Hopefully C-Span will have it all soon
Congrats on first…..me & Bruce go way back…..love him!
Bruce: a man, his guitar, and the truth.
It was good! But I saw a tweet from Cspan saying that the Obama campaign only allowed them to show 3min so I’m wondering if they will even put of a full video?
Bruce was just perfect. I was singing along and had a smile on my face. He’s like The Beatles in that his songs are timeless. That’s good music. No matter how young or old you are, Springsteen speaks to everyone.
This was one of the sweetest moments of Pres. Obama’s rally in Manchester, New Hampshire.

RT @Chris_Moody: Obama senior adviser says the methodology behind Gallup's poll showing Romney leading is "terrible" yhoo.it/RTsXIg— Jeff Gauvin (@JeffersonObama) October 18, 2012
In 2008, the O campaign leaked their own poll internals just days before the election. They should do it this time too, say a week before the polls.
The polls are crazy, plus we’ve been flooded by a plethora of questionable polls immediately after the first debate.
What we need to do is pretend the polls don’t exist and spend every waking hour contacting friends, relatives and voters.
GOTV: that’s how we win.
Glad Team Obama is setting the record straight about Gallup’s shameful polling. Some of us predicted after the second debate that the MSM would further tinker with polling models to CREATE some good news for Mitt. The MSM (including pollsters who are part of the MSM) are pathetic in their bias and bullshit. Don’t believe Gallup or any poll without checking crosstabs. Don’t make the MSM’s job of propping up Mitt’s candidacy easier by falling for this blatantly skewed polling. The fact that Gallup and others find it necessary to drastically and indefensibly alter polling methods to CREATE results favorable to Mitt should be proof that PBO is winning. If Mitt were really surging, such underhanded and shady tactics would not be necessary.
Daily reminder ….
18 Oct – #Mitt's still hiding his tax returns, Amnesty for his UBS tax evasion, & lying about everything else + Ann confirms he's unstable.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 18, 2012
This is the second time Ann has publicly said her husband is unstable. Is the media ever going to comment on this? I realize they are corporate owed, but if any one even cares a little about this country, they should question someone who could put the country in danger.
She did it again? Anybody got a video clip to pass around?
It’ll be part of her #TheView performance along with son Josh confirming daddy needs mommy to stabilize him … UT has her typical excellent tweets on the event …
Hint to #Mitt – it appears you've spared Ann all your campaign can afford but we're grateful to know she's concerned for your Mental Status.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 18, 2012
It’s the same media who was prepared to put Sarah Palin a heartbeat away from the nuclear launch codes. They don’t care.
Now for some details: Six songs and the comments between woven together to tell a story of a country that is hurt, and healing, and the great President who knows what has to be done.
First song: No Retreat, No Surrender. Next, Promised Land. Between was a glowing testimonial to PBO , who Bruce says , “feels the pain of the inequality in his bones.”
Then some laughs about a fake campaign song called “Forward.”
Back to bleak. Youngstown, about mining and loss in Ohio.
We Take Care of Our Own which Bruce sung contemplatively as it is written—more about the gap between how we like to think of our country and how it actually is for so many of us.
his Land is Your Land—again, as it was written, including the verses that were banned for decades.
And finally, with audience participation, Thunder Road.
Too much info?
No! that was a great replay and interpretation!
Excellent! Thank you for the recap – can’t watch at work today.

I couldn’t find the pieces or my tools. Sorry.
Hi all, hi again VC….I responded to you 2 threads ago….as I was on wrong thread. Does anyone have the Obama /China tweet or info about PBO’s connection. I saw it recently, & someone said they were “concerned” after hearing Romney compare Obama’s connection being same as his…it was in someone’s tweets somewhere….
Just more #BainMitt bs, pugeretto. An IL government employee pension fund had some Sensata equity in its portfolio – no surprise given that Sensata, until Mitt’s buddies wrecked the place, was an IL-based company, i.e., Freeport, IL. Zero equivalency to Mitt’s ownership and ongoing profiteering from Sensata, including benefiting from it being outsourced to China.
Thank you Bob for the explanation.
This doesn’t ring a bell for me, Pugeretto, so I can’t help.
Thanks anyway VC….get some rest tonight.
PBO’s IL Pension Fund includes Sensata. I think they said it was similar to a Mutual Fund with many funds in it run by the Pension. It was not an individually invested fund where PBO would have any control over it. Romney might counter his is in a blind trust but earlier in his life he made a statement that blind trusts are a ruse as the candidate can influence the person in charge by setting their guidelines upfront. Tricky to make but ads can do it easier than speaking IMO.
Thank you Obama Grandmama for the explanation, I’ll forward the information.

I enjoy looking at the Gallup poll these days. PBO approval up, improvement in RV but Romney improving in LV? It is actually humorous. Specially when Rasmussen shows PBO leading in swing states and only gives Romney +2 in LV. When Gallup shows a better GOP result than Ras you know it is totally screwed up. I don’t even worry about their crosstabs anymore.
Ok, I know I appear stupid but what is LV and RV?

