Wooot! Go Roberta!!!
Congrats Roberta in MN……Lady, you have been hitting it out of the park as the Number One TODer…these past few days.
Good Inauguration Morning Everybody!
I have heart palpitations!! So excited!
DF, I had to run to my bed because I felt my heart racing away. This is so emotionally sweet to all of us. We helped in this beautiful moment today. What a blessing.HZ
Thanks Chips! Hi Everyone!! It’s a Great Day in America!!!
Good Morning TOD family, and Happy Inauguration Morning!!
Can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be to watch history unfold, than here with the TOD gang.
YES WE CAN, AND YES WE DID!!

I can’t wait to see the President this morning. I am so glued to the tv, and the internet, I have my husband cooking today.
Wolf Blitzer is still talking about Michelle’s bangs, lol, the guy is clearly smitten.
Today we celebrate the only job the GOP managed to create in 4 years: Obama's 2nd Term. #p2— mm62 (@markm1962) January 20, 2013
best tweet I have ever read…..sooooooooooo true and cuts to the truth
Perfect. Tweet of the day.
Happy Inauguration Day TOD! We are just a few minutes away from even more GREATNESS!
We must never forget.
Thanks so much for this one, yardarm. I love the fullness of the arrangement. Great history in ‘Lift Every Voice.’HZ
Thanks so much for posting. Could weep through the whole thing. The win in 2008 and the first inauguration in 2009 were glorious and so is this day and tomorrow will be. In years to come, history will record beyond the current biased and lazy current pundits (who seem to simply regurgitate the last negative pundit sound bite) what we already know as truth: that President Obama as president has been one of the greatest
It’s almost time…..SQUEEEEEEEEE!
*******Happy Day***** I cannot stop grinning :)
Well, one thing I know, I’m not going to listen to (make that: mute) any pundits for the rest of the day, after this. If the face in front of my eyes on the screen isn’t an Obama or a Biden, I’m moving on!
Me too J’OB!
Weren’t those few minutes of the swearing-in wonderful, Jackie!!!! Tears are squirtin’ out of my eyes.
I was crying also. That surprised me.
I’m still choked up. I also think I heard him call FLOTUS “Sweetie.” Awww.
She looks so beautiful…Gorgeous dress, perfect hair and make-up, stunning First lady…
The entire family look like they stepped out a storybook…
Yes he did….
Yes. I am so proud of him.
All eyes on the Blue Room in the White House! Here ya go!
Excellent idea. And it will keep your sanity.
Here we go!!!!!!
Good morning everyone. I am so excited. I slept late this morning because I watched the 2009 inauguration until 1 a,m, this morning.
me too. I missed all the morning activities. Looking forward —->>
Oh My Goodness – how EXCITING is THIS!!!!!!! (Happy Dance in Los Angeles)

We are blessed to have him as the leader of the free world; thanks again everyone for working so hard to re-elect him.
I have been feel safe all day and now am soooooooo HAPPY :D :D
The First Family looks wonderful. They’re using the First Lady’s family bible.

As the tears squirt outta my eyes, I’ll even give kudos to Chief Justice Roberts for reading the oath from a card! No mistakes this time! Yeehaw!
God bless America and President Barack Obama and his beautiful family.
D I T T O!
:) :) :) Tears of joy and happiness we get another four years of PBO and VPJB.
Squirting tears here in Vancouver.
Hi, Barb! I had to take a break, but I’m back!!!!!
All set for the Inauguration?
PBO has changed the conversation in Washington…it is called ORGANIZING FOR ACTION!

