Before I go Lawrence O’Donnell was talking about FLOTUS running for political office. South Carolina Congressman Jim Clayburn spoke so highly of FLOTUS and he wish she would run. But I don’t think FLOTUS want anything to do with politics and I don’t blame her. She have seen first hand all the B.S. her husband has had to deal with.

She has seen how nasty, two faced, and lazy the GOP are and she never was interested in politiics. After eight years and doing a wonderful job as first lady, she paid her dues and then some for this country……enough. She deserves to spending her time with Sasha who will be entering high school when they leave office and Malia going off to college. I wouldn’t be surprised if they stayed in the D.C. area so that Sasha can finish high school with the friends she made.

I hadn’t thought about them staying in D.C. but you’re right they may do it for Sasha but I’d want to get out of that town as soon as possible. I would love for them to come back to Chicago but I wonder if it would be difficult trying to stay in the same area at their current home. I remember a news report when someone asked Michelle about it a couple of years ago and she seemed noncommittal

0388jojothecat, I agree, FLOTUS has seen how nasty, two faced, racists, the GOP are, and I for one don’t blame her for not wanting to bother with politics. Not one bit.

A man has a heart attack and is brought to the hospital emergency room. The doctor tells him that he will not live unless he has a heart transplant right away. Another doctor runs into the room and says, “you’re in luck, two hearts just became available, so you will get to choose which one you want. One belongs to lawyer and the other to a social worker”.

The man quickly responds, “the lawyer’s”.

The doctor says, “Wait! Don’t you want to know a little about them before you make your decision?”

The man says, “I already know enough. We all know that social workers are bleeding hearts and the lawyer has probably never used his. So I’ll take the attorney’s!”

Yes, I just saw it JoJo. And thanks so much for sharing it with our TOD family, maryl. I am going to just cry again. Our TOD family is so beautiful, generous, and thoughtful. What a very generous kindness maryl.

Tomorrow, I am going to get the ingredients that I do not have as of this writing, and I will be making some tomorrow night. (((((((((((((((((( Lots of love and warm hugs to you, maryl. You are so wonderful. I will post how mine turns out. I can just taste it at this very moment.

(((((((((((((((((( I love you all so much. You all give me so much joy, and kindness as I travel this journey with all of you.))))))))))))))))))) I know that our POTUS is so proud of our TOD family because when other were making fun and unkind remarks about”a community organizer,” that was so painful to many and so many others because I know how he gave so much to others when he started out assisting lovingly in those communities to bring Hope, joy, love, and a better life for so many people simply by trying to organize within that community. He really did not have to do that, but that is who he is, a man of pure and loving unselfish love and hope for making things better for others and doing his best to get there.

This beautiful haven that our beautiful Chips started has done the same things for all of us. We have doctors, teachers, professors, nurses, accountants, psychologists, Mds., attorneys, mayors, pastors, policemen and policewomen, CEOs, , and the list goes on and on, but so many went on and helped organized within their communities and ‘awaken and gave birth’ to many great things for beautiful people all over this nation. And when one gives back so much, it fills ‘the walls around that center core’ and we become a glorious work of “human art” that is so lovely to look at in our lives. We have gone on to making many beautiful canvases of beautiful “Hope of Life” that changed the world forever, with President Barack H. Obama. What a gift to daily open up and enjoy its marvelous goodness in our lives.

So maryl, when I make and partake of my Christmas Eggnog, I will think of our beautiful and brilliant loving “Community Organizer” who went on to take his humbleness to become the leader of the Free World, our President and brought together beautiful spirits like yours, maryl. (((((((( Thank you, Maryl and JOJO.)))) HZ

We are a loving part of all those good deeds that he sowed during his walking those streets on the Southside of Chicago. He gave birth to all of us in his thoughts of all of that hard work, and those Hopes, and Dreams. “Dream Big Dreams.” President Barack Obama 44th President of these United States.

Michigan is now a right to work state. Our bastard legislators rammed the bill through with no discussion after locking protestors out of the capital building. I am devastated.

    • December 6, 2012 at 11:28 pm

Mary, it won’t stand. All those nuts did was further galvanize support to drive them from office.

      • December 6, 2012 at 11:39 pm

Thanks for your comfort, Bob. I am beyond devastated by this. I really, really hope you’re right. You may be right because this bill affects more than just teachers. Few will stand up for teachers. We tried this summer with a recall Snyder petition – did n’t get on the ballot. This will have to be another referendum. We did get the first Emergency Financial Manager law repealed but they are preparing to pass one just like it. They have horrible bills lined up to kill public schools. I am not usually this down. I do have faith but this is very hard. This is like waking up Nov. 7th and finding out that Romney is president. I am tired of being bashed and blamed. They’re like that mythical creature that grew two heads for every one cut off. I am just tired.

NPR did a segment tonight about some police department in New Jersey that is planning to fire all it’s police and then bust up their union and rehire less than half of the police force – replacing them with people who will take less benefits. I couldn’t help but wonder how many of these people voted for their Republican governor, Republican councilmen/women, Republican everything. This is what the Republicans do. And they’ve been plotting this for 40 years.

I also saw the Koch brothers were interviewed by Forbes, and they said they plan to “do this” until they stop breathing. They will be going after every election, every campaign, every presidential race to further their diabolical agenda. This fight will be going on for a very long time.

