Love ya all, you’re inspirational people who have put your hearts and souls in to this campaign, in any way you could.
See you in the morning – I’ll have photos & other bits ‘n’ pieces then. It’ll be a quiet day, so there’ll be lots of spare time

PS I know not everyone here is a Rachel admirer, but this is a must-see:

Hi and Goodnight
Good night all!
Good night
So… How many are expecting one side to get a 500+ electoral vote total, tomorrow? (Without tipping your hand on who you support, or how passionately, of course.)
How are we supposed to sleep? HOW?!?!
I hear you. I’m so wired right now.
I call President Obama my rock and my flame. It’s not possible for me to love him any more than I do. I have never felt this way about a politician in my life. I have a strong connection with him because I know he cares about me. How lucky are we to be living in the age of Obama. He is a remarkable human being. He’s just good inside.
We have to be prepared for tomorrow. Get at least five hours tonight. Tomorrow, we stay up all night!
We’ll sleep Thursday night, very soundly, ut … until then – THIS IS HISTORY in the making folks, of profound implications … let it seep into every fiber of your being and cherish it with every synapse in your brain ….

love you chips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good night ship mates.
President Obama crushes Romney in Hart’s Location, New Hampshire
23 to 9
Dixville Notch tie 5-5
10 voters 2 D, 3 R, 5 independents…..
I’m so tired but I can’t sleep!….
Hart’s Location, N.H. reports results of its traditional midnight vote. The tiny hamlet went for Obama big. Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson siphoned off 2 votes:
2008 results:
17 Obama
10 McCain
2 Other
2012 results:
23 Obama
9 Romney
2 Gary Johnson
The landslide has begun.
Good news for John McCain – he did better than Romney
Thanks for posting this Christi. I had totally forgotten about the votes from Hart. This is a great start for PBO.
Woot, woot.
(You’re not pulling my legs, christi, right ? Linky please)
My sister called me tonight (east coast for her) to tell me about this vote. Now, the downstream numbers are a little sobering for the tea party candidate and the right wing senate candidate – if I recall correctly – but the first bell has definitely rung for Romney on this one.
the 5:5 in Dixville Notch – Romney got less than McCain – the number voting is way down because the hotel – main employer is closed.
Hart’s location – PBO did better than 2008, and Romney again got less than McCain – so where is the bell for Romney??
The bell of doom. The bell tolls for Romney, and Hart was the first toll.
Oh – sorry I misread all that – indeed it was
This one from huff – it’s all over twitter – but google doesn’t seem to link to any MSM details – maybe they prefer the 5:5
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/06/harts-location-election-results-2012_n_2080800.html
Thank you so much, 99ts. An auspicious start indeed.
Love you Bobfr – not as much as I love President Barack Obama – but you are in the list
Thank you friend!!!
There were many less voters in Dixville Notch this election. According to a comment on huffpo (I can’t find another source at the minute)
“For those of you who are wondering why the number of voters is less than half of the voters in 2008, Dixville Notch is home the the Balsams Grand Hotel. Most of the residents of Dixville Notch work for the hotel. The Balsams is currently closed for renovations.”
2008 PBO won 15:6 so McCain beat Romney in that one – also too
This seems to be a confirmation
“Forcing a change to the tradition, The Balsams is currently closed. Its new owners are laying the groundwork for $25 million dollars in renovations. The work means there will be no voting at the site. Instead, for the night, the golf resort is opening up, and so is a closed ski lodge it owns down the road.”

A picture of the tear on President Obama’s cheek at his last rally: http://twitter.yfrog.com/9fyft6j
I felt the same way when I saw the California coast when coming from Vietnam. Very powerful emotion that.
{{{Yardarm}}}
Good morning 9t9. Either you’re up early or been up all night I just hit the deck. Haven’t even had my java yet but I wired!
Even Ben Stiller’s fired up!
Yeah!!
I am honored tonight to see that tear roll gently down the eyes of my president , a man who has given me
so much of himself in the long road to make this journey for all of us.
I am honored tonight to feel the joy and the pain that must be a part of this great human being in our world who daily carries the burdens of the world in his heart, his mind, and his heart.
I am honored tonight to know that our president is not fearful to shed a tear for all the world to see, especially me.
I am honored tonight to see that such a brilliant president can still feel good about himself that he can share his tear with the entire world and still hold his head up high with grace.
I am honored tonight to see a man of trust, humbleness, brilliance of mind. and a loving and caring heart shed a sweet picture of what is within his soul.
I am honored tonight to be so blessed along with millions of people all over this globe to be invited into his space to share a part of his life that has touched all of our lives.
I am honored tonight dear God by another loving touch of Your mercy in one of your beautiful instr
uments of love, peace, grace, hope, and compassion, our beloved President.
I am honored, Mr. President to be able to call you, Mr. President.
I am honored tonight to witness that warm tear of love and thanksgiving for the people of this country.
We thank you for expressing your gratefulness through that flowing Tear, Mr. President.
It spoke volumes to the world about your character as a loving and gentle spirit standing amongst all of us. Thank you, Mr. President.HZ
How beautiful HZ. Your thoughts and words echo so much of what we all feel, even those of us who are not Americans.
