OH thank goodness! I always fear you’ll give me a picture of that ruddy-nosed git Sir Alex. Although I have a bit of a ruddy nose right now; can’t get rid of this cold.
Oi! For that….
(Get well soon!)
Caught you sticking your nose in! Is it lunch already?
How apropos. LL, I haven’t seen that word used in aeons! Are you sure your “RUDDY” nose is not due to excessive wine, or gimlet, consumption and you are trying to blame a cold? It reminds me of this teacher who used to refer to students in the most disparaging tone as ‘You ruddy clowns!’ because he could get away with it when questioned. Of course, that was years and years ago!
Oh, I haven’t touched the sauce since Friday. One drop and I’d be out for the count, I’m so bushed.
Poor thing! Well, hang in there, and make that visit if things don’t change much.
Way to go, LL!
Are you fully recovered from the sinus infection? Sure hope so.
I thought I was, but I still feel exhausted. I’m thinking I’ll have to go see the doctor soon.
LL – this is your doctor talking (yes, I am one) – get your butt to the clinic, friend. Do take care, ok …
Cool. What kind of doctor if you don’t mind me asking?
MD Georgetown U 1979
Oi, Bob, did you not notice him being rude about the God of all things Manchester United? Don’t be kind to him!
Some of us have requested a little tutorial since we are not sufficiently familiar with ‘soccer’ to understand the highly nuanced exchanges among you, LL, UT, et al
But, it appears one would be wise, very wise, to select the team they’d support and say anything about it around these parts
You’d better support Chelsea or else. Manchester United is a no no no NOOOOOOOOOOO.
Bob, the only – and I mean only – thing you need to know is that Manchester United are the Barack Obama of football; Chelsea are the Mitt Romney. I rest my case right there.
Oh..oh…OH Really? Really? REALLY?!?!?! Your team is Barack Obama? Hahahahahahaa. I love you Chica but you called that one wroooooong. Chelsea is Barack Obama. Why? We were not expected to clean up or do as well as we did last season. Man U was expected to dominate and Chelsea came from nowhere and won multiple victories. Romney was expected to clean Pres. Obama’s clock and now who’s dominating? Yup…that’d be Pres. Obama aka The Chelsea Man.
How else is Chelsea like Barack Obama again? Our colors are blue. Pres. Obama is a Democrat. The color of the Democratic party is blue. How is Manchester United like Romney? Romney is a Republican. Man U wears the color red. Heck, they call themselves the “Red Devils” and the color of the Republican party is red.
I could go on and on and on and on. Don’t even think of claiming Pres. Obama as a Man U analogy. He is Chelsea ALL the way.
UT, Chips …. thank you for illuminating the options so clearly
I’m wise enough to walk slowly away from this topic now ….
Yes, very good decision – I was slowly and quietly closing the door behind me once I saw UT show up – I’ll let you out, first…
Gracious of you, theo
Bob, you are a smart man! May be you can look into being a fan of Liverpool. That’s if Liverpool has a credible soccer team.
nath, I think it is wise for me to not mention anything further about futball
Look at all the lovely people…
Nice going JER!!

I’m here! That first link is working fine for me Dudette, thank you!!!!!!
Okay, cool. I was trying to embed it on the comment though. Guess that only works for Youtubes.
Yeah, it’s a pain Dudette, only YouTube videos show up on WordPress.
Got it. Oh well, at least the link works.
Instead of getting PBO here again (can’t be too greedy, now) – instead we get a free Bon Jovi concert on Friday in support of early voting!
Poor thing! Remember Jon and Bettye at the Inaugural Concert? I still cannot get over what President Obama must have been thinking when he was deep in thought during this song @ 1:54 …
I LOVED this duet!!!
Best part of the concert, from my perspective, other than the fact we were all celebrating President Obama’s FIRST election!

New ad in Florida raises Allen West's disgraceful record in the US Military. Ad is below. More on the military… fb.me/2dPW6v2Ya— (@votevets) October 02, 2012
Though I don’t live in FL, have been supporting Patrick Murphy and really want him to trounce West ….
