12:35 AM ET: President Obama Delivers remarks at a campaign event at Doolittle Park, Las Vegas
****

President Obama shares a moment with Jay Leno off set of the Tonight Show at NBC Studios, March 19, 2009 (Pete Souza)
Don’t forget, President Obama is on Jay Leno’s show tonight

Hi
Really? You’re so good to me!
Here’s a funny: saw a Dennis Kuchinich bumper sticker taped inside the rear window of a car in the morning commute! I burst out laughing!
Dear Chipsticks, I know you are busy, taking care of all of us, but tonight, as I really nailed first (well, not all alone), I would so love it if you would post a picture for me ~ your pick, I promise I will love it (maybe) (as long as it’s one of Bo Obama!)
Pamela!!!!
Oh! Oh! You must have read my mind, even as I was pleading! Never mind what I said! I am in love! {{{{{{CHIPS ~ PBO}}}}}}
I think this was the night we had dinner, and PBO was saying how dog-goned pleased he is by all the incredible supporters on TOD, and how much he just loves reading the blog in his spare time! Especially that Chipsticks ~ first rate character that one! That is what he is saying (to me) (in this pic) (Right cookemom?)
Yes you are exactly right. I was there, and heard every word from under the table.
Yay for Pamela!!!!
#TrustBarack
Go Pamela!!!
Bowing,
Go Pamela!
and blushing,
You are so cute.
My! My! My…. friend Pamela is at the top of the podium! CONGRATS, Miss P!

BTW, do you have a twitter account?
Just phonebanked Nevada: many already voted!
We sure did. I’m taking seniors tomorrow to the polls to vote early – both Hispanic and both voting the straight Dem ticket.
What a champ!!!!! Thank you idon!!!!
#TrustBarack – He’s EARNED It
Well done Idon! This is the kind of news I want to hear the remaining 12 days. No more doom and gloom punditry until Nov.7th.
I feel so damned good about this election! So good! I’m actually giddy! I’m hoping to early vote on Wednesday or next Saturday. I’m going home to cast my vote for PBO! Forget the polls, peeps! Look at the electoral map!
Ps- Ohio! Don’t let us down! Iowa, the same goes, so too for WI!
Pps- I’d love for PBO to win FL, just as an FU to Willard, but in this election, we can’t afford to be petty! Eyes on the prize baby! I smell VICTORY!!!!
Ppps- vote like your life depends on it: it does.
Great comment, Lisa!!!! This is soooooo much fun and we are going to win!!!
#TrustBarack
I smell victory too!!!
I awoke this morning just so calm and at peace about the elections for the first time. I just can’t explain it, but something very powerful happened in heaven today and this election has been called for President Obama!!!
I believe it with every fiber in my being!!!
It is now up to all of us to step up and put the finishing touches to what will be a glorious victory!!!
Shalom.
Forward!!!
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!!!!!!!!!!111!11!!! *gnashing of teeth and rending of garments*
https://twitter.com/Lib_Librarian/status/261291339369549826
LOL!!!
Almost made the top 10.
Naw Admiral. You’ll never find this sailors head stuck in a jar. Unless they sell Jack Daniels or Meyers in one. Do they?
This was the closest I could find Yardarm:
Aye Missy. That’ll do quite nicely. Fill it up please.
It’s something in the water, isn’t it ?
It’s Bombay Sapphire, I thought on first glance…..
It’s not dark enough!
Oooooh, fussy!
I’ve already indicated me preferences, eh?
Gulp…. Oh dear…
YES!!! Remember we were all TERRIFIED in 2008 until PN came in on election night and it was over and then it turned out to be a route? mclame got that hideous bump with the blathering Imbecile from Alaska and WTF???
Oh, well maybe it was just me?
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Me too – I was watching CNN online (cause in those days I knew little about US media other than CNN) and had to wait until the west closed to actually believe that PBO had won – brought back the faith in the US that we knew before those WMD.
By then I was watching MSNBC (loved Keith O’s passion and Rachel’s analysis). On election night, we were in a restaurant that would only show CNN or FOX though. Whole family alternatde between fear of 2000 repeat & depression until 11PM ET when Wolf made the announcement. We were shocked, then elated!!!
But, remember, we were sent a text message on 62262 just after the election was called, from Barack, thanking us for all we had done to make history, then he went out in stage to accept his achievement! And later, the first 1,000,000 donors to the campaign, found in our mailboxes one day, a gold embossed invitation to the Inauguration ~ the One in a Million invitations…. Amazing! Priceless! Historic!
Wow – I didn’t know about the embossed invitations to donors! How lovely. I hope it’s warmer this inauguration – I can’t wait!
Good memories. Now you’re making me look for my invite. I received one as well. Don’t remember seeing it after looking in my collection. Safe keeping, huh.
I checked Nate Silver obsessively every day. On election night I was out knocking on doors to make sure people could get to the polls or had voted. Everyone we contacted had already voted. We came back to the headquarters at about 8:00 when the polls closed. I watched for a while at the HQ and then decided to drive home. I was in the car when they called Ohio, and I just started screaming and blaring my horn. I diverted to my friend’s house – I just had to be with someone who was as excited as I was. She and her husband were in their pjs watching the tv and jumping around like maniacs!
