Good morning, late night because I couldn’t sleep. I dislike liars and their lying liars. Let the fact checks begin.
#PBO pulled back the curtain on the shallow, unhinged & dishonest Mitt & it’s ALL on YouTube. That’s a big WIN for AMERICA.

Yes #PBO pulled back the curtain on the shallow, unhinged & dishonest Mitt & it’s ALL on YouTube. That’s a big WIN for AMERICA.
Thank you Bobfr. Let’s all say it again: here’s the what’s so about the debate last evening: #PBO pulled back the curtain on the shallow, unhinged & dishonest Mitt & it’s ALL on YouTube. That’s a big WIN for AMERICA.
Thank you Sara. And, he succeeded brilliantly!
Now the President takes him down!!!!!!!!!! And, he is doing just that now ………… !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can’t believe it! Ok in honor my very first first, I will actually donate to whoever posts their FR link below. I normally donate on Friday’s, but what the heck.

OC, is that you on the podium? Congrats! Morning/Afternoon TODobots! Sticking my toe into the water – what’s it like?
Gunnite folks.
Remember amk’s new rule (or the oldest rule) – No CL’ing.
What’s this, Amk – you see me coming so you beat a hasty retreat?
Nah, handing over the baton to the capable hands.
Gunnite vc.
‘Night! Rest well. Catch you later.
I came in to look for you, my dear VC, left a message earlier… I did manage to sleep in on your command, now have a bloody headache and my back hurts! Am getting off in a minute or so, but will pop in from time to time, if my HotSpot does not run out of data! {{{{VC}}}}
Obama~Biden 2012!
{{{Pamela}}}
Now don’t tell me you were worrying about that extra bit of lying in WHILE YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE RELAXING? See, your poor head doesn’t know what to do with itself because it’s not used to being in ‘down’ mode. You’ll just have to teach both head and back how to behave in rest mode. You know, this is somewhat scarey, but you are confirming a phenomenon I noticed among former coworkers who seemed in ‘excellent’ health, worked tirelessly to retirement and months into their retirement ended up being diagnosed with major illnesses. I’m not kidding. Anyway, sorry to hear you are aching and hope it will go away soon so you can enjoy the rest of your short ‘vacay’.
Aww, you are so sweet, VC, but not to worry about this girl! I am in superb shape, I wake refreshed most days, and this state of overworking is only temporary. The lady is fading fast, she is alone and in need of the support I have to offer. Things will be changing soon, and it may all be over by Christmas. So, dearest, rather than worrying, you just keep me (and her) in your thoughts, surround us with Light and Love, and we will allow Life to take its own shape according to Plan! Okay? There is much strength to be gained in this level of service, Light Work has a way of sustaining the Light Worker. And I am not Alone. Love you, dear VC! {{{{VC}}}}
Okay.
Pamela,((((((Love you and Thank you.)))))))HZ
{{{{{I Love You Back, HZ}}}}}
Nite you, I’ll have yer milk ready later.

Morning, Pamela! Good timing, it seems.
Is lunch ready? Have you picked out a good spot to hear the Pres? I’m not quite ready as I haven’t checked the news of the day yet, but I’ll listen to PBO first I guess then go see what’s making the rounds after.
Done! I donated to both. Heck Mitt’s debate performance convinced me to exceed my donating budget lmao because he scared me even further.
{{{{{{{{Obamacrat}}}}}}} you are the bees knees!
It’s going to be very important for Obama to get back in rhythm and go after Romney for what he said in the debate. If he wants to limit any damage from a bad performance, it has to start today.
What bad performance. I didn’t see any bad performance. I saw a lying performance by Romney.
Thanks so much for your sage advice. I’m sure the Obama team really appreciates it, cause I sure as hell don’t.
/// I love how everyone is suddenly a political expert.
lisa, the political so call expert isn’t worth dog doo. Yes maybe President Obama could have hit back at Romney in some cases, but President Obama was not as bad as people claim he was, and Romney dam well wasn’t as good as they are saying.
I think many of those lamenting PBO’s debate performance did not actually watch the debate (or were not LISTENING). People are complaining about PBO not saying things that he did in FACT say. For example, the 47%. When PBO spoke of his late grandmother who was only able to live on her own in her later years because of Social Security and Medicare, he was speaking of the 47%. PBO demonstrated how through his life experience he understands how everyday Americans live. PBO did call out Mitt’s lies and flip flops, but they were so numerous, what could he realistically do? PBO forced Mitt to embrace “Voucher Care” and admit that he would drastically change Medicare for future recipients. THis is a political “Third Rail” that will hurt Mitt in the long run (as will all the lies and flip flops).
What makes some people think the President delivered a bad performance? Is it because he did not act like a jackass bully on speed, like Romney did?
He didn’t call Romney a liar to his face, and Romney called PBO a liar repeatedly. This is the ‘criticism’ in a nutshell.
I wish the whiny left would have PBO’s back FOR ONCE. There’s a good deal of decent pushback. Mitt is now the ‘better debater’. PBO can rope-a-dope him and Mitt lied and lied and lied.
But the God damned whiners. Oh my GOD.
Not a bad performance at all. An honest presentation of reality from our grounded super-competent President. Mitt fully exposed as the lying sweating BULLY he is.