Yes, West has got to go. Something “not right” about the way he thinks (or maybe it’s because he’s too “right”).
Good find Bob!
Just saw this at Pierce’s place. I agree with Pierce that this may not have been a good idea. Murphy was already winning this race and this could backfire on him.
Highly unlikely japa given that it’s Vets who are supporting the ad.
CARSON CITY, Nev. — Nevada’s top elections official says more than twice as many Democrats than Republicans registered to vote in September.
Secretary of State Ross Miller says his office processed more than 30,000 Democratic registrations last month, compared to less than 15,000 Republican registrations. Another 15,000 people registered as nonpartisan.
Miller says Nevada has 1.2 million active registered voters.
Of that number, 42 percent are Democrats, 36 percent are Republicans and 17 percent are nonpartisan.
Online and mail-in voter registration is open through Saturday. Oct. 16 is the deadline to register to vote in person at a county clerk or registrar’s office.
Excellent report and important deadline information, Jovie. Thank you!!
Jovie, you are on FIYAH!! Excellent work!
Yes We Can!
Sweet. Only record number GOP registrations are the ones they cheat with. Caught red handed.
Not exactly a current topic, but something has been bothering me: Why does the Romney family think it ‘endearing’ that Mitt is a cheap son of a bitch? How does that humanize him? Does anyone actually think the Romney kids learned character from this? That they’ve ever worked a real job for even one day of their lives?
There are precious few anecdotes of Mitt being kind, but that does not seem to matter to the Romneys. They are just bizarre.
I totally agree with you – it is *not* endearing. I’d rather hear of him being like Bill Gates with his charity donations, but I know that won’t happen. I had a cheap relative like that and it’s just tiresome.
A few weeks ago, MSNBC ran a number of forums from Gates’ Educational Forum. There were lively, informed discussions from a number of people. Has Romney done ANYTHING remotely similar? He has done NOTHING with his tax cuts but enrich himself, his family, and his church that operates for-profit businesses with tithes from members. I can’t see anything that he’s done for people, and his family cannot point to a single example.
To me, it makes it even worse. He’s hoarding his money instead of paying taxes, and not even his family is benefiting? So, he basically says – I won’t let the country use the money, but I also won’t let anyone else use it, either?
That said, I actually don’t believe a word of the cheapskate story. Someone who own multiple homes, who has a wife driving two Cadillacs, who owns a dancing pony – is not a cheapskate. We saw Ann Romney with her multiple thousand dollar shirts.
It ultimately comes down to one simple thing. Who cares what they do or don’t do with their money. They just need to pay their fair share of taxes to help the country pay for infrastructure, educating the next generation’s workforce, support for seniors, roads and bridges and a small bit to defend the country. they can burn the rest or spend it on Krispy Kreme donuts, for all I care. They made their money out of thin air using the deregulated laws of this country, and they’ve built nothing sustainable or that will benefit the country – and it’s theirs fair and square. But, they need to chip in like every other person does. And then they need to live with their guilt that every dollar they spend was off the backs of some hard working person’s pension or salary that they destroyed.
Romney is the poster child for why tax cuts and tax avoidance doesn’t work the way they say it will: they hoard their money for their personal gratification. What have the Romneys done for anyone? They haven’t started a business employing people, they haven’t given any of their money to make the world a better place.
And yet, they still continue to further their argument that lowering tax cuts for the already wealthy will spur job creation and increase the wealth across broader sectors. Hasn’t worked up to now – they say “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result”. The GOP and the people who vote for them are clearly insane.
It was true when top rates were 91%. It hasn’t been true since Reagan slashed the rates; and at present rates there is ZERO incentive from the tax rates to create jobs.
Besides, any idiot knows that you create a business with BEFORE TAX dollars. You don’t wait until you’ve paid your taxes and then start a business.
I work for a very wealthy man, and he uses his tax cuts and low tax rates to buy pretty things — lots of them. If he wanted to start a business, he’d do it out of gross income and use the business for tax deductions. RWNJ policies have no basis in reality.
