Aah! Trying to entice (Nudge, nudge. Wink, wink.) me into the technology age, eh? Nice try. You know better than most here how slow I am!
I’ll just enjoy the way you and other TOD media team members stepped up to bat, and the way the support voices chipped in. Reviewing the tweets and the cheer-leading in previous posts was very, very heartwarming! Way to go guys/gals!
Can’t we throw that bum out for incompetence? Malfeasance? Treason? I can’t remember if U.S. Representatives can be impeached, but can’t we at least do that? He is SCUM PERSONIFIED.
Darrell Issa has a past criminal record. The fact that he heads a major committee of Congress is despicable. Unfortunately a congressman can’t be impeached. He can only be thrown out by the majority in his chamber, i.e. Senate or House of Rep., or the majority of his constituents. There is no chance for either of those happening.
JO, his Congressional district, though in CA, is dominated by right wing tea baggers. It’s going to take major planning to get rid of his ass. But, he can be silenced if the Democrats regain their majority in the House of Rep. and he is no longer the Chairman.
I try not to follow him, so thanks for the info. Yes, as soon as I had typed my comment and posted it, I thought of the wonderful Nancy Smash and pictured her having the gavel in HER hand once again, come 2013! Yeehaw!
Due to redistricting, this asshat is now my best friend’s rep. The guy before him was awful, but Issa is REALLY a d-bag! I remember hearing on one of “the shows” that he’s the richest member of the House. Friggin’ thief! He is obviously beyond power hungry and pretends he really gives a shit about his “investigations.” Didn’t Bill M ask him why he didn’t investigate anything during Shrub’s time in office? Of course, the answer was “crickets.” Asshole!
Not sure I’m talking to you, yet. Have to think about it and the brain isn’t functioning on all cylinders right now. Feeling a bit lost. Banking on brain functions returning in the morning.
Whenever the chips are down, Romney leans on dog-whistles.
During Tuesday night’s debate, Romney used the deliberately truncated “Democrat Party” monicker — specifically, “Democrat Senate” and “Democrat House.” The party is called the “Democratic Party,” and the shortened “Democrat” title is only used to describe one or multiple members of the party. When discussing the House and Senate between 2009 and 2011, the proper term is “Democratic House,” and so forth.
The reason Romney used this phrase was to appeal to the extremist far-right of the party who use the epithetic and incorrect party title as a means of stripping the party of any association with democracy or democratic values, and also to childishly emphasize the “rat” syllable at the end. So yes, this allegedly good and decent man used a grade-school-recess name-calling trick that’s better reserved for Freeper comment threads than a presidential debate stage with an audience of 60 million people. Let’s put this another way, can anyone imagine a self-respecting Democratic leader like, say, President Obama using the monicker “Rethuglican Party?” I should hope not.
Woah……The Richard Dreyfuss is voting for Pres. Obama in the election.
I'm not a Democrat. I'm, like Norman Lear, a compassionate conservative. And the only compassionate conservative running is Obama— Richard Dreyfuss (@RichardDreyfuss) October 20, 2012
That’s Darrin Criss. My daughter is his PA and had known him for YEARS. He’s a very talented kid and sweet. His brother has a band called FREELANCE WHALES. I’m happy to know their young crowd is in the game politically.
Ah, true Lisa, but much as I loathed what he was involved in in the GWB administration, I thought this endorsement was stunning, one of my favorite moments from the last campaign.
I’m not sure his voice carries the same weight now as it did four years ago, so I wouldn’t be too worried about him. If he endorses PBO good, if not: no worries.
Honestly who want Colin Powell endorsement? He knows Mitt Romney is a bold face liar, but he is thinking about supporting him. What does that say about Powell.
Since the WMD speech at the UN, Powell has been dead to me. Either he was lying or was lied to and still stayed on with the liars. I used to think he was an honorable man. No more.
One of the things he said that I like very much is that PBO had the possibility and the opportunity to truly be a transformational president. And PBO has been all that and then some.
He will probably endorse after the foreign policy debate. For the endorsement to have real weight and impact, he must at least to appear to hear Mitt out. He has always been fairly supportive of PBO in interviews I have seen.
People need to stop saying that PBO did not get a bump from the second debate. PPP tweeted that PBO did not get a bump in the Iowa and New Hamsphire. But how can PPP said that when the poll was done between Oct 16-18. The only post-date poll was the 18. Maybe PPP should do a post debate poll.
They have a narrative or meme to push. PPP advised us to wait a week to see if Mitt had a bounce, but can declare no bounce for PBO immediately. It makes no sense. In addition, this likely voter and enthusiasm gap stuff is pure bullshit. They ignore the early voting numbers because it does not fit into their preset narrative. If Mitt were winning the early voting, appearing to packed audiences and winning big among registered voters in all polling, the way the media is presenting the state of the race would make some sense. The fact that the guy they portray as losing, is winning big in all these categories tells me the MSM is trying to con the American people.
MADISON, Wis. – Former President Bill Clinton and first lady Michelle Obama traveled across Wisconsin on Friday, as both Democrats and Republicans made a push to get supporters to the polls with the start of early in-person voting next week.
Republicans including Sen. Ron Johnson, former U.S. Rep. Mark Green and national committee chairman Reince Priebus were on a bus tour through the state Friday and Saturday with the same purpose.
