Fired up? Damned straight!
Congratulations LL on # 1, and shipmate yardarm on #2!
Hey, so long as Chelski don’t take your lead and finish first – – all’s good
Tsk tsk, jealousy is so unbecoming in a fair Irish lass.
Wanna step outside, Mister?
Ah, a face made for radio.
He’s only got more beautiful with the passing years….
I see his balding trend wasn’t just a flash in the pan. EGADS!
Hey, nothing wrong with being bald. I’m quite sexy bald. Now, spending 50K to get a ferret on your head is a whole other matter.
Oi, you think I didn’t hear ya?
… Ready To Go!!!
Again? Whaaa? Are you on iPad?
top 10 again.
Yardarm, for consistent top 10 finishes you deserve a watery pic. I salute ya!
That’s nice for a photo-op but I prefer something with big engines that could do over 30 knots, eh?
Sheesh, so ungrateful.
I’m not well up on these things – will this do over 30 knots?
Uuuhhhh! I don’t think so. Too much paint.
Crikey, such fussiness!
Okay, I think I’ve got it right now:
YOU ARE SO WRONG! I think there’s a medical term for what you have.
Laughing out Loud here, Ms Chips! : )))
Where’s the mat?
Earlier, I gave to the DCCC. Now I get this email from them:
Boehner wasn’t expecting this:
Yesterday, his Super PAC allies announced that they’re dumping an avalanche of cash to save the Republican House majority. We set a $500,000 goal to fight back against Republican lies, and as of 4pm, we’re only $39,000 away from hitting it!

We’re close to pulling the Triple Crown! If you can give to the DCCC, send them some coin. We have to have a Dem House for a Dem President.
Did it this morning, LL. $25 tripled by some rich democrat to $75. So this happened THREE times in the past six weeks. $75 x 3 x 3 = $225, Right? Surely it did some good. I’ve got to admire the DCCC for their persistence — it really is important, no question.
I know the president will get re-elected, perhaps even in a landslide, but a few months ago I realized he had to have a friendly congress to get anything the hell done and so I started giving extra for the House and senate. I wanted to live long enough to see the best president since FDR take his second oath of office — and with a democratic congress.
Perhaps it’ll happen. I’m still mowing the 1 + acre of lawn on this place, no problems except age and arthritis.
Sorry, my math is a little off up there. But. Still good.
Great to see you Joan, how are you doing?
Slowly pulling out of various ills, thanks for asking.
Joan, so sorry to hear you’ve been ill, I hope you’ll be back to full strength very soon – (selfishly) we need you! Take care of yourself.
Will the REAL Mitt Romney please stand up?
No, no, no… we want him to sit down & shutup or better yet, just go away.
I’d say that old Mitt is stomping on his ‘privates’ with a pair of old track shoes.
Watching PBO on CBS …. well, it’s supposed to be coming up…..
Hmmm. PBO has a little 5:00 shadow. Looks sexy…..
Remainder will be tonight on Nightline.
Romney to be interviewed in near future (barf! – won’t be watching that).
News Flash: COURT PUTS SOUTH CAROLINA VOTER ID LAW ON HOLD UNTIL AFTER ELECTION | A three-judge panel rejected South Carolina’s request that it reinstate a state voter identification law for the 2012 elections. The law had been denied pre-clearance by the U.S. Department of Justice for violating the Voting Rights Act. Much like the recent Pennsylvania decision, the panel ruled that the law may go into effect after this year, but implementing it this close to the November elections would have potentially discriminatory effects on minority voters.
Update: In addition to blocking the law for 2012, the opinion also notably ruled in future elections, voters will not be required to show a photo ID. “Voters with the non-photo voter registration card that sufficed to vote under preexisting law may still vote without a photo ID,” the panel wrote, “Those voters simply must sign an affidavit at the polling place and list the reason that they have not obtained a photo ID. The unanimous opinion was written by Judge Brett Kavanaugh, a prominent conservative judge viewed as a likely potential Supreme Court pick in a Republican administration.
