Hey guys, I just had to go check wikipedia about the crowds for both GWBs inaugurations. They were both under 400,000. What a difference

How excited they all must be to be in the Parade and can catch a glimpse of POTUS & FLOTUS looking at them go by!

  6. January 21, 2013 at 5:34 pm

    A) Twitter is sucking right now.
    B) VA GOP Senators passed a redistricting of Senate seats while Dem state senators were in DC for the inauguration. It’s beginning.

Alright the civil rights float featuring LBGT band. Not something you have ever seen in a US presidential inauguration parade before now FOR SURE!

  16. January 21, 2013 at 5:47 pm

An inaugural official told reporters that “at least” 1 million people were on the National Mall for President Obama’s swearing in ceremony.

Hispanic dancers from Utah. I wonder who did the choosing for this parade. Remember they received thousands of application and could only pick so many. I like their choices.

Twitter sends out this accounting of tweets during President Obama’s inaugural ceremony at the Capitol on Monday. They topped out at 27,795 per minute when Obama said “We cannot mistake absolutism for principle, or substitute spectacle for politics, or treat name-calling as reasoned debate.”

    January 21, 2013 at 5:53 pm

President Obama went all in in his address. All the emoprogs will be just as fubared as the oldcranky party…..and neither has a leg to stand on. Bring it to the people, Mr President! We stand with you! You tried to change it from the inside. You reached out and time and time again ….Disrespect, but there are more of us than there is of them!

        You are so right.

Remember during the 08 campaign when McCain was bragging about his bracelet from a military mom like that made him the cat’s meow and during a debate a very quietly PBO (then sen) lifts up his arm and says I have one too and just went on with the conversation. Almost like ‘proceed gov’. McCain was speechless because he had been bragging about how he was the choice of military everywhere. Obama was just so quiet about it, if McCain hadn’t been so obnoxious I don’t think we would never have known.

Best friend just came from spending last several hours at car dealer getting a repair done. Had me cracking up over the fact that she was the only black person in the lounge for most of the afternoon, and the tv was on a marathon of “Lizard Lick Towing”. [I'd never heard of that show -- apparently it's popular in certain circles] Anyway, she said you could just tell the crowd in there would not be anxious to see the Inauguration festivities today, so she didn’t bother asking anyone to change the channel. She was glad she brought her iPad with her to do some work and follow the news while she was there.

She got a kick out of watching this one other black lady patron come in. BF said “I knew she was gonna make a beeline for the TV”. She came marching down the hall like she couldn’t wait to get to it. She came around the corner and stopped dead in her tracks — shocked to see the goofy reality show instead of the news. Put her hand on her hip, looked around the room.”
BFF said “I lowered my head and went back to focusing on my iPad (as if to say “don’t look at me”). Poor lady just walked off in a huff.

What can I say? We’re in Georgia.