I hope to make the top 10 before Christmas
Meanwhile, amk posted this on the last thread – so impressive – can someone tell me if I am dreaming the figures from North Carolina?
http://elections.gmu.edu/early_vote_2012.html
Party Reg
Dem 51.2%
Rep 30.2%
None/Oth 18.6%
Age
18-29 10.0%
30-44 16.1%
45-59 27.7%
60+ 46.2%
46% aged 60+ and dems are 51 to GOP 30 on party reg – wow
Sweet!
I hate to be a Debbie Downer abt. NC but a lot of the Dem votes are Reagan Dems who vote R. and most are 60+…It’s a racial “thing”, sad but true….however the 30% AA vote is incredible…Latino vote very disappointing..The unaffiliated vote I feel will be O’s..I really and truly still BELIEVE!
Ok, I need a cocktail. Who’s with me?
I am in. It’s 8 am but what the hell, it’s 8 pm somewhere.
It’ll be 8 pm in L.A. in 20 minutes. Now I have to decide between a Manhattan or a gimlet.
Both!
Freeloader.
I might!
Gimlet. Always.
Well, Manhattan to start. I’ve had a lot of gimlets lately.
It’s always cocktail time somewhere, amk – love it!!!
I stick to red wine and just poured a glass — cheers!!!!
#TrustBarack – and we will all be celebrating his 2nd Inauguration in Jan 2013!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers Bob. I like red wine too.
Also. Too. whiskey, brandy, rum, vodka, tequila, schnapps
My doctor’s strict orders – Liquid diets only.
Green to the giles doesn’t become you.
A truly equal opportunity consumption specialist
Yup.
I love red wine too. Now I am into Pinots. I think Oregon has some of the best Pinot Noirs! I am not as familiar with the reds from Washington. When it comes to the hard stuff like whiskey, gin, Vodka and rum my age begins to show as I can only consume one or two shots. Oh the good old days of youth!
nath, some really nice OR Pinots for sure. WA State has some exceptional reds from folk like John Abbott, Mark McNeilly, Chris Upchurch, James Mantone, and the miraculous Bob Betz. A bunch of hype around some others that I’ll leave unmentioned.
For me, the divine Pinot Noirs in the US (and anywhere else on the planet) come from the ‘two Garys’ – Franscioni & Pisoni – in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Magical wine, totally magical!!!
#TrustBarack !!!
Drinking wine over here.
I see I arrived at the end of all the drinking – good timing. I can at least make sure you all clean up after yourselves.
VC, a glass or two of red wine is actually good for you. That’s what my doctor told me. My problem is that I sometimes don’t stop at one or two glasses; especially when I am with good friends.
1 or 2 glasses of red is certainly ‘good for you’ … after that, well … just don’t drive
The end of the drinking?? I think you arrived at the toast-making. Clearly not the end. If the President is staying awake all night, then how can we abandon him?
Two+ glasses and you can’t tell what the Pres is saying., Nath. Theo, it’s not fair to the Pres if you are drinking and he isn’t.
Wish I’d previously thought of liquoring you guys (in particular -the gurls) up whenever PBO was in the vicinity. Wouldn’t have been any need for all those mats, except maybe one big one for you all to snooze on. Man, as PBO already knows, having a plan is a masterful idea!
On second thoughts, you all go right ahead, then I’ll be the only sober one so Pres and I can have a nice uninterrupted chat session.
Some of us have been training for a while with the drinking. Takes more than two glasses… nice try!
Gotta get that dress for the wifey unit.
Well, if there’s only one – back off: it’s mine!
First saw. First bought. Back to the line, lady.
You want war sunshine, you got it!!!
man u. man u. man u.
losers. losers. losers.
Oooooooooh, it’s a dirty war, is it?
Look in to my eyes:
Be afraid.
pfft. that’s all you got ?
Wayne’s eyes are all I need, baby – start begging for forgiveness right now.
The guy can’t even kick a ball, so how’s he gonna kick …..?
Denying his genius is like denying, dunno, climate change?
All hot air.
Great story about lunch at the pizza place in Davenport today. Here’s part of it:
The President ate all but two of the slices in his 8-slice pie, and left “a fabulous” tip after lunch, Sierra said. She declined to say how much, but said the President paid the bill in cash. He also tried to calm his over-the-moon server, who is 32 and has worked at the eatery since June.
“I was very, very nervous, and extremely excited,” Sierra said. “I am a big supporter of Obama, so that made it even worse.”
The President’s guests were Vicki Felger, a nurse and health care assistant; Marcia Teshak, a retired phone company worker; and Deb Willaredt. One of the women was surprised that the President knew personal details about her, according to pool.
“I told you, I do my homework before I sit down,” the President was overheard saying. “I am not
just going to show up. You guys know everything about me. I would be at a disadvantage.”
Sierra said the President “was a gentleman” during the lunch, putting everyone at ease, and continuing to calm her down.
“He was very down to earth,” Sierra said. “He hugged me, and remembered my name–he said ‘Coco, I still need my check.’”
http://obamafoodorama.blogspot.com/2012/10/president-obama-leaves-fabulous-tip.html
“I still need my check”.
nitpick, nitpick, nitpick.