Amen. Great news.
So, who watched last night’s PBS special on the election? Was it good? A few of you were talking about it, but I crashed pretty early.
UT watched it and gave a very nice summary here:
Why The Obama Foreign Donation ‘Scandal’ Is Pure Fiction
Despite significant right-wing hype, a new report by the conservative Government Accountability Institute (GAI) on the potential for foreign nationals to illegally contribute to U.S. political campaigns does not actually find any evidence of foreign nationals successfully donating to the Obama campaign. Still, a wide array of conservative and mainstream publications have incorrectly reported that the report documents foreign donors giving to the President’s re-election. [... more in the article]
What Everyone Needs To Know Before Watching The VP Debate
Anyone else having weird things happen with Twitter? I was suddenly logged out, and now it wants me to reset my password – WTF?
I hope your account is not hacked. It should not be asking you to reset your password. That sounds like phishing to me.
yeah I know.
Careful you might be hacked.
That happened to me last week. Twitter thinks maybe you’ve been hi-jacked.
But I don’t click links in DMs – so… ????
Flip, only just caught up Tally, are Twitter messing you about too?!
I don’t think Tally is in Bobfr territory. Sounds like she was hacked.
Ah, thanks LL – hope you get it sorted very soon Tally.
One minute I was on, the next I was off. Never had that happen. Like my Mac just instantly vanished my Twitter cookies. And I wasn’t sent to some fake twitter land…. So I went through the Twitter security – send me a new password reset – and I’m back. WACKY.
Email Twitter and explain your situation. It does sound rather “phishy” to me.
mine too Tally. I could not get in at all.
I got an email that some website tried to link to my twitter without permission, so they shut it down. check your email.
Rev Al is really highlighting Mitt’s lies during the debate. I wish the other MSNBC pundits would do the same instead of taking the easy way out and attacking PBO.
The MSM has this new term for a bald-faced lie. It’s called ‘modified’ position statement!
Oh yeah, BO is bringing it. As I said, next week we will see a very polite, very courteous decapitation of Willard.
Oh I can’t wait till the next debate. Mitt Romney, be prepared to meet Barack Obama. You will not get away with your lies this time. And when President Obama kick Mitt’s ass I don’t want to hear the media try to stick up for Romney after the President kick his lying ass. Excuse my english folks.
No need to apologize … your English is just fine with us! And I second your comments!
this is what sickens me w/ the media… her snide question: “did he lie” such utter games. Of course he lied, and if she was any kind of a journalist- she wouldn’t need to ask the question, but its allll about getting POTUS to say it. Good on him for not playing her game.
Exactly, Sherijr! I am sick and tired of the media games and manipulations. She knows Romney lied, but she tries to manipulate the President to say Romney lied so that it becomes a headline that others can attack the President on for not being presidential.
agree nath… this is what has put me off tv news/pundits for 4 years.
Daine Sawyer shames herself. She’s only after the soundbite of President Obama calling Mitt Romney a liar. She could have done her own research to see the nine different positions that Mitt Romney has held on abortion rights. She chooses instead to state that his last position (the one before Romney’s campaign walked it back) was his real and only position, and then to repeatedly ask the President whether he wants to call Romney a liar – as though the President is the one in the wrong here. This snippet is all I need to see to know I don’t want to watch any more.
Excellent! and it’s on a local news station too where regular folks can see for themselves.
Just a quick heads up: Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown in their third and final debate tonight at 7PM ET on CSPAN ONE TV and livestreamed on CSPAN
Correction, this not their final debate – their fourth debate will be on Oct 30th.
Just made phone calls for Rob Zerban in Wisconsin. I would say 30% of people were strong Ryan, 10% not home, the rest strong Democrat. Hopefully, we will get rid of Ryan for good Nov6th!
So let it be written; so let it be DONE!
Appeals court reinstates Montana’s campaign finance limits
Less than a day after a lower court struck down a Montana state law that places a cap on campaign contributions by groups and individuals, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals intervened, restoring the state laws for the time being.