Beautiful poetry, HZ. Thank you!
Beautiful HZ, simply beautiful.
Please send it to the President!
Maybe this will reach them, as well …
#FORWARD
HZ, that is so beautiful. Thanks so much for taking the time to write it and more importantly, share it.
HZ, Thanks for your wonderful words! I am an old man, yet I couldn’t help the tears listening to the President and reading your beautiful words. One thing I will forever be eternally grateful to Chipsticks is the fact that she assembled such great souls like you to this site. Every day I am touched by the humanity of the people who come to TOD to express their support for President Obama. Although I don’t always say so often, I think you are one of the most humane and inspiring people at TOD.
Thank you HZ for showing us what it takes to be a loving, committed, and conscious human being.
THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS! THIS!
That is so beautiful HZ, your words are always so inspiring. Thank you Chips for this amazing site, May God bless you and all of TODville and May God shower his blessings on our dear President Obama and his family.
i feel so very much the same way …HZ….
Thank you, HZ. What a lovely sentiment to read first thing on Election Day.
Ready To Go!
I love that her grandma is tagging along at her performances. Lovely!
Wow, powerful stuff. When was that?
At his last rally. It was very emotional – last rally of his political career on behalf of himself.
I just watched parts of it, could squeeze it in right before work. Damn, this guy is awesome.
Aaand off I am to mold young minds.
Sounds like you do great work! Make sure you’re back here tomorrow for the celebration.
when will that be in eastern time?
I can be on till about 1 am Eastern (7am here) wednesday morning, because then I got to leave for work, but I´ll be back arooound…7 am-ish eastern.
We’ll be here!
My son was sleeping in my bed as I watched President Obama’s final campaign speech, I’m so emotional right now. Words can’t explain my love for this man, in my mind I’m trying to figure out how many more times do I get to see him, to hear him, how many more times do we get to appreciate him before he leaves the world stage. I’m crying as I type, can someone please assure me that everything will be ok once Barack leaves us for the final time.
He’s not leaving for another four years, so you have plenty of more chances to see him, listen to him, watch him work. Don’t worry – we’re all very emotional tonight, because it represents a change. When he wins tomorrow night, he’ll be moving into the last phase of his political career, and the clock will start to wind down for what he can actually accomplish in the chair of the Oval Office. But someone mentioned last week that he’ll have a career on the world stage, because the world will demand it. Now that we’ve seen Barack Obama, we will NOT let him go. We’ll let him rest for a bit in 2017, but we will not let him go.
“We’ll let him rest for a bit in 2017, but we will not let him go.” So beautifully stated, theo67. Thanks so much. You have me crying again. But it is so sweet. Thanks theo67.HZ
He needs time to write memoir of his Presidency.
That would make at least book #2 coming up:
http://www.salon.com/2012/11/02/elie_wiesel_to_write_book_with_barack_obama/
Don – he will be on the world stage like forever. He will travel the world stage – after he makes sure the GOP will never again decimate the USA.
We’ll have four more years of seeing and hearing him every day. And then, after a long deserving vacation, he’ll become the president of the world and go down as one of the greatest men the world has ever seen.
He will never leave the world stage…ever. He is the world stage
To all the “Owls” at TOD,
Great job from all of you over all these years, we are all emotional just like PBO was tonight and tomorrow we get a chance to see him take this country and the world FORWARD for 4 more years!!!
Night All and see you tomorrow night here at TOD to celebrate all the hard work PBO and all of us have done in the last years to help re-elect him
Cheers and A Demain Soir les ami (e) s !!!
Chips I do not know how I could have made it through without you and the TOD family. Thanks so much! This is a kind and decent man. I do like the Rachel segment and Let me Finish. I only wish they had spoken up for Potus all the way! He has done so much and will be remembered for years to come. Good night all. I think we are looking at a lamdslide tomorrow!FORWARD~~~
Chips, have I told you lately that I love you. Actually, I love you madly with sprinkles and a cherry on top. Thank you for being you (funny, determined, fierce, passionate, clever, serious, strong, persistent, loving, kind, wonderful, frisky, playful, solid as a rock) for creating this beautiful haven from a hostile world. You make my life better. LH
All of what you said.
Guys, not sure if this has been posted here already but a facebook friend just posted the link so I´m putting it here as well.

Must be the last update – Projection and Now cast are the same
President Obama 92.00% Mitt Romney 8.00%
There are some things lower than Mitt Romney’s tax rate – his chance to move into the white house
LOVE THAT! Totally stole it…
Going to bed, telling myself that I’m actually gonna sleep. Sure.
(((((((((((((((( Good Sleep to you BWD))))))))))))))))HZ
I have the music on. Galway on the flute. This is the only way that I can drift off. See you tomorrow. Please take care. HZ
You too, my love. See you at the party tomorrow.
BWD….I do hope this is the last night we have to deal with this gut twisting, panic that wakes us up in the middle of the night. Waking up with that rapid heart rate has been a curse. I know there is a lot of us out here. All these months, and it now comes down to tomorrow,
Surreal. Looking FORWARD to a good nights sleep…once we get this done!
