Thanks Bobfr. I love retweeting your tweets because you write so many amazing ones. Thanks for your great talent at being so concise and writing so exactly what we are all thinking.
SO glad they’re on their way finally. I so hope they all get the rest they need and have a wonderful Christmas together. PBO has so often said those family times are the times that give him perspective and keep him sane, and I’m sure he’s sorely in need of that after this last week.
I hope they have a WONDERFUL vacation!! He’s left Boehner and those intractable Tea Pottiers to stew in their own brew, and no one deserves it more than they do. And, as for Wayne “the stone”… Nothing to say…
There is snow on Mauna Kea, but I don’t think they will be climbing up there to slide in it! Fabulous Chipsticks, that is your new name around here! Aloha!
Hullo, Dahling! I wrote a lovely comment earlier, (IMHO), reminded you that around here your name is always Fabulous Chipsticks, mentioned how as soon as the First Family boarded for Hawaii, I kept my promise and packed up the life size cutout of PBO which has been living here since July. Well, this lovely and well written comment vamoosed, I have no clue what happened to it, what I did or did not do, but iPad went all squirrely, and my comment was g.o.n.e. Anyway, that’s why I remarked on the snow.
Have I ever told you my story of a winter ascent of Mauna LOA (back when it still had a summit) in February of ’79? Well, it is true ~ we climbed all day, snow line was at 10,000 feet. We kept on as a storm blew up all around us, fantastic, looked right down into the cauldera as night was closing. Made the summit cabin a few minutes after the Park Service helicopter flew over to mark our co-ordnates (I guess in case they had to come looking for us, god forbid, later). Anyway, this is not a short story, but we spent one night and one day in a white out in the summit cabin, reading ghost stories. Second morning, the clouds lifted and we inked out and down, incredible snow all around, felt like we could see for hundreds of miles in every direction. Ah, yes, snow in Hawaii. Fantastic! True story!
Indeed, it is one of those living memories, you know the kind that stay with you in the same energy form as when you were experiencing it. Never fades, never grows old or dim. Hey, that is how this era will be for all of us, The Age of Obama. Living, breathing pure energy, so incredible to be alive and to witness. Along with all of you lovely people, no matter we have never met, or may ever meet. No matter, it is the pure energy of the mind which sustains us.
Pamela – Aren’t you also glad many of us, including my friend-for-life CanadaBarb, came over together from OFA (aka troll village) to become part of the TOD family?
Indeed, JO’B, indeed I am! At first I was captured because Chips had the most incredible photos, and really FAST! Then I saw YOU, and I knew, okay, I knew for sure, here was a place for me. I didn’t really comment much on the earlier OFA blog, and folks were easily pulled off focus, but not here. I’m browsing today, finding I missed a lot last night, but I woke up thinking about you, in particular, and how much you being here mattered. Then I got to know our Chips…… I was in! Seems lifetimes ago, eh?
Pamela – I’m just getting back here. How very sweet to see this, and right back atcha! Kindred spirits, eh? And that includes our Chips and the others. Have a wonderful evening.
Don’t forget I live in Seattle…. In fact about 10 blocks from where little Billy Gates was born and raised, and in Seattle, Microsoft is, well, Microsoft.
I just love this place! You are all so bright, so funny, so using your critical thinking skills. I just love coming here and reading all the wonderful insight and positive ness. There are only two true emotions. Love and fear. And TOD lives in love. Merry Christmas to all!
Oh now, lb4Obama, that is just so nice! You must be so nice, too, and thus, you very likely belong right here, safe and sound (hmmmm)( let me think that over) Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Nice pictures, Chips. Beautiful decorations. What a wonderful way to end a very emotional week!
I pray that the First Family will enjoy their vacation without any interruptions here or abroad.
I pray for PEACE on Earth, in our homes, our workplace, the places we worship,or don’t…..most of all peace in our hearts to get us through the next four years……one year at a time.

Thanks Chips for making this a wonderful place to be. We all have been on a very serious journey alongside our wonderful president these last few days, so this is another day to give thanks that we are seeing them finally being able to get out of Washington, DC and hopefully have a wonderful Christmas.
I am so grateful that we POB in the Oval Office and VP Biden alongside him. We are very blessed to have them as our leaders as we have had to shed our tears from our torn spirits of so much that came at us, it seems all at once.