Montana is ground zero for the nation’s legal battle over “Citizens United,” a controversial Supreme Court decision that classifies campaign contributions as free speech and lets anonymous donors spend unlimited money trying to influence U.S. elections. In Montana, the ruling conflicted with numerous state laws, which conservatives have been picking off one by one ever since.
The most recent to fall was Montana’s cap on total campaign contributions, struck down a week ago by U.S. District Judge Charles Lovell. That 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, however, put that decision on hold Tuesday night, asking the judge for more information on his reasoning while they consider an appeal… [more in the article]
Go Tammy Duckworth!
Duckworth rips Walsh over ‘dress’ attack: Mostly I’ve worn one color – camoflage
I CANNOT wait until that awful man is defeated!!!! He has no business being in Congress.
“He has no business being in Congress.” Honey, the list of people for whom that description fits is so long… [fill in the blank]
Tammy Duckworth is way up in the polls. YAY!!!
Then I hope he goes to jail for not paying his back child support.
I totally co-sign your statement, Carolyn

DEMOCRATS ARE “PRO-FAMILY PLANNING” – REPUBLICANS ARE “ANTI-FAMILY PLANNING”
3 More Words And Phrases Democrats Should Start Universally Using — And — A Call To Action
By Jill W. Klausen – March 26, 2012
1. Stop using “Privatize” and start saying “Profitize.”
2. Never, ever say “Gun Control laws” again. From now on, only talk about “Gun Responsibility laws.”
3. Never say, “Pro-Life,” even if you are attempting to debunk it or call out its dangers. Instead say the other side is “Anti-Family Planning” and Democrats are “Pro-Family Planning.”

Thanks for the above ads to preview. I liked all of them except for the one with Ryan in it as he was not saying what was in his budget or beliefs but the samething our side was saying. It left me confused even when reading something about inspite of what he says at the end of the ad. I think they needed footage with him saying what he believes not his scrubbed version. It was not as impactful this way.
Pres. Obama had his game face on for the interview with Sawyer. Can’t wait for the next debate.

So far only a snippet of video, but more about the interview can be found here:
squeee. thanks babe!!
These are FANTASTIC!! Great job ut!
Brilliant tweetin’ UT!
She was a bit snarky with him on-and-off. I’ll be interested to see if she treats Romney the same way.
Let Joe be Joe. There could not be a more perfect response! Loving it. Gotta remember to use my “Cup of Joe” Biden mug I got for donating to his V.P. campaign tomorrow!
Daisydem, I am pulling mine out too on Thursaday. Unfortunately, I will be at work during the debate because I am on the West Coast (CA). I hope to watch a C-Span replay of the debate. I will fill my “Cup of Joe” with the beverage appropriate for the occasion.
Did she really expect him to say “No” when she asked if he thought he’d win? He has to be SOOOO over the MSM crap.
I’ll bet he knows his smile drives ‘em batty.
I’m so glad that waiter was courageous enough to say “thank you” to President Obama. He probably needed to hear that.

I missed the President’s interview with Diane Sawyer…thought it would be toward the end of the broadcast and we were eating, evidently it was toward the beginning. Will we have some clips here? And, did I read that it will be on Nightline?
Love that!!! BD Wong ROCKS!!
Warren is off to a good start in the debate. She just knocked down Brown’s lies about ObamaCare and Medicare.
Crisp, cool answers, packed with simple truths and facts – she’s doing great!
Keep the updates flowing. Thanks…
How is Liz Warren doing? Anyone? Bueller?
I think she’s much crisper tonight Jovie, briefer and to the point. Of course, Brown is his usual repulsive, slick self.
Scott Brown doesn’t seem to realize that ObamaCare is not a dirty word in MA.
North Carolina campaign ad features vaginal probe
North Carolina state Senate candidate Deb Butler has released a new ad that slams Republican incumbent Thom Goolsby for supporting anti-abortion legislation.