Congratulations Mr. President.
And Breaking News: Mitt Romney is is on the roof of his house in his drawers and cognac threatening to jump while Mrs. Romney is in a very elaborate ball gown dancing around like she’s Bette Davis at the end of “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.”
anotherslyfox, you should be ashame of yourself. :)
There was something nice about how brief the ceremony was and with just the family.
It’s is DONE! It is WELL!
In 1873, Horatio Spafford wrote the words to the hymn “It is Well with My Soul” after the tragic death of his four daughters. (He wrote it on the ocean while sailing near the
spot where his daughters died.)Very moving.
It is Well with My Soul: youtu.be/T8_EfDqF7YI— Dudette (@Dudette9t9) January 20, 2013
omg that’s a beautiful song but never knew the sad circumstance behind it. Thanks..
Thanks, Dudette for posting this song. That is my Favorite song of my songs that I sang and still do to this day. I am crying now because it always brings back beautiful memories of my mother and grandmother. It is my “faith song of my life.” Thanks so much for sharing with our TOD Family.
It is Well With POB’s soul, I feel it from his spirit. His mother, father, grandmother, and grandfather are not here to participate in this wonderful and glorious history, but without them, we would not be enjoying these very emotional and historical moments of his life. POB is going to be just fine.
I also love the fact that the Bible that he used this morning is the Bible of his father-in-law, First Lady’s father who did not get to see all of this as well. However, Mr. Robinson was there again this morning. Just visualize the pages of that Bibles has the hand prints of his father-in law all over them.
What a beautiful memory for our First Daughters of that family Bible of their grandfather being used in the swearing in of their father’s second term.. HZ
That has always been one of my favorites, but I also never new the story of it. Thank you for sharing, Dudette. You are such a wonderful source of information. Thank you for what you do for all of us.
Wow beautiful. Thanks Dudette.
Did anyone notice that President Obama and Chief Justice Roberts used President Obama middle name. Hussein as opposed to just “H.”
Yes. As he should:)
Sigh….the sun just keep shining brighter today…
Hugs to ya, meta!
Right back atya, sistah!!
Oh my goodness. That moment was so precious and intimate! I was RIVETED the whole time.
That was short and so sweet! At least Roberts didn’t blow it this time, saw his notes wriggling with nervousness. And Congrats to our most wondrous President Obama as he officially begins his 2nd term! Great satisfaction and joy in the moment and so much admiration for this man. I think he is miles above all others in decency, insight and character.
Now all the damn talking heads are piping in about what he should do and what toilet paper he should use. It’s a Sunday morning and I’m trying hard not to cuss.
Turn them off, yardarm….enjoy the day:) We don’t need them to tell us what to think about our President….
I watch them with the sound off. The only thing good about looking at the pundit shows this way is the silence. :)
Speaking of “Sunday Morning,” I’m watching my recording of that CBS program. Even there, it was suggested (I think – barely listening) that, like Thomas Jefferson, President Obama should invite a member of Congress to eat dinner with him at the White House every night. TOTAL UNADULTERATED BULLCRAP. That’s it for me on the political punditry for the day. Enjoy yours, Yardarm!
Thomas Jefferson was a widower and wanted people around him so he could pontificate to them.
That’s one of the things that bugs me most about this socialize or else chit chat…
It completely discounts his wife – the First Lady, like she is not an integral part of this entire effort and marriage…
Like this is just up to the President and there are no considerations for his partner – that this can simply be imposed upon her and that her needs don’t matter and must take a back sit to the whims of an objectionable and obstructionist opposition and those who support and egg them on…
President Obama would have to be an utter fool to risk the health of his marriage to try to cater to people who will never really opt to work with him…
And all these suggestions ironically coming *after* he wins re-election in spite of them – and with the knowledge that he will not be running for office ever again…
How do these people come up with this stuff…
don’t watch them, don’t listen to them, filter them, and share with us the good stuff you hear. No good stuff? Well then that old saying ‘if you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything’ applies.
why are you watching them? We know they will create a controversy where none exists.
That button on the remote, saying “Power”…. It’s more than a hint! ;)
Yardarm I turned it over to the DIY network and have Mike Holmes fixing stuff. It’s a lot more happy
I think the sun is brighter and even the birds in the backyard are singing merrier:)
even the cosmos is rejoicing