I am lying low to try to bring back into my spirit and my space the energies that will take me to a place where I can be so grateful for life, family, and all of you. The pause has brought all of us to take a breath and regroup, and being here gives us the opportunity to be kind, gentle, and respectful of each other.
So it is with great appreciation and gratefulness Chips, I say with all of my heart, “Thank you my special angel.” (((((((((((((((((((((((( My TOD Family, let us give thanks for each other.)))))))))))))))))))))
HOLA y ALOHA!!!! (See what I did there?) Hey, so does anyone know about this: The President is HUGELY popular in his home state, we all know that. But there’s a Hollywood reporter (I KNOW!) that insists that when he visits now, Hawaiians dread it because of the traffic problems caused when he moves around? I DOUBT THAT, but…. Is there a Aloha State TOD-er or someone that knows the truth about that?
hola, aloha, and mele kalikimaka! just got home, and i’m so glad to see the first family on their way to hawaii at last! they deserve it, they need it, and we are indeed thrilled that they will be here!!
oh, yes, there are a few rethugs, even in hawaii, sourpusses who complain about traffic delays when the presidential entourage is passing. most people are like us–glad the president and his family get to have a hawaii vacation. the reporters who travel with the president are busy looking for something negative to say, so they will find anyone with a gripe.
reading through the comments, i saw someone (jovie?) ask about which island the memorial for senator inouye is on. both the memorial (at punchbowl national cemetery) and the president’s vacation house are on the ‘main’ island, oahu. this is the island where honolulu and waikiki and pearl harbor and the seat of state government are also.
mauna kea, the big mountain which gets snow in the winter, is not on oahu island. it is on ‘my’ island, the big island, named hawaii island. sorry to say, we have no snow there yet this year, but it is raining, and cold up there, so maybe soon….!
and chips, thanks for the holiday decorations on the blog~ very festive with snow, and a handsome santa up top!
hey miss pat–you still up?
we only have snow on a couple of our tallest mountains (13-14k) but it’s glorious to see it up there from the warm, sunny beach!
Every time the President visits anywhere and I mean ANY President, it’s a mess in terms of traffic. Most people are excited about a presidential visit but there are always people who complain. The complainers tend to be in places where the President goes ALL the time — like NYC. In Hawaii, most people are thrilled when Obama comes home but you can always find a Grinch or two if you go looking for them.
Now see, there’s a man of infinite good taste – thank you Japa!!! I may ruin it all tomorrow by adding some tinsel, but I’ll wait to hear from PBO – if he likes it, it stays.
Or maybe he pulled some of his gangnam moves (which he will not show to us ) I bet he has got it d.o.w.n! And I bet that silver fox guy some of us ‘admire’, working out right beside him! WooHoo! Rockin it on AF1!
Is it just me or does POTUS look even more beautiful than usual? Hairstyle? Different makeup – I mean it looks like she just has on lip gloss, so maybe it is just the natural POTUS … she looks gorgeous. The girls do too. I see Malia striding along with her Dad and her posture, etc. .. and somehow I see her as an influential politician someday. Maybe that is just wishful thinking on my part.
I’ve noticed something different about Michelle, too. I think her hair is a little longer, and it makes her look even younger, but it could also just be that the stress of re-election has passed, and she’s breathing easier. In any case, she looks fantastic!
absolutely correct, magpie. we love our president, and our first family AND we are so proud and happy they choose to come here every year for christmas!
Dear @NancyPelosi we know Boehner will not be Speaker in the 113th. What we must make happens is You Are. Flip 17 Rs. #YesWeCan cc @vj44— Bobfr (@Our4thEstate) December 22, 2012
Thank you for this, Chips. The letter from Alice Walker spoke truth and I really think PBO has followed it during his presidency. He has taken strength and love from his family and that does show in his smile and in his eyes even when he’s exhausted and aggravated. This time away with his girls will give him a chance to “fill up” with all the goodness he needs to go back to the cauldron. Wish that time were longer.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO….FINALLY…THE FIRST FAMILY ESCAPES TO PARADISE….AND WHAT DOES BOEHNER GET?…LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL…A HEARTFELT CONVERSATION WITH A BARSTOOL……………YEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
You know, I’m fascinated with the changing faces of FLOTUS, all of them beautiful. I swear there are times when I have to look twice to be sure it’s her, like tonight as she walked beside Sasha and on the stairs with POTUS. She is one lovely lady, inside and out.