That’s MY President!
My President is not a cheap freeloader like Mitt!
How does he remember the details of his guests, as well as everything else he has to remember? He’s brilliant!
Awesome.
IT’S ON, OTEAM!!
Early reports from Jay Leno appearance say that POTUS goes after Mourdock big time.
WOOOOOOT!!!!
Wooot!
“I don’t know how these guys come up with these ideas…rape is rape. It is a crime.”
Well said Mr. President! I am sick and tired of these Republicans trivializing GOD! Using their logic, If a woman is killed by a rapist we should attribute her death to GOD. Do any of these Republican men running for office have wives, daughters, sisters or mothers?
I voted today in Texas. I live close to Fort Hood. There were so many people waiting in line to vote. GIs, Latinos and Blacks. Texas made be the November surprise for PBO!
That would be awesome vjordan.
That would be awesome beyond my wildest dreams. I would love for Texas (not just Austin) to turn blue. And I would love it if the military goes totally for Obama … he cares about them. Romney does not …. except to have them fight for his freedom to screw others over.
Yes! That is a great idea!
Oh, that would be great!
LOLz!!!!
Awaiting President Obama’s departure from LA – http://www.cbsnews.com/liveFeed/widget.shtml
Just saw Marine One fly overhead.
I saw an F-22 Raptor land at Macdill AFB today.
Looks like a Spaceship!
Area 51!!! Aliens!!! Coverup!!! Fiber optics!!!
(Sorry, channeling one of my more colorful library patrons.)
I have no idea what any of that means, except for the Spaceship part…
Sounds fascinating!
I looked at his map; he’s not even flying OVER Michigan. I haz a sad! A big, big sad!
His heart is with Michigan…?
Well, I hope so, but I’d sure love the rest of him being here too!
We all have to share…
Thanks! I haven’t been able to watch one of these live in a while…
And there have been so many today. CBS has done a marvelous job covering them today. Only missed Iowa. Willard was on when he was coming into LAX, but he got done in time and CBS switched to the landing. Wonderful day all around.
Always, always, always a total THRILL.
Hope those reporters are enjoying staying up with PBO’s fitness levels – I can just imagine their whinges about the go go go
Found a pic of Limitless 5ive on my phone from Charlotte trip!
Here’s their latest…
I used to love this song! I’m “everyday people”!
LOVE AD! — From ATL!!
Love this, video report from Denver rally:
http://photos.denverpost.com/2012/10/24/obama-rally-at-denvers-city-park/
That was THE AWESOME.
Thanks Chips. I love, love, love videos like this.
Yeah and it’s about time. Hello?
Hey jovie – He is ahead when it matters – the early vote is looking great.
I was talking about the lagging of PPP.
Believe me, I am privy to the early vote.
Incidentally, I expect an Obama surge, soon!
PPP and Gallup have been lagging. Smh.
And Rasmussen. It’s what has the Beltway all wet!
I understand – the pollsters are catching up with reality – I’ve been expecting a landslide – and it’s on the way
You see?-
Trending our way again.
Btw- their is no way Robney is pulling 38% Hispanic vote.
And yet, we are still ahead.
I think PPP and Gallup pollsters are beginning to realize that voters are not paying attention to their propaganda polls. They are now beginning to pull back because they don’t want to be thoroughly embarrassed on Nov. 6th.
Ain’t that the truth.
Yup.
At this time, what was that in Lawrence’s Rewrite? Can someone explain it to me?
Liberal press is ridiculous. 3rd Party candidates? Jeeze!
Anyone have access to a livestream for Leno? please :-/ ?
Fancy that!
Indeedy. Reality bites.
What was he on Oct. 8? 70%?
I dunno. Maybe he had one of those ‘Come to Jesus’ moments.
Yup.
Thank god for OFA and blogs like TOD, TPV, POU and others that refused to buy into the media propaganda promoting Romney. People refused to be demoralized. Our refusal is paying off.
Chips – That is great! The more we mock this d-bag, the better!
Wahahahaahaha! Love it!
You go Chipsticks! I really love this.
By the way, Chips, judging from the last two debates, I think we should be demanding to see Romney’s grades that got him into Stanford and Harvard. I suspect he might have been a legacy student because his performance did not reveal such a great intellect; but then again, neither does the performance of Donald Trump. I doubt that Mitt or the Donald would have amounted to anything if it weren’t for their rich daddies.
Definitely a legacy student, like Dubya at Yale.
Local stream is up for President Obama’s Rally in Las Vegas (great sound) – http://www.8newsnow.com/category/187236/8-news-now-live-video
PBO is in Las Vegas? That hell…I thought he was just in LA? Dang he is not playing. While Romney sleeps this dude works like the dickens.
He’s on to Florida after Vegas – tonight!
Very good sound indeed! I can hear the engine crisp and clear. whoo! Exhilarating!
Curious.
Loving DWS’ campaign ad! Second ime I’m seeing it. Very good’
ONIGHT SHOW NOW!!!!
Drats. Above tweet deleted.
Here comes President Barack Obama on Jay Leno …
Hearing his soothing, confident voice is almost as good as having a bedtime story read to ya, no matter what age (I am) you are!
“Look, Ma, I got a fake Mitt Romney tan!”
