Brings back memories
I just can’t wait. I keep sighing today. I just feel so satisfied and like a weight has been completely lifted. This amazing person and his wonderful family have just shone as the First Family, and they should have immense pride in their performance through these four years. I’m so glad America came through for them last night.
Sooooooooo Satisfied/Ashford and Simpson!!!
You and me both Theo, you and me both…
I am so sleep deprived and exhausted but In the most wonderful way…
But have to ask Theo, how are your 1% friends – the group you hung out with and posted about that almost ruined your weekend – how are they holding up today…
They actually all texted me last night with congratulations and little dancing icons. Every single one of them! It was a great night.
You have my thoughts and feelings exactly theo67. Today I had a feeling of everything being normal-the way it is supposed to be.
True, but I was actually thinking of the shared timing. ;) ;)
This chair is taken!
Merci ‘buckets’, CC! VC
I can’t wait this is going to be awesome I love this family.
Congratulation to my TOD Family from Ireland. I am still recovering from the sleepness nights. God Bless you all. Am I first?
Not quite first, but you’re more than welcome to share. There is plenty of room! :)
Can’t wait to see this! Has anyone seen the Prez today in Chicago?
Hello everyone. How have your day been?
A friend sent me this email.
Dear Red States,
We’re ticked off at your Neanderthal attitudes and politics, and we’ve decided we’re leaving.
“Legitimate rape.” Sheesh!
We in California intend to form our own country and we’re taking the other Blue States with us.
In case you aren’t aware that includes New York, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and the rest of the Northeast.
We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation and especially to the people of the new country of The Enlightened States of America (E.S.A).
To sum up briefly:
You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states. We get stem cell research and the best beaches.
We get openly-gay CA State Assembly Speaker John Perez and Elizabeth Warren. You get Rick Perry and Todd Akin.
We get the Statue of Liberty. You get OpryLand.
We get Intel, Google, Apple and Microsoft. You get Wal-Mart.
We get Harvard. You get Ole’ Miss.
We get 85 percent of America’s venture capital and entrepreneurs. You get Alabama, and oh yeah, Mississippi.
We get the two-thirds of the tax revenue we put into the kitty. You get to make your states pay their fair share.
Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the Christian Coalition’s we get a bunch of happy families. You get a bunch of single moms.
Please be aware that the E.S.A. will be anti-war and we’re going to want all our citizens back from Afghanistan at once.
If you need people to fight, ask your evangelicals. They have kids they’re apparently willing to send to their deaths for no purpose and they don’t care if you don’t show pictures of their children’s caskets coming home.
We wish you success in Afghanistan, and possibly Iran as well, but we’re not willing to spend our resources in these sorts of pursuits.
Since we’re predominantly pro-choice, you can finally undo Roe V Wade and make your women folk happy they can have their rapists’s babies without having to consider aborting the fetus.
With the Blue States in hand we will have firm control of 80 percent of the country’s fresh water, more than 90 percent of the pineapple and lettuce, 92 percent of the nation’s fresh fruit, 95 percent of America’s quality wines (you can serve French wines at state dinners) 90 percent of all cheese, 90 percent of the high tech industry, most of the US low sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and condors, all the Ivy and Seven Sister schools plus Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Cal Tech and MIT.
With the Red States you will have to cope with 88 percent of all obese Americans and their projected (and escalating) health care costs, 92 percent of all US mosquitoes, nearly 100 percent of the tornadoes, 90 percent of the hurricanes, 99 percent of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100 percent of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones University, Clemson and the University of Georgia.
We get Hollywood and Yosemite, thank you.
In Blue States, an emphasis on education overall, and science and math in particular, gives the populace a leg up on critical thinking skills.
You get to teach your kids that Adam and Eve rode dinosaurs and that all they need to know is found in the Holy Bible.
In the Red States, 38 percent believe Jonah was actually swallowed by a whale, 62 percent believe life is sacred unless we’re discussing the death penalty or gun laws, 44 percent say that evolution is only a theory and creationism should be taught on equal footing, 53 percent that Saddam Hussein was involved in 9/11 and 61 percent of you crazy bastards believe you are people with higher morals then we lefties.
