I use Java for work, and we all had to delete the Java 7 download and reinstall 6.whatever when it first came out over a year ago because it messed up our entire system. Whatever is wrong with Java 7 is really wrong. But if you look for an earlier version of Java, you can use it and still be safe. We are not having any problems with the older version.
