Drat.
Congrats df!
Thanks, TD…I know that “drat” feeling:)
Congrats DF!
Good for you df. I was beginning to think certain ppl had a corner on the market.
Go df!!!
1?
Congratulations TD, on your tie with df for first place.
Yay, TD!!
Yea!!! My lunchtime surprise…1st! Can’t wait to get home and really see what I’ve missed all day!
FOURTH!
I think we will look back on the day that the 47% tape was released and know that this was the moment that Romney lost any chance of winning in 2012.
Mitt Romney’s ’47%’ comment alienated undecided voters: poll
{Snip}
“Mitt Romney’s semantic misadventure with the “47%” helped alienate some of the narrow band of undecided voters whom the Republican needs to beat President Obama in November. That’s the single strongest sentiment registered this week by previously undecided voters interviewed by the Los Angeles Times.”
http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-pn-mitt-romneys-47-percent-poll-20120925,0,5822326.story
I hope so – he needs to be crushed, badly.
Hi donna just made a donation so you can keep your streak alive
Thank you so much chitra!!!
I sure hope so!! Those comments seriously get me angrier and angrier the more I think about them. My poor dog is sick of me having imaginary conversations where I completely tell Romney off lool
My poor little 8 year old yorkie, Pearl, who we rescued from being a breeder at a puppy mill, runs under the chair or the sofa when I start yelling at the TV. Poor little thing. But I tell her, we take our politics seriously in our house.
LOL!
Freaking awesome. Expect this on a TV close to you. The other 47% ad has been running everywhere especially in swing states and now this. Romney just makes it too easy.
Not first, but a respectable fifth or sixth. Congratulations df on # 1
RT’ed.
Ditto!
BOOM.
BAM
Done and posted on Facebook.
What if the Obama Team only makes ads, regarding what Robney said about the 47%?
OFA must have focus groups that says this is powerful.
That is all!
Have you guys heard of this?

