Chips, my dear, Happy Christmas! You have obviously been having a grand celebratory time with family, and that makes me super happy for you! Sure hoped b-in-l love his non-perfume/aftershave. Also hope you gave family our heartfelt thanks for so generously sharing you throughout the year, and mom got her ticket to come with you to the Inauguration so that I can give her a hug myself.
It’s my very first Christmas when I decided I didn’t want to make a fuss or do anything other than cook and chill. It’s worked out fine FOR ME. You can almost hear a pin drop around here.
I did pretty much the same thing:) First year without a real Christmas tree – I used a tinsel tree that my daughter had in college. Instead of a big dinner after church we had our usual Christmas pancake “breakfast”. We opened presents and just hung out together. Perfect!
I didn’t even bother with the tree, and we haven’t eaten yet because offspring is ‘not hungry yet’. We are not really ‘fussy’ about food around here, a fact which has its pluses and minuses (cause sometimes I have to actually remind him to eat ).
I had a friend who used to forget to eat. I can’t imagine such a thing myself! Today my children are with their dad’s family, and I am having a nice, do-nothing pajama day. Just me and the kitty
A do-nothing pajama day sounds just up my street, Mary! Not eating for hours used to be something I did fairly often if I was away from home, but I can’t do it anymore because hunger seems to be the main trigger for my newly acquired migraines. Now I almost have to take a snack with me each time I leave home. This ticks me off, because it means that I sometimes eat more than I should in order to avert a headache and I won’t be surprised if I grow outward very quickly. Grrr. Offspring forgets to eat because his mind is usually caught up in whatever he’s doing, composing or playing games and he has never paid much attention to meals.
I’m so blessed vc and have had a wonderful Christmas holiday even tho today is my only day off – it’s been great! The family is in good health, the kids are doing fine, my daughter is flying back to school and I’m powering down for the evening.
I’m so glad to see TOD family members sharing holiday cheer – it warms my heart.
Mariele, every time I pass I intend to say ‘Season’s Greeting’ to you personally, then I get sidetracked. Okay, this time I WILL pause….
“Happy Holidays, Mariele!”
Chips, did you lend the snowtoddler your hat? The hat’s so colourful and has so much green in it that it reminds me of your hair, the last time you had a special treatment. I somehow feel it would have looked as charming on you as it does on snowtoddler.
Merry Christmas to TOD folks who celebrate, and Happy New Year to all! Are there any plans for a TOD meet-up on DC for the Day of Service? I will miss the wonderful artists from the 2009 concert but am so glad President Obama has chosen this day of service activity instead. He and Michelle are hyper-aware of all the hurting and needy people in this country and and around the world.
The Day of Service is Saturday, January 19th. There is a website for service activities: 2013.pic.org but I have not checked it lately. Hope to meet as many of you as possible there!
Judith, it sure would be nice to meet as many TODobots as possible then. I wonder if we can discuss this here after the New Year celebrations are over? It would be a bit disappointing to go to Wash.DC and not meet up with some ‘familiar faces’.
Merry Christmas TOD family. What a year! We have sooo much to be thank-ful for. Imagine if we were living in a world where our President elect was President Romney. Things will be tough, but goodness and sincerity have a way of being exposed. Lets be sure to have our Presidents back.
Thank you all for a great, if not emotional, year!!

TY, I’m not, but that’s one of the reasons I love TODville, GG. You guys have such a glorified picture of me I feel positively virtuous when I stroll the village – I don’t recognize the me some of you describe, but I pretend for a bit.
I’m currently at work right now and I’d just like to say that someone should tell certin “MeDical professional” that “bedside manor” should also extend to their fellow medical professionals and co-workers even if we are lowly lab workers…bastard. Ugh, I’ve still got 3 1/2 hours left in my day and I’m pissed enough to just go my ass home. Ugh…woo-sah, woo-sah, woo-sah!
{{lamh36}} Don’t pay him/her any more mind that is required. He/she is probably not happy to be there – no excuse, but the way it is sometimes. Now you only have 21/2 hours left; focus on the positive to lift up your spirit.
thx vcprez and you too GGail. Yeah it took me almost an hour to let it go. but I finally was able to shake it off and keep it going. now I”m home and one more day left on this 7 day on and then in 14 days, I’ll be back home in Louziana.
