My choice, though would be all of the People who voted for this wonderfulman. Those who stood in long lines and voted for the first time. Especially those who were bold enough to vote not for a crazy party that has gone too far right, listened to their conscious and heart. So if it was up to me, “We The People”. We refused to let this momentum die and embraced change

          • November 26, 2012 at 6:44 pm

That would be a great choice LDS, ‘We the People’, and a beautiful message to the GOP – well, they got their message on Nov 6, but this would round the year off nicely.

Yes, Chips. They need a transformation of the mind and heart. Our President is slowly schooling them….step by step…inch by inch.
Let us be patient. It is not going to happen overnight. It is a process, a slow process. We have to watch, wait , be still some time, stfu most of the time, have our President’s back all of the time. These next four years are going to be extraordinary in so many ways.
              Thank you, Chips for everything.

“These next four years are going to be extraordinary in so many ways.”

I think so too LDS, the last four were special enough, but I’m excited about the days ahead. Thanks LDS.

I vote for “Persons of the Year” President Obama, OFA and campaign staff for running the greatest campaign in American hisotry and ALL the people that stood in line defying the GOP’s determination to take their right to vote away from them.

I totally love this idea, LDS. They are the real heroes of November 6. It still gives me chills to think of what people endured on election day to exercise their right to vote. It was one of the great acts of both affirmation and defiance that I’ve seen in many years.

Jackiegrimbacher, thank you so much. I feel the same way about the chills that I had all day. The weather was so different. Very cool in the early morning, cold…..then unseasonably warm around 9:00 when the polls were closing. Absolutely perfect in so many ways just like four years ago. And then the next day a snowstorm!
How can you explain this? A serious storm and then a snowstorm, but we were able to vote despite all of the mood swings of the weather. Just too much to take in……see you at the Mall? Even at one of the 10 Balls…..(anything is possible if you believe)……I am believing!

Utaustinliberal, thank you. I am so proud of us! All of us…..red, white, black, brown, yellow, gay, straight, sick, well. We did it!
Today while watching the weather channel they showed a picture of the White House and the pride that I felt was too much. You see I cry often these days because I lived to see what I pictured what heaven will be. I realized that we can experience that here on earth if we would just embrace the truth, learn to love each and accept who we are as individuals. Care for one another regardless of what you look like. Where you come from. We were ALL in this together.

Believe it or not, I sometimes thank Mr. 47% for being such a blind fool. His foolishness forced some of us to do the impossible in order to see the big picture as our visionary president does and he is blessed to be a blessing for us all as he humbly and graciously said thank you holding back the tears. I will never forget the gratitude of a gracious man. It is so nice to be nice. He did not gloat or brag.
                  He was just simply……..grateful.

” Take all of that advice and run for president in 2016… I am so tired of them all.”

Exactly my sentiments, LDS! I am so sick tired of armchair pundit presidents who think that they know how to deal with the problems more than the man who has been elected twice as President. I appreciate people who write the President to highlight their concerns and issues and offer advices. What I detest are the know-it-alls, who always say: “Obama should, must, ought to, do such and such a thing.”

            • November 26, 2012 at 8:41 pm

Especially Michael Moore, who wrote a fairly offensive letter to the President the day after the election. I told him I’ll read it when his name appears on a ballot.

I think Amb. Rice will handle this just fine. He won’t know what hit him. Happens all the time in the “real world,” and if you recall the steely look in her eyes when she said originally that she’d talk with him … oh, yeah, baby … I think she’s got this!

Correct Jacquelineoboomer and Bobfr. This is not a stop bye and greet you Senator. This is a long game plan by POTUS and Dr. Rice. Old Grampy does not know that Dr. Susan Rice is a long game hard hitting player on the team. This one is from the Chess Master himself. Game on. Watch out old grumpy men, you just picked on another one of the team players who will take your behinds to the cleaners.

Trust me on this one, Dr. Susan Rice is no light-weight in this game. Behinds on fire tomorrow. POB knows exactly what he is doing. Enjoy your glass of red/white tonight because game is on now. I will leave it at that. Speak your words with power in them and let them go forth in the universe and take on that power. HZ

Chips, sadly, that’s how politics is played. Unfortunately the “bitter creep” still has enormous power, under antiquated Senate rules, to throw a stinker if she is nominated for SoS. On top of that, the “bitter creep” is still the darling of the corporate media.

        • November 26, 2012 at 7:03 pm

“The “bitter creep” is still the darling of the corporate media.”

Not so sure about that any more nathkatun7, I noticed some less than glowing reactions to his attacks on Susan Rice, I’ve a feeling even those who bowed at his feet realize he went over the bitter edge on this one.

I know what you mean, these things have to be done sometimes …. but it still kills me SR is meeting this guy!