Democratic Senate candidate Tim Kaine is running several points ahead of President Barack Obama in the state of Virginia, leading Republican George Allen by 5 points even as the presidential race remains effectively tied, according to a survey taken for the League of Conservation Voters.
The LCV poll, conducted by Public Policy Polling and shared with POLITICO, found Kaine taking 50 percent of the vote to Allen’s 45 percent. Obama and Romney, meanwhile, are within a point of each other at 49 percent to 48 percent, respectively.
Both Virginia Senate candidates are viewed favorably — Kaine’s positives are 7 points higher than his negatives, while Allen’s numbers are 8 points in the right direction. But Kaine comes out ahead, pollster Tom Jensen writes, “thanks to wide leads with women (57/37), African Americans (89/6), other nonwhite voters (57/32), and voters under 30 (53/36).”
The full polling memo is here and crosstabs are here. LCV and other Democratic-leaning groups have invested heavily in the race, including an $800,000 mail program from LCV for the final weeks of the race.

Great advice Chips. These b.s. polls are designed to shape reality and discourage democrats. We would be wise to not fall for the MSM/GOP’s mind games.
It continues to confound reason how half of this nation is planning to vote for a well-known vulture capitalist to run our national economy — to make critical decisions that impact American jobs and the stability of the free world in the wake of a disastrous recession that was precipitated in part by similarly nefarious investments. This is a man whose most frequently used business model was to buy a company, rack up massive debt in its name to buy other companies, bankrupt it, fire its workers and then walk away with significant personal profit. That’s literally the “bust out” Henry Hill describes in Goodfellas.
Whenever I hear low-information voters derp their way through a word salad about how Romney’s business experience makes him qualified to be president, I want to ask them, “What part of his business experience exactly?” Dennis Miller said that Romney’s skill set makes him an expert at fixing things. He didn’t fix anything at Dade and only used the company to finance other acquisitions and to enrich his personal array of offshore tax shelters.
My advice to anyone who’s thinking about voting for Romney to be the steward of our economy is very simply this: don’t walk away, run. Mitt Romney is an awful and immoral man whose record proves he wouldn’t lose a wink of sleep while doing whatever he needs to, no matter how twisted, to help one person: Mitt Romney.
Lots more here: http://thedailybanter.com/2012/10/mitt-romney-is-neither-a-good-nor-decent-man/
These people who tout Mitt’s “business experience” need to show us just how that business experience helped the state of Massachusetts, who are favoring President Obama overwhelmingly over Mitt Romney – after having the benefit of experience his “business experience” first hand.
By the way – was Mitt the governor of MA during their 100 year “Big Dig” that had to be re-dug? Just curious…

Romney is going to use the Book of Mormon. Hagtag this, pass it along

Do you have evidence of this? He used the Bible when he was sworn in as Governor. We don’t need to be passing on lies. That is for the GOP.
Don’t know if true, found on the internet.
It does not matter. His Mormon Moment is coming to an end very soon and we will be done with that evil lying family.

Couldn’t care less what he gets sworn in on (since he’s an habitual liar). It’s what would come AFTER the swearing in that people should be afraid of. Regardless, he’ll never be sworn in as President.
A good sign of movement after the debate. And definite improvement from their weekend poll.

What I would like to see with these dumb polls are the details of their likely voter results. Are these vocal responses—–are Dem voters saying “maybe” they’ll vote?—–or press from 1 to 10 on the likelihood that they will vote, 1 being not likely, 10 being a certainty? Are that many Dems responding with a 3 or 4, expressing unenthusiastic responses? Who are they? Where are they? All the Dems I know and all the enthusiastic supporters I see on my teevee are determined Obama voters.
I was polled by some entity last night—-4 questions—-registered? will be voting? Voting for Romney, press 1 (which I thought was interesting—he’s the first name), Obama, press 2—-do you consider yourself a Republican, press 1 (again the first question), Dem press 2——and the poll abruptly ended after those last 2 responses.
Gallup over hyped the poll due to the high performance Romney is getting in the South.
I have had polls like that. As soon as you mention you are a Dem, they stop the poll. A reliable poll will ask far more questions, race, age, gender, etc.
As for Romney being first, a reliable poll will aletr the choice so that 50% of the time Romney would be firsdt and 50% of the time PBO would be first.

Woman cuffed in sign-removal case
By KEVIN CIRILLI | 10/18/12 1:06 PM
An 80-year-old woman is arrested after she tore down posters depicting Obama with a Hitler mustache. An 80-year-old woman was arrested in Hebron, Conn., after she tore down posters that depicted President Barack Obama with a Hitler mustache and called for Obama’s impeachment. Police charged Nancy Lack with sixth-degree larceny and breach of peace for removing the posters, and she could get three months in jail if convicted, NBC Connecticut reported.
Was the sign on someone’s private property? What was the charge against her? This seems like a severe consequence for the actions.
She’s 80 years old and they want to put her in jail for three months for tearing down a highly offensive poster? Outrageous. It’s disgusting that anyone thinks using a Hitler poster to make a political statement about the leader of their country makes any decent sense at all.

