Congrats on #1 Bob! You’re number 1 in the Twitterverse my friend. well. you and UT how’s that? And Chips!!! Lover-ly to see so many beautiful pictures of our POTUS and FLOTUS. They are an example of a great team, great friends and of course great love.
I think some of the Chi’s concern–ill founded as it may be–fails to recognize the difference between now and 2009. Michelle had been blasted during the 2008 campaign and I suspect PBO was concerned about how Washington would treat her and thus perhaps he felt more protective. Since then, she has become a powerhouse in her own right. There can be little doubt how much he relies on her but he knows she is formidable to the politicians and well loved. Just my 2 cents, and about as worthless:-)
Chica, these pictures are AWESOME!!! Love them! Especially the one that I’m calling “The hands” — PBO to FLOTUS to Mrs. Robinson all taking care of each other.
From the last thread (I’m never on the right one!)

I think the new incarnation of OFA should start with a vote of âmembersâ about our privacy and/or a petition to keep our info out of the hands of the DNC, the DCCC, Daily Kos, the emo⌠whatever it is you all call the PL criers! Is there anyone here who can get to the people recently put in charge to say we would strenuously object to being sold to these other groups? WE THE PEOPLE should tell these groups to back off⌠thatâs what the new OFA is about. If we canât pull together to get they idiots on âour sideâ to back off, what can we hope to do against the absolute devils in the GOP?? Just wondering. Maybe a tweet to the leaders of these groups from one of our expert tweeters is in order?
PS. Great photos on this thread, Chips, to silence the complaints about Barack Obama mistreating his Michelle!
See my reply to you on the last thread. If you have a concern, go directly to OFA via their site on the ‘contact us’ page and let them know. Let’s not start a-twitting and a-twatting for the whole world to see any discord among the troops. We can hardly afford to start talking about separating and weeding out folks, before the organization even get off the ground. Why give anyone an opportunity to point to infighting. Not everything has to be shared with the world. By all means, let them know. Here’s the link to the old Organizing for America, but I’m guessing if you sent them something on this link, it’d get to the right person: http://www.barackobama.com/contact-us?source=footer-nav
Good point, well taken. Thanks. I was really just responding to all the talk already going on, but your idea is much better (and more subtle) than mine. Honor is due. This is why I’m a lurker! LOL.
Oh do continue to comment. Your opinion is welcome and it requires no pause on your part. We welcome viewpoints other than our own. It’d be pretty dull around here if we just echoed each other all the time. For me, there’s no better way to grow than to consider ideas of others. That’s why I try to listen to certain unpopular pundits with an open mind and consideration. So remain delurked.
Precious, wonderful, heartwarming. Their love and their family’s love warm up the screen, the room, the country, the world. Thankful for this sweet, moving essay. We are so lucky to be led by them, to be witness to such wisdom and generosity of spirit, to have their example of how to do family, romance, partnership, parenthood, real everyday life. Grateful for another treasure. Do not know how you do this but thankful you do.
OK, I’m confused….who’s Chi…when did Chi?…Did I pass out or something?…I thought the last post thingy was about HRC and the dumb as.s…Who on earth would come on THIS blog and have the nerve to make up rumours abt PBO and Michelle?…AND why would you all care to elevate this Chi person to so much importance to keep on talking about it….Please explain…my brain is really fried…..along with my fingers…
Kk and bet, you just missed a stupid observation by someone I know nothing about either. Not worth your time to hear more. Sending all my love to the Obama family. Including Mrs. Robinson. Don’t see her often enough. Wish Bo could have been in parade, just for fun. He must have had fun at after party! đđđkisses all around. I am getting fresh perch for dinner. Straight from the icy waters of WY.
I just finished reading the comments two threads back. Actually Chi is a TOD regular who is normally a staunch defender of PBO, so I’m not sure what caused him/her to have that perception of Michelle being ignored by PBO.
I saw something quite different from all the inaugural events and interactions. In fact I distinctly recall him kissing her spontaneously when they were in the parade observation area (not the kissing for Sasha’s camera), when no one was looking, and I mentioned it to one of my family members at the time (I remember saying “oooh he just kissed her – he couldn’t wait!” with a silly grin on my face). And throughout the entire set of events leading up to the day itself, it looked like PBO was extremely attentive to FLOTUS. He couldn’t keep his hands off her on Saturday while they were doing the volunteer work!!! Sooooo many of us ended up on the naughty mat that day – Yardarm ran out of supplies!!

