First? Hello?
Grrrrrrr! Daisydem!
ps-
Daisydem on First!!!
WooHoot! Look at YOU! (love your kitty!)
Thank you Pamela .. her name is Sunflower. She is our love. And she is nothing but hair! I tell her she is nothing but a little (well, not so little anymore) ball of fluff!
I wish I could show you Alex, my 14lb Maine coon! We all her Liddle Ting, but she ain’t! I love her totally!
Maine Coons are so loving! And big.
We had 2 Maine cooncats. Harold and Stanley. 19 pounds and 22 pounds, respectively. Liddle Ting is a wisp of a thing.
Hey congrats!!
Thank you.
Hey daisydem – congrats!!!
Hey thanks Bobfr. And thanks for all you do … the tweets and such. Since I don’t twitter, tweet, whatever the verb is … I don’t do it. Being first on TOD takes talent, finesse, moxie …. well most of you know that! Lol. Timing is everything!!!
A seat is assigned to US First Lady Michelle Obama prior to the first presidential debate at Magness Arena at the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado, on October 3
Hellooooooo DD!
And Valerie Jarrett will be sitting next to her! Good.
Yes, that is good to have such support next to her. Glad to see this.
Ooooooo….T-minus one hour.
quick!
Yea! Doing happy dance! My first first!
Your very, very first?? Oh, heartiest congratulations to you, DaisyD!
I thought SO! I remember not long ago you had a synched 2nd, and said how one day you will land it, and today is that day! On the 20th anniversary of our beloved First Couple! WTG, well done again!
Really quick Daisydem. Congrats. Are we fired up?
Antsy & Fired Up!
YES!
Well, we’re getting close.
In order to avoid the talking heads over the next 3 hours, gonna fool around on my computer then wash my hair. That alone will take up all the time till the debates start.
Will it calm the butterflies in tummy? Or will you need a glass of my wine to help? I know I do and I am still at office for 3 more hours unless it just gets to be too much. Am thinking of putting my music on (Springsteen to start)!
Ack, me too – giant butterflies like in The Birds! ! However I can’t drink since alcohol and I don’t mix (a story for some other day). My mom used to have me sipping 7-UP – it really does work for a funky tummy. So that’s what I’m drinking at the moment (no gin and it actually works)!
Wow, did you guys/gals see that new piece of tape of Todd Akin? Accusing doctors for performing abortions on women that weren’t pregnant!?! How did this character EVER get elected?!?
He looks good! Menu change … going to order a big pizza, buy some red wine …. go home, crawl onto bed propped up by pillows, laptop, tv, cats (don’t worry will share pizza with son who will probably watch with hubby upstairs – they are brave and will have sound on)!
He got a haircut. He looks fantastic!
You go get ‘em Mr. President!!!!
I just went to moveon.org to rsvp for the debate dashboard tonight and read some of the comments and saw a term I had never seen before: a commenter called another “infoxicated.” Love it!
I will not be watching the debate tonight. I will read comments here on TOD and on my Twitter Time line. I can’t stand listening to the Liar for even a second. I will miss listening to my lovely President though.
same here. Im going to follow along on twitter only.
My brain doesn’t work that fast anymore. I don’t think I can do that.
Not me. I’m gonna watch it on Current cable. It’s all Left wing taiking heads.
Same here. I will be at work. I hope to catch some replays here or on C-Span. Frankly, I like it that way because I can’t stomach listening to media pundits. Thy’ve already telegraphed their biases. So, I will not be surprised if they declare Romney the winner.
These talking heads don’t know what the hell they are talking about. I will more than likely watch it on C-Span and then maybe turn on MSNBC. I have a doctor appointment at 8:00am tomorrow. -:(
c-span for me, too. i cannot abide the chatter of commentators!
that’s what realized too. i switched the channel and am now watching a movie i wouldn’t be caught dead paying to see. then I’m gonna wash my hair and set it up for tomorrow.
ps- good luck with the doctor’s appointment.
You guys, let’s flood the #CantAfford4More twitter hashtag with our messages. It’s a hashtag Romney campaign paid $15K to promote!! Here are some examples:
Awesome! RT’d each!!
Thank you Rita ….
Bravo, Bravo, Bob! I hope your tweet will be shared widely.