RWNJ also don’t understand business. They know how to cheat and make a lot of money using tricks, but they don’t know how to run a successful, above board, fair, honest and sustainable business. If they did, they’d appreciate the value of a broadly prosperous consumer base, a well educated work force, a sound and advanced infrastructure, fair trade deals, international stability and happy, optimistic people.
Perfectly articulated. thank you.
Miche is sharp and on point today!!
Goodness gracious, she’s hitting it hard! Crowd is rapt! Sounds like church up in there!
This woman is amazing!!
Listening to FLOTUS… she just mentioned she and PBO were married 20 yrs ago TOMORROW. Crowd goes wild!!
Romney, four months late, commenting on PBO’s executive order, or “Dream Act” lite:
“The people who have received the special visa that the president has put in place, which is a two-year visa, should expect that the visa would continue to be valid. I’m not going to take something that they’ve purchased,” Romney said.
“Purchased?” Is that all he thinks about? Bizarre, just bizarre.
He’s insulting them. He is so dense.

Remember there will be other stuff to vote for on the ballot in November.
Here’s one issue that Sully mentioned today
Marriage for All Families: Stories from Maine
The first of a four-part series made in each of the states that have marriage equality votes this November, this short shares the experiences of same-sex couples who want to get married in Maine.
They have the same challenges, responsibilities, and aspirations as any other couple–but they are strangers in the eyes of the law. That’s why marriage equality is so important: it aligns personality reality with legal reality, as a simple matter of fairness.
The series is produced in association with The Four, a social media campaign to support marriage equality in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, and Washington State. Learn more and get involved at http://TheFour.com.

Can anyone expand on an earlier post (no link was provided) that said that Romney had new plan for taxes in time for debate. I read about immigration on TPM
Oh, so he has new plans for taxes too? Is he going to break his no tax pledge to Grover? I hope the President calls him on his BS at the debates on Wednesay.
I don’t know about the taxes – I read it on an earlier post but can’t find information on it. If anyone has anything please post a link. Thanks.
I know I should already have this somewhere, but can someone provide me with an OFA link to early voting dates in the different states. Also have the deadlines to register in majority if the states passed? I plan on posting them to my friends FB page who are in different states from me.
If u didn’t know, unless the person has changed settings, when u post something to someone’s wall, there friends list can also see it if the privacy setting are simple. So just by posting on a page u reach not just ur friends list, but theirs as well. Networking!
Hope this helps…registration deadlines, early voting, absentee :
Proud, I think that’s for absentee/military voting.
For in-person early voting, I’d use the Gottavote.org page and select your particular state for details:

I know many of us have coal miners as current or distant family members, and respect how much they have done for America and what they sacrificed, healthwise and otherwise, to do so. So, on behalf of all of us, may I say that Mitt Romney can kiss the ass of this particular coal miner’s granddaughter! I’d tell him directly, but who wants to see his sorry face up close?
A dear friend of my sister’s left Air Force Special Ops (like the Navy Seals) and went to work in coal mines in WV when he got out of the AF. Very dangerous work. My hat’s off to them!
Agree, totally! Good for your sister’s friend – sounds like a brave man, all around.
So I was just at Whole Foods a short while ago and the cashier asked me if I was going to watch the debates tomorrow. She was a middle aged white lady. In my head I was like OH gosh here we go with some right wing BS, but I told her I had to work(although I have now arranged to be off lol) so then she said well I hope “President Obama whoops Mitt Romney’s behind.” Wow I was shocked. She said it kind of low, but it is more affirmation that Mitt’s 47% comment has really sunk in with people. I live in SC that is why I was totally surprised by the cashiers comments. It made my day!
AWESOME! Understatement that it made your day.
“I live in SC that is why I was totally surprised…” Being in GA, I totally get that!
I was born and raised in GA., so I LIVED that!
Yes, all of us middle aged white ladies think like that. Ha! (And, of course, I’m pushing “middle aged” to the limits in my case!)
