Hellooooooooo Jackie and Ceb!!!!!!
Love this one. Thanks Chips!
Congratulations – you’re tied for #1 with Jackie
Just watched the season premier of “Key & Peele”. They, too, met PBO. Their description of the meeting was HILARIOUS.
Thanks for the info. I will check them out. Loved what they did last season.
Ann Romney: Mitt Might Go Mental If Elected President
Well, if Ann had asked me, I would have told her the time to worry about Mitt’s mental well-being is long past. I mean, when someone builds their entire campaign on a set of lies, it can admittedly take a toll out of them. And keeping the Teabaggers happy… I have no idea how one would do that without going at least a little mental (whether in the crazy sense or in the evil sense). And I am pretty sure that a Romney presidency will make all sane Americans at least a little mental. But now that we are talking about a possible Romney presidency, what can be better than a president whose own wife has to worry about his mental sanity should he be elected.
With the problems we face as a country, and the problems in the world we don’t need someone in the oval office where we are concern about there mental well being. Now finally I am understanding how Mitt Romney can flip flop so much, how he has no principals, and how he lies so easy, like it’s nothing. Ann Romney has just answer everything.
Looking at the fundraisers here at TOD and wondering…..has anyone heard from our dear HZ lately?? I miss her inspiring, magical words.
HZ posted last night, late, but sounded good, although tired.
September 27, 2012 at 11:26 pm
Good Evening TOD Family. It has been a long day, but a lot of hope out there for POB. I was so elated to wake up this morning feeling so good thus making it possible to fulfill my obligation to do my phoning for POB.
The people are Fired Up and they are Ready to Go and are going. Those I spoke with feel that we have solid people who will stay solid for POB. They expressed loved for him. They are aware of how we all will have to stay together and continue to support POB no matter what the polls are saying.
So many were aware of what POB’s record looks like and most of them knew where to go and also tell others in their families where to go and find information. There were positive. There was hope within those calls. A lot of them want it to be over because they are tired of the ugly and disrespect that is put on POB daily.
I came in and decided to see why I had weird messages from Twitter. Then while the tv was on in the background tuned to RM, and my nervous were too raw with tiredness, so I made some comments there rather than just taking my shower and relaxing. But I am fine now. And coming to my family here gave me the peace and comfort that I needed to add to my space. Good to see the Grassroots FR Pages. Thanks so much, Chips. I hope that I will get some generous shout outs to my page. Thank each of you so very much. We all are helping and making sure that POB and our dear VPOTUS will be re-elected. We can do this. So I do appreciate your generous help to finish my goal.
Please keep me in your thoughts, meditations, and prayers for strength. I feel fine so far. My doctor was happy with the nurse’s reports, and I am a very good patient. But I need to be able to stay strong and help all of my family here to win this. Keep you faith, hope, love, peace, and whatever you are doing to help the campaign because the people I spoke with today are very interested and very grateful for our calling, donating, door to door, small group information meeting, telling them where to get information on making sure that they are registered. They were very kind with their remarks.
I will say goodnight to Chips and to my dear family here.(((((((( I love you all so much))))))))))HZ
Brought this over from last night for you, DF, and hope that our beloved HZ will not mind. It’s from the Long Line thread….. Xo
No, it’s from the Dig Deep thread…
Hiya DF, HZ has been emailing me, so she’s good – still struggling with ill-health, but as inspirational and lovely as ever.
Thanks, Pamela and Chips:) I’ve been thinking of her and hoping that she’s doing alright. We are a close family, aren’t we?
Does anyone remember a certain person’s hand that was injured from shaking peoples’s hand? This seems to be only happenning to spouses of Republicans. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2008/08/cindy-mccain-rushed-to-hospita.html
I do remember that. I watched Ann’s interview and I don’t see any evidence of an injury. She easily changed hands with the mike.
I had forgotten that Cindy Mc hand injury story. Maybe shaking hands repeatedly with the 47% does have a deleterious effect on the rich. Remember Bush brushing his hands off after one such contact? Poor people can be so over-eager and rough, if you’re not used to it you could get yourself hurt!