Rip it bobfr!
I’m watching that Snow White and the Huntsmen movie with that horrible Kristen Stewart. she can’t act for shit.
lol
But she is cute, so is Charlize Theron.
Charlize is bona fide, absolutely grade A. the fact that she’s stuck in a movie with that troll doesn’t diminish her acting or her grace.
Welcome to Denver, Mr. President! We have your back!
saw what you will about the director’s morals, but the cinematography of Snow White and the Huntsman is amazing!!
Woohoo, made it home on time for the evening ahead. (left early). so full coverage on cspan so I don’t have to listen to those people?
Happy Birthday, Rev. Al! Keep up the good work!
Mmm, Mmm, Mmm, sure hope Myth faints dead away on meeting POTUS for the first time tonight! There is just no comparison, and that is not just my opinion, it is a FACT! PBO all Light and Kindness; Myth all Despair, hiding in the Dark.
Oh puh-leaze, are these guys for real. who the heck they think they fooling?
Restless Romney Braces For High-Stakes Debate
A sleepless night in Denver.
What a joke!
I literally laughed out loud, Lamh, they truly are pathetic!!!
Yes, I could hear your guffaw from here.
oh, no! poor widdle middy!
too funny the big bad train kept him awake. and you just know that means his whole staff was awake, too, worrying–will that wicked horn bother him again!? probably somebody had to sit by his bed and pat his hand all night.
what a spoiled, coddled monster he is!
That is so funny – did he sleep in a different house to the wife and children when the latter were young? The most sleep deprived I have EVER been was for the first 12 months of my babe’s life.
Romney knows nothing about anything – even Miss Ann could lecture him on sleep deprivation.
I have been working 60-70 hours a week since early March. Tomorrow is my 3 day off since July 5. Perhaps Myth would like to change places with me for a week. Nah, he wouldn’t make it through a week! Or, I would be happy to show him my tax returns…. What pizzes me, this cretin thinks he can bluff his way to election day, without releasing the returns, knowing he is going to lose anyway, and therefore no one will ever know how despicable and ruthless he really has been all these years. His money will never bring him joy, or strength, or peace, or love.
Pamela, he wouldn’t make it through the morning!!!
The Romney people are hilarious! If Romney does bad tonight his performance will be blamed on a freight train that deprived him of sleep.
yup.
Palin being late because the chauffeur didn’t know the way, Palin being dressed casually because her luggage got lost, Palin not knowing the answers because the questions were “gotcha” ones … God I can’t do this again. Just appoint our President to his second term and let’s get back to work already. This is a farce.
Well, he’ll get plenty of sleep after November 6, we will certainly help him!
Yadda yadda, more of the same…. BS. he’s scared sh*tless, and we all know it! As well he should be, pretending he is qualified to be president.
Have you ever seen a campaign this incompetent ? While President Obama and his team chose a resort away from the animation of Las Vegas, the Romney team managed to make their candidate sleep in a hotel where he could be disturbed by freight trains ???!!!! I hope someone some day writes the story of this pathetic campaign…
Well, since his campaign was reported to be in debt, maybe it was a Motel 6 (we’ll leave the lights on for you)? No offense btw to Motel 6′s.
Poor Mittens; such a delicate flower.
Do you think that leaking all this stuff is for the benefit of the President…to try to mess with his head…
What no penthouse?
OH. MAH. GAWD. You cannot make this crap up!! He probably stayed at some cheap hotel. What a complete IDIOT! I can’t stop laughing!
I wonder if it is just an attempt to downgrade the expectations. Story only (lie)? But then again who knows as the campaign seems pretty pathetic.
Will be in meetings the next several hours, so will likely not be able to even check twitter or here (except for 1 or 2 min at a time while on breaks) until ~ 8p PDT.
Relax & Enjoy is the best advice I can give you because I know our dear PBO will be enjoying himself immensely
#OutPerform1936
Yes We Can
Great advice Bob, we’ll catch ya later
Can’t y’all just picture a secret receiver in Mitt’s ear tonight? With a voice saying Smile, or Frown, or Look Sincere, or You’re Not Crying Are You, or Mention Daddy, or No No Don’t Face Mecca. Personally, I’m just waiting for his brain freeze moment. Oops.
somebody needs to block his view of miss ann from time to time, so we can watch him cry out for mommy.