Chips, as I have always said, thanks for making this an oasis for us Obots to come and share and learn from each other. I have since introduced my hubby to the TOD family and he has become an avid lurker. Before the elections, I would share with him something I had read and he would ask where did you read that? I would say TOD. One day he asked me for the link and the rest is history. He reads here everyday. He loves, loves the videos. Thanks, again Chips!!
Merry Christmas Chips and Merry Christmas to EVERYONE.!!
Going off for a bit to watch a movie with offspring, who has been a good sport about staying home because mo-ther wanted a quiet Christmas and put a nix on all the invitations we got. Later.
Hey TOD, if you have some time, you should totally watch this discussion with David Axelrod at The University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics. He talks about election 2012, Pres. Obama, behind the scenes with Pres. Obama in the white house, the future of the Democratic party, Citizens United, the Supreme Court, Pres. Obama as a person and leader, how the media called the election wrong, Pres. Obama’s vision of the future etc. He addresses the disappointments that so called supporters have about Pres. Obama and he laid out why Pres. Obama is a bloody brilliant President and that those who whine are just trying to project their failings on a man who has proven time and time again, that he’s fighting for everyone. It’s very fascinating.
Fascinating discussion with David Axelrod about the election, behind the scenes with Pres. Obama, and his life. c-span.org/Events/Obama-A…— Nerdy Wonka (@NerdyWonka) December 25, 2012
wow wow wow utaustinliberal, this is MY major gift received for the day.
THANK YOU!! awesome. I gotta go get a friend coming in on
a delayed flight from Newark; but this ~this~ is the treat to make
an evening delightful. Thank you. I’m so sorry the snowflakes
makes you sick. Chips, you can turn these snowflakes off anytime, far as I’m concerned,
please, since they make our ut sick as a dog. xoxox
Happy holidays everyone.
Fascinating, indeed. My lil old sick computer freezes up repeatedly, didn’t get the last little bit of Q&A. But loved it. It was just great discussion. The more I read about the post mortems, the more it appears that the two campaigns were so diametrically apart, that it appears Mittens were playing amateur hour non-stop.
Does anyone feel like throwing up due to the snow on the screen or is it only me it affects this way? It’s so weird. It doesn’t affect my computer, but makes me horribly dizzy and running to the bathroom upchucking every time.
I have no clue. But every time Chips puts up the snow on the screen and I look at it, I begin to get dizzy and I have to stumble to the nearest bathroom and just vomit. Then I have to lie down for a while. I just wanted to know if it was only me it affected. It’s the weirdest thing.
This is a figure ground/visual integration thing you got going on. I’m thinking
you probably experience it in other situations. Is that so? I think we better get the
snowflakes turned off, in any kind of case.
Ah, UTAL, that has got to be the pits! Thanks for the Axelrod vid, I saw bits and pieces of it previously but not the entire thing. I’ll check it out later or tomorrow.
Sorry about this for you too Meta. Yeah…it’s the pits. I have to use my hand to block part of my face so I’m not staring at the snow and don’t have to upchuck. It messes with my visual acuity too.
Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings and Blessings to Chips and all TODers. I am having a quiet Christmas day in Trinidad. I look forward to a wonderful four years with all of you. Be safe whatever you do. and thank you for this site Chips.
Merry Christmas, TODers, and a special Merry Christmas to Ms. Chipsticks. All is well at my house. My daughter and her fiance arrived at 5:30 AM this morning and will be here until tomorrow morning. Any time my “baby” is home is a special time for me. After her dad and I divorced when she was five, it’s just been the two of us, and now since she moved to a neighboring state to take a better job in late August, it’s been quite an adjustment not being able to see her everyday. Thank goodness for a cell phone plan that doesn’t charge us for our cell-to-cell calls. Family is important, and we should all tell our family members that we love them as often as possible. I’ve enjoyed reading about the different things TODers have been doing today. I’m jealous of those of you who have reported that there is some snow on the ground where you live because it’s not snowing in my part of GA. It’s a rainy and a dreary looking day, but nothing can kill my Christmas spirit.
I will remain clam about this, because it makes no sense at all that POTUS have to give up his vacation with his family. If it weren’t for those crazy ass Republicans, there could have been a deal work out by now, and sign by POTUS. So I guess FLOTUS and the girls will remain in Hawaii hoping POTUS can get back to Hawaii soon as possible.
He’s the President so he has a job to do. It’s to darn bad the Republicans think their only job is to do nothing but cause trouble.. They have done that job wonderfully.
