Mitt Romney made $15 million on the auto bailout from a company that blackmailed the US & fired 25,000 union workers. thenation.com/article/170644…— Keith Boykin (@keithboykin) October 18, 2012
Aint that bout a blip? After he told us to go Bankrupt, and go beg he private banks for cash, knowing full well they wouldn’t give us any, this jerk winds up with more cash in his coffers.
I’m so illiterate in finance that I didn’t understand much , only enough of the general idea for me to be so disgusted I don’t even have the words. Capitalism is out of control isn’t it ? Rattner is a pro and even he wasn’t able to prevent that; too much variables to control I guess.
I hate Willard Romney. He is the perfect representative of the sickness of GREED that is destroying so many lives, in America and around the world.
Hell no. I would rather watch Sean Hannity tonight than watch Romney try to tell jokes. I’ll wait for the black president guy who can actually tell a joke.
Hola everyone, I’ve been away with no internet for 7 days… FINALLY made it to Baltimore!!! woohoo & what a trip getting here.. I’ve missed you all so much. I heard our President was magnificent at the last debate too
oh no hell is just beginning… you should just see this house… it has beauty of the old style buried deep beneath the thousand pounds of filth left behind. So much to do… but I do like Baltimore
Sounds like a Romney crowd here tonight at the dinner.
What do you call #MittRomney, who said "Let Detroit Go Bankrupt" and then profited from #PBO's brave intervention to save it? #Delphi @UAW— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 19, 2012
Oh, the President got a little annoyed with one of the jokes, had to take a sip of coffee, but it’s okay, he can handle it (because the speaker mocked Paul Ryan, while he was at it, and is now mocking Mitthead).
I’m watching Willard, to see how he “reads” his speech. He probably practiced more for “humor” than for the debates. Ann’s face looks particularly pinched, tonight.
I was thinking earlier today what difference exists between Madoff and Romney? Other than only one is in jail? #GreedIsGood— ForUS50 (@FORUS50) October 19, 2012
Great – Romney (who’s got to be his usual “nervous as a cat”) gets to go first, making him even more nervous, with the President having the final say of the program.
I think part of that is because we love President Obama so much. The other part is that WILLARD IS NOT FUNNY AT ALL BECAUSE NOBODY COULD LOVE HIM. Notice how even the ol’ Catholics (of which I am one) aren’t laughing as much as they were at the beginning. Maybe because they all know any of them could become Mormons post-mortem (sorry – couldn’t resist).
President Obama really does not like Willard. He’s sipping coffee more than Ryan was sipping water. WILLARD IS THE MOST CRASS HUMAN ROBOT I’VE EVER SEEN.
Hi y’all! Thought I’d say Yo, and will be back in a while, after I eat supper AND VOTE! WooHoo! OUR BALLOTS ARE IN TODAY’S MAIL! Now, his shall I ever make up my mind, oh, I am SO DECIDED….. NOT! and I hope Myth gets his black&blue hyney whomped again at the dinner! Never mind how foine our PBO looks in that tux! MmmmMmmmMmmm…..Gotta Vote!
Good 99ts, cause reading over the comments, I am appalled at how many typos I made, guess I really ought to be wearing my glasses.. especially knowing how iPad thinks it’s smarter than me, and changes what I want to say to suit itself! HaHa on me! I’m am sure you all knew what I tried to say, right VC? Right, Chips?
Actually, Chips, I am MORE worried as just now when I came in to laugh at your brilliant championship spelling, my comment was still in the reply field as if I had never posted it! Ai yai yai! Now, that is very spooky, and weirder than MythillArd.
Romney’s jokes aren’t really jokes sometimes. They’re kind of snippy They’re making the crowd kind of uncomfortable and people on twitter are noticing that.
Romney's performance is starting to make me uncomfortable. #alsmith— Krystal Ball (@KrystalBall1) October 19, 2012
what a load of bs. Romney telling us what a great guy he is… no ill will on his part… and what a nifty family POTUS has. not buying his nonsense.. but the crowd is sucking it up.. he’s their guy.
Mitt is not that funny but he is getting Thunderous applause…..but these are wealthy folks like him….Damnnn,,,pandering asking the folks for his their votes…is that how it is suppose to happen
I think this whole thing is disgusting—it’s just gross—–the whole image of it. And they’re all pretending that Willard is a riot! What a fake farce this is! Now Willard is patting himself on the back—– and now the most insincere sounding gratuitous words I’ve ever heard. And the crowd is cheering Willard. Gross. Only Obama could keep me tuned into this thing.
So now Ryan’s fake charity photo op is costing the charity money. Rich backers are pulling out their support because Ryan was ‘embarrassed’. Well, if he’s embarrassed, he has only himself to blame.
'Everyone please take your seats or Clint Eastwood will yell at them" – Thank you President Obama for being truly funny!!!!— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 19, 2012
Archbishop Dolan was laughing at the President’s joke so much, he almost lost his little beanie cap. As a Catholic, I feel I can say I hope his cap doesn’t come completely off, because I hear they have “hat hair” under it.
Good quips from both guys. Mitt was visibly nervous, but that’s because I think that he doesn’t like people to be so physically close to him. PBO was on point as always. He started a little slow, but gained momentum. Now imo, this is a useless piece of waste of time, that the candidates are pressured to attend. It’s all a front and staged with little sincerity. Oh well, here’s to seeing PBO at next year’s event.