Go, Obama! Go, 47 Percenters!
I love this also. A co-worker of mine that I thought for SURE was a Robney supporter, shocked the fool out of me today! She happened to hear myself and another co-worker mentioning that Robney flip-flopped on the Dream Act and she exclaimed, “What a slimy son-of-a-bitch!” Made my day!!! LOL!
I really think the 47% comments woke people up who were asleep so to speak, or who were leaning Romney. I am telling you I think this has really rubbed people the wrong way. Hard Working people resent Romney’s comments.
BREAKING: New CNN-ORC poll of Latino Likely Voters: Obama 70, Romney 26. (2008: Obama 67, McCain 31). CNN.com/Ticker— Sam Feist (@SamFeistCNN) October 02, 2012
A dead heat.
Or the poll is skewed.
Either way, this is bad news for President Obama.
the other day, I posted a link to a Latino poll that had Obama at 73% support with Latino voters. Well here’s CNN/ORC poll and yep, they have Obama at 70% support with Latino LIKELY voters!
Bet this explains why all the reports of Romney saying he would NOT deport those who took advantage of Obama’s “Dream Act” declaration.
“CNN Poll: Obama at 70% among Latino voters”
Except Romney never intended to spend a penny deporting them. He wants to make their lives so miserable that they self-deport. And anyone who was covered under the Exec order for the Dream Act who thinks Romney won’t change his mind once he wins, is delusional.
.@JoeBiden takes the stage! Cheers are #crazy! #readyforjoe http://t.co/vBEnPz4y— Obama for America NC (@OFA_NC) October 02, 2012
Romney is so screwed with Latino voters in the new CNN/ORC Poll. He seriously thinks he can make up the deficit among young voters, women, minorities and the elderly by having a 60% turn out of the white male vote? BWAHAHAHAHA.
New CNN/ORC Poll: Latino Likely Voters: Pres. Obama 70%. Romney 26%. In 08: Sen. Obama 67%, McCain 31%. #RomneyIsScrewed— (@utaustinliberal) October 02, 2012
[I will not get overconfident, I will not get overconfident, I will not get overconfident... the only poll that counts is the one on Nov 6...]
What is just as important is that, from everything I have read, Latino voters, which have not necessarily turned out in huge numbers before, are fired up to vote this year. Most polls are keeping thwem at the same levels as in the past. If they do increase their actual voting levels (some estimates I have read is from 20-30% more than in the past) then this number is huge.
Even more significant, this poll is of LIKELY voters, not just registered voters. So that means they are more likely to be voting right? If Obama even gets 60% of those polled, that can swing states too.
MNSBC political analyst Richard Wolffe will lead the new digital home of MSNBC when it launches in 2013, the network announced Tuesday. Wolffe will report to MSNBC President Phil Griffin and NBC News Chief Digital Officer Vivian Schiller.
Poor Richard Wolffe had to ‘converse’ with Megan McCain last night. He looked like he wanted to be anywhere else.
What in the world makes her newsworthy or worth listening to? I don’t mind someone with a famous name earning the right to be listened to, but these daughters of politicians fresh out of college with nothing to offer but their famous names — what a waste of precious progressive air space.
THIS 57. I feel strongly about what u said. It really irritates me.
Have to mute Megan — she totally irritates me, has nothing to say. Poor Richard! Bet he’d have liked to mute her mike!
His expression spoke volumes. He’s a serious guy, one of the few, and that that twit was considered his equal is just insulting.
I totally agree with you, 57! Might as well put Seamus or Rafalca up there to give us his opinion.
Meghan with an H McCain has been bugging me a lot lately too. Last week she really annoyed me when she said in an arrogant voice to Rev Al “I said so already what do you want from me?” when he pressed her about Romney. Now she is acting like just trying to defend him is irritating to her. I am thinking her bitchy, disrespectful attitude is one I do not like seeing on the shows I watch. They should let her go.

BOULDER CITY, Nev.—President Barack Obama is making an unexpected tourist stop at the Hoover Dam.