The miserable fucker was in Haiti and shook hands with a Haitian and then wiped his hand on a reporter’s shirt. I didn’t think even Dubya was that low. What a shit.
He wiped his hand on Bill Clinton’s shirt on their mission to Haiti…
Right. I remember now. What a nasty piece of work he was and is.
What a moving video! These grassroots events meeting/having dinner with POTUS are just really, really terrific. FIRED UP!
Yes, what a treat. This is an amazing video. Thanks Chips!
Until now Presidents were royalty. We now have one that really walks the talk and has no fear of the ppl. No other President has done what PBO has done to include ppl in WH activities. GOD bless and keep him and his family for doing the right thing!
YES! From the moment they moved into the WH, the First Family has done so much to reach out to the local non-profit and educational community and to invite children and families into the WH. They have completely changed what it means to be in the people’s house. Truly, truly the people’s POTUS.
Beautiful thought, Yardarm, and I know we all agree. Especially the babies and children with whom they interact, who are the most important part of We The People in this political climate and the years ahead for our country! We must keep them in the WH for their sake, as well as ours.
Including my (not sure I’ve mentioned this here, because I feel like I’ve told 500 people already) 20-month-old great grandson who recently moved closer, giving me the opportunity to teach him to happily say “Obama” in his perfectly-wonderful-all-boy-yet-nevertheless angelic voice!
Not sure I’ve heard that, J-OB! Congratulations – what a joy!
Yes, I promised him an Obama sticker for his shirt!
Simply adorable, Jackie!
Oh, JOB, how lucky you are to have your grandson close. We get to see our granddaughter through cameras on our computers and we are just mesmerized by everything she does. Your grandson sounds adorable. And you are teaching well right from the start.
Yes, Jackie, I am lucky – and he’s my great grandson (my first granddaughter’s boy), so that makes me even luckier to be alive to see him up close. But – don’t worry – grandparents stay just as close to their grandkids via all the love that goes through those computers and cell phones and the occasional visits. Kids can feel it! Enjoy your grand girl.
I totally agree with you, Yardarm, and join in your blessings for our President and his family. I’ve been around ten presidents and I can’t remember any other President or First Lady who has been so ordinary people oriented, including having dinner with them on various occasions. I also can’t remember any other First Lady who gave so many hugs to so many people of all ages. Obama’s presidency has truly been the people’s presidency!
They get me pumped up every time.
Well, lookie here, top 15…maybe I can keep up now.
Good evening all.

It;s all kinds of awesome
Complete genius! He’s not only a great comic, but he actually has a nice voice, too. I agree with his 2016 Dream Team.
1. Great job by Jimmy Fallon – you don’t find that kind of creativity on the right.
2. That would certainly be a dream team – Hillary and Michelle 2016!
3. I hate people ragging on VP Biden – who has done an incredible job as VP, and has been so loyal to President Obama.
Me too. I LOVE Joe Biden!

If only I can meet him and Michele in person. Wonder if he’ll come back to Canada in 2017. I’d fly to Toronto for that privilege.
Omg! I just spontaneously started to laugh as I remembered Jill Biden last week talking to a bunch of pervy college kids about seeing “Joe up close and personal” <<>> that shiz was HI-larious!!!!! the memory came outta nowhere and I laughed for so long and so hard, tears leaked outta my eyes!!!
Once it started, everything sounded like a double entendre. Really funny.

Brilliant Foxfire, I was looking for it earlier and couldn’t find it – thank you!

Glad I could help Chips! Now we just need the photo of the Mittbot that LOD used last nite showing what he was doing while others were fighting. This is my era and many of my highschool friends were drafted so I feel pretty strongly about this.
Same for me. Two of my HS classmates died in country within 1 yr of the 1965 graduation.
What is most moving about Senator Webb’s statement is his unflinching support of President Obama irrespective of the policy differences they have had. Coupled with his comprehensive take-down of #ChickenHawkMitt, he may be really helping the President with VA voters who think highly of him and may have questioned whether they should vote for the President.
LOD had that on his show…..
Sheesh DF, this is the right version:
Oh lord, Chips, you are too much! You have single-handedly destroyed my belief that a picture is worth 1000 words.