From Green Bay to Milwaukee, Madison to La Crosse, Racine to Rhinelander and all places in between, Republicans and Democrats are hoping to get their supporters to the polls during the early voting period, which starts Monday and runs through Nov. 2, the Friday before Election Day.
Michelle Obama, speaking to an overflow crowd of 2,500 in Racine, extolled people to vote early because the election will be tighter than in 2008. She also directed people to a website where they can get information about registering to vote and where to cast ballots early.
The one I ordered 4 weeks! ago arrived today. It was a limited edition and signed by the artist. Definitely not something you just pin on the wall. Must frame. Wanted to see if there were any other on the site but nope! gone. all gone. My next purchase will be the pack of buttons.
I am a little worried about my poster, gb. I am sure I ordered that signed limited edition one, feel like I have waited ages! Lots of goodies arriving almost daily. The 44 button pack is Awesome, it also allowed me to give away tons more of the 30 button set I got back in the spring! Obamavolunteers.com is offering some smashing prices on their final inventory, some very good investments to be made there for our grandchildren!
Hello everyone at TOD, I hope that you all have had a terrific week. It’s my birthday today. What did I do, you might ask? (or not…) I spent most of my day at Obama HQ in Chicago doing busy work in support of a couple of friends who work on the campaign. I couldn’t think of anything more purposeful to do on my birthday then that. I feel very strongly that my friends, family, and the entire country would be better off with Pres. Obama than with anyone else at this time in history. I know that all of you here agree with this assessment. I wanted to share that folks are extremely busy at HQ and that everyone is in good spirits. The people I spoke with are so grateful and appreciative of the grassroots support that this campaign has been getting and continues to get. Everyone knows that all that’s left at this point is to insure that everyone who supports the President and his agenda get out to vote. I know that everyone here is doing a ton to help with that effort. Thank you so much for everything that you are doing to GOTV.
Finally in looking at the last thread, I noticed some comments about media personalities commenting on the state of this race. I ask everyone (humbly) to focus instead on what you can do to support this re-election effort. I would also ask you to consider the President’s demeanor throughout this process. Does he appear rattled or confident? Is he on the campaign trail this weekend or is he spending valuable time prepping for the final debate? I ask (respectfully) that you take your cues from the key players in this campaign instead of media pundits who haven’t spoken to any actual voters in perhaps years. Once again, thank you all for what you do every day to make this country a better place. Thanks Chips for creating this wonderful place for sharing and commiserating. Peace to all…
A very Happy Birthday to you, MK:) Thank you for all you do, as well….and for your words of wisdom. I can’t think of a better way to spend your birthday, in fact…I may do the same next Friday on MY birthday:)
What a great way to spend your special day, MK! I bet you were on a ‘high’ all day because of all the action and interaction you would have had around you. A very HAPPY BIRTH-NIGHT to you!!!
Thanks for all of the birthday wishes. It’s been a great day. Eveningeorgia, please do feel free to spread the message that all is well and that the Obama campaign is ON IT with GOTV… Feel free to share anything you’d like, really
I’ve read some of the comments here. I get it. I drank the Kool-Aid so why listen to me? I am just a dumb liberal who doesn’t watch Fox News and therefore hasn’t a clue. You shouldn’t listen to me.
Instead you should listen to someone who really does know what is in Mitt’s heart. Let me introduce you to the woman who has been washing his underwear for 43 years. Well I am assuming that of course. She could have outsourced the laundry duties. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Ann Davies Romney:
“Mitt has always been a pro-life person, he governed, when he ran, uhmm, as pro-choice…”
That would be an exact quote. It gets a little complicated after that because Ann finds it hard to make that shit sound truthful, but basically she said that he was pro-life while he campaigned as pro-choice . Then he got elected. Once elected, Mitt realized that he couldn’t actually govern as a pro-choice because, in fact, he was pro-life. So then, and only then, he let everyone know via an editorial in the newspaper that, in fact, he was exactly the opposite of what he campaigned. He was Pro-No Choice. Of course, now he is back to needing women to vote for him so he is willing to be pro-choice-ish again. It’s confuing, I know. Ann has always had a problem separating her whites from her colors.
The paid trolls must be out in force if M&H got some negative comments – to know them is to love them – and Margaret’s response to Helen was a joy
“And don’t worry about that Tag, dear. I hear the Romney boys just play war. In the real world they stand on the sidelines and send the 47% to do the heavy lifting.”
Saw the “audio mailer” sent to people in Missouri by Dem-leaning SuperPAC against Todd Akin on Rachel Maddow’s show. It’s a card and when you open it features a snippet of Akin’s “legitimate rape” remarks. For once I’m with Maddow, that is kinda ingenious. I don’t usually get much political mailers other than from OfA, but when I do, I tend to trash it. I suspect even I would open this mailer and still trash it in disgust, but I would def be reminded of Akin’s bullshit.
Hey #TeaParty#tcot, go ask #ROMNESIA Mitt to fund your cool business plan & tell him you'll give him the budget, after he writes the check.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 20, 2012
Well, that was interesting. For maybe the 7th time this election season, I have been polled. I don’t remember ever being polled in my 65 years before. And what is interesting is that I am in Illinois. It is all due to the Duckworth-Walsh race, except for one poll related to the Illinois House race. I have been polled twice by the Duckworth camp, once by the DCCC, one by the Walsh camp, one I am not sure of and just now by the Chicago Tribune. What is interesting is that in this one they asked for my first name and if I would be willing to speak to a reporter if they chose to follow up. I really wish they would call me. They woudl get a more honest view of what is happening than they do from any of the political pundits.