Absolutely beautiful, MY President, YOUR President, OUR President.
That looks like the tie he wore when giving his DNC acceptance speech. Good times.
"I did it," says the president as he gets a congratulatory hug and a kiss from each of his daughters, each beaming with pride.— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) January 20, 2013
Ugh. C-span commentary. they are quoting some bullshit article from the NYT (Jodi Stink-eye Bitch Kantor) basically calling the Obamas hypocrites, talking about how before, PBO objected to a presidential library, but now his former aide is talking about there possibly being one. Then she mentioned some other bullshit about Michelle, glasses and cherry blossoms. WTF?! Ugh. That heifer.
Their MSM is trying their best to rain on our Parade – they are failing miserably. The excitement just continues to build. Just remember that no weapon formed against this President will prosper.
Jodie Kantor is pure evil…
Her obsession with the Obamas is frighteningly psychotic…
She is that slimy, stealth neighbor who at first appears to be harmless, tries so hard to befriend you and when you choose to keep her at arms length, embarks upon an crazy obsessive stalking that ends in your family pet left boiling in a pot and wires cut in the wife’s car…
Jodi Kantor is a very sick woman and belongs in the same psychiatric ward as Maureen Dowd…
Does the New York Times have an affinity for mentally ill, obsessive, lovesick women…
You’re exactly right Chi. And the men who work at NYT are not that much different. For example, I know a lot of people love Nate Silver but he can be just as snide and nasty when it comes to PBO. He puts out articles under the guise of “analysis” usually to undermine the President. For example he put out an article yesterday about 2nd term Presidents having shorter honeymoons. In 2011, he all but declared PBO a one-term president, and only came on board late in October 2012 when it was unambiguous that PBO was going to win. Yet people seemed to want to give him credit for simply reflecting polling data – he had NO part whatsoever in Obama’s victory. Just the weekend before the election, he put out an article suggesting that PBO should pull out of Florida because he was not winning there.
Spot on about Nate Silver…
I am one of those who refused to praise or crown him after the elections simply because he momentarily came back from the dark, greedy side a week before to predict the election for President Obama…And only because contrary to his predictions and against his best efforts, President Obama was getting a second term…
Jeff Gauvin (Jefferson Obama) was also very instrumental in shaming Nate Silver by destroying his dubious methods and manipulated conclusions especially in the last two weeks before the election…
It seems to have escaped most people’s minds that Nate Silver had spent the entire time since he joined the NYtimes, perpetually undermining, dismissing and discrediting the President …
Nate Silver in his re-imagined presence in the American consciousness is an unfortunate pox on our democracy and gives smart, ethical statisticians a bad rap…
Deaniac (The People’s View) also also called out Silver for his insistence on giving equal weight to questionable GOP-sponsored polling in his models.
These slimy people have been wrong about basically everything they’ve ever opined about, and today is evidence of that – along with every single historic achievement earned by this President.
What bugs me the most is that even though Miche has come out against the book–something’s she’s never done before or after– people still got to Kantor for comments about Michelle! I don’t fricking get it! Miche has already proven that Kantor has no insider insight to the First Lady, how she thinks or how her family runs. Why is Kantor the “leading voice on the Obamas” (not an actual quote, I’m just mocking her.) ???? That really ticks me off. The other day I was over at mrs-o.com and the lady that runs it had some bullcrap article posted with quotes from that Evil Piece Of Crap. I was so disgusted.
What we do is pushback so hard at the Jodi Kantor’s of the world…
Beat her at this insidious game she’s trying to play…
We make sure everyone knows what she is and keep making sure no one is suckered into buying her farce of a book…
What she is trying to do now, a far cry from her true motives, is pretend to be on Mrs Obama’s side and taking up for her when in fact Jodie Kantor is nothing but a very twisted, sick, spiteful, greedy woman trying to worm her way into relevance and the pockets of unsuspecting consumers who will buy just about any book about the Obamas and particularly one by an author purporting to be defending Mrs Obama and whose updated and deliberately misleading media responses are designed to suggest that when in reality her book is nothing but a gossipy, slanderous hit job on the Obamas and the most important and appealing thing the Obamas have going for them – their relationship and marriage…
The truth is that Jodi Kantor cannot stand what the Obamas have going for them and is dedicated to if not completely tearing it apart, but poking as many holes in their marriage and completely tarnishing and degrading it as much as possible…
She clearly despises President Obama and is trying to use a bogus argument of a frustrated and marginalized wife in her role as First Lady, to pretend to make some twisted case for something to make a quick buck…
…..and we need to know that today, why? There has been a request that today and tomorrow be a punditt, negative, free day today and tomorrow, as we celebrate the good news. There is no reason for us to know what the crazies are saying during the most positive, uplifting time of our political lives. Posting this stuff dulls the happy of the day.
Just because its posted, doesn’t mean you have to read it, and FYI, my comment (12:06) was posted before the request was listed (12:10). However, I am more than happy to comply because today is a day for joy and reflection.
true that, i can scroll and roll past these type comments. The request was originally made by Donna yesterday and brought over to several threads since then. You may not have seen it. I was not trying to censure, just trying to keep it uplifting and positive for the next couple of days. we good, no problems
I definitely didn’t see Donna’s comment. I try to respect people’s request on stuff like this, so thanks for the reminder. We’re definitely cool though. :)
That’s why I don’t watch C-Span anymore. They have wingnuts on and fake journalists from wingnut rags on spouting the most vile and bitter lies, and the C-Span crew just sit there expressionless, pretending to be neutral and pretending that what they are hearing and also participating in is not equally vile. They need to be taxed, or they need to go back to being neutral. They are also quoting fake papers like the Washington Times.
The demise of C-span is a tragedy in itself…
OK it’s official.
I’ll be candid…. this was kind of… short !! It’s the official one, the legal one, but there was no protocol at all. It felt a bit strange.
You could sense the President was nervous. Justice Roberts must have been too.
“I did it” . The way he said this to his family, it was cute.
35 words. Done. There is no need for more:) Pomp and pageantry tomorrow. For show.
Tomorrow’s for the rest of us. Today was just for them. (Well, and those of us on TOD, there’s that!)
Roberts seemed more nervous to me. I think the few in the audience were on pins and needles that it’d go smoothly. PBO didn’t seem nervous to me. though he did appear relieved when it was done.
PBO loves the hell out of his family, and they love him. It was once again just on display when PBO was sworn in as POTUS!!— cjtown (@ladyc10) January 20, 2013