God help us now! They have too many right wingers in local government and in governor’s mansions – and they are intent on enacting as much damage as they possibly can!

          • December 7, 2012 at 8:53 am

This is their plan – if they cannot get the Federal office, they will get the states and that is what they are focusing on now. Wisconsin just went all GOP again this last election and we are right back where we started two years ago. Beginning in January we can expect voter registration laws and right to work to be pushed through here as well. We have to hope that these laws can be rescinded once the population realizes how they are going to affect everyone of us.

Hi everyone. Chips, you are AWESOME!!! You bring tears to my eyes with these wonderful pictures of our beautiful First Family. I don’t post often because so many brilliant people here post such great information. I’m busy learning from all of you! But, today, I want to plead with all you great North Carolina folks to write to Kay Hagen about the Bush era tax cuts. On the 19th we will have a media event outside her office to deliver a stack of letters. Make yours one of them! It can be short and simple, just stating how a tax increase will impact your family. You can mention that if she has the President’s back, we will have her back in 2014. You can get some more ideas from http://www.theaction.org/ Some of you may have been on the conference call with Greg Jackson tonight and have other contacts to send your letters to, but, if not, send to Ashley Blue at ashkashblue@gmail.com. It’s exciting to be working for the President again!

      • 78 anniebella
        December 7, 2012 at 6:43 am

If the Bush tax cuts were all that great, wouldn’t Bush had created more than 2 or 3 million jobs the eight years he was in office. I mean I don’t know the exact numbers, but I know that POTUS has created over 5 million in the four years of this tough economy, more than what Bush did in eight years.. And what has the Republicans done to help? Anyone remember the jobs bill the President wanted pass that is dusting away in the House. I don’t care to hear a dam thing the Republicans have to say about jobs, when 2010 Boehner promised he was going to focus on jobs, jobs, jobs, and he hasn’t done a dam thing about jobs, except worry about keeping his. I believe this economy would have been much stronger if the racists nasty Republicans had help, instead of sabotage, obstruct.

Under his (mcconell’s) plan, the president would request a hike in the debt ceiling (to pay the bills already accrued by Congress!) and then Congress would have a chance to disapprove. If Congress did so, the president could veto the measure, and the debt ceiling would be raised. Only if Congress mustered a veto-overriding two-thirds majority could it block the president from lifting the debt ceiling. With this provision, McConnell offered his fellow GOPers an escape route: They could vote against raising the debt ceiling without bearing the responsibility for triggering a financial panic. And that’s what the tea partiers did.

Now Obama is saying that what was good enough for that near-crisis is all right by him for the next debt ceiling showdown. He and Geithner are proposing to extend the McConnell Provision to cover the pending debt ceiling tussle, which could come within weeks, and future ones. “[T]he virtue of that mechanism proposed by Sen. McConnell, a man of impeccable conservative credentials, is to make sure that the country is not left at risk of periodic threats of default,” Geithner said on Meet the Press, laying it on thick. “It’s a very good idea. It was a Republican idea. And we’re suggesting they extend it.” A subsequent posting on the Treasury Department’s blog noted that adopting this idea would “remove politics from future debt limit debates, while preserving Congress’ essential role in spending revenue, and borrowing decisions.”

The public comments from Geithner, Treasury, and the president do not fully reflect how passionate Obama is on this matter. “He really means it,” a senior administration official insists. And Obama’s top aides have seen him in private display fervor regarding this issue. During a meeting with his senior aides in the middle of the prolonged and heated negotiations in the summer of 2011, Obama let them know that he believed the debt ceiling face-off was in part a fight to save his presidency and those of future chief executives.

HEADLINE: Obama pushes ahead with high-speed rail plan

// Undaunted by the looming fiscal crisis, the Obama administration said Thursday that it plans to forge ahead with its signature transportation project, investing billions of dollars in a long-term effort to build a high-speed rail network. “We’re not giving up on high-speed rail,” Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood testified before a congressional committee. “The president will include funding in his budget. I think we’ll get there with public money, but in the absence of that we’ll get there with private money.”

LaHood’s testimony was welcomed by a majority of members who attended the House Transportation Committee hearing, including a number of Republicans who have expressed varying degrees of skepticism about high-speed rail in the past. //

This week’s lesson in unexpected cultural protests: If nationally franchised department stores cast anyone but stridently heterosexual celebrity spokespeople, they’ll apparently be in serious trouble with some conservative groups. Or at least that’s what JC Penney’s putting up with yet again, on account of its ongoing relationship with Ellen DeGeneres.

Shortly after Thanksgiving, the company debuted its latest holiday commercial starring the comedian and talk-show host. And if the harmless 30-second spot could be accused of any transgression, it’d be corny punchlines at the expense of helpless elves. But according to a recent website update from One Million Moms (a group affiliated with conservative media watchdog American Family Association), “JCP has made their choice to offend a huge majority of their customers again,” before decreeing, “Christians must now vote with their wallets…” [more in the article]

[Btw, the article also has the great video of Ellen's "my haters are my motivators" remarks when they complained about her being JCP spokesperson in February. You'd LOVE it! Go Ellen!]

Just a thought though: A RED hoodie? Come on, doesn’t that scream “Look at me, I’m over here, hey, look at meeeee”? Something’s up! Just sayin’… :-D