On my facebook page I get the Daily Kos and they have a story that the biggest newspaper in Utah has gone with the President. They are giving their endorsement for President Obama to win. I am so happy.
Rachel Maddows segment on Mitt Romney and his desperate attempts to mislead women about his true feelings about abortion and contraception is required viewing for everyone. Mitt Romney endorsed the BLUNT AMENDMENT which puts the decision about whether you can get contraceptives through you insurance in the hands of your employer (religious or otherwise). Rachel showed an interview where Mrs. Greenspan was questioning Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (acting as a surrogate for Romney) and she lied about the real parameters of the bill. She implied it only addressed religious institutions and that is not correct.
Birth control exemption bill, the ‘Blunt amendment,’ killed in Senate
——————————————-
The Senate Thursday rejected an effort to vastly expand conscience exemptions to the Obama administration’s new birth control coverage rule, even as Republican presidential contenders continued to tussle over the issue.
The measure, an amendment proposed by Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) to a highway funding bill, would have allowed not only religious groups but any employer with moral objections to opt out of the coverage requirement. And it would have allowed such employers to do so in the case of not only contraception but any health service required by the 2010 health-care law.
.
.
Romney’s campaign quickly said he had been confused and thought he was being asked to respond to a local proposal in Ohio. “I didn’t understand his question,” Romney said on a Boston radio show later Wednesday. “Of course, I support the Blunt amendment.” And in a statement Thursday, Romney praised senators who backed the measure.
There is overwhelming evidence that Mitt Romney is a LIAR and he will be led with a ring in his nose by his million $$$$ campaign donors if he ever became President. His policies would be damning to 95% of the US population and 99% of the world population. The sad part is that 45% of the US population, knowing this, still vote for him.
Very few say it, but millions think it – If PBO could use his middle name – he would be re-elected in a landslide.
1. The Tampa Bay Times for Obama – “We wish the economic recovery was more vigorous, and we would like the president to present a sharper vision for a second term. But Obama has capably steered the nation through an incredibly difficult period at home and abroad, often with little help from Congress.”
2. The Denver Post for Obama – “Four years later, the Iraq war is over, the war in Afghanistan has a conclusion in sight, and the economy has made demonstrable — though hardly remarkable — progress.”
3. The Salt Lake Tribune for Obama – “Where, we ask, is the pragmatic, inclusive Romney, the Massachusetts governor who left the state with a model health care plan in place, the Romney who led Utah to Olympic glory? That Romney skedaddled and is nowhere to be found.”
4. The Philadelphia Inquirer for Obama – “America doesn’t need an Etch A Sketch president whose positions change with the type of audience he’s speaking to.
Sorry Utah, that Romney never existed. Romney’s only goal is to amass all the power and wealth he can. Period. He’ll do and say whatever it takes to get there.
I find it funny that so many are crying for more details about the agenda in a second term, but if you were to ask them what has been accomplished in the first term, I doubt many of them could name any of the accomplishments. The President got plenty of stuff done in his first term, and he also had to deal with ending the global financial crisis, rescuing the auto industry, dealing with shutting down two wars he didn’t start, and navigating right wing obstruction. He’s still got some stuff from his first campaign that he wants to accomplish, and since he set big goals, they’re doozies. Climate Change. Education Reform. Immigration Reform. Ending the war in Afghanistan. Completing the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in 2014. Getting investments (public or private) in infrastructure and new technologies. Signing more trade agreements. Lowering the deficit.
Managing the Executive Branch is huge – he could keep himself busy just doing that, and the country would be better off. Congress is just a headache.
I agree with you. Hate it when they say the president has no clear vision for the future. What the #$%$ do they want. Where they bin the last 4 years. He has clearly said it is a continuation. Finish what we started. He says it all the time. Arrrrrghhh!
I know what you mean about clear agenda for the future since PBO gave his answer to that in his first question at the 2nd debate. He numbered his answer 1 thru 5 and I wondered why both Mitt and he had 5 points at the time. He was concise. Matthews always says things like that making me think Chris Matthews is all about talking and NOT about listening.
I am not sure I agree with Rachel about PBO not being asked any questions about his foreign policy stance on certain issues. He has given foreign policy speeches. She is chomping at the bit for the debate. Her birth control segment was great.
The current GOP (and sometimes dem) carryon about foreign affairs – with the potato farmer from Idaho supposedly concerned about Benghazi, Libya – will no doubt backfire at the next debate. Romney will have talking points from Fox News – PBO will have facts.
Chuck would be singing “We Take Care Of Our Own.” With gusto, off key, hitting the high notes at the end, no further comment required.
And Mark, who’s obsessed with PBO? “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair.” Just give the damn competition to Chuck, because the only votes Mark could win would be in some State Fair Hog Calling Competition. And he’d be playing the hog.