Merry Christas folks. We have a lot to be thankful for. We got four more years and that’s all I wanted for Christmas. I also got lots of new clothes and a little gadget that plays music that has an apple on it. And my dughter is here keeping me compny so I am blessed. Enjoy the rest of the evening folks and thanks Chips for this site.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! Lots of love to my TOD family!!! GIANT (((HUGS)))!!! Wishing everyone mistletoe, festive trees that keep the evil spirits away, holly, eggnog, love, great food & drink, cookies, and warm fuzzies all around by a real yule log, or one on the TV.
Aha! Now almost all of the family has checked in. What took you so long Tally-o? Never mind, you are now accounted for. ‘Happy Holidays, and may your days in the year ahead be filled with …… laughter!’
and to top it all off, I had a root-canal redo (no pain, they just saw infection on the xray) and a new crown buildup the next day…. but now my jaw hurts. Hydrocodone has become my best friend. BLAH!!!
We had this lovely log burning brightly on the tv while I shared a delicious turkey dinner with my co workers. Great ambience in place of the real thing.
Wow – God bless the people of Central and Southern Alabama (and possibly beyond) with the Christmas Day tornado warnings. The weather folks are calling it a “PDS” – particularly dangerous situation. As we used to say in Florida, when I lived there, “hunker down.”
I don’t really like that they are naming the winter storms, either – guess I’ll get used to that – the one that’s traveling around now is Winter Storm Euclid, as I’m sure most are aware. Bah humbug! Begone, storm!
I kind of like that they have names … but Euclid??? Anyway, Euclid looks to be a pretty big thing! Yes, we are in AL, but not S. AL; but it is really raining here, has been for most of the day and we have fairly high winds beginning and they are supposed to increase, but we are not in the danger zone for tornadoes … this time.
Merry merry everyone. Just catching up and enjoying everyone’s rehash of their days. I just finished cleaning up from a big lamb dinner, everyone’s gone and I am enjoying the quiet. A short respite before heading to the big apple to visit with the larger fam clan. New years in NYC. Haven’t done that in a while so I am looking forward to it.
Loving all the music and festivities going on in the TOD village. Wishing everyone peace and harmony in their lives.
A toast to ChipsChica and to the best bunch of obots ever to grace the web. {{{{Hugs all around}}}}
I rather like it – at this time of year I see Christmas in most things – now it is 26th in my world it is reflection time. When I was a child in a small beachside town – everyone celebrated Christmas – regardless of where they came from (& it was a time of immigrants from many places) and what religion – if any – they followed. It still tends to be the same in my world- no-one says “happy holidays” – it’s always merry Christmas & there is a feeling of goodwill that may not have a religious backing but it is always a sign of hope for the future.
For just a little while – the birth of a child – makes us all think about happiness and family and love – some deck their houses in lights – some record their children opening presents – and some visit places of worship and sing songs of Joy. For a little while I stopped being annoyed because my daughter is always late and loved that she came at all – we ate and drank (just a little) and told stories and watched the babe fall asleep from exhaustion – and for a little while – the world was all good.
May the memories continue far into the future – I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas in their own special way – and thankyou for the best “good news source” on the inter tubes.
Good evening TOD Fam. Merry Christmas! Quiet day today; in fact, I’m just getting up — not feeling so hot. Had a wonderful time last evening, Candlelight service at Church then a party at my neighbor’s house. Looking forward to my family party this Saturday, so far 75 people have rsvp’d. We have dinner and a talent show. I’m so looking forward to it.
Merry Cbristmas/Happy Holidays to one and all. Thanks Chips for everything that you do! I’m not that young yet it’s hard to remember life without TOD!!
aloha chips and tods! just dropping in to say merry christmas to all. we’ve been at the beach, getting nice and sandy in the rolling winter surf. i gave my husband a beach paddle ball set for his christmas toy (everyone needs toys!) so we had fun batting the little ball around. almost time to cook, then tonight we’ll watch a favorite christmas movie, ’1941′ a spielberg film with belushi, akroyd, ned beatty, john candy, toshiro mifune, treat williams, slim pickens–hilarity ensues. hope you’re all having a wonderful christmas!
A bipartisan cancer research bill — aimed at tackling the disease’s most dangerous forms — has finally passed Congress after nearly six years of work.
The Recalcitrant Cancer Research Act passed both chambers last week as part of the conference report on defense authorization bill.
The bill will create scientific frameworks for addressing the most dangerous cancers. It was a project of Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) and Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.), whose legislative ground game yielded a bipartisan co-sponsor list nearly 300 members long in the House.
