Monday mornings are always so hectic on my job so this is the first opportunity I’ve had to post and respond to all the GORGEOUS photos of the President and SOS Hilary in Burma. The wonderful signs welcoming the President have reduced me to tears. I have never been so uplifted and proud of any president ever! We are so very blessed to have him.
Thank you Chips for these amazing photos…the beautiful bright colors, the happy, warm and welcoming people of Burma…just incredible. I continue to thank you for creating such a wonderful, positive place for us to be.
Oh and yes…my President is looking very fine in that shirt! What do you bet that these shirts will be the next fashion explosion! LOL!

Did you guys see Ken Burns’ documentary on The Dust Bowl last night on PBS? Can’t wait for the second part tonight.
Although I admit to my political leanings affecting my judgment: watching these elderly witnesses of the horrors of the dust storms that lasted a decade and the clear, definitive science that this catastrophe was completely man-made: I bet all these people vote Republican, despite the clear message that common sense regulation over greed and the need for instant self-gratification is the only way to avoid these catastrophes and STABILIZE our economy and ecosystem.

The best thing is Use a humidifier or vaporizer.
Take long showers or — very carefully — breathe in steam from a pot on the stove.
Drink lots of fluids, which will thin out your mucus and may help prevent your sinuses from getting blocked up.
Use a nasal saline spray – simple unmedicated salt water – to help prevent your nasal passages from drying out.
I suffer from the same thing…and this is my remedy..works!!! Get well soon

It’s really excellent and I highly recommend it. There was so much I didn’t know about this period in history and the personal testimonials were heart wrenching and very graphic, making the horrors of this experience come to life.

I watched it one and half times, and will watch Part 2 tonight. Yes, and the locations—–all Romney states. Need we say more? Indigenous people knew the land. The buffalo grass was rooted five feet deep, thereby retaining moisture for cattle and sustenance for crops, all the while protecting the soil. Those people admittedly were greedy for wealth promised to them, and kept repeating misguided farming practices, causing their own misfortunes.
I saw a bit of it and, like you, I was struck by the man-made aspect of it, and how, despite it being man-made, religiosity and superstition ruled the day — until FDR and the big bad government (along with those darned scientific experts!) had to step in with common sense and ingenuity. The more things change, the more things stay the same.
But, I digress. BACK TO THE SHIRT.
We watched the Ken Burns Dust Bowl docmentary too. Since we live in Oklahoma, it hit home. We had watched Bill Moyers the hour before whose guest was Naomi Klein, who is a journalist concerned with climate change. She has been studying it for ten years, and is factual. The thing that got to us, was that she said Oklahoma is in the bull’s eye again for this warming. She talked about the green algae on our lakes last summer…..too hot temps for too long, and how our Senator, Jim Inhofe, is the big clmiate change denier…he says it’s a hoax. In fact, he was supposed to be at a conference about this subject, but couldn’t attend because he had gotten sick from the lake waters here with the green algae…..but still won’t acknowledge climate change. We have to contend with rank ignorance and science denying.
Oh yes……President Obama and that shirt are quite spectacular.
So sorry to hear of your sinus problems. I used to get recurrent infections at drop of a hat, even after sinus surgery. In addition to lots of water, Guaifenesin in high doses can help. Treatment for nasal polyps and eliminating as much mold as possible from my daily environment put me on the road to good health. Hope you get well soon!

You cannot believe how often Sue in Min. comes to mind, and I think my ‘sinking feeling’ stems from the fact that the first time we missed her for a while she had been in hospital and had undergone serious surgery. I so wish there was some way we could know for sure how she is, or even if she knows we think of her often.
Vc and Donna, I still have Sue in my candles box. I hope Sue is doing fine. We will keep good thoughts going forth and pray that our meditations and prayers will come into her space for goodness.

I’ve been quiet but throughly enjoying all the craze about “THE SHIRT.” Newcomers to TOD should understand that what’s is happening with “THE SHIRT” is indeed crazy, but it’s the “Good Crazy.” Besides, after all the serious and hard work by TOD members to help re-elect our great President, I think it’s perfectly fine to spend sometime having fun and appreciating their fine looking President.