You know #ROMNESIA is preventable as evidenced by the fact that Salt Lake Tribune endorsed President Obama today. That's MONUMENTAL folks.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 20, 2012
G Washington. Thomas Jefferson. Andrew Jackson. Bill Clinton. Barack Obama. Raised largely by single moms. They turned out OK, Gov Romnesia— ashley judd (@AshleyJudd) October 19, 2012
Ari, has a point! Romnesia is definitely spread by Fox. The entire GOP is also implicated, just as are so many in the so called mainstream media, in spreading Romnesia.
So I was thinking about the election being 18 days out, and Not for nothing, but in 17 days, I’ll be 1 year older and 4 years closer to 40!!! Age ain’t nothing but a number to me, but I swear I feel like I’m still in my 20s. I’m realizing now, that my brain arrested at like 28 years old…that’s 7 years ago. 7 years ago…Katrina happened. I think I just had my own “light bulb” epiphany moment…lol.
“Romnesia” must be getting to the Robney campaign, because they are doing their usual complaining, “it is not presidential”. I could write a book on the non-presidential things he has done. My hat goes off to the person who thought of this word.
Dear President Obama please deal swiftly and severely with Mr Issa for his egregious, self-serving harm to our National Security @whitehouse— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 20, 2012
The number of laws infringed, and the endangerment of US personnel and Libyans that Issa is now, beyond any reasonable doubt, implicated, will enable the President, especially after 6 Nov., to prosecute the dude.
Seems like Issa is trying to instigate some international unrest, so they can have more ammunition. Why can’t Americans see that the GOP are willing to endanger national security for power play? They are just vile.
When you get Republicans in charge of the House you get the likes of Michelle Bachman on the Intelligence Committee and Daryl Issa in charge of our Countries security heading up bogus investigations. That alone should give a picture of the differences between the two parties. It is scary having the GOP in charge of things.
So right – the irresponsibility of allowing people like those two to be on such critical committees, and the crazy ones who are on the science and technology-related committees is frightening. If they put such unqualified people like Michelle Bachman on the intelligence committee – then what does that say about the fact that Paul Ryan was on the Budget committee?
As I recall, Al-qaeda usually own up to their terror, they take responsibility, we did not hear from them on this attack in Libya. So who really is resposible for this attack? Hmmm.
Evening all. Absolutely loving all the great news coming at an accelerated pace as we get closer to the big day.
Watching that clip of Sister Simone makes me want to watch the convention over again. I think I’ll spread it out over the weekend.
Anyone notice the end of the ‘Made in Ohio – Obama for American Ad’ where the text says “Romney, he’s not one of us” LOL Romney is slowly but surely becoming ‘the other’ they’ve been trying to paint PBO to be all this time. There’s one meme I would really like to see take hold.
As for Romnesia! That is pure gold. I will be using that every chance I get in everyday conversation. I’m sure it will show up in the urban dictionary fairly soon.
Romnesia. Love how the whole world had a collective eureka moment, all at once in reacting to that. Trending worldwide! Says to me, it won’t go away soon. I heard about the speech at work and had a few minutes so I checked it out and burst out laughing so loud, others came to see. When I replayed it everyone was cracking up.
Happy B-day MK – Congrats Donna on getting up close and personal with our illustrious leader! You lucky stiff!
These are certainly interesting times! Have a great night all!
I saw that, and it struck a nerve. He really is not “one of us”. He keeps his money in foreign accounts. Refuses to invest in America. Doesn’t bother to defend his country, or ask his sons to serve – but is willing to put lowly Americans in harm’s way to further his agenda. Sends American jobs overseas. Was willing to let manufacturing/auto industry die in America. Prioritizes Israel and Israel’s agenda over his own country. Politicizes the deaths of his fellow Americans, even after the parents of the fallen beg him not to do so. Was willing to leave American troops in Iraq and lamented the troop withdrawal, stating that it was “tragic”. Fosters racism and division. Cowardly says behind closed doors that half the country is lazy, irresponsible and mooching off Paul Ryan’s “makers”, and also declares proudly that he wouldn’t hesitate to use a national security disaster for his own political gain. Is willing to put the country’s most vulnerable in harm’s way so that he can give tax cuts to the most privileged in the country. Is willing to jeopardize the integrity of the democratic process in order to win an election.
Let’s not underestimate what Mittens may do in the FP debate on Monday. He needs to redeem himself after PBO mopped the floor with him on Libya last week, and there is no doubt that Issa released the docs in order to provide them to the Romney campaign to prepare for the debate. Unfortunately, they are not classified so legally he can release them without repercussions althought it certainly demonstrates poor judgment but then what else would we expect from Issa. But I think it is going to hurt Romney with the undecideds and independents if he keeps pushing this. And PBO is somewhat boxed in as to how he defends this because again thanks to Issa it is now clear that a big part of the “security” there was CIA which he cannot talk about. I’m sure his team will figure out a way to address this but I am keeping my fingers crossed that Romney knows so little about foreign policy he’ll stick with the superficial stuff.
I heard somebody on the telly this morning say, that he just stand there and try to look presidential. Personally I hope he goes out on a limb and brings up Libya, but something tells me he won’t have to that, because Bob S. is going to bring up all the RW talking points.
This is gonna be a great Halloween. Have my 21-m/o great grandson nearby – first time I’ll see him in costume. Tonight, four generations of us each painted a mini pumpkin, including our toddler. I decided to make my pumpkin face in the letters spelling “Obama” (O-B eyes, A nose, MA mouth), adding a little color. Then I had the dear boy say his new word for me, in his sweet voice: Obama. We’re all one big happy family, which includes the Obamas in the White House. Good times.