“He wouldn’t dare show you this, but this is Thom Goolsby’s contribution to women’s health,” Butler says in the ad, holding a trans-vaginal ultrasound wand. “A medically unnecessary and invasive procedure that is now required by state law. He promised us his first priority would be jobs, but instead he’s following us into the doctor’s office.”
Her campaign said it may be the first ever appearance of a trans-vaginal ultrasound wand in a political ad.
Alright NC Women – pay attention!
The Florida trip means Pres Obama will be airborne returning to DC when the VP Debate gets underway. Of course AF-1 receives TV signals.— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) October 10, 2012
Well of course AF-1 has tv reception, what’s his point?
Why yes they do Mark … we already knows he watches his fave tv “Homeland” or sports to unwind on the plane if he is not reading or talking to very important heads of states from other countries, so of course he will tune in to watch “Joe being Joe” as he fondly put it to Diane Sawyer. IDIOT!
Affirmative Action @ Supe Ct. today. Rev Al was there & said his take on his show. It was Sotomayor v. Scalia! Thank you PBO. Elections have consequences! Pls excuse typos — on smartphone.
Tough call given that they have the world’s worst example of affirmative action sitting on the bench.
I suspect that PBO being who he is may not call out mitt as a lair to his face. if not then he should find a way to say the same thing for instance:
If I had a say, I would hope that in the next debate, PBO can ask people directly the following question: If you are considering voting for my opponent, you first have to ask your self, WHICH mitt will you be voting for? He can then go ahead and ask is it the romney who is for abortion today or against it tommorrow? is it mitt for teacher today or mitt against teachers the last 4 years etc
OFF-TOPIC: Ohio State Marching Band tribute to video games
I don’t even play video games and I thought this was COOL!!
that creativity (similar to that shown when they perform Script Ohio) is one of the reasons we in the Buckeye State call it “The Best Damn Band In The Land”
I’d pay money just to see that band!
The galloping horse around 6:07 was AWESOME!
Scott Brown doesn’t understand that the line item veto doesn’t exist for the President. Oh my goodness…..someone needs a Govt. lesson.
I love the fact the audience is allowed to show emotion. So far seems to be pro Warren. Really hope the audience is able to show some emotion during the 10/16 debate.
One person (Brown Supporter) was booing very loudly early on – but I suspect they either sent her out, or she decided to STFU after Scott Brown embarrassed her.
A pretty little girl named Suzy was standing on the sidewalk in front of her home.
Next to her was a basket containing a number of tiny creatures; in her hand was a sign announcing FREE KITTENS.
Suddenly a line of big black cars pulled up beside her. Out of the lead car stepped a tall, grinning man.
“Hi there little girl, I’m Mitt Romney. What do you have in the basket?” he asked.
“Kittens,” little Suzy said.
“How old are they?” asked Romney.
Suzy replied, “They’re so young, their eyes aren’t even open yet.”
“And what kind of kittens are they?”
“Republicans,” answered Suzy with a smile.
Romney was delighted. As soon as he returned to his car, he called his PR chief and told him about the little girl and the kittens.
Recognizing the perfect photo op, the two men agreed that the candidate should return the next day; and in front of the assembled media, have the girl talk about her discerning kittens.
So the next day, Suzy was again standing on the sidewalk with her basket of ” FREE KITTENS,” when another motorcade pulled up, this time followed by vans from ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN.
Cameras and audio equipment were quickly set up, then Romney got out of his limo and walked over to little Suzy.
“Hello, again,” he said, “I’d love it if you would tell all my friends out there what kind of kittens you’re giving away.”
“Yes sir,” Suzy said. “They’re Democrats.”
Taken by surprise, the candidate stammered, “But…but…yesterday, you told me they were Republicans.”
Little Suzy smiled and said, “I know…but today, they have their eyes open!
Glad you liked it.

#GishGallopingMitt managed to gallop himself back to the #ModerateMitt that his base DETESTS. Will he now champion Planned Parenthood? #tcot— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 10, 2012
He seems to be using the term “hiding” to encompass both Romney’s change in positions and flat out lies. Says he’s “hiding” what he believes and his policies. That works, and actually is pretty good as it gets at the deception component as well. I think it also gets across the implication that Romney thinks we’re too stupid to notice. I like it!