Obama, secluded in Nevada to prepare for Wednesday’s presidential debate, took a break to visit the dam. The giant structure is considered one of the world’s great engineering feats and is a popular tourist attraction.
The president was seen by reporters looking out at the dam upon his arrival. The dam is about 30 miles outside of Las Vegas.
Obama mentioned the dam in his State of the Union address this year as an example of America’s history of building up its infrastructure during hard times.
Said Obama then: “During the Great Depression, America built the Hoover Dam and the Golden Gate Bridge.”
I want to see pictures of him looking at the Dam! Yes I do!
Here you go: http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0cDibK0b9J637/610x.jpg
He looks so cute. In the second picture, you can hardly believe that is the President of the United States. He wears it well! And I love that Romney will see this and say “Huh – he’s so unconcerned about my zingers and stumping questions that he’s got time for sight-seeing? Yikes!”. I love it.
Hey, how’d you get that daylife pic?
Scroll down… not far at all
Reporters are tweeting that Pres. Obama made an impromptu visit to the Hoover Dam (Ahem….the Govt. built that Mitt.) Apparently, he didn’t realize the place he was hunkered down for debate practice in Nevada, was so close to the Hoover Dam so he told an aide they should swing by and lo and behold they did.
YES! I hope he got to go on the new bridge … my daughter who is studying architectural history went there last year. Sent us some awesome pictures!
I’ve been there! It really is BREATHTAKING!
Beautiful aerial shot of the dam and the new bridge in this story about POTUS’ visit today

Thank you, thank you Dudette! You rock! I love the pic and the interview … his reason for seeing it … he’d never seen it and it’s pretty great … plus his questions about where the power generated by it goes. Now I too would assume some would go to Vegas with all those lights …! lol

BOULDER CITY, Nev. — Taking a break from debate prep, President Barack Obama made an unexpected stop Tuesday at the Hoover Dam, his first visit to a tourist spot considered one of the world’s great engineering feats.
Asked why he came, Obama said: “Because it’s spectacular and I’ve never seen it before.”
The President is right! Hoover Dam is “spectacular.” I took my daughters there in 1989 (they were 13 and 8 at the time) and it was truly awesome!
did everybody get this email today? more dem wonderfulness–right out ahead of the curve!!
‘ Why did the mainstream media call out Paul Ryan for his convention speech lies? CNN’s Wolf Blitzer said it best: “every journalist is getting a lot of email” pointing out Ryan’s “lies.”1
If we want the media responding the same way to any lies that Romney spits out tomorrow night, then we’ve got to be ready and we’ve got to be fast.
So, we’re partnering with experts at Think Progress and Center for American Progress Action Fund to instantly fact-check Romney’s statements, which will appear on our “Debate Watch 2012 Dashboard” at moveon.org. From there, you’ll be able to share them instantly on Facebook and Twitter. The best member tweets will even be retweeted by MoveOn and shown on our Debate Watch site.
But how can we be that influential? Well, the average social media user has 126 Twitter followers and 245 Facebook friends.2 So if 108,000 MoveOn members (just 1.5% of us) take part in the MoveOn Truth Squad tomorrow night, we can reach up to 40 million Americans. ‘

Overheard in Cincinnati: "I walked five blocks, in the rain, to vote for @BarackObama. And it was awesome!" #OHVotesEarly— Obama for America OH (@OFA_OH) October 02, 2012
Ohio wants 4 More Years!
You go Cincinnati OHIO! I have friends in Cincinnati who voted today and they were very excited.
Chuck fucking Todd and his goddamned “enthusiasm gap” bullfuckingshit!!
THIS!!!!! I wanted to throw something at the TV. He is an A——!
So tell us what you’re really thinking lisa.
lisa is thinking exactly what I am thinking about that Chuck Todd.
.@IamSteveHarvey- .@MichelleObama talks abt first kiss w/ .@BarackObama: youtu.be/DgJ2xCN6rvs Happy 20th Anniversary to the First Lovebirds!— Dudette (@Dudette9t9) October 02, 2012
Can’t watch on iPad, can u post the actual video?