Something passed? But, this is in the NDAA bill. You see how the Republicans leak this, and if the President vetoes this, the Far Left will be mad, if he dies not veto the defense bill, the Left will be mad
Arg, the Republicans are playing the Limosibe Liberals like a violin.
Merry Christmas Chips and TOD Family. I had a great Christmas eve dinner at my nephews house and opened gifts, pretty generous for me this year. Then last night my heart did a little flip and landed back in ER for 8 hours today. Told my nephews wife, I laughed so hard last night it rocked the heart also. Anyway after a couple of shocks I am home with my little Megan and having a very qiet evening. Our dinner for the seniors turned out really well and everyone was happy we suggested to do this. (they made up a plate for me Woot!!) Anyway, I am so glad everyone had a great day and hope the rest of the year goes the same. It always helps to have POTUS in for another 4 years. Good night folks sleep tight. ((((((hugs to you all)))))
THANKS CHIPS.
Real joy comes not from ease or riches or from the praise of men, but from doing something worthwhile.- Sir Wilfred Grenfell (1865 – 1940)
Happiness also can come not from fame and fortune, but merely by having something to be enthusiastic about. It’s as simple as that, if we let it be. (Author unknown – well, actually, I kinda made parts of that up.)
I will, jb. Too bad that I couldn’t think of any Thanksgiving songs as that is truly my most favorite holiday. However I do love Christmas and love tio see people’s faces light up when I give them gifts. It is such fun.
Merry Christmas Chips and family! Thank you for a great year of thoughtful, humane, hilarious, and timely news and thoughts. I’m visiting my sister in Denver, and we had a lovely snow last night, and an absolutely glorious candlelight service at Mile High Church. Since my sister is eating no grain right now, we experimented with some delicious recipes to go with our turkey, and I made a fantastic all vegetable stuffing, if I do say so myself. A very sweet day.
Welp, got off at 8pm made it home 25 minutes later (15minutes longer than I usually do) DFW area has ice and snow for Christmas. I’ve never been so happy to live close to work (my next apartment is literally across the street from my new job). I already know my tires and brakes aren’t “winter weather” ready (not hopelessly messed up, just needed repairs/tuneups).
Now sitting down to eat left over hot wings and pizza. Just lovely…lol.
I’ll be home in 14 days so I’m, actually fine with working Chrsitmas, but then my cousin sent me a picture of my grnadmother’s brother who we haven’t seen in like 5 YEARS! He’s the last living relation we have of that generation. My grandmother and her other brother has been long dead. So Uncle Benny is our last link to her.
Hi everyone! Just wanted to pop in and wish everyone a Merry Christmas! We had a lovely day here, a big dinner with family over, and then we started making plans for our summer vacation, which I really look forward to every year. This year both of my older daughters will be able to come, along with my parents, so it will be a really special time. Now I’m off to clean, because it looks like a tornado came through my house. Blessings, everyone!
A Merry Christmas evening to everyone! Just had a wonderful dinner. We had just planned on 2 of us and then we found out some friends hadn’t had Christmas with anyone so we invited them over. Had plenty of food and end up having a wonderful time. This is what Christmasis all about. Now we are watching Star Trek, Voyage Home. My husband’s favority Star Trek Movie.
Hugs to everyone here. Hope you are all having a wonderful time.
Merry Christmas night everyone! Just finished a wonderful dinner with friends. We had planned it just to be my husband & I but we found out 3 friends were home alone so invited them all over for dinner. Had a great time. Now we are watching Star Trek, Voyage Home. My husband’s favorite Star Trek Movie.
Hope all have had a wonderful day. See you all in the morning!
I am pooped! Simply exhausted. Today was a labor of love. After spending so many of these holidays with my babies serving in Iraq I so cherish these moments having them home. I prepared dinner for 50 people and 48 family members actually showed up today. Whew!!! Now I have a nice glass of Moscato and my feet propped up and I think I’m gonna settle down for a long winters nap
i’m tired just reading about your busy day. Glad all of your babies and family were there.
Christmas in N. E. Fla. was a day for sandals and short sleeves. I went no farther than two doors down and across the street to sister #2′s home for dinner and gift exchanging. The people that I love the most were there, healthy and happy which is the greatest gift. Hope all TOD ohana had a great day whether or not you celebrate Christmas. Good night.
tods are the best! i saw your post vitaminlover right before the timer rang for the pie to come out of the oven. off i ran, with this terrific piece of music singing in my head–and now thanks to jacqueline we have the fabulous paul singing it too
Truthfully, I had forgotten it existed. So, thanks! Now I’m feeling even more mellow (if that’s possible, ’cause it’s been a nice day, start to finish).
