Congratulations, Kreen – you thought you’d never got to the first place podium, and now you look very comfortable up there!
Thank you O67!!! Can u believe twice on the same day?! I like this spot
.
Don’t get too comfortable…
Kreen ur on a roll. Top 10 anyway!
Yardam yessss!!!! I could get used to this! Lollll
Be careful in this rarefied air, and watch out for vc.
I am fired up today!!!! Another glamorous pic of my favorite first couple please Chips! Hihihihihih
Was planning on going out for lunch today at work, got a free lunch instead…so i took the $10 i would have spent and sent it to PBO instead! we can do this! 4 more for 44
Awesome Kyle. Now that I have paid my monthly bills, I am looking at how much I can chip in in these last few days too! Every little bit counts!
The campaign is doing their final budget planning tomorrow, I believe, so if you’re going to donate – do it today so they can factor that into their plans!
OMG. Leaving at 2:30 to canvass in Wisconsin for the next 2 days for our 2 guys. That video is terrifying Chipsticks but thank you for terrifying me.
You’re on the case! Just posted this in last thread…
Stream is up for Bill Clinton in Florida – http://www.cnn.com/video/flashLive/live.html?stream=1
Just back from lunch and walking across the University of Iowa campus, past the Students For Romney table. For some reason they were really irking me today, as they danced around waving at cars and cheering loudly whenever one of them honked. I was annoyed that these students are treating this election like some football game – “our” guy vs “the other”. Of course, this is a very Democratic community and we went 70% for PBO in 2008, so I know they have little chance of really converting anyone. They certainly didn’t try to talk to me, a middle-aged female!
I just want them to understand why this election is so important. And I just want it to be OVER. 4 more days for 4 more years!
All my friends in Canada wish they could come down here and vote for PBO. A future with Willard should never happen!
I am one of those bayoo.
And this video is terribly frightening!
Don’t let this happen America! Your neighbours to the North are counting on you!
Saying that, I am very confident that the majority of Americans understand who they need to have in the Whitehouse.
GOOO USA!!!
Americans will not! We’re not all ignorant.
My husband and I are both dual citizens. Our votes for PBO went into the mail a couple of weeks ago. I’ve talked to lots of people about the election and every one of them loves President Obama. (They say theings like “PLEASE tell me there’s no chance of that Romney person actually winning.” I comfort them with the sure and certain knowledge that PBO will be back for 4 more years.)
I’m just Canadian, but I can not wait till I can get my American Citizenship.
The video is terrifying because those are really Romney’s plans. *Shudders*
My heart’s not growing faint, Mr. President!

Hello TOD – for all those who argue that Gov. Romney has a better chance “to get the big things done”, let’s remember just what those “big things” are: the total destruction of America’s middle class, denying health care to millions of Americans, condemning seniors to uncertainty and predictable hardship, doubling down on climate change denial and giving preferential treatment to Big Oil, unraveling all regulations protecting our environment and reigning in the excesses of Wall Street, taking women back more than 50 years, etc. Are those the “big things” that the voters want?
Hey….whatever gets them through election day.
OMG! The poor guy, Clinton is losing his voice.
Notice that PBO and Big Dog are losing their voices – but Willard isn’t? That’s because he’s not doing SHIT. His crowds are small so he doesn’t need to speak in a loud voice. And he is not doing half as many rallies as the DEMS.
Yes, for sure hope fruit. I certainly have noticed that. The support and the hard work on the Obama campaign shines through and through!
Excellent.
Good news. We will not be intimidated!
Bravo. On the case.
One more for the good guy! Awesome…I wonder how many others feel the same way as this lady…
I have to add a personal story to this….My grandfather always held his vote sacred…so much so, that when it was time to vote he would hound my very meek and mild grandmother(who never even got her drivers license) with “who are you voting for, because if you don’t vote for who I am voting for then you cancel my vote.” He would constantly hound her prior to election day about this, and she would simply say that it was her vote to make, and she wasn’t sure who she would decide on.