Scroll up. It’s around comment 135.
Here goes Chuck Todd saying the Enthusiasm gap again.
His poll is the only one that shows an enthusiasm gap.
Here goes Chuck Todd AGAIN with that enthusiasm gap crap. And he never cites actual data when he’s talking about it, always giving his own personal analysis which doesn’t comport with anecdotal or empirical data so far.
I would love to ask Chuck Todd what is it he sees at the Obama/Biden rallies which shows him that there is lack of enthusiasm on our side. Todd is just like David Gregory, a dam lying racists who’s in the GOP hip pocket.
I remember someone saying that the media was going to come up with there ways of trying to tell us the race is close. And NBC have been working on that for the last fews days.
Chuck Todd covering for George Will saying that other republicans believe that if PBO gets reelected, it’s because of “white guilt.”
Odd. Ann Coulter was on The View last week and said the OJ verdict ended white guilt. Which is it?
It’s their last refuge, Lisa. They’ve got nothing.
I am white as is my SO, we both are voting for PBO and it is NOT because of “white guitl” Chucky, George Will and whoever else is that stupid to believe that premise, BS. He is the Best President in my lifetime, that is why we are voting for him.
Indeed – they give all white people a bad name by projecting their cynical, racist points of view and lumping all white voters in one bucket. The fact is, we saw for ourselves a broad swath of diversity during the 2008 campaign, at the election night event, at the inauguration, at volunteer events – and they all were pretty enthusiastic supporters. The only people who consistently tell us that white people should be lumped into a racist bucket are the lazy media and the right wing. It’s just not true.
You would think that white people NEVER voted for a Democrat before 2008. White guilt made them vote for Clinton, FDR, JFK? SHEESH.
And where was the white guilt when Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton ran for President? Where was the white guilt for Herman Cain?
Exactly what are the whites voting for Pres. Obama guilty of? How come white guilt did nor get Alan Keyes, Herman “999″ Cane, or Jesse Jackson elected President? Why do people continue to take seriously people like Chuck Todd and George Will?
I’ll take it. A win is a win.
Now Chuck Todd is advancing George Will’s idea under the guise of reporting that ” a wide slice of Republicans think that Obama will be re-elected because of White guilt…”
Actually Todd, that is YOU and your colleagues in the media who want to accuse white Obama supporters of voting for him because of white guilt. Just as YOU in the media accused Black supporters of voting for him JUST because he’s black.
RACIST MEDIA CAN GO TO HELL!
That was just an unbelievable segment, of covering for Willard and making excuses for Him.
Wow! That was very telling…
Wow, they really got NOTHING. They just keep recycling the same BS every week. Trash.
Saw that and commented on ” white guilt” upthread. Can’t fucking stand this fuckery! They can’t talk about how his race makes people want to “fire” him but they can make up stories about how his race got him his fucking job. Goddamn fucking assholes!
Lisa – sometimes I wish I could swear like you. You do it with such gusto!
Crawl back into your cave Chuck Todd and don’t come back out….
Isn’t that sick? Infuriating. It’s like Obama’s wrecking their whole plan for a Romney (Republican) win. With few exceptions, there’s been a push//expectation for that outcome from much of the MSM. And the mostly encouraging polls for Obama are just confounding them. So they’ve come up with white guilt—-again—–I think they tried that excuse last time also. And it’s women who are most guilty of this!!! It can’t be because of high regard from much of the voting public for President Obama and the job he’s done under the most horrific of circumstances. So they’ve resorted to a racist explanation of sorts. And Todd is disgusting to me. He takes whatever Repubs feed him and reports it as news. He and Gregory are quite the dynamic duo, both totally lacking in integrity and honest, decent reporting.
” a wide slice of Republicans think that Obama will be re-elected because of White guilt…”
Seriously TODobots do we really care what explanations the Republicans and their cohorts want to give themselves for a President Obama win? White guilt or black guilt, I couldn’t care less! All that matters to me is that the President and his team win AND have enough support in the House and Senate to DO SOMETHING meaningful and long-lasting for the country as a whole. Those guys will never be satisfied, and quite frankly, they are mean and selfish enough to not to admit the truth of PBO’s positions and dumb enough to want the country to fail. They are truly not worth the energy IMO.