I want to thank all TODsters and the supercalifragilisticespialidocious Chips for bringing me into every moment Monday even though I had no tv and limited Internet. I could read your words and descriptions and that was plenty. I listened to the oath and the wonderful speech on NPR, which did a fine job of not over-punditing, and after 11 pm I had stronger Internet and could catch up on the pictures. What a community!
Chips, you are the best, and always will be in my heart. Trying to catch up and nurse my gut at the same time. My brother got me another laptop and it is beautiful, but so sensitive. My letters skip all over the place. I guess that I need to type lighter on the keys. It is driving me nuts. Any suggestions TOD tech smarts? I will appreciate every pointers. I am not computer savvy.
Chips, everything is so beautiful. ((((((((((((((((( Thank you my special angel)))))))))))))))))HZ
Thanks for all the photos Chips—–as my niece would say, “You’re the bestest”!
I just had to chime in on the lunch photo…….the cameras for the Inaugural lunch just quickly popped back on while dessert was endingâFLOTUSâ dessert plate was barely eaten (she may have been mingling like last time and barely had time to finish), but we have no idea what was really going on. FLOTUS was leaned up eating while I saw PBO and Boehner conversing behind her backâ-my husband and I call this ârunning interferenceâ because we do this when I need a break from my âseat mateâ at a dinner or function. (I saw PBO doing this at least twice when the camera came on)…..In my case, I will either take a bathroom break or nibble on food or read a program and thatâs my husbandâs cue to take over for awhile so I can get my bearings. I also observed the First Lady give long and gripping hugs as she left the table to Boehner and Cantorâs wives. She was truly warm with them and they seemed to light up with her though not with their husbands (FLOTUS probably felt so sorry for them). But the tension I noticed between the Boehners was very striking. The Cantors looked a little more at ease with each other. (I was noticing all of this while the speeches and toasts were being made). Another thing came to mindâŚ..this lunch was right before they drove and walked down amongst the crowds. They walked out of the limo only once this time. They did it twice I believe in 2009. We have no idea what Mrs. O was thinking or feeling at the time or if she was feeling tense at the lunchâI donât know. I would but then thatâs projecting my feelings on to Mrs. Obama. Maybe she will tell us one day. All I know is I saw a very loving couple that were probably happy at times, tired at times, relieved at times, tense at times, nervous at times, annoyed at times (like we all are)âŚâŚ.but truly in love with one another and Iâm so glad I was able to witness every ounce of their affection and humanness on that great day.
P.S. I was so surprised to recently find out that even the President and VP only get about 40 tickets for the Inaugural lunch—-it’s their day but apparently the bipartisan Congresscritters are in charge of the lunch by tradition.
Each time they got out of the limo, my husband got so nervous! “Get back in, get back in.” he’d say. I told him, “Relax, the silver fox is there!” I loved their relaxation and ease this inauguration…..it was good to see.
Someone mentioned the picture she calls “the hands”….PBO, MO and Mrs. Robinson…each with arm around the one on the right, walking in sync. That is a dear, beautiful picture, which represents the care and love of that family beautifully.
Janelle, since Jill Biden was acutely aware of Michelle’s discomfort with Boehner, I can just imagine the powder room talk that went on when they got together after lunch. Jill has probably been in a lot of these spots in her long years as a Senate wife. I’ll be she has stories that would make Boehner’s juvenile antics seem like a choir boy’s.
So, I finally read the controversial comments from 2 threads ago. I won’t pile on, but the thoughts expressed didn’t reflect what I saw on Monday. I distinctly remember someone on MSNBC or CNN commenting on how in love the Obamas always act, and how it was on full display during the festivities. So there is that.
OK, I found it am just perplexed as to how I missed that whole thing that seemed to be right at the beginning of the hearings…anyhow….My observations…….this person must have been treated in a disrespectful manner by a sig. other and transferring those anxieties onto people(Obamas) that he/she doesn’t even know…..I found it rather sad that someone would be so involved and invested in other people’s personal lives….It appears to me that Michelle Obama in a smart, beautiful, savvy woman who is quite capable of taking care of herself….and….I watched every single minute of EVERYTHING on tv and streaming and didn’t see not one single incident of PBO doing or not doing anything remotely questionable..except chewing damn gum…and this person could not have known what went on during luncheon unless they were there, up close and personal…because it was NOT televised or streamed……..and furthermore combined with watching idiots all day and then reading that stuff until my eyes crossed…….I NEED ANOTHER BRANDY ALEXANDER
put a couple cup(pint maybe) Bryer’s natural vanilla ice cream in blender…add a shot glass full apple Brandy and shot glass full creme de cocao…blend…..drink…..type pubic instead of public
Lol, sounds a little too sweet for my liking, but I’m sure it’s delicious!!! And as Cookemom said, you will go down in history for that little slip up!!
Been out all day…didn’t know if anyone saw this. One party (ours) trying to include everyone in the voting process, as is our right in our democracy…the other party…..gerrymanders to death and wants to disenfranchise as many people as possible. Sinful and anti American. Any questions?
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are to human beings living human lives as best they can. I am truly grateful that I am living to see these two incredible people (the LORD made) do what they do (and they do it well). Thank you Chips for a wonderful gift…this site is amazing!
What would I do without your site, Chips? Probably run through the streets naked cause I’m this close…and so done with dumb rock pubs and their hatred of America. Keep up the good work mami…
So, on another front, it seems increasingly likely that Bibi Netanyahu will actually have to follow through and forme a broad coalition, as he doesn’t have the votes otherwise. The most logical partner would be the new centrist bloc of Yair Lapid. He’s already said that he’s not interested in forming an “anti-Netanyahu” bloc, but wants to be in government. His price, though, is steep: an immediate resumption of meaningful peace talks, and a curtailing of the special privileges accorded to the ultra Orthodox. I don’t think BIbi would normally have the balls to do that, but he may have no choice. Lapid came out as the kingmaker in these elections, and Bibi will have to meet his price if he wants to remain PM.
” The upshot is that any such a center-right coalition will be living on borrowed time. Its self-destructive mechanism will be implanted at its core from day one. Its continued existence will be predicated on continued and total paralysis on the Palestinian front, a prospect that seems unrealistic, even if the Iranian issue assumes center stage.
The key to the longevity of whatever new government Netanyahu forms, therefore, rests in the hands of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and U.S. President Barack Obama just as much, if not more, than in those of the politicians who will eventually affix their names to any coalition agreement. This, in and of itself, is enough to keep Netanyahu awake at nights for some time to come.”
So freaking true. Bibi tried to screw Pres. Obama’s re-election chances with his partnership and continued vocal support of Romney and disrespect of Pres. Obama. Once again, Pres. Obama indirectly comes out the winner and Bibi may once again need his help.
it will be very interesting to see the direction Israel politics takes from here out – so many challenges yet so many factions who are focused on their point of view and goals
Somebody help me here. I’m not getting all of the attention this picture has garnered. Camera angles can portray stuff that may have or not have happened as they appear. It’s a moment in time. I can’t believe that FLOTUS thought anything of it then, and would be saying, ‘huh?’ if she knew what’s going on around it now. The narrative has gone from PBO has all but wrestled her to the ground to prevent her from smacking the orange off Boehner, to her being found in a lump somewhere in the Cathedral sobbing like a baby. Good lawd, and I thought we put our hair out after the big win.
As a photographer, I strongly agree. PBO could have been saying he was heading for the men’s room for all we know. An indoor photo captures maybe 1/125 of a second of a facial expression.
.and no one in the universe makes this crybaby nonsense an issue!!!!!! but, Michelle gets an eyelash in her eye, rolls it to stop from hurting – millions declare she’s dittzing Boner.
Okay….another topic for a minute…..I heard Tweety’s lead in at the end of Rev. Al before we clicked to local news. It was “Hillary kicks butt. Time for Hardball.”
Great pics Chips. Thank you for making the day(s) even more enjoyable. My thoughts on the thread with Chi’s comment. Agree with her or not, the comment didnt warrant being called a liar. I believe whether you agree with a poster or not, everyone on the blog should be respectful of others opinions….just my opinion.
It was the doubling down, after being challenged to show evidence or just stop. There was plenty of opportunity to back it up or back off of it. At some point it did become a lie, or at least it became apparent that there would be no factual basis to continue to make the ill-found claim. It’s that whole ‘if you find yourself in a hole, stop digging’ thing that went unheeded.
Oh how I love our TOD family. This reminds me of awhile back. I believe it was that memorable Thanksgiving of ’32. Uncle WhatYouTalkinBout was left alone in the cellar before dinner. He then decided to regale us all with his infinite wisdom on all matters large and small.
From the outside “reading in” Chi did support her opinion with evidence. She said its what she saw. I just think if others didnt see that or interpret it the same than people should just agree to disagree and move on. Somebody’s opinion can’t be a lie. It’s just not how you saw it…Anyway, just my opinion and I’m sure you guys will work it out.
Well, ol’ Uncle WhatYouTalkinBout would have had this advise for the party in question, “When you don’t know if you’re on foot or horseback, accept the offered ride home”
While the First Couple were dancing I noticed PBOs hand slip down on that chiffon and velvet dress. Saw an up close photo of dress and the hand work is beautiful. Jason Wu called it Ruby in case you were trying to decide the color. Cameras distort things. In some photos her coat looks navy blue and in others, gray.
ooh, yeah. That was a very, very, classy booty grab. But it WAS a booty grab, no doubt. Change the lighting and slow down the music? They woulda been slow draggin’ LOLOLOL’
And who could blame him? I know very happily married men that would pay HUGE sums of money to do that.
We called it ‘grinding’ in my day. Lights low and everybody coupled off together, with a slow jam playing. You just kind of stood there and swayed to the music. A guy feeling his oats would actually throw in a hip swirl, double back thrusting move. The ‘fast’ girls would grind back. LOL! I was grinding with cookeman even then.
OMG & LOL….I didnt know that Jodi Kantor person is on this blog. Sorry, I had to put that dig in there. Oh well.
Now, I get the pictures. Very clever, Chips. Lets be good. Remember our true enemy will always be divsion – house divided can not fight the enermy. Have a food night all. I am still pooped from Monday. Getting old, I guess…
If Cookeman was that attentive to me, I’d be like, would…you…get…off….me. I know, I know, it sounds ungrateful, but I need some daylight between us during the daytime. However, I don’t need any light between us at nighttime!