Isn’t it great how middle age changes mentally along with us? When I was a kid anyone over 20 was old, and 30s+ was really, really old. By the time I hit 30s ‘middle age’ had receded to 40s/50s, etc. etc.
I am sooo very happy to see PBO and family get away from the mad house in DC.
Chips, thanks for the beautiful pictures and Xmas decorations. Snow and all.
May the Divine guard and protect our First family and give them much needed peace and rest.
Jason Chaffetz, Lindsey Graham, and Wayne LaPierre join @davidgregory on #MTP this week. I'd rather get a root canal from a proctologist— Eric (@diggaduh) December 22, 2012
What an assortiment! The funny thing is that each of them, except fthe Jason Chaffetz guy I don’t know, deserves each other’s company. I’ll be streaming a movie on Amazon.com. No time for such nonsense.
Yay!!! The First Family and the First Pup got to go Hawaii for some much needed downtime. Double YAY!!!
I was sitting on the freeway earlier today (yes sitting, as the traffic here in LA is LEGENDARY) listening to our illustrious Prez’ statement on the fiscal cliff on the radio. When PBO said, “I will see you all next week”, I assumed that he meant that he wasn’t leaving DC. And I was PISSED to the highest level of PISSED-OSITY, cursing those MOFO Repugs loudly in my car. Eff Orange Man Boner, CAN’T-OR and the Turtle – how dare you effing mofos continue toNOT do your jobs and traipse off for the holidays while our President stays behind to do his job. Effing MF’ing jackwagons. Then I was just able to log on to TOD to see these wonderful pix. And All is right. Thanks Miz Chips for the pix AND the SNOW (me likey). The very existence of this site calmed down considerably (AGAIN). THANKS MIZ CHIPS. Happy Holidays TOD Peeps!
Happy Holidays & Safe travels Mr. President and First Family. Here’s some xmas traveling music….
That is such a great piece, thanks for posting it. It was a lovely accompaniment to my much neglected housework. Not very romantic I know, but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, right?
my pleasure. I’m actually cooking for the holiday wknd with this playing in the background and checking TOD in between chopping and dicing and sauteeing. Us TOD peeps know how to multi-task… amirite?
Great piece, purpleshoesla! It certainly takes you away from all foolishness in media/congress. Thanks for sharing. I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Thank you nath and to you as well. Here’s hoping it warms up some in So. Cal. It’s been a little chilly. I like my So Cal Christmases warm and sunny please.
Chips, I know you hear this a lot, but thanks so much for what you are given us. For all that you provide us, the simple words THANK YOU just doesn’t appear enough, but they are the most gracious words available that simply expresses our heart felt appreciation of you. Thanks again>> <3 <3 <3
I have every intention of seeing this movie. Listening to some of the actor interviews has made me convinced this is going to be a work of art – a classic! And the music for the musical is so beautiful. I’ve become a huge fan of Anne Hathaway, and I think she’ll be remarkable, along with many of the other actors. I can’t wait!
Absolutely. One of our family traditions is to go to the movies on Christmas Day. And my peeps are chomping at the bit to see this as we’re all big fans of this musical. I’ve seen the stage version several times. I saw the trailer for this when I went to see Lincoln and got chills from the little bit it showed of Anne Hathaway’s singing I Dreamed a Dream. Plus Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe? Oh HELL YES.

Why the heck did I decide to put up a 7ft Christmas tree this year??? I haven’t erected one since 1996… Boxes all over the living room; half the lights don’t work; can’t find the box with my favorite ornaments; etc, etc. Should have broke out the little 2ft table top trees…
.
Hi Ho, Alycee! We did the reverse this year! Wild! I usually do an 8′+ tree, but am so worn out this year, even the thought of all the boxes was overwhelming. So, for the first time ever, I got a little table top, it took about half an hour, and voila! It’s Christmas at my house, and I am thrilled! You will love that big old tree, tho, I’m sure, once you have stowed everything and can sit down with that glass of wine! Next year, I hope I can do a big tree again!
It’s snowing again, anyone seen my boots? And which TODobot is going to shovel it this time? I’m sure the doctor would say I’m not to over-extend myself were I to visit her.