Rest peacefully, friend, knowing that PBO and the First Lady are snuggled together and that in the morning he’ll be playing BB!!
Life is good!!!
Wasn’t Romney in NH tonight? Didn’t help him much with the early vote – best he go back to Boston tomorrow rather than wander around reminding people why to vote for President Barack Obama.
What an amazing journey it has been. And tomorrow it begins anew!! Better get some rest!
Wow, what an emotional speech. Made it rain on my face a little.
Any stout hearts still out there?
Not sure what a “stout heart” is, but my heart is here!
Thanks, this site always keeps me up during my long night shifts. A stout heart is a strong one. Clearly everyone here has an amazing heart full of love that beats in tune with PBO. Sigh…..wish I could have been in Iowa.
ok – then sign me up as a “stout heart”. I’m so fired up that I can’t sleep, but I haven’t been able to read up on anything today. I wish I could have made it to Chicago tomorrow night. But, we’ll celebrate here!
We sure will. I am so fired up too. I don’t even want to take a break tonight. Today, I could not listen to anymore TV news. My hubby thinks I am coming down with something. The truth is that I can’t imagine a world without this man leading the US for the next four years.
You’re definitely not alone on that sentiment, Almablanca. I’m on the west coast, so it’s still before midnight here. But, at midnight, I’m heading to bed so I can watch the full proceedings tomorrow.
have a great sleep. Come back if you can’t. I want to sleep the day away and wake up in time for polls closing otherwise I’ll be asleep at 10 when they declare for Obama. That will never do. My greatest days, Oct 1992…Toronto Blue Jays win World Series. Nov 2008 …first AA wins presidency. Nothing to top those two events.
I was in Toronto for the Blue Jays win – the streets were filled with people celebrating, and the best part was that the streets were completely clean the next morning. A brilliant night! I was also in Edmonton the day that Los Angeles stole Wayne Gretzky from the Edmonton Oilers – that was not a good day. Get some sleep!
Not a hockey fan but what Gretzky did to elevate hockey around the US was unprecedented. After the currently Hapless leafs won in 1966, I have not enjoyed another game. No sleep tonight. Huffing, puffing mama to be just arrived.
Clearly – you’re doing important work. I’ll sleep for both of us…!
Crying here too, Don. I’m sitting here in Chicago… I JUST heard Marine One fly by, ran out to the porch and saw its blinking red light… our President is home!!! I was waiting up just in case I might hear them. Tears of joy and of emotion about what-if’s.
I know that odds are high that our beloved President will win tonight. I look forward to celebrating along with all of you tomorrow night. Take care.
Awww!
Oh MY!! I can’t imagine hearing, then seeing Marine One fly by!! Knowing what precious cargo in inside. How I wish I was in Chicago.
Where will you be tomorrow night JM? Chicago must be electric!!
What a speech. What a man. What a movement. Blessings to the Obamas, the Bidens, and the country they lead!
FIRED UP! READY TO VOTE!
LOL – but so true
Ok. Just finished watching rachel’s piece. Where were these people on the lefty media all this time ? They could have done so much, instead of playing defense to pox news’ offense. Sigh….
Now lunch. And then PBO marathon.
Amk – I’ve been thinking the same thing since I heard Melissa Harris Perry this weekend asking whether it’s harder to re-elect a black president than it is to elect him in the first place. I was shouting at my TV that it wouldn’t be so hard to re-elect him if the media had been fair in its reporting and educating the public on what he’s done and the consequences of a Romney administration. I don’t understand why they didn’t do this – just as a patriotic act! The media has really done a disservice to this nation – and the world. I just want President Obama to have a second term where he doesn’t have to worry about re-election.
YES…they could of done so much. I will never forget.
No kidding. It has been the most skewed news reporting that I have ever seen in my lifetime but I suppose that many of the news outlets are owned by strong republican forces who have the power to influence what is said and what is printed. Unbelievable how the crap like ‘death panels’ gets into print media. And, it is still being repeated by Romney and no one is calling him on it. Well the American people have the chance to call him on everything tomorrow by voting him into oblivion.
That is exactly what I tweeted her. Made my blood boil. They have a nerve.
Fair weather friends – not so far behind Michael Moore
Bobfr…TOD’s Fighter in Chief! Thank you Bobfr for all you have and continue to do for our President.
Thank you Carla! We are all in this TOGETHER!

No offense meant to my non-American friends, I feel so very very fortunate to be American. What a magnificent POTUS we have.
Oh and a mesage to AMK: We may never have another president as wonderful as PBO. But I like to think a President Malia or Sasha might be even better than this one.
Nope. Sorry.
PBO will always the best. His is an unique story and an unique achievement. No one else can touch him.
End of discussion.
I have to agree.
His story is more common than people think. And there are still many many barriers to cross in this country. PBO is only the beginning.
Nope. He crossed the ultimate barrier and established many firsts in doing so. Everyone else – Take the second place, please.
