I really don’t think so. I just heard Bob Shrum on Rev. Al, and he has a good clear analysis of the race. Brown is not a shoo-in, at all. Shrum said he can’t get above that 47% mark…..if he was a shoo-in he would be at least at 50 now. He has name recognition, that’s all. Remember that the “generic” Demo is never strong. Larry O’Donnell also has a clear analysis, and he knows Massachusetts well. He has very sound reasons why Brown is not a likely winner. Let’s not give in to the right hype that Scott will return to the Senate. I for one will donate to whoever runs against him too.
People have not forgotten the kind of race Scott Brown ran against Elizabeth Warren, and he was mighty nasty at times, so that poll showing him leading means NOTHING.

I’m furious about that. I think maybe he can get four days in Hawaii, but he’s clearly going to be in Washington some time after Christmas Day. After four years of stellar work, after a gruelling campaign, and after working fairly to negotiate a deal with a bunch of fools – he doesn’t get a vacation. The GOP, on the other hand, have worked 30% of the time, are insane, and have already gone home for the holidays. Life is not fair.
As long as POTUS and his family spend Christmas together they will be just fine. Going to Hawaii would have been great, maybe they can go later. This really makes no sense at all because a deal could have been work out if this President was dealing with any Republicans with any dam sense.

This is a devastating setback for Mark Knoller who had planned to count how many helpings of dinner and rounds of golf the President had during Christmas vacation.
My fear is that republicams will plot a new plan “B” for next week and pass it, so they’ll put the blame on democrats for going over the cliff. I hope democrats don’t have any illusions and don’t believe ANYTHING that Boehner or McConnell are telling them behind the scenes.

Hello everyone – made it to December 22 in my world (9.40am) – I just watched the video on the last thread on PBO running for the senate – what is wonderful – he hasn’t changed his ideas – he has done everything with the help of the people & little help from the party – or from Washington. For all those people screaming for change in Washington – they surely got it – a man who has more family values and love of the American People than every last member of the GOP put together.
That video shows so clearly that “what you see is what you got”. What an amazing, remarkable man – his absolute best is yet to come – it will be spectacular. The families of those wee children who died, just a week ago, will marvel at what PBO achieves – I hope it will help their effort to keep living amid the deepest of sorrow.