Ya know, mocking abolutely is the most brutal form of aggression and PBO did this whole thing so brilliantly and with a smile on his face. But I’d bet $10 (not $10,000) that the Mittens is SEETHING:-)
Hopefully he is. We’ve seen how he cannot stand and is probably not used to anyone coming at him. Just look at all the material the #mediafail has and that they have stayed far away from as if in fear of offending him.
Let’s hope it throws him off his feet enough for him to come off like a total mad man. Too bad PBO has the weekend off. A few more days like this would guarantee a complete meltdown of #UnfitMitt in front of millions.
Lunar, the president is forced to prepare for the final debate. He’s hard at work and is not “off.” However, there are a whole boatload of surrogates out there from Biden to Clinton who can run with this while he’s doing prep work.
Bipartisan Mitt Myth Busted: As Gov, Romney Didn’t Even Know Legislators’ Names
By: Sarah Jones
—————————————–
During a press conference call Friday afternoon, Democratic Massachusetts state Senator Karen Spilka debunked Mitt Romney’s claims of bipartisanship. She said many legislators– including Republicans — would say that Mitt Romney not only wasn’t bipartisan, but he didn’t even know where that aisle was.
Sen. Spilka recounted that at one point, after she had been working with Romney for weeks, he still didn’t know who she was. Romney then came to her district and still didn’t know who she was. In retelling this to a Republican colleague, the colleague told her not to feel bad because Romney didn’t know who the Republican legislators were either. He said, “Karen, don’t feel so badly. He doesn’t know who we are either.”
The picture painted by Senator Spilka is not one of a hard working Governor, much less a bipartisan one. Spilka said contrary to the fairy tale Romney is selling the public about how he convinced the lions to lay down with the lambs and used his business experience to bring everyone together, the Mitt Romney they know from Massachusetts belongs in a “Grimm Fairy Tale”. She said it was clear by the end of year two that Mitt Romney was more interested in running for president than anything to do with Massachusetts. He was gone 417 days from Massachusetts, prompting the New York Times to dub him the “absentee” governor.
For all those on twitter, please tweet to all OFA folks such as Liz Smith, Axe,Stefan Cutter etc to say that Ambassador Rice and all the Obama team relied on the General Patreaus led CIA reports. Are the GOP doubting the leadership of General Patreaus?
Is Issa questioning the Patreaus led CIA?
The GOP revere Patreaus and linking this to him will put them in difficult position.
Anyone here know if there are any possible official actions that can be taken against Darrell Issa, either by POTUS or Congress? He should face consequences for this outrageous behavior.
Still, if we had a congress made up of honest patriots (which we don’t), Darrell Issa would have been, at the minimum, censured for his “reprehensible and unethical” actions. To make matters worse, he is practically running unopposed for re-election. No chance of getting rid of him by voting against him.
Yes – Issa and Boehner are apparently running unopposed. I find that hard to believe. Especially with so many armchair quarterbacks who are always so quick to provide their expert opinion on what should be done, but seem reluctant to throw their own hats into the ring.
Issa is being opposed and we must do all we can to support his opponent ….
Given Issa's deceitful harm to our National Security, we must ALL support @JerryTetalman for Congress. Issa must be defeated. @NancyPelosi— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 20, 2012
Given that it’s Andrea Greenspan Mitchell, this will definitely not help Issa ….
Did Issa expose Libyans helping the US? @joshrogin reports Libyans now endagered by doc dump. Sr official confirms to nbc— Andrea Mitchell (@mitchellreports) October 20, 2012
Issa’s Benghazi document dump exposes several Libyans working with the U.S.
Posted By Josh Rogin
“House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) compromised the identities of several Libyans working with the U.S. government and placed their lives in danger when he released reams of State Department communications Friday, according to Obama administration officials.”
Hold him accountable.
Dear @NancyPelosi The vile Issa has moved from his treacherous 'fast & furious' witch hunt to endangering Libyan lives. He MUST BE CENSURED.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 20, 2012
I agree with you Bob. I think Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats should go on record calling for the CENSURE of Darrell Issa. Obviously, with a Republican dominated House of Rep., now on vacation, the motion to censure Issa will probably go no where. But it’s important to go on record challenging his treachery and his endangering of Libyans working with the United States as well as the CIA.
This is proof again that these sick ass Republicans don’t need to be in charge of anything, they will put trying to bring down this President, ahead of the welfare of this country. And Democrats and Republicans of pass years did not do things like that. It’s clear he was just trying to help Romney in the next debate. I hope Americans see this also, there ought to be no politics play with the safety of our country. And where are the sensible Republicans to push that point across? Sad to say there is none.
Bob, I appreciate your tweet. It’s true that Issa has token opposition. What I meant by saying that he is “practically running unopposed” is to show that the Democratic party, and the so called holier than thou progressives, like MoveOn, have not invested any meaningful resources to challenge this criminal. Sadly, at this late hour, I doubt that Jerry Tetalman has the resources to defeat Issa. May be we can target him for 2014. Right now, the best way to silence Issa to focus on Congressional districts that appear winnable. If Democrats are able to regain their majority in the House of Representative, Issa will be marginalized as he will no longer use his position as Chair of the Government Affairs committee to demonize the President and his administration.