I think it’s been confirmed that Willard is definitely the weak link. Four years ago, John McCain was as funny as Barack Obama, and vice versa. Of course, that was back when McCain still had a partial soul, so never mind.
Yes, I remember being ever so pleasantly surprised back then. Tonight, even with the headliner – our guy – it all left one feeling a bit queasy. I do fully believe that President Obama couldn’t wait to get the heck out of there, far away from Willard. Mostly because our President is a normal person with a beating heart.
Yeah, McCain had those good ‘sailor jokes’ He had me laughing even though I didn’t plan to. This time I couldn’t even bring myself to hear Robme’s voice. It would’ve made me want to go down there and hit him
I actually like this event. It shows the greatness of our democracy where two people can disagree vehemently and just about punch each on the debate stage can in the next night joke around with each other. We cannot forget that in some places political enemies are killed. There is really no place like the United States.
I don’t think there is a place for our politicians to partake in religious events period. Of course we recognize our greatness and this dinner has nothing to do with that. Do you think we would see a televised charity event attended by our top politicians hosted by Muslims?
"The Unemployment Rate is the lowest it's been since I took office …" … "I don't have a joke here, just want to remind everyone" PBO!!!!— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 19, 2012
I liked that one too, I think my favourite was the one about he saying something about using the same tactics in the 3rd debate as he used in the 1st debate…long pause and then said just kidding, I’m trying to scare Axelrod.
Romney needs to learn from the master. Pres. Obama killed it!

People laugh at Miss Ann – she is a joke of epic proportions – should have stayed at home rather than prove yet again that her husband cannot face anyone on his own.
Truly, during Willard’s attempt at stand up comedy I heard a lot more grumbling/moaning during the audience reaction more so than applause. But PBO’s routine, sincere laughter. IMO.
tweety was cheering for the prez – funny – he still a little in love with the prez. pbo is just gorgeous – he knows how to pitch everything perfectly. the 2008 was 1000 times better – longer more jokes. you can feel the tension here – no warmth or respect at all. mccain and pbo had more respect for each other.
BO: "Sometimes the race seems long, but Paul Ryan has assured me that we've only been running for 2 hours & 50-something minutes." #AlSmith— (@utaustinliberal) October 19, 2012
Anyone who watched the whole thing is a hero. I just can’t stomach Willard and it’s hard enough having so see him during the debates. Would love to see the PBO portion excerpted. If anyone sees that portion on YouTube, can you let those of us with less fortitude know?
I cannot help but think that whenever our beloved President and Willard are in the same room-let alone same city oand or state-that President Obama blows him away or eats him for lunch. Ole stupid needs to recognize that it is over. Done.Finished. Go ahead Willard…have that nervous breakdown!
God bless the “Uns” . How can Paul Ryan be a good Catholic and not be willing to take care of the “Uns” ?
I thought when the Cardinal was listing them, how proud I am of President Obama and how he works everyday
to make their lives better.
My take too ObamaBoy. Mitt seems not comfortable in his own skin. Then again it could be the formal whitey tighties he had on. Like dress shoes and anything worn on special occasions, they must chafe a bit.
RT @BatshitGOP: Obama is hilarious but gentlemanly about it. His jokes never cut. Romney's jokes were savage and mean. #AlSmithDinner— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 19, 2012

lol. My mother actually put a bar of soap in my mouth once when she overheard me say f….. I was only about 12 and had NO idea what it meant. I did quite a bit of research on it after that.
In 1 line PBO summed up the racial intolerance still existg in United States of 2012 "I wish I could use my middle name" #AlSmithDinner#p2— Berny (@bernyp) October 19, 2012
I could just sob thinking how true that is. But, ya know, President Obama is the leader of the free world with that middle name and he hasn’t let it – and reaction to it and lies about it – stop him, so I’ll just stand up a little straighter with him and press on.
Tag Romney wants to take a swing at President for calling his dad a liar. I called him a liar too. Go ahead, Tag, take your best shot.— Lawrence O'Donnell (@Lawrence) October 19, 2012
That one tweet said about three things to me. First, Lawrence is self-absorbed and is trying to get attention on himself. Second, he’s a fighter. Third, he’s willing to stand up for President Obama (like the rest of us), which makes the first and second things not matter at all.
Know how we talk about FLOTUS’ Southside Chi-town background. The “fighter” in LOD comes from the Boston, Irish- Catholic background (he says that himself all the time). Kinda cliche’/stereotypical, but I see it in every dude I’ve met who was born & raised there.
I’m sure you are right! The first time I went to Boston and a group of us were trying to cross a street, in a designated crosswalk, I … er … happened to notice that a guy in a car coming down the street was actually aiming for us, because we were in his way (and I grew up in New Jersey, where nobody will let you get ahead of them, but that was even more scary!) It’s gotta be in the genes!
@Kwadal Gotta correct record here – actually Satan split himself into Grover Norquist & Ann Coulter. Romney is only a Minion (1 of 2)…— Dudette (@Dudette9t9) October 19, 2012
Looking at Chips’ tweets and pictures – those with Miss Ann show how she cannot stop with the facial expressions of disdain and hate – come November she can go back to riding the car elevator https://twitter.com/TheObamaDiary
I really got the feeling watching her interview today that she really hates this campaigning and can hardly wait for them to return to their rich priviledged lives. Campaigning is hard but you don’t hear from PBO and the first lady such negative thoughts about their job that they have to do for Americans. They really don’t deserve to be in that whitehouse.