Enough with this bullshyte about “bad performance.” ENOUGH! What the hell is wrong with you? Didn’t you hear all the LIES and FLIP-FLOPS that Mitt Romney spewed and which are going to be on RECORD for the rest of this campaign? This is a Presidential debate about SERIOUS and yes, complicated issues that affect real people’s lives.
Yet all you are concerned about is “performance?” This was not the SuperBowl or “Dancing With the Stars?”
Right On hopefruit2. Finally some truth, because the only truth I saw last night was from President Obama.
As my older daughter said to me this a.m.—–when calling in amazement after studying Romney’s 349 pages of foreign investments on his tax return, posted in earlier thread——people who praise Romney’s “performance” are reacting like 3rd graders, rewarding bombast and belligerence over truth and substance.
Indeed dotster3, and it’s highly frustrating coming from so-called Obama supporters who should know better.
I mean if Obama had walked over to Romney’s podium and given him nasty slap across his face while yelling “STFU you punk-ass LIAR”, I would have been cheering and whistling, but that emotional gratification would be short-lived because right now we (including PBO) would be all dealing with consequences.
Plus, the President does well as the “underdog”. People were about to start feeling sorry for Mitt, and the media would have turned on President Obama right when he needs people to be paying attention. This needs to be a clear choice – either a belligerent, lying, greedy, bully who doesn’t seem to have an ounce of credibility or integrity – and has a failed record as an elected official AFTER he gained all that so-called “business experience” versus a reasoned, honest, thoughtful, earnest, hard-working, serious, successful and caring man who actually wants to move this country forward for everybody – rich and poor and everyone in between.
I didn’t expect President Obama to drag himself into the gutter with Mitt Romney – President Obama is the President, and that style is just not who he is. But, I also expected that Romney would fail to rise to the occasion – and he met my expectation. He didn’t present a legitimate and honest conservative plan for evaluation – so the American public can choose whether they want this country to be a “you’re on your own” nation or “We, the people, of the United States of America” nation. If Romney had presented his actual plans – warts and all – people would have respect for him. As it is, only those who are entertained by reality television can have appreciated the spectacle of Romney lying openly, running against his own policies, trying to imitate Reagan and bullying poor Jim Lehrer.
Some may have wanted blood last night. I can only imagine what the media would have done with that. And I can only imagine what the media is going to do now, now that they’ve got the “horse race” they’ve been itching for, and the expectations have been raised for Romney just as we head into unscripted town hall and foreign policy territory. As Michelle has said “you underestimate Barack Obama at your own peril”.
PS, the President’s performance certainly was not bad. He was very presidential, and delivered what he has to say in a sober manner,
The President is not a performer. He did exactly what he needed to do – tell the truth and establish a vast contrast with the unhinged, pathological liar that is Mitt Romney.
He succeeded brilliantly.
Moreover, it isn’t only unhinged Mitt who had the curtain shredded last night and into this morning ….
You are correct Bob, the President is not a performer. As the incumbent, it was PBO’s job to defend his programs and he did what he needed to do. Romney’s job was to be the aggressor and he did that. But Romney did nothing to make anyone think he should replace POTUS in the WH. To all the emoprogs, it was not the President’s job to call out Romney on his lies, that was the moderator’s job. It was not PBO’s job to bring up new issues like women’s rights or immigration, that was the moderator’s job. The moderator let himself be bullied by Romeny. After the first Bush Kerry debate, I remember the complaints that Bush phoned it in, I see now that that is the strategy for an incumbent, John Kerry knew that, and since he was “Romney” in the debate prep, I have no doubt that this was the plan.
Bobfr, love you and appreciate you very much. You are brilliant. Did some RTs last evening. ((Love you))))HZ
it was not a bad performance to me and my friends who look at the debate last night.
Looking the American people in the eye and lying to them is not a good performance. Obama presented a vision for moving the country forward, Romney just told lies
The speech is live on YouTube:
Thank you, Chips.
Let’s move FORWARD.
Wooohooo! We get to listen to the most interesting leader on the planet. Thursday’s good.
If that is how Romney’s “wins” get covered, I’ll take a few more “wins” like that for him.
“Big Bird” is trending on Twitter right now and has been since last night. (Last night “Romney” was trending fourth. Now Romney is not trending at all.)
http://angryblackladychronicles.com/2012/10/04/mitt-romney-will-get-rid-of-pbs-jim-lehrer-and-big-bird/#more-78384
Don’t mess with Big Bird!
Okay, I’m going to be blunt here. But going forward, if anyone comes on this thread to attack and lob baseless criticisms of the President under the guise of “concern”, I’m going to openly question their motives and will insult them if I have to.
THIS!!! I’m so with you here, Hope. I’m sick of this shit. And since they are so fond of the idea of “calling” people out, I’m gonna give it to them exactly how I think, I’m not pulling any punches anymore. Stop contaminating this site with your PL, emoprog bullshit! Go to the other site for that shit.
I will join in. I am sick of people soming on here acting like they care when they don’t. Never had a good thing to say until now. All of a sudden we have political analysts galore that don’t know sheeet.
Thanks—-I will cheer you on. I don’t get it. People lost control over their faculties, all reason. And—–I am plum out of patience for dumb tweets from some familiar names on twitter also. Would not choose them for my foxhole, that’s for sure. Would abandon me at first sign of any distress, real or imagined. No loyalty.
Fair weather friends. Don’t need ‘em. It’s ride or die time. Can’t stand the heat? Get the fuck outta the kitchen.
and there you have it.
right there with you dotster3
I’m with you.