We’re taking the good weed too. You can have that crap they grow in Mexico. We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation and especially to the people of the new country of The Enlightened States of America (E.S.A).
Wonderful! I keep saying that Republicans deserve to live under the policies they keep espousing – as long as the rest of us wouldn’t be affected. They’d be broke and hungry and lawless in minutes.
OMG THAT’S GREAT!!! LMGDFAO!!!
Well past time to tell it like it is! :) lunch over, back into the fray!
Hilarious, but I would feel sorry for all the Blacks and Browns stuck in red states. They’d have to leave pronto.
We’ll send ‘em some transport if they want to go.
Is anyone just seeing AF1 and a Black SUV? on CNN with no audio or is it just me?
That’s all I’m seeing UTAL
But there is some movement. I thought it was a still picture, but the guy by the SUV actually moved.
That’s what I’m seeing. I thought maybe I’d missed it, but I guess they are running behind.
wowzers! looks like this site will get 15M hits any day now too. congrats!
Yep, less than 4 weeks after hitting 14 mill. Unbelieveable.
Okay, this is really funny. My husband and I made an agreement that I would not talk politics for awhile after the election. Remember, he is the republican that I love and did vote for PBO in 2008 after joining the Republicans for Obama Group. He wasn’t going to vote this year due to me pretty much driving him nuts with all my PBO obsession. He voted last Friday with an absentee ballot and did vote for PBO, Bill Nelson, and my NEW Rep. Lois Frankel. I picked him up today and just asked him how his day was. I was trying to keep my promise. HE brought up politics 1st. I just kept asking him about work and he kept talking about the election. Remember, I live in Lois Frankel’s district but I work in the district Allen West just lost to Patrick Murphy. I understand Allen West is asking for a recount even though the margin of his loss is outside the number needed for a recount.
Your husband is probably proud of having joined the sane ones, and that he’s not counted among the racist crazies. I believe that the sane GOP will form a new party before 2016 – they have to. They won’t get anywhere with this lying, propaganda-based group that is currently ruling their party.
It is obvious you have a great marriage. Good story.
Would love to watch this, but guys, I´m heading to back.
I have been up since yesterday morning with a two and a half hours nap in between before the results came rolling in…which means 38 hours since i last slept decently :D But it was so worth it…. but now I´m seriously exhausted.
President Obama will be president for another four years. You’ll have plenty more chances to watch him. Go sleep!
Makes sense *drops on the spot*
CNN now calls it for Heidi Heitkamp, senator elect in ND. Senate now complete with 53 Dems + 2 Indies =55 majority.
They need that filibuster reform. I could have sworn I saw a tweet from Harry Reid that they’re going after filibuster reform. The GOP are already playing games – they are not to be trusted, and they haven’t yet realized that President Obama doesn’t have to make any deals with them. He’s perfectly capable of handling the fiscal cliff, and managing the military with a reduced budget. They are the ones who owe their owners their 2% tax cuts. The GOP are in for a world of hurt until they realize that President Obama is 100% unfettered.
I mentioned on another site that PBO doesn’t need to worry as much about how he is perceived now that he doesn’t have to worry about reelection. He can come across as angry, partisan, whatever. The only thing that will place limits is his own personal tendency to try to work things out. But whereas in the past, when he cut the GOP off at the knees he had to be subtle, he can do it far more transparently.
Yup – totally agree. It’s his nature to try to work together, and I think he does believe in a two party government, but he hinted during this campaign that he has no intention of surrendering and compromising key principles. I think the GOP don’t realize that the ground has shifted beneath them. They don’t know that it’s very different to deal with a President who is now counting down the clock and has nothing left to lose, and wants to get stuff done. These next few years should be captivating!
He doesn’t have to run for office anymore so he doesn’t need to compromise on much of anything unless he sees the value of it.