With that we would ask her…Grandma, so who did you vote for to which she always replied, “its my personal choice and I’m not going to say” and she always said this with a big smile on her face. It was the one thing that she felt as a woman that nobody was going to control. It was her right, and she had the right to privacy when she went into that voting booth with who she chose.
It sent my grandfather up the wall at every election time. LOL
Heads Up: http://theobamadiary.com/2012/11/02/heads-up-president-obama-in-lima-ohio/
Hi y’all! I cannot even get onto the Lima, Ohio thread with you guys, it is just too bulky and jumpy. Any chance some of you want to come back over here to chat? Only 42 comments on this one! {{{{{Chipswhereareyou?}}}}}
Oh well, goodnight all! Will try in the morrow! {{{{Chipsticks}}}} {{{{TOD}}}}

Drat! I was rushing over here to type
FIRST! Na-nanna-na-ns! AND Pamela got here before me! Congrats on first, Pamela, even though the loneliness took ahold of you, and carried you off to bed.
First is first, even when it’s 42nd, and one begs and pleads in the silence of the Internet!
Morning love! Sorry you had to leave before reinforcement arrived. I was too slow.
Hello…anyone home?
Yes, I’m here, waiting for the others to get the message. Welcome!
That other thread is too full, so it’s dancing around when I try to respond. Can’t imagine what’s taking the others so long to see my message.
So, all the gals here ? Cool.
Not all, the message hasn’t spread yet. You have a bullhorn to yell out their names?
And thereby sully my good name ? not.gonna.happen.
Your ‘good’ name? Amk, this is VC in case you’ve gotten confused.
Tried that
You were too gentle and soft spoken. Next time, just tap Amk on the shoulder and give him the job.
AlmaB, you still here? What’s been happening in your state?
I guess west coast and night workers are still up. You may have to shout a little louder.
AB, it’s hard for me to get back on the thread to wave madly at them because my screen does the boogie-woogie every time I access the very long thread. I’m going to go for a wee bit to see if anyone is on twitter. Be right back
If i was at home it would take ages too. Glad to have some company. Used to sit here at night for hours, rereading threads and watching the videos.
hey guys, I live in Canada. Most of my relatives live in the US. The Florida family is confident of landslide victory. NY and NJ …well no contest. We are hoping and praying here at home. I have not met one Canadian who likes Romney.
Another Canadian who doesn’t like to sleep, or are you on the west coast?
Me and the night security are Obamaphiles. We can’t wait to have a chat on his night rounds, reviewing the latest news. He gets his on another site. we compare notes.
Ah! You are working…well
Night nurse…sitting here waiting for babies to make up their minds about turning up in this crazy world.
undecided babies, huh? /smh.
The ‘smart’ ones are waiting to make sure Mitt isn’t going to be their president. You watch, there will be a rush of births on the 7th when they know for sure it’s PBO.
I genuinely lol’ed. Good one.
Good one, VC! Babies born Nov.7th, after PBO has been re-elected, will occupy a special place in my heart.
I’ve seen the pics of him with babies. I would wait too!
My only offspring was so decided he checked out, and in, at 26+ weeks! Wish he had had a little of the patience of your patients, AB.
What happened? NICU is my specialty. Saw a lot of those little ones.
875grams. 3 months in NICU. Heart surgery to close PDA. Great familiarity between the nurses and I. In 2 words = a miracle!
Morning, AlmaB! You still with us, or are you wrapping up for the morning crew?
No still here. I know that your baby was indeed a miracle. That doesn’t happen often. Great team and your baby had a great desire to make it. Stories like yours always help me to sustain my faith in the power of prayer.
How awesome is THIS????
That is totally neighbourly and just the way it should work in times of crisis! I like that. Hello, Tally.
Looks like nate silver is sticking the shiv and turning it exquisitely.
@ 9.10pm. He had the kenyan muslin usurper with 303.7 with his at 81.4%.
Now, barely after 5 hours, it’s 305.3 and 83.7%.
That’s right, come to papa’s 343, nate.
What will happen to your bet if it stops at 342 – did you add in a give or take margin? BTW did anyone one engage in the bet? I’m been in and out so frequently the last couple of days that I no longer know EVERYTHING that goes on in the village.