CRUSH THEM, hopefruit
Seriously.
Oh dear, does that mean I shouldn’t add, as I was about to, that I’m concerned the President hadn’t worn his orange and green tie – the one that makes him seem bold and presidential? And that he shouldn’t have smiled/grinned those couple of times he did because it made him seem helpless, not strong enough, and not taking the debate seriously? This is the only site I visit regularly so if I can’t say that here, WHERE am I going to be able to say it?
I agree! This should be a Chicken Little free zone. I watched the debate with Mitt muted and watched his facial expressions and body language; listened to the president’s clear exposition of his policies and debunking of the lies about Medicare and Obamacare. I thought he avoided the appearance of arrogance and bullying. Mitt wins the Olympic gold for lying, bullying, arrogance. I see our job as pushing back on all his lies, the threat of the GOP platform to the middle class, workers, women, Latinos, all people of color, LGBT; in fact, to anyone not in the top 0.01%. Let’s focus on the program Mitt promotes not his lies. Expose the lies and evasions rather than quarterbacking along with the pundiotis whose main concern is to create a horserace. Don’t they have some responsibility for pointing out the lies? I miss Al Giodano!
I’m with you on this. I was very upset reading some people’s freakouts. I had thought they would trust the President by now. Hasn’t he proven he’s got this already???
And honestly, other than Martin and Rev. Al, my msnbc watching is down to zero. I’ll listen to James Taylor in the car when Ed Schultz is on the radio. They learned NOTHING from their damage in 2010. They were disgraceful. I hear Lawrence wasn’t bad and Chris Hayes was better than usual, but I couldn’t stomach very much of it. My husband and I thought PBO won handily, and then the hubby went crazy and scared after watching msnbc.
I have not watched anything on Msnbc or CNN, or any of the news today. I have been right here at Obama Diary. I am so glad I can come here and let off some steam.
DITTO
I listened to an hour of Stephanie Miller this morning from 7-8am, and I was very nervous turning her on, because she’s got a couple of nervous nellies on her show (the Mooks). But, I was really pleasantly surprised. They saw right through Mitt’s nonsense, and played several sections of President Obama’s responses – standalone. He made a ton of excellent points, some of which I missed when I had to mute Mitt out of sheer self-preservation. I got out of the car whistling.
The fact is, when you listen tot he President and the substantive statements he made – that will cut through the nonsense, and are entirely consistent with who he is and what he’s been saying throughout this campaign, and even through his entire political career – you are even more confident than before in the rightness of him being President. He was spectacular, on point, and serious – as he should be.
I advise all those who got swept up in the theater of last night, and the pundit head explosions, to watch the debate again – or better yet, read the transcript. Either you’re serious about the future of this country, or you’re not.
I agree with all those who said he is not a performer. That’s true. He’s the President.
Yes, anniebella, I totally agree. I don’t watch the pundits. My reasoning is that the mainstream media is only out to make money and in order to do that they need a “horse race” and viewers. Don’t think that the pundits have not gotten orders from their top management to spin Mitt Romney as the winner of the debates. Or for that matter to cover him more exponentially than our Commander in Chief. It’s in their best interests to make a game out of the election, to make it into reality TV – and in doing this they get people riled up. They love this. I am not going to allow some talking head to dictate my thinking for me. I can clearly see and hear that our President is the best candidate for the job – he’s shown us his leadership, his concern for all Americans in the programs he has brought forth, his executive orders when the Congress has failed again and again to pass bills to get us out of the very difficult economic circumstances we are in through no fault of his own. And he has not given up, he continues to move forward – I admire that in a leader. Let’s all dust off our shoulders and keep on keeping on.
I am with u all the way! I didn’t waste my time on Shultz today.I was getting upset with TJMS until the comedian came on and said in general…what do these people want? If he goes in their house and mildly put them in their place,he is a loof or a dick! If he doesnt yell and scream, then he is weak. This has happened so many time that I can’t count them. I am looking forward to when his presidency is totally over in 2016 and then I will be thru with politics stuff in the US. Hopefully, my book will be published and I will glad relocate.
I’ve had it with the childish outbursts that masquerade as ‘analysis’ from Rachel, Ed and the ever-mercurial Tweety. Let them run for effing office if they think their Every Word should be obeyed by PBO. Can anyone remember the last time they actually liked one of PBO’s performances?
Ed Schultz lives in some la-la land where the POTUS would stand on every picket line like Life and governing is some two-bit movie. Rachel falls apart at the drop of a hat and loses all coherence. It’s a travesty.
And here’s my thing today: I can ‘see’ why people are not as happy with this debate performance as we all would have liked (my husband and I actually thought he won hands down so go figure), but I understand the criticisms, I really do. But for God’s sake, progressives, could you whiners just once listen to yourselves and have PBO’s back? I’m sorry Daddy was perfect enough for you, but could you crawl out of your whiny corners just once and support him and keep this long train on track? Do you have to do damage?
Now there’s healthy pushback of which I am proud and happy. But pick up the slack once in awhile, you whiners.
Thank God for TOD.

Thank you Axe! Romney may have his sights on the 2013 Tony Awards. But we the voters and our President have our sights on the 2012 election.
