Ironic isn’t it? I said I’d be glad when the campaign is over … I like it best when he is in the White House, Joe Biden at his side, Michelle and the girls upstairs … and yet, what? Just a couple of days and it’s like … ok, where is he? What is he doing? Seriously, I hope he is resting, planning (all the wonderful things he wants to do for us), plotting (taking down the MSM and the GOP) and playing basketball + petting Bo and loving on the family.

Did you see that labor guy (Steel worker) on Ed tonight? He said that labor really needs to have our President’s back during this deficit reduction debate, and that they should have been out in the streets when he was trying to get the stimulus, jobs bill and health care reform passed.

Good evening (in EST) Chips and TOD family and lurkers.

My last time speaking of those who shall not be named: I just cannot get over all that I have been reading about how they are their supporters were so stunned by their huge loss. The self- delusion showed that they lived in an alternate universe of their own making and wish fulfillment. I have never seen the like outside of cults. Sheesh,

      Cults? Uh, almost.

    • 116 LunarSea
      November 12, 2012 at 7:47 pm

I said repeatedly during the final weeks that the more they believed it the higher it took them the harder they’d fall.

That is, I think, one of the main sources of all this gloating. The lies, the pompous attitudes, the dismissiveness of the 47% and more.

But the biggest irony of their loss is what did them in was the numbers. They REALLY are NOT very good at math.

Rate on return of ad $$ -#mathfail
didn’t think could increase AA turnout – #mathfail
purging voters without comparing to new voters registered – #mathfail
failing to count union voting numbers – #mathfail
      LyningRyan budget – #mathfail
tax breaks for wealthy and deficit reduction – #mathfail

and the list goes on! So in the future when our children’s children ask us about the demise of fabled once great and powerful republican party we’ll regale them with tales of deceptions, lie, media collusions & unhealthy alliances.Bbut mostly we’ll tell them how important it is that they stay in school and pay attention, because what ultimately did the GOP in was…..math!

Everyone loves a winner! One of the more interesting aspects of the American psyche is this desire for a fighter while at the same time saying they want bipartianship between the parties. If I remember correctly, PBO’s approval rating started going up–after hitting the low point in the summer of 2011 with the debt ceiling debacle–when he started fighting back against the GOP. Similarly, they obviously wanted to see the fighting PBO in the debates. I hope he remembers that.

On a totally frivolous note, can’t wait to see FLOTUS inaugural gown this time around. While her white one the first time around seemed fitting it was not to my taste. My sense in watching her the last four years is that she has gone for a sleeker more elegant look for formal wear in the last couple of years so it will be fascinating to see what she chooses this time around.

And I am thrilled to see that PBO is taking his fiscal cliff campaign on the road after Thanksgiving. Will give us all a chance to get involved again. And BTW, I swear I hate the GOP more every day. Cannot believe that Lindsay Graham is comparing Benghazi to the Iran Contra and 9/11 investigations. Dream on you jerk!!!!!!

    • 129 ewok2
      November 12, 2012 at 7:56 pm

Iran contra and 9/11 investigations were all due to Republican failures and corruption. President Obama is not in that company, they have one of their own Petraeus a big failure for his lack of judgement and emotional controll and who knows what else.

      November 12, 2012 at 8:11 pm

yeah, LePage got in as a fluke because the majority couldn’t decide between a good independent and a lousy dem candidate. By the time we got close to the election and ppl realized the dem was our own Coakley (from Mass who got Brown the win) it was too late. We had already gotten many to vote early for the dem and on voting day more went to the independent, thereby splitting the vote.

I thought our Dem candidate running to replace Snow -Dill- was really good & female, but Angus King was more widely known. Ppl were afraid of splitting the vote and giving the win to the NRA candidate so most voted for Angus. I have some reservations on him but he’s way better that what the split vote would’ve gotten us.

LePage won with 64% of the electorate voting AGAINST him. And boy but we don’t like him at all!

Would that leave his seat open for Brown to try again in Massachusetts? Is there a viable Dem to replace him? Of course I wouldn’t deprive him of the job if he wants it, but it sure would be nice to know that his seat is safe.

Think somebody was mentioning last week that MA Gov. Deval Patrick was at the White House for a meeting, and there was speculation they were chattin’ him up to run for Sen. Kerry’s seat, if it opened up … but that was just speculation.

However, Deval did say this after his 2012 DNC Convention Speech, when asked if he’d run for President in 2016 (from Wiki): “Just chatter … I’m gonna finish my term [as governor] in 2014. I’m gonna return to the private sector where I’ve spent … most of my career.”

The downside is loss of senate seat. Me don’t likey. What if the poster boy decides make a run again ? Who is going the dem candidate for that seat? If he/she strong enough to retain the seat for us ? See ? A lot of questions.