Yes! Yes! You keep playing with my already distorted mind! If I hadn’t seen the ‘original’ and followed the mental well-being thingy I would have been sure that very neat message was it. Nowadays, I don’t know if what my eyes tell me is there is that which was really there originally. Of course, if i can’t believe my eyes I’m not sure WHAT I can believe – so you see my dilemma.
While the 47% Mitt Romney has such disdain for were fighting for their country in the Vietnam war, you see in that picture what Romney were doing. Laying on some beach in France, dodging the draft sending message to his Ann.
The comments on DF’s version absolutely skewer Romney, except for the one woman, who accuses President Obama of just waiting to install the draft, all the while ignoring the fact that Romney protested in favor of the Vietnam War and in favor of the draft – all before he skipped off to the beaches of France to avoid fighting in that same war. Romney is the worst sort of spineless human.
Bobfr – That’s awful that you lost your classmates so young. I graduated from HS in 1964, and I still feel guilty that when my son was born in 1969, I’d see the nightly news coverage each and every night (whatever small parts they were showing at the time) and remember thinking to myself once, “Not that war stuff again.” Eek. Even though I was young and had a few challenges to overcome (nothing much, comparatively speaking), I should have known better and all these years later still cannot give myself a pass for that.
JOB we all remember the horror of that time, the fear, the loss of friends, the feeling that it would never end, the stomach churning dread that your loved ones would be drafted. It was a traumatic time to be a young person of draft age. And later, those who returned struggled with such severe emotional problems, they were never the same.
I dislike Romney’s support of the war and the draft. I can’t say a word about his going to France, because I didn’t think anyone should have had to fight in that war. It was a horrible, ill-conceived, pointless thing. I hated the draft at the time and would have had no problem with friends or family who tried to avoid it. (But they did not support the war or the draft) I didn’t hold President Clinton’s non-service against him so I don’t hold Romney’s non-service against him per se. However I do hold his support of the war and support of the draft against him. He can’t have it both ways. I dislike Romney intensely and I don’t even think he is fit for dog-catcher. I am trying not to latch onto each thing about him without first analysing if why it is worth criticizing and how I would feel if a person I liked did or said it. I’m not explaining this very well but I can’t think how else to say it.
Yes, it was awful, Jackie. At the time, I was working for the Navy – and I like to think I was supporting making sure Navy pilots had the best aircraft to help them come back safely, even if I did it from my desk chair in the U.S.!!!
I had classmates die as well. I really truly hate people like Romney and Netanyahu who are all “Let’s you and him fight.” Happy to send others off to die and have to go to hospital for a hangnail themselves.
Okay you made the point I was trying to make much more succinctly. Your last sentence says it all.
I saw a clip of Lawrence featuring Webb’s comments, and juxtaposing Webb’s words against Romney’s chickenhawk past. It was blistering. I really enjoyed Webb’s speech here and I hope these comments go far and wide. He puts so-called war hero McCain, and all his fellow veterans’ benefits denying congressmen to shame. It is truly an outrage how unpatriotic these warmongers are and it’s about time they were called out for it.
Ann Romney is Worried that Mitt is Cracking Up
By: Sarah Jones
As she was being attended to by her hair and make up people, Mrs Romney said she never wanted her life to be like this (so hard), but she was driven out of worry over Obama. “I think all Americans should be worried if he’s re-elected because this economy has been under his control for the last four years and we’ve seen no jobs. It’s been a jobless recovery.” Apparently no one has told Ann about the millions of jobs waiting to be created in Obama’s American Jobs Act that Republicans, including her husband’s running mate, have killed.
No one asked Ann how giving “job creators” more tax cuts on the backs of the middle class was going to create jobs.
But take heart, America. The woman who knows Mitt best has confidence in him, but is concerned about his ability to handle the job emotionally.

When you have that many, your Tweets go far and wide.
Jovie, I was never convinced about the power of Twitter, but I decided to give it a bigger bash the last week or two, and crikey, it’s fun! Thanks!
The power of Twitter is enormous. I’m amazed by it every day. It’s also highly addictive.

Heaven or Hell
While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Senator (that may be redundant) was tragically hit by a car and died.