To be the first (fill in the blank) in America is always a huge deal. We will one day have a AA woman president, an Indian American, Latino, etc. these are all big deals to us.
But none of them can be as inspirational as PBO to the rest of the world. Sorry, I don’t see anyone around the world in his caliber. He will be the gold standard against which the future world leaders, if any of them do emerge, will be compared.
As for woman presidents/prime ministers/premiers, the rest of the world is way ahead of you. At one point or another, the entire asian belt of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have been ruled by capable women.
So agree, amk.
I agree with you uberfemme, PBO and FLOTUS story is more common than people think. Two minorities that perservered to achieve their goals to get a good education, worked hard, achieved the american dream, give back to their communities, etc., Only President Obama reached for the highest goal that NO minority could ever think of. This brilliant man with the odd name and unusual background dared to run for the highest office against unsurmountable odds is what is so unusual. Most men could not handle the pressure, the scutiny, the intrusion into their lives. This man stood and took it…just like Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Jackie Robinson, Hank Aaron, and so many before him who helped pave the way for Barack Hussein Obama to become President of the United States and Michelle Obama, the First Lady of the United States. I am so thankful that I got a chance to see his FIRST four years and looking forward to his SECOND four years to finish the work they started and usher in a new generation of leaders.
President Obama truly is a world leader – that’s why so many of us around the world are solidly behind him. He may be American, but he’s a global citizen, and we are lucky to have him.
Speaking as a non-american – you are all very much allowed to be proud and fortunate to have such a man. In my world there was little respect left for the USA after Ronald Reagan & the Bushes – the few years of Bill Clinton didn’t help alot because the drama the GOP put him through made the country seem seriously deranged.
President Obama has risen above the RWNJs and with his continued leadership they will diminish in number and stop the world thinking they are representative of the country. I often wondered what might have been if President Kennedy had served his two terms – I believe PBO will reach heights that even Kennedy would have found difficult.
There are 2 shows on our TV this evening about the election – one, at least, appears to be from the right wing perspective – so I will save my sanity and not watch either. I see/read all the news right here.
Okay … who wants to keep me company tonight because I doubt I’ll be getting much sleep!
I’ll be here, drunken irishman. My kinda guy, drunk and irish.
History, friends — soak it in. Feel it. Taste it. Know it. These are monumental seconds and minutes for humanity – no joke.
Lots of us still around. I’ll be back, checking in, as long as I don’t have any babies coming.
Bet some of the babies that have the temerity to come out today will be named Barack.
I am here too as it is not yet midnight.
Woohoo! Let’s crack open the alcohol!
Ok, show us whatchugot. I got a glass of south african merlot to start with.
I have a “Gnarly Head” Pinot Grigio as am out of red wine (hanging head).
Heh, alcohol in any form is fine. You know what they say.
Whiskey with water gets one drunk.
Brandy with water gets one drunk.
Rum with water gets one drunk.
Gin with water gets one drunk.
So apparently, it’s the water that is the culprit.
Great joke,
I have whiskey and Jager.
Merlot is fini..
After my siesta, will be G&T session.
Give me an hour or two.
haha I WANT TO BE TIRED! I AM NOT TIRED!
Ok guyz. You got to see this.
In my 50 odd years (ok, ok, 53 years… sheesh), I have seen the indian media show so much interest in ‘murkan elections only in 2008 and 2012.
I blame that kenyan, muslin, socialist, capitalist, communist, usurper.
You know you’re not allowed to do the “50-ish” nonsense while some parts of the world (i.e. West coast North America) are still celebrating your birthday for another five minutes, right? Sheesh!
Anything to partay ? I am all in.
You are a spring chicken compared to this old 57yr white female schoolmarm

.
http://election.princeton.edu/2012/11/06/presidential-final-prediction-2012-election-eve-final/
That’s what I am talking about baybee.
I would add North Carolina – and I don’t think Arizona is too far away – would love Flake to lose. I’m looking forward to Morning Joe having to grow a mustache while David Alexrod has his firmly in place.
Thanks 99ts! Finally a kindred soul. Looking at NC’s early votes convinces me that NC will once again be in the President’s corner. And, the Latino/Hispanic enthusiasm in AZ has me very hopeful that AZ may be the 2012 surprise; just as Indiana was in 2008. The polls in NE are also encouraging and the President is likely to win one electoral vote from Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional district. I may be wrong but I am still betting on 347-348EVs for the President.
II agree with you on the NC early vote – I can’t see a gop win come out of that, yet the pollsters still have mitt a touch in front
63% of total 2008 vote have voted
Dem 47.7
Rep 31.4
none/oth 20.9
white 67.3 black 27.4 other 5.2
Female 55.9, male 43.0 (a couple of unknowns)
No way does Romney have all the none/oth. Only Karl Rove talks that nonsense. Latest polls have PBO and Romney close to even par with independents
The male/female breakdown is so interesting. Do men not have jobs? I would have thought men would be more likely to need to vote early. This breakdown tells me how much women want to vote – and that can only be good news for John McCain – it means the women are taking Mitt Romney down. The anti women legislation in South Carolina will help the President win this.