Can’t Trump’s wife tell him when he is making a fool of himself. Can’t she say to him Trump honey you need to take your silly ass hair and go somewhere and shut your mouth.
This is a GREAT introduction for POTUS by Eddie Vedder and you can see POTUS really appreciated it.
That was a great intro for POTUS. Eddie Vedder’s story relates to my experience and I am sure to the experiences of many other Americans. No individual has ever attained success purely on his own.
Where is everyone?
Fighting sleep…
Fight hard, Hopefruit! PBO is funny!
LOL! Oh no…I was actually on Twitter when I started reading tweet after tweet about how great PBO was looking..so I jumped up and went to see for myself. I was not disappointed. The Twitter folk were correct!
Colbert is so on fiyaah! Fist bump!
POTUS ON!!!!
The tone in Jay Leno’s voice and the look on his face when he introduced the President was of pure reverence. I kid you not.
And the crowd went wild!
Who wouldn’t?
President Obama arrives in Las Vegas – http://www.8newsnow.com/category/187236/8-news-now-live-video
Thanks JER, I’m watching
Please Chips & TODers, if you can, post tonight’s Colbert’s opening segment. It was a beaut.
What am I doing? Watching POTUS on the Tonight Show.
Amen! Love how he said conceding every point to Miche is the reason he’s been married 20 years!
POTUS marry to his love 20 years. Instead of like that jackass Trump being married to 3 women.!!!!!!
Trump is an ignorant, spoiled, racist, jackass! Had he not been born a white male, who inherited money, he would be nowhere today. On the other hand, may be he would have made it to the ranks of the KKK.
He sounds so confident and relaxed yet energized at the same time. I cannot get enough of President Obama. I liked the way he complimented Vice-president Biden.
Everyone is saying how great PBO looks on Leno. I’m thinking so too.
I have my dvr set for Leno. I am watching AF1 land on one computer and listening to the rally on another. LOL Thanks for this wonderful local link.
His haircut is different. Probably a quick trim from an entirely different barber than the regular one!!!
Pres. Obama is doing fantastic on Leno.
He is. I love the questions, Jay is asking. He is going to ask him about the Supreme Court, VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!
Awesome. Air Force One lands in Vegas as POTUS is on the couch on the taped Jay Leno show.
This one I can watch – He is just wonderful to see
POTUS landing in LV!
Loving the jay leno show right now!
He is such a FINE man, totally.
OMG! HE WENT THERE! Soooo funny saying tht he and Trump’s feud started when they were growing up together in Kenya!!!!LOLOLOLOUD!!!!
Wahahahhaha Kenya!
Ok so I posted the live interview #2 did with ABC channel 7 news at the Fairfax Va rally last week. From the same rally is a print interview. She’s on page 3 of this publication. She talks about being an unemployed recent graduate, voting for PBO. Her main reason is being able to stay on my health insurance. Well, she’s since gotten a confirmation from Spain that a teaching job she’d applied to has opened up. So now #2 will be on her way to employment. Funny thing is, she will get health services there without having to go through insurance companies. Here’s the link: http://connectionarchives.com/PDF/2012/102412/Herndon.pdf
You should be very proud of #2!
Thanks I am very proud, but will sure miss her.
Naturally.
Congratulations to your daughter on her job! Good for her being willing to go and experience a different country.different culture! My daughter spent 3 months in Tours, France+2 weeks in Ouagadougou in her junior year, worked for 6 months in England as a substitute teacher, and just got back from a year in Tours working on her MA in French. I was able to visit her there early this summer. Beautiful town beautiful country – she loved it! She (and I!) would go back in a heartbeat.
Thanks maryl1, she is looking forward to the trip. Me, not so much. It sounds like our daughters are kind of on the same track. How exciting it must have been for her. I took French through high school and spent 6 weeks there on a summer program. I can’t speak or understand a lick of French. #2 worked a summer with children in Ecuador. Then in a woman’s hospital in Senegal, Africa as part of her biology degree. I call her a bag lady extraordinaire. After Spain, she has plans on getting into a MA/PHD program in cultural anthropology. I will officially be a true empty nester. My #1 and my grandchildren moved to No Dakota in August.
You can’t count on it, but sometimes they return to live close to the nest!
fingers crossed. Me and cookeman are going to have to find something to do, hmmmm wonder what that could be?
I’m still tryin’ to get over the “cookeman,” so you’re on your own coming up with that one. Methinks you’ll have no problem!
I feel your pain! While daughter was in England, Son was in San Francisco. so pretty much opposite ends of the earth. We did once arrange a conference call! He’s back in the area, still finishing BA degree in Art, but he’s so busy I hardly see him. Daughter is doing second year of degree in Bowling Green Ohio. I know she wants to move back to France if she can. Your daughter sounds amazing! It’s hard on us, but isn’t it great to have raised such interesting and adventurous children?
Fantastic news cookemom! Congrats to your daughter on the new job! This will be such a wonderful experience for her. You’ve given her the tools to be a successful, citizen of the world. Congratulations to you and hubby. As VPOTUS says that is a BFD!!