I think the President is not completely unfettered, because he will want to leave in 2016 with good will for whoever the next Dem candidate will be. I think right now, the biggest thing is that exit polls show the clear majority of the country still holds Bush accountable for the mess, and now realizes who the real obstructionists were. The bigger stick, I think, is the 2014 mid-terms. The Reps got away this time running on no accomplishments. Or at least no accomplishments that anyone cares about. Naming post offices doesn’t count. And abortion not an important enough issue for most people, especially if they keep pushing it and not doing anything about jobs. I don’t think they can do that again. If they don’t have something to say about positive accomplishments by 2014 then it will be another wave election. I mentioned my principal before – he’s a moderate center right person who said he couldn’t make anything out of Romney, was scared of Ryan, despised the Tea Party and felt like his party had abandoned him. This morning he said he was RELIEVED at the election result and wished more of the extreme Repubs had lost. So he and many others like him are going to continue to vote Dem if the TPRepubs. don’t shut up. I’m sure that he would grab at the chance to vote for Republicans who had a list of reasonable accomplishments even if, especially if they showed the maturity and intelligence to work to shape reasonable legislation. That would be an easy way for Repubs to ‘expand their base': give their moderates something to come back to. That would probably be a harder election for us, but the consequences of loss wouldn’t seem so dire either.
The Obama family needs to take an extra-long Hawaii break this year. Let the GOP eat their miserable sniping criticizing hearts out.
I agree Vicki.
That is actually a really good idea. Pres could relax and recharge, at least for a week. Every other full-time job gives vacation time of at least 1 week. Come to think of it, who sets the president’s vacay time (apart from problems popping up here and there and the complaining media that is)? Does he have an actual job description with a framework of down time included? Does anyone know offhand so I don’t have to go looking it up? ;)
It doesn’t exist. He’s president 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. If he only dealt with domestic issues, he could probably have a vacation schedule, but anything can happen around the world, and he’s got to be available and ready to deal with it. I just hope he can have a quiet holiday period, with no surprises.
But if nothing IS happening he should be able to get at least 4+ uninterrupted days! Of course in the past 4 years something was always happening so it’s a moot point. ‘Poor’ soul.
Come to think of it the Obamas usually go to Hawaii for Christmas, so hey might just wait till then for a vacation.
can’t wait !!!!
I agree with you 100%! The same is true of the Biden family. They worked so hard for this re-election.
Congrats to @KarlRove on blowing $400 million this cycle. Every race @CrossroadsGPS ran ads in, the Republicans lost. What a waste of money.— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 07, 2012
I thought trump was so busy, such a busy business man, that he wouldn’t have time to be tweeting. I wish he would take $5 million he was offering and get someone to fix him a better looking hair piece.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA……..This FOOL is so screwed in the head.
Wow. That really is him. I thought it was a parody account.
Thank you for your tenacious defense of our President,,,you are truly a jewel….YES!
Thanks prettyfoot58 for your kind words. Yes.We.Can.
The sharp knives are already out! This is the sound of an impending war within the GOP.

I give up on this Jer. Tired of awaiting some action. Think I’d better go cook and check back in for the arrival home.
VC….you have such a wonderful sense of humor that makes just laugh out loud…thank you ever so much…there are times when this is just the what i need!!…
Hi PF58! Court jester, eh? Thank you….. I think.. ;) ;)
Isn’t today such a wonderfully joyful and relaxing day? I can’t remember if this is how I felt after the 2008 win. Probably not, because then I didn’t know Prez O as well as I now do, and I was also nervously willing him to do well and not make any mistakes. Now, as he regularly said while campaigning, ‘You know me.’ This has been a truly peaceful and happy day!
Hello people. What a day it has been. Saw Obama won. Cried, laughed and cried some more. All that hard work paid off. Was up till 4:30 reading all the comments here, could not post because I was just too overwhelmed. Came in to work at 7 and everyone, I mean everyone was visibly exhilarated. Work then got really crazy busy. I was able to distract myself and allow my emotions to subside a little. Now, I can post again. WE DID THIS SHIT!