So glad we have Axe on our side.
hi TOD family. The MSM got me so upset last night I barely slept so once I woke up,I said my prayers and promised myself that I wasn’t going to watch the next for a few days.I have to confess to not watching the debate last night because I was afraid I would have thrown my remote at the tv screen hoping it would hit Mitt Romney in his lying mouth so I abstained.
I’ll check back at little later
Fred,
Hiya, Fred! The skirmishes don’t matter, it’s the war that counts and it’s ours to win. So tell the emoprogs to either grow a pair or step the fuck off, cause I’m not losing to that mofoing putz. No way, no how.
Hi Fred. Good to see you this morning as well. You take care and we will make it still with you because of your faithful prayers and meditations.
(((((( Hugs to you from my arms to yours))))))))HZ
That’s the attitude that will win. Fired up and ready to go.
The president did counter a number of Romney’s lies. Notably the one about taking money from Medicare (though Romney continued to repeat it) and Romney’s claim that he could cut tax rates and cut deductions and still be revenue neutral. The lies and flip flops not challenged were worrisome. But, if the president spent all of his time on them I don’t think he could have told his own story. I hope the debate performance can be used in ads to discredit Romney.
America is in bad shape when style and lying, is more important than telling and speaking the truth.
I know I’m in the minority but I don’t give a crap what Chuck Todd or Chris Matthews or Hayes or Maddow think about anything. I don’t surrender my intelligence or my belief in President Obama, our team and the American people to them. I know what their job is and I’m not buying what they’re selling. This is not a criticism of people who choose to watch their punditry. I’m just saying that there is no room in my world for this kind of manipulative distortion. I don’t have the stomach for it and I cannot have anything getting in the way of my work on the ground. So I do my best to stay focused on the electorate – reaching out to voters, gathering data and winning this election, nothing else.
All true.
#FORWARD
YES. YES. YES. Co-signed x1000
Amen to every word. I’m right in that minority with you, meta (have been for a long time). President Obama is not a mascot or performance artist and the pundit sportscasting is of no interest to me.
x 200% All of it!
I don’t think you’re in the minority meta. If people listened to MSNBAinCapital and other MSM pundiotry to make up their minds, Obama would be trailing Romney by double digits right now.
The “manipulative distortion” that you speak of is a serious problem in the media. For example, the fact that Nate Silver, a supposed statistical guru didn’t find the CNN rigged poll suspect before he included it as legitimate in his “analysis” last night is highly problematic for me. Even I (and others) felt that there was something amiss with that poll long before we found out that the sample was indeed grossly skewed towards white, male, conservative, and over age 50 voters.
I didn’t know that about Nate. Gawd, it’s just jaw-dropping mind-boggling crazy the way the spin happens. UGH.
Most information coming from corporate media is suspect. If you pull back the curtain, you will see the media is owned and controlled by big business and that includes MSNBC. The pundits(including liberal leaning ones) have to please their bosses.
THIS!!!
Yep! That’s Meta! #FORWARD all the way!
#PRESSON
Thanks meta for your word. I am one who just will not disregard the hard work for the young people who give up a time off from their studies to work to get this president elected and now re-elected. I will not disregard the hard work each volunteer puts in for all of us daily by phonebanking, door to door, talking to families and friends. I will not disregard those efforts.
I will not disregard all of the time that Chips and all of our TOD family members who stay with those on Twitter, Facebook and bring the excellent information through links to our site here. I respect all of you.
And lastly, I will not disregard the work that the OFA Team and POB’s team and the true surrogates who have a spine and are out there on the trial speaking the truth with the president.
So let us respect our space here with each other and be not discourage because POB is not like others. He is one of his kind. So be gentle on your spirits and replenish them with joyful facts, plenty of hope for our future and steadiness in our firm beliefs and change that we help to bring to Washington with POB.
(((((((((( We Got This)))))))))))HZ
You got it right, Meta. They are looking at it through a difference lense than we are. They want news, excitement, fighting. We want truth, solutions, answers and strength.
I’m in your minority, Meta. For the past few years I’ve followed a very simple, peace producing, blood pressure lowering motto: never listen to anyone who’s paid to talk.
Exactly! It’s reached toxic proportions.
Thank you so much, guys. I love our team. We are better together. xoxo.
This!
Morning peeps.
Just posted this further comment on my TPV piece:
Look, I’m not a highly paid pundit who makes his bread and butter pontificating on things political—whether or not he has any expertise in the subject. I’m just an ordinary citizen who keeps his eyes open.
There’s the pundit’s way of looking at things, and real people’s way. The “snap poll” from CNN was a joke; I’m actually surprised that they had the temerity to put out the crosstabs; they borrowed Romney’s playbook, that the facts don’t matter. Real people—ones who aren’t obsessed with the dagger fights of DC—will see Obama as calm and empathetic. Romney came off as a liar and a bully.
Again, I’m not a pundit. But I have watched Obama operate since 2007. Nothing is done without forethought. You’d think those on the left would have learned that by now. But as a society we’ve devolved to demanding instant gratification for all our desires. Change doesn’t happen in 24 hours—or 4 years. It’s a generational project. The Right at one time understood this; but, fortunately, they too have succumbed to the disease of immediate gratification. We have to be smarter and more patient if we want to win.
Wise words LL.
Thanks for sharing, Bill.
“…. You don’t say or do anything wild and crazy. You let your opponent jump up and down and make excitable noises. Which is precisely what Romney did. Some have read Romney’s stance as aggressive, others as pushy, but there’s one word that you’re unlikely to hear: “presidential.” Makes for good theatrics. But it won’t win you the White House.”