And why wait for Christmas and Thanksgiving? After all, our President is Barack Obama for four more years – the whole wide world is ahead of us, every day of that! If we hold our heads up, and ignore people who don’t get it, we can hold onto our JOY!
Silent Night. Ho-oo-ly Night. ALL IS CALM all is bright. Round young Virgin, Mother and Child, Holy Infant so tender and mild. Sleep in HEAVENLY Peeeeeeeaace Sleeeeeep in heavenly peace.
love the tod global community! i’m still drooling over the good smells of christmas dinner finishing up in the oven! happy boxing day almablanca–out with the old, in with the new
Well all except PBO. We should keep him. Sounds lovely where you are. My hubby is in Jamaica on a family matter. Much as I love winter, right now ……not so sure.
I hope everyone had a lovely, happy Christmas… however, as nice as its been- I’m glad its over… having just moved, I’ve learned that holidays & moving just don’t mix. Also, heres a hmmm moment I experienced at Christmas dinner at my eldest son & his fiance’s… turns out her family is full of Republicans!! Oh brother I did not expect that.. wasn’t forewarned at all. But I held my own, stuck up for our President.. managed to not embarrass my son (much) Even blurted out to all that I had not known I’d be eating dinner with a room full of republicans.. to their credit they all had a good sense of humor
Well we managed to keep things pretty lighthearted.. but I have to say that today I have some ominous feelings. They are all educated teachers.. some retired, some still teaching- the whole family- but it was clear their views are rightwinged. My son’s fiance is a lovely woman- and very good to his children, but I will honestly state here (and nowhere else) that I don’t understand his choice at this point… and since he’s a grown man, I guess I don’t have to
I wish that were the case Berny, these folks are ‘educators’ and no doubt that they consider their views to be steeped in intelligence and knowledge. anyhow, they won’t be my inlaws- just my son’s!
DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 26, 2012
In the evening, the President will depart Honolulu, Hawaii for Washington, DC. The departure from Hickam Air Force Base is open to pre-credentialed media. The first lady and the first daughters will remain in Hawaii.
I’m also glad FLOTUS and the girls will get to remain in Hawaii for their vacation. But I must admit that I am piss that POTUS has to cut his vacation with his family short all because of those crazy ass Republicans who refuse to compromise.
Annabella, it makes me see red. I honestly hope that Boehner and his nutty pals had a lousy Christmas and realized that the ugly cloud they carry around with them spoils everything they touch. More likely Boehner spent Christmas drunk under the Christmas tree wondering why Santa filled his stocking with coals.
…and he has to fly back in this turbulent weather. If I were the president, I’d come back this weekend, enjoy my vacation, and make the Republicans sweat some more. geeeesh. It’s because of the Republicans that we’re in this mess in the first place.
I heard about China’s high speed rail, a trip which use to take 20 hours will now take 8. America used to be the leader in developing things like this.
Yep, we are having fun. I chose to be a non-Christmassy people this year, and I must say it feels quite calming.
First on Christmas! Nicely played, vc. I hope you are enjoying a lovely day yourself.
I did pretty much the same thing:) First year without a real Christmas tree – I used a tinsel tree that my daughter had in college. Instead of a big dinner after church we had our usual Christmas pancake “breakfast”. We opened presents and just hung out together. Perfect!

Yes, thank you, CC. Are you? And have you finished your guinness intake for the evening?
Congrats vc! what a wonderful Christmas gift to yourself
The bestest, GGail! I’m the only one that choose good gifts for me.
So, how has your celebrations been so far?
I’m so blessed vc and have had a wonderful Christmas holiday even tho today is my only day off – it’s been great! The family is in good health, the kids are doing fine, my daughter is flying back to school and I’m powering down for the evening.

Merry Christmas Chips and everyone at TOD!!
Chips, did you lend the snowtoddler your hat? The hat’s so colourful and has so much green in it that it reminds me of your hair, the last time you had a special treatment. I somehow feel it would have looked as charming on you as it does on snowtoddler.
Love and hugs right back at you Chipsticks

‘Are there any plans for a TOD meet-up on DC for the Day of Service?’
Now that’s a thought, Judith. When IS the Day of Service? To date I haven’t paid too much attention to much except to the word ‘inauguration’.