      • 200 hopefruit2
        November 12, 2012 at 8:57 pm

That’s a potential downside. However, I think the political conditions now are at least somewhat, if not completely different from what they were in 2010. People in MA understand the importance of having a Democratic- controlled senate and are not about to pull a “2010.” after all the work they’ve done to re-elect this President and dump Scott Brown.

Evening all, hope everyone is doing well….

I recently went by Obamafoodorama, and I’ve had the feeling lately, that the blogger has been more snide lately about the President. It’s weird, but every so often, I read a sentence and felt like it was used as an opportunity to ding the President.

i’ve stopped going to that site, but wasn’t sure if others felt the same…Normally I’m not one to get all defensive about writing. Totally get people have a right to opinions and have the right to rationally criticize the President or raise concerns, but for some reason I just don’t get any pleasure reading that site anymore…

    • November 12, 2012 at 8:20 pm

Hmm, that’s interesting pinkbunny92. Haven’t been there for a while, but it’s usually a fantastic source of information – would be pretty miserable if they turned snide.

    • November 12, 2012 at 8:28 pm

She’s a supporter but she definitely has her issues that she cares deeply about, mostly to do with food, nutrition and Dept of Agriculture policy. So she does occasionally speak out and she does sound critical. But overall, I think she is supportive of POTUS and especially FLOTUS because of her obesity campaign.

Chi, absolutely agree, he’s never needed everyone’s support more, he can and will do amazing things (again) over the next four years, but he needs everyone to show as much heart and support for the cause as they did for the election. And I’ve honestly a feeling that’s precisely what will happen, I think people know what’s at stake. Great to hear from you, our hours mean we keep missing each other here!

        November 12, 2012 at 10:58 pm

I think laughing is the best response to this story. I am sorry, but I refuse to take this salacious story seriously. People in NY, NJ, CT are still suffering from the devastation of Sandy and Athena. Millions of Americans are still unemployed. Racial and religious hatred continue to spread all across America. Yet the media wants me to be all hyped up about an affair between two consenting adults. Now if there is concrete proof that the General’s affair impacted national security I am willing to listen. So far, all I’ve seen is escalating details about the affair and hints (without concrete evidence) about the possibility of compromised classified info. I see this as another Monica Lewensiky media preoccupation. Something that has absolutely nothing to do with solving major problems facing the country. It’s also a distraction from the reality that President Obama won a decisive victory in spite of the massive money raised by billionaires and millionaires to defeat him, and in spite of the hostile media against him. Just my two cents.

So let me get this straight. The other other woman goes to a friend in the FBI to complain because the other woman is sending her some ‘you betta leave my man alone’ emails. The agent then assures the other, other woman not to worry, he’d take care of it. He gets an investigation going, even though the other, other woman is just a regular citizen like any other other other woman. Now the FBI opens a case and finds out that the head CIA guy, who they can’t stand anyway, has done nothing other than not paying enough attention to the other woman. Evidently, the agent figures the other other woman is fair game and if old ass Petreaus could pull, then surely he could. The FBI finds out that the agent is after the other other woman and takes him off the case. The agent is afraid the FBI would drop the case therefore ruining his bragging rights with the other other woman. So Instead of beating his chest in bravado to her, he sends her pictures of his chest. The agent tells the Repubs cause he reallly really wants to impress the other other woman. The FBI not sure what to do cause once you know about something you’d damn well better tell somebody (it’s not the act , it’s the cover-up). The FBI holds on to it as long as they can, call in Peterlust and the other woman and tells them the stuff is hitting the fan, like NOW!! The other woman has to cancel her 40th birthday party and Peterlust has to cancel his career. The Repubs want to protect Peterlust, cause he’s their guy so they keep mum. Now we are left with a jealous other woman, taking down Peterlust over another other other woman. Peterlust goes on bended knee to his wife, and the other womans have draft emails and hairy chest to hang onto. Did I get that right?

What??? Wow. Details, if they’re reliable, are increasingly unbelievable. With Broadwell’s emails to the other woman of “I know what you did” and “Stay away from my guy”—–to reports that the Tampa woman is in big financial troub, with 4 lawsuits pending against her and husband, owe a ton of money to a bunch of banks, foreclosures on properties—–with speculation that she will make millions from selling her story etc. Ay yi yi.

The Senate confirms the nominees, and Peter King is a member of the House of Reps. He will have nothing to say officially about Rice’s nomination. Now little Lindsey Graham will spout and spout and he will get to vote, but the committee will vote probably unanimously and bring a strong report to the entire Senate. Still, winning by 3.4 million is quite impressive. That’s more people than those that reside in Alaska, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana combined -all the states won by Romney. The fact of the matter is: President Obama won 8 out 10 of the most populous states in the U.S. All the media talk about Romney winning the popular vote was premised on the false assumption that he was going to win substantially in FL, VA, and NC. Romney ended up loosing both FL and VA, and winning narrowly in NC. After loosing CA, NY, FL, IL, OH, PA, MI, NJ and VA there was no way Romney was going to win the popular vote.

