understood all the respect he gets. he’s collecting data that others gather, puts it through some formulas he comes up with, and people act like he’s nostradamus. don’t his predictions change daily as different polls come in? he’s supposed success rates are based on his reports the night before elections, right? the real skill is taking poll data, knowledge of human behavior, and experience with politics to be able to make predictions months or years in advance. what good does it do for him to be saying 75% chance today, and then a totally different percent a month from now and so on because different poll numbers come in? he and his famous “model” seem like a computerized windsock to me.

The only thing I like him for is that he weighs the polls based on their bias and reliablity history so consistently accurate polling companies are given most weight. And his focus is on the electoral math versus the national polls (or at least it used to be – it seems this year he gives a lot of commentary on the national polling).
i don’t see how what does is a worthwhile predictor for anything more than a day or two in advance, since his predictions are changing everyday as the data changes each day.
And the Repubs were disputing that big poll yesterday as an outlier. Huh!! This is really good and the President is going there on Saturday to put the proverbial nail in the coffin. Yeah Baby!!!!

Well, my profuse apology from one of the 47% which I posted on TPV has been one of my most popular posts. (In Blogger’s dashboard, you can see how many page views your post has received.) And my tweet about the two shades of Mitt filled up my TL with some rather hilarious responses.
I always had both an inkling and a hope that as the election season wore on, the GOP would become so assinine that eventually it would be subjected to the ridicule it deserves. This was before I was on Twitter. Now that I’m on social media, I’m seeing my hopes and suspicions come true. The MSM can be counted on to cover for Willard; we can be counted on to call out their bullshit and subject the GOP to the withering scorn it deserves.

Accepting the VP nod may have been Ryan’s worst political decision yet. That’s right up there with sitting in the front row at PBO’s invitation while getting himself reamed a new one.
He’s accomplished two thing in his entire time in Congress – a post office and a thing for bows and arrows. What can he possibly advise to the other folks in Congress? It’s ridiculous!

First Lady Michelle Obama recently sat down with “Access Hollywood” to talk about the upcoming presidential debates and her husband President Barack Obama’s bromance with President Bill Clinton.
“I know that Barack stays in close communication with all the former presidents and Bill Clinton has been an important advisor, friend and supporter for a very long time, so I guess it was the public display of the bromance,” says Michelle, in reference to the embrace the men shared at the Democratic National Convention.
Coming up for the Obamas during the 2012 presidential election are three televised debates between President Obama and Governor Mitt Romney.The first one, taking place Oct. 3 in Denver, Colo., happens to fall on the Obamas 20th anniversary.
“All I said was at least we’ll be together,” jokes Michelle, after she found out the date for the debate. “I’m going to make him write it on his hand — ‘Love you honey’ so that when he waves, it makes I love you honey.”
The First Lady also tells “Access” that one of the most important aspects of the election coming down the stretch is the youth vote.
“Young people are always the key to many elections and I try to tell them it’s not just about this election, but its making young people – putting them in the habit of engaging in the political process because this is really their future,” says Michelle. “So we’re always pushing, go to vote.com, making sure they go there, they’re registered and getting involved.”

As someone said, “the GOP is the party of no taxes, but complain about 47% not paying any.”
Let’s also remember the Earned Income Tax Credit is the ONLY way welfare-to-work actually succeeds.
It’s some high school graduate mom with a special needs kids working two jobs who is a ‘slacker’ because she gets an earned income tax credit and maybe some counseling and care for her kid? ALL of her meager salary goes right back into the economy.
What kind of monsters ARE these people? And what kind of country has almost half of its voters voting for these guys?
My gut feeling lately is that they have totally bailed on the U.S. They are using the Bain model: take what little is still viable and divvy up the spoils and go invest in the Chinese middle class, where there won’t be pesky environmental or labor laws. It’s despicable.

The pro-President Obama super PAC Priorities USA Action is out with a polling memo on data that was taken ahead of the release of Mitt Romney’s secretly-recorded comments from a fundraiser about 47 percent of American, which suggest he already had a baseline issue with middle class voters.

Even before the release this week of Mitt Romney’s comments dismissing 47% of Americans as dependent and lacking in personal responsibility, voters already understood that Romney is badly out of touch with the reality of average people’s lives and that he can’t be trusted to look out for the interests of middle class Americans who work hard and play by the rules. Recent polling conducted just this week by Global Strategy Group and Garin-Hart-Yang Research group on behalf of Priorities USA Action in the battleground states of Ohio and Iowa find that:
Voters believe that President Obama is – by far – the candidate who will protect the middle class.