His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
“Welcome to heaven,” says St. Peter. “Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We
seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we’re not sure what to do with you.”
“No problem, just let me in,” says the Senator.
“Well, I’d like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we’ll do is have you spend
one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.”
“Really?, I’ve made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,” says the Senator.
“I’m sorry, but we have our rules.” And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to Hell.
The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in
front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy and in evening dress.
They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.
They played a friendly game of golf and then dined on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne. Also present is the devil, who
really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are all having such a good time that before
the Senator realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.
The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens In heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, “Now it’s time to visit
So, 24 hours pass with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.
“Well, then, you’ve spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.”
The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers:
“Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.”
So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to Hell… Now the doors of the elevator open and he’s in
the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls to the ground. The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.
“I don’t understand,” stammers the Senator. “Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and
caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there’s just a wasteland full of
garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?”
The Devil smiles at him and says,
“Yesterday we were campaigning, Today, you voted..”
Vote wisely on November 6 2012!
Romney Is Flailing in Ohio
// The GOP nominee’s scattershot campaign and faltering poll numbers have Democrats in Ohio and elsewhere saying, “Thanks, Mitt!” Romney’s struggles have brought on him a spate of conflicting advice from the sages of his party: he should be more aggressive, or less! he needs to be more specific, or less! he must look to the future, or to the past! But instead of picking some bold new direction and sticking to it, he seems to be frantically improvising. His campaign is constantly buzzing about a reboot that never actually occurs. //
Hopefruit = gem

They are pinning all their hopes on the debate.
And I bet he gets an assist from the media?
That said, the pundits will tout how great Robney is, and the People will say something different.
It’s like a Championship boxing match, got to knock out the Champ to win.
Which means, the Robney camp is already screwed!
You are absolutely right Jovie! I don’t think the pundits will be able to rescue Mitt Romney and make him President. The only way that Romney can change the score is to convince people, watching the three Presidential debates at home, that he landed KO on President Obama. Otherwise, Romney may win the votes of the pundits, but he certainly stands to lose the votes of the majority of struggling people.
Just checking again, has anyone had any contact with Sue from Minnesota recently? Thanks.
I hope she’s ok. Haven’t seen her here on TOD for a while. Have you tried emailing her Chips?
I have Hopefruit, no reply, but it could be that she signed in here with an email address she doesn’t generally use. I’m just clinging to the hope she’s taking a break from it all to look after herself, but if anyone out there has had contact with Sue please let us know. Thanks.
I haven’t heard a word, CC, yet she comes to my mind very often because we used to be ‘twins’ here. All I can remember is that the first time she was absent for a while she had been really sick and in hospital, so I confess I don’t feel good about her silence.
I’m sure I saw an enthusiastic post from Sue a couple days ago, she was Fired Up and rarin’ to get to the voting booth! She seemed fine to me… But I agree she has been missed lately!
Are you thinking of Sue Duvall Smith who always types in all caps? We’re wondering about Sue in Minnesota, not Sue Duvall Smith who has been posting quite regularly for the past few weeks
I think that’s the Sue alright Hopefruit, I did a search of the comments and Minnesota Sue hasn’t been here in a long time.
She was here either yesterday or the day before. Typing in all caps.
I worry so much about Sue in Minnesota…
She really loved this blog and would never just simply walk away without a word…
I know she spoke often of a brother she was close to…
I wish there was a way to reach her or him…
This is unusual-
Robert Costa scoops on Paul Ryan working the phones to try to tamp down some of the unrest among the conservative media about the GOP ticket:
In the past week, the Republican veep has called several conservative commentators. In those conversations, he has expressed confidence about the Republican ticket’s chances, fielded questions, and asked for frank assessments…
…Sources close to the Romney campaign tell National Review Online that Ryan has reached out to George F. Will, the Washington Post columnist; Paul Gigot, the editor of the Wall Street Journal editorial page; and CNBC’s Larry Kudlow, among others.
I am not sure they meant this to be leaked out?
From the original story
“A source close to the Romney campaign says the calls simply reflect Ryan’s warm relationships with many conservative media figures.”