Oh yeah, Season’s Greetings, to you!

{Janella} That was a very nice second gift for me, thanks! I do know I’m blessed.
I started at the suggested 8:00 mark and really enjoyed the Q & A as well as the natural way FLOTUS interacted with and ‘calmed’ AJ and encouraged Jordann. No question we got the bestest FLOTUS and POTUS for ALL citizens, young or old or in-between. Happy Holidays!
vc, you are so sweet {{{hug}}}}
No worries at all vc….Janella sounds kinda cool

TY. for your graciousness. I like Janelle better though.
Anyway, Happy Christmas, Kwanzaa, Festivus, whatever.

I agree with you vc. Don’t let anyone steal your joy lamh! You just come here to TOD and know that you are loved and appreciated!!!

It’s very fascinating.

wow wow wow utaustinliberal, this is MY major gift received for the day.
THANK YOU!! awesome. I gotta go get a friend coming in on
a delayed flight from Newark; but this ~this~ is the treat to make
an evening delightful. Thank you. I’m so sorry the snowflakes
makes you sick. Chips, you can turn these snowflakes off anytime, far as I’m concerned,
please, since they make our ut sick as a dog. xoxox
Happy holidays everyone.
ut, I say Bravo to Mr. Axelrod. I just love the part where he talks about the whiny so call supporters, and that POTUS is a brilliant President.
Great interview. Confirms what I akready believed.
What a great find! Thanks for sharing the link; just finished watching all of it.
Does anyone feel like throwing up due to the snow on the screen or is it only me it affects this way? It’s so weird. It doesn’t affect my computer, but makes me horribly dizzy and running to the bathroom upchucking every time.
THAT bad????????? You seriously get sick? UT, that isn’t good:( Equilibrium thing??
I have no clue. But every time Chips puts up the snow on the screen and I look at it, I begin to get dizzy and I have to stumble to the nearest bathroom and just vomit. Then I have to lie down for a while. I just wanted to know if it was only me it affected. It’s the weirdest thing.
This is a figure ground/visual integration thing you got going on. I’m thinking
you probably experience it in other situations. Is that so? I think we better get the
snowflakes turned off, in any kind of case.
That’s so strange ut. I’m sorry it affects you negatively because I LOVE IT.
Don’t worry, Christmas is only one day. We probably won’t see it tomorrow.
Ah, UTAL, that has got to be the pits! Thanks for the Axelrod vid, I saw bits and pieces of it previously but not the entire thing. I’ll check it out later or tomorrow.
Sorry sweet
CHIPS TURN THE FLAKES OFF!!!!!!!!!!
I think that’s a tough call df.
Chipsticks doesn’t play the snowflakes every day and many of us DO like them. And the further down you go on the thread…the snowflakes disappear.
I like the snowflakes, but if it’s making UTAL that sick than I’m sure people wouldn’t be upset if Chips stopped the snow.
Oh, so sorry to hear this, ut. How awful.
Yeah, it definitely makes me queasy, too, and does a thing on my visual acuity. Can’t stay more than a few minutes at a time.
Sorry about this for you too Meta. Yeah…it’s the pits. I have to use my hand to block part of my face so I’m not staring at the snow and don’t have to upchuck. It messes with my visual acuity too.
Thanks for this Utaustinliberal
Merry Christmas Chips and TOD Family
Special Thanks to BWD for guiding me to very special site.
Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings and Blessings to Chips and all TODers. I am having a quiet Christmas day in Trinidad. I look forward to a wonderful four years with all of you. Be safe whatever you do. and thank you for this site Chips.
Merry Christmas to you all. We just had dinner opened presents while watching the sound of music.
‘nothing can kill my Christmas spirit.’
I like the sound of that, Majiir! May you continue to enjoy the activities of the season and the company! Blessed be.
Per, Ed Henry.
I love the tradition FLOTUS talk about where they have a talent show. I think I will discuss that with my family and see what they think of it.
My family does this too. Plus, I have “mystery” talent cards available for anyone who forgets to prepare a talent presentation. Ha ha ha
I want to see if my family wants to do this next time.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I hope the fat man in the red suit brought plenty of happiness to your abode.
MERRY CHRISTMAS yardarm!
The fat man in the red suit didn’t bring me anything, but the Child in the Manger certainly did
The Greatest Gift ever given, GGail.

Thanks VC!! I have the plague – been spending most of my holiday in bed. But getting better!