Good night, lovely people! Thank you, Chipsticks, oh fabulous One! Safe arrival and welcome home, Mr. President! Enjoy the air, the sun, the birds, the flowers. The deep island sleep. We are watching over you, from afar.

Hello All! Chips, how much booze did you imbibe at your office party? You sounded too sober, at least in the view you gave! But the PBO santa hat up to & holly? Can you share what you drank, no hangover please?!
Thought I’d have some time today w/ TOD family, but ended up running around. All who’re coming to our home for the holidays asked (read that as nicely demanded!) if I would make my infamous goat curry. This is a 2-day process of love cooking! And, yep, had to run around to find just the right ingredients. Don’t ask for a recipe! It’s all about throwing things in the pot & hoping the goat is happy w/ the company!
I’ll spare you all the adventures in shopping at 10 different stores because you just can’t mess w/ Goat! I was so happy to try & catch up w/ you all in previous threads. Woot about HI! I’m so happy for First Family! Have to watch all the videos tomorrow/. Been hearing that Kerry was first choice all along. Seeing a lot of ads against Hagel on my TV. Haven’t yet figured out who’s putting those out. They are not nice. Will try to figure out who’s behind them. Couldn’t read the fine print fast enough this a.m. Seems like Bill Press was having a little egg on his face this morning. Quit putting on his show the last 2 weeks. Why piss off my day at sunrise?! Never saw so much crap as that NRA dood. Never said WTF so many times in so few minutes! Jeebus! They’re in the garbage disposal, aren’t they? Let’s flip the damn switch!
We had snow flurries earlier this afternoon. I only appreciate snow when it first falls, then I want it to get the heck out! I’m a tropical person, love warm, beautiful beaches, warm seas, etc. Get the picture? WARM! Even HOT, ok w/ HUMID too! Damn, where’s my own tropical island? And, Chips, do not send me a cheesy tropical island pic w/ one damn palm tree!
What a week. Thank goodness it’s over. Too bad the punditry isn’t screaming about all the good econ news the way they do when anythings drops 0.2 % -But to hell with them. I begin a 2 week vaca today and what better way to kick it off than with the HGTV Whitehouse Christmas behind the scene’s special -Enjoy
It’s late and I know that you all have been celebrating snowy things and First Family much needed and deserved trips to Hawaii….but this LOD piece about the vile, evil NRA enabler is a MUST SEE.
Thanks Desertflower for sharing this powerful piece by LOD! Lawrence O’Donnell delivered a powerful and righteous expose , and condemnation, of this evil man, Wayne LaPierre. I am glad you posted it at TOD because I would have missed it because I don’t watch cable shows regularly. Thank you for all the valuable information and thoughtful commentaries you share with us.
I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Thank you, nath:) Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you and your family, as well! Glad you liked this powerful piece by LOD. Sometimes, he just knocks it out of the park. Like this.
so glad the president and family arrived safely! now they have a drive (probably half hour to 45 min) to their beach house. it’s almost one a.m. so doubtful there will be more news tonight.
good night chips and tods!
The NRA wants a "database of the mentally ill." I'm helping them by taking photos of cars with Tea Party bumperstickers.— CJ Werleman (@rationalists) December 21, 2012
Can we put LiPierre at the head of that list? Then add the Republican Party. Maybe I shouldn’t say these things, but sometime it makes you wonder with what is going on.
Exactly——Repubs are refusing to budge on anything in negotiating with Obama because they are so extremely bitter because he beat them twice. And as one old Repub said, “They don’t have the sense that God gave a goose.” People like Joe Walsh are still there. But isn’t that embarrassing and juvenile beyond belief——throw a tantrum and refuse to play——stomping out and stomping home?
GM! The Tea Baggers are making a big mistake. First, they think they have a mandate, they are reading the Election wrong.
Second, blowing up the Government and hence the Economy, might be a death blow to the Republican Party.
Third, if the Republicans are thinking Gerrymandering will save them in 2014 then they are very inexperienced.
That’s it right there, they are all lone Wolves, willing to destroy the Federal Government at any cost.
That’s not where America is, even Sensible Republicans really really like their Hovernment checks and have aspired to the system all their lives. Once they realize the Tea Party is trying to destroy that, the Republican grass roots will revolt. Right now the only thing saving the Tea Party is Fox news, but if they continue down a line of blowing up the system, no news organization will be able to save them.
That is all!
So glad PBO finally gets a holiday!