WOW. Getting awfully close to your prediction, amk.
Yes, come to papa, babies.
I am upping the ante now. 347+ EV and 5+ PV. Come and get me.
it was an eye-opener to realize that Iowa is President Obama and Michelle`s last campaign event. There will be no more campaigning rallies, no more campaign fund raising, and no more money bombs for the campaign. This is it. Wow, what a joyful helluva run. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You President Obama for that Wonderful experience.
Now lets go win this election.
It’s bittersweet, isn’t it ?
It sure is. Amk, I would not trade this moment for nothing in the world.
I can’t sleep. I want this to be over. But I don’t want this to be over. This is my President’s last campaign. I can still feel and hear the sound of him saying, “They said this day would never come…” that night in January in Iowa.
Then there was Election Night in Hyde Park. I was making calls to Alaska on Election Night trying to get out the vote for down ticket races when they told us to hang up and watch the speeches from John McCain and President-elect Barack Obama.
I watched the packed mall on Inauguration Day with my Mom and sister on television and being collectively pissed at Justice Roberts for messing up the oath and trying to ruin history. He failed. I remember feeling the significance of the Cairo Speech and seeing how it would play out in Egypt and Libya later. My President has moved me: Addressing Parliament. The Arizona Speech. Hugging Hillary after healthcare reform passed. Singing Let’s Stay Together.
This man has touched millions of us all over the world by being a mediation on intellect, emotional intelligence, grace, charm, character, charisma and forbearance in the face of intransigence and hate.
This is my President’s last political campaign. It’s overwhelming the movement that he inspired. Politics has not been the same since he revealed that we were not passive spectators at the mercy of Sunday political talk shows and an indifferent political class. He showed us how we could be the change we’ve been looking for. We could call from home and get out the vote or influence legislation. We could raise money to match and exceed millionaires by giving $5 some weeks, a little more the next, a lot more anytime Sarah Palin opened her mouth.
I am going to relish every great speech from him in the next four years, as I relished the last four year. I have a great President and First Lady,.
Today in Iowa was a poignant, and I’m nostalgic, underslept and hopeful on this election eve. The good news is I believe early tomorrow evening, the world will have the assurance that we have them for 4 more years. I am forever grateful and changed having been alive to watch the skinny man with the funny name inspire me and the world. I’m grateful to have a place I can go to where people understand and have the back of this extraordinarily gifted leader.
THIS x1,000,000!!!
Ditto!!
What a perfect post. Beautiful. Thank you..

Great post, firedup.
the world will have the assurance that we have them for 4 more years.
Amen.
Beautiful; exactly the way I feel.
This president is the most transformative (yes, he beats out FDR) in US history. Cannot wait for the next 4 years of his stewardship to begin. Will see everyone later today through the next.
I always love reading your posts, FiredUpinCA. You have an incredible knack for expressing what we all feel. Thank you.
Thank you for this incredible post FiredUp!! Your comment should be front paged.
Yes, my sentiments as well.
Happy sigh. That was delicious, FiredUpinCA
Ok, time for a bit of siesta. (Heh, I am going to be all night. Also. Too. Drunk all night)
margaret and helen have a few more words on the subject of the election:
‘ I suggest we offer immigration reform in the form of a immigration exchange program. If you are caught trying to suppress or otherwise discourage voters, we can deport you in exchange for an immigrant who wouldn’t dream of taking democracy for granted. I mean it. Really. ‘
http://margaretandhelen.com/2012/11/05/vote-early-vote-often-just-to-piss-em-off/
LOL!!! Brilliant!
I couldn’t sleep and watched The Last Word and saw a bit of FLOTUS speech then Chris Matthews came on. I knew it would be posted here so I played it. Tomorrow will either be a joyous or somber day and I am betting on joyous because the President will get re-elected and somber because this is his last four years but not his last campaigning. Remember folks he may still have to deal with the obstuctionist and he will come to us and ask us to call our representatives, he will campaign to get the rest of his policies through congress.
GOTV tomorrow and take someone with you to the polls, stay in line until you cast your vote, and GOD BLESS AMERICA.
Guy says he is “non partisan” arguing with Nate on twitter about Ohio – Brave man or a fool to argue stats with Nate Silver – ok I’ll go with Fool. People from all over the world are twittering their thanks to Nate

I love my TOD family.
Chips you are the BEST!!!
good morning proud! and we are so proud of you, up before dawn, fired up and ready to go! thanks for your work today–you’re the best!
Thinking of you guys and sending prayers and positive vibes that this is in the bag for Our Guys. I have been inspired by your commitment and support of the POTUS/VPOTUS over the years but then again with the policies of this administration; the consistency of a Leader such as PBO, it is unbelievable that anyone would be for the ‘other guy’. As you guys know if it were up to the UK/World alone our guys will go unopposed!
Can’t wait for the ‘egg on your face’ picture that will be the media. I noticed our lot are also joining ‘em re: the election – SMDH.
I’m sleepy but finding it difficult to sleep
. This has been a ride! Looking forward to 4 more years!