{{{{Tally-girl}}}} Getting better, sounds good. Go back to bed and be sure to sleep.
and to top it all off, I had a root-canal redo (no pain, they just saw infection on the xray) and a new crown buildup the next day…. but now my jaw hurts. Hydrocodone has become my best friend. BLAH!!!
For those of you without a fireplace…..
We had this lovely log burning brightly on the tv while I shared a delicious turkey dinner with my co workers. Great ambience in place of the real thing.
Merry Xmas TOD!
Deck the house with boughs of holly fa la la la la la la la la!
Glad to hear you’re out of the danger zone. Hope the rain and wind move out quickly!
A toast to ChipsChica and to the best bunch of obots ever to grace the web. {{{{Hugs all around}}}}
{{{Lunar Sea}}} Top of the season to you!
Yikes….
Nice display but I fail to see the Christmas in it. Just my opinion.
Maybe it’s for Winter Solstice.
Perhaps….
I love it!!
Merry Christmas TOD!
Hi GoB! Merry, Merry Christmas to YOU!
Merry Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas Alycee. Hope you’re feeling better. So what is your talent?
Yeah! What is it?
I’m the MC, I also read a poem.
Alycee, I thought you were going to say you did a mean imitation of PSY, Gangnam Style.
James Earl Jones?
Merry Cbristmas/Happy Holidays to one and all.
Thanks Chips for everything that you do! I’m not that young yet it’s hard to remember life without TOD!!
Thanks for a great year, Chips!

aloha chips and tods! just dropping in to say merry christmas to all. we’ve been at the beach, getting nice and sandy in the rolling winter surf. i gave my husband a beach paddle ball set for his christmas toy (everyone needs toys!) so we had fun batting the little ball around. almost time to cook, then tonight we’ll watch a favorite christmas movie, ’1941′ a spielberg film with belushi, akroyd, ned beatty, john candy, toshiro mifune, treat williams, slim pickens–hilarity ensues. hope you’re all having a wonderful christmas!
Sounds like a blast! It’s night now and 7 degrees here with snow all about. Talk about a difference!
Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.), whose legislative ground game yielded a bipartisan co-sponsor list nearly 300 members long in the House.
http://thehill.com/blogs/healthwatch/other/274387-after-long-haul-cancer-bill-passes-congress
((((((hugs to you all)))))
oh Roberta take care dear!
Rest and relax, Roberta! Sorry that happened to you on Christmas Day, but I’m so glad you’re home tonight.
Glad you are OK now. Must have been scary.
Take care Roberta. PBO needs you for his next four.
I’m so sorry that you had to spend the night in the ER, Roberta. I’m glad you are home, and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hope you feel better Roberta. Sending you healing thoughts.
THANKS CHIPS.
Real joy comes not from ease or riches or from the praise of men, but from doing something worthwhile.- Sir Wilfred Grenfell (1865 – 1940)
Smart guy, that Sir Wilfred.
Happiness also can come not from fame and fortune, but merely by having something to be enthusiastic about. It’s as simple as that, if we let it be. (Author unknown – well, actually, I kinda made parts of that up.)
Merry Christmas Night, Yardarm!
Same to ya JC.
Snow on Christmas? Just Brilliant. I love it Chips. Thank you.
Happy Boxing Day for those who partake in the festivities……..in Australia, etc.
And for those who would be out and about shopping, returning and exchanging their gifts tomorrow, enjoy.
It has been a joyous, wonderful and a Happy Christmas today.
Good Evening and See you all Tomorrow.
Beautiful. Have a wonderful day everyone.
Oh Christmas tree Oh Christmas tree how lovely are your branches.
You are making me smile every time you write out the Christmas song lyrics. Keep doing that! Ha!
I will, jb. Too bad that I couldn’t think of any Thanksgiving songs as that is truly my most favorite holiday. However I do love Christmas and love tio see people’s faces light up when I give them gifts. It is such fun.
You are so sweet! I think I’m kind of partial to Thanksgiving, as well! Maybe next year, you’ll think of more!
If I could think of some song lyrics to share (I’m getting sleepy), I’d write them here ____________ . Your turn!
i’m late catching up, but gotta say: ‘over the river and through the woods to grandmother’s house we go’!
Sounds like you had a great time. Voyage Home is my fave of the old cast Trek films too! Always glad to meet a fellow Trek fan!
I hope everyone had a great day!