Until today, I did not anticipate any meaningful effort to go straight at Issa. That has now changed. Will push Speaker Pelosi and others to go after him in a big way. What he did is beyond treasonous. In any event, regaining control of the House, as you note, will at least corner him and Speaker Pelosi has more than adequate cause to Censure him if he’s re-elected.

Dear @JoeBiden The vile Issa has moved from his treacherous 'fast & furious' witch hunt to endangering Libyan lives. He MUST BE DEFEATED.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 20, 2012
By the way Bob, may be we can also fight back against Issa through massive e-mails, faxes, phone calls to his office and on-line petitions, voicing our outrage at his actions. I am going to look up his capital Hill phone # and e mail address to voice my disgust at what this traitor did to endanger the lives of Americans and their Libyan contacts. Issa is an unreformed criminal. He needed to do time to realize that crime doesn’t pay.
Theo, If you are referring to the emoprog “armchair quarterbacks” I find them to be politically useless. Instead of investing time, energy and money to build grass-roots organizations to challenge people like Darrell Issa and John Boehner, they prefer to expend all their time and energies trashing and demonizing President Obama, Senator Reid, and other Democrats.
Jeff you can call and make sure your absentee ballot was received. The lady at the elections board told me that I could do that for my Mom ballot and I will do so too.
For the record … as despicable as it is and disgraceful to our America ….
You've got #ROMNESIA if you forget that ALL DEMOCRATS stood shoulder to shoulder with GWBush after 9/11. #GOP ATTACKED #PBO after #BENGHAZI.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) October 20, 2012
Great Tweet, Bob! Besides Romney and the GOP, the people suffering acute Romnesia are in the so called mainstream media. To be honest, this what I some times get angry about when it comes to Democrats. Why are there no prominent Democrats pointing out exactly what you just tweeted?
It’s late. What I meant to say in that gabbled comment was that I get angry when Democrats fail to point out that during the tragedy of 9/11 all Democrats in Congress stood behind President Bush. No one tried to take advantage of that tragedy to blame George W. Bush. Even in 2004, John Kerry never politicized the tragedy of 9/11/01. As a matter of fact, it was the Dick Cheney who politicized 9/11 by constantly claiming that if Kerry was elected America would be subjected to more terrorist attacks. By the way, Bob, Democrats did the same when over 200 marines were slaughtered in Lebanon during Ronald Reagan’s presidency. They rallied in support of their President. Not so with Romney and the GOP. They didn’t even wait for the bodies of the slain Americans to be brought home before they unleashed their ugly attacks on the President.
The GOP decided on day 1 they were not going to support President Obama – they would damage their country rather than stand with the President – a party of haters.
This is why, with all the complaints about the media this or that, while cathertic, is useless IMO. What counts is having Dems behave like they’re in a fight with dirty fighters and not to relent on any front. I like to imagine what the Rebugnants would’ve done with pure politcal talent like Obama and his accomplishments. What scorching fire they would’ve lit under a Dem who did what Issa did. Even when they were in the minority in congress, with their “fire Pelosi” and “where’re the jobs” mantra, they were always out there firing at the Dems. The Dems on the other hand seem scatter brained and helpless even when the target is slow moving. So, media this and that whatever.
You miss the point when you dismiss the role of the MSM in all of this. The MSM and GOP work in concert. That is why the GOP is able to win the messaging war. Did you ever notice how RW talking points always become the narrative the MSM runs with? This is not some happy coincidence. The MSM is able to tamp down on PBO’s message reaching the masses, and he is the greatest politician/political leader of his generation. The MSM controls who get access to the “microphone”. We depend on the 4th Estate to inform the populace, it is no crime to point out propaganda and a fixed game. To pretend that the MSM covers democrats and republicans the same way is both naive and unrealistic.
.@DarrellIssa – Hey traitor. Isn't Gen Petraeus in charge of CIA? Are you blaming him for your imagined Libya 'failure'. #Asshole.— (@amk4obama) October 20, 2012
Great tweets, Amk! It’s really sad for the United States that Darrell Issa, a man with a criminal past, now heads a major Congressional Committee. You second tweet hits the nail on the head. How can world leaders, and especially American allies, trust a pathological liar?

Oh geez—Joe and Mika on Weekend Today, as if that was needed, altho Mika has found a little bit of a voice recently. And Lester Holt just exasperated me by saying that he was in Florida this week and people told him they just want more information from the candidates—what?????????——and not “gotcha” interactions at the debates. I noticed that was the theme after Obama won the 2nd debate——–after first one, he was too laid back——-when he was more aggressive as everyone was imploring, well that debate was too hostile and bad, bad, bad.
I would take any “report” from any pundit about what people want with a grain of salt. The media has no clue what people want – the MSM represents a significant part of Romney’s campaign, and will spin every and anything that they believe will put Romney in a better position.
RT’d. Congrats, Bobfr!
You’ve done some stellar #romnesia work today. I feel ‘cheated’ that I was called in to work today and so missed all the fun.
If I didn’t have tweetdeck on my iPhone I’d have missed it, as well

We’ve got quite a team, for sure, vc
We take care of our own!
Darrell Issa is a scumbag. First he puts the CIA in danger and now this.