Someone must confront #BainMitt with the IRS Amnesty question …

I am trying to figure out what PBO mught have told him. Something like, “You better get your sh_t together or we are out of there a lot earlier than Summer of 2014.”
That would be music to my ears.
Yup. The President’s eyes look pretty fierce here, and there is probably a reason why Michelle is standing off in the distance a little.Looks intense.
She does kinda have that “…ooooooo, you in trou-blllle!” look on her face, doesn’t she? Tee-hee!
And Karzai saying, “Not yet please. I haven’t stashed enough cash yet. I plan to leave when you do.”
Oooooo…wouldn’t you looove to be a fly on this wall?
Wait..wait….I’ve seen what Pres. Obama does to flies so ummm….never mind.
Let’s harken back to watch our Ninja President at work, shall we?
Karzai is a lame duck…he cannot run again….I think his term ends in 2014.
But but but Chuck Todd said no Meetings with Heads of State and he also met with Yemeni President and…
…and people weren’t walking over broken glass to hear the President…
I thought POTUS didn’t meet with any leaders.
He actually met with many of them at the dinner last night. There were just no bilateral meetings. No photo-ops.
So I usually leave politics at the door with my more conservative co-workers, but one of them I consider a friend if not a good one and for that reason, I try to never talk politics with her. but she posted the following to FB this weekend and I was just made aware of it:
Like I said, I tend to dust if off my shoulder, but when this was brought to my attention, I admit, it pissed me off to no end and I had to respond, so this is what I wrote on my FB page, and made sure it can be seen by all my friends (I usually filter who sees my more political stuff and this person is one who I filter so that she doesn’t see my political post):
Too much???
You know, I live in Canada. When single-payer health coverage started (in Saskatchewan, where it began) the doctors went on strike. The government brought in doctors from the UK and the USA. After about three weeks, the doctors gave in. Here in BC, we have some of the best doctors in the world. They make a nice living, which no one begrudges them. The medical centers across Canada are doing cutting-edge research. (Remember that when you read about research coming out of a university in Toronto, Montreal, etc.)
Now, our system here isn’t perfect, but it’s SO MUCH BETTER for the average person than it is in the US. Yes, if you’re rich you can get AAA+ care at the bigger hospitals in New York and Los Angeles. But the average person struggles.
Break a leg, have appendicitis or a six-day migraine, but lack insurance — well, welcome to the nightmare that millions of Americans face. Universal medical coverage is a human right that virtually every industrialized country in the world — except the USA — recognizes.
Food, shelter, medical care — are our fellow humans so devalued that we can’t provide these for everyone? (I know where R&R stand on this. I know where the President does, too.)
My goddaughter is a surgical resident. She is also ex-military and she’s been all around the world. She maintains that this crazy system of medical training in this country DISCOURAGES good people from becoming doctors because of the costs and limits their choices as to where they would practice, due to the pressing need of paying back exorbitant med school loans. She says this is particularly true of women, who would be happy to make a little less money but be able to practice good primary care medicine. But they either forego the career entirely due to crushing debt, or choose other disciplines where they will make more money in order to pay back their loans.
We do not have a system in this country that supports and encourages adequate access to health care. If the gov’t. provided medical school in return for a certain number of years in rural clinics, for example, we could provide decent care to all Americans.
Actually, Obamacare offers this very same deal. Do a certain amount of time in rural or remote clinics, and receive some incentives. It also provides incentives for established medical professionals working together to improve healthcare opportunities and collaboration for rural based communities. So things are moving in the right direction.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/docs/the_aca_helps_rural_america.pdf
Of course they are moving in the right direction. ACA was a huge step in the right direction, to be built upon in the coming years. That the whiny left couldn’t see that in 2010 is astounding. Here we are in 2012, the party is in full-throated support of this amazing achievement, and Dem’s are doing well.