'Latino Catholics overwhelmingly favor Obama – 73% say they will vote for President Obama, 19% for Romney' latimes.com/news/politics/…— The Obama Diary (@TheObamaDiary) October 19, 2012
You are so welcome – ty for all the wonderful things you do (especially keeping me sane the last couple of weeks) – I couldn’t stomach Willard the first time – let alone on replay
Just noticed (from a clip on LOD’s show) that when Queen Ann said “I’d just love it, if you’d get my husband on the couch, Joy” during this morning’s The View, she was subconsciously saying somebody should get some psychiatric help for her pathetic loser soulless awful ugly husband.
Yep. Pretty unreal, all around. I know how much you’ve tried to remind people on Twitter about those family remarks, and what they mean, and I thank you for that, Bob.
Also just noticed that Mitt was wearing his flag pin on his tux tonight. I checked and so was the President. Mitt’s was garish looking, like a boardwalk souvenir; PBO’s was in good taste. I’m not sure why either was wearing the flag pin, but I guarantee you Mitt sent his scout out to see if PBO were wearing one, and then had another flunky pin his on, just like I’m sure he’s now wearing the pink Breast Cancer Month bracelet the President had on, earlier today, and will probably wear it to bed tonight, in case PBO does, too.
Word has it that he got it from a cheap Chinese supplier. No proof but that was the word when he first started wearing it. Knowing how much he loves China goods, I’m not doubting
LOL… Mitt has it real bad – the obama derangement syndrome . He probably has posters around his rooms where his head is superimposed on PBOs body in front of those large rallies
Ann Romney's claim that Mormon missionary service is the same as defending our Nation is an egregious insult to those on active duty & Vets.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 19, 2012
.@annromney – my privileged 'babies' preaching mormonism = soldiers losing their lives and limbs at the war front.. Disgusting family..— (@amk4obama) October 19, 2012
@amk4obama .@annromney Romneys believe knocking on doors prosthelytizing religion is somehow equal to risking life & limb in combat zone.— meta (@metaquest) October 19, 2012
And they don’t even claim to be conscientious objectors. I think he got a deferment because of that missionary service, right? Their credo then was the same as now: It’s okay for all of “you people” to defend our country, but we’re not going under any circumstances.
BTW, Lawrence is bringing up their lack of military service on his show in a couple of minutes …
At some point, if anyone still cares, the truth about Mitt’s illegal escape to Paris and avoidance of military duty, as well as, refusal to take the legal steps to be a conscientious objector, will be documented. His escape to Paris was no less illegal than any US citizen, exiting the Country or hiding, to avoid the draft and service.
“The question at hand is the character of Mitt Romney. Military service isn’t the answer to all things. John McCain, for those familiar with his record as a POW and his presidential pardon, are more than aware. Those who aren’t are unlikely to, at this late date; bother to learn what they failed to when it mattered most.
Ann Romney, wife of Mitt, seems to understand the problem best when she expresses how the campaign has threatened Mitt Romney’s mental health. Mitt Romney is clearly talented but morally bereft of values, willing to say anything that he believes will help him get his way and, for those who watch carefully, slowly becoming mentally unhinged.”
Which highlights your concern in stressing Mitt’s mental health – very informative article
That also made of think of that old trick thingie kids would hold in their hand which gave a little buzz to the other kid when he shook hands. I could see President Obama bringing several tricks with him, just to scare Romney (the hand buzz thingie, brains, charm, you know the rest).
I wonder if Mitt is thinking, ‘please let this be over’,'I hope you crush me in the election’ because ‘my wife hates this gig’, ‘I’m only running
bcuz someone had to, they (GOP) picked my name from the hat ‘ .
Or maybe he is thinking, ‘wow, I got to shake PBO’s hand again’.LOL
Bob Herbert can sit there on Rachel’s show and talk about how the Dems should have pushed harder on the ground against voter suppression. They have been pushing hard. My question to him is what did he do besides appearing on Rachel’s show talking about it? He could have been right there with Rev. Al and others.
First, do a bot/virus check. Microsoft essentials (free if your OS is not a bootlegged version). Clean the residual crap with CCleaner. If still slow, uninstall the firefox and do a clean install by downloading the software (no update from the existing browser). Before uninstall of FF, back up your bookmarks.
If still slow after all these, then DON’T FRIGGIN’ OPEN GAZILLION TABS AT THE SAME TIME. IT”S JUST A BROWSER NOT YOUR PERSONAL MULE.
Oh one more thing. If you have got any of the paid/free anti-virus software like kaspersky, norton, avg etc., just junk them. They are all crap. I have been using only microsoft security essentials and CCleaner for over 3 years and zero virus problems and zero internet speed issues. Most of the speed issues were related to the crappy isp.
Exactly! Bob Herbert is definitely another arm chair revolutionary who wants others to fight for the revolution so that he may be able to enjoy the benefits.
