It cannot be a coincidence that so many great people are being commemorated on the day of President Obama’s second Inauguration!! It’s a day off for us here in Barbados as well! Errol Barrow day – Father of Independence from Britain, from the shackles of colonialism, through education and upward mobility, and perhaps the main architect of Barbados as we know it – strongly middle class, prosperous, socially level, one of the freest and most progressive nations on earth. The mind and hand of God are very evident in PBO’s story.

I wish Monday was NOW!

We-e-ll, yes and no. I don’t want to wish-away my chances to walk down some of the streets where my president has traveled, but I do want to get to the business of seeing him and Mrs. O and VPJoe and Dr. B, etc. walk down the street joyously so that we can scream and dance and be filled again with the certainty that the right man is OFFICIALLY in the White House again for FOUR MORE YEARS1