I totally understand! I wish she didn’t dignify him with a meeting. I also stand corrected about the media because of late I’ve not been tuned into the MSM. I am glad that the “bitter Creep” is no longer the darling of the media. Still those stupid Senate rules that require unanimous consent to get things done give McCain enormous power. If the meeting can neutralize him it would be worthy it.

They’re trying to save McCain face after he so humiliated himself, so that he can say he got what he needed, and then won’t stand in the way of any nominations. They’re giving him a graceful way out of the corner he’s got himself into. He needs to retire.

By making the first move, Susan Rice will have him on the ropes. She looks magnanimous, which she is, and he looks smaller and pettier than ever….which he is. She is not afraid of him, and he came after her in a terrible way. It can be called ‘bearding the lionin in his den” except that McCain is a moth-eaten old coot, not a lion.
I totally admire her for this…..he can’t escape now. He is not one to speak to people’s faces….he does the talk show thing behind people’s backs. She does NOT. She shows that she is the bigger person by doing this.

PBO, during the first campaign, called Mclame out “let him say it to my face.” which the old coot never did. As PBO said, he went after Amb. Rice because he thought she was vulnerable (would not take on a man), but he will see that she is not. Sucks to be him.

Dr. Susan Rice is doing preventive defense tatic. She is showing up and saying to the Idjits McCain, Lindsey, Ayotte and Collins to have at her. So during the SoS confirmation…….nothing left or any surprises left. That is a brilliant idea. A tip off and of my hat to Amb Rice!

She is knocking off any more hug media attention when McCain and co would love to be over the top……during SoS confirmation…..making a spectacle of himself. Remember the 2009 or so ACA 8 hour “symposium” where McCain tried to one-up pres Obama and pres Obama had to tell him that the election was over? Chips posted it today, come to think of it.

He played in the show ‘In Living Colour” It was a great program already with the Wayans brothers and when Jamie joined the team along with Jim Carrey it was an hour of laughs, straight up.

Pres Obama had about 68-70% of the Jewish votes. 71% of the Latino/Hispanic votes. 73% of the Asian American Votes. 85% of the Muslim Votes. 96% of the African American Votes. 39% of the White votes. Now and every American in between. Yes. yes, and each day, the Victory becomes sweeter for the votes keeps going up.

Is it any wonder that Fox, the right are still in denial? Yes. And I am loving every freaking minute of it.

Good Evenin’ All: Seems like everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. I did as well and so so today, I was back on the diet and at the gym after work. Unfortunately, diet & exercising never really ends. LOL

Anyways, I am posting because I have something to share. Rep Alan Grayson was on Ed Schultz radio show today. As some of you know, I don’t like the Edster and his station was on my Ipad when I returned from lunch. Anyways, before I could tap to another channel, Alan Grayson comes on. So I am listening along. Towards the end of the conversation, Grayson states that he won his district by 23% because he ran ads that stated his opponent wanted to cut SS, raise the retirement age, etc. PBO did not state those things and only won by 2%. Well, let me tell you that I went off. Good thing my office door was closed. How dare he? He cant get re-elected unless PBO is on the top of the ticket. Plus, It is unfair to think his district is equivalent to the entire US. The nerve of that fat faced fuck. I will send an email to him. Right now, his email at house.gov is disabled because he can’t get re-elcted on his own record. These ‘faux progressives’ are quite arrogant. I went to his website and he is trying to raise $50K before 12/31. To date, he has raised $2021. Go figure. He cant even raise funds without PBO. I am going to continue searching because I am really upset about his words. They keep talking about ‘holding PBO accountable’ but what about themselves. Oh, I so mad at him!!

LDS, I agree about the American Voters being Person of the Year. I agree, despite how hard the Republicans tried to keep us from voting. People got out there, stood in line for hours and hours just to vote.

Thanks, Anniebelle. There were so many behind the scene sacrifices that we will never read or know about because a lot of people just felt it was the right thing to do. It was for so many reasons, for so many people. It was just so personal. I personally felt connected to every one of the 47% Mitt was going to leave out. it was no longer about just me and my concerns. I was concerned about the rest of The outcast, the rejects. It was insulting. So I dug deeper for $5 more for them.

But we stood proudly together on Nov. 6th and made a difference. I went to bed feeling like a kid again on Christmas day when you have opened all your presents. The day has finally come to a close, you are peaceful. You do not have to wait for sleep. It meets you there in your warm bed. You want to dream, but the peace overtakes you because…..it is well. We were on one accord. We dares to believe and got the work done.

I am so grateful to the voters of this country who showed up, stood in line, some for hours, were unswayed by the Voter ID and personal stonewalling tactics used by some precincts &/or voting volunteers, by gerrymandering the districts and trying to keep them down.

I’m proud of everyone who said or did something to wake people up to the elitism, lack of empathy, racism of the GOP. Thank God there were enough people who could see through the bull shit slung by the likes of Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, Alan West, Karl Rove, Sheldon Adelson & the lot.

We dodged a bullet BIG TIME.