Congrats on 1st Betsy and thank you for all the RTs!!
Thanks Bobfr. I love retweeting your tweets because you write so many amazing ones. Thanks for your great talent at being so concise and writing so exactly what we are all thinking.
I am glad they are heading to Hawaii.
Yup. Away from the madness in D.C.
Away from the snow………..
Happy Holidays, Mr President And First Family.
Amk, you have yet to praise my Xmassy decorations. Come on, come on.
You mean the one with everything is green theme ?
Excuse me, there’s only a splash of holly-ish green, methinks the whole thing ooooooozes class.
I was wondering if we were gonna get SCIC “Santa Claus In Chief” PBO this year. I like the holly too.
It’s starting to feel like Xmas…
What happened to my picture for being first Ms Chips??? You must be so busy…
SO glad they’re on their way finally. I so hope they all get the rest they need and have a wonderful Christmas together. PBO has so often said those family times are the times that give him perspective and keep him sane, and I’m sure he’s sorely in need of that after this last week.
Fabulous…so happy to see them leaving for a family vacation in Hawaii!
I hope they have a WONDERFUL vacation!! He’s left Boehner and those intractable Tea Pottiers to stew in their own brew, and no one deserves it more than they do. And, as for Wayne “the stone”… Nothing to say…
Didn’t see Bo! Hope he’s going, too…

Yes, Bo got on Air Force One before the family arrived at the airport. He looked very excited!
Glad to hear Bo went, can you imagine him running around the White House looking for FLOTUS, POTUS, Malia, Sasha.
I love the pictures of the First Family.
I’m glad he went with them, as well. He absolutely cannot be left at home alone for the holidays!
TOD Snow, Santa hat on President Obama, and lovely pictures to end the evening of a pretty eventful Friday. Thanks, Chips! You’ve outdone yourself.
You’re welcome Theo!! I’m not sure how appropriate snow is when the President is heading to Hawaii, but with climate change you just never know
There is snow on Mauna Kea, but I don’t think they will be climbing up there to slide in it! Fabulous Chipsticks, that is your new name around here! Aloha!
Ah ha, snow on Mauna Kea? Well, an entirely appropriate blizzard then! Hellooooooo Pamela!

They look beautiful And I’m Sooooo Proud Of All 4 Of Them. (Sorry, My Caps Kick In For Every Word When I Use My Phone!)
They’re gorgeous Anne, thank you so much for visiting and joining in!
I don’t like the way the snow suddenly changes direction, in a non-smooth way – it still makes me feel ill. I should have rigged that poll.
I thought it only changed direction based on your mouse movement?
Seriously Theo, did you think I didn’t know that?!?!
I know you’re all-knowing, Chips *cough, cough* – my remark was aimed at all the others who might not know…
Phew. I mean, come on Theo, like I wouldn’t have remembered that from last year??? Do you think I’m STUPID?!?!
What’s the emoticon for “lips are sealed”?
Not sure Theo, but this tune should do the trick:
That’ll work!! (brings back some memories, too)

‘those people’ Pamela … hmmmm wonder who
Lb4 – so glad to have you in the TOD community!

Personally I think Chips has done a great job decorating the site. Definitely a friendlier site than anywhere else on the intertubes.
In fact, my guess is that PBO will probably visit here on his way to Hawai’i.
Agree, japa – great site and he probably has already checked in at least once since wheels up
Now see, there’s a man of infinite good taste – thank you Japa!!! I may ruin it all tomorrow by adding some tinsel, but I’ll wait to hear from PBO – if he likes it, it stays.
Please God, no tinsel. If PBO just read that, he probably just came down with air sickness.
Finally…
May God bless and protect them and may the President and his lovely family have a wonderful, safe, healing, peaceful and renewing time..
Well said, Chi!
Hawaii here I come!!!
Oh baby!
LOL we all know he did that as soon as they got inside the plane….right after he told the pilot, “Get me the (bleep) outta here!”
Or maybe he pulled some of his gangnam moves (which he will not show to us
) I bet he has got it d.o.w.n! And I bet that silver fox guy some of us ‘admire’, working out right beside him! WooHoo! Rockin it on AF1!
What a cool GIF!! Love the Christmassy look of TOD!
I believe this dance occurred when he appeared on the Ellen show. You know when the guests are introduced they come out dancin’!