So, we’ll just have to try to help in getting him voted out.
Hi
Tardy, tardy, tardy.
Nope. I came back when I said I would – tagged in with you too, but got no response. /frown min!/

Hi vc!!
Happy Friday!

Mitt Romney is Neither a Good Nor Decent Man
By Bob Cesca
——————————-
Whenever the chips are down, Romney leans on dog-whistles.

Finally…
Somebody calls it like it is…
Mitt Romney is neither a good nor decent man…
Woah……The Richard Dreyfuss is voting for Pres. Obama in the election.
Didn’t know he was a repub, but I’ve always loved his acting. Here’s hoping there are more ” compassionate conservatives” voting PBO come nov 6.
Evening all. Oh my goodness, this speech was hysterical. Funny and true.
Finally, I have some free time to retweet. Bring it on my tweeter leaders.
Hi Sonjia. Nice to see you.
Oh wow, the lady in Ed’s audience said that Robney is “the devil’s twin brother”.
It’s true.
Is that “Blaine” from Glee on the pic above with the hand salute “social Justice”?
Yep! That’s him. So cute!
I was wondering that too.
That’s Darrin Criss. My daughter is his PA and had known him for YEARS. He’s a very talented kid and sweet. His brother has a band called FREELANCE WHALES. I’m happy to know their young crowd is in the game politically.
Four years ago today:
He needs to shit or get off the pot. Where his endorsement now?
Ah, true Lisa, but much as I loathed what he was involved in in the GWB administration, I thought this endorsement was stunning, one of my favorite moments from the last campaign.
True, but he needs to make his choice known for 2012. He either has the balls to stand with PBO now, or stick with Crazy Mitt.
I’m not sure his voice carries the same weight now as it did four years ago, so I wouldn’t be too worried about him. If he endorses PBO good, if not: no worries.
My sense is he is waiting for after the foreign policy debate. That is his interest.
Honestly who want Colin Powell endorsement? He knows Mitt Romney is a bold face liar, but he is thinking about supporting him. What does that say about Powell.
Nothing good if you ask me.
Since the WMD speech at the UN, Powell has been dead to me. Either he was lying or was lied to and still stayed on with the liars. I used to think he was an honorable man. No more.
One of the things he said that I like very much is that PBO had the possibility and the opportunity to truly be a transformational president. And PBO has been all that and then some.
who cares at this point ? too little, too late.
Maybe he’ll voice his endorsement after the foreign policy debate. But yeah, he’s been pretty cowardly so far.
He will probably endorse after the foreign policy debate. For the endorsement to have real weight and impact, he must at least to appear to hear Mitt out. He has always been fairly supportive of PBO in interviews I have seen.
Exactly!
Don’t forget – Nate Silver was also advising people not to believe the immediate positive polls for President Obama.

Do you suppose they mean ‘exhorted’?
HI Everyone!
All the Obama posters are GONE!!
Wait a minute! You shared your buttons?! I have no intention of doing that.
I’m joking. No I’m not.
Have you tried calling about your order?
Peace to all…
Happy b/day, MK. Thanks for volunteering on this important day.
you take your cues from the key players in this campaign instead of media pundits who haven’t spoken to any actual voters in perhaps years.
Indeed.
A very Happy Birthday to you, MK:) Thank you for all you do, as well….and for your words of wisdom. I can’t think of a better way to spend your birthday, in fact…I may do the same next Friday on MY birthday:)
Happy early birthday Desertflower! Thank you for all YOU do everyday!
Thank you, love:)
What a great way to spend your special day, MK! I bet you were on a ‘high’ all day because of all the action and interaction you would have had around you. A very HAPPY BIRTH-NIGHT to you!!!
Happy Birthday MK and thank you for all you are doing to help re-elect our President!!!
#FORWARD
Happy Birthday MK. Good for you and peace be on you as well.
Happy Birthday, MK, sounds like you are having a fine day, doing exactly what you want, as it should be, and helping your country at the same time!
GREAT message and a very, very Happy Birthday to you, MK. Thanks for all you’re doing and for bringing so many rays of HOPE to this space!!
Happy Birthday MK. I’m glad you had such a beautiful and productive day. You speak words of wisdom.
Happy Obama birthday, MK! All the way with MK!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Wise and timely words @MK. Thank you for this perspective; I needed it. Will pass on, if you don’t mind?
Thanks for all of the birthday wishes. It’s been a great day. Eveningeorgia, please do feel free to spread the message that all is well and that the Obama campaign is ON IT with GOTV… Feel free to share anything you’d like, really
Happy Birthday, MK!! Getting President Obama re-elected will be a gift to the world. Excellent advice, too.
The ladies have written 2 posts in 2 days
http://margaretandhelen.com/2012/10/19/thank-you-ann-for-clarifying-that-your-husband-mitt-is-indeed-a-liar/
Love them….
They’re wonderful treasures….
The Romney boys, I mean rich arrogant men are wimps.
That had to be expensive.
Very interesting, indeed:) If you get that call from the reporter….please share
Trust me, I will not only share but provide a link if it is published.
Careful japa21. The Trib is a right leaning rag.
That’s why this election isn’t about Obama, it’s about your Momma.
On my facebook page I get the Daily Kos and they have a story that the biggest newspaper in Utah has gone with the President. They are giving their endorsement for President Obama to win. I am so happy.