Perfect, lamh35. Whining endlessly seems to have become the style of conservatives lately. Even her doctor is whining. There are thousands of people who are eager to enter the health care profession because they actually care about people and there are many thousands of doctors and nurses across the country who give their jobs everything they have. If some doctors choose to drop out because they’re not making enough money, then they were in the wrong profession in the first place. Greed and selfishness are unbecoming traits for everyone, no matter what profession you’re in. I’d like to know what religions profess the creed of “I got mine, the hell with you”? You were good to keep your temper about this.
Seems about right to me, Lamh.
The entire Republican argument comes down to one thing: “I’ve got mine and eff the rest of you. Don’t come after my stuff.”
Good job. Bravo.
Sounds great to me!
Good response. The free market will quickly replace those greedy doctors with people who are in the profession for the right reason. Some of these right wingers act like the system was perfect before Obamacare. The fact is, it’s not just the unemployed who will benefit from Obamacare – and this is one area that I think needs more selling. There is greater security for ALL Americans, because they can’t be dropped by their insurance company after they’ve received treatment, and they can change jobs knowing that there will be some form of insurance available to them. The premiums everyone pays will be better spent on actual health care – and not just big bonuses for those bigwigs at the top.
There are some people who begrudge anyone else from getting something – because they think it diminishes the pie for everyone else. And yet, greater health security actually makes a more secure overall community. If someone is going without health care, it makes the whole of society less productive because of unplanned and unanticipated (but preventable) illness, more prone to spread diseases to unsuspecting populations, and perhaps less able to live up to the full potential of the whole. It’s called community. It’s called civilization.
This was an excellent rebuttal. I will put it aside, in case I need to use it myself.
This is the real Mitt–so utterly full of himself, so tied to money as the measure of his success. If I had a family member or friend who spoke with this level of arrogance, I would actually pity him. Since it’s Mitt, I feel revulsion at the way he exposes his absolute shallowness as a human being and feels no shame.
Who’s going to tell Mitt years later he’s still a BOY in spirit, enviously eyeing what the less fortunate children have and planning to take it away, despite all HE already has?
Just when I thought the guy couldn’t possibly be more douche-y….
Perfect video! I love future member of President Obama cabinet Governor Strickland. I love seeing the middle class taking the lead in this campaign, it brings tears to my eyes.
Chips!! Gotta see this! Romney admits PBO hasn’t raised taxes in the last 4 years! Behind him, Ryan is like WHAT?!
http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2012/09/25/908591/oops-romney-says-obama-did-not-raise-taxes-in-his-first-four-years/
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! RWNJ’s heads explode in 3..2..1..Is Willard an Obama plant?
hmmm… not a bad theory, as conspiracies go
But it truly is too darn funny!
Oh dear, more input for the DemRapidResponse team. On top of that, Mitt Romney has the weirdest voice inflections. He always seems to put the wrong emPHAsis on the wrong syLLAble. Notice how he ends the segment with emphasis that just seems odd and misplaced. What a train wreck.
Never forget that @MittRomney invested in exactly the type of slave labor factory that our President righteously condemned today …
And, that #BainMitt showed just how aware of the conditions he was and still invested …
Never forget …
#OutPerform1936
Yes We Must
That’s right Bob. And BainMitt can’t lie his way out of that one.
And, we won’t let him, hf!
Since Will.i.am was in the CGI audience today (and per one of Chips neat tweets was not at all enthused by #BainMitt’s comments), thought it worthwhile to share this with him, just in case he didn’t make the connection ….
Am sure it is not lost on any of you that President Obama was looking straight at #BainMitt today when he was discussing his policies regarding sanctions and other penalties for any corporation that treats workers as slaves, and we know for a fact that #BainMitt not only profited from such a company, but that that Chinese factory benefited from his being an outsourcing pioneer.
#FORWARD
I loved the part during PBO’s speech at the UN where he said people say awful things about him everday and he will always protect their right to say it. That was wdonderful. :’)
That was such a noble thing to say. Many people were moved by that statement.
Yes, squarepeg, I really choked up at that.
Agree, squarepeg – and we all know, by his actions, he means it!
Hey TOD have you seen this? BWAHAHAHA. Paul Ryan’s expression is like WTF?!?!? KA-CHING. I am so tweeting this to Lis Smith of OFA.
I am so tweeting this to Lis Smith of OFA.
Thanks for posting this hopefruit! It is well worth reading, http://www.gallup.com/poll/157673/americans-trust-government-handling-problems.aspx , and to me is the best “poll” regarding PBO’s reelection chances.

