Chat away, but don’t forget to vote – especially if you don’t like snow. You’re being Romneyised so far.
Hi @Pfeiffer44 Boehner made 2 major errors in Aug 2011. He voted FOR sequester & he thought PBO would be defeated. Boehner got 98% of ZERO.— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) December 05, 2012

Let's get this straight, Rubio voted against persons with disabilities today. Period. Oh, please GOP, nominate him in 2016. cc @SenatorReid— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) December 05, 2012
Bravo TRUTH TELLER! Bob, iIn my book, you one of the most valuable person on twitter. I bet you all the “newstainers” and the “emoprogs” who, in August 2011, accused the President for “caving in” to the the GOP dare not show their faces. The man who gloated about getting 98% of what he wanted is the one who is now crying about what he got. Boehner, Cantor, Ryan, McConnell, etc. — along with the media and the professional left — did not count on alert people like you, who are not afflicted with short term memory loss, calling out their BS!
Very kind of you, nath. It’s become clear to me that at least 65+ Million Americans have at least as much a clue as I do. Now, we all must do everything we can, to bring along the other ~ 240+ Million. That’s all our task if we wish to create a sustainable, empathetic future for the young and those yet to be born. That is all I focus on, every day, in my full-time endeavors and what I try to contribute more publicly via Twitter and here. Your support and encouragement mean a lot. Thank you.
I’m just now seeing this, and saying ~yes yes yes~ this is our work. “This is our work if we wish to create a sustainable,
empathetic future for the young and those yet to be born.” I encourage not only you, Bobfr; I encourage all.of.us.
It’s going to take all.of.us. We have seen that. And we need good leaders amongst ourselves. Bobfr, you and Chips and
several others here . . . . we select ourselves to be leader . . . yes. And I say we will be served by coming from deep commitments
to people in the world and a love of this life.
Training, I tell ya! Also I”m on the computer doing my grades and I get an email pop-up…so there is that. I have found that if I click on it right away and then the post title and then the comments I can sometimes do it. Otherwise i have no chance!
The GOP disgraced themselves again today. Please tell me if the treaty can be voted on again next year with the new Senate? I don’t the rules of such things.
THANK YOU, LL. Excellent writing. Do we know anything about how wide the readership of ThePeople’s View?
And can you tell where all your articles go? We need them all over the place.
Bobfr,Just when I think I couldn’t stand the Republicans anymore, they show me that yes I can. Ronald Reagen could have been wheel in there and those Republicans would have voted the same way. They are a disgrace.
I am sorry to say, but these Republicans are pure, pure, evil! They are also utterly ignorant! The United States already ratified the U.N. Charter. If the U.N. was intent on taking over U.S. sovereignty, it sure wouldn’t chose a treaty on disabilities. To some how argue that ratifying an International Treaty aimed at protecting disabled persons means the loss of U.S. sovereignty is the height of despicable ignorance. It’s really a shame that many of the GOP Senators who voted against this treaty earned law degrees.
“It’s really a shame that many of the GOP Senators who voted against this treaty earned law degrees.”
Nath, I question whether they did. But, one thing is obvious, they have rejected the epistemological and ethical foundations of the law as evidenced by their action, today.
You are absolutely right in questioning the validity of their law degrees. I also agree with you that even if they may have law degrees their action to day revealed that they are depraved human beings who have no ethics. Otherwise why tell a lie that the treaty to protect disabled people takes away U.S. sovereignty. The sad thing is that these morally depraved people wield enormous political power. Their action today brought shame to our entire country. How do we explain to the entire world that a minority of 38 Senators thumbed their middle fingers at the will of the majority of their fellow Senators, and the will of the majority of nations that make up the United Nations? But even more important, what sort of message did their cruel and heartless action send to all the people in the U.S. with disabilities, including the brave men and women severely injured in wars? These were the men and women who were today represented by former Senator, also former Senate majority leader and GOP Presidential nominee, Bob Dole. I hate to resort to religious terms, but, as far as I am concerned, these 38 GOP Senators, who voted against a treaty to affirm and protect the rights of disabled people, are pure evil.
I would love to hear what Bob Dole and his wife think about todays GOP. This is a sad day for Americans, they might as well spat in Senator Doles face after casting their heartless votes. Soulless, but their a-holes seem to work.
Whoa….Lawrence is in tears about the vote against disability ratification. He really brought it home how disgraceful today’s vote was. Especially with Bob Dole watching. There is no moderate republican. They’re all heartless, soulless jerks.
Apparently Rick Santorum brought his disabled daughter to the Senate today in order to LIE and say this treaty would tell him how to parent. He behaves despicably. They all do.
They’re not necessarily heartless, they are stupid, not informed, and paranoid. Historically, the sickness was confined to a fringe. But now it’s affecting a good portion of the republican party. And this is scary.
Nope. They’re heartless. This is not about stupidity or not being informed. They read the bill. They know what’s in the bill. This is not a time to make excuses for them. This is a treaty dealing with disability. They’re heartless, soulless cretins.