Oh and I think this should be the new “New Day” song for this election by Will I am. Faster version of the one posted here a few days ago.
Cman – I know what you’re saying. I took today off work because I knew I wouldn’t be able to work (tomorrow, too…). I slept at 1:30 (California time), and then I had to get out of bed at 4am because I couldn’t sleep and felt I was missing out on the celebration. I promised myself I’d take a nap in the afternoon, but I’m still too wired and still not caught up on everything. I’ll sleep tomorrow, I guess…. :) It’s such a good day!
The First Family is running late.

After a nap, I’m energized enough to get through the rest of the day. This is an interesting article from Roger Simon on a discussion last night with PBO’s pollster: “Obama Pollster: Mitt Wasn’t Trusted”

More activity on the live feed…….
Here they come!!!!
First Family has arrived. About to leave Chicago for D.C.
Pete and all his gear.
Dang I missed it! My computer shut down. Video anyone?
OMG Sasha and PBO racing up the stairs! Michelle looked so beautiful.
Sasha’s shoes for the win.
It appears that Malia is now the same height as FLOTUS.
I saw that to Jessica. POTUS was racing up those stairs with Sasha.
That was fast, after such a long wait. Oh well, they look okay. That Sasha footwear was …..something else!
Of course, our friend Mark Knoller had to tweet about the shoes….
Pres Obama and family board Air Force One in Chicago for flight back to DC. Young Sasha wearing brightly colored sneakers.— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) November 07, 2012
Seriously he gets a paycheck for this hard hitting journalism?
Where can we apply for this job? Getting paid 6 or 7 figure salary to tweet about what the President is eating on the trail, how many times he’s flown to a state, what color shoes Sasha is wearing…WOW… a dream job!!!
That would be annoying, if WE hadn’t gotten the big WIN last night! HaHaHa.
In all the analyses of yesterday’s glorious election night, I’ve missed the discussion of the reverse impact of voter suppression on election turnout. For hour after hour as we manned our store front staging area and saw streams of voters come in for information about their polling places or registration status, I felt the visceral anger of voters at the state’s attempt to suppress their vote and push a voter ID law on them that was clearly aimed at discouraging them. From the minute we opened our doors in the morning, I heard one person after another say that they would stay in line til they dropped rather than give “them” (the GOP) the satisfaction of giving up their right to vote. Though polling staff asked for IDs (they couldn’t require them, although many tried) people stood their ground and not only refused to cooperate, but came storming in to tell us they knew the law and weren’t going to get pushed around. By mid morning I was beginning to fear that things could get ugly, but we kept reporting concerns to our county election office and they, mercifully, responding immediately by chastising polling judges who were pushing too hard.
We were just a tiny segment of the voting universe, but I would bet love for the president was buoyed by voter backlash against the heavy handed suppression that dominated local news throughout the summer and fall. Republican state houses and legislatures underestimated the intelligence of voters and set in place the law of unintended consequences. They have learned the hard way that you don’t mess with people’s rights without a fight. Exhausted as I am, I am so proud of my fellow citizens and giddy with joy, love and gratitude that our beloved president is coming back to the While House where he belongs.
as a citizen of PA…i thank your for your hard work and untiring efforts to re-elect the President…(((huggs)))
PF, I know how hard you worked as well. We were the President’s foot soldier brigade.

Jackie, as a fellow Pennsylvanian, I so appreciate all the work you’ve put in to make this our reality. Thank you !!
EDP, the same to you, compatriot.
Your dedication, Jackie, and that of so many of our fellow citizens is what democracy, for real, is all about. Thank you!!!
Bob, I stand in awe of all you did this year to elect the president. You are and have been an inspiration.
Has anyone commented yet on what percentage of the total electorate voted?
POTUS re-elected. More Ds in Senate and House.

I am not sure if you all saw this link yet but it is filled with Mitt Romney’s supporters and staffers who were DEVASTATED after the loss. . . . I think this will be a keeper for me anyway. lololol lots of great close up pictures.