A man carries a painting of Pres Obama, to be donated to him as a gesture of support, outside the Waldorf Astoria, NY http://t.co/BZoir6xZ— The Obama Diary (@TheObamaDiary) October 19, 2012
I was lucky enough to see President Obama speak today in Manchester! We had a 45-minute drive from the Boston suburbs, so my son (22 years old and a huge Obama supporter) and I set out dark and early, heading north. We joined the line around 8 AM. I couldn’t even see the beginning, but by an hour later, it stretched behind us for blocks. After going through airport-style security (we had to give up our water), we joined another line to get into the park. They handed us free water as we entered, which was welcome, as the early morning chill was turning into blazing warm sunshine. I couldn’t believe how close we were able to stand! Maybe thirteen rows of people back, right in front of the podium! The crowd was fairly quiet but happy as we stood waiting for the next two hours. Ben (a volunteer organizer), Senator Jeanne Shaheen, and Gov. Lynch all spoke. Oh yes, the national anthem was sung by Sen. Shaheen’s granddaughter! Then, around noon, the big moment arrived and the quiet, reserved crowd went bonkers! As the president came onstage smiling and waving, I heard myself screaming like a teenager at a rock concert—and I wasn’t the only one. The energy was amazing.
You’ve probably watched the speech posted here, so I won’t repeat it, but it was wonderful to hear it delivered live. The president mentioned how great the weather was, and then went into themes familiar to me from other stump speeches and the DNC speech. His energetic delivery had everyone there totally absorbed and hanging on his every word, clapping and cheering constantly. As has been said many times before, Barack Obama is a great speaker: so natural, warm, and engaging. Some highlights: he seems to get a kick out of the “Don’t boo—vote” call and response with the audience, and had big smiles when we started playing along. Some choice zingers referred to the recent debate, especially a mention of “binders.” As he spoke, lot of people called out “Yeah!” “Say it!” and whatnot, but one guy near me yelled “Thank you!” every time the president listed an accomplishment. It was sweet. People really appreciate all this president has done for them.
Then it was over, or was it? We couldn’t really see, but I thought the president was shaking hands down at the front of the crowd, so we moved in closer. Yep, he was methodically working his way from one side of the crowd to the other. I caught glimpses of his hands stretching out to include as many people as possible. Sometimes I saw the top of his head, and once got a good look of his smiling face. He seemed a little shiny after being out in the warm sun! There was no chance of getting close enough to shake hands, but I couldn’t drag myself away for some reason—and I wasn’t the only one doing this. Finally, he reached the side of the stage near where he came in and everyone waved and yelled “Bye!” as he left. My son and I slowly headed for the parking lot, feeling so uplifted. Yet, it wasn’t quite over. People were lined up on the road near the lot to see the motorcade pass on the way to the airport. It did a few minutes later, and I saw the president go right by! We stood waving, and kept waving as the various cars in the entourage continued past, even waving at the press van and ambulance. Just feeling so happy and almost giddy.
Sorry this is so long, but I also wanted to mention how diverse the crowd was. All races, all ages, men and women—it was fantastic. Many more old folks than I imagined; I guess it’s easy to buy into the older demographic = Romney voter cliché, but it didn’t seem true today. And there were lots of enthusiastic college-age kids. I just felt really good being part of this happy crowd.
Thank you for letting me share my experience with you! And thanks to Chips for this great site!
This is wonderful Beth. Congratulations to you and your son. I’m happy that you got to experience our President at a live rally, and thanks for sharing with us! #FIREDUP Obama/Biden 2012
What a wonderful story. You told it so well, that I could imagine myself standing next to you. I was going to post a good night comment, when I saw this beautiful recap of what had to be a glorious day for you and your son. Thanks for sharing.
I was scheming about how I could skip work to be there, but in the end duty won out! I’m so glad to be able to live it vicariously through you. Thanks for the spirited recap. Much appreciated
Thanks so much for sharing that, especially in so much detail. I am glad you and your son had such a wonderful time and it is lovely to see so much love for our President in New Hampshire!
Thank you! Thank you, Beth F. The length is perfect…and it would have been perfect had you gone on for two pages. To share in the happiness of such an occasion with you is just great! You did a great job making me feel like I was there with you and your son. I hope he had the same sense of togetherness you had with the people around you. Thanks again. VC
I love these recaps, Beth – so, thank you for taking the time to document your encounter with President Obama. Some of us may never get a chance to see him live, so this makes all the hours, donations, worry worthwhile. So glad you had a wonderfully full adventure.
I just read a first hand account on Old Orange of an NC voter who went to vote today, but didn’t get to vote because the LINE WAS TOO LONG!!! They stood for 90 minutes only to be told that the wait was going to be another 3 hrs!
I won’t link the diary here but for those of you who visit Old Orange the diary is entitled “Problems voting in NC:Good News and Bad News.” And FYI – the bad news is that the person didn’t get to vote today as planned because the line was much longer than they anticipated.
I live in a country where if you have to wait more than 30 minutes you call your representative – and the next election there are many more poll workers or an additional polling place is opened.
I am in awe of “you people” who go through so much to cast your vote – this is what stops those who would deny that right – to their own advantage.
99ts, This also what bothers me about this country. This is a country the claims to be the leader of the free world. It promotes democracy throughout the world. Yet laws and practices make it so difficult for American citizens to vote. There is absolutely no excuse for making people stand in line for hours in order to be able to exercise the right to vote.
.@springsteen the thanks all goes to The Boss! Amazing set, inspiring words, and fired up Iowans ready to vote early for @BarackObama!— Obama for America IA (@OFA_IA) October 19, 2012
When the Cardinal was speaking tonight of PBO and Romney preferring to be at home with wives and children – I wondered how many of these “children” live at home with Mitt and Ann??
I understand that mothers will always see their kids as children – but she really needs to stop with the “boys” and “children” nonsense. It’s offensive.

