#Sensata is now trending on Twitter.

  7. October 15, 2012 at 5:53 pm

I think the Sensata story will be “one more nail,” even though Romney can credibly (for the first time) claim he wasn’t involved. But since he still has stock and benefits from Bain’s actions, and he also made the Bain methodology, it’s going to stick to him.

    • October 15, 2012 at 6:00 pm

      Hi Norbrook,
He has a controlling interest and we have no idea how involved he is because he has his personal attorney managing his trust fund so he’s protected by virtue of attorney, client privilege of actual disclosure of his involvement in decisions. Moreover, we have Mitt, in his own words, deriding the very notion of a ‘blind trust.’ The guy is a control freak of the 1st order, as well. So, I see zero ‘credibility’ in anything he claims about his involvement in #Sensata or any other corporation in which he’s vested.
      Just my opinion, of course,
And, great to ‘see’ you :)

not still has stock Norbrook. He has 51%. Controlling interest.

    • October 15, 2012 at 6:07 pm

Hi Norbrook, what amazes me about this story is that Romney had the neck to try to bring China in to the campaign. Seriously, what was he thinking of??

    • October 15, 2012 at 6:54 pm

If Romney can dare to blame President Obama for the tragedy in Libya, then he should have to own this Sensata scandal – even if he didn’t know one whit of it – simply because Romney is benefiting from this Sensata tragedy.

nail him on the 47 percent mark. In fact bash him on every single thing that Romney says. Ask him which Mitt Romney is speaking exactly, etc.

Although I don’t believe that political debates are usually the means to win elections I think in tight races it can cost you. Not trying to be an alarmist as I believe PBO will win this election. I just worry some…

        Gallup non lucid explanation-

UPDATE 2: Gallup emails with a statement from editor in chief Frank Newport, who defends the ways it screens likely voters. “Gallup’s likely voter model predicted a slightly more Democratic outcome than the actual result in the 2008 and 2004 presidential elections (i.e., predicted Obama winning by a slightly larger margin than he won by, and predicted Bush winning by a slightly lower margin than he won by).  In both presidential elections the likely voter model was more predictive than the registered voter model.”

        All spin!

        • 58 hopefruit2
          October 15, 2012 at 6:46 pm

He’s comparing apples and oranges. Polls served a different purpose in 2004 and even 2008 than they have in 2012. They were used less to influence voters and more to report about actual voter opinion. Since Obama got elected, the polling industry has turned into business all by itself. These polling companies are funding and subsidized by special interests and are rigged to bring about outcomes that would benefit the bottom lines of these special interests. Gallup alone has polled PBO 84 times in a two-year period compared to 4-7 times for the last 5 presidents before him.

We want to see the actual formula they are using to determine who is a likely voter this year. We will not be satisfied with anything else.

Sure could have done without Carl Bernstein’s deep thoughts on Rev. Al—–that Obama revealed himself as “arrogant” and “diffident” at the last debate, confirming perceptions.
Yes, confirming the perceptions of old, jealous (white) guys, like Carl Bernstein.

I only tuned in @ about 6:30. I caught Bernstein lay all the work on the president to point out Mitt’s mendacity. The rev pointed out media fail, and B went on about people only listening to news that reaffirms their POV, sometimes from unreliabe sources. Oh and after seeming to speak out against the notion of both sides do it, he then went on to say that both sides do it.

Right after he refused to call out his breathen (media) I muted for a few, then thought sorry Rev Al, not today. I turned the channel. I would take the media pointing out every lie or exaggeration, on either “side”. Just give us the truth most of the time. Sheesh!

    The Associated Press reports:

Administration officials say the White House has put special operations strike forces on standby and moved drones into the skies above Africa, ready to hit militant targets from Libya to Mali, if U.S. investigators can find the al-Qaida-linked group responsible for the death of the U.S. ambassador in Libya.

But the officials say the administration also is weighing whether the short-term payoff of being able to claim retribution against al-Qaida is worth the risk that such strikes would be ineffective and rile governments in the region.

Details were provided by three current and one former administration official, as well as an analyst who was approached by the White House for help. All four spoke only on condition of anonymity.

When I hear pundits scream there is no enthusiasm among voters in this election, I want to smack them hard. Poll after poll show that a high number of registered and likely voters are paying close attention to the candidates positions and are excited to vote. Texas normally has low voter registration and now THIS. This bodes well for down ticket Democrats.

MITT ROMNEY WILL SAY AND DO ANYTHING TO CLOSE A DEAL – OR AN ELECTION.

Romney Is Attacked by His Father’s Longtime Aide

    By MICHAEL BARBARO

    ——————————————-

A longtime aide to George W. Romney issued a harshly worded critique of Mitt Romney, accusing him of shifting political positions in “erratic and startling ways” and failing to live up to the distinguished record of his father, the former governor of Michigan.

Walter De Vries, who worked for the senior Mr. Romney throughout the 1960s, wrote that Mitt Romney’s bid for the White House was “a far cry from the kind of campaign and conduct, as a public servant, I saw during the seven years I worked in George Romney’s campaigns and served him as governor.”

“While it seems that Mitt would say and do anything to close a deal – or an election,” he wrote, “George Romney’s strength as a politician and public officeholder was his ability and determination to develop and hold consistent policy positions over his life.”

Since World War Two, manufacturing jobs have grown under Democratic presidents and faced more challenges under Republicans, a new study reported on Monday.
Democratic presidents presided over estimated employment rise of 7 million in the manufacturing sector over the course of seven administrations; In nine administrations, Republicans saw a fall of manufacturing jobs by an estimated 9 million. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the bucks stops with her when it comes to who is blame for a deadly assault on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi.

“I take responsibility” for what happened on September 11, Clinton said in an interview with CNN’s Elise Labott soon after arriving in Lima, Peru for a visit. The interview, one of a series given to U.S. television networks Monday night, were the first she has given about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

Clinton insisted President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden are not involved in security decisions, Clinton said…