I like that.
Anybody who thinks Robot can beat Obama in a debate is clearly an idiot. carry on…
the guy playing the huntsman is so fricking hawt!!!

Chuck Toad was all stoked on NBC news about the possibility of Romney introducing the subject of Libya tonight even tho it is supposed to be on domestic policy. He looked excited about it. And then they said Andrea Mitchell will be “fact checking” the debate tonight for MSNBC. If that isn’t reason enough to stay as far away from MSNBC as is humanly possible, I don’t know what is.
If I were married to Barack Obama and I was at that debate tonight, Valerie Jarrett’s job sitting next to me would be to physically hold me in my chair if Romney were to make any kind of remark towards my husband like McCain did with the “that one” remark in 2008, cause I would be coming out of that chair.
That’s the reason you ain’t. You’d make the SS work overtime protecting the world from you. I can see you turning into the Tasmanian Devil when ANYONE dissed you old man or kids!
Yeah, you right.
Hmmm. How do I know this?
hey, he can summit some more of those colorado peaks on the breaks, too!
Wahahaha now that is excellent! Lol….
I think no matter what happens the media will say that romney won the debate. It fits their ratings agenda.
You are absolutely right, Claire. Thank God I ma getting ready to go to work in an hour. No time to watch the media pundits.
WELL CLAIRE…THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WON’T BE ABLE TO DENY WHAT IS RIGHT BEFORE THEIR EYES…QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS ON A LIVE DEBATE…NO WAY THEY CAN TURN THAT!
Someone nailed it earlier—-they will say “Romney did what he needed to do”. The pundits and manipulators love that line.
Agreed. You always hit the nail on the head Dotster.
True, but the good news is everyonw who watches can see and think for themselves.
yes!
‘ A new Mass Insight poll in Massachusetts finds that Elizabeth Warren (D) is maintaining the edge on Sen. Scott Brown (R), 48% to 44%.
Key finding: “Fifty-two percent of those surveyed said that Massachusetts needs to elect a Democrat to help prevent the Senate from falling under control of the national Republican Party.” ‘
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2012/10/03/warren_maintains_lead_in_massachusetts.html
Yay!!! love her!
She’s just the best!
another happy snippet:
‘ The latest NBC News/WSJ/Telemundo poll finds President Obama leading Mitt Romney among Hispanic voters by 50 points, 70% to 20%.
“It appears that Romney’s comments that 47% of Americans are dependent on government took a toll on his standing with Hispanics. Romney’s favorability score has cratered with the group, with his negatives hitting an all-time high. Fifty-three percent now say they have a negative impression of Romney and just 23% say they have a positive one. That 30-point difference is 17 points worse than in August.” ‘
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2012/10/03/romney_craters_among_hispanic_voters.html
Dang, all that face paint wasted…..
Effect of Romney’s recent appearance at Univision ( or Telemundo I don’t remember…) ? First people have learned that he packed the audience with supporters. And then he used the words “illegal aliens” instead of “undocumented workers”: political malpractice…
Only by 50 percent? He’s leading 94 percent to 0 percent among African-Americans. Vamanos a coger el ritmo, amigos! Arriba!
Damn!!! Charlize is bad in this movie!!! she’s awesome!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOO….IT’S EXCITING….WILL BE CHEERING ON THE PRESIDENT TONITE…TWO WORDS TO DESCRIBE THIS DEBATE…’NO CONTEST!’…..GO PBO…4 MORE YEARS….THIS SEAT IS TAKEN!
Here’s a thought (although I’m not sure I believe Mitt couldn’t sleep because he was hearing a train whistle all night):
What’s this about the Tax Evader not sleeping? Great debate preparation…
That’s what his aides “let slip.” Something about a noisy train going by his hotel room. Sounds like a story that came from The Onion!
ohforcrissakes. And this idiot thinks he can be president? He wouldn’t get hired as hostess at Dennys.
If he is, tell me which Dennys, so I can avoid that one.
lol.
Oh my GOD. If his manicure isn’t right, would he cancel meetings with world leaders? How many whiny excuses can they make for this poor excuse for a human being?