YES, WE CAN. YES, WE DID.
Beautiful! We are so blessed that this amazing man is our President! We are lucky indeed that he is in the White House sacrificing for America and the world each and every day. God bless President Barack Hussein Obama, the best President in my lifetime!!
Thank you, Chips. Yes We Did It!!! My thanks to all of you who were here night and day after a long day of working to get to this day, we are so grateful.
We love you, Mr. President and we will stand with you all of the way. We are grateful for this beautiful opportunity, Mr. President.HZ
No, David Gergen, you asshole, the President tried to work with the Republicans but they refused to work with him. President Obama doesn’t have to change his tone, fuck the Republicans, they are mad because he doesn’t want to play nice with their asses anymore.
Tod, please don’t let the pundits/msm steal your JOY on this great day. Turn. them. off.
They won’t steal my joy, neither will that witch Jodi Kantor.
Lawd, please say that again and again and again. This is nerve wracking. If you can’t turn them off, keep it to yourself, we don’t need to read it. It serves no purpose for the rest of us today. Zip it!
we beg you for your own sanity
I concur with your comment Hope and raise you an indeed! It is truly a day for being happy and rejoicing #HIGHFIVE :D
OK…asking again….what’s next on today’s agenda?…..do I really have to clean house until tonight’s thingy or do I spend the afternoon reading OFA legacy tweets or just hang out with y’all waiting…
Bask in the warm glow of this moment in history, kat!
Unless you’re out of clean underwear. Then by all means, laundry first. :-)
or she could just walk around all commando like. We won’t tell.
hmmmm…decisions, decisions…..I think I’ll clean house in 30 min stretches…check with y’all to see what I’m missing……I mean, PBO deserves a clean, organized house tomorrow to welcome his first full day of his second term…..now if I could just figure out how to really clean the house he will have to deal with……….
Egg.selent plan…..I think I’ll do the same. :)
No. here’s what you do. Open up as many tabs as you can on your ‘puter then go find as many links as you can. Have them all playing and spend the rest of the day reliving the moments of the day. Periodically check back here for the latest and greatest. Be warned though, all that cleaning stuff will be waiting for you, when all the festivities are done. Unlike PBO and FLOTUS, there’s no one back at the house keeping everything all neat and clean while we’re off making history.
Wonder if Chief Justice Roberts knew when he donned the robes that he’d be swearing in President Barack Hussein Obama FOUR TIMES (three, so far – the big one tomorrow)!
Not to mention that then Senator Obama did not vote for Roberts.
And I laugh.

Watched the Obama inauguration in a DC diner (on CNN, obviously) and the whole place erupted into wild applause and cheers. #democratdiner— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) January 20, 2013
Ugh. was he really in a diner? Does he know what one looks like? Is he sure he doesn’t mean the hotel dining room? :|
Lisa, it’s probably one of those retro upscale diners that make the DC elite feel hip.
Ah! Makes so much sense now!
No, he isn’t. We don’t have diners in DC (not even upscale ones). Now, if the term “diner” is used to by the British to refer to any type of restaurant, then that’s another story.
Piers Morgan is beginning to understand that his sulking, deranged guests don’t necessarily represent the American people and their thoughts and support of President and Mrs Obama…
He will be getting an education these next 48 hours…
Sorry, Piers, but we don’t have diners in DC. That’s one of the biggest differences between NYC and DC.
Think about this for a moment if you will, the Chief Supreme Court Justice of the United States of America just swore in a Black President with the name Hussein.
Three times and tomorrow will the be fourth! One of the history books… Which President was sworn in four times – Two at each inauguration!!!

Hmmm? She had heart issues just two yrs ago. I don’t like her. However, I wish her well…..she’s in her 80s now. Be well, Ms. Walters. Four yrs ago….it was the Lion of the senate, Teddy Kennedy and Robert Byrd. I certainly wish she recovers very soon.
Yeah, she’ll be 84 this year. She was born the same year as my father.

I hear that. Only there will be a firestorm of hate towards any ex-boyfriend/singer. They will be burning his records in the streets. Calling him a bully for picking on a sweet little girl like that…..she’ll be crying and complaining too. Her time will come when the world will see her for what she is, a cry baby when things don’t go her way.
Did she break up with another one?
allright allright I GOTTA clean this house…..
I know the feeling…dust bunnies everywhere….and the multiply like bunnies, too:)

Good on Malia for remixing the cobalt dress she wore to the DNC. Still very pretty. Sasha’s purple dress reminds me of the one she wore in the Christmas photo last year and I like the gold belt.
This just makes me deliriously happy and weepy! YAY! He did it. Congratulations, Mr. President.
O happy day, friends!
Let’s stay together!!! Woot!