If you can send her off with an unlocked phone (one that works with any international carrier) and a laptop with internet capability (and Skype), it’ll make the separation a little easier. Once she get’s settled in, DO go and visit her if you can. That way you can be a part of that experience too. My sister did a couple of tours in the AF in Spain. Let me know where daughter’s gonna be and I’ll see if sis can offer some scoop on the locale. She’ll want to find out where the expats hangout while she’s there.
Aww thanks Dudette! Yes we’re so proud and this was something she really wanted to do. She was on a wait list forever, so it was a surprise when they notified her. We’ve gotten the background check, the finger printing, and now the VISA. She’ll be in Ponte Vedra, on the northwestern side of Spain. Thanks for your offer to see is sis can scoop the area. I really would like to visit, but not sure about the long flight. She’s hanging around til Nov 7. She doesn’t want to leave before she sees PBO soundly elected to office.
Katy Perry performing LIVE NOW at Pres. Obama’s Las Vegas rally.
http://www.mynews3.com/content/news/story/President-Obama-campaign-stop-in-Las-Vegas/gnWYWGf_3UW1Bo11gPh7QQ.cspx
THANK YOU for the link. It’s one I can watch on my iPad.
My Goodness, I’m overwhelmed..PBO on my little screen…PBO on my bigger screen…don’t know what to do, which way to turn…I’m just basking in pleasure right now!!!
It’s midnight and PBO is so damned energetic!
I know! Sprinting! After crisscrossing the country and at this ungodly hour. Dude has more energy than I do and I am half his age!
Remember, Michelle says PBO is a night owl. He stays up late reading and stuff.
I am a night owl myself and left-handed like him. Great miinds think alike? (smile)
My kinda guy. I knew we must have something in common.
I can relate to the President. I actually find the late night to be the best time to read because there is not that much noise interruptions. I am also a person who can function very well with four to six hours of sleep and some brief naps here and there. I very rarely go to bed before midnight.
He is fabulous at the airport – older white guy in baseball cap – overwhelmed!!
Pres. Obama PWNS Trump.
LOL!
Could be because he’ll be fine, no matter what happens next month …
It’s We The People who may not, if we don’t VOTE. We have to be smart enough in this country, surely to God, to get him re-elected. We simply must.
I think he’s feeling pretty good about the outcome of this election though.
Of course! He’s definitely giving that away!
You are probably right hopefruit2! On the other hand, President Obama is very secure about himself. Try as they may, they media will never be able to erase his impressive accomplishments in his first term. Obama’s first term accomplishments are as good as any of the best Presidents before him, if not better. Honest historian not blinded by racism will acknowledge that.
Katy Perry is rocking it on stage in her skin tight Barack Obama/Joe Biden dress.
Said her 91 year-old grandmother is voting early. Go gramma!
I love that dress – she’s “baracking” it!
Pics gals, pics ?
Oops, she’s done now, but I followed JER’s link upthread to Las Vegas. Sorry dude, but she was hot.
I’m in love with Katy Perry. That is all.
Very pleasantly surprised by her. She comes from a religious family and never thought she would be on our side. Great. Now where’s pink and them?
ut, and we should not be allowing politicians, mostly men, making these decision about women’s health. I loved when POTUS said that.
He’s a natural.
Ok all, 3 Manhattans have done me in. See all of youse on the flip side.
G’night, LL.
Sweet dreams, LL
LL, You seem like someone who always has a lot of fun even as you fighting against these right wing GOP nuts. Any way, I hope you have a restful sleep. We need you refreshed and ready to take on these imbecile, know-nothing, teabag Republicans.
Katy Perry’s dress is too funny.
Great dress:)
Ever day should be like this – 24 hour wall-to-wall multi-media POTUS!!
I’m with you, Meta! I was saying the same to my sister last week – if only we could just watch what goes on behind the scenes all the time – it must be so entertaining!
His life is completely fascinating, a million different things ever day!!
He’s one in a billion, that’s for sure. I don’t even want to think about 2016. Just enjoy him now.
Wait…PBO is going to speak after this Katy Perry concert? Yowza! Granted, it’s only 9:30 here, but he’s been a very busy guy today!! I love you, Mr. President!!
He’s flying to Florida after this event, and speaking at an early morning event! Then on to Chicago to vote early. I don’t know how he does it.
Thanks, theo:) He’s more than just a little amazing….
Obamacare covers all pre-existing conditions (romnesia). LOL!!
Loved Obama on Leno. I could listen to him from now until a week from Tuesday——-or forever. And be so happy! He is just so smooth and so appealing.
PBO SAYS GET OUT THERE AND VOTE. EVERYBODY HAS A VOICE AS LONG AS THEY EXERCISE IT.
Wise Up. Vote OBAMA/BIDEN
Much of the Leno show is now online – for folks like me who couldn’t see it live
http://www.nbc.com/the-tonight-show/video/president-obama-on-debates-102412/1421832/
Perfect. Thanks!
Thanks so much for the link. The clip where President Obama is talking about Carrot Top is priceless. He totally destroys him while flashing that million dollar smile with the wicked laugh. Jay Leno really got a kick out of his response.
Anyone who comes to the WH from Ohio Halloween will get a giant Hershey, POTUS was so cool and funny.
Anyone who comes by the WH for Halloween, who is from Ohio will get a giant Hershey bar, no fruit.