Actual scientific study at Duke University: Dominance, Politics, and Physiology: Voters’ Testosterone Changes on the Night of the 2008 United States Presidential Election
And the study found that men who voted for McCain / Palin had a 28% loss of testosterone on election night.
The results were clear-cut. Men who had voted for McCain – or the libertarian candidate Robert Barr – experienced a 28 per cent loss of testosterone almost as soon as the contest was over. LaBar notes that levels of testosterone, produced by both male and female gonads but in much larger amounts in men, are directly linked to important masculine behaviors such as “aggression, risk-taking and response to threats”.
Apparently the male GOP and Barr voters reported feelings of “unhappiness” and “submissiveness” following the crushing defeat of their chosen national leaders.

That is just fantastic.
My daughter is one of the 900! Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow.
Any word on the executive order brought up at the Clinton Global Initiative?
*If* the U.S. Government is no longer going to be buying from companies that use forced or child labor *anywhere* in their *supply*chains*… then the implications of that action are just staggering — probably further reaching than many casual observers will anticipate.
U.S. Federal contracts are *huge.* For many American companies, they’re your biggest and most important and most reliable source of income, and the foundation you build everything on, if you’re fortunate enough to secure one in the first place. You certainly don’t put those at risk. And even companies for whom the government is a less critical customer have no incentive to lose them as a revenue stream, potentially permanently.
If *supply*chains* are now open to Federal scrutiny, then we’ve just vastly expanded the number of inspectors. Yes, there’s the government itself. But more to the point, there’s every company that either supplies the U.S. Government or directly or indirectly supplies a supplier…
Those companies — *if* supply chains are now being examined — now have an enormous vested interest in examining everyone in their chain and making certain that no one is *in* chains, literally or figuratively.
To simplify, remember Friedman’s oft-stated remark that losing your place in the supply chain is like pouring concrete down an oil well. Once you’ve sealed the well or been kicked off the chain, your asset is gone. Suppliers will not be inclined to ever trust you again, because failures place *their* entire operations at risk.
If this is the situation we’re in, companies in the chain will be looking at each other.. *and* at their competitors, because if you can show evidence of trafficking or questionable abuses, you may be able to undermine a rival and seize market share.
This could not only hammer human traffickers, it could impact worker rights throughout the world.
Can you use prison labor now? Raw materials supplied by prison labor? Parts from a factory where the workers are locked in or work under inhumane conditions? *Anything* supplied by child workers?
Excellent analysis, Ralph. I had no idea of the far-reaching consequences of this executive order. This is a very, very big deal.
To give an example of what might be impacted…
Remember that factory Mitt Romney described, where he was told that they had fences up to keep people *out* rather than *in*?
Well, for the sake of the argument, say such factories actually exist. Can you afford to get *anything* from a place like that if it *looks* like a likely violator, even if it genuinely *isn’t*?
Because — forget the U.S. Government, who might inspect you openly, listen to reason, examine evidence, etc — the people you are supplying may drop you in a heartbeat to avoid even a hint of trouble… if not from the Feds directly, then from the people *they* supply, who may be just as touchy.
And there’s no way to really stop these supplier inspections once they get started, since you want your customers to be happy and you certainly don’t want them to think you’re hiding something that could be deadly to their enterprises.
From Yahoo…
“The order defines human trafficking according to the U.S. State Department’s , which basically describes it it as inducing or obtaining people to perform labor or sex through coercion, force, or fraud, “for the purpose of subjection to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery.” Under the new order, companies working for the U.S. government will have to comply with a series of basic conduct requirements. Those include prohibitions against using misleading ads about the nature, location, and payment of the work offered; charging employment fees; and destroying, confiscating, or otherwise denying access to identification documents. It also requires contractors to pay return transportation costs for employees traveling to take expatriate jobs, provide housing where appropriate, and to make themselves available to inspectors. And it prohibits contractors from engaging in “procurement of commercial sex acts, or the use of forced labor in the performance of the contract or subcontract.”"
I find that bit at the end “…the use of forced labor in the performance of the contract or subcontract…” to be most interesting.
In terms of the “subcontract” I guess we’ll have to see just how far down the supply chain this applies in theory… and in practice.
(You can thank Jovie for the link.)
Can’t say it enough… My President is AWESOME!!!
Oooooops – Honest Willard!
ROMNEY: His idea now. He’s got one new, one new idea. I admit this, he has one thing he did not do in his first four years, said he’s going to do in his next four years, which is to raise taxes. And is there anybody who thinks that raising taxes will help grow the economy?
http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2012/09/25/908591/oops-romney-says-obama-did-not-raise-taxes-in-his-first-four-years/
He also said PBO will continue to do what he’s done before…….? Could that be “not raise taxes?”. Somebody save this joker before he strangles himself.
Why? Plus in trying to save him you might get charged with his strangulation. In his case I say stand clear and let him do his worse…. to himself. Isn’t that part of FREEDOM?
Paul Ryan’s expression is priceless.
Obama’s fault!
DAMN IT! Look at Pres. Obama being competent once again and making voters show trust in government.
He’s a lotta damn nerve doing his job well and all. Harumph!! [lips pursed and pouty]
He’s got a lotta damn nerve…
I know. How dare he. Hmph.
The irony is Romeny’s 47% remark will do down in the history book.
Per Hardball daily tracking has PBO is up 4 pts in Fla. and 8 pts in Ohio. Also 84% Dems believe no WMDs in Iraq 15% says there were. The opposite for Repubs. That’s why facts just isn’t enough when trying to talk to some of these folks. It has to be geared toward allaying fears.
Well a good portion of these people believe Bush kept us safe.
My 2nd post on facebook was the following:
Both responses were just wonderful, especially this one. You made it more personal. I think that always help with those “on the fence”. Those who are pure Obama haters….well, nothing gets through to them.
This is a great response. You have a lot to be proud of – you’re clearly living the American dream and despite not realizing the dream of becoming a doctor, you still have a caring heart. that counts for a lot!
That is so cool!
Does he realize that they already are in charge of those decisions. In fact, by having private insurance companies involved, he would probably be reducing the ability of seniors to be in charge of making their own decisions.
That was what the whole “end of life counseling” was about in ACA, to let seniors have more say. Unfortunately, the GOP decided seniors shouldn’t be allowed to know thekir alternatives.
Yup – I just tweeted a similar response.
What????
Honestly Dotster, this is the greatest comedy show of my lifetime.
It gets ‘ridiculouser’ and ‘ridiculouser’.
It does, Dotster!
Honestly, I just can’t.
Who knew there can be worse than Sarah Palin??? Incompetent buffoons, vas!