And they’re certainly giving us lots of poor excuses in advance for his poor performance tonight. Let’s see: loud train, no sleep, manicure isn’t right (oh, I guess that was you!). Oh, and, like Ann said, maybe he’ll forget to take off his watch and write “Dad” on a piece of paper at the podium (another made-up story, sounds like) and jinx himself. Anyway, good grief.
An excuse in case he flubs up? Didn’t Ann say something too about if Mitt does not get enough rest?
That’s a bad Mariott (where Romney always stays—Mormon Bill Mariott big Romney donor and namesake)——right next to the railroad tracks.
Train tracks can really mess with robotic wiring.
Bill Mariott looks as spaced out as Mitt. Yuck.
Hahaaaa! I am glad i am getting these laughs before the debates cause I am a nervous wreck right now!
Chips – C-Span TV just showed these signs and building on their live feed. ONCE AGAIN WE SAW IT ON TOD FIRST! You rock.
Out POTUS looks FANTASTIC, strong and rested!!
Hi all – the most infuriating meme is ‘ PBO can be arrogant’. I want to punch the screen when idiots say that – there’s nothing arrogant about him – he’s confident but that’s an entirely different thing. Why don’t they just come out and say ‘uppity’ which is exactly what they mean. I mean heaven forbid that a black man can be smarter than everybody else!!! I mad.
They say he’s a black man who doesn’t know his place – but he will be remembered for 1000 years, while the idiots will long be forgotten
The fact that he’s smarter than everyone else and his calm demeanor——cannot be ruffled—–has driven them crazy, over the edge.

Freaking awesome.
I feel nervous but fired up! Looking forward to spending the night with you guys!
Damn Chips. This started me water works goin’.
Checking out the President’s plans
I got great news today from the Arizona Democratic Party. Richard Carmona is polling 3 points ahead of that RWNJ Jay Flake. This is Jon Kyl’s former seat. To have a Democratic Senater after all these years would be phenomenal!
Internals ? Good news anyway !
I’m going to send him a few bucks.
It would be AWESOME if he won!!!!
Please please pretty please let that lead hold.
Flake’s commercial showing the back of Obama’s head bugs me. Also him saying he’d repeal ObamaCares pisses me off. I hope he loses.
Our President doesn’t just talk, he walks
as well!
It isn’t really a debate when only one person understands the topic, and the other one has no idea what is going on, more like a debacle. What a waste of PBO’s time and energy to have to go through the motions of this Wanna-Be supposed ‘challenger’.
There ya go! That’s exactly how I feel, Pamela. The ONLY good thing is that we get to watch President Obama in action, once again.
I completely agree. But then the ENTIRE GOP has been wasting his time for 4 years haven’t they? I’ll never forgive them for the debt ceiling contrived crisis where POTUS had to stay in DC over the holiday after he had worked more hours and harder than any politic[an has ever worked in that town.
In a way the rest of this month in waiting is a waste of the President’s time. Willard should just drop out, go catch up on his sleep and his nerves and let those who know what they are doing get on with the business of governing.
Perfect assessment, girlfriend!
Ok, so this is my plan. I think I’ll skip watching the first 15 minutes and just hang with you guys. I’m the same way when the Lakers are in the playoffs. Then I’ll start watching and snarking on Twitter.
FIREDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD UPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
READY TO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I have my wine and cheese and crackers….
have the TV on mute…..tired of the experts…hahaha….
FORWARDDDDDDD>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I wish they would just start – it’s the waiting that’s now giving me a jumpy stomach. Maybe I’ll go read a book or something, maybe the Vanity Fair article that I finally picked up today. I. HATE. WAITING. That’s why I always have a book when I’m in line anywhere, makes the time pass more quickly.
“I wish they would just start – it’s the waiting that’s now giving me a jumpy stomach.”
+ 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
You too, eh? Once things are moving I’ll be fine, but 9pm is taking TOO LONG to get here!
Fortunately I’ll have to go to the bus station around 8pm to pick up offspring so that will take care of a few minutes.
Can I come with you VC, just to pass some time?
Text JUST came in – he’s 10 mins away. If you have your shoes on, let’s go. Heading downstairs to get my shoes on and grab the car keys. Meet you at the door.
Chips, WHERE are you? Don’t tell me you can’t find your shoes?