Ryan is the GOP operative in Washington, no doubt he spends much more time with the “conservative media figures” than the folks who voted for him.
Has anyone noticed Obama channeling Josiah Bartlet. He tends to put his left hand in his pocket a lot these days and after he does he gets real fired up!
Reminds me of this ( skip to 4:45)
Also makes me excited to see the debates, hoping for one of these.
PBO has always put his hands in his pockets when speaking. In fact he did it even more when he was younger.
So, here’s my question, ‘Can we have it back’?

It’s funny that we’re such Obamabots that we know which hand he usually puts in which pocket. And when he wore “that tie” last. Ha!
I love the west wing – and I’m so excited about the debates!
I miss this show soooooooo much!!!!!
The Republican Party, 2008-2012: The 'gift' that keeps on giving http://t.co/shdbPE1X— The Obama Diary (@TheObamaDiary) September 29, 2012
Ewww, it’s a two-fer, Chips. Two of the most repulsive two-faced Republicans in America today. Or, as I like to call ‘em, “that one” (barf) and “that one” (gag). But I see where you’re going with this! Good point about the gift.
Yup – very repulsive. I can no longer stand surly John McCain, and Mitt’s face always looks like he’s about to cry.
I think even I could make Mitt cry! (But I wouldn’t waste my time.)
I used to have alittle respect for John McCain, but since he lost in 2008, he has become a right wing senile old nut.
GAG ‘N PUKE!
Tell us how you really feel, eh? (I feel exactly that same way!)
The Obama campaign has attacked Republican Mitt Romney this week for having investments in China, saying it is inappropriate for a presidential nominee to be investing so much money there.
Former Ohio governor Ted Strickland (D), a campaign co-chairman, said it “defies logic.” “It may not be illegal, it may not be unethical, but it is unseemly,” he said in an interview. “It just leaves a bad taste in your mouth.”
Yet the economies of the United States and China have become so intertwined in recent years that many everyday Americans are invested in the Chinese economy, whether its through international mutual funds or stock holdings in U.S. multinationals — including Apple, McDonald’s and General Motors — that have vast operations in China.
There once was a candidate who was a louse
(He just gives ya a bad taste in your mouth)
Oh god make him leave
So we can all breathe
And keep Obama in the White House.
The media always seems to find a way out for Mitt Romney, no matter how much they have to twist it…
So the retort to Romney having investments in China is now going to be that all ‘Americans do it’ because of the ‘intertwined economies’
Nice try Washington Post, but that simply won’t cut it…
Americans who have mutual finds generally have no idea what investments the fund makes and they are not running for president. Last I heard, neither Apple, McDonalds or GM were contemplating presidential runs, even though, as Willard tells us, they are people.
Jim Webb on ‘Givers’ and ‘Takers’
By James Fallows
Passages like the one below might look biting enough on the screen, but you should listen to the way Webb delivers them. This part begins two minutes in and is worth hearing in Webb’s own voice:
This is a theme straight out of Webb’s heart and brain and soul. I remember hearing almost exactly the same views from him when we first met in the late 1970s. We sometimes think about campaigns as if they’re all about positioning and micro-strategy and all the rest. But every now and then we see the genuine passions and principles that are at stake.
To my no doubt biased mind — biased as a friend of Webb’s, biased as someone who likes very little of what the current GOP represents — the passage of Webb’s is as powerful a response to the “47%” video as this also extremely powerful Obama ad.
MANCHESTER — President Barack Obama’s campaign will bring Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to the state on Friday and Saturday to speak at grassroots events in Durham, Portsmouth, Laconia, Concord, Nashua, Derry and Keene.
To avoid any legal issues, the Obama campaign has made it clear that Sebelius “will be speaking to the press in her personal capacity on behalf of Obama for America.”
The campaign even asked the media to ” refrain from using her official title at the event and in related press reports, and note that we will not be taking questions concerning her official responsibilities.”
Tricky – but I love that she wants to navigate these tricky waters in order to support President Obama.
Flying to home sweet home in another 10 hours. Planning to wear a false beard to scare the bejesus off the wifey.
Well, by the sounds of the very wise Mrs Amk, she’ll just say: “Sweetheart, you look ridiculous.”