LOVE IT!!!!! And him, of course. And the snow in the “TOD air”!
Take that, boner!
Hi daisydem. Yes Michelle looks radiant, but I think you meant FLOTUS?
And POTUS ain’t no slouch either !!
I’ve noticed something different about Michelle, too. I think her hair is a little longer, and it makes her look even younger, but it could also just be that the stress of re-election has passed, and she’s breathing easier. In any case, she looks fantastic!
The picture of FLOTUS and Sasha is outstanding. They both look exceptionally glowing.
Just want to complain that the last snowflakes were party-poopers. They refused to dance when I shifted my cursor!
Huh, faulty cursor
This is dedicated to the hot daddy in the Santa hat! Merry Christmas, Santa Baby:
love this!
Susanne!!!! Please see my question above about Hawaiians and POB visits! Thanks.
aloha magpie
here’s a local news story that talks about the security ‘disruptions’ a bit:
http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/20389274/preparations-underway-for-obamas-hawaii-vacation
Sounds like it’s the small percentage of curmudgeonly refuggs (redundant) that have a problem with the visits. Most Hawaiins enjoy it.
absolutely correct, magpie. we love our president, and our first family AND we are so proud and happy they choose to come here every year for christmas!
Applause! YES!
This is lovely from SmartyPants:
http://immasmartypants.blogspot.ie/2012/12/mele-kalikimaka-mr-president.html
Hee Sue, you ARE bad!
And very, very good, all at the same time!
Have a happy restful vacation Mr. President, First Lady, Sasha & Malia ~ safe travels & Merry Christmas
Loving the Xmas decor Chips
You know, I’m fascinated with the changing faces of FLOTUS, all of them beautiful. I swear there are times when I have to look twice to be sure it’s her, like tonight as she walked beside Sasha and on the stairs with POTUS. She is one lovely lady, inside and out.
She is indeed, exquisite through and through
in every dimension of human expression. Our FLOTUS.
Good advice for those over 85 …
Isn’t it great how middle age changes mentally along with us? When I was a kid anyone over 20 was old, and 30s+ was really, really old. By the time I hit 30s ‘middle age’ had receded to 40s/50s, etc. etc.
And now middle age is…
Any age older than mine, Betsy. I’m a perpetual ‘young thing’, at least in my own mind.
As it should be.
I am sooo very happy to see PBO and family get away from the mad house in DC.
Chips, thanks for the beautiful pictures and Xmas decorations. Snow and all.
May the Divine guard and protect our First family and give them much needed peace and rest.
I don’t watch MTP.
What an assortiment! The funny thing is that each of them, except fthe Jason Chaffetz guy I don’t know, deserves each other’s company. I’ll be streaming a movie on Amazon.com. No time for such nonsense.
ROFL
Wonder why none of them wanted to go on last week – GOP crawling back out of the shelter to support the NRA perhaps
Absolutely!
Best tweet of the day!
Good evening, everyone.
Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy, prosperous New Year!
May God protect the First Family and this country. May He keep the Republicans closer to His chest.
My goodness, that family just warms my heart! I’m so happy they are able to get away from D.C. and have some relaxing time together.
Do you guys remember this?
Gorgeous, gorgeous family. The last photo of FLOTUS at the top of the steps – she’s exceptionally radiant.
Chips, I know you hear this a lot, but thanks so much for what you are given us. For all that you provide us, the simple words THANK YOU just doesn’t appear enough, but they are the most gracious words available that simply expresses our heart felt appreciation of you. Thanks again>> <3 <3 <3
I heartily agree! Cheers to Chips!
Remember that time wehen POTUS was stepping out of Air-1, but he forgot someone. He realize he had forgotten FLOTUS.
What is arrive time for the family in Hawaii?
they are due to arrive about 12:45 a.m. hawaii time, according to a local news source.
Hey ann, I do remember that and PBO’s reaction was so hilarious.
Guys!! We have to o see ‘Les Miserables’!!!!! It’s live singing!!
I love this musical, am going to see it with hubby on New Year’s Eve.
I also saw the trailer for Les Miserables at the Lincoln movie and I was blown away at how stunning it looks. I’m sure it will be a big hit.