I landed at home about an hour ago and found that the wifey unit and the daughter unit turned the tables on me and pulled their own surprise on me with a welcoming Happy 25h anniversary decal and decorating streamers around the house and gifts.
Turns out daughter spilled the beans under wifey’s 3rd degree interrogation (starting with did you talk to your dad?) and they decided to take the typical wimmin’s “revenge” route.
wow, congrats. Now why would you think you could outsmart her? She’s one of those wimmin afterall. Not to mention, you were out numbered on this one. A toast to you and your bride.
Go on…. You are grateful and thrilled that your missus has put up with your sorry ass this long! Congratulations, amk, and here’s to another 25! Congratulations and very well done, indeed!
I’ve been married for 32 years (to the same man!) I keep reminding him that we’ve been married so long because I have such a damn good sense of humor:) I love him. He makes me laugh….and he helped make some damn great kids. Cute ones, too! And smart!
Amk, the resident tech. I need your help. Firefox won’t load. I downloaded the latest version. But before that it would not load. The only browser that we can open is Safari. Not even IE will load. Any suggestions. Thanks Mae
They have been friends, lovers, and spouses for over 20 years. They have spoken/written of the ups and downs that they have experienced as any other couple has. Neither is perfect, but what you see is what you get: a relationship where there is fun (they each have spoken about the laughter), respect, mature love, and great sexual attraction (sometimes you can almost see the steam). These photos and all of the others that we have pored over since 2008 tell the story. Thanks for the beautiful photos, Chips.
‘ âBy lip-synching the national anthem, BeyoncĂŠ has cast a dark cloud over the Presidentâs second term,â said Sen. Rand Paul (R-Kentucky). âThe only way President Obama can remove that cloud is by resigning from office at once.â
While many in the media have blamed BeyoncĂŠ for the lip-synching controversy, Mr. Paul said, âWe must remember that this happened on President Obamaâs watch.â ‘
@TheRevAl We are only 3 days into @BarackObama's 2nd term; I couldn't give a rat's azz about 2016. You are better than that!— Alycee (@jazziz2) January 23, 2013
Not sure why the Beyonce thing is such a big deal. After all, I watched Rand Paul lip sync Sean Hannity on the TV this morning.— AnotherObamaMama47% (@ObamaOyeah) January 24, 2013
Totally in a chuckle over that shot of Sasha taking a picture of the inside of Malia’s mouth! It must have been so much fun inside that viewing stand, long day, and hard work, but fun! (has anyone else thought of a title for a book: “Blondie and The SilverFox”?) (Catchy eh ?)
Pamela, there was just such beautiful pictures of the Obama family. The one of Sasha resting on her big sister Malia. The one of Sasha trying to get a picture of her parents kissing.
Pamela, in motion, that was actually Malia photobombing Sasha trying to take a picture of their mom & dad kissing. It was still great evidence of them both being typical teenagers! Exactly what a big sister would do to a little sister!! LOLOLOL
Actually Pamela, Sasha was trying to take a picture of her parents speaking but Malia hilariously photobombed the picture and Pres. Obama and First Lady Michelle kissed twice again so Sasha could take the picture.
Agree with you on that. If we are so intolerant we attack and name call at somebody who expresses an opinion different than ours, we are no better than DK or the RW blogs. Specially when it is purely opinion being offered. Of course, some of the name calling went the other way too.
The fact is, what happened over the last coule days will be well recorded when their (not just his) memoirs come out. I am pretty sure that luncheon particularly will be part of the discussion. So I will withhold any judgements until then.
“If we are so intolerant we attack and name call at somebody who expresses an opinion different than ours, we are no better than DK or the RW blogs. ”
Exactly japa21!
Can I assume we'll have House hearings on Beyonce lip-synching before we have House hearings on gun violence?— Liberal Librarian (@Lib_Librarian) January 24, 2013
Of course, it’s only logical after all. They will find any and all ways possible to squander taxpayer money while collecting their pay and benefits, and avoiding anything remotely like working for We The People. The end is nigh, these old ways of treachery are coming to an end. I’m sure of it.
Well you could assume that, but there’s still that matter of FLOTUS spending $80,248,962,428,948,663 of the ‘Murican tax payers money for a vacation trip during the first term. That still needs some looking into.
Boy I was thinking the same thing CEB. Patrick is a keeper in so many ways–smart, good-looking, a terrific orator, great governor and a foot massager. Who could ask for more?
The ship of change is slow indeed but luckily we have a captain with vision and foresight to predict and guide toward the right course.
“On health care, the ‘arc of partisan fever is beginning to recede’”
Steve Benen
While conservatives may be loath to admit it, “Obamacare” is moving forward, and even many Republican policymakers are grudgingly hopping on the advancing train. USA Today noted developments at the state level.
Two months ago, Republican opposition was virtually uniform across the country. But cracks are appearing and they will widen, predicts Larry Jacobs, director of the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota. “The arc of partisan fever is beginning to recede, and pragmatism is beginning to come to the fore,” he says.”
Well, I’ve not come down from cloud nine yet. I went to DC and got to see our brilliant, magnificent, phenomenal President get sworn in for the second time. And I got to see our First Couple dance at the inaugural ball. It was the most magical time. Our President is just so smoooooth. FLOTUS is so gorgeous. We are so blessed to have these two. But I don’t have to tell you guys that. I will never forget the trip.
Now we must keep working against the GOP lies and obstruction. If you haven’t joined Organizing for Action, please consider it. We have to help our President move the agenda for the American people forward. The clown show today at the hearings was another example of the ignorant, bigoted people the GOP have in Congress. Please, please join and help. Also, we need to flood Harry Reid with calls and tell him we will not accept anything less than filibuster reform that will make sure our President’s agenda can move forward. Our hard work and our President’s hard work cannot be in vain.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY,…..HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU AMK……..ta da da da…….may you both have many years of peace and love.
A couple goes out to dinner to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
On the way home, she notices a tear in his eye and asks if he’s getting sentimental because they’re celebrating 35 wonderful years together.
He replies, “No, I was thinking about the day before we got married. Your father threatened me with a shotgun and said he’d have me thrown in jail for 25 years if I didn’t marry you. Tomorrow I would’ve been a free man!”
Read much longer version and almost posted it. Decided it wasn’t funny coming from me. Your newlyweds. We’re going on 42. Feb. 14, 1970, we had our first date.
Oh lord. Haven’t missed a beat I see with the cornball jokes. It’s like you never left. Oh wait…. Many congrats on your silver jubilee anniversary. May you and Mrs. Amk have many more. You had me chuckling how Mrs. Amk flipped the script on you and surprised YOU instead. I like her style.
I am partial to picture three too. To me, that embrace displays a bond that is able to withstand all the woes of their world, whether they be mighty or Boehner.
LOL, Chips! President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama would have to get a Room if he paid her Any More Attention at the Inauguration Festivities!
I was kind of pissed off when Dish didn’t make a deal with Time Warner Sports to carry the network and I was going to miss out on all the Laker games. Now I’m glad they saved me $4 a month.
Ok, because I know Chips is waiting, tonight’s menu:
Garlic-herbed sausages, sauteed in olive oil (best way to make them)
Roasted red potatoes
Side salad of baby greens, red onion, persian cucumber, and grape tomatoes
And I’m having a very good Spanish red table wine.
Collective thanks from missus & me to all of you TOD’ers for all your kind wishes.
Just got off the shower and am wearing an expensive full sleeved, denim shirt (50 dollars for a damned shirt? eye roll) from my daughter. Her mom got a still more expensive (more eyeroll @ kidz), beautiful saree (an indian thingy). Pity son couldn’t be here due to the semester exams.
Will see you all later.
(No, I am yet to spring my surprise gift on her. Noseyparkers/smh)
A burglar broke into a house one night. He shined his flashlight around, looking for valuables when a voice in the dark said, ‘Jesus knows you’re here.’
He nearly jumped out of his skin, clicked his flashlight off, and froze. When he heard nothing more, he shook his head and continued.
Just as he pulled the stereo out so he could disconnect the wires, clear as a bell he heard ‘Jesus is watching you.’
Startled, he shined his light around frantically, looking for the source of the voice. Finally, in the corner of the room, his flashlight beam came to rest on a parrot.
‘Did you say that?’ he hissed at the parrot.
‘Yes’, the parrot confessed, then squawked, ‘I’m just trying to warn you that he’s watching you.’
The burglar relaxed. ‘Warn me, huh? Who in the world are you?’
‘Moses,’ replied the bird.
‘Moses?’ the burglar laughed. ‘What kind of people would name a bird Moses?’
‘The kind of people who would name a Rottweiler Jesus.’