I have said this before and I will say it again, I don’t want to hear anything about Hillary running for President in 2016. So I turn the channel whenever they start talking.
The truth is that they will kill Hillary’s nomination before it ever begins, with this nonsense of prophesying the 2016 race before we’ve even inaugurated President Obama for a second term. The other truth is that I was deeply disappointed by Hillary’s lukewarm, lackluster defense of Susan Rice when she was unfairly attacked by the lunatics in McCain’s cabal. And the fact that she’s a party to this 2016 nonsense right now – before her boss has been re-inaugurated – it’s distasteful. That video of her being lauded by Netanyahu and war-criminal Tony Blair – she’s surrounded by all the wrong people. The whole thing just leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.
People don’t like being told who they’re supposed to vote for – look at what happened to Willard. While Hillary is no Willard (i.e. she’s actually capable), the media has created an inevitability that will certainly rub people the wrong way. And, President Obama is going to be a hard act to follow for anyone – even though the media seems intent on pretending that he doesn’t exist over these next four years. 50%+ of the country believes otherwise.
You speak truth, Theo! Personally, I don’t want to hear anything about the inevitable next President before we have inaugurated the President who just won re-election.That aside, I hope that in 2016, Hillary Clinton will not take my vote for granted. Right now I am squarely in Joe Biden’s camp because I am convinced that he will carry FORWARD President Obama’s agenda. He has also demonstrated his depth and commitment to improving the lives of ordinary people. Besides Joe Biden, I am also impressed with governors Martin O’Malley and Duval Patrick should they decide to run. As much as I respect SoS Hillary Clinton, and the great job she has done in that position, I still have bad taste in my mouth about some of her supporters who have, from time to time, done everything possible to undermine President Obama.
I was beginning to think I was all alone in thinking that that little celebration of a very gleeful Hillary at the Saban center complete with effusive tributes from some of President Obama’s most vocal and vicious attackers, was quite bizarre and incredibly tone deaf…
Also very inappropriate, jarring and rather shortsighted and politically unsavvy in her role as Secretary of State to publicly delight in being talked-up and flattered by some of the vilest foreign and domestic enemies of the President you still serve…
Netanyahu, John McCain etc…
John McCain who is currently engaged in a very public and malicious witch hunt against the UN Ambassador and President Obama ironically over a matter that ought to be directed at Hillary and the CIA but in which he and others have curiously absolved her while still persisting in their pointed attacks on Susan Rice and President Obama…
Netanyahu who as we speak has in defiance of the UN and the US ordered the construction of thousands of new homes in Jewish Settlements…
How is this tacky, self-serving behavior by Hillary Clinton considered kosher or consistent with that of a true and reliable partner of a President who has been incredibly magnanimous to her…
I fully agree about the distasteful display by those who have undermined POTUS. Don’t forget that McCain and HRC have been close friends for a long time.
My blood pressure is rising again reading your comment. It really is inappropriate, and tarnishes the lovely image I had of Hillary having put bygones aside. This fawning event that happened over the weekend, and her refusal to shield Amb. Rice from these ridiculous attacks, have left a very bad taste in my mouth and eroded a lot of the goodwill that I had for Hillary. I’m going to watch and wait.
It bothers me a lot, also. It seems they would like to pretend that the next four years don’t count and all that matters is what comes next. We at TOD know better.
You know, during the campaign I thought that R’s lived in an alternate universe b/c they were racist and not the brightest bulbs on the tree but they REALLY, REALLY, REALLY do live in an alternate universe….For Real…How the hell anyone finds any common ground with them is beyond me…..Good Night…love the snow!
Nath,
They are not pretending to be Christians. They are quite revealing who they are. A bunch of hateful beings. They vote for war and some of our service people are maimed for life. They feel so smug and their disgustful thinking is so vile. Taking care of and looking after the least of them is the Christian work. Do those repubs understand that health issues leave many people with disabilities. They have shown us who they are. A bunch of heartless thugs.