Thank you for sharing your story BethF. I wish he would come here to Michigan, but then again I want him to go where he’s needed. I have yet to see an Romney/Ryan bumpersticker,& the only ad I see from Mittens is from a superpac. I don’t see any ads from Obama either, but that’s probally because he’s got it in the bag in my market. Oh yeah, Go tigers!
Beth, thank you so much for sharing you and your son’s wonderful day. I know that you will never forget that experience. You made me feel as if I was there with you. I tried but I had to hit mute!
Hell no. I would rather watch Sean Hannity tonight than watch Romney try to tell jokes. I’ll wait for the black president guy who can actually tell a joke.
He’s black?
Oh, you should see the tense fake bullshyte smile on Mitt’s face right now, at the dinner, as the speaker is talking about him.

oh yes indeed – stories a plenty.. and I missed all of you Pamela so much.
Just look at that handsome smiling face. Wow and we get to gaze at this man for 4 more years! Yowza!
I think that’s a big part of why these dinners have become so popular since PBO’s been around

He looks so handsome
Look at Barack with his arm on the chair, chillin’
I wish the First Lady was there!

Did I miss something? Where’s FLOTUS?
Miss Ann is surely there to hold Robney’s hand.
Yes, because of his emotional instability, or whatever she hinted at, a while back.
I don’t think she was at the last dinner. She’s probably with her girls – especially after that school evacuation earlier today.
What!?! School evacuation at Sidwell.
Yeh. Suspicious package.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/49466078?ocid=ansmsnbc11
I don’t think it was anything major – supposedly a “suspicious” sounding phone call. Further details unknown.
Awww…she’s not there. My Prez needs some company in that room. Should have called me.
Ang, it probably comforts him just knowing you’d volunteer to step in.
Not to worry, I’m there. That’s me behind the podium. Why’d you think Mitt looked so pitched faced? You’ll also wonder why PBO is looking so relaxed.
Probably home with Malia and Sasha, as she says she is still Mom-in-chief.
The President doesn’t need FLOTUS to hold his hand every time you turn around.
C-SPAN has live stream of the dinner and Romney looks uncomfortable.
He probably ‘went’ on himself.
“We invited him here to convert”
This guy is GROSS. Newsflash: Romney doesn’t pay a lot of money to the federal government.
On balance, Smith IV (or whatever) was pretty good. Mocked ‘em all.
I agree. Not funny at all. I will mute my tv until PBO speaks.
wow this guys not funny at all.
Not the speaker – it’s the rich folks who seem to be applauding Romney – I hate him with a vengeance – and can’t listen to him
I’m with you on the hate part… cannot stomach him at all.
I can’t stomach him either…I can’t stand to look at him nor listen to him! We have to send him and his disrespectful clan packin’.
Oh, the President got a little annoyed with one of the jokes, had to take a sip of coffee, but it’s okay, he can handle it (because the speaker mocked Paul Ryan, while he was at it, and is now mocking Mitthead).
the crowd kept cheering Romney before the kicker against him was said
Yes, but the viewing public (you and I) heard it. Ha ha ha. Take that, Romney.
I think this is terrible—-I don’t know who that speaker was but —-ugh on the “jokes”. I can’t watch Willard, let me know when Obama is up.
I’m watching Willard, to see how he “reads” his speech. He probably practiced more for “humor” than for the debates. Ann’s face looks particularly pinched, tonight.
I couldn’t look at that face for the next four years.
Tell me about it.
Great – Romney (who’s got to be his usual “nervous as a cat”) gets to go first, making him even more nervous, with the President having the final say of the program.
this crowd really loves Willard. Asses.
Rich Dicks Lisa
It’s really gross.
This must be a room full of of goat republicans.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he probably brought his own cheering section – as someone said on Twitter.
Whomever this fool is, he is way unfunny …
Slamming Joe Biden.
Romney has a ghastly smile – creepy
I cannot even stand Romney when he tells jokes.
Willard’s been “joking” for a few minutes. That oughta do it for his year.
He’s not funny, just spiteful… yet the crowd is cheering like he’s giving away money. Not liking this at all.
Maybe because they all know any of them could become Mormons post-mortem (sorry – couldn’t resist).
ha! good one jacquiline
And it’s true.
ahhh……. I’m not laughing.
President Obama really does not like Willard. He’s sipping coffee more than Ryan was sipping water. WILLARD IS THE MOST CRASS HUMAN ROBOT I’VE EVER SEEN.
Where are you watching job? I can see PBO on the feeds.
I’m watching it live on C-Span One TV.
MmmmMmmmMmmm…..Gotta Vote!
cheered me up – ty Pamela
Good 99ts, cause reading over the comments, I am appalled at how many typos I made, guess I really ought to be wearing my glasses.. especially knowing how iPad thinks it’s smarter than me, and changes what I want to say to suit itself! HaHa on me!
I’m am sure you all knew what I tried to say, right VC? Right, Chips?
No wrroies Ampela.
Actually, Chips, I am MORE worried as just now when I came in to laugh at your brilliant championship spelling, my comment was still in the reply field as if I had never posted it! Ai yai yai! Now, that is very spooky, and weirder than MythillArd.