I am so glad to see the First Family leave for the Christmas Holiday. The First Daughters are absolutely fashionable. Wow
Why the heck did I decide to put up a 7ft Christmas tree this year??? I haven’t erected one since 1996… Boxes all over the living room; half the lights don’t work; can’t find the box with my favorite ornaments; etc, etc. Should have broke out the little 2ft table top trees…
.
time for some egg nog, alycee! and some silly christmas music, too! and cookies!
Lovely drifting snow turns my computer into Jumpin Jack Flash——am I the only one so cursed?
Anyhoo—–NRA, a protection racket, a disgusting, revolting, evil protection racket I might add
Good West Coast evening Chipsticks!
TOD is beginning to look a lot like Christmas – I LOVE IT!!!!!
Just watched Darlene Love doing her annual xmas thing on Letterman—–rockin the house—–here she is singing the same song last year—-it’s great!
A good time of year to sing along with Jackie Shannon’s song; “Put a little love in your heart.”
Sooooo happy to see my beloved First Family on their way to there favorite shangri-la. HALLELULIERRRRRRR!!!!!!!
Yes We Can
my contribution to Christmas Carols this evening/morning….
Trombone Shorty (on trombone…
) with other musicians from New Orleans
that’s actually Trombone Shorty on the trumpet. (my typing wouldn’t let me be sarcastic…. )
Have a fabulous weekend all!
What a week. Thank goodness it’s over. Too bad the punditry isn’t screaming about all the good econ news the way they do when anythings drops 0.2 % -But to hell with them. I begin a 2 week vaca today and what better way to kick it off than with the HGTV Whitehouse Christmas behind the scene’s special -Enjoy
http://www.hgtv.com/video/white-house-christmas-2012-video/index.html
So glad the 1st fam escaped for their much deserved quality time together. The thought of PBO doing a gangman style dance is too funny.
Night all
Hi LunarSea, I guess we’re alone in the “house”! I too was happy to see that they took off & hope they get to find time & personal giggles!
I’ve had this feeling that Sen. Anouye (sp?) went home w/ PBO. Or that he’s meeting him on arrival in HI. That would be so fitting.
Crashing … goodnight! I’m pretending it’s not the a.m.! It’s night , yep!
Anyone still awake???
disclaimer: not a real astronaut!!
but actually, i think they were all space folk…
wasn’t that hilarious? I think the main guy in that one is one of the dancers in We’re NASA And We Know It.
good hawaii morning tally!
there are so many funny, interesting people in this! thanks for finding such great entertainment for us.
Like this.
here’s a current report from hawaii news, with video, saying the first lady will be attending the senator’s memorial with the president.
http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/story/20408277/president-and-first-lady-to-attend-public-memorial-sunday-for-inouye-at-punchbowl
Susanne, have they touched down yet?
yes!!! but no other news….
Thanks!
I snorted.
Suprise….it’s porn…..
awwwwwwwww! Cats don’t kill mice, people kill mice!
hawaii news reports the president’s plane touched down at 12:06 a.m.
aloha obamas!!
Great news susanne.
honolulu current temp 72 deg (12:45 a.m.), wind 10 mph, scattered clouds. tomorrow forecast 80 deg, sunny with passing clouds. high surf on north facing coasts. aloha obamas!
so glad the president and family arrived safely! now they have a drive (probably half hour to 45 min) to their beach house. it’s almost one a.m. so doubtful there will be more news tonight.
good night chips and tods!
Can we put LiPierre at the head of that list? Then add the Republican Party. Maybe I shouldn’t say these things, but sometime it makes you wonder with what is going on.
Love PBOs threads…cool jacket and the slim leg pants, definitely not mom jeans…very GQ cool, and the rest of the family…..wow!
I’m begging for a snow break, since “we’re” now in sunny, warm Hawaii. Makes my whole screen jump and flash bright lights.
Exactly——Repubs are refusing to budge on anything in negotiating with Obama because they are so extremely bitter because he beat them twice. And as one old Repub said, “They don’t have the sense that God gave a goose.” People like Joe Walsh are still there. But isn’t that embarrassing and juvenile beyond belief——throw a tantrum and refuse to play——stomping out and stomping home?
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/12/22/us/politics/still-bitter-about-election-republican-opposition-unwilling-to-compromise-with-president.html?partner=rss&emc=rss&smid=tw-nytimes&_r=0
Morning!
http://theobamadiary.com/2012/12/22/rise-and-shine-381/
Yeah!! Love that they have some away time from the ‘stench’ of Washington!