Congratulations on 25 years amk. Looking back from 47 years, I can remember the 25 year mark because I keep the picture of our anniversary dinner in the hallway. We all, hubby, kids, and I looked so GOOD and young then! Your years to come together will be richer and better,I promise. Enjoy your celebration.
Awesome pictures, Chips! But hey, I think they are all fake and that little jump FLOTUS did after seeing the picture Sasha took of her and her husband’s kiss was also fake as she just was having indigestion. SNARK!!!!!!
In all seriousness, they are without question the most gorgeous pubic couple in modern day society. The clothes she wore were so original, interesting, classy and just beautiful. I think her dress coat may have been the coolest thing ever!
I love seeing when Sasha was trying to get the picture of POTUS and FLOTUS kissing, and after Sasha got the picture, FLOTUS reach over and wipe her lipstick or gloss off of POTUS lips, it was kind of cute.

WASHINGTON â Senate Democratic and Republican leaders are nearing new limits on the filibuster in an effort to speed action in the often-clogged chamber by prohibiting senators from using a common tactic to slow the legislative process.
Lawmakers and aides said the new rules, which both sides were preparing to announce on Thursday, would end the use of a procedural tactic that forces the majority party â Democrats currently â to marshal 60 votes to even bring a bill to the floor, sometimes killing it before it ever gets debated.
The practice of blocking a procedural step known as a motion to proceed, which must be cleared before a bill can advance to the Senate floor, has been used repeatedly and with increasing frequency by Republicans, who have been in the minority since 2007. In return for agreement, Republicans wrested a major concession from the majority leader, Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, who has guaranteed that he will allow Republicans to offer two amendments.
Ok I read the whole thing and I guess I have a dumb question. Why doesn’t Beyonce say if she did or didn’t? I personally hate the thought that a once in a lifetime historic moment (even for Beyonce) wouldn’t be a real moment even if it isn’t perfect. This musician writes all this rationale on how there’s no way she way lip-syncing. I don’t get why she wouldn’t say if she did as she must have known that it would be found out sooner or later. And since this was not her event, I would think that it would have been appropriate to get the President’s staff’s ok to do it. Clearly I don’t have enough important things to think about lol…
I think ignoring the press and refusing to talk about the issue is a great way to go. The President’s inauguration and the Press talks about an eye roll and a lip sync. They deserve to be ignored and never answered.
Hay guess what? If the First Lady did roll her eyes, the First Lady join the list of people who can’t stand John Boehner. It makes me love and respect her even more. What Republican politician wouldn’t I roll my eyes at? And say afew words to them too. Heck my eyes would roll right out of my head if I saw Mitch McConnell, Eric Cantor, Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, all of them.
That makes two of us forus50! I had the same question? My thinking is she is gonna let the media hang b/c she is about to do a shit-ton of press the week prior to the Superbowl so find out who is legit and who is not. Other than that, who knows……..
Hello, everyone! Hi Chips( the best blog Queen on earth)
Wow! What a weekend. I just finished catching up on the threads. And, Chips, you have really really captured the whole essence of this wonderful event. I could not post at my hotel in D.C., due to the WiFi in certain areas. I was too excited and probably would have been a mess. Well, I do not know where to start…..except to say these are truly some exciting times in our lives. Thank you Chips and everyone here for making it special. I felt in my soul that the beautiful couple would dance to “Let’s Stay Together” even though Rev. Al Green did not do the honors. It was still beautiful to see them sing to each other. It was smooth and cool how Michelle gently brought him up to the beat. (I had to do this with my husband may times when we danced.) Sometimes, out of love, if the dance floor was crowded I would let him do it his way…..
It was about six women in our hotel room watching, waiting and anticipating the color of FLOTUS ‘ gown. The choice of colors ranged from gold, silver, blue and one bold person said, “red”. They could not believe she said, “red”. I was just about to ask her why. Then I said why not?
I mean after all who but Michelle could show Ann Romney how a red dress is supposed to be worn. Why the hell not?
So the moral of this story is real Democrats can wear the hell of out “red”. It must have had Ann up all night riding her prize horse or that fool mule of a husband she thought was going to take her to the WH.
I am over the Romneys, really I am. It is the “Start Packing” line still gets to me and that silly laugh…..(ugh!)
Damn, didn’t think about the red as “in your face,” but now that you mention it… Nancy Smash did the hell out of red during the day and FLOTUS was in “kicked your a**” red Monday night. MissAnn MUST be in a padded room right about now!
Padded room or still “Unpacking”.
I overheard two young OFA volunteers on the bus ride going downtown D.C. Saying the Romneys are not taking this very well.
Oh, I just want to add… Everything Beyonce does these days is being questioned or hated upon. Even rumors that she was not really pregnant.
There are some people who truly hate her and Jay-Z for absolutely no reason except they are jealous of the two of them.
Why does she has to come out and say anything. The more PR(thanks to the haters) the more she and he are in demand.
Is this really a matter that history will take note of? I, mean really?
In 2009 there was talk about Etta James not being asked to sing her own recorded song and Beyonce was blamed for that.
I just wish the people who are that jealous would take up singing, dancing, acting lessons and show Beyonce how it is done.
I thought so…….
Thanks Carolyn, red was the right color for so many reasons. I am so proud that Michelle was bold, daring and bad enough to wear it.
Even though I read it is “ruby”, that is close enough to “red” for me.
I agree. I don’t who started this speculation or revelation or whatever, but it just is not important. She is Beyonce! She supports our President and she walked out onto that dais looking like a million bucks! Who cares if she even sang at all? She was there to celebrate our President. She made me a fan just in the way she looked, walked and the spontaneous way she spotted the First Lady and went over to hug her and kiss her. The love was so real, I wanted to be a part of it.
Beyonce visits and sings Halo to patients in a hospital. Accompanied only a sole guitar. Check out that voice control and ease of just singing for the pure joy of it. What a good cause to boot
She walked up to the dais and commanded, demanded and owned that moment in time.
Some people in the crowd where we were stayed to the end to hear and see Beyonce sing, lip synch, sign, hold up cards….whatever!
We were up since 3:00 and we had tickets. After the President ‘s speech, we were just about done.
Thank God she was there because some people were holding on to their inner strength just to be able to stand. I thank her for a job well done, however SHE felt the need to do it.
If the President and First Lady were pleased, so am I.
Well, I haven’t caught up – I haven’t even tried- but I have finished this particular thread so I’m going to go to bed before anyone adds anything else.