I inveigled lisalovesobama into betting 20 bucks on FL going our way with 2 points.
Oh oh! Not LisaLoves! She is supposed to be the one praying for you. Grandmother was right as usual; it’s so much easier for the ‘sinner’ to pull you down than for you to pull him/her out of the miry clay (or swamp?).
A drunk that smelled like a brewery got on a bus one day. He sat down next to a priest. The drunk’s shirt was stained, his face was full of bright red lipstick and he had a half-empty bottle of wine sticking out of his pocket. He opened his newspaper and started reading. A couple minutes later, he asked the priest, “Father, what causes arthritis?”
“Mister, it’s caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too much alcohol, and contempt for your fellow man,” the priest replied.
“Imagine that,” the drunk muttered. He returned to reading his paper.
The priest, thinking about what he had said, turned to the man and apologized: “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to come on so strong. How long have you had arthritis?”
“I don’t have arthritis, Father,” the drunk said, “but I just read in the paper that the Pope does.”
I anticipated it was going to be the priest who had a touch of it. Oh well. Close.
I am predicting 348 EVs and 52% of the popular votes for our Great President. There is no doubt in my mind that voters in the eastern states, severely impacted by the storm, will not turn out in record numbers. If this occurs, the votes for the President will go down drastically compared to 2008 elections.
Somebody pls explain to me why Romney was so overdressed today? Did he think he was going to a board meeting with his rich friends?
Why are you picking on Willard? He only wanted to look presidential.
Don’t forget too, that Willard was probably quite comfortable in his ‘formal attire. By the way, I didn’t see him myself so I’m just conversing.
Go to sleep, vc. You have had an “eventful” day.
I really want to, my eyes are closing down, but I’m trying t o get as close to morning as possible before succumbing.
He was trying to send a message of hope but only ended up sending a message of ‘dope’.
Here is what I am looking forward to on Nov. 6th: By 8:30-9:00 PM EST, the media would have called DC, MD, NC, VA and FL, along with all of New England states (MA, ME, NH, VT, CT), and the Mid Atlantic states (NY, NJ, DE, PA) for President Obama. The next call will be about 9:30-10:00 PM EST when the Mid-Western states of OH, WI MI, IL, IA, and MN, (and NE’s 2) will all be called for the President. By 10:30-11:00 PM EST, CO and NM will be called for the President. Finally, at 11:30PM EST, (8:30 PM PST) the Western states of NV, WA, OR and my CA will all be called for the President. For us in the west we will have time to celebrate and still go to bed at a decent hour in order to be able to go work the next day. Luckily for me, I have a day off for Wed. the 7th. I don’t know how the people in the East and the Mid-West will handle this when they have to wait on us in the West to deliver victory for the President. There is no way I would be able to go to work if I had to wait until mid-night to know that our beloved President had been re-elected. It’s usually after the announcement of the Presidential winner that the real crazy celebration begins.
Any way, It’s this scenario of how I think the votes will unfold that forms the basis of my prediction that President Obama will win 348 Electoral Votes. As for the popular vote, It’s so had to predict given the devastation that Sandy has caused in predominantly Democratic strongholds in North Eastern and Mid-Atlantic states. I still think the President will win the majority of the popular votes. Other than Texas, Romney is not slated to win any other state with a large population. Contrary to the manipulated polls, I think the President will win Florida , North Carolina and Virginia. Add that to the wins in CA, NY, PA, IL, OH, MI, NJ, MA, WI, MD, MN, CT, IA, etc. I just don’t see how Romney can win the popular vote. Remember Al Gore won big in CA, NY, IL, PA, NJ, though he lost OH, FL, VA and NC.
I will be up all night on 6th.
Goes without saying. Your party chair is already reserved. It’s the one with the pre-
nuptialpartying contract for alcohol consumption turned face up on the seat.! would love to see President Obama shaking Mitch’s hand after election and asking him : “Mitch, who is your Daddy?”
Have you given up sleeping until after the election amk? I really like that tweet – pitch perfect.