Well, they got the HO right!
This campaign is reaching new heights of ridiculousness.
ROH O? A secret message from Seamus?
looks like somebody is saying, ‘ I ‘ want no part of this baloney. ‘ I ‘ want out of here right now!
Pathetic Romney tries to lead a “Romney/Ryan” chant—–crowd not inspired. Em–bar–ras—ing!

Still a few weeks before the election and they are campaigning TOGETHER ? They’re afraid Romney alone won’t attract enough people and the comparison with President Obama’s big crowds will be embarrassing ha ha ha !!
I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: “O Lord make my enemies ridiculous.” And God granted it.
- Voltaire
Romney is creepy.
Another insult…
I can’t find the post that included this link, but H/T to that poster. I had to share this line from Roger Simon’s article on Paul Ryan breaking out and showing “the glitz, the glamour, the razzle-dazzle that he was supposed to bring to the campaign in the first place”:
“He did a PowerPoint presentation for the crowd….A word about PowerPoint. PowerPoint was released by Microsoft in 1990 as a way to euthanize cattle using a method less cruel than hitting them over the head with iron mallets. After PETA successfully argued in court that PowerPoint actually was more cruel than iron mallets, the program was adopted by corporations for slide show presentations.

Obama pollster mocks Romney campaign ‘fantasy’
By MAGGIE HABERMAN | 9/25/12 5:10 PM
In a blunt interview with Greg Sargent, President Obama’s pollster Joel Benenson mocked the Mitt Romney campaign’s contention that the race is within the margin of error in part because the modeling, as the Republican’s team says, is skewed toward a 2008 model that won’t be duplicated this time:
Hi ho TODers.
Well, I made it to work to do my Story Time. (If you had told me 4 years ago that I’d be doing Story Time and LOVING IT I would have asked for whatever shroom you were on.) But that was pretty much it for me. I conduct a very energetic performance, and that pretty much wiped me out. If I’d stayed at work I’d be on the reference desk in about 5 minutes, and I’m in no shape to hand out any sort of information to an unsuspecting public.
I see Obama is still stellar and the GOP is still full of venal yahoos. Glad to see nothing much has changed.
I’ll check in later for more fun and frivolity. Spousal unit is picking up El Pollo Loco so that I don’t have to cook. Keep a candle out for me.
Damn I miss El Pollo Loco!!!

That there Sully feller is trying to make me like him…
Sully has his weird moments but he’s actually been a supporter of the President more often than not. I actually prefer him to those so called “progressives”, emoprogs like Chris Hayes or Ezra Klein. He’s a realist.
I’m late to the commenting, but I got to sit and watch the President’s U.N. speech this afternoon on CSpan. I am in awe of him. In the midst of his campaign, interviews, TV appearances, governing, dealing with international incidents, calming uproars Mitt Romney has stirred up, he delivers a powerful, passionate, wise speech to the World! He has a respectful audience, some tough cases, I know, but polite. He gave everyone a lot to think about, and some powerful goals to work toward.
How wonderful to be proud of our president when he addresses the U.N.! Remember how we all CRINGED when GWB got anywhere near an interntional organization!!!!
I heard the end of The Cycle today (waiting for Martin) and heard S.E. Cupp give the most thoughtless and disgusting rant against the U.N. I have heard since John Birch days. Really, she should not be let out alone! A petulant, ideologic screed. She needs to study some history.
On another topic…..my husband wants a Vets for Obama bumper sticker. Our OFA office here is never open, so I decided to go to the Obama store. When I started searching for veterans bumper stickers, it became “cafepress”…..and there were also Romney stickers available. Is this the right place to shop? Does anyone have the exact URL so I go to the right place? Thanks in advance.
Here ya go!

