After living through women’s suffrage, Jim Crow and dozens of presidencies, a 99-year-old Florida woman cast her first-ever ballot last week, and she voted for President Barack Obama.
“I said I’m going to vote if the Lord spares my life this time,” Rosie Lewis told NBC affiliate WBBH-TV in Fort Meyers. “I made up my mind to vote.”
Lewis said that she’s been inspired by how the president has motivated her family to become active in the political process. “I love Obama,” she said.
A family friend said she turned in Lewis’s mail ballot last week.

It actually started in ’07 when Senator Obama declared his intention to run for the Presidency. I’d known of him before then when he ran here in Illinois for Congress and lost, then for State Senator. I have always pulled for him even for his initial toe dip into politics. So now, here he is making his last rounds of campaigns speeches. I feel like I know him personally. Illinois has produced two of the best Presidents to serve this nation.
My countdown political take for today is the second to the last one. It’s merely to say that it’s time for the big payoff and I can’t wait. It feels like waiting for Xmas as a child. You knew you were good, so you knew Santa was going to bring something. The anticipation was in waiting to see just what and just how much you’d have waiting under the tree. So ho, ho, ho, let’s go!!!!

Ok, now I really believer that Romney camp is desperate. They won’t even let their guy rest??? Methinks he will lose Penn and Ohio. Plus isn’t Cleveland a Dem stronghold? I’m guessing he’s gonna try to keep Obama voters totals low? To finish our win in Ohio we will run up the numbers in Dems strongholds like Cleveland I believe.

We do need good turnout from Philly and other Dem strongholds, though. Sometimes they under-perform but they CANNOT do that this time. We need every single solitary vote. We have to show that we CAN fight, we won’t be intimidated and we can overcome their dirty, secret money with real, live voters.

After keeping Sarah Palin as far away from their campaign as possible, and even going so far as to bar her from the national convention (Even though she was last year’s VP!), now the Romney campaign has decided that they have nothing to lose by bringing in the most polarizing political figure in the country.