Yes, hiding is a good choice. It has many negative connotations that work on the not conscious level. How many of us HID things from our parents…..??? It starts early, and never has a good result. In fact, the more I think about it, the better the word “hiding” is. Don’t call him a liar, he’d whine and Miss Ann would throw a temper tantrum on FOX, and pundits would come down on him, but “hiding” on the surface seems benign, but it is not.
I can hear my mother now, “are you hiding something from me?” Yep, good strategy. It worked for my mother.
Firefox, it also throws the “childish” charge Romney and his evil spawn leveled against the president. Children hide to avoid confrontations and “being found out” by mom or dad.
omg. we need to start the official elizabeth warren for president 2016 campaign right now! she is incredible!
scott brown: “i’m glad grover norquist agrees with me (talking about the tax pledge)” d’oh!!
Okay, can we lobby for Julian Castro for V.P. on the ticket? Huh? Huh? Please.
i’m interested in him. personally, jury is out a little on him yet for me. want to see him in action a little more, but so far so good. he’d be about paul ryan’s age in 2016, i think?
I guess; I just think he is so cool … and passionate and such a democrat! And well, I had said my ideal candidacy for President and/or V.P. in 2016 would include a Hispanic and/or a gay person. You see I want this country to be truly represented and to honestly go forth as one America. Plus I really want the GOP to totally implode (it is close) and go away forever.
I would love to see him become Lt. Governor (has more power than Governor) and help turn Texas Blue again. Then run for the Presidency or U.S. Senate.
Yes, yes, yes!!
He’s got plenty of time. That’s quite a jump from Mayor of San Antonio to VP.
I think I’d rather see Martin O’Malley or Deval Patrick in the mix.
Or two women on the ticket would be SWEET: Susan Rice. DWS. One of the female generals perhaps?

It was hers and her husband.
I’m going to vote when it opens, next Thursday, YAHOOOO!…I was afraid to mail anything in in this state…..Afraid they would just throw them in the garbage can.
I will call and ask them if they have recieved the ballots. And I will ask them if they put down some kind of proof that they got the absentee ballots.

I was about to ban you for that mistake Jovie, you corrected it just in time.
LOL! I know with all these English Teachers online… Also, maybe they can help me straighten out my Longfellow?
Love that Jovie, retweeted!
notice how warren is constantly embracing president obama and his policies!! i can’t remember seeing someone quite this good at a debate. she’s amazing!!
I was just about to post the same thing! She came out very forcefully for PBO and denounced Mitt Romney. Brown’s supporters were a bit unsettled by that!
I agree. She is very astute and clear spoken.
Warren points out that Brown voted against a pro-choice Supreme Court Justice (Elena Kagan), voted against equal pay for equal work, voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act.
PPP is saying that Gary Johnson is pulling more voters from the President than Robney, as such new Mexico is now a tossup.
That’s why the RNC filed a lawsuit and lost trying to keep Gary Johnson Off the ballots nationwide.
This is more bullshit. A libertarian that says no to the federal government, is pulling more democrats than republicans????
Jovie, I think that PPP poll is about Nevada, not New Mexico.
But on Politico 44 they say it is new Mexico
Thru just changed it to nevada

Bravo, Chipsticks! Brilliant tweet!
Warren is kicking ass in the debate. Her grasp of issues domestic and foreign makes her formidable.
Warren: “I support Pres. Obama as Commander-In-Chief and I do not want Mitt Romney in that job.” KAPOW!
Right on Senator to be Warren.
That was one of the best lines of the night (in addition her substantive knowledge of the issues). Be afraid Scott, be very afraid.
Nevada: Obama 51, Romney 47 and Heller 47, Berkley 44. Full results coming up— PublicPolicyPolling (@ppppolls) October 10, 2012
Latino decisions says the President is doing a lot better than what PPP is saying with Latinos.