Good Nite Chips and my TOD family. Goodnight to our Fred.(((((( Much Comforting Love, Fred))))))))). Also, much love to our Jackie and sister.((((((((( Comforting arms surrounding you both)))))))))).
I love that photo of POB sitting there. I used that photo for my Grassroots FR page. It has so many memories in so many ways for my life.
You know something, TOD family? We have a beautiful Angel of Love, our Chips. We have a beautiful and loving, fun, brilliant, and caring POTUS.
Lots of love to FLOTUS, First Daughters, VPOTUS, and Dr. Biden. Do not forget to put an ornament or light a candle for our military men and women serving us and will not be able to be here with their families.
So much to be so grateful for in our nation with POB in the Oval Office.
I have a computer technical question , but I will ask it tomorrow. I need help. Sleepy tonight. Shout out to Miss Pat tonight.
I love my TOD family so much.(((((((((((((((((( Be good ))))))))))))))))))) I hope Desertflower is having a lovely time with her parents during her visit. Goodnight all. HZ
Dearest HZ with your great and loving heart. My sister is finally out of the ICU and in a regular hospital bed, thanks, I truly believe, to the prayers and good wishes of wonderful people like you. When she’s fully stabilized, she will go to a transition nursing home and then to her daughter’s home for recovery. We have come from near death to the hope of health in a little over a week. Quite an emotional cycle for all of us. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support.
Amk, you would think that with these kinds of figures the R’s would get a clue, would you? But that bubble they live in has walls of steel. Nothing penetrates its density, least of all common sense or truth.
Don’t hate me, snowflake lovers, but the snow is making my whole computer jump—–almost literally—–flashing, flashing, worst storm ever, cruel and inhumane punishment. Protesting snow. Carrying a sign, marching—-Stop The Snow!
May I show you are forecast for this morning in our small WY newspaper…
Tonight will be mostly sunny, with a high near 48 degrees and a south wind between 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. The overnight low will be around 35 degrees with a southwest wind between 10 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
You have to have a sense of humor to live here! Someone posted “do I now live in Alaska”?
I don’t mean to rub salt in the wound, but they claimed it was in the low 70′s tonight here in LA, although there were clouds and mist at the ocean. I did put the (gas) fireplace on tonight, in honor of the snow…
I’ve been out all day in my world & have just browsed the last 3 posts from Chips – so 2 comments
1. I voted as amk – now why I said I was amk is weird cause I’m not – but I live in a snowless world – so I hope that is what I conveyed. Interesting that there are 13 amks around at the minute
2. If someone can explain to me what homeschooling has to do with rights for the disabled I would be most impressed – otherwise I agree with Charles Pierce – the republican party is way past redemption – it is enough to make me want to believe in a higher being so he explains it to them all in the next world they visit. Who votes for these insane people is the scarey part!
aloha 99. i’ve been watching for that explanation too. i’m guessing the u.n. wants children with disabilities to have the right to play and gather and learn with other children, and not be sequestered at home.
Ah – that makes sense – disabled children may be taught about reality rather than God made you this way so your parents can be martyrs and keep you dumb and stupid for their political purpose.
It is so sad that they won’t even support those who were wounded in battle while serving their country – the last four years of the GOP have seen massive anti American actions designed to defeat a President. Even veterans and disabled children are part of that action.

This video, which illustrates just how effectively the 1% dropped this country to its knees has obviously struck a raw nerve with the folks at FoxNews. They are attempting to do some pre-emptive strikes because they know it will be watched and understood by the typical FoxNews viewer. Hannity was about to jump out of his skin over it, pulling segments of it to attack. But he is only going to bring more attention to it and more FoxNews viewers are going to watch it and understand just exactly how the 1% took control of the country’s wealth…. including how buying up media outlets and news organizations in order to spread the message of the obscenely-wealthy has contributed to it all. (cough… FoxNews.. cough)
No wonder they are afraid.
FoxNews viewers will actually understand it.
It’s a cartoon, afterall.