But you know, AMK, something has gone horribly wrong with the U.S. media. In 2000 George W. Bush lost the popular vote by more than 1/2 million votes and barely won the electoral votes by two votes with the help of the U.S. Supreme Court. No one in the press questioned his mandate to govern. In 2004, George W. Bush, once again, barely won the electoral votes and won the popular vote by 3 million. Most of the media, and even Bush himself, said that he won a mandate to govern based on his policies.

In 2008, President Obama won the election with a margin of 10 million more popular votes than his opponent, and 365 electoral votes. In fact in 2008, over 69 million Americans voted for President Obama. That’s more Americans that have ever voted for any other President in history. But that was never accepted as a mandate for President Obama to govern based on his policies. In 2012, President Obama won 332 electoral votes and tentatively with over 3 million more popular votes than Romney; a number that’s likely to increase once all the votes are counted. Yet, once again, the media is calling his win a squeaker, (per CBC Bob Scheiffer) which gives him no mandate to govern based on the policies he campaigned on. As far as I am concerned, the so called mainstream media poses one of the greatest threat to American democracy. Instead of asking the people President Obama defeated to cooperate with the president, the media is asking the President to surrender to the policies of the people he defeated. It’s really up to us citizens to challenge the media by launching campaigns, using every means necessary, to support the President’s policies. Clearly, the only way President Obama would be accepted by most in the media as a legitimate President is if he had won all the fifty states and was supported by 99% of white voters. To use one state as an example: 67% of whites in Vermont who voted for President Obama were, according to Cokie Roberts, evidence that whites had abandoned the President. President Obama needed to win 99.9% of whites in Vermont to demonstrate that he had white support. Similarly, the same majority of whites in the South who voted against him in 2008 and did so again in 2012 showed that whites had abandoned the President. Thus Ms. Roberts and his fellow media pundits, feel that the President is obligated is to structure his policies to satisfy the needs of all the 33% of whites in Vermont who voted against him as well the 80% of whites in Mississippi, South Carolina, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, Oklahoma, Texas, etc., etc., who will never vote him, no matter what he does, as long as he is black..

I understand the mindset of many in the media. Although I have avoided saying this to my daughter and all the young people in my family, I grew up in an era when my parents taught us that in order to be accepted by society (meaning white society) and be successful, we had to be twice as good as any white a person. Clearly, this is the standard that President Obama has be held to, and is still being held to, despite all that he has accomplished. Thankfully, there are many people of all colors, races, faiths, gender, sexual orientation, who recognize the talent and accomplishments of President Obama, and who refuse to buy into the doubles standards and false memes peddled by the so called mainstream media.

Ugh. Okay, I think the truce between me and The Cow is soon coming to an end. It looks like she’s going back on her high horse in order to draft PBO’s second term agenda. No thanks, heifer!

WHAT?!!! Not just his pants?! She was “all in” other stuff too?! Yikes! Man! What’s wrong with society today? Used to be two people had an extramarital affair and all both parties got were a few slap and tickles and a little romping before parting ways. Now, the mistress tries to crack state secrets and sell books about it. Crazy. SMH.

So if ol’ Peterlust, didn’t share any national security stuff with her, could there be another other man, as well as another other other woman? If the other other woman and her husband are in financial straits, then is Peterlust really the other man in this and only thinks he has another other other woman?

President Obama is considering asking Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) to serve as his next defense secretary, part of an extensive rearrangement of his national security team that will include a permanent replacement for former CIA director David H. Petraeus.

Although Kerry is thought to covet the job of secretary of state, senior administration officials familiar with the transition planning said that nomination will almost certainly go to Susan E. Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

John O. Brennan, Obama’s chief counterterrorism adviser, is a leading contender for the CIA job if he wants it, officials said. If Brennan goes ahead with his plan to leave government, Michael J. Morell, the agency’s acting director, is the prohibitive favorite to take over permanently. Officials cautioned that the White House discussions are still in the early stages and that no decisions have been made.

Ambassador Rice is a very dedicated and qualified person to become Sec of State ( and so is Sen Kerry). She has been very loyal to PBO and our POTUS remembers this.

When I heard her strong statement (about US’ seat on the Human Rights) today at the UN, I thought that this is a signal from Team Obama that they are still considering nominating her for State and will go to the mat for to be confirmed.

Truth be told, I listened to Ambassador Rice’s statements about Benghazi and I seem to recall that she said that what they suspected then was the attack had to do with the video. I also thought she went on to say they were still waiting for additional information to know if this is true