In Nevada and new Mexico, PPP says that Latinos support Robney 32%!
PPP has been very questionable in the past week – and I’m not just referring to their polling. They’ve been very unprofessional and snarky towards the President and Obama supporters. They blocked me just because I responded to their tweet about Elizabeth Warren and PBO’s debate performance. I responded that Elizabeth Warren has been lifted in the polls because she embraces PBO’s policies and stellar record as President over the last 3.5 years. I also tweeted them that Scott Brown is being dragged down by Mitt Romney’s bad record and poor campaign. I guess they didn’t like what I had to say to they blocked me. They also blocked BWD for the same petty reasons.
They are being paid some money??? Change of demographics, it’s all about the moolah!
That’s because of the likely voter screen. As far as I’m concerned, that’s just fine. The polls in 2010 in NV between Harry Reid and Sharon Angle were off by a full 8 points for this reason.
Is the Harry Reid machine in gull gear to help in the Senate race ? Because there is a chance of a democratic pick-up there…
“full” gear. Sorry for the typo.
warren just did one of the best explanations of the relationship between republican ideology and how that hurts the military as i’ve ever heard. she and president obama are making this election about burying trickle down economics once and for all, and starting a resurgence of what it means to be a citizen! omg. i want to vote for her for president right now!! seriously.
I’m glad that Warren is doing well, and I hope other Democrats in Congress follow her lead in supporting the President. But, I would advise against putting her name in for President until she’s proven herself in Congress. It’s one thing to speak well, and I’m confident that she’d be a staunch Democrat, once elected. But, if we start plotting 2016, (distracting us from this election, by the way), then we do a disservice to other candidates who may come forward within the next four years that may be equally worthy. We also do a disservice to Elizabeth Warren – who is running for Senate, not President – and probably wants to do that job well before people start plotting her future for her.
She’s been great during this campaign. I am hoping she wins, and I wish her well in her Senate career. I’ve even donated to her. And if she chooses to throw her hat in the ring, then she’s sure to have a ton of support. But, let’s focus on this President and this election at this time. We owe him that.
Elizabeth Warren’s closing statement had me whooping it up. She is fan-fucking-tastic. Massachusetts needs to get this right and vote for her.
i don’t want to sound like too much of a fan-boy, but warren’s debate performance tonight was one of the best i’ve ever seen. didn’t matter what topic it was, she was going deep into detail, staying on the overall message, repeating her main talking points, reacting in real time to the moderator and brown without ever missing a beat, and often finishing her answers ahead of the time in the clocks that were pointed at them!! it was like the moderator didn’t know what to do. i’m kind of stunned by how good she was, and i was already a huge fan before this. wow.
I concur. Warren had the perfect balance of stating her position and highlighting her knowledge of substantive policy issues, and contrasting that with Brown’s disingenuous voting record on important issues like jobs bill, women’s health, supreme court justice etc. She also stuck up boldly and forcefully for her President and denounced Mitt Romney.
Thank you Mr. Castro. Now, can we talk about 2016 …. hmmmm?
Thank you Elizabeth Warren for bringing up the GROVER NORQUIST NO TAX PLEDGE. Every Democrat should be hammering the Republicans about this travesty. How do you take an oath to the support and defend the Constitution and then turn around and take another oath to some guy named Grover Norquist. This man has more power than the president and he alone has rendered our government dysfunctional by holding congress members hostage with the threat of a primary challenge if they don’t do his bidding. WHO VOTED FOR GROVER NORQUIST ANYWAY?? What does it say about the members of congress WHO HAVE RELINQUISHED THEIR JUDGMENT TO GROVER NORQUIST. How can you have DUAL ALLEGIANCES?? This just makes a mockery of our democracy. Throw the bums out. We need independent thinkers in congress who will work for the common good of all Americans and not be a lacky for outside interests.
I’m so happy and proud of her. The Senate needs her badly. Congress needs her badly. I think she’s going to inspire many other democrats to speak out.
I’m pretty sure that the news of her fantastic debate will spread among all the apparatus of the democratic party and candidates will watch the whole thing on CSPAN. Even President Obama and VP Biden.

