Thanks so much for posting. Could weep through the whole thing. The win in 2008 and the first inauguration in 2009 were glorious and so is this day and tomorrow will be. In years to come, history will record beyond the current biased and lazy current pundits (who seem to simply regurgitate the last negative pundit sound bite) what we already know as truth: that President Obama as president has been one of the greatest

It’s is DONE! It is WELL!

In 1873, Horatio Spafford wrote the words to the hymn “It is Well with My Soul” after the tragic death of his four daughters. (He wrote it on the ocean while sailing near the
spot where his daughters died.)Very moving.

Thanks, Dudette for posting this song. That is my Favorite song of my songs that I sang and still do to this day. I am crying now because it always brings back beautiful memories of my mother and grandmother. It is my “faith song of my life.” Thanks so much for sharing with our TOD Family.

It is Well With POB’s soul, I feel it from his spirit. His mother, father, grandmother, and grandfather are not here to participate in this wonderful and glorious history, but without them, we would not be enjoying these very emotional and historical moments of his life. POB is going to be just fine.

I also love the fact that the Bible that he used this morning is the Bible of his father-in-law, First Lady’s father who did not get to see all of this as well. However, Mr. Robinson was there again this morning. Just visualize the pages of that Bibles has the hand prints of his father-in law all over them.
What a beautiful memory for our First Daughters of that family Bible of their grandfather being used in the swearing in of their father’s second term.. HZ

Speaking of “Sunday Morning,” I’m watching my recording of that CBS program. Even there, it was suggested (I think – barely listening) that, like Thomas Jefferson, President Obama should invite a member of Congress to eat dinner with him at the White House every night. TOTAL UNADULTERATED BULLCRAP. That’s it for me on the political punditry for the day. Enjoy yours, Yardarm!

That’s one of the things that bugs me most about this socialize or else chit chat…

It completely discounts his wife – the First Lady, like she is not an integral part of this entire effort and marriage…

Like this is just up to the President and there are no considerations for his partner – that this can simply be imposed upon her and that her needs don’t matter and must take a back sit to the whims of an objectionable and obstructionist opposition and those who support and egg them on…

President Obama would have to be an utter fool to risk the health of his marriage to try to cater to people who will never really opt to work with him…

And all these suggestions ironically coming *after* he wins re-election in spite of them – and with the knowledge that he will not be running for office ever again…

How do these people come up with this stuff…

          Absolutely insane…

Ugh. C-span commentary. they are quoting some bullshit article from the NYT (Jodi Stink-eye Bitch Kantor) basically calling the Obamas hypocrites, talking about how before, PBO objected to a presidential library, but now his former aide is talking about there possibly being one. Then she mentioned some other bullshit about Michelle, glasses and cherry blossoms. WTF?! Ugh. That heifer.

    • 120 Chi
      January 20, 2013 at 12:19 pm

      Jodie Kantor is pure evil…

Her obsession with the Obamas is frighteningly psychotic…

She is that slimy, stealth neighbor who at first appears to be harmless, tries so hard to befriend you and when you choose to keep her at arms length, embarks upon an crazy obsessive stalking that ends in your family pet left boiling in a pot and wires cut in the wife’s car…

Jodi Kantor is a very sick woman and belongs in the same psychiatric ward as Maureen Dowd…

Does the New York Times have an affinity for mentally ill, obsessive, lovesick women…

      • 121 hopefruit2
        January 20, 2013 at 12:30 pm

You’re exactly right Chi. And the men who work at NYT are not that much different. For example, I know a lot of people love Nate Silver but he can be just as snide and nasty when it comes to PBO. He puts out articles under the guise of “analysis” usually to undermine the President. For example he put out an article yesterday about 2nd term Presidents having shorter honeymoons. In 2011, he all but declared PBO a one-term president, and only came on board late in October 2012 when it was unambiguous that PBO was going to win. Yet people seemed to want to give him credit for simply reflecting polling data – he had NO part whatsoever in Obama’s victory. Just the weekend before the election, he put out an article suggesting that PBO should pull out of Florida because he was not winning there.

        • 122 Chi
          January 20, 2013 at 12:49 pm

          Spot on about Nate Silver…

I am one of those who refused to praise or crown him after the elections simply because he momentarily came back from the dark, greedy side a week before to predict the election for President Obama…And only because contrary to his predictions and against his best efforts, President Obama was getting a second term…

Jeff Gauvin (Jefferson Obama) was also very instrumental in shaming Nate Silver by destroying his dubious methods and manipulated conclusions especially in the last two weeks before the election…

It seems to have escaped most people’s minds that Nate Silver had spent the entire time since he joined the NYtimes, perpetually undermining, dismissing and discrediting the President …

Nate Silver in his re-imagined presence in the American consciousness is an unfortunate pox on our democracy and gives smart, ethical statisticians a bad rap…

          • 123 hopefruit2
            January 20, 2013 at 12:57 pm

Deaniac (The People’s View) also also called out Silver for his insistence on giving equal weight to questionable GOP-sponsored polling in his models.