Yep, definitely not “presidential” more like Jack Nicholson in The Shining.
YouTube streaming has started
Anyone know where Miche is? Is she still in Colorado?
This crowd is FIRED UP! The introducing speaker is doing a fantastic job. It means diddly squat to her that Romney “performed” last night. Take that MSNBAinCapital PUNDIOTS!!
Loving the crowds, coming out in the cold for PBO!!
New pants? They are hugging his ass like nobody’s business!
Naughty mat, stat!
LL, I hope we will get out the Cocoa Butter and the Naughty mats real soon.HZ
New jacket and pants. Michelle and the girls must have gone shopping. He looks great.
Pfft! I can’t get the video; it’s marked “private” for some reason. Sad to miss the new pants and jacket!
Wooo … Lisa, you naughty girl! (Pssst .. where’s the picture?)
There’s that smile that put a smile on my face today !!
PBO taking Willard to the cleaners!!
HAHAHA…and there you have it..he’s attacking Mitt Romney’s flip-flops, lies etc on the stump speech
See, he’s got his arsenal, firing. Perfect timing !! Doubters beware !!
POTUS telling it now folks…” that guy on stage last night”
tellllllllllllllllll the story PBO….
OK FOLKS …. Turn it on and listen … and NOW you know, if you didn’t already, just how BRILLIANT this President is ….
PBO came out swinging!
The President came out swinging. He even brught up Big Bird. Big Bird rd that helped my daughter learn her numbers and colors. That Big Bird. No way will that man get a chance to get rid of Big Bird and Oscar and my favorite Cookie Monster.
“If you want to be President of the United States, you have to tell the American people the truth.” -President Barack Obama
Something tells me the gloves are off. Willard unwittingly baited the tiger.
I don’t know how the man didn’t smell a set up. PO handed him the rope and stepped back and the fool walked right into it.
The media want us to forget about the 47% percent. I am one of the 47% Romney has such disdain for in his famous video were he spoke to millionaires and billionairies.
If you want to be President, you owe us, the American people the TRUTH. Hear that media. The truth, not style.
Oh, LL, we in the Twitterverse, have proven over the past 24 h we are, as you noted, the ‘media’ we have been awaiting … and we are relentless and our PBO knows it
I’ve been critical of Obama’s debate performance, but his opening lines in this speech in Denver rocked. Mocking the ‘man who claimed to be Mitt Romney’ vs. the ‘real Mitt Romney’. Hope that theme continues and makes its way into ads. That could really turn Mitt’s shining moment from a positive to a negative. Prez needs to work on the export products and outsource fewer jobs line though. He flubbed it for the second time in 2 weeks but recovered in the same breath. I would take that line out. The speech needs to get shorter and simpler.
Honestly I and other people here don’t value your critique of the President. If you are so good at this, why don’t you run yourself.
Better still, why not apply for a job at the campaign in Chicago. We do not have applications here. Just saying, but really do mean it. Why are so many people always trying to tell POB what to say and do and not telling Mitt to Stop lying to the American people. HZ
lololol go ahead HZ. Git ‘em
I hope you are doing well. Fearless tigress.
The only thing that shined in that debate besides President Obama’s brilliance was the blinding glare from all of #UnhingedMitt’s lies ….
Moreover …
Again, thanks for the sagacity. What would Team Obama do without you? Please take this shit and flush it down the toilet where it belongs.
Sage Jones, I doubt that the Obama campaign comes on to TOD for advice…so I suggest that if you have some burning pieces of wisdom that you want to share with the campaign, send the message directly to Jim Messina/David Axelrod/OFA/White House/Barack Obama, etc…
Otherwise save the concern trolling for another blog site.
I actually do not mind your comments. Critique is not the same as criticism which is basically cynicism. We all have our druthers, but atleast you do not discount the effectiveness of his campaign, or issue ultimatums.
Beat me to it. I don’t mind people having different opinions. It is obvious where the commenter’s allegiances lie. And, in fact, is being pretty optimistic right now. Although the PBO campaign is pretty smart, as is PBO, nobody is perfect and I know they, themselves, unlike some people, don’t mind an honest critique.
The debates are only one part of a larger political strategy. That’s always been the case because debates have mixed results in determining election outcome.
Honestly, Romney did not have a shiny moment last night. I’m saying this because he’s said some things that his hard right base don’t like. How can they rally around him when he’s given them more reason to be suspicious of him?
The level of lying done by Romney during the debate is something I’ve never seen before. I’ve never seen a candidate (of either party) with 99% of what they said during a debate be full of lies.
Yes, style is important, but with no substance to back it up, what do you got? And what use is style if the candidate is not likeable?Likeablity helps people get away with lying.
See, PBO is already on it! He’s making the contrast between “the fellow on the stage” compared to the real Romeny. Expect to see Mrs of this!
I do wish he had said that last night – “who is this guy on stage with me?”
Big Bird!!
“Elmo too ?” Splendid
Those were the two words my son texted to me last night! We cracked up via txt!
“Thank God someone is getting tough on Big Bird!”
Romney will pay for his 5 trillion dollar tax cut for the rich, by going after Big Bird. But that won the debate., according to the media.
Picking on Big Bird.
Just wait until he gets to Mad Town. That crowd is going to be raucous!!