But I always look ridiculous…. A beard just might do the trick.
Now you have me worried that Mrs Amk will call the police and you’ll be tweeting from your cell in 10 hours. Think carefully about this, please.
And, Chips, you are asking our dear friend amk to ‘think carefully’ …. he’d be no fun if he did that because he’d never post a wimin comment ever again
egg.sack.lee. Be ‘careful’ of what you wish for.
Amk? Did you see what Bob said? Go get him – I’ll sit back and watch.
Bob is delusional in thinking that I am capable of thinking. Ha, what a thought that one.
Don’t worry. I’ll have vc lean on the cell door. It’s bound to give away sooner or later.
(psst, is she done for the day?)
See, what I mean, Chips …. re: “think carefully”
Hey, amk, safe and smooth travels, friend!!!
Thanks Bob. I’ll be real ‘careful’.
Now, where did I put that damned glue?
Crikey amk, if you’re relying on VC to break you free you’ll be in there until 2096. I think she’s gone for the day, so we’re safe to cast slurs on her limited door-leaning abilities.
But there is always tomorrow. You better pray that she sleeps it in tomorrow.
Chips, my dear, are you coming soon? I’m about ready to sing you to sleep.
You called, Amk? I’m not leaning on any door for you because you were showing my dress to the whole world before I had a chance to step out in it and surprise them all! You know I like to do things quietly, and you know I don’t like everybody knowing ‘my business’, so I don’t know what came over you! So as far as I’m concerned, you get thrown in a cell with a silly beard, you’re on your own. You built THAT. Nevertheless, travel home safely, because I do have empathy in my heart for you, just like Mitt does for the 100%. /Min!/
Jeebus woman. Don’t you evah sleep?
Don’t worry. I have got a scorcher of a dress for you.
And yeah, thanks a lot for your empathy. Makes me feel wonderful.
Safe travels, amk! Looking forward to seeing you post on here again when you’ve arrived home safely and settled in. I’m sure you’re looking forward to a decent G&T.
Thanks theo. I am leaving for aeroporto in another hour.
So, I’m corrupting my wifey’s best friend’s son to Aussie Rules football.
Are you showing him some man u games ?
good lord no. I’m not cruel.
Good for you. We don’t want the kid to be scarred scared for life.
Good lord, the preliminaries to the AFL Grand Final are as ridiculous as those to the Super Bowl.
Aren’t all these ‘world series’ games are ?
Actually, the “World Series” is quite circumspect in comparison. But, no matter. The game’s about to start.
I just saw the Weirdest ad on the Rachel Maddow show.
It was a Gary Johnson for President ad, making fun of Elephants and Donkeys.
Strangest ad I have ever seen, what’s more, Rachel had it on her break. Knowing Rachel, She probably authorized it to play for FREE.
Did you all know that Rednecks in Virginia, refer To the Northern Suburbs, like Alexandria, Arlington etc, as Occupied Virginia?
Occupied Virginia??? That War has been over for 150 years. Dont they know?
What I love about that video of the supporters at President Obama’s birthday party is that the winners were the first people he greeted at the party. They were treasured guests. Not his buddies. Not the high rollers. But, his supporters – who may have given $3 to his campaign. Lovely!
Exactly, theo. So perceptive of you and so true!!!
He is totally genuine!!
@TheJusticeDept It's way past time to start putting people in jail for voter intimidation & election fraud. You know who they are cc @edshow— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) September 29, 2012
The right-wingers will be pissed off now-
In a small but significant advance for gay and lesbian immigrants, the Obama administration has formally directed immigration agents to consider foreigners’ “long-term, same-sex” partnerships when deciding whether to stay their deportations from the United States.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano on Thursday wrote members of Congress that she ordered Immigration and Customs Enforcement to issue written guidelines making clear that same-sex partners should be considered “family.”
“In an effort to make clear the definition of the phrase ‘family relationships,’I have directed ICE to disseminate written guidance to the field that the interpretation of the phrase ‘family relationships’ includes long-term, same-sex partners,” Napolitano wrote, adding that the temporary stays are decided on a case-by-case basis.