Here’s another stunner Dudette:
Hey, Mitt. It’s Not Just Big Bird, It’s 21,000 Jobs

The presidential campaigns continue to duel over Mitt Romney’s pledge to gut the funding future of public broadcasting. Today, Mitt Romney responded to the Obama campaign’s new “Big Bird” ad by once again missing the point regarding public broadcasting’s economic benefits to the nation.
While campaigning today, Romney said in response to the Obama ad, “You have to scratch your head when the president spends the last week talking about saving Big Bird….I actually think we need to have a president who talks about saving the American people and saving good jobs.”
CWA Senior Director George Kohl says:
Well, Mr. Romney, federal funding of public broadcasting directly supports 21,000 good American jobs in over 1,300 local radio and television stations across the nation. A candidate touting job creation and economic growth as his top priorities, as Mr. Romney does, should recognize the tremendous positive contribution of public broadcasting on both topics.
As CWA pointed out last week, federal investment in public broadcasting is the epitome of a successful public/private partnership—the federal investment in public broadcasting acts as seed money for local stations, which leverage every $1 of federal investment to raise over $6. All together, federal funding for public broadcasting contributes more than $1 billion to the national economy, for less than $1.40 per American.
CWA, which represents approximately 1,000 public broadcasting employees across the nation, provides a look at the key numbers demonstrating the economic and jobs benefits related to the popular federal investment in public broadcasting:
21,000: This is the number of jobs that public broadcasting directly supports—jobs that would be at risk if Romney followed through on his threat to de-fund public broadcasting.
1,300: These 21,000 jobs are dispersed throughout 1,300 local radio and TV stations across the nation.
More than $1 billion: In addition to its harder-to-quantify, but beneficial impact on children’s educational advancement, federal funding for public broadcasting generates a substantial bang for its taxpayer buck, contributing more than $1 billion to the national economy at a cost of just $1.39 per American.
6:1: Federal investment in public broadcasting acts as seed money for local stations, which leverage every $1 of federal investment to raise over $6—the epitome of a successful public/private partnership.
69%: A February 2011 poll by Hart Research/American Viewpoint found that 69% of American voters across the political spectrum (83% of Democrats, 69% of Independents and 56% of Republicans) opposed eliminating funding for public broadcasting.
Zero: A 2007 U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) report concluded that another source of funds does not exist to fill the void that would be left if federal funding for public broadcasting were reduced or eliminated.

So Willard Mitt Romney tells us that he is a success, its easy when you start with Dad’s money and dad’s contacts (kinda like Trump) and did not do it on your own, but ok, success.
Willard Milton Romney tells us that Bain was his first success, a company without a product (unlike Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Henry Ford, Thomas Edison among others who created jobs by the success of their products). What’s even funnier is Bain owns “Clear Channel” who has under contract both “Rush Limbaugh” and “Glen Beck”, how do you think they will do after the election. Bain preyed on weak companies and their goal was to take these companies into bankruptcy (Willard still gets a check from Bain) not to mention the jobs that were outsourced or their dealings with RED CHINA, but ok maybe Willard did not know that Bain was in to that, sure, why not, right?
Willard Milton Romney then tells us that his second success is 2002 Winter Olympics. All 2002 Winter Olympics financials have been destroyed, but ok lets take his word, success.
This is Willard Milton Romney calling card that what our country needs now is someone like him a supposed successful business man. This “Business Success” and how that will translate into “Public Sector” success has already been tested in Massachusetts.
But what did we see he was governor of Massachusetts, his one and only public sector job? If you look at the majority of his statements as to why he should be governor of Massachusetts, they almost mirror his current ones, mainly “I am a successful business man”. But when we look at Massachusetts, it was an ordinary mediocrity, to the point that he could only survive one term, that how good this guy was, but ok according to him he was a success.
Did you catch his foreign policy chicken hawk speech, priceless.
Now he wants the top public sector job, hmmm, no not on my watch!