I will be saying g’bye to Washington DC tomorrow and retiring to my home where I do not doubt lots of work awaits. This was a really good week which included an excellent Monday!
I had forgotten, Cookem, but I haven’t packed yet so thanks for the reminder. I tend to procrastinate when I’m not exactly sure which option to choose because when I have not choice I find it easier to make a choice! Appreciate the good travel wishes. Don’t tell the others but I actually am never easy when I’m flying. I prefer driving, when *I* am behind the wheel as it seems I have more control.
Oh my, I can surely relate to that. They call me General around my house when I get into my control mode. I’m also very analytical with pretty darn near OCD tendancies. Put all that together and flying for me feels like turning over the combination to my safe to a thief. It’s hard to be a back seat driver from row 15a. However, I do stay awake at all times so that I can send telepathic messages to the pilot.
‘However, I do stay awake at all times so that I can send telepathic messages to the pilot.’
Good lord, you are freaking me out!! I was on the point of adding that I can never sleep during a flight in my previous comment, then erased the start of the sentence so as not to let you see how much flying does bother me. Only today at lunch I was telling Theo67 that I don’t understand the ‘sense’ behind my not sleeping as that would make no difference to the outcome if something was about to happen! Of course, I never before realized my intent was to be able to ‘send telepathic messages to the pilot’. Thanks. CM, you have been a fount of wisdom and insight to me today.
BTW, are we related, twins maybe? We seem to think, behave and have things done to/for us at about the same pace. I finally managed to get the main bathroom completed and the infernal upstairs mess tidied up the day before my departure. Naturally, the whole thing starts again on my return IF I decide to start the kitchen or flooring. I plan to recover for an entire week before deciding….. unless of course the contractor offers me a deal I can’t resist.
We are indeed of like mind it seems. After meeting with the butcher the baker and the cabinet maker, I’ve decided to take a week off on any decision making about the kitchen. It seems there’s a tight corner that is next to impossible to fill with a cabinet. I’m losing way more space than I had (previous cabinets custom made when the house was built in ’32). The same custom job in will cost more than the new factory built cabinets combined. So no decisions for at least a week. btw, the cabineet manufacturer said they’d sell me a cabinet for that corner, but the door opening would only be 6 inches. I’m like “oh thanks so very much, just enough room to get my arm stuck in it”
but the door opening would only be 6 inches. Iâm like âoh thanks so very much, just enough room to get my arm stuck in itâ
Just enough room for it to be a pretend cabinet. In this age of all things fake, it might be an option to consider.
In my kitchen I have dreams of moving my fridge over to the same side as the stove so that I can remove a partial wall and add an island. Problem is these dreams are asking for a substantial cash outlay that just isn’t in the kitty, but, hey, it would look soooo pretty, and would up the value, don’t you know! This going away for a week and delaying decisions for another week upon my return are meant to give the god of means time to roll my name up to the top of his/her list so that it becomes ‘my turn’. We’ll see.
Thank you for the travel wishes, Alycee! I do need them as flying and I are not best friends.
I’m happy I met you too. Meeting up with some of you gals added to the joys of this trip. I met CollegeK tonight too and that was fun! In fact that is partly why I’m still up. She was supposed to DM me once she had arrived safely back home but she hasn’t yet. That was hours ago, so I guess she forgot since it’s not a normal activity for her to check in with me. I’ll try again tomorrow when I get home.
VC, Alycee, so good to finally meet you both.
I am so glad to have been there. I am still trying to put all of this in perspective.
Can you believe I got free tickets to see Smokey Robinson?
Gave them up because it was two other people with us. I just could not leave them out….again.
Everything just kept coming to us so flowing and freely.
Have a safe trip and take care.
Wow, LDS, it was your lucky week! It WAS good to meet all those I met. I am greedy and wanted to meet all TODobots, but maybe next time. Safe travels to you and your group too!
Good Morning, Hopef! Thanks for the traveling ‘prayer’ – much appreciated. Was hoping you would have taken a walk down/up the road to meet me, but maybe we can meet in my neck of the woods one of these days. I have a couple of hours before I have to head to the airport, so I’m planning to wander around the village for a bit. Have a great day! VC
I just watched the prayer service for the first time. It was very moving when the Preacher thanked the President, First Lady and VP Biden and Jill. Said they do not get thanked enough, that they belong to the group of public servants who truly try to make things better in the world. Recognized how much crap they have to put up with (he didn’t say “crap” he’s a preacher). It was very satisfying to hear the truth spoken so plainly.
Wonderful sermon.
I watched it again this morning also. I was very moved, especally when PBO wiped a tear from his eye. A little OT, does anyone know whether Al Gore was at the inauguration?
Thank you Alycee. These links are great. I bookmarked all of them. I loved the sermon and the home page is great. I am in the habit of posting here late at night so I didn’t see your response until just now. I wanted to thank you.. better late than never!
LOVE IT! LOVE IT! straight up after party in the White House. really liked the pix of Swizz Beat and our illustrious Prez huggin it out. Tie’s gone, tuxedo jacket’s off, looking like a casual and relaxed host of a kick ass house party. LOVE IT
this is so great–party in the room where the press questioned his sociability! but mostly, i’m so glad the family and friends of the president got to really celebrate the inauguration.
To be honest, I am totally clueless when it comes to fashion. All I know is that the First Lady looked gorgeous in 2009 and she even looked more gorgeous in that fabulous red dress this inauguration. This young man, Jason Wu, is definitely a very talented designer. FLOTUS must be commended for seeking out and honoring young talented people.
Good Morning, chickadees: what did I miss? Hope you all had a restful night. I certainly did and I feel great!!! Rise and Shine, Rise and Shine. Have a great TOD day!!!
Conclusion of article =
/…..
If young Lauren can be thinking of the President and others as she lies in a hospital bed awaiting the removal of a half of her brain, then it is the very least we can do to fight as hard as we possibly can for her and so many others.
Good morning TOD!
I am still so excited! Will I ever come down from Cloud 9?
SoS Hillary just made me so proud yesterday. The nerve of those so-called dumb asses. They all should have left when the Bushes got out of town. They are a bunch of losers. The whole lot will be exposed for who they really are before these four years are over. They met the right one. She made mince meat out of them.
McOldGrumpyMan is so pathetic. Why is he still warming a seat? GO HOME! IT IS OVER!
Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to participate in a Google “fireside hangout” focusing on gun violence at 1:45 p.m. ET Thursday. The White House announced the event’s details:

Watch the hangout with Vice President Biden live on WhiteHouse.gov, or tune in to the White House’sGoogle+ page or YouTube channel.
HRC did a great job yesterday but so sick of the 2016 talk already. My twitter TL is full of it. We just finished an election. Let’s let life and history unfold.
Add to Pres Obama's sked: At 230pm in the State Dining Room, he'll announce intent to nominate US Atty Mary Jo White as SEC Chair.— Mark Knoller (@markknoller) January 24, 2013
Well done, Chips!!!
Congrats on first our Tweeter Warrior for justice, progress, and common sense.
Thank you taiping
Congrats on #1 Bob! You’re number 1 in the Twitterverse my friend. well. you and UT how’s that?
And Chips!!! Lover-ly to see so many beautiful pictures of our POTUS and FLOTUS. They are an example of a great team, great friends and of course great love.
Thanks Chipsticks!
Hahahaha. Thanks a4alice.
Thank you, dear Alice, and you are so kind to include me along with the ineffable UT!!
Yes We Can
Yea, Bob!!!
Well done, Chips, AND bobfr! Quite the pair!
Yes in deddle do!
Beautiful Pictures
Hi all
Love this post! Love the First Couple! Love our blogmistress!
Close, but no cigar.
No cigar. No cigarette, but would you like some o/juice instead, Don? Better for your health.
Except the point is there really was no difference.
I think that the presidency has made them closer. They are more powerful together and they are in love.
But wait……I heard somewhere that……..oh never mind.
Chica, these pictures are AWESOME!!! Love them! Especially the one that I’m calling “The hands” — PBO to FLOTUS to Mrs. Robinson all taking care of each other.
I just LOVE my First Family!!.
GASP! My eyes were drawn to that one too! The connection with each other is passed from generation to generation. They were all in lockstep.
Chips……wow….wow….wow. You are freaking amazing!
Thanks for this! One picture is worth a thousand words.
EXACTLY!!!!! I definitely get the picture, Chips!!!!
Good evening, Chips & TOD Fam. Can’t wait until this weekend so that I can absorb all of the Inaugural posts! Thanks for the outstanding job!
Gee, not even a speck of “abandonment” in evidence. In reality.
Chips took out the bulldozer to make a point. But Chi is still one of the great supporters of PBO. Certainly much better scores on that than me.
Thank you for all these fabulous photos of OUR wonderful First Lady and the President. What a First Couple, they make us so proud.
Chips, I <3 you!
Kiss kiss kiss… And on into the night and morning. đđđ
I have one hour to decide if I go to Zumba in the 10 degree weather, or hang around TOD town.
Zumba….TOD….Zumba…..TOD….hmmm, let me see….,OK, OK, OK, simmer down, I’ll probably hang around here.
no honey don’t go out there. its way too cold. brrrrrrrrrr (shiver me timbers)
đCongrats Bobfr. đ
From the last thread (I’m never on the right one!)
January 23, 2013 at 7:22 pm
LOL.
L
That’s one gorgeous couple. Love the Obamas! And the children. And Bo.
I also missed that. If this is abandonment, I’ll take two.
Two threads back kathryn. you’re excused from not knowing about it, you were working on your masterpiece comment on the last thread.
BTW, I stumbled upon it quite by accident. It sounded just a tad bit too concerned imo. That, or the inaugural celebrating was still in full force.
Even Mark’s declarative statements sound distracted. Like he’s thinking to himself, “What policy event?”
The turd in the punch bowl.
Well, there’s goes “punch” for me as a possible thirst-quencher! You sure have a way with words. Ha!
If it ain’t in a see thru bottle, don’t drink it.
Good advice to carry around in one’s pocket!
Maybe that’s why my son always says he “never drinks anything brown” (which I always thought was a little odd, but, hey).
He’s talking about Bourbon, Scotch, Cognac or Rum!
You know your colors, eh? Ha!
You bet your sweet ah……..!
Who talked?
(Sorry – old joke from me younger days. Don’t read anything into it. It was long ago in another place. Ha!)
I love all of these photos
HZ, what sort of laptop is it? For instance, on my MacBook Pro, I can go to System Preferences and slow down the responsiveness of the keys.
Reply
Nice comment, Janelle, very nice. BTW, they did get out of the limo twice on Monday, once further up the ave and then just before the reviewing stand.
Dang Bob, I must of missed that. I thought I was glued to the set but maybe I took a bathroom break
. I want to buy the DVD like now!
And if it was a Pete Souza photo, it represents his good eye to show all of us the care and love of that family!
I concur. Missed it (somehow) but read up on it. Sincerely, I only saw attention, steadfastness and love.
OK…I’m going looking for what the controversey is about…if I get lost…come get me
When you find it, let me know. LOL
OK, I found it am just perplexed as to how I missed that whole thing that seemed to be right at the beginning of the hearings…anyhow….My observations…….this person must have been treated in a disrespectful manner by a sig. other and transferring those anxieties onto people(Obamas) that he/she doesn’t even know…..I found it rather sad that someone would be so involved and invested in other people’s personal lives….It appears to me that Michelle Obama in a smart, beautiful, savvy woman who is quite capable of taking care of herself….and….I watched every single minute of EVERYTHING on tv and streaming and didn’t see not one single incident of PBO doing or not doing anything remotely questionable..except chewing damn gum…and this person could not have known what went on during luncheon unless they were there, up close and personal…because it was NOT televised or streamed……..and furthermore combined with watching idiots all day and then reading that stuff until my eyes crossed…….I NEED ANOTHER BRANDY ALEXANDER
make me one too!!! BTW, what’s in it, LOL!!
put a couple cup(pint maybe) Bryer’s natural vanilla ice cream in blender…add a shot glass full apple Brandy and shot glass full creme de cocao…blend…..drink…..type pubic instead of public
Lol, sounds a little too sweet for my liking, but I’m sure it’s delicious!!! And as Cookemom said, you will go down in history for that little slip up!!
Kiss by Prince Roger Nelson…………Was what came to my mind.
Please don’t let me ever get tired of watching these two people inspire the dream of what love is all about.
Been out all day…didn’t know if anyone saw this. One party (ours) trying to include everyone in the voting process, as is our right in our democracy…the other party…..gerrymanders to death and wants to disenfranchise as many people as possible. Sinful and anti American. Any questions?
http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/2013/01/23/the-voter-empowerment-act-to-be-reintroduced-by-house-and-senate-dems/
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are to human beings living human lives as best they can. I am truly grateful that I am living to see these two incredible people (the LORD made) do what they do (and they do it well). Thank you Chips for a wonderful gift…this site is amazing!
These photos are breath-stoppingly beautiful! THANK YOU Ms Chips! Must say goodnight, as it’s late here…. will catch up tomorrow!
What would I do without your site, Chips? Probably run through the streets naked cause I’m this close…and so done with dumb rock pubs and their hatred of America. Keep up the good work mami…
* U.S. oil production grew more in 2012 than in any year since the Civil War. That’s astounding. (Steve Benen) It IS astounding!
Will be very interesting to see how this all shakes out. I’m certainly glad to see some sanity returning to Israeli politics, even if it’s baby steps.
Interesting commentary from @ChemiShalev