O/T but I cannot wait to see the movie “Lincoln” in November. A friend sent me a gift card for tickets.
It looks very, very good. And – Daniel Day Lewis, so yeah.
Yeah – I hear ya!
Boy was that an excellent Jay Leno show or what?!
Pres. Obama killed it on Leno!
President Obama looks like he is posing for a spread in Gentlemen”s Quarterly. He is such a class act and oh so charming.
Indeed, he is.
The people at the rally are fired up – screaming “four more years” over the music.
My fave part of the interview is PBO talking about joy riding in his friend’s Chevy Volt! Hahahahahahaha!!
But, is there any broken glass in the place?
HAHAHAHAHA! We’ll have to wait for an update from Chuckles tomorrow….
Believe me, theo67, there are always some broken glasses in Vegas. Now I can’t vouch for the fact the broken glasses this evening were caused by the President’s supporters; but then again I can’t vouch that they were not a result of 13,000 of his supporters who turned out to see him. What’s indisputable is the fact that 13,000 enthusiastic people showed up to welcome President Obama on a work day. Normally that size of that crowd is what you would expect on sunny saturday when people don’t have to go to work the next day.
woohoo – and they are all voting early
Romney and his running mate… held a rally in Henderson on Tuesday. About 6,000 supporters attended.
http://www.ktnv.com/news/local/175723241.html
And that includes those who were paid, bused in, etc…
hopefruit2 i started to say that same thing.
Hay Chuck Todd, only 6000. What’s wrong Chuck?
5999 were bus in.
The people at the rally are doing the wave.
First Lady Michelle Obama is set to speak to supporters in Las Vegas on Friday. http://www.ktnv.com/news/local/175723241.html
They want Nevada bad. And they will have it.
They already do
Too right, Bob!
Paul Ryan has to be jealous that he’s not on the fun campaign…
I don’t think he’d recognize fun if it beat the shyte out of him. (Sorry – I lost it a little just then.)
And you’re probably right!
I can’t wait for him to both lose the big race AND his congressional seat.
I’m almost relishing the loss of his seat more than the loss of the VP post. One was actually his, while the other was a pipe dream that he never had a right to dream about.
Well said. I’m with you!
You know theo67, if Ryan looses his seat, and President Obama is re-elected, I will definitely party all night. I may have to take a day off on Wednesday, Nov. 7th.
Oh – I’ve already blocked the day! I’m thinking of blocking the next day, too…
I’m sorry, but that story about PBO joy riding is fricking hilarious!
I absolutely love this. Can’t wait for the 100% tweet on Nov 6!!
IT’S ON …. President Obama being introduced by a great Iraq Veteran!!!!
You nailed it Bobfr…..as hard as its been for us, this man has had so much shit and hate sent his way…but he brushes it off, knowing how much we need his leadership to guide us. I’d like to think we help him too!
We do help him, Carla. He knows that millions and millions of Americans and people all over the world love, respect and cherish him. He knows because we tell him. Let’s just tell him the way it matters most – get every single person we know to vote for him!
#TrustBarack
13,000 people!!!! Yippeeeeeee!
That’s love!
Our President – at 354 AM Eastern Daylight Time is ROCKING Nevada … This Leader is IN IT FOR ALL OF US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This crowd is totally in to IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FIRED UP!
I love this crowd!
He can’t control the ones behind him.
Loving this.
Dang, he is just so lively, he is just so much fun, and these folk in LV know they are at an event that rivals anything they have ever experienced in their lives.
This is SO MUCH BETTER THAN 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
President Obama, with this 24 hour campaign extravaganza, is showing that he’s not planning to wake up on Nov 7 and wonder if he could have done more. He will have done everything he can do. Poured his heart and soul into this campaign. He needs to be rewarded for that effort.
OMG, PBO is having so much fun!!!
WOW…My President is WOW….WOW….And the crowd is JUST eating this up!!
I love him back – I sure do
POTUS trying to make a serious point about his plan and all the crowd wants to do is shout, “FOUR MORE YEARS” and “WE LOVE YOU.” HAAAAAA!!
Seriously, what does he eat?! I mean the dude is like a machine. He is as energetic as earlier this morning…actually maybe even more energetic.
More energetic, cman … that speech is off the charts powerful!!!!!!!!!!
Hope he is getting at least some kind of sleep.
I’m sure POTUS will get some rest on the trip to Florida.
Good. He also needs a decent meal. The mother in me is coming out.
I know right? I want to give him a big ol’ juicy hamburger or something.
Then put him in the Air Force One bed and put a warm comforter over him with 2 or 3 fluffy pillows and one of his favorite books and just let him use the reading light while the rest of the room is dim and make sure that he gets to talk to Mrs. First Lady Michelle before he dozes off.
The crowd is Fired Up. I wish I was there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen of TOD, for any of you who have not had the privilege to see this LV speech in real-time, please see it as soon as you can, because this is THE MOMENT when President Obama makes it clear he is not only going to win on 6 Nov but he is just getting started helping each and every American achieve their fullest potential.
This is like no other speech I’ve ever seen him give – and he’s given some amazing campaign speeches in the past.
Savor it everyone – this is as good as it gets.