You can read the entire endorsement on the last thread…Chips has it up. It’s a doozy!!
MITT ROMNEY ENDORSED THE BLUNT AMENDMENT
============================================

Friday Nite Sillies:
Who do you think sings better in the shower? Chuck Todd or Mark Knoller?
hf, really!!! I never, ever needed that image in my brain!!!!
noooo…bleach on brain!!! bleach on brain…!! LALALALALALAL I can’t hear you….LALALALAL
Who really gives a rats a*Z……..?
I’ll bite.
LOLOLOL! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Chuckles croaking and Hog man squealing..
And then they’d probably hug.
What did we do to you, hopefruit? What could have deserved this image in our brains??
BRAIN BLEACH REQUIRED!!!!
That’s no lie Lootenant! You can take that to the bank….:-D
Please save this comment, lamh, and read it often in days, weeks, years, ahead.
And, thank you, for including all of us in such an important self-revelation.
“Romnesia” must be getting to the Robney campaign, because they are doing their usual complaining, “it is not presidential”. I could write a book on the non-presidential things he has done. My hat goes off to the person who thought of this word.
I hope he can at least do something. Not sure what though….
The number of laws infringed, and the endangerment of US personnel and Libyans that Issa is now, beyond any reasonable doubt, implicated, will enable the President, especially after 6 Nov., to prosecute the dude.
Oops sorry Bob – didn’t realize you had already posted this! This is HUGE. And takes away Willard’s talking point!
Not a problem, hf. This should be posted dozens of times!
This makes my blood boil. Who the hell is voting for these ppl?
Best. Tweet. Ever. That is all.
As I recall, Al-qaeda usually own up to their terror, they take responsibility, we did not hear from them on this attack in Libya. So who really is resposible for this attack? Hmmm.
Hmmm, indeed. Who had the most to gain… Just putting that out there.
After what Nixon and Reagan did, nothing would surprise me.
The GOP? I don’t put anything past them. They love war.
Romney is definitely “The Other,” and I’d modify that slightly to “The Other-Worldly.” As in: E.T., phone home.
I think the ETs vanquished him to earth. They wanted to get rid of him also. Too.
You betcha. Lot of sighs of relief on those other terrains. Send him back!
Not “one of us”.
One word: “TRAITORS.” Bob, as always, you are doing wonders on twitter.
Thank you, friend!!!

Rx treatment for Romnesia

I’d strongly recommend they take that photo image outta the ad. Yuck. Can’t stand looking at his dead-eyed head.
Replace it with the one from the debate when he realized PBO ate his lunch
You mean the one that would make a good substitute for a “Beware of Dog” sign?
Good times.
sweet
Very sweet!
Nope – it’s all of us. All Obama, all the time! And I love it!
I love it, too! Good morning!
Good morning – I’m a little further behind you this west coast morning, but trying to catch up!
I’m sure Ann and Tagg want to punch Obama out for Mitt.

The GOP are willing to jeopardize the entire country in their pursuit of power. I don’t think they’re above throwing Petraeus under the bus.
Anyone here know if there are any possible official actions that can be taken against Darrell Issa, either by POTUS or Congress? He should face consequences for this outrageous behavior.
Someone earlier said that the information wasn’t actually classified, so while it was reprehensible and unethical, he probably can’t be prosecuted.
Thanks, theo67. But I’m struck by that CIA operatives in an extremely volatile Libya wouldn’t be subject to classified protection. Doesn’t make sense.
Perfect – thanks for the correction, Bob. I got my info from twitter on that one.
No problem, theo. Issa is in a world of big trouble, now.
It is for all of us to be sure he suffers, mightily, for his deceitful, traitorous actions.
He needs to be removed from a position of authority in the United States. He’s actually endangering the country and its people.
Where is John Boehner? Oh I forgot he isn’t the leader, where is Canter and the Tea Party?
Given that it’s Andrea Greenspan Mitchell, this will definitely not help Issa ….
All true, nath.
#PRESSON
I agree!
Agree. I will do the same, nath.
Thank you.
Glad I scrolled up, before departing.
Here’s my final tweet of the night ….
Good night, friend.
That’s exactly whom I was talking about.
I sent my absentee ballot through the mail. I hope it goes through but put phone down just in case if there is a problem.
excellent work Jeff…#forward
Jeff you can call and make sure your absentee ballot was received. The lady at the elections board told me that I could do that for my Mom ballot and I will do so too.
For the record … as despicable as it is and disgraceful to our America ….
Time for some rest …
Now, I’ll rest a bit ….
Bob, you deserve it. You’re a boss
. So glad we are playing on the same team.
GOP are the worst of humanity.
Great tweets, Amk! It’s really sad for the United States that Darrell Issa, a man with a criminal past, now heads a major Congressional Committee. You second tweet hits the nail on the head. How can world leaders, and especially American allies, trust a pathological liar?
Our Prez twitter machine is working hard on alerting people to the danger of #Romnesia.
Ann Romney November 6th…..Ann Romney Novemebr 7th. But buck up Ann, at least all your children are out of harm’s way, and the Caymans welcome your visit!
Mitt takes so many positions, even Kama Sutra blushes
EXCELLENT news to wake up to!! Thanks, dotster:)
Great news of the day.