Tax the rich: An animated fairy tale, is narrated by Ed Asner, with animation by Mike Konopacki. Written and directed by Fred Glass for the California Federation of Teachers. An 8 minute video about how we arrived at this moment of poorly funded public services and widening economic inequality. Things go downhill in a happy and prosperous land after the rich decide they don’t want to pay taxes anymore. They tell the people that there is no alternative, but the people aren’t so sure. This land bears a startling resemblance to our land. For more info, http://www.cft.org.

They feel so smug and their disgustful thinking is so vile. Taking care of and looking after the least of them is the Christian work. Do those repubs understand that health issues leave many people with disabilities. They have shown us who they are. A bunch of heartless thugs.
rikyrah, I agree.
Menu for tonight:
Andouille sausage, broiled to within an inch of its life
Roasted red potatoes
Orange bell pepper and zucchini sauteed with minced garlic
And i’m about to have my second gimlet
You didn’t invite anybody? I jealous, damn.
PF, I just wrote a scathing letter to Pat Toomey and told him he had shamed the state with his bigotry and paranoia. Let’s get every Pennsylvanian we know to contact his office and express our disgust.
yesssssssss jackie…the President won our state by 11 points…but because of redistricting…most of the folks who were elected were Rs….
we have to find a way to connect with their constinuencies …esp if the Rs vote against the middle class tax cuts…
Good night all! What a day this has been, feels like it has been a week long! Sweet dreams TOD! {{{{{Chipsticks}}}}} {{{{{PBO}}}}}

Thanks for sharing. Great background.
Morning TOD. Jackie, I’m so glad to know your sister is getting better. Prayers do work. Stay strong.
Amk, you would think that with these kinds of figures the R’s would get a clue, would you? But that bubble they live in has walls of steel. Nothing penetrates its density, least of all common sense or truth.
Off to re-generate! Goodnight Family!
Ta-ta 9t9.
Also, too, seriously horrid people – self interest extraordinaire – surely there are some disable people in the states that vote for these imbeciles.
gop= gathering of poop (and they stink too)
Don’t hate me, snowflake lovers, but the snow is making my whole computer jump—–almost literally—–flashing, flashing, worst storm ever, cruel and inhumane punishment.
Oh, we can take. The wind does make us a little crazy, I’m told.
I agree. Please stop the snow. The bottom and side bars are flickering like crazy.
For some reason my computer doesn’t like the snow. I can’t refresh the page. Anyone else having trouble
Time for some rest. Take care everyone …
Please, Chips stop the snow; or tell me how to stop the flickering. It is very hard on my brain/eyes. (I had a stroke 5 years ago)
Yeah, it’s getting kinda migrainey.
is this the greatest hoodie ever made? made in san francisco usa, and an interesting read, for sure:

now i’m toddling off to bed. see you tods tomorrow~
GREAT story. I’m disappointed they don’t make them for women!
me too– i searched and searched their site, but no. maybe they think women won’t wear a 30 year old sweatshirt! hah!
Chips, I voted for the snow. But I think if it affects people’s ability to read TOD, we better switch it off. love you. xoxox
Love this, Mary. Thank you. RT’d.
Morning Friends!
dudette, there are two sets of people, one with some common sense. And one with no dam sense. We all know which group those right wingnuts fall into.
Please help this video go viral!
—————
Frankly, it makes a point and it sure is a powerful one.

Video caption
Tax the rich: An animated fairy tale, is narrated by Ed Asner, with animation by Mike Konopacki. Written and directed by Fred Glass for the California Federation of Teachers. An 8 minute video about how we arrived at this moment of poorly funded public services and widening economic inequality. Things go downhill in a happy and prosperous land after the rich decide they don’t want to pay taxes anymore. They tell the people that there is no alternative, but the people aren’t so sure. This land bears a startling resemblance to our land. For more info, http://www.cft.org.
Brilliant, freaking brilliant! Ed Anser, fantastic voice over…
ADP says 118k workers added in November. Considering Sandy, that number is great!