Any racist/birther jokes yet? I’m not listening
Mitt not very funny – the Prez is gonna kill him. Romney’s jokes are kinda mean and bitchy – just like him. He’s not gonna rattle PBO
Romney’s jokes aren’t really jokes sometimes. They’re kind of snippy They’re making the crowd kind of uncomfortable and people on twitter are noticing that.
going for being nice to PBO. He sounds insincere.
what a load of bs. Romney telling us what a great guy he is… no ill will on his part… and what a nifty family POTUS has. not buying his nonsense.. but the crowd is sucking it up.. he’s their guy.
romney’s campaigning for catholic votes – pathetic.
Here comes the Muslim Kenyan to make everybody smile.
So now Ryan’s fake charity photo op is costing the charity money. Rich backers are pulling out their support because Ryan was ‘embarrassed’. Well, if he’s embarrassed, he has only himself to blame.
http://www.addictinginfo.org/2012/10/18/soup-kitchen-loses-donors-because-of-paul-ryan-what-you-can-do-about-it/
First O’joke – perfect pitch. Second – same.
You got the picture.
Actually, “Mitt” is his middle name. I wish I could use my middle name. — President Barack Hussein Obama, Al Smith Dinner, Oct. 2012
LOLLOLOL!! This is why I love the President so hard. He’s the 5th Element – PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!
PERFECT IN EVERY WAY!
he’s so nice, he’s making fun of himself.. wow, he’s one of a kind our President. And cracking himself up.
Hemant Mehta @hemantmehta
“Everyone take your seats or else Clint Eastwood will yell at them.” – @BarackObama at #AlSmith Dinner
Miss Ann is not finding any of Obama’s comments amusing—–not smiling, looking away from him.
she is finding the campaign so hard
So there must be assigned seating. The guy in the last row is in the same seat as he was in ’08.
I remember him too.
Romney clearly paid some people to cheer his tasteless jokes.
I hadn’t thought of that – there had to be a reason
PBO is having a great time !!!!!!!!!
PBO is pure class – he’s joking with everyone, not attacking Romney
OOooo—he just got in a delicious zinger tho—–about Romney not having the prob of being so popular with our allies.
hahahaha I liked that severely
PBO wonderfully self-deprecating and warmly funny. Robme disgusting political attacks.
oh lord I love this man & I’ve really missed his goodness
Yes, it was almost worth listening to the loser first. Almost.
I’m glad POTUS went last.. because I won’t remember a single word of that other guy
I don’t even remember his name – something like Willard or another silly name usually reserved for rats.
yep williard… gave me the willies
I did the dishes with sound off during Robme’s skit. Missed the first couple minutes of PBO but enjoyed what I heard.
OH shit! ‘Spoiler alert’ !
“Spoiler Alert: We got Bin Laden”
Folks are laughing,,,,i thought that was funny about making Axelrod sweat…hehehe
are NOT#
GM folks. So the bot is telling jokes now ? Guess just stole them from stiff and then stiffed him too.
He is as good as professional comedians with his timing! LOL debate prep like the 1st one.
he’s so classy.
as well as sassy
and foine… very foine ~
I don’t often watch Presidents, but when I do, I prefer them classy and sassy!
You got both in this one!
Archbishop Dolan was laughing at the President’s joke so much, he almost lost his little beanie cap. As a Catholic, I feel I can say I hope his cap doesn’t come completely off, because I hear they have “hat hair” under it.
Now that was funnier than anything I heard tonight!
Ba da bing. Thank you. I’ll be in my limo.
As does every speech both of them make
Hollah!!!
I agree with you Ellen Brodsky.
okay I heard the only person I wanted to really hear.. done with that bunch.
Yes that one was funnier than all get out. I cracked up at McCain’s jokes and you could tell that each of them appreciated each other’s humor.
It would’ve made me want to go down there and hit him
I would have “held him” for ya!
We would’ve made a great team! Team O’Bama baaabbbbbyyyy
Do you think we would see a televised charity event attended by our top politicians hosted by Muslims?
hahahahah..Loveeeeeee that!
I was cracking up at that one!
I liked that one too, I think my favourite was the one about he saying something about using the same tactics in the 3rd debate as he used in the 1st debate…long pause and then said just kidding, I’m trying to scare Axelrod.
Missed PBO speaking. Drats. Some prada dood speaking. At least he is gracious about FLOTUS eat right program.
The lead-in was painful, but PBO was his usual charming self, funny and lovable.
Romney needs to learn from the master. Pres. Obama killed it!
Romney = all ass, President Obama = all class. I desperately need 4 more years. I love my President.
Perfect! Tweet it, so I can RT please!!
Done lil’ lady. I’m slightly twitter challenged so I don’t know how to post it here.
PERFECT!
Willard: ANNNNNNEEEEE he’s gonna touch me!!!!!!!! Quick, flip on my programmed laugh switch.
Obama: How you like me now frat boy?
Anne: Clutch my pearls and hide my purse, there’s an AA man near me.
Willard always looks like a sweaty doofus.
PBO always looks handsome and dashing.
End of story.
I like that story.
Miss Ann is an mean evil witch….I don’t usually call people names, but this woman rubs me in a way that mitt doesn’t.
lmao.
Thanks UTAL —- again!
Since when this dinner requires political analysis from these MSNBC pundiots?!?!? Rachel needs to STFU right now.
did you see, Tweety? Laughed his ass off at WIllard’s “jokes” that weren’t jokes but impolite political attacks.
C-Span One TV is showing Clinton and Springsteen next, and no pundits!