I dislike Romney so much that the less I see of him the better. Thank goodness that I never have to see him and his bitter wife again. I’m sure they’ll keep clear of politics now that their entitled behinds have lost. But I’ll look at your link for a last laugh at losers.

Ok TODers, now that we have won, I wish to remind you ALL that we promised here sometime ago that we would have a TOD reunion at the Inauguration on Jan 20 2013.
So we should start planning that. Any ideas?
Hope that happens. I didn’t attend the last inauguration but definitely will be at this one.
Four More Years, To Senator McConnell
Posted: 07 Nov 2012 08:23 AM PST
Four more years for President Obama, that is. Two more for you.
I’m sure this day must be as sad for you as it is exciting for me. I can’t imagine how it must feel to fail at the single thing you tried to accomplish the last four years. Okay. That’s not exactly true; I can imagine how horrible that would feel and hope your reality is even worse than what I’m imagining.
Maybe you can come up with a few respectful goals for your final two years in the Senate. Your statement last night after President Obama won his second term left little room for hope that you might have a decent bone in your body but I’m a dreamer. I offer my thoughts on your statement below:
“The American people did two things: They gave President Obama a second chance to fix the problems that even he admits he failed to solve during his first four years in office, and they preserved Republican control of the House of Representatives,” McConnell said in a statement. Did you forget again that your words would be heard and read by the entire world, not just the few Republicans who are willing to believe any lies you tell them? Here are the two things I gave President Obama when I voted for him yesterday: I gave President Obama the opportunity to complete the job that you did everything possible to obstruct, and I told him that I appreciate all he managed to accomplish despite your ugliness and want him to continue the same path, only with less patience for your childishness.
“The voters have not endorsed the failures or excesses of the president’s first term, they have simply given him more time to finish the job they asked him to do together with a Congress that restored balance to Washington after two years of one-party control” .Who do you think you are to try and speak for the people who re-elected President Obama? You have no idea what we think or endorse. This voter endorses President Obama’s successes and regrets that my state saddled him with someone as lazy and disgusting as you to deal with. The only way we can truly restore balance to Congress is to unseat the unbalanced Republican obstructionists. And I am confident we will do that.
“Now it’s time for the president to propose solutions that actually have a chance of passing the Republican-controlled House of Representatives and a closely divided Senate, step up to the plate on the challenges of the moment, and deliver in a way that he did not in his first four years in office.” If you had been paying attention, you would know that President Obama proposed workable solutions. The Republican-controlled House has little interest in anything except vaginas and that’s absolutely unacceptable. For you to try to imply otherwise is about as dishonest as – well, Mitt Romney’s existence. Seriously, Senator McConnell, it is time for you to stop embarrassing sane and decent Kentuckians with inflammatory, childish, cliched rhetoric like “step up to the plate”. While you’ve been sitting on the bench with your thumb in your mouth, President Obama has been at the plate hitting home runs. Wake up and stop lying.
“To the extent he wants to move to the political center, which is where the work gets done in a divided government, we’ll be there to meet him half way.” I think President Obama has this under control without your sorry, lazy, pretenses. Get out of the way. Lame ducks hurt when they hit hard.

Just saw on MSNBC that no GOP President has won more than 286 Electoral Votes since 1988. I did not know that.
Funny how our President’s 303, soon to be 332 after Florida is added, is somehow not a mandate.
But it is a very telling statistic that the GOP has enjoyed a smaller and smaller margin of approval from the population over the last 25 years.
great point Grab a Mop Grace. Not sure why it is taking so long to add the Florida count when it shows it is at 100% reported.
GMG, saying “no GOP President has won more than 286 Electoral Votes since 1988″ is a euphemism to hide the fact that they are talking about President George W. Bush. He is the only GOP president since 1988. In both 2000 and 2004, Bush won 272 and 286 EVs, respectively. On top of that, in 2000 Bush lost the popular vote by more than half a million votes. Yet no one questioned his mandate to be President.