There’s something to say about karma
So freaking true. Bibi tried to screw Pres. Obama’s re-election chances with his partnership and continued vocal support of Romney and disrespect of Pres. Obama. Once again, Pres. Obama indirectly comes out the winner and Bibi may once again need his help.
Karma is a bitch…
I’m so relieved that the Right lost some ground in IsraĂŤl…
Karma. nut n yahoo tried to fuck with Obama’s reelection and finds now that the Karma has handed over the asskicking to PBO.
He had the nerve!! to complain that POTUS interfered with israel’s election!
“He who sleeps with an itching anus will wake up with smelling hands” -
Zimbabwe
OK, I’m done.
I can’t stop laughing……..you are too much.
I love it!
Wow, am so loving this. Sanity returning? Anyone who bets against the people will lose!
it will be very interesting to see the direction Israel politics takes from here out – so many challenges yet so many factions who are focused on their point of view and goals
Good lawd, and I thought we put our hair out after the big win.
cookemom, I kind of agree with you.
much ado about nothing…..I think that was a song or a book or something….much ado about nothing
I say to hell with Boehner. Monday January 21 was a wonderful day for the Obama family and for all who support President Obama and for the country.
As a photographer, I strongly agree. PBO could have been saying he was heading for the men’s room for all we know. An indoor photo captures maybe 1/125 of a second of a facial expression.
She looked happy enough at the parade and in the evening, so I think you’re right: “Much ado about nothing”.
I am wondering if anyone else noticed Boner crying (assumed as he was wiping his eyes) at the luncheon?
canadabarb, maybe the open bar had just closed.
.and no one in the universe makes this crybaby nonsense an issue!!!!!! but, Michelle gets an eyelash in her eye, rolls it to stop from hurting – millions declare she’s dittzing Boner.
He may have been grateful for the champagne, and that his glass was never empty?
Nope. Tan Man only cries when its a celebration for him.
Okay….another topic for a minute…..I heard Tweety’s lead in at the end of Rev. Al before we clicked to local news. It was “Hillary kicks butt. Time for Hardball.”
Something like that. I caught the early airing of his show and am listening to the rerun. he’s saying it again.
It is absolutely gorgeous! Looks like a burnout silk velvet.
It was chiffon and velvet according to a fashion site. Sorry don’t have link but the up close photo was gorgeous.
It din’t slip. He did it a least 3X. Who could blame him
the POTUS loves his wife
Didn’t….oops.
ha, ha I read it wrong. I thought it said PBO’s handwork was beautiful, cause I swear I thought I saw a crooning booty move.
Hey, hey, hey now… What happens with blue lights in the basement, STAYS with blue lights in the basement…. LOLOLOL
Let’s just say there was one guy we called “coffee” “Coffee” you ask? ‘cuz his grind was so fine!
Yes, no doubt in my mind. They couldn’t hide it or fake it if they wanted to. đđ
Have a restful night auntsis, you will find your post very funny in the morning.
Those pictures of our First Couple…Take that all you Haters!!! It steams them that they do not have that kind of love in their own lives.
I love POTUS & FLOTUS.
Me too Ann_T, ,,,,,, Me too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chi:President failed his wife.
I wish my husband would failed me like obama did his wife. damn the obamas are so in love and sexy.
If Cookeman was that attentive to me, I’d be like, would…you…get…off….me. I know, I know, it sounds ungrateful, but I need some daylight between us during the daytime. However, I don’t need any light between us at nighttime!
Hmmmm
Naughty mat for Cookemom!!! Ooops, does one need a naughty mat when it is their man/woman?
I’ll take it anyway. There’s no rule that says a girl has to fly solo on the naughty mat, and I do believe in sharing, doncha know.
Oooh wee, you go girl!! Naughty mat 2.0!!
Oh yes.
Infinite hehe’s at cookeman. Really?
How did your 24 anniversary surprise go Amk?
I bet your sweetie was delighted and appreciative.
Congratulations to the both of you.
Happy Anniversary to you ………..both…..and Many more
Thank you very much, Nena.
I landed at home about an hour ago and found that the wifey unit and the daughter unit turned the tables on me and pulled their own surprise on me with a welcoming Happy 25h anniversary decal and decorating streamers around the house and gifts.
Turns out daughter spilled the beans under wifey’s 3rd degree interrogation (starting with did you talk to your dad?) and they decided to take the typical wimmin’s “revenge” route.
wimmin/smh
24 years! Wow! Congrats to you both!!
.
Wow….so the surprisee got surprised….
That is Great. That is Love all around. I am so happy for you all.
Daughters love their Daddies.
Enjoy
Silver is 25 yrs. Happy 25th anniversary……

Thanks cm.Yes, I was.
Congratulations you rascal! Looks like wimmin are infinitely smarter than men! HA!
Happy Anniversary!!!
awwwwwww those wimmin are crafty huh? Happy Anniversary!
AMK!, Happy Anniversary to you and the Mrs.!
Congratulations on your 25th anniversary!
beatdown extraordinaire. If PBO has an iron fist in a velvet glove, then SOS Hillary has a pitchfork in her pantsuit.
Happy Anniversary amk!!
Is TODAY your anniversary? Happy, happy, happy! Many more:)
Thanks df and Bob.
Yup, today is the silver jubilee of the D-day.
Go on…. You are grateful and thrilled that your missus has put up with your sorry ass this long! Congratulations, amk, and here’s to another 25! Congratulations and very well done, indeed!
Thanks Pamela. Some doods have all the luck.
{{{{{some doods have probably earned it, too, I daresay!}}}}}
Happy silver anniversary, amk!!
Congrats DF…..and many more.
More than anything else, to be blessed with smart kids is the greatest blessing.
Amk, the resident tech. I need your help. Firefox won’t load. I downloaded the latest version. But before that it would not load. The only browser that we can open is Safari. Not even IE will load. Any suggestions. Thanks Mae
Happy Anniversary amk!!
Great kids makes it so special.
How did he get the nickname aquabuddha?
Happy 25th Anniversary amk.
Great pics, Chips.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you for all you do.
Beautiful couple. Thank you Chips.
Thanks for the beautiful photos, Chips.
is it lip-synch-gate yet? borowitz reports

By his very existence, Rand Paul has cast a dark shadow of evil over the entire planet. Says Me!
SORRY, wrong tweet…
hahahahhaaaaa!!!!
The pictures above of the Obamas are so so loving and beautiful.
Yep, as long as Blondie and the Silver Fox are nearby, things are just fine! Do we have names for any other SS agents?
We used the call the one that retired Daddy Warbucks.
TBG = The Bald Guy He’s the one who usually watches over FLOTUS. (Different from Daddy Warbucks, he was older and now retired, I think.)
And what’s with all the name-calling here in the previous threads? chill peeps. Name-calling is reserved for rethugs only.
Yes, thank you amk.
and thank you, Japa21
Of course, it’s only logical after all. They will find any and all ways possible to squander taxpayer money while collecting their pay and benefits, and avoiding anything remotely like working for We The People. The end is nigh, these old ways of treachery are coming to an end. I’m sure of it.
Well you could assume that, but there’s still that matter of FLOTUS spending $80,248,962,428,948,663 of the ‘Murican tax payers money for a vacation trip during the first term. That still needs some looking into.
Happy Anniversary AMK:-) Wishing many…many…many more….Glad you’re back….:-)
P.S. I was already missing your jokes:-)
Beautiful pics Chips,
Pics don’t lie. Our perception is skewed sometimes but pics tell the story.
Thanks so much Chips.
The thrill of the whole weekend still has me tingling!