Chuck Todd is a poor excuse of a human being, it couldn’t be possible to people like George Will and Chuck Todd that white people are voting for Barack Obama because they feel he is a better candidate, that he is a person who truly care about the welfare of people, more than Mitt Romney.
Exactly, hopefruit2! I also think this an attempt to make whites who are voting for the President feel bad! In other words, they are being accused of voting irrationally, whereas whites who vote for Romney are rational. You see, President Obama has nothing to offer except his race. It’s the “other guy” as one of the children put it, who is smart, rational, and should be president. Of course voters for the “other guy” are not at all motivated by race. And as you said: Blacks are voting for him because he is Black; Whites are voting for him because of white guilt; and Hispanics/Latinos are voting for him because they’ve been brainwashed. In the final analysis, according to Will, Todd, Ann Romney, no one is voting for President Obama because of his policies, his leadership qualities, his compassion, and his superior political organization. His votes are all about his race. Now we know who is obsessed with the President’s race. It’s certainly not his supporters.
Oh my goodness Nathkatun7 – you said exactly what I was thinking! The race-obsessed, Republican-run media is now desperate and they’re projecting their rabid obsession on other people who are rational and using their brains. This is a not-so-subtle form of intimidation of white supporters by making them feel foolish for voting simply out of “white guilt.”
It’s the same argument they use to explain how a Black person is a manager or other high up position – its gotta be because someone GAVE it to them even though they are not qualified. It can’t possibly be because the person is smart and hardworking, no no
I’m so sick of this shit. Then the GOP wonders why Black people run from the Republican party
You are absolutely spot-on TrumpDog!
Yes, indeed HF! I absolutely agree with you.
Was this a surprise visit to his show? Our President and First Lady are the bombs! I mean really … I don’t even use that term, but seriously. I can hardly type because I am crying because that beautiful young woman who asked a question teared up and could hardly speak when she saw who was going to answer her question. OMG!
Me too daisydem. What is that? I can’t even watch the woman come out from behind a curtain without squealing and bawling. I mean I didn’t even do that for music stars and crushes when I was a teenager.
It is a visceral reaction to someone so genuine, kind, and open that she just radiates love and goodness and you feel it! Same with our President – that is why the babies and the children respond to him and want to be close to him and touch him. Presence.
Same here Dudette! I had NEVER had a crush on a movie star/celebrity, never bought a poster of any of them, never paid them the least attention, thought fan clubs were the height of idiocy, and thought it quite stupid for my peers to make all that fuss about people they would never meet who had no interest in them other than in their money. As a young adult I also used to think that addictions could be dealt with if you were ‘strong enough’ which of course *I* was. Fast forward to 2008 and I had my absolutely first taste of what an addiction is like. As DaisyD says below, the Obamas do draw a visceral reaction from me. The good thing about this being my first addiction is that I tell myself I’m allowed ONE so I don’t feel guilty even when friends make fun of me.
I feel ya!
What show are you referring to daisydem?
Nevermind – I see upthread what you are referring to!
INFRASTRUCTURE BABY! Dams, roads, bridges, train tracks (trains – architecture) … let’s work on this country! FORWARD!
Obama and Romney both joined LinkedIn today. Right now Obama has 32,578 followers. Romney has 5,440.— Chris Moody (@Chris_Moody) October 02, 2012
I find it strange that they both joined on the same day. I also see that Romney camp is having ~300 debate watch parties (Obama camp is having over 3000 such parties). Is Romney copying everything that Obama does?
Yes, except for winning.
+800 votes cast on this 1stday of voting in small but important Cincinnati, Hamilton County #Ohio compared to +600 1stday 2008 #OHVotesEarly— Black Dove Invictus (@Black_Dove) October 02, 2012
Cinci is not that small—-2 million + population. I would think that area might have had more than 200 more than in ’08. I think there was much higher numbers in Iowa’s truly small cities.