Obama & Luther Celebrate Four More Years: Key & Peele Respond To Election Night (VIDEO) huff.to/Rh1L7i via @HuffPostComedy— Edwina (@NJedwina) November 07, 2012
I think Chris Matthews needs a vacation or a nap. When I heard him make the comment about the storm last night I was shocked and personally offended. I saw Lawrence O’Donnell shaking his head because he realized what Chris has said. He’s been on such an emotional rollercoaster the past year combined with the fact that he has jack-ass tendencies, I say a break is in order.
He just apologized profusely. He is very sorry. He knows he fucked up LOL I had no idea he said that actually, I was sleep by then.
Oh god, what did Tweety say?
Right before 3am he said he was glad that Sandy happened because it changed the outcome of the election.
Really, Tweety, really?
Apology not accepted. Sorry, but that is something that Tweety has been peddling for the past week. This was not a mistake or slip up. it’s what he believes at the core of his being. That this President is LUCKY, not talented, not brilliant, not good with people, etc., but is just getting by solely on LUCK. Barack Obama owes his win to Bill Clinton or Hurricane Sandy. Does not deserve any credit. Sorry, but this reaction from Tweety represents his true belief.
What actually REALLY made me mad at Chris Matthews last night was his criticism of PBO’s victory speech. He eviscorated him for not thanking Bill Clinton. Rev Al and Rachel countered what he said and mentioned that could come at a later time, but he then repeated it and even said it was the time to thank and hold up all the Dem wins. The other two said it was themed to be unifying not partisan, but he was having none of it.
He said there was no excuse for what he said – he said it was wrong, he shouldn’t have said it, etc. I believe he’s sorry.
He started to spread the love for Romney as soon as the concession speech was made – they are all pundits – and want controversy – all the time. They should read the post from nospin below and start to understand that people can work together and don’t need the media stirring up the issues – all the time. The people won this election – they ignored the pundits and voted for the world defined by PBO many times – the United States.
I heard him talking about his apology with Bill Maher but had no idea of what he had apologized for. My goodness! That’s a horrible, inexcusable thing to say. And yes, he needs a long vacation to get his head together. But I guess Matthews has been known to run his mouth in the past so this is not too surprising.
Have they arrived as yet?
Not yet. They are expected to arrive around 5:30. Check the links that Chips has provided. :)
Chips – I wanted to take a quick moment to say thank you for the forum you have provided. Earlier this year PO spoke up in support of marriage equality for GLBTs and initially I struggled with that because of my religious beliefs. You allowed me to openly express my concerns and commenter were respectful in their dissent.
Because of that conversation I received a response from one TODer who opened my mind to what marriage equality was all about. Because of those conversations, I was able to share with my family, church members, a few Pastors, community members and others who felt the way I did at that time. Because of you and this site, I was able to convince 100% of the folks I reached out to vote FOR Question 6 in Maryland.
Those votes were in the hundreds. Those votes all counted and as a result we helped Maryland pass Question 6 allowing Same sex couples to marry with 52% of the votes. http://www.examiner.com/article/question-6-passes-same-sex-couples-maryland-can-now-legally-marry
You all did this. Thanks again for opening my mind.
Wow – what an impactful testimonial! Excellent!
wow nospin that is so wonderful, thank you for sharing this.
This is the great opportunity for change that POTUS spoke to us about last night – the idea that we can learn more about one another and not be filled with fear and the need to denigrate. My hat is off to you and your community for opening your hearts and minds to those who may not be like us and understanding their struggle for equality.
the thing meta is that I wasn’t filled with fear or any need to denigrate anyone. It was more along the lines of . . . hey those beliefs were a part of my religious faith and so I never thought anything else about it.
So when PO challenged that line of thinking it forced me to examine my neutral stance and It made me uncomfortable. But EveinGeorgia made me understand it was never about religion. At it’s core, the question is a very simple one. How could I stand by and do nothing when anyone is discriminated against? Everyone should have the same rights and freedoms as everyone else. So where do I stand?
When I thought about it, the bottom line for me was that everyone deserves respect. Everyone deserves the right to happiness. Standing silent while laws prevented citizens from having equal access to the same rights as anyone else was flat wrong.
