Throughout his trip in South East Asia he was constantly on the phone with both Morsi and Netanyahu, before and after his meetings with the leaders of China and Japan. The president even made time to speak with both leaders during a dinner held as part of a summit of East Asian leaders.
His goal – creating the conditions needed for a ceasefire. Publically he praised Morsi and Netanyahu, and behind the scenes he was pressuring them to bring the conflict between Israel and Hamas to an end.

The Egyptian economy is on the brink of collapse and the newly elected president is no longer a member of the underground opposition but rather a president who now has 85 million mouths to feed. Obama can grant him financial aid and help him receive additional funds from the IMF.
Obama and other high ranking American officials, such as Hillary Clinton and Leon Panetta, have warned their Egyptian counterparts that Egypt is at risk of losing its aid from Congress, which is beginning to lose patience with Egypt.

Nevermind. I saw part of it but not the part with Bo. I love, love how FLOTUS is training the girls to execute their social responsibilities. She is amazing. The girls are beautiful and gracious and kind, just their amazing mom and dad.

Good Morning all. Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving. Hubby and daughter are at work. I worked last night from 2am until 7am. I had to get up at 11am to take my daughter to work. Pharmacy was closed but they needed someone to work the Service Desk. The shift called for someone they knew would show up. I am there for guest questions, returns, money and cashier issues. I twiddled my thumbs for 4 hours. The other hour I did just a little work. Had a great time talking with my co-workers….
Chips, thank you again for giving me a place to go with such a great TOD Family. I check in here 1st thing every morning and several times throughout the day.,

The dinner yesterday went really well, lots of great food (I’d never done Thanksgiving at a restaurant, and it was unbelievable the lack of stress about cooking!), all around lovely experience. We told stories about Mom, who passed away three years ago now (remember my original story of her saying “Barrrr-ack!” with her italian accent, she really loved him), we all over-ate — as per usual. The only thing political that came up was my liberal brother in law was talking about the lush agriculture in the valley in California where he grew up and I mentioned being disappointed that Prop 37 hadn’t passed. He asked, “oh really, what’s that?” I kept it light, saying oh, it was just so that GMOs could be labeled.” My niece pipes in, without missing a beat, “But that would cost too much money!” And I said, very calmly, “Yeah, but, shouldn’t people know what they are getting?” And her conservative father agreed with me (!)…Also good conversation with my niece’s boyfriend, also conservative, who hadn’t heard of the Dust Bowl and I told him about the brilliant Ken Burns doc which aired recently (and if you go to pbs.org, you can view both episodes in their entirety).