You deserve it.
i’m tired just reading about your busy day.
Good night.
Please thank all of your family members for their service. My family is grateful!
Baby O’Donna – I don’t even have to wish you a Merry Christmas, ’cause you had one already. So, Happy New Year!
Simply haaaaving a WONDER FUL Christmas time.
I’ll join you!
Isn’t that one of the coolest songs?
tods are the best! i saw your post vitaminlover right before the timer rang for the pie to come out of the oven. off i ran, with this terrific piece of music singing in my head–and now thanks to jacqueline we have the fabulous paul singing it too
Actually, it’s thanks to vitaminlover, but I’m with you!
P.S., susanne – You have PIE ?????
ooooh yes!!! come on over! i made a huge cobbler-sized apple cranberry pie. don’t tell mark knoller, though! tods only!
Truthfully, I had forgotten it existed. So, thanks! Now I’m feeling even more mellow (if that’s possible, ’cause it’s been a nice day, start to finish).
This is what I love about Christmas and Thanksgiving—it is what we make of it and enjoy.
And why wait for Christmas and Thanksgiving? After all, our President is Barack Obama for four more years – the whole wide world is ahead of us, every day of that! If we hold our heads up, and ignore people who don’t get it, we can hold onto our JOY!
So beautifully put, jb!
Well, you have all of us inspired, I tell ya!
Silent Night. Ho-oo-ly Night. ALL IS CALM all is bright. Round young Virgin, Mother and Child, Holy Infant so tender and mild. Sleep in HEAVENLY Peeeeeeeaace Sleeeeeep in heavenly peace.
aloha tods–anybody still up? don’t know if this was posted from hufpoo. very cute photos of the obama girls!
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/25/malia-and-sasha-obama-2012-lookbook_n_2362284.html
I am still up. Not working all night but its hard to sleep after a stretch of night shifts. Must be beautiful in Hawaii now.
yes, it is lovely. sort of a milky sky today, with a chop on the ocean–but warm, gentle.
Ahhh.
Boxing Day = frenzied shopping day. This is Black Friday Canadian style.
love the tod global community! i’m still drooling over the good smells of christmas dinner finishing up in the oven! happy boxing day almablanca–out with the old, in with the new
Well all except PBO. We should keep him. Sounds lovely where you are. My hubby is in Jamaica on a family matter. Much as I love winter, right now ……not so sure.
i’m in hawaii, the big island, district of kohala. i love winter, too, but only for a few minutes
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!
Although it’s been said many times, many ways MERRY CHRISTMAS too-oo you.
uh-oh–jacqueline, i think she wants sir paul again!
Ding dong ding dong Christmas bells are ringing!
Midnight here in the Midwest, so I think I’ll take a sleigh ride outta here. See y’all when the sun comes up.
But I held my own, stuck up for our President.. managed to not embarrass my son (much)
Even blurted out to all that I had not known I’d be eating dinner with a room full of republicans.. to their credit they all had a good sense of humor
Good for you, Sherijr. As someone with Republican relatives, I know how hard it is.
Well we managed to keep things pretty lighthearted.. but I have to say that today I have some ominous feelings. They are all educated teachers.. some retired, some still teaching- the whole family- but it was clear their views are rightwinged. My son’s fiance is a lovely woman- and very good to his children, but I will honestly state here (and nowhere else) that I don’t understand his choice at this point… and since he’s a grown man, I guess I don’t have to
Couldn’t help thinking.. where did I go wrong with son number one??? Republican inlaws for petes sake???
lol…republicans aka dems who haven’t seen the light yet………….but they will
I wish that were the case Berny, these folks are ‘educators’ and no doubt that they consider their views to be steeped in intelligence and knowledge. anyhow, they won’t be my inlaws-
just my son’s!
DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 26, 2012
In the evening, the President will depart Honolulu, Hawaii for Washington, DC. The departure from Hickam Air Force Base is open to pre-credentialed media. The first lady and the first daughters will remain in Hawaii.
http://www.theroot.com/buzz/obamas-day-dec-26-departing-hawaii
(i guess we knew pbo was returning early, but i’m glad at least the first lady and first daughters get to continue their vacation).
~and to all a good night!
You are 100% right about that , coop10.
Gooooood Morning…MsChipssss and TOD….
Morning Er-body!
GM folks. Hope you all had a great Xmas.
I heard about China’s high speed rail, a trip which use to take 20 hours will now take 8. America used to be the leader in developing things like this.
Morning everyone!