So being silent was no longer an option. I understood that I was looking at this from the wrong lens and making excuses and turning a blind eye all the while blaming inaction on religion was inexcusable. So, I started reaching out and talking to folks.
TOD made the difference. I am glad to see Maryland did the right thing and my hope is that other states follow through to do the same thing sooner rather than later.
thank you nospin for this testimonial. i am so proud of our chips, for providing this safe place for us to discuss our beliefs, and support our president. your story about changed minds and changed votes is an example of how respect actually works! mutual respect gets things done! our president knows this, and that’s a big reason we support him, whether we’ve thought of it exactly that way or not.
and i want to add that you, my dear, took the widening of your understanding the next step. you talked to others, and widened their understanding, too. you took knowledge and turned it into action. that’s what changes the world, every time.
i’m so grateful to be able to stop in here every day and converse with you wonderful tod people!!
I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to imply that was the case with you. It was clear that you had searched your conscience and arrived at a new understanding. Thanks for sharing your story.
Chips, count me in with nospin. Exactly how I feel. Thanks.
The livesteam for the First Family’s arrival has been cancelled due to weather.
Celebration at Obama HQ, per White House photo http://t.co/UZxg4m5H— Alexander Mooney/CNN (@AWMooneyCNN) November 07, 2012
Oh, I hope we’ll get a video!
When will we know they have landed safe? Please.
I clicked on the White House feed and it says “beginning shortly.”
White house is no longer going to live stream due to weather. :( I’m seriously bummed….
Just saw that Hopefruit :-( Wondering if those CBS or CNN links will have it?
I am hoping so….
love these couples…
CBS live streaming now … beautiful view of the Capitol
Good morning everyone (my time). I just read that the gender gap in the election was 18%!!!!!!!!!!
So the GOP war on women – that Miss Ann said did not exist – was fought by women with their vote – democracy at its best.
But you forgot that Ann ended her convention speech with a resounding “I love you women!!!” That was supposed to prove that there was no Rethug war on women, doncha know?
Oh no! WHitehouse.gov just flashed a message on the screen that due to weather they won’t be able to live stream our President’s arrival at the WH. :(
I hope CBS or CNN is still showing it!!!
Sure hope they arrive safely. Will probably have to drive.
All i see is the capitol building
they were to land @ 5:30pm
every angry tweet you send a reporter blaming him/her for Romney's loss will erase a demographic disadvantage of 10 voters in 2016!— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) November 07, 2012
Can someone explain this!
That’s bizarre…. I can only imagine it is snark. The only way it makes sense is to understand that he is saying that Romney lost the election because of demographic disadvantage, and is implying ironically that sending angry tweets will somehow address that disadvantage.
Is that supposed to be a threat or something? HA!
Of course, what is humorous about this is that Jake Tapper is apparently responding to angry Rs who accuse him of being the liberal press. Hahahahahah that’s a good one.
hmmmm….you are right about that..
I think he is sarcastically implying that Willard lost due to demographic changes and not due to reporters – who the angry tweeters are blaming. And blaming reporters will not change the 2016 election which will also reflect the demographic shift in this country.
hmmm…how ironic is that? the RW claiming that the journalisst are biased towards PBO….
i think many of us here would have a word or two to say about that
Love this response to his silly tweet …
@jaketapper I don't know why they would be mad at u. You tried your best to get Romney elected.— libby gurgis (@Mets86girl) November 07, 2012
#NEWSTAINERS are definitely taking a beating from the fetid right wing …
HA! Perfect response.
Jake has blocked many progressives, but it seems he’s more than happy to get angry tweets from right wingers? It figures.
NH voters think a woman's place is in the House. Oh yeah, and in the Senate…and in the Governor's Office.— Jeff Hayward (@Hayward60) November 07, 2012
The WH staff were suppose to be outside to welcome the President and his family. But I guess because of the weather things have change.
Just saw the First Family leaving their plane and getting into their car on Al Sharpton’s show.