I catch my forty in bits and pieces whenever and wherever I want. And I will have my noon siesta as much as possible. Feel fresh after my lil naps. Never was a long sleeper. wifey unit’s pet peeve.
aloha tods
anybody still up?
sam wang of pec says the liklihood of robmey winning the popular vote is 6%, or odds of 16 to 1 against it. also:
‘President Obama is peeling away. As you can see from the electoral vote (EV) estimator, he is the candidate with the momentum, not Romney. In terms of EV or the Meta-margin, he’s made up just about half the ground he ceded to Romney after Debate #1. And the indicators are still headed straight up.’
there’s a nice chart showing the ‘straight up’ trend line. also, sam says:
‘A few days ago, the word was that Team Romney was buying ads in Minnesota and Pennsylvania. If he wins either of those states I will eat a bug. Ohio…a really big bug. And yes, I will post a photo.’
bottom line prediction: obama 319 ev, robmey 219 ev.
(sorry–linky not cooperating)
The fucking liars till the last minute
Hi, Amk. Give them benefit of the doubt, maybe the detectors missed the ones in Mitt’s pockets and AnnD’s purse.
Morning guys! I’m up again. What have I missed?
I notice in passing that the mayoress is still tied up in meetings! Hmmmmm. Sure hope she isn’t in a hostage situation.
Jeebuz, woman. Did ya sleep at all, vc? Heck, even I had my everyday noon siesta. Go to bed now. It’s fricking weekend after all. If anything earth shaking happens, we will give a holler.
I slept a bit, though my eyes are feeling quite heavy from lack of sleep, I’m sure. I suspect I’ll be going back to bed shortly in a darkened room (can’t sleep in daylight normally). We’ll see.
Sliding through the last thread, I spot a lot of potential-looking goodies BUT can’t get to watch or read because the thread is still dancing around like crazy. Hope it settles down later in the day.
Chips Chica is on my mind of course, but I’m not as worried as the very first time she was unavoidably delayed. I was all for sending out the Canadian RCMP because not knowing gave rise to all sorts of dangerous scenarios. This time, I’m trusting that all is well and that maybe OUR energizer bunny just needed to SLEEP for a good long stretch to rejuvenate her body, mind, spirit, AND set her up for the grueling days ahead.
So you waste the entire night and then grumble about the sunlight affecting your sleep ? / smh
It’s the weekend. Everyone should sleep in. So I will not be banging on her door.
Go to bed. Now.
I can’t go to bed, I have to go to work!
Don’t worry, Pamela, a certain person just likes to pick on me, by deliberately misunderestimating my comments.
It’s how he shows his love, like the little boy in early school who pulls your braid because he likes you. [Now that scenario is a fallacy perpetuated by writers IMO. No little boys pulled MY braids - not that I had any pull-able braids, come to think of it - or bothered me at all. And, no guys, it couldn't have been because I was unlovable even then, because I would have remembered.
]
BTW, Amk, I am taking it easy lazing around, hoping I will fall asleep at least for a bit. We shall see what we shall see.
While you slept….delivered a baby, transferred a patient. Lucky you. I am going home to bed. have a great day!
Good morning, TOD family. I got through that loooooooooonnnnnnnnngggggg thread, then came here. Anyone else worried about Chips?????
I won’t be around this morning as I am going to poll watcher training.
Friends for dinner tonight (Republicans).
That will teach the damn media a lesson!
G’day, y’all… Did anyone think to leave a trail of cheesy puffs so Chipsiticks can find us? I really do hope she is okay, it is not right for her to go away from us for so long, we call it AWOL when Yardarm does it, and er, what DO we call it when amk does it?
Actually, guys, she DID leave a hint: three threads in a row with only a few dozen comments, she knew you were going to need a safe place to party on the Friday night before the election! (ps: took you long enough to clue in!)
That previous thread is crazy long!!!
Good Morning TOD. It’s 3 days to victory. Big volunteer day today. Supporters are coming ut in droves to early vote, volunteer and donate. We ending this campaign on a HIGH!!
It’s a thing of beauty.
