Michelle summed it up when she said, “…if he was able to serve”

    • November 6, 2012 at 12:01 am

Not entitled, not “It’s our turn”, but true leadership, which shows itself as service to the people. He is a true man of the people, intent on showing us our power. I felt like he was trying to say it all, one last time. I know he will give many more speeches, but this was laying his heart bare; he had an urgency to make sure we understand.

I was crying like a baby. I love this man and his family so much it actually hurts! Fired up, ready to go!! And he did the podium slap. He even wiped away a tear. Damn, I want him to be POTUS forever! And that Michelle – she could be elected to anything! Hugs to all the TODers, I don’t post much, but you have inspired me SO much. I can never thank Chips – and all of you enough! #FIRED UP #READYTOGO!

Just beautiful all around. All that’s left to do is to go out and vote for him tomorrow. We need 4 more years of this wonderful and exemplary leadership. He is bar none one of e best leaders this country and the world’s ever had!

PBO true example of a public servant. everything he has done was because it was good policy, good for the people of America, not necessarily because it was good politics.

I’m done with Rachel. She had her chance. She is smart but at times she is too smart for her own good and defeats that which she supposedly is fighting for in American policy. Can’t she at least give the Presidents one entire election eve prop for all his has done?

I just got an email about my monthly donation to OFA about changing it to Obama Victory Fund, a combo of OFA, Democratic National Party, and state Democratic Parties. I guess this is because OFA will be shutting down? Will we ever see another election like this in our lifetimes?

Nope – THE election of my lifetime and I’m 62!! My grandson called me (rare, damn texting) – he was born when I was 35 – yikes! to reassure me and said he couldn’t wait to vote! Yep, raised him right! Hugs to all. Don’t drink but I’m getting that damn bottle of apple cider chilled and ready to go!

We watched this great man in silence and awe tonight. We have been passionately for him since the 2004 Democratic convention. We have watched and voted and given and worked for him, and understand that he is trying to teach us all to become better citizens, to not let the 1% steal our country, and that we must work to do this. He is a gift to us and to the world. I absolutely adore him and Michelle.

Chips, thank you, thank you, thank you. You and this site mean so much to me. I, like you have been in tears through most of his speech. Tears of love and gratitude for such an awesome President, tears of happiness that we are (God willing) on the verge of re electing such a great man and tears of sadness that this is his last ever campaign speech and when I saw the tears on Barack’s face I just completely lost it! Words can not express the love and admiration I have for him and his family.

Nate Silver and Colbert just made mincemeat of our punditocracy, our “news” infotainers, got Joe Scar in particular, which was especially delicious. Colbert showed clips of all of them calling this election “razor thin”, and Nate basically scoffed at their predictions coming from their gut—- his are coming from the math. Sure hope he’s accurate again this time.

thanks dotster – the internets don’t let me watch Colbert in my world – but it will eventually get to youtube – week or two later
Joe Scar spent today promoting Romney – well he can do that 1 more time – EVER – and then watch his face fall on the ground – and he’ll be growing a mustache – cause PBO is winning Florida and South Carolina

When you cry, you normally produce tears from both eyes. I’m sorry but I think the cold in the air and perhaps the wind captured his left eye. Just my observation.

      • November 6, 2012 at 12:29 am

You’re kidding, right? Did you see the speech. Honestly, this sound like the stuff you hear over at redstate.

Yes, I did see the speech, every moment on my 54 inch television screen, high definition. Sorry, it was just my observation and didn’t mean to upset you.

        • 96 Joy
          November 6, 2012 at 12:48 am

Ok, I Understand, I guess the reason I felt this in viewing his speech is because I have sensitive eyes to the wind and the sun, I normally leak tears from the outer side of my eyes under weather condition. And when I cry they come from my tear ducts, inner eye.

          • 97 lisalovesobama
            November 6, 2012 at 12:57 am

That makes sense. The evening before I defended by case, I started to feel sad, even though I was telling mysel it would be okay if I didn’t pass my committee. Then I realized there was something wet on one of my cheeks ant the more I wiped it away, the more it came. A lone tear streaming down my face. Then I stopped trying to get rid of them and burst into actual tears. I’m glad I had my breakdown because the next day I passed! ;)

      • 98 theo67
        November 6, 2012 at 12:48 am

You needed to see his face, and how he had to gather himself up to utter the “thank you” statement. This tear had nothing to do with the cold – it was pure emotion.

          November 6, 2012 at 12:55 am

              November 6, 2012 at 1:05 am

Yes, people are sensitive. I do understand that. I understand that people wanted to see him cry.

              • 102 theo67
                November 6, 2012 at 1:10 am

I don’t think it’s that people wanted to “see him cry”. It’s that there is a lot of emotion associated with the last campaign event for someone who is such a dedicated public servant. He gave up a lucrative career in order to serve the people, and this was his very last campaign – ever. It was emotional. And to see him acknowledging this – and to see him emotional about it – was touching. You may want to step away from this topic at this point.

          November 6, 2012 at 1:20 am

I agree theo67, it was pure emotion, because if it was the cold/wind, his eye/eyes would have continued to run the entire speech…he eas able to collect himself so that he could continue with his speech.

        November 6, 2012 at 1:00 am

His grandmother (toots) had passed away the day before that.
She had already cast an absentee early vote for him but never got to see him officially win it.

I think that might have had something to do with the actual tears he had that day.
He actually mentioned her in that speech