Obama going to make those paid pundit and Media look like a fool. For the 100 time it Obama vs the Media the republican party power. He have to make the media look foolish in order to get to the republicans because the media is the republican party
Oh and BTW, that eerie smile he displayed when Romney just told him flat out I’m going to cream your job and your whole pansy network was just BIZARRE.
Sorry, I was talking about Jim Lehrer!
wasn’t that some BS meta? Who the hell does that? Tells the man to his face, I like you but “your’e fired”.
At that moment, I saw all those workers who he made build the stage so they (Willard and crew) could walk out on it and tell them, they were out of a job. The man isn’t human.
THAT’S MY POTUS.
Just talked with two of my staff. They said what we’ve been saying. Romney: rude, angry, lying. Obama: calm, cool, making his points.
Chips – this speech is PURE GOLD … you are going to have so many nuggets to shape into your cool videos
hahahahaha….
the guy who was playing Mitt Ronmey on stage last night……PBO
Chips, I’m calling bullshit concern troller alert. Some armchair politico is contaminating the site with his/her/its so called advice. I sure as shit don’t need it, don’t want it and don’t need to buy g-damn the t-shirt
http://www.thepeoplesview.net/2012/10/dear-angry-white-men-of-professional.html
I have been saying this for a while, but the angry white men on the Professional Left need to take a chill pill. Please quit losing your crap every time Barack Obama fails to run his campaign according to your considered advice. Please try to realize that he’s in the order of magnitude smarter than you, more cool and collected than you in crisis (this was the man that lead us out of a second Great Depression and gave the order to take out bin Laden), and frankly, far more politically astute than you (see President of the United States, first African American). Stop yelling at him, and start doing your jobs. Now would be a good time..
Keep calling them out … I sure will …. and, as you know, I’m a white guy
#FORWARD
(((bob))
PODIUM SLAP AND A “HEY!!”
He is telling it just like it happened and making Robney look stupid.
Of course, the media cuts him off, because Cristie told the media the Race would have a new meaning Thursday Morning. Sure enough.
I still cannot believe the whole MSM listened to Cristie and his Meme.
Anyways, it’s hood the President is talking directly to the People and going around the Media, even though they are not showing his speeches and continuing their propaganda.
I’m glad he mentioned the debate in his speech and he’ll be talking about it some more in his speech this afternoon!! It’s at the point where the MSM’s rantings are largely irrelevant to voters.
On another note, Your iphone does have a hood sense of humor
Hood! In the hood! Jeeze. My I phone is crazy!
I still cannot believe the whole MSM listened to Cristie and his Meme.
For the 100 time the media is the republican party power.
I can not get my husband or son to see that … and they are very intelligent men, I thought more intelligent than I am, but now I am not so sure; I think I may be smarter just not as confident. But I am growing more confident as more and more of my perspectives are born out in this campaign; like I had a feeling Eastwood was playing a part and doing it his way and it conveyed a message … just not a message for the Republican Party.
Get ready Madison …. the man is bring’n it, big time ….
PBO ~Smacks~ the podium…
heard across the country…
I love how POTUS went after the guy pretending to be Mitt Romney. And Big Bird being responsible for our debt, LOL.
I guess some folks like a cowboy agressive stance. Remember Bush and his “bring it on” statement? Problem is–that kind of stuff doesn’t work in this world, unless you like going to war. The idea of a bully in the White House scares me to death. I was watching MSNBC after the debate and got completely sick of their comments.
Remember the old song “Come Rain or Come Shine?” The last few times I’ve watched PBO speak it is the song playing in the back of my mind and today he paraphrased the significant lyrics: I’m with you always, i’m with you come rain or come shine.”
Whether you voted for me or not. I will not let you down. I’m with you and for you and together we can make this world a better place.
I’m looking forward to our President slamming Flip-flop debate Mitt some more at his University of Wisconsin speech this afternoon!!!
I wish 4pm would come now! Seriouly.
Yes, Yes, Lisa. I am with you. I have my monthly budget ledger waiting on my desk, but my mind is elsewhere now. I need to make the space so that I can exit. I just feel my time is not here yet, so I will be waiting for the WI speech.
Will get it done because I am phonebanking on Sat. I will get into the right space at the right time. HZ
Do anyone remember when Mitt said we don’t need more teachers fire fighters, and police officers?
So message for the pundunces:”suck it mofos!”
Okay- so we all know that a debate is not a stump speech. Last night ObamaGrandma commented that a debate is a cerebral experience & not a boxing match (although she phrased it better
) Today POTUS ‘boxed’ Romney in his own smart, savvy, hillarious way… and he did it in the right place & right time.
Thanks, UT! Was hoping you’d post your tweets!
Ok got a chance to jump back in, but must leave again. Catching up on the thread, heard the last part of PBO speech. All is still well in the universe. Funniest thing I heard on twitter was someone tweeted Elmo, ‘watch out, you’re next!’ Then @elmo tweeted back, “Elmo know this, already prepared.”
Keep up the good work y’all. Remember Mitt still has to attend his rally with Ryan. He still can’t do it on his own. I’m listening again to the CSPAN callers after PBO’s speech and the callers are calm and informative and very much in PBO’s corner for the most part. Repubs are still using talking points. Lastly, remember PBO was talking to only 4-5% of the undecided and indie voters in 4-5 swing states. He was not talking to us, nor Mitt’s folks. He did fine and he continues to amaze.