        • 124 Theo67
          January 20, 2013 at 12:53 pm

These slimy people have been wrong about basically everything they’ve ever opined about, and today is evidence of that – along with every single historic achievement earned by this President.

      • 125 lisalovesobama
        January 20, 2013 at 12:30 pm

What bugs me the most is that even though Miche has come out against the book–something’s she’s never done before or after– people still got to Kantor for comments about Michelle! I don’t fricking get it! Miche has already proven that Kantor has no insider insight to the First Lady, how she thinks or how her family runs. Why is Kantor the “leading voice on the Obamas” (not an actual quote, I’m just mocking her.) ???? That really ticks me off. The other day I was over at mrs-o.com and the lady that runs it had some bullcrap article posted with quotes from that Evil Piece Of Crap. I was so disgusted.

        • 126 Chi
          January 20, 2013 at 1:10 pm

What we do is pushback so hard at the Jodi Kantor’s of the world…

Beat her at this insidious game she’s trying to play…

We make sure everyone knows what she is and keep making sure no one is suckered into buying her farce of a book…

What she is trying to do now, a far cry from her true motives, is pretend to be on Mrs Obama’s side and taking up for her when in fact Jodie Kantor is nothing but a very twisted, sick, spiteful, greedy woman trying to worm her way into relevance and the pockets of unsuspecting consumers who will buy just about any book about the Obamas and particularly one by an author purporting to be defending Mrs Obama and whose updated and deliberately misleading media responses are designed to suggest that when in reality her book is nothing but a gossipy, slanderous hit job on the Obamas and the most important and appealing thing the Obamas have going for them – their relationship and marriage…

The truth is that Jodi Kantor cannot stand what the Obamas have going for them and is dedicated to if not completely tearing it apart, but poking as many holes in their marriage and completely tarnishing and degrading it as much as possible…

She clearly despises President Obama and is trying to use a bogus argument of a frustrated and marginalized wife in her role as First Lady, to pretend to make some twisted case for something to make a quick buck…

That’s why I don’t watch C-Span anymore. They have wingnuts on and fake journalists from wingnut rags on spouting the most vile and bitter lies, and the C-Span crew just sit there expressionless, pretending to be neutral and pretending that what they are hearing and also participating in is not equally vile. They need to be taxed, or they need to go back to being neutral. They are also quoting fake papers like the Washington Times.

hmmmm…decisions, decisions…..I think I’ll clean house in 30 min stretches…check with y’all to see what I’m missing……I mean, PBO deserves a clean, organized house tomorrow to welcome his first full day of his second term…..now if I could just figure out how to really clean the house he will have to deal with……….

No. here’s what you do. Open up as many tabs as you can on your ‘puter then go find as many links as you can. Have them all playing and spend the rest of the day reliving the moments of the day. Periodically check back here for the latest and greatest. Be warned though, all that cleaning stuff will be waiting for you, when all the festivities are done. Unlike PBO and FLOTUS, there’s no one back at the house keeping everything all neat and clean while we’re off making history.

Wonder if Chief Justice Roberts knew when he donned the robes that he’d be swearing in President Barack Hussein Obama FOUR TIMES (three, so far – the big one tomorrow)!

No, he isn’t. We don’t have diners in DC (not even upscale ones). Now, if the term “diner” is used to by the British to refer to any type of restaurant, then that’s another story.

Piers Morgan is beginning to understand that his sulking, deranged guests don’t necessarily represent the American people and their thoughts and support of President and Mrs Obama…

He will be getting an education these next 48 hours…

Sorry, Piers, but we don’t have diners in DC. That’s one of the biggest differences between NYC and DC.

It really chaps my ass that the History Channel would be showing George & Laura Bush during a day that our 45th President of The United States of America, a black man I might add, was sworn into his 2nd term as President. THAT is history, not a treasonous president! grrrrrr!!

I hear that. Only there will be a firestorm of hate towards any ex-boyfriend/singer. They will be burning his records in the streets. Calling him a bully for picking on a sweet little girl like that…..she’ll be crying and complaining too. Her time will come when the world will see her for what she is, a cry baby when things don’t go her way.