Sweet! If I were in LA, I’d bust the door down to get in there.
Megan McCain is just pathetic….she is trying to push National Polls and saying Mitt was ” taken out of context ” on the secret tape.
I feel sorry for her….
oh Geesh now she is speed talking , oh dear.
Thank God for the person who invented the mute button. Megan McCain cannot tell me anything. I refuse to listen to anything she has to say.
If he was “taken out of context”, then why did he embrace the comments and their sentiments, only declaring that he was “inelegant” in his phrasing, but insisting that he meant every word? They may be idiots, but they think the rest of us are idiots, too.
Meghan McCain made me the maddest when she got bitchy with Rev Al for trying to get her past her talking points. She said something like What do you expect from me…. That made me so mad I am thinking of asking Rev Al to not use her on his show if she is going to be so disrespectful.
If ever there was proof that union workers are more skilled than some non union labor – football

My brother is a diehard Seattle Seahawks fan and his take is quite different on the winning touchdown. I don’t follow or care about football myself. All I heard today on the radio was about this game and even on the political shows it was a main topic.
OMG – FLOTUS on The View. After PBO would make a good statement, she says “I’m voting for him.” Then she starts clapping, hilarious. http://abc.go.com/watch/the-view/SH559080/VD55234339/the-view-925
What a nice family——the Romneys. Like father, like son.
http://current.com/groups/news-blog/93911721_tagg-romney-blocks-hospice-from-being-built.htm
The slimey bastard!
I’ve had a loved one in a hospice – the most loving, caring staff – this is how you know who cares about people – and it isn’t anyone called Romney.
talk about ‘you people’–the robmey clan is disgusting in top to bottom.
What a disgusting human being that Romney spawn is. Does anybody in that family have a heart? What kind of family values are these?
I saw that. What a lovely gift. I can’t think of a more appropriate gift for a daughter. Geez. These people have a sick, obsessive relationship with their guns. What is it? Scared? Insecure? It’s a mental disorder, imho. Someone failed them somewhere along the way.
That is just beyond disgusting – the rifle + the 10 year old girl + Christmas + “practicing.” SICK.
What a gift! Sad, IMO. Probably will soon be taking her hunting with him, if he hasn’t already. Sure hope she has the emotional maturity to handle it.
Tweet to Lis Smith, DOJ!
Done! Good idea!
So, the Robney Team is basically saying they at not worried being down in Ohio by 8, their internal polls have it within the MOE.
They site, obamas base is not going to show up, or will have problems?
To which, Obama pollster said, BS. We are showing up, you are living in a fantasy.
LOL!
I hope it is not due to voting suppression or voting machine fraud that he is not worried.
Their is still no excuse why Floridians should not vote! This is upsetting, we will just have to work harder.
That is all.
They should appeal to the US Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit. I would not accept this bogus decision. That cuts almost half of the early voting time.

Hi Everyone,
Crazy day at the office but just watched the UN speech – just wonderful. The Only Adult In The Room.
On a trivial note; 2as POTUS playing basketball yesterday? Looks like he got an elbow right below the left eye.
Since when did Clinton become the boss of the Democratic party according to Tweety? My mute button is going on.

Well lookey here. Looks like Romney’s latest gaffe is getting some traction.
VANDALIA, Ohio — Mitt Romney said Tuesday that President Obama did not raise taxes during his first term, contradicting a constant attack he has leveled on Obama — that his healthcare plan was a tax increase.
“I admit this, he has one thing he did not do in his first four years — he’s said he’s going to do in the next four years — which is to raise taxes. And is there anyone who thinks raising taxes will help grow the economy? No!” Romney told thousands gathered at a chilly tarmac rally. “His plan is to continue what he’s done before. The status quo has not worked. We cannot afford four more years of Barack Obama. We’re not going to have four more years of Barack Obama.”
Romney made the statement during the kickoff of a four-city, two-day bus tour of Ohio, a critical state in his path to the White House. Both campaigns are contesting the state fiercely, and the end result is expected to be tight, though nearly all polling shows Obama with a narrow edge.

“Thousands gathered” for Romney???
ABC’s political blogs thinks they are so sick. I see what the heck they were trying to do with this headline. It just surprised me that it wasn’t Jake Kr(T)apper posting it.