Shhh, don’t tell the Media, maybe the President can skate by without the Righties knowing? LOL!
@edshow The John Birch Party (aka GOP) cheated in 2000 & 2004 & illegal wars + the near destruction of the US economy resulted. Not in 2012.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) September 29, 2012
Will Not Let This Drop ….
ALERT: #MittRomney's wife of 43 yr is concerned about his 'Mental Well-Being' if Pres. Be Truly Afraid America. That's an Historic Warning.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) September 29, 2012
Never in anything I’ve ever read about a Presidential candidate or President have I ever seen evidence of a spouse questioning the mental (emotional) stability of a potential or actual President.
We must press for as much exposure of this historic moment as we did for the #47Percent and #BainMitt’s investment in Chinese slave labor.
@davidaxelrod @JoeBiden you must realize how unprecedented & threatening to America this is theobamadiary.com/2012/09/28/we-… Must be confronted, asap.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) September 29, 2012
This is EXCELLENT!! http://www.democratsforprogress.com/2012/09/28/wha-wha-what/
I love videos like that
But could someone tell me what the woman says around 2.20? “My husband told me to tell you that you´re the only man he´d allow me…” and then?
Waving from Nairobi aeroporto.
Hey, you are on the Ground in Northern Africa, has the unrest subsided, back to Normal? I hope!
Kenya is way below north africa. Absolutely no unrest here except for local ethnic issues. From BBC, I read that the whole poutrage has mostly died in ME and North Africa.
Thanks for the update.
btw, This May Cost Obama stories = press writing up whatever GOP is complaining about and disguising it as news; nyti.ms/NWKr8n— Eric Boehlert (@EricBoehlert) September 29, 2012
The press is trying to give Robney leverage, for the Debate.
They’re always trying to give Robney leverage. I’m glad that it’s not just us who are noticing what the MSM does, pushing GOP talking points disguised as news.
Thank you and when you read down in the story….. etc etc….. these people will NOT be able to run Mitten across the finish line because he is unlikable, unbelievable and according to his wife his mental stability might be in question if he wins.
Goooood Morning MsChipsss…GM TOD….
sipping coffee …catching up…
LOL! This is how Romney is preparing for the debates? WOW.
"Mr. Romney’s team has equipped him with a series of zingers that he has memorized " buff.ly/PzhJIe— Stephen C. Rose (@stephencrose) September 29, 2012
He’s memorizing zingers? What is this? High school? He’s not good off the cuff and that’s an advantage Pres. Obama has. Pres. Obama is able to quickly adapt to any given situation and is more natural and comfortable in his own skin.
Why not just teach this motherfucker how to juggle bowling pins, that shit should go over well at the debates.
Well, he is playing to the Media. Right? We saw Palin use the same soundbites, that the media loves and will play over and over.
It’s our media, that will not allow for a substantive debate.
Meanwhile, we have heard reports the President is trying to shorten his answers.
Me thinks, the President will make it a choice, every answer, swing at Robney, while defending…
Well we know what happened to Palin with those zingers. She LOST, and right now is no where to be seen or heard. If that’s the fate that Romney desires with his zingers, I say let him go right ahead. He can tell his zingers and then get lost, like Palin.
Tweet this to Axelrod.
“The ability to find solid blocks of time to do nothing but prepare for debate is almost impossible for a president,” said Dan Pfeiffer, the White House communications director. “The world doesn’t wait for debate prep.”
“Obama advisers are acutely aware that Mr. Romney used debates to dispatch Republican rivals one by one during the primary campaign. When they watched Mr. Romney’s recent interview with “60 Minutes,” they noticed that his answers were succinct and well rehearsed, a sign of the hours he had invested.”
That smells like set up to me. PO’s team are great at luring the GOP in the door. Come on in, water is fine, you have the upper hand . . . .and then BOOM! lol I can hardly wait for next week’s debate.
What are Saturdays for? Screaming at Chelsea to kick Arsenal’s ass!!!
Huh, own goal
Juan Mata’s leg was already on that ball and sending it along. Don’t blame Chelsea for Arsenal’s stupidity. It’s 2-1. 2-1!!!!