I’m sorry, but i didn’t laugh at WIllard’s jokes. I thought they weren’t funny. I’m mystified by the crowd’s reaction, though.
They are mainly rich republicans – to be expected
Don’t forget they’ve all been drinking half the night. They would have probably laughed even if old Queen Ann had taken the microphone.
People laugh at Miss Ann – she is a joke of epic proportions – should have stayed at home rather than prove yet again that her husband cannot face anyone on his own.
It’s a wonder he didn’t bring that little creep Tagg with him.
That crowd was probably drunk off their arses. PBO was funny and charming, as usual.
Truly, during Willard’s attempt at stand up comedy I heard a lot more grumbling/moaning during the audience reaction more so than applause. But PBO’s routine, sincere laughter. IMO.
tweety was cheering for the prez – funny – he still a little in love with the prez. pbo is just gorgeous – he knows how to pitch everything perfectly. the 2008 was 1000 times better – longer more jokes. you can feel the tension here – no warmth or respect at all. mccain and pbo had more respect for each other.
hahahaha perfect caption.
OMG! lmfao! Good one Chips.
Isn’t ol’ Cardinal red hat here one of them preach against Obama?
I did not listen to Mitt Romney. I did listen to President Obama. And I did not listen to Rachel Maddow. I need a break from those people.
I need a break from these cable know it all pundits. Some time you just get tired of them.
Anyone who watched the whole thing is a hero. I just can’t stomach Willard and it’s hard enough having so see him during the debates. Would love to see the PBO portion excerpted. If anyone sees that portion on YouTube, can you let those of us with less fortitude know?
i watched. it wasn’t funny on Willard’s part but Tweety and Katie Couric looked like they were dying of laughter.
+1. chips, chop, chop.
PBO’s joke about Tweety was so funny! I about died!!!
I pee’d a little.
TMI
LMAO
It was a nice break. Very SHORT BREAK.
I cannot help but think that whenever our beloved President and Willard are in the same room-let alone same city oand or state-that President Obama blows him away or eats him for lunch. Ole stupid needs to recognize that it is over. Done.Finished. Go ahead Willard…have that nervous breakdown!
LMAO at ‘Go ahead Willard…have that nervous breakdown!’
We have a reasonably probability of Mitt totally losing it Monday night … and I’m not joking.
#PRESSON
I’m so hoping. Ppl need to see exactly what he’s all about before they go into that voting booth.
I can’t remember hoping such ill will on people before. The GOPThugs HAVE gotten to me. We really need to kick them to the curb so the US can heal.
God bless the “Uns” . How can Paul Ryan be a good Catholic and not be willing to take care of the “Uns” ?
I thought when the Cardinal was listing them, how proud I am of President Obama and how he works everyday
to make their lives better.
TY Carol – a lovely comment – There are only one of those “Uns” that the GOP care about – the Cardinal’s list was long.
i thought Robot was funny, i laughed…..but i still hate him tho. *shrug*. He looked like wasn’t enjoying saying the jokes. ‘Ol awkward willard…
PBO is just a natural at stand-up comedy tho. He was great as usual.
My take too ObamaBoy. Mitt seems not comfortable in his own skin. Then again it could be the formal whitey tighties he had on. Like dress shoes and anything worn on special occasions, they must chafe a bit.
Hooray for LOD! He’s one of the straightest, most moral and intelligent commentators out.
good! That boy, his brothers and their shit of a father are a big bunch of COWARDS!!!!!!
pretty much.
ooooh DAMN Chipsticks. That is a zinger. . (Wouldn’t it be great to have a day of celebration every year for everyone who becomes an ex-catholic and quits that male dominated cultist “institution”? Instead of a Holy Day it will be an Oh Happy Day!)
Forus, I hope my Ma doesn’t read your comment, she’d give you a clip around the ear!
I’m sorry Mom Chipsticks! I promise I will not speak ill of the male dominated cultist “institution” again tonight.
That loud stampeding noise I hear is my mother heading in this direction
Stopping by the bathroom to get a bar of soap first.
She’ll probably shove it up your …. just be careful, she’s nearly here.
lol. My mother actually put a bar of soap in my mouth once when she overheard me say f….. I was only about 12 and had NO idea what it meant. I did quite a bit of research on it after that.
I could just sob thinking how true that is. But, ya know, President Obama is the leader of the free world with that middle name and he hasn’t let it – and reaction to it and lies about it – stop him, so I’ll just stand up a little straighter with him and press on.
beautifully stated Jacquiline.
Thanks.
That was beautiful, job. You make me proud.
Thank you so much.
YEAH,…I FELT HIM ON THIS
Lawrence is totally on it ….
That one tweet said about three things to me. First, Lawrence is self-absorbed and is trying to get attention on himself. Second, he’s a fighter. Third, he’s willing to stand up for President Obama (like the rest of us), which makes the first and second things not matter at all.
Go, Lawrence!
Mind over money. Smarts over smarmy.
sums it up
Bunch of sexy-ass mo’ fo’s!
In line with this tidbit Chip…
http://www.forbes.com/sites/tomiogeron/2012/10/12/paul-grahams-poll-silicon-valley-favors-obama-over-romney-2-to-1/
Looking at Chips’ tweets and pictures – those with Miss Ann show how she cannot stop with the facial expressions of disdain and hate – come November she can go back to riding the car elevator
https://twitter.com/TheObamaDiary
I really got the feeling watching her interview today that she really hates this campaigning and can hardly wait for them to return to their rich priviledged lives. Campaigning is hard but you don’t hear from PBO and the first lady such negative thoughts about their job that they have to do for Americans. They really don’t deserve to be in that whitehouse.