Each of us determine whether any other American in the future – most as yet not conceived – ever have an experience like this ….
Miraculous. Magical.
Yes We Can
Open, honest and real – the world is safe with this man in charge.
Precisely, 99!
Thank you so much Bob – I am not quite understanding twitter – you are just so great
he is definitely type ‘A’
That podium is getting slapped harder and more times every single speech! Three hard smacks this time!!
DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!!!! What an amazing barn burner of a RALLY speech!!!
does it look to anyone else like there are more Secret Service these past 2 days?
Yep. They know. He’s the ‘next’ President of the USA and they are keeping him safe for all of us and humanity.
As the crowds get bigger – there must be more – number 1 reason why there are no massive outside venues – which Chuck Todd is too stupid to realize
Yep.
chuck Wad disgusts me. Hw is a rat.
Indeed, he is precious, Bobfr.
Never thought that security was “crowd-sized” Great point, 99ts
Nite all….
Three Smacks On The Podium!!!
he’s kissing lots of women tonight! they are fired up!!
Ooo lordie, never watched the rope line working before. My word you could lose a finger in that mob.
That was wonderful. Good night all!
Oh no Mom is not moving in. if she is stupid enough to vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, let them move under the bridge.
My Mom voted for Obama/Biden.
Good to see John McCain withdrawing his support of Mourdock – great news for Willard Romney
Mitt can’t withdraw his support for Murdoch, he needs those racists Republican Tea Party folks.
Boom shacka-lacka! Go Tally!
So wish Chips and other folk on the East Coast could have seen this one, live, but the video will be a classic, forever.
President Obama, tonight in LV, made it clear why he will be our next President and has set the bar higher for any future Presidential candidate than any President or candidate has in my life time.
Thank you President Obama.
Night all. It was a good day…tomorrow will be even better:) FORWARD!
Now I know where all the sensible Republicans are, they are run out of the party or they are afraid to speak up about where their party have gone and sunk. Every now and then one will speak up.
Hay sensible Republicans, want to do what’s right. Vote Obama/ Biden.
Paul Ryan proved what a fool he is today suggesting “private charity” is the way to go – no doubt the sort of charity that picks what/who it wants to support – maybe like Komen that spends much of its funds on itself and tries to defund groups that really help women. Perhaps he meant the charities that help pregnant women & dump them on the streets after the babe is born (while suggesting they give the children up for adoption).
Private charity demands the poor and needy fall over themselves in the “thank you masta” vane – it has no place in current society other than an adjunct to government safety nets. I support 2 charities each year (with only a small amount) but I choose which ones – there would be mayhem if this was the total program.
Paul Ryan has 19th century ideas on poverty relief – if anyone has been involved in research on poverty as existed before governments provided safety nets – they know the failure that was “private charity”
President Obama – he talked programs and education and employment and helping folks to help themselves – He understands the reality of poverty – he doesn’t ignore it and grind people down as do Romney/Ryan. I am incensed that this pair consider they have any strenths of use to the American people. Wow – did PBO get me going today – bless him & keep him safe
http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/candles.cfm?l=eng&gi=PBO
I listen to a small amount – simply to know what they are spinning – this is close to the worst I have ever heard – bringing religion into government services – he’s preaching – not campaigning. The GOP nominees are turning to “God” because their policies are big failures.
A little history lesson for the uninformed Paul Ryan: the reason the government got involved in providing a safety net in the early 20th century is because PRIVATE CHARITY FAILED and was unable and unwilling to fill the need of the disadvantaged in a fair way.
A poor Jewish kid (like my parents, pulling the peddler’s cart in the streets of NY) could not avail themselves of “Christian” charities unless they swore allegiance to Jesus Christ.
The whole point of the government FINALLY stepping in (thanks to brave people like Jane Adams) was that there could no longer be these petty, religious tests in order to get a bowl of soup.
The notion, particularly under this tax situation, that charity will fill the gap is as retrogressive an idea as I’ve ever heard.
By the way, did Paul Ryan step in and make up the difference for that St. Vincent DePaul soup kitchen when his party decided to decimate it?
Crickets. you fucking hypocrite, Paul Ryan.
Thanks 57 – precisely – I know the English history much better than the US – but it went the same way. I was simply checking C-span to see where the liars were today & what their latest story was when I saw his speech – Romney – there is NOTHING on C-span for today from Romney – guess he is trying to work out what is his latest policy on children “conceived as god’s will” should be.
Rest well friends and how wonderful it is that you’ll be sharing with future generations tonight’s LV speech by President Obama!
Martha Plimpton on LOD tonight: the Repubs looking toward “the sunny side of rape”. Wow. Just wow.
Chips, if you can link to the segment with Martha Plimpton and Cecile Richards. Fantastic.
Awesome
One more
ok – one more…
We can’t let this about Romney supporting that guy Richard Murdoch be swept under the rug by the media. If there are any undecided women out there, this should make you a decided one, for Obama/Biden.
And men if you love your women, you should be concern about how these politicians want to take your woman’s rights away. Her right to make decisions which ought to be made by the woman and her family.
Remember Leno ask POTUS if he could have a super power what would it be? He said flying. Remember FLOTUS on Live with Kelly and Michael and she was ask if she could have a super power, and she said ……… flying.