[Margaret & Helen]:
Also In Mitt World, children of illegal immigrants are simply soldiers for the wars he wants to start with Russia, Iran and now China. I mean honestly, Margaret, how much more proof do you need that this guy is a complete jackass? He plodded around that debate stage (a little like Herman Munster I might add) and then looked right into the camera and said those children are not welcome to stay here unless they are willing to take a bullet for him. After all, somebody has to protect the fortune he’s leaving to his sons – all of whom seem like they were quite capable of joining the Army if you ask me. In fact, if even one of his five sons actually had served, he might fool a few more people into thinking that he really is from Mexico. But according to Mitt, his sons are serving their country “by helping their Dad get elected.” Seems a bit self-serving, but what do I know? I’m just an old woman with a grandson and a nephew in Afghanistan.
But again, let’s not stop at the sound bite. Let’s really dig into that one. He also said that if you are smart enough to get a high-paying job you can get a green card and stay. So basically there is nothing honorable about serving in the military. It’s just a consolation prize for being poor… and stupid, I guess.
The Mitt who showed up to the debate this week is the same one who has been showing up in politics for years – the one who will say anything to get elected. Well. I’m done. I’ve seen and heard quite enough and I am voting for President Obama. Anyone in a swing state want to trade votes with me?
what people seem to forget that some of these polls are not polling brand new voters who will be voting for the first time. obama is winning that bunch by close to 30 points. how can you gage polls when you can’t poll youths who haven’t voted before? how many new voter are voting in this election and how many are voting for obama vs romney. If you go by the thousands of college students rallying at these obama rallys then it won’t be close.
I guess they’re saying these are not dependable voters, same with Latino voters, 2 of Obama’s constituencies. Srs. are the most dependable voters, and I can’t figure out why they would risk voucherizing Medicare, privatizing soc. sec., if not for themselves than consideration for those coming behind them. And how any woman in the country, other than ultra-conservative Catholics I guess, could vote for Romney is beyond me—–that’s a real head banger. Need more plain-spoken ads, better messaging?
Generally speaking, historically it is true that they have not been reliable voting groups. However, everything I have read indicates that enthusiasm within the Latino community is very high and that a much higher percentage than normal will vote. Students are more difficult to predict.
I feel your confusion, but you have to understand….if you are a Republican senior you don’t CARE about anyone but yourself so if your stuff isn’t threatened you just vote your racist side….same with women’s issues…if YOU don’t need birth control or an abortion, why should you care………when I went to vote there were 2 30something white women standing on the corner waving home made Romney signs….all I could think of was……you dumb racist witches(clearing my throat)….you don’t have a clue what is about to happen to you if you get your wish…
I like the question James Lipton, Inside the Actors Studio, presented on the Ed Schultz show, yes sometimes I watch bits and pieces of this show. Anyway Mr. Lipton said voters has two choices this election …….vote for a boss ( from the looks of the post debate picture of Ann looking at Mitt, she is the boss) or VOTING FOR A PRESIDENT. Mitt likes to boss and we know what lot of bosses are like……..

good morning dear friends. this is off post – in a way- but, this diary reflects, to me,
how the President feels about us. Trying to help us get to the top of the mountain.
I think you will injoy the diary, and yes, perhaps shed a tear:
Let’s call Romney’s one point plan what it is, TRICKLE DOWN ECONOMICS. The belief that if we just coddle the rich, they will, in their benevolence, share the wealth with the rest of us by supposedly creating jobs. Just ignore that new Jaguar they are driving, or the 4th home in the Hamptons or the Rolex watch that is weighing down their Bermuda tanned arms. It will trickle. Really!
The concept of supply-side economics has been thoroughly tested and thrown on the trash pile. We only have to look at Mitt Romney’s personal history to see a perfect example of how giving even more to those who don’t need it, won’t do a damn thing for the rest of us. Where is Mitt Romney’s money at? IN THE FUCKING CAYMAN ISLANDS, BERMUDA AND IN SWISS BANK ACCOUNTS. Do you think that money will ever trickle down to you?
Mitt Romney is a walking example of how greed and selfishness only creates more greed and selfishness.
Businesses don’t create jobs unless there is a demand for their products or services. It would be fucking stupid to do it otherwise. It’s why they do market analysis and studies to determine whether there is demand. When there is demand, businesses expand and create jobs. No demand, no reason to expand. Any business person who says they will create jobs if we just give them more disposable income is applying Romney’s “greed is good” principle and probably has an eye on a new car or vacation home.