HAHAA..let those debate ads starting rolling out…while the pundiots were yapping last night, this is what the O-team was preparing!!
[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eV5m1NxffEs&version=3&hl=en_US&rel=0%5D
Has this post debate ad been posted? Good one!
Thanks dotster – I was trying post the video but it wouldn’t embed for some strange reason!
Thank you!
If we can’t trust him here…how could we ever trust him there…BOOM!
So true Big Bird. If I were you, I’d be out canvassing for Obama from here till Election Day on Sesame Street
Going big after Medicare fraud. I keep seeing charges on news sites across the country. Multiple arrests in Florida.
Dotster3, the DOJ has been doing a great job with Medicare fraud for the last three years. Major. Check their web page. I have had to share my announcements with a lot of my senior friends. Major shout outs to HHS. and DOJ with the leadership of our president.HZ
Freaking fantastic. They’ve been on the ball regarding Medicare fraud.
Mockery and ridicule. PBO uses them like no other.
HOLY SHIT! Has anyone seen Gallup!
What’s the news? You’re not telling us what they said.
PBO is at 54% approval in today’s Gallup tracker!
Obama at 54% approval.
Oh my fucking God!!!! 4 point uptick in approval!!!!!!!
YEP! Took the words out of my mouth, LL! We The People!
BTW, I really liked your TPV article! As always!
I freaking loooove our team. You give a politician like Mitt enough rope, he’ll hang himself.
Oh Bravo, the Obama Campaign are already started hitting the liar on his lies.
Gallup has Obama at 54% approval….
What is cool is that he went from 50/44 (a six point difference) to 54/42 (a twelve point difference). This means he pulled in some of those “No opinion” people. Will be interesting to see in a couple days what it is like.
MSNBC has finally cured my addiction. Chris Matthews and Ed Schultz were so offensive last night.
They really turned me off. They made absolute asses of themselves and single, er double-handedly freed up my day.
T.V. is off. Now I can get back to reading my books, writing letters and doing all manner of stuff I used to enjoy.
Frankly, I saw little difference in the ugly theatrics of Matthews and Ed and Limbaugh. At least Limbaugh will stand up for his candidate, not our side, with their self-righteous, smug and arrogant intellectual superiority.
It took a focus group of thinking Americans to call the debate for Obama, as posted on an earlier thread. They were weak democrats and independents, and they saw what these pundits could not see: It was substance versus plastic and shiny object rhetoric.
Of course we wanted PBO to flatten Romney, but in the end the truth wins out. Romney told the truth over and over again: He is a liar.
PBO did not have to do it. If that makes him look weak, then so were Ghandi, King, and Jesus.
When Peter wanted Jesus to forcefully stand up to the rulers of their day, to take the kingdom, Jesus called him Satan. told him to get behind him. Peter, Ed, and Chris understand/stood only one way of winning. Our president could care less about their way.
If you don’t believe me, look at the crowds in Denver, freezing and screaming for a truly awesome leader.
Love TOD. Try not to fight so much. Negative energy drags you down, is self-defeating. Make up your own minds about things,
All the pundits are doing is expressing their opinions. From what I read here and in other places, their thinking is not better than yourS and mine.
Trust the good sense God gave you, and let us get out and re-elect this man.
Can I say how wise and beautiful this is? Bless you !!
what a wonderful post. you are very correct in that the pundit wants to change the race, but the people are steadfast. in fact if we had listen to them in 2008, he would not win. no weapon that form against him shall prosper
You are absolutely right! Thanks. Remember Bain owns a piece of MSNBC.
Excellent post!
Thank You
Eve..
Beautifully said, Eva. Thanks.
Obama wins! Analysis by debate coach of last night:
http://recessappointment.com/2012/10/04/counter-narrative-barack-obama-succeeded-what/
If anyone listened to Steph Cutter or PBO you would have known that they were going to give this debate to Mitt the shit . They for warned us. We did not listen or thought it was a joke. There were 40 million viewers watching per pundits the next debate might be 80 million watching. Again like I said this brilliant man is the Pres. and knows what he is doing. So all the Monday morning quarterbacks and back seat drivers think brfore you drink and drive.
The Dow is less than 500 points from 14,000. I wanted it to get there before Nov 6 but it’s close enough! All time historic DOW high was 14,164.
Seniors and middle aged are/should be thankful for POTUS bringing this economy and their life savings back.
For those who were disappointed in PBO’s performance last night, something to remember. Just prior to the debate he had a conference call with NATO leaders on the situation between Turkey and Syria. As one commenter at BJ said, it was like someone saying “Happy anniversary/debate day, Mr. President. Possible hot war on line two.”
When you are the uncumbent, a lot of things need your attention. Romney only had to focus on the debate.
Uncumbent should read as incumbent. And I can’t even use Jovie’s iPhone excuse.
Everybody has fat fingers. See it all the time at the library when people are inputting their library card number to log in to our computers.
Mine aren’t fat. I am just the poster boy for the uncoordinated.
LOL! Uncumbent = Mitt Romney when he was a Gov in MA.
True, that.
“Performance” is a no-no on the board today
Though I understand the opinion of the commenters, a performance is what experts call a debate showing. We can’t get hung up on benign wording.
late commenting, but want to respond to your statement about ‘hot war on line two’. while watching pbo last night, i kept wondering if he had something big on his mind. the annoying insect which is myth robmey wouldn’t shut up, of course. but pbo not only had to spend the day and the week and the years before this debate governing in the most dire situation of our time, but he would have to do that again as soon as he left the debate stage, and probably all night. if robmey won the tap dance contest, well, bully for him. he’s had nothing to do for years but to practice those slick steps, and count his money.