Need to call BS on this GOP "demographic problem" narrative. Changing demos would not matter if GOP didn't have hostile POLICIES. @Lawrence— (@Only4RM) November 07, 2012
it is not the demographics that are the issue..it is the policies that are being promoted by the GOP….anti woman,,,anti worker…policies against civil and human rights….
these are the policies that the voters soundly rejected yesterday…..
and i am ever grateful…!!!!!
prettyfoot58’s post of the A&S song above made me think about this one… [SNL did even did a spoof]
Ashford & Simpson such a beautiful couple. RIP Nick!
Ooh CBS is livestreaming the arrival!!!! I see Marine one flying in :)
I meant to say AF1 – they just landed.
CBS live stream has AF1 touching down now.
CBS Stream is up!!
Here comes the President.
AF1 – touchdown …
Streaming – First Family arriving at Andrews: http://www.cbsnews.com/liveFeed/widget.shtml
Dang, did I miss it? I just see cement. Arrrgh!!
First they moved the camera, not it’s back to just the cement. :-(
now it’s back on just the cement…
AF1 has landed
I totally missed the rally in Charlottesville where The Boss did an impersonation of PBO! That must’ve been a hoot!
Taxiing and more taxiing (is that a word?)
Marine One or motorcade?
What is that CBS camera guy doing? Had a bit too much to drink last night and this morning?
LOL…..I was flipping channels and Katie has Bill O-the-Clown-OReilly that Romney couldn’t convince people that Bush is not at fault for the bad economy that Bush created and that President Obama’s handling of Hurricane Sandy gave him momentum and this lady in the audience was shaking her head “noooooooooo” probably thinking Bill you are crazy”.
Slowly but surely ….
The Texas Democratic party is proud to report that we added 3 seats to our Congressional Delegation while retaining all previous seats!— TX Democratic Party (@TXDemParty) November 07, 2012
I know, I know. Checklists and more checklists. Then throw the journalists off first so they can have their picture, then the staff and next the President and First Family. Patience has never been my strong suit.
Is that Marine One coming in?
Weird… I thought I saw AF1 already on the ground when camera person flipped camera around a few minutes ago!
OK that must have been shadow plane that always travels with President, because now they are showing another one flying in.
Wheels down on second plane.
LOL! I was about to say that AF1 landed – again….
Ohhh…. that’s it! Phew. That I was losing it! :-)
“Thought…” apparently I am. Need some rest. :-)
Just checked back and is this video or another “AF1″ landing ?
2nd plane. Looks like smaller one.
Thanks friend!!! Excellent tweets earlier today :)
I keep pinching myself …. it really is 7 Nov and President Obama is REALLY 44 for 4 More :)
Apparently, live … jacobslily – yep!
As jacob suggested must be a shadow plane…security is extra tight.
New post, this one’s getting long!
Seriously though, I’m going to need a 12 step program soon. Too much Obama cyberstalking
Wing light on the left side doesn’t shine as brightly head on as the right side. Someone should look into that. :-)
Dear Toders, Okay someone here must know. How do I get some tickets to the Inauguration day speech? Do I contact OFA? I have spent the last four years working for this President. The last two years really working. The last year killing myself. I need to see this speech. Plus my daughter is living in D.C. and I bought my plane ticket there two months ago. I want to be up close!!! Help me out if you know how to get three tickets.
I would start with your OFA office. They must know some details.
Cindy, I can only share with you how things worked at the last Inauguration. There was a tremendous interest in supporters attending. Each state was given a limited amount of tickets. Tickets were distrubuted based on your activism in the campaign. Very few volunteers were given “up close” tickets (those go to big stars and donors). They were given a ticket that was closer to the Inaugural stage than the general public but you still needed to use the big screens placed on the Mall to see what was happening on the Capitol.
Contact your Team Leader or Regional Field Director and put your request in.
Our first family is back in D.C. Their home for 4 more years.
Welcome home, dear President! May you and the entire First Family enjoy a quiet night at home, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC.
Watching Rev.Al. on Politics Nation. he has a side window of Air Force One landing.