Deval Patrick on the late-night after-the-Balls White House party. FLOTUS & POTUS both partied to wee hours. Stars, cabinet members, friends, politicoes all had a good time.
A man who will massage your feet is a keeper. I really like this insider’s peek into the real inaugural party. Thanks for the link.

Amk, Happy Anniversary! Please forgive my manners. I saw that you had posted and I was trying to get a help request in.
Hello TOD family,
Well, I’ve not come down from cloud nine yet.
Our hard work and our President’s hard work cannot be in vain.
thanks for reminding me abt HR…will do in morning…glad your weekend was magical……..
AMK, wishing you and the Mrs. a very happy silver jubilee. May you continue to be blessed with love, peace, and joy.
(Really, the wife must be a Saint…)
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY,…..HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU AMK……..ta da da da…….may you both have many years of peace and love.
Obligatory anniv joke
A couple goes out to dinner to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary.
On the way home, she notices a tear in his eye and asks if he’s getting sentimental because they’re celebrating 35 wonderful years together.
He replies, “No, I was thinking about the day before we got married. Your father threatened me with a shotgun and said he’d have me thrown in jail for 25 years if I didn’t marry you. Tomorrow I would’ve been a free man!”
happy anniversary mr and mrs amk!
Happy Anniversary amk!
:)
BBWWWHHAAAA!!!! Now see what you’ve gone and done to me?
bah ha ha!
Read much longer version and almost posted it. Decided it wasn’t funny coming from me.
Your newlyweds. We’re going on 42. Feb. 14, 1970, we had our first date.
Happy 25th Anniversary Amk.
To another glorious 25 years, amk – Congratulations on your anniversary!!
Lovely photos Chips.. I always enjoy seeing the love POTUS & FLOTUS share so naturally, thank you.
Happy 25th Anniversary to AMK & Mrs. AMK.. many many many more years of happiness to you both
Awesomeness Chips! My thoughts in pics! The loveliest of couples.
*sigh* Those pictures. Especially pic # 3. I should be so lucky, enough to be “neglected” like that.
I am partial to picture three too. To me, that embrace displays a bond that is able to withstand all the woes of their world, whether they be mighty or Boehner.
Chips, this is the best post ever. Our POTUS and FLOTUS are just awesome.
LOL, Chips! President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama would have to get a Room if he paid her Any More Attention at the Inauguration Festivities!
You’re the BEST!
Go get her tiger
Happy Anniversary, amk! Here’s a little gift…
Good one, Mary!
Hope you allow me to add my best wishes for a wonderful night and many more to come.
LOL!
Sounds about right.
I just logged in and this photo made my day. I love it.
Doesn’t “gunman on campus” seem like an odd statement when so many campuses now allow concealed weapons?
This is crazy now.
HE’S GONNA CAVE! (but i hope he doesn’t).
So someone sane explained to him that leaving the folks to die on the street was not yet acceptable.

Too distracted tonight to pay much attention to Lawrence, but his re-play of the President’s “We, the people” address was THE BEST.
BTW, it was fab meeting you and your fam!
Padded room or still “Unpacking”.
I overheard two young OFA volunteers on the bus ride going downtown D.C. Saying the Romneys are not taking this very well.
George Takei’s (sp?) Announcements on LOD are LOL!
LDS, I love “Who but Michelle could show Ann Romney how a red dress is supposed to be worn” That is classic. Love it.
Sorry Carolyn, I meant to post here (read below)
If you are going to make a fashion statement……make it!
Michelle does it often and quite well.
Right On. FLOTUS was the “Lady in Red”.
Oh I am looking forward to the Super Bowl halftime show. I hope Beyonce blow it away.
Beyonce visits and sings Halo to patients in a hospital. Accompanied only a sole guitar. Check out that voice control and ease of just singing for the pure joy of it. What a good cause to boot
She actually starts singing at the 2:52 mark
Thank you for that. She is the “whole package”.
The respect Beyonce has for the First Lady and President, I have had it up to here with this did she sing or didn’t she? Make no different to me.
Don’t forget my travel tip. Gee I started the day with you and have come full circle. Safe travels.

This going away for a week and delaying decisions for another week upon my return are meant to give the god of means time to roll my name up to the top of his/her list so that it becomes ‘my turn’. We’ll see.
VC, travel safe. It was such a pleasure meeting you!
You’re such a good person. Here is link to the concert video — http://www.kennedy-center.org/explorer/videos/?id=M5325&type=A
Thank you.
The line was so long…..everybody stayed, though until the very end.
Wow, LDS, it was your lucky week! It WAS good to meet all those I met. I am greedy and wanted to meet all TODobots, but maybe next time. Safe travels to you and your group too!
VC safe travels – and hope you get some rest after this thrilling & magical Inaugural adventure
During the service FLOTUS had some tears and I remember POTUS reaching over giving her a kiss.
In case you missed it, I posted these links on the previous thread:

Thank you Alycee. These links are great. I bookmarked all of them. I loved the sermon and the home page is great. I am in the habit of posting here late at night so I didn’t see your response until just now. I wanted to thank you.. better late than never!
I really am outta here! I’m leaving for the airport at 10:30am so I may be able to peek in here before I hit the road. We’ll see.
Sweet dreams, everyone!
Apparently, Pres. Obama had a dance-off with Usher to Psy’s “Gangnam Style”

Oh LAWD…HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Damn…There will NEVER EVER be another quite like our PBO!
LOVE IT! LOVE IT!
straight up after party in the White House. really liked the pix of Swizz Beat and our illustrious Prez huggin it out.
Jason Wu talks about his shock, delight, and happiness that FLOTUS picked him again.

He is so gracious and grateful. I feel so thrilled for him! What an honor for this young man
To be honest, I am totally clueless when it comes to fashion. All I know is that the First Lady looked gorgeous in 2009 and she even looked more gorgeous in that fabulous red dress this inauguration. This young man, Jason Wu, is definitely a very talented designer. FLOTUS must be commended for seeking out and honoring young talented people.
UT it’s time for you to go to bed!
Hahahahaha. I’m going…..going…..gone. Good night and sweet dreams Hopefruit. Don’t let Boehner bite or weep or tan.
Katy Perry documented her behind the scenes access to Inaug. 2013 with nice pictures. She loves her some POTUS and FLOTUS.

GO HOME! IT IS OVER!
POB and FLOTUS sure know how to throw down…..

Hey Ms Chips, are you waiting until I HAVE TO GO get ready for my flight to post the Rise ‘n Shine? No fair.
HRC did a great job yesterday but so sick of the 2016 talk already. My twitter TL is full of it. We just finished an election. Let’s let life and history unfold.
meta I agree with you about 2016 talk.
Patience VC.
Obama’s fault!
Morning everyone, will catch up soon!