Pour a glass and chill out. Let it do what it does. You have no control!
I subscribe to Vanity Fair – the only magazine I subscribe to anymore. It’s fantastic with lots of good political articles in it (the last 2).
I haven’t subscribed to a magazine in years! I gave up when the next one would arrive before I’d taken the time to read the one before.
OK kids I’ve been napping all day so I can stay up for the debate! Got a while to go yet. I’ll check back with yez when it’s starting! I can’t wait to listen to PBO wipe the floor with this guy!

I can’t recall being this fired up before a Presidential debate. Not even in 2008. America is all worked up with excitement tonight.
Hi everyone! Soooo excited and pumped for tonight. Will try to watch and blog with all of you tonight. I got such a thrill watching the videos of peoplw who camped out at night to be in line for the first day of early voting as they would for a rock concert or the latest I-toy. They and we are excited because we are voting FOR someone and a set of ideals that are hopeful and inclusive, while the other side has only hate and fear.
I lit a candle for the first time; thanks Donna for the reminder.
I’ll be back at 9:00.
I lit a candle for the first time, too. It was a powerful experience. I do visualizations and send positive and healing energy, but I found a special power by lighting a candle.
I was just about to post this, so thanks Chips for beating me to it!!
PERFECT.
nice bwd! RT’d
OK, so is it hitting everyone yet that we’re about to have an election soon? FIRED UP, READY TO GO!! Donate, fundraise, volunteer!!

OFA live blogging the debate
The Big dawg is in the hooooooouse!
Woof, woof, woof!
I’m nervous.
hmmm. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a nervous drunken Irishman.
Barack Hussein Obama will make his entire African/Irish/German whatever else ancestry proud.
I trust Obama. I don’t trust Romney. :/
While cruising around waiting for this thing to start, Roger Simon over at Politico actually made me laugh out loud with this:
“Obama is so far ahead in the states where it counts that in order to turn things around, Romney probably would have to show up at the debates with a security camera tape of Obama sticking up a 7-Eleven last Sunday.
And I’m not sure even that would work.”

He’s the only one at that rag that I’m pretty sure is voting for PBO. In any event, take a look, it’s pretty funny.
Funny!
Two of my favorite MSNBC analysts.
I might check it out – thanks Hopefruit!
hey HF…what is the lean forward blog
http://leanforward.msnbc.com/
Thanks forus50 – I had stepped away for for a while.
Oh, I love them. What’s the blog address?
here you go bwd! http://leanforward.msnbc.com/
Thanks.
5 min break in meetings … Please take note that this is the 1st EVER TWITTER Presidential Debate and that is not at all trivial … TWEEPS will PREVAIL over MSN …. Enjoy …. back to meetings …
Our President’s anniversary tweet to FLOTUS got over 19K retweets, and 9K favorites.
Tweety can’t contain himself this evening.
Why do I feel like a member of my own family is taking part in this debate? Nervous but confident!
Well because he is- a member of our family
I’m nervous also… I know he’ll be exceptional- I never worry about his abilities, but always about the ‘cheating’ that takes place.. how the media sets it all up. Romney cannot hold a candle to POTUS’ smarts, accomplishments, capabilities… but that is not how media will spin it.
yes, totally. I think PBO has the intelligence and the accomplishments. It’ll be interesting to see the MSM spin…
oh they’ll all be spinning like tops after the debate.. what else have they got to do
Troubling stat—-
I am here on this blog to party with you while watching the debate. I am hoping you give me the courage to watch even though I have complete faith in PBO.
The debate is at the school my oldest daughter attended for both law school and her Masters. She liked being near skiing and getting a full ride academic scholarship. I enjoyed visiting her there. She is living and working in Munich, Germany now. She did live in DC for a few years right after school while working for a law firm there. She is the one I stayed with and went with to the ’08 Inauguration.
I have MSNBC on now but am switching to C-Span soon.
Gmama….will be watching cspan as well
Hi Obama Grandmama. Though I may not be watching, just blogging, I will be here. Let’s party!
I will be watching on C-span also.
New post everyone:
http://theobamadiary.com/2012/10/03/60-minutes-to-go/
just watched FLOTUS on Steve Harvey — fabulous!