.@chucktodd, here is your enthusiasm gap right here: youtube.com/watch?v=axFKim… the same tired old RW memes doesn't wash.— meta (@metaquest) October 02, 2012
That was so exhilarating and inspiring.
.@BarackObama visits Hoover Dam. Asked why he came: "Because it's spectacular & I've never seen it before." wapo.st/VqsnFd— Dudette (@Dudette9t9) October 02, 2012
Ugh! I should’ve tweeted a different article. I missed the snarky crap at the end of it. [sigh!]
You can delete the tweet.
That Wapo article about the Hoover Dam was urking me, so I deleted it! Ha!
Here’s a better one!

Romney camp has 336 debate watch parties tmmw night. We're at 4,400 and growing. #groundgame— Ben LaBolt (@BenLaBolt) October 02, 2012
WOW…Why does Romney copy our President for every and anything, knowing that he will NEVER measure up? What a DOLT!
Imitation…..no matter how crude from a lying SOB……is still the sincerest form of flattery. In the case….with Romney I would call it unsincerest.
That’s what chuck Todd was talking about, that Robney has a lot more support and they are way more excited, oh wait a minute…
Bad link above. Here’s the right one:
In honor of Gandhi's birthday, a classic quotation from him: "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." – TD— Tammy Duckworth (@Tammy4Congress) October 02, 2012
IT HAS BEEN DIFFICULT WAITING FOR THIS FIRST DEBATE…SUCH ANTICIPATION…I SENT PBO AN ENCOURAGEMENT CARD…I KNOW HE WILL BE AMAZING AND I WILL BE WATCHING EVERY MOMENT AND PRAYING FOR HIM. OF COURSE…HE WILL BE THE ONLY ADULT IN THE ROOM. HIS PRESENCE ALONE AND HIS CALM DEMEANOR WILL TOTALLY INTIMIDATE MITTENS…IT DOESN’T TAKE MUCH TO TOSS ROBNEY OVER THE EDGE. WE HAVE YOUR BACK MR. PRESIDENT!…:)
We now know why Ryan was selected as VP candidqte. He shares the same dismal view of a good share of Americans as Romney does although his number is 30% slackers versus Romney’s 47%. This needs to go viral!!!!
Here’s the link: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/02/paul-ryan-30-percent-welfare-state_n_1933730.html
It is a Headline Front Page on HP. They have a tape too. I had not read the story for I wanted to find out here if this was today or at some other time. It looks like Ryan was not speaking in a quiet room like Romney was. It looks like he was speaking before some group. I am gong to dig a bit more.
I think I read that this is where Obama is holed up for debate prep—-near Hoover Dam—-looks nice!
It looks gorgeous out there! I’m glad he’s got such serene surroundings, but I bet he wants to play some golf… I believe he’s staying at the Westin Lake Las Vegas – which much be in the vicinity.
WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney and his running mate, Paul Ryan, share a similarly dim view of a very large portion of Americans, according to previously unreported remarks by Ryan. Both believe that many of their fellow citizens are dependent on government and have no motivation to improve their lives — but they disagree over the precise number.
Romney’s estimate, famously, is 47 percent. For Ryan, it’s 30 percent.
“Seventy percent of Americans want the American dream. They believe in the American idea. Only 30 percent want their welfare state,” Ryan said. “Before too long, we could become a society where the net majority of Americans are takers, not makers.”
Ryan’s comments were delivered as part of his keynote address at The American Spectator’s 2011 Robert L. Bartley Gala Dinner, which the magazine posted online. A reader tipped HuffPost to Ryan’s speech, given in November — six months before Romney’s videotaped remarks.
HuffPuff has the video and it is the main story.
Thanks. You have read it already? It really needs to go around……
I see HuffPo has been trying to be left-leaning lately. I wonder if she thinks that will fool us, when she was party to the Plot of Treason from Newt and his inaugural cabal.