Same here. I am going to watch the last rally again and try to get some sleep afterward.
now it’s bedtime for me, but i’ll sleep in peace, knowing it’s all working out just like it should! aloha oe~
Good Early Morning, All: Checking in for now. Today will be a crazy, busy day for us all. What channel are your guys watching for election coverage? I can’t stand Rachel Maddow, even though I read on twitter that her show was awesome last night. A majority of those folks at MSNC – pretend progressives – make me sick. I can’t stand their commercials so I know I wont be going there. Any other channels? Perhaps I should watch FOX for the first time in my household…for ______ and giggles. LOL Gotta get in my AM exercises and get ready for work. Hope to talk to you all through out the day and late tonight for sure!!
It’s either teann (wall to wall) or BBC (cut away for friggin’ news) for me. My teevee remote is gonna beg for mercy and ask for friggin’ death panels in another 12-18 hours.
We love your, Mr. President.
People get ready, there’s a train a comin’
You don’t need no baggage, you just get on board
Good morning Meta and everyone. I can’t sleep.
Great good morning to you, COS. I got a couple of hours of sleep. I’m just too wound up!
I am watching one of the old original “Mission Impossible” shows to try and clear my mind but it isn’t working.
Oh, good try!!
Wish I could go for a walk but it’s just too early to be out on the street. My polling place around the corner will be open in 3 hours and 45 minutes!!
Yeah, Let’s just do that.
Yes, let’sgititdone.
Morning all. Have a great election day everyone. GOTV.
Do it for this guy:
So TOD’ers, you know there is going to be a ton of posts today. What do you think should be the limit of posts per thread today ?
150? 200? 250 ?
My tip – 150 – that’s how much EV’s the tax dodger & draft dodger is gonna get today.
Hey, pops! Looks like you’re talking to yourself……. This isn’t early onset dementia is it?
Ps- $20 was asking about you……
It’s the early G&T talking (after sleeping it off the half a bottle of south african merlot).
And I still have two full bottles of BS on hand. You all have been warned.
You do know that both sam wang and nate silver have now FL trending blue, dontcha ?
You might as well hand over that $20 baybee to me to now before it burns you youknowhere.
Ha! Not until the fat lady sings, baybeeee! Not till then!
Cynic!!! And at such a young age too !!!
When it comes to Florida? Abso-fracken-lutely!!!!
tsk, tsk, tsk.
wimmin/smh
Talk about a fast start, feel like we’re already in the thick of it with the polls opening. Obama #tags trending all over the place. If this momentum keeps up it will indeed be a landslide victory for PBO. I really hope we can make great inroads in Congress and increase Senate majorities. THIS IS INCREDIBLY EXCITING.
Yes, We Will, Oh, Yes We Will, Berny.
I’ve foolishly been listening to the pundits – why do I do this – saying the election wasn’t serious enough – WHO DO THEY THINK MADE IT THIS WAY. It’s all Nate Silver’s fault – we shouldn’t be interested in the numbers – we should care about the people. Poor Nate – he has made the NYT too popular.
NO mention about the love and care that President Barack Obama has for the people – and the hatred of Mitt for the poor and disadvantaged. I spit at the pundits.
And I apologize for this post – I promise to obey Chips rules from now until Romney gives his concession speech – and then I will tell you what I really think of the Pundits.
OT. For the very first time, South Africa issues a 200 Rand currency bearing Nelson Mandela’s pic today.
The first banknotes featuring the face of Nelson Mandela have gone into circulation in South Africa.
They are the first South African notes to bear the image of a black person – they replace notes with wild animals and rural and industrial scenes.
President Jacob Zuma says the banknotes were a “humble gesture” to express South Africa’s “deep gratitude”.
Mr Mandela, 94, is one of the world’s best loved figures after spending 27 years in prison for fighting apartheid.
Reserve Bank governor Jill Marcus was the first to use the new banknotes – she spent 160 rand, about $18 (£12), at her local shop in the capital, Pretoria.
She said that Mr Mandela was delighted with the design.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-20218074
A very good Omen, imo.
Nelson Mandela is a man of amazing courage. Despite the problems in SA in the past 20 years, without Mandela there would have been a bloody massacre and no hope for anyone there. I’ve always found it amazing that the administration through the 60s-80s kept him alive for fear of that massacre – only to discover he was such a man of peace that he did not want to decimate the white population, nor send them into poverty.
Mandela has always been my man of the 20th Century and PBO easily takes the 21st.
I am with you, 99ts. Two graceful souls.
Amen!
I had the absolute honor of meeting Madiba in 1990 when he got out of prison. Sat at the end of his bed in his hotel suite at Copley Plaza, Boston, while he ate breakfast & we chatted. Most fantastic 45 minutes of my life! He is fabulous, gracious! My hero!
Wow, that’s a great honor, xtine. I envy you. I have been trying to meet Mr Mandela during my business visits to SA and never could find that right person to lead me to him.
One of my life’s ambitions – to get Mr Mandela’s autograph and take a picture with him. I understand he is very frail now and does not meet people any more, but still….
Morning TOD. Let’s do it again. Talk to ya later. Be blessed.