Cute!
When I got on stage last night, I met this spirited fellow who claimed to be Mitt Romney. that my very cool obama, not this angry black man the media trying to pin on him.
Yep !
I love Axe. HZ
Biden us gioing to rip Ryan a new backside. Biden can say things to him that the President dare not say to Romney if he wants the white vote. Miss Ann Dunha didn’t raise no fool.
Anyone wondering if Team Obama didn’t score the knock-out punch just to keep the GOP Super Pac money in the Presidential swing states instead of re-directed to go after vulnerable Dem Congress? LOL, I know that sounds like a rwnj conspiracy theory in reverse but it does have some merit. Team Obama makes them think Liar Romney can still win swing states. Anyone?
As in thrown the “fight”, so to speak? Quite possible.
It’s disheartening for me to see how some people still allow the media to suck them into false narratives even after knowing how dishonest and unprofessional they’ve become over the years. Anyone with a modicum of intelligence must know by now that the media wants a close race that allows Romney to be victorious without caring one iota about how detrimental that would be to the people. The media reaction to the liar, and unscrupulous human being that is Mitt Romney doesn’t surprise me because I could’ve predicted this. Most of us saw it a mile away when they kept raising the stakes high for him in the hope that they would rewrite a new come back story for him. All Mitt had to do was talk fast and say whatever he liked without falling on his face, and the media was gonna call it a win for him. But, unfortunately for them and Mitt, they’ve underestimated the majority of the electorate. This is not the 1980′s or even the 90′s anymore. We do not get our news source from just television and newspapers alone. There are other available channels of information out there for us to make informed decisions for ourselves without being spoon-fed propaganda. Mitt has also forgotten about a little thing called ‘YouTube. All the lies that spewed out of his mouth yesterday are not going to go unchallenged in the coming days.
I also want people to remember that the same media that is currently going gaga over Mittens debate performance also thought the pick of Paul Ryan as VP candidate was a genius pick. They also thought Ryan gave an outstanding RNC speech, and some thought Sarah Palin was a positive game changer for McCain at the time too. We all know how everything turned out. So, let the media continue to manufacture a ‘come back’ storyline for Mitt Romney. They will be left with their mouth open in a few weeks when Romney number fails to move up in the polls, and they’re are relegated to mounting another comeback chapter for their guy.
In the meantime, I hope we grow a pair, and stop the chicken little reactions that have become prevalent among democrats when things don’t turn out the way we’d hope. Why do we allow ourselves to get sucked in into the games that the media likes to play? I thought we are smarter than that. I thought our side know better than to give the media the ammunition needed to make the story instead of reporting the story. Like I stated earlier, I expected the media reaction because they were going to do whatever necessary to help Mitt regardless. What I did not expect was the reaction of so called democrats and Obama supporters who should know better than to fall prey to the media unscrupulous games. Newsflash–the media is not on our side, and they will never be on our side. This election is not going to be won by the media, or the debates. It’s going to be won through phonebanking, canvassing, talking to our friends and neighbors, and getting out the vote on election day. So, buckle up and keep fighting the good fight for the future we want for ourselves, children, and grandchildren.
Thanks !
Thanks LL and Dotster. The sky is not falling and our guy is still winning even in a polling agency the GOP loves to quote.
p.s. He was at 50% before the debate and is now at 54% after the debate. Team Obama’s ground game is proving fruitful.
I doubt today’s tracking numbers include last night’s debate; but the good news how WELL PBO was doing before the debate.
PBO has learned DimMitt’s ‘strengths’ and weaknesses. The insta-polls (except that outrageous CNN poll) of undecideds give a blueprint for what the campaign needs to work on. And Mitt is still unlikable. And a liar.
Now THAT is tweeting perfection. Love it!
Ain’t that grand?
Bring it over to the new thread
!
Alrighty.
Hahahahah…just what every voter wants in a president.
@EDP4BHO
For some reason, I cannotvrespond directly to posts. Hope you see this.
I read your reply and appreciate it very much. We have a great guy, a truly great guy.
Yes. We. Do.
Any human being with morals and sound judgment would NOT have pick Romney the winner because he LIED! He didnt tell the truth one time. Some in the media is so shallow and unfocused and blood thirsty that what Romeny did last night was a win?!!???!!! Those folks need Jesus and if they don’t want to seek Him, he has created professional doctors to treat those illnesses.
Dick Cheney has some horrible plaque. Good God, see a dentist! http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/10/04/1139966/-Romney-celebrates-debate-performance-by-citing-non-partisan-analysis-from-Cheney-backed-think-tank
Does anybody know why Word Press won’t allow me to post directly to a reply. The reply area shows up gray and will not allow keyboard to function.
Love the new TRUST ad. And they have material for 30 more. Hope they keep pumping them out. As to MSNBC, I hope we all make them pay in ratings. The only ones I’ll watch after their hysteria last night is Martin Bashir and Rev Al. I had several others set on my DVR and they have now been deleted. I have not been able to stand Chris Matthews for quite some time but I agree with the poster above, last night he was WORSE than Rush Limbaugh. Never again.
Just in- Cookie Monster endorses Obama.