This may have been posted – if you haven’t seen it – hear how your family can survive without you while you campaign – Al Franken for Elizabeth Warren

Palm Beach back in spotlight
By ANDREW RESTUCCIA | 10/25/12 4:29 AM
The problem this time: 27,000 filled-out absentee ballots in Palm Beach County that were misprinted and cannot be read by tabulation machines. County officials are having the results from all those ballots copied onto properly laid-out ballots, with representatives from both the Obama and Romney campaigns watching for signs of trouble.
WTF? At least it’s being fixed, but they need to 65 cents stamp that as soon as they get it.
Tweet this to OFA Florida!
Hi Jovie – so they fix it by copying ballots – wonder why the don’t just manually count the ballots? Florida always has a problem with machines counting votes – funny about that.
At least they are aware of it and are trying to Ameliorate the problem.
Tampa, Florida — Hundreds of people lined up well before 6:30 this morning … to secure their top spots in line for this morning’s Obama Rally… Air Force One touched down just after 6:30am, logging about 6,500 miles in less than two days. … The rally gets started at 9am.
Colin Powell just endorsed PBO on CBS!
Good to hear – should have done it weeks ago.
Colin Powell just endorsed Obama, MSM days no big deal.
I think it’s great!
Yup. The same msm fuckers would have made it a big deal if powell had gone the other way.
So that talking point is out now and to that extent this is a good endorsement.
Michael Tomasky (daily beast) said – 3 days ago, about Powell – “I think he’s still the most powerful single endorser in the country, probably”
Apparently, only if he endorsed Willard. If it’s the President, no big deal, nothing to see hear.
The MSM is a joke, hypocritical.
Colin Powell endorses Obama.
Gen. Colin Powell just endorsed Pres. Obama for a 2nd term. That sound you hear is GOP heads exploding and Romney crying.
TAMPA, Fla. – President Barack Obama has resumed his campaign marathon in Florida, delivering doughnuts to a firehouse less than five hours after he wrapped up the previous day’s campaigning in Las Vegas.
On the way to his first scheduled event Thursday, Obama and his entourage pulled into a Krispy Kreme store near downtown Tampa. He chatted with two young brothers and bought them doughnuts after asking their father for permission. Then he bought four dozen glazed doughnuts to go.
The president delivered the still warm doughnuts to firefighters and emergency workers at a firehouse in Tampa. He told the crew he’s normally not out this early, but wanted to come by to thank them for their work. http://www.startribune.com/politics/national/175766941.html
We have video.
Now we all want Donuts.
HAD to be – also up 16 with women – wipes out some other thoughts about who women support.
New PPP poll of VA

The new AP poll that has Robney up 2 with 8% undecided???

More good news.
Morning everyone!
http://theobamadiary.com/2012/10/25/rise-and-shine-and-heads-up-president-obama-in-tampa/
Have you seen this??
http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2012/10/obamas-edge-the-ground-game-that-could-put-him-over-the-top/264031/#
Obama’s office suite in Sterling was in an office park next to a dentist’s office. The front window was plastered with Obama-Biden signs, the door was propped open, and the stink bugs that plague Virginia in the fall crawled over stacks of literature — fliers for Senate candidate Tim Kaine, Obama bumper stickers — piled on a table near the front reception desk. In rooms in front and back, volunteers made calls on cell phones, while in the interior, field staffers hunched over computers. One wall was covered with a sheet of paper where people had scrawled responses to the prompt, “I Support the President Because…”, while another wall held a precinct-by-precinct list of neighborhood team leaders’ email addresses.
Only about a mile down the road was the Republican office, a cavernous, unfinished space on the back side of a strip mall next to a Sleepy’s mattress outlet. On one side of the room, under a Gadsden flag (“Don’t tread on me”) and a poster of Sarah Palin on a horse, two long tables of land-line telephones were arrayed. Most of the signs, literature, and buttons on display were for the local Republican congressman, Frank Wolf. A volunteer in a Wolf for Congress T-shirt was directing traffic, sort of — no one really seemed to be in charge and there were no paid staff present, though there were several elderly volunteers wandering in and out. The man in the T-shirt allowed me to survey the room but not walk around, and was unable to refer me to anyone from the Romney campaign or coordinated party effort.
These basic characteristics were repeated in all the offices I visited: The Obama offices were devoted almost entirely to the president’s reelection; the Republican offices were devoted almost entirely to local candidates, with little presence for Romney. In Greenwood Village, Colorado, I walked in past a handwritten sign reading “WE ARE OUT OF ROMNEY YARD SIGNS,” then had a nice chat with a staffer for Rep. Mike Coffman. In Canton, Ohio, the small GOP storefront was dominated by “Win With Jim!” signs for Rep. Jim Renacci. Obama’s nearest offices in both places were all Obama. In Canton, a clutch of yard signs for Sen. Sherrod Brown leaned against a wall, but table after table was filled with Obama lit — Veterans for Obama, Women for Obama, Latinos for Obama, and so on. The Obama campaign uses cell phones exclusively, while the Republicans use Internet-based land line phones programmed to make voter calls. Every Obama office has an “I Support the President Because…” wall, covered with earnest paeans to Obamacare and the like.