LOD is going full throttle tonight.
I take it that the coward isn’t on his show but he will be ripping him apart?
Here’s the video at C-Span, just skip Willard
http://www.c-span.org/Campaign2012/Events/67th-Annual-Alfred-E-Smith-Memorial-Foundation-Dinner/10737435020/
PBO starts at 17:40
Thanks 99ts!
You are so welcome – ty for all the wonderful things you do (especially keeping me sane the last couple of weeks) – I couldn’t stomach Willard the first time – let alone on replay
DITTO!!
Scandal is coming up NOW.
I know this is a dumb question but is everyone referring to when they say tweety?
Chris Matthews
Chris Matthews – political pundit/host on MSNBC.
Thank you both, I’ve seen tod’s use this phrase several times and was wondering who you all were referring too. lol
If you squint your eyes, you’ll see the resemblence to Tweety Bird. I think it’s the hair, but it could by the light bulb head.
hahahahaha! I was going to ask how his name came about, lol. And you know what I am going to be doing next time I look at him online….squinting
chris matthews
Just noticed (from a clip on LOD’s show) that when Queen Ann said “I’d just love it, if you’d get my husband on the couch, Joy” during this morning’s The View, she was subconsciously saying somebody should get some psychiatric help for her pathetic loser soulless awful ugly husband.
Both she and her kid Josh doubled down on her statements on ABC a few weeks ago in which she blatantly questioned #UnhingedMitt’s ‘mental well-being.’
Take me now, Lord.
Oh, my, you are probably right. Gross!
Well done!
Great tweet Bob!
Same goes for you amk, great tweet..It is disgusting!
You might want to read this ….
http://www.veteranstoday.com/2012/10/09/mitt-the-strange-case-of-the-secret-vietnam-years/
At some point, if anyone still cares, the truth about Mitt’s illegal escape to Paris and avoidance of military duty, as well as, refusal to take the legal steps to be a conscientious objector, will be documented. His escape to Paris was no less illegal than any US citizen, exiting the Country or hiding, to avoid the draft and service.
Bob – I appreciate the link. Gotta learn more about it, just to satisfy myself on what a (fill in the blank) he is.
Bob – the only people who don’t care are those who plotted to defeat President Obama from the day he was elected.
I hope Romney lost many votes from active military and vets just with this remark from Queen Ann. How out of touch can someone be ?? Jezzz…
That also made of think of that old trick thingie kids would hold in their hand which gave a little buzz to the other kid when he shook hands. I could see President Obama bringing several tricks with him, just to scare Romney (the hand buzz thingie, brains, charm, you know the rest).
*made me think*
He is a Cornel West clone.
yup.
Oi. Firefox is still rubbish. What’s your solution mister. And don’t give me any of that mule business.
IT”S JUST A BROWSER NOT YOUR PERSONAL MULE.
oops, forgot this one.
wimmin/smh.
And if all else fails get yourself a mac
Oh one more thing. If you have got any of the paid/free anti-virus software like kaspersky, norton, avg etc., just junk them. They are all crap. I have been using only microsoft security essentials and CCleaner for over 3 years and zero virus problems and zero internet speed issues. Most of the speed issues were related to the crappy isp.
Well said – me too – Norton ground my computer to a halt about 3 years ago – never been back there.
Exactly! Bob Herbert is definitely another arm chair revolutionary who wants others to fight for the revolution so that he may be able to enjoy the benefits.
Oh no. He works for a ‘think tank’.
Typical blame the victims left pundtwit.
He’s Eeyore with a writing/tv pundit gig!
Scandal is sooooooooooo good tonight.
Cyrus: “You’re happy. You’re ticking. That’s like seeing a Democrat with a bible.”
Cyrus: “You’re a bomb in a teddy bear waiting to explode. You’re ticking Mr. President. Tick. Tick. Tick. How do I defuse the bomb?”
Thanks for that wonderful field report Beth. I am very pleased the yung’uns are very engaged this election season. We need their votes positively.
Awesome report Beth, thanks for sharing your first hand account of seeing your President. I would have been extremely excited as well.
even waving at the press van and ambulance
I was scheming about how I could skip work to be there, but in the end duty won out! I’m so glad to be able to live it vicariously through you. Thanks for the spirited recap. Much appreciated
Way to go Beth and son! Thrilling report. #FIREDUP
What a great experience for you and your son to share together! LOVE these stories. Thanks for sharing it with us.
VC
Loved your sharing of your great day! Thanks for taking us along!
There is absolutely no excuse for making people stand in line for hours in order to be able to exercise the right to vote.
wow. great crowd.
Dennis Who?
Rev. Al sure exposed him using the homeless to wear his campaign gear. Republicans are lowdown. He fooled people with his pickup truck the last time, but I don’t think people are buying what he is selling this time.
Love this tweet from Jennifer Grey

Lawry going all Boston, basically said Taggrat should make his day and done on down and take a punch at Lawry. Lawry’s Boston accent was very present and he got outta his seat, walked around his desk and got in the camera’s face.
It is amazing what energy you feel when everyone is on one accord. I know you will sleep well tonight even if your body may be tired. Sweet Sleep.