Voted!
YAY!!!!!!
Folks, today is not the day to bring in the negativity being spewed by pundits and on twitter. Go vote! Share memories! Celebrate! Just don’t bring crap over.
THIS!!!
The blog tyrant wouldn’t allow it.
Cool. On teann, watching VPOTUS and SLOTUS standing in line to vote in Wilmington, Delaware.
Wonder who they are gonna vote for ?
VP Bide, Dr. Jill Biden and his son Beau Biden are voting right now in Greenville, Delaware. on MSNBC.
Bang, Bang, Bang.
WAKE UP, CHIPS. IT’S D’Day
ferchrissakeferprezsake.Okay people! Lets stay away from the corporate media today. Made the mistake of letting the possibility of seeing the Biden family in line to vote drive me to turn on MSNBFOX.
big mistake even though my boyfriend Gibbs was on. Couldn’t stomach it so turned it off! 4 more for 44!!!!
You can try muting as soon as the commentary starts.
Naw! I got my groove on, no no-count punditry for me today!
Man, I hope PBO sleeps late, eats the biggest breakfast ever, then plays as many rounds of basket ball he wants to! Then I hope he eats whatever he wants for lunch, takes a nap and basks in his victory tonight!
Fired up, #Govote, and #TeamObama, #GoRockTheVote and #HappyElectionDay are all trending on Twitter.
Happy election day TOD! I hardly slept last night.
Intrade

Mornin’ AMK. Intrade is 5 points higher than last night. Yahoo!
GM jackie. Yup, we are gonna win and win big.
I checked the Senate races too and Warren’s chances are at 84%, not so good for Tester (Montana) and my guy Carmona. Hope that’s wrong.
Best way to watch teevee. Mute the fucking bloviators and watch the chyrons (?) at the bottom.
teann chryon – 36 states voting now.
Polls open in Iowa and Wisconsin.
Go IA & WI.
#48 at 7:40. Felt real good
Good morning TOD!
I just voted for the POB. I was on line at 6:10 am. Already a long long line. It is cold but everyone was happy to be there. Lined moving very fast. Seniors on line allowed to come up to the front of the line. I am going to get hot apple cider for those who are too cold. Some one brought a comfortable chair for those who have a difficult time standing. The chair is being passed up and down the line. I feel like it is Thanksgivig, Christmas, 4th of July all rolled up together. I have not been able to sleep for days.
I am going to help make sure Seniors are okay. They are steady coming with walkers, canes, wheel chairs.
It is different from 2008. Faces were jubilant then. Now, it is determination on the faces. One beautiful AA woman said she has been up once 4:00 waiting. She said she should have worn a heavier coat. I offered to give her my scarf. She said, no baby. I will be all right, she just had to get up and vote. She was going to stay on line however long it took. Go back home and make a hot cup of tea and pray, thanking God for our wonderful President. It is so cold in NYC as we brace ourselves for another storm. But all is well because we know that our President cares,
Stay positive! Stay focus! Let’s stay together!
Lovely report. Thanks LDS and very moved by your concern for the elderly.
Beautiful, LDS! Thank you!!!
Thanks so much for that excellent report, LDS!! WTG!!
GM kitty kats. Remember when the tally starts tonight the first numbers/states reported on are largely red states so don’t freak out. Being a foreigner I didn’t know that back in 08 and I almost broke out into a dead faint. Keep pushing and try and persuade as many as you can to vote and to hold the line. Also what AMK said – go IA and WI!
Question : In how many hours from now, can we expect to see to some results ?
No EST, MST crap. Just raw hours, in 10 hours? 12 hours ?
11 hours.
Oh boy. It’s just friggin’ 7 pm here.
Question (yes, another one) : Should I stay stay up bugging you peeps or go get some fucking sleep amk ?
The election won’t be called for 13.5 more hours when the California polls close. Get some rest because hopefully we can be celebrating for a few hours after that!
Sleep if you can, if you get up at 6am you’ll still catch the results! I, on the other hand will be staying up till 5am my time.
amk, now is a good time to sleep. We’ll start seeing returns in about 10 1/2 hours. The day will be spent on reports about lines and silly prognostications from people who get paid to peddle RW smut. So catch some sleep if you can and get back here to all of us to catch up.
So the consensus seems to be ‘stfu amk. We will call you’. Gotcha.
Can I hang around for coupla more hours ?
They go in rounds from the east (starting at 7.00 pm) and then move out toth ewest with results usually coming in every hour thereafter. Last round is at 11.00 pm (California etc) but can go longer if there are states that are too close to call.
12, 121/2 hours.
No – 7pm Eastern is less than 10.5 hours from now.
Sam Wang now has us at 99.2%
http://election.princeton.edu/
And
Bayesian Prediction 100.0, wef that means.
GM jovie. How is FL looking today morning ?
As per http://elections.gmu.edu/early_vote_2012.html as on 11/5.
Total cast 4,469,393 (52.9% of total 2008)
Dem 42.9%
Rep 39.1%
None/Oth 18.0%
That’s 3.8% lead as of y’day.
Your tea leaves today ?
Morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s finally here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like a 4 YO at Christmas right now, I can barely contain myself:) Going to OFA office for most of the day to call and do whatever they need most. Call, data entry…whatever! I will call until my ears bleed and my fingers are raw! Until my voice is gone and I sound sexy! Since sex sells, I will use my feminine wiles to persuade undecideds to go vote for PBO….whatever it takes!
I’ll check in here though:) Taking my laptop with me to make those calls…..and then, I’ll leave early and come home and watch the returns come in…I need to be here with all of you, sharing that time with this family, in the comfort of my home….can’t be at the office for that. I know all of you better than the people that will stream into the OFA office today, looking to help out.
Pace yourselves…going to be a long night! Some bubbly might be in order:)
Joe Biden standing in line to vote

What state should I be calling today that would give PBO the most help? Any suggestions? It can be more than one state…I’m going to be there all day…I’ve been calling Ohio and Nevada these last couple phonebanks….
FL, NC in that order. (Because of EV’s and my 20 bucks
)
Done!
You REALLY want that 20 bucks!
You betcha. Also. Too. I need to redecorate my office and that gold framed 20 bucks will look mighty good.
I agree- FL and possibly OH.
I’ll call all 3 !!!
I was told by OFA last night to call Iowa. Iowa or Wisconsin or Ohio would be my suggestion. Don’t worry about amk $.
heh ???
My list is getting longer:) Will do them all!!!
Interesting. They are either conceding FL and NC, confident they are winning there, or want to make doubly sure its a lock in Iowa and OH.
I am sure it’s the latter – gotta get a lock down on 271 first. They didn’t concede any swing state the entire campaign – kept going at it hard in all of them. #4MoreObama!
One other thing; I am in Chicago so they may have been wanting me to call a neighboring state…not sure on that.
Obama wins! Ct. daughter reports the results of the presidential election at my grandkids’ elementary school: Obama 387, Willard 83. We both agreed that we hope beyond hope that the American electorate is as smart as the students at Duffy School.
oooh, talk about landslide that buries the bot.
Good morning TOD, good morning Ms Chips! Hardly slept last night, will be up all night tonight with all of you… so excited, so thrilled that Nate Silver and Sam Wang are so positive….. great news on Duffy Elementary, dotster…. hopefully the nation will move the same way!
Wow, just wow! I leave for work at 7:15AM. I passed 5 polling locations and all had lines. The polls opened at 7AM. We are in for some ride tonight. TTYL.. Aunt sis
PBO 5 Things You Can Do Today To GOTV!
http://www.barackobama.com/do-something?source=eday_splash
Think this is important—-some people are confused by Silver’s forecast—–90% predicting a win, not a landslide.
A win is fine by me!
Define landslide.
My definition – anything 5+ PV. And it’s happening.
Kids Say The Darnedest Things – And Elect Obama To A Second Term http://p.ost.im/p/dBUTs4 via @AddInfoOrg
Happy Election Day!! woohoo I am so excited, we’re here, This is it. OBAMA! BIDEN! Yes.We.Will. Good morning TOD family
We should send this around….Last reminder of the lying POS as voting happens today
Morning df.
Morning, sailor:) Fired Up??
Ready to go!!!!
TOD peeps. Not sure how I’ll get through this dat. I’m sure many others are like me.
Still emotional from Iowa last night.
Today I’m anxious, energized, terrified, ecstatic…you name it.
No TV for me today. My kids are home from school, so they can play video games all day if they want:) (Another reason for them to love their President!, hahaha) Can’t door hang today, so I’m taking some provisions (snacks) to my local OFA office.
Just wanted to take a moment to thank Chips and all of you for helping me hold it together through the last few weeks.
Today is a B.F.D.
I will meet you all here tonight for a celebratory toast!
Thank you all again. You’re the best!
OBAMA/BIDEN TODAY!!!!!!!!!
..make that get through the DAY…
Deleted above. Fixed it here!
So happy to have voted…for our beloved PBO and VP. They’re predicting low voter turnout (only 55%) in my state. I hope our enthusiasm for PBO (we’re a totally blue state) will blow that prediction out of the water.
Vote on TOD peeps!
what state is that?
Thanks Cluny. It just breaks my heart to know that they worked so hard for years to see that other party scheme, lie and steal to take it all way for their own selfish greed. Some of them have out lived family members and they are all alone. It is not right. It is not fair. I am just so glad that POB knows it is the right thing to do. The pics of the babies and children warms my heart whenever they see POB. But the older men and women just as well. They seem so connected with this man as if he was one of their own. To me that says a lot about a person, his compassion draws you to him and you sense that it is real.
I could not stop crying when POB and FLOTUs embraced each other upon her arrival. My God, they still close their eyes when they hug. You just could feel the energy being transferred. They belonged….I felt that I belonged in their space, but not a privileged, entitled, threatening way. Just belonged to a special, specific moment in time…..this time. I know this will not happen again in my life time. I am going to savor and be grateful for every second.
Vote Ya’ll!
MtMarilyn…if you’re here, you need to read this! Thinking of you:)
